TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2014 FORD F-150. WHILE DRIVING VARIOUS SPEEDS, THE ENGINE SUDDENLY SHUT OFF. AFTER RESTARTING THE ENGINE, THE VEHICLE OPERATED NORMALLY; HOWEVER, THE CHECK ENGINE INDICATOR REMAINED ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHO DIAGNOSED THAT THE THROTTLE ACTUATOR CONTROL SYSTEM WAS FAULTY. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE, BUT NO ASSISTANCE WAS OFFERED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 216,000.
11/30/19 I WAS DRIVING DOWN THE ROAD AT APPROXIMATELY 45 MPH AND MY TRUCK SUDDENLY DOWNSHIFTED. THERE WAS A LOUD BANG AND THE REAR WHEELS LOCKED UP AND SKIDDED. THE VEHICLE THEN WENT BACK TO NORMAL. 2 DAYS LATER IT HAPPENED AGAIN BUT NOT AS VIOLENTLY. THE TRUCK HAS AROUND 59K ON IT. I SEE THERE IS A RECALL FOR THIS REASON ON 2013 F150 WITH 6 SPEED TRANSMISSION WHICH IS WHAT I HAVE BUT NOTHING FOR THE 2014.
I WAS STOPPED AT A STOPLIGHT, HEARD A LOUD NOISE, AND LOOKED BACK AND MY REAR WINDOW ON MY F150 WAS SHATTERED. I GOT OUT, LOOKED AND IT APPEARS NOTHING HIT THE WINDOW. NO DENTS ON THE TRUCK OR ANYTHING. JUST SHATTERED GLASS
MY VEHICLE WAS REMOTE STARTED WARMING UP FOR ABOUT 10 MINS, I GOT IN THE CAR AND HEARD A LOUD POP, IT SOUNDED LIKE A GUNSHOT. THERE WAS NO ONE OR NOTHING AROUND MY VEHICLE. I LOOKED BACK AND MY REAR WINDOW WAS SHATTERED FOR NO REASON.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2014 FORD F-150. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 40 MPH, THE REAR DRIVER'S SIDE WINDOW EXPLODED AND SHATTERED WITHOUT WARNING OR AN IMPACT OCCURRING. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO GARY YEOMANS HONDA (386-492-1703, LOCATED AT 752 N TOMOKA FARMS ROAD, DAYTONA BEACH, FL 32124) WHERE IT WAS DETERMINED THAT THE WARRANTY WAS EXPIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE AND STATED THAT THERE WAS NO RECALL. THE CONTACT WAS REFERRED TO NHTSA. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 106,000.
I have researched this problem of the rear window defroster not working and the rear window exploding. There are several hundred cases of this but nothing has been done. Ford has not been receptive to fix this issue and I think it is time to hold them accountable. They will offer to replace the window at over $1200. This is something that should be a safety concern since you really can't clean this without getting into the bed of the truck which is dangerous especially in winter time. This also affects the side mirrors. I am quite fed up with these companies not being held accountable.
WHEN DRIVING DOWN THE ROAD TRANSMISSION WILL DOWN SHIFT FROM 6TH GEAR TO FIRST GEAR IT DID IT ON THE INTERSTATE AT 70 MILES AN HOUR. DID IT WHEN IT WAS RAINING. WAS THE SECOND TIME IT DID IT. TAKE IT TO THE FORD DEALERSHIP THEY SAID THEY COULDN'T DO ANYTHING UNLESS IT WAS SHOWING A CODE. DID SOME RESEARCH THERE IS A RECALL ON FORD F150.FOR 09-13 BUT MINE HAS THE SAME TRANSMISSION AS THE 2013. MORE YEAR'S SHOULD BE ADDED TO THE RECALL. THANK YOU
THERE WAS A RECALL FOR A BRAKE BOOSTER MASTER CYLINDER IN MAY OF 2016. WE BOUGHT THE TRUCK USED IN DEC 2017. THE MILEAGE WAS 35774 WHEN THE RECALL WAS DONE. WE HAVE BEEN DRIVING THE TRUCK AND NOW THE BRAKE BOOSTER IS OUT AGAIN. WE REPLACED THE FRONT BRAKES THINKING THAT WAS THE PROBLEM BUT THE BOOSTER STARTED ACTING UP AGAIN. AFTER REPLACING THE BRAKES, THE PEDAL WENT TO FLOOR AND HAD TO BE PUMPED TO HAVE BRAKES. I THINK THEY REPLACED IT WITH YET ANOTHER DEFECTIVE PART. THE TRUCK IS NOT DRIVEABLE.

THE CAUSE OF THE FAILURE WAS NOT DETERMINED. EMPIRE FORD (106 JONESBORO RD, ABBINGTON, VA) AND THE MANUFACTURER WERE NOTIFIED, BUT NO ASSISTANCE WAS OFFERED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 73,000.

DRIVING WITH THE REAR DEFROSTER ON HEARD A LOUD BANG AND THEN NOTICED MY DRIVERS SIDE REAR WINDOW WAS COMPLETELY SPIDER WEBBED. I'VE READ MANY OTHER COMPLAINTS ABOUT THE SAME ISSUE.
IT WAS ABOUT 76 DEGREES OUTSIDE AND RAINING. I JUST FINISHED LOADING SOME GROCERIES IN THE BACK SEAT OF MY TRUCK. I GOT IN MY TRUCK STARTED IT AND TURNED IN THE REAR DEFROSTER BECAUSE THE WINDOWS WERE FOGGED. I SMELLED A STRONG BURNED PLASTIC ODOR BUT THOUGHT NOTHING OF IT. ABOUT 2 MINUTES LATER WHEN I PULLED INTO MY DRIVEWAY, I HEARD A LOUD POP AND IT SOUNDED LIKE IT HAD COME FROM THE BACK SEAT. I LOOKED BACK AND SAW MY BACK DRIVER'S SIDE WINDOW WAS COMPLETELY SHATTERED. I LOOKED AROUND AND I WAS THE ONLY PERSON OR VEHICLE AROUND. I HAD MY NEIGHBORS CHECK THEIR CAMERAS AND IT SHATTERED FOR NO REASON.
MASTER CYLINDER LEAKING INTO BRAKE BOOSTER
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2014 FORD F-150. UPON STARTING THE VEHICLE, THE POWER STEERING FAILED TO OPERATE WITHOUT WARNING. THE CONTACT WAS ABLE TO DRIVE THE VEHICLE TO BONDY'S FORD LINCOLN (3615 ROSS CLARK CIR, DOTHAN, AL 36303, (334) 230-5941) WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE POWER STEERING FAILED. THE CONTACT RECEIVED A REPAIR ESTIMATE OF $1,600. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE AND INFORMED THE CONTACT OF NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 14V316000 (STEERING); HOWEVER, THE VIN WAS NOT INCLUDED. THE VEHICLE HAD NOT BEEN REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 50,000.

THE CONTACT STATED THAT VISIBILITY OUT OF THE REAR WINDOW WAS IMPAIRED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED NOR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS INFORMED OF FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 17,500.
HUSBAND WAS DRIVING OUR 2014 F150 TRUCK AND WAS STOPPED AT A STOP LIGHT; BRAKE PEDAL WENT COMPLETELY TO FLOOR. WHEN HE GOT HOME, IT WAS DISCOVERED THAT BRAKE FLUID WAS LEAKING FROM THE FRONT RIGHT COMPARTMENT. CONFIRMED WITH FORD THAT OUR TRUCK WAS NOT PART OF THE RECALL 16S24, BUT WAS BUILT IN THE DEARBORN PLANT DURING THE SAME TIME FRAME AS THE TRUCKS THAT WERE RECALLED AND THERE IS STILL A WIDE SCOPE OF VEHICLES THAT ARE NOT WITHIN THE SCOPE OF THE RECALL HAVING THE SAME ISSUE. VEHICLE SHUT DOWN AND WENT INTO "LIMP MODE" 1ST TIME IT HAPPENED WAS 10/16/19 WITH 44K MILES. DEALER SCANNED WITH NO CODES RETURNED SO THEY JUST REPROGRAMMED STEERING MODULE AND VEHICLE SEEMED FINE. IT STARTED HAPPENING AGAIN ON 06/25/20 WITH 47.5K MILES WHILE PULLING OUT ONTO MAIN ROAD ALMOST CAUSING ACCIDENT AND SEVERAL TIMES ON THE HIGHWAY AT 70 MPH ALMOST CAUSING ACCIDENTS. TOOK TO DEALER AND SCAN RETURNED ELECTRONIC THROTTLE BODY ERROR, SCAN CODE P2112. THROUGH ADVICE WE CONTACTED FORD CUSTOMER SERVICE AND THEY WERE UNABLE TO ASSIST IN THE REPAIRS EVEN THOUGH THEY HAD KNOWLEDGE AND ADMITTED THAT THIS IS A COMMON PROBLEM. FORD APPLIED AN EXTENDED WARRANTY FOR THE SAME PROBLEM TO SEVERAL MODELS UP TO 2013 VEHICLES, OUR IS A 2014. WE DECLINED REPAIRS AT THIS TIME SINCE WE DON'T DRIVE VEHICLE VERY OFTEN. FORD REP SAID TO SAVE OUR INVOICE FOR POSSIBLE REIMBURSEMENT IN THE FUTURE IF A RECALL WAS ISSUED. IF WE ELECTED TO HAVE THE REPAIRS PERFORMED AT A FORD DEALER, FORD CUSTOMER SERVICE OFFERED TO APPLY SOME SORT OF EXTENDED WARRANTY FOR US IN CASE OF FUTURE PROBLEMS. AFTER DRIVING THIS WEEKEND THE PROBLEM HAS NOT ONLY PERSISTED, BUT OCCURRED MORE FREQUENTLY THAN USUAL, MAINLY AT HIGH SPEEDS MAKING THIS SAFETY ISSUE EVEN MORE DANGEROUS. AT THIS POINT, WE HAVE NO OPTION BUT TO RETURN TO THE DEALER TO HAVE THE WORK DONE. WE STILL FEEL THAT THIS IN NOT A NORMAL WEAR AND TEAR ITEM. IT IS IN FACT A SAFETY ITEM THAT NEEDS TO BE ADDRESSED IMMEDIATELY.
I REMOTELY STARTED MY TRUCK THAT WAS PARKED IN FRONT OF MY HOUSE. I ENTERED THE TRUCK TO DRIVE AND GOT A WARNING LIGHT THAT SAID 'POWER STEERING ASSIST FAULT'. I CANNOT MOVE THE STEERING WHEEL. I CANNOT STEER THE TRUCK IN ANY DIRECTION. THIS HAPPENED ONE DAY AFTER MY WIFE EXPERIENCED THE SAME ISSUE BUT IT CORRECTED ITSELF AND SHE COULD DRIVE THE TRUCK. THE STEERING WHEEL IS FROZEN AND THE TRUCK IS NOT MANEUVERABLE AT ALL. FORTUNATELY I WAS NOT DRIVING FAST WHEN THIS HAPPENED.
PREMATURE STRETCHED TIMING CHAIN AND FAULTY PHASERS @ 43,000 MILES. DIAGNOSED 1 MONTH AFTER POWER TRAN WARRANTY WAS UP.
WHILE TRAVELING ON THE HIGHWAY WE SAW LOOKED OUT THE REARVIEW MIRROR AND SAW WHITE/GRAY SMOKE COMING UP FROM BETWEEN THE TRUCK BED AND THE CAB OF THE TRUCK. WE EXITED THE FREEWAY. WHILE EXITING THE WHITE/GRAY SMOKE TURNED TO BLACK THEN FLAMES SHOT UP. WE PULLED OVER AND GOT OUT AS THE FLAMES CONTINUED TO GROW. WE ATTEMPTED TO PUT OUT THE FIRE BUT IT GREW VERY FAST. THE BACK GLASS EXPLODED AND THE ENTIRE CAB AND FRONT OF THE VEHICLE WAS ENGULFED. 911 WAS CALLED. FIREFIGHTERS ARRIVED AND PUT OUT THE FIRE. THE VEHICLE AND CONTENTS WERE A TOTAL LOSS. THE FIRE DEPARTMENT REPORTS STATES THAT THE FIRE WAS CAUSED BY A MECHANICAL FAILURE IN THE ENGINE COMPARTMENT OR UNDER THE PASSENGER COMPARTMENT CAUSING FLAMES TO SHOW FROM THE BACK OF THE VEHICLE AND CAUSING HEAVY DAMAGE TO THE FRONT OF THE VEHICLE AND PASSENGER COMPARTMENT.
I HAVE A 2014 F150 ECOBOOST AND THERE IS A RECALL FROM FORD FOR A TEMPORARY LOSS OF SIGNAL WITH THE OUTPUT SHAFT SPEED SENSOR HOWEVER NOT FOR MY YEAR. I TRIED TO GO TO FORD TO HAVE THEM REFLASH THE PCM LIKE THE OTHER YEARS THEY COULD NOT DO IT I HAVE HAD MY TRUCK GO INTO 1ST GEAR ON SEVERAL OCCASIONS WHILE ON THE FREEWAY AT 60+ MPH. I HAVE HAD IT STUTTER IN 1ST GEAR AND THEN SHIFT TO 5TH WITH THE WRENCH LIGHT TURNING ON WHILE TRYING TO PULL OUT INTO TRAFFIC
While driving at variable speeds, low and high, the passenger airbag off light comes on while an adult passenger is occupying the passenger front seat. Took to ford dealership 4 times but because the VIN does not match a recall had to pay 4 different diagnostic fees. Have videos as proof, does dealership said can’t recreate issue even with video proof and did nothing to help. Opened 2 cases with Ford Corporate and nothing was done about it. Took vehicle in again and was adamant about this being a recall regardless of VIN matches or not, dealership adjusted weight sensor and told me this would be it and they would not address this issue or my truck anymore, Even though I had told them that my wife is the only passenger and she is pregnant carrying our child. Airbag light indicator illuminates stating the passenger light is off when an adult passenger is in the front passenger seat, has happened at multiple speed from 1 mph up to 50 mph. Could result in an injury or fatality if accident were to occur. Tried to upload the video but nhtsa only allows photos to upload can’t upload the video.
WHILE MY TRUCK'S BRAKES WERE BEING REPAIRED, THE MECHANIC DISCOVERED THAT THE LUG NUTS ON ALL OF THE WHEELS HAD SWOLLEN TO A POINT THAT I WOULD NOT HAVE BEEN ABLE TO REMOVE THEM IF I HAD TO CHANGE A TIRE. THE SERVICE CONSULTANT TOLD ME THIS IS A COMMON PROBLEM WITH THIS MODEL OF FORD F150 BECAUSE THE ORIGINAL DESIGN IS FLAWED, AND THE NUTS HAVE BEEN REDESIGNED. I HAD TO PAY FOR THE NEW SET OF LUG NUTS. I BELIEVE THIS IS A SAFETY PROBLEM THAT COULD LEAVE A DRIVER STRANDED WITH A FLAT TIRE OR USE SOME DANGEROUS ALTERNATIVE METHOD TO REMOVE SWOLLEN LUG NUTS CAUSING A SAFETY ISSUE. I ALSO THINK THAT FORD SHOULD HAVE VOLUNTARILY REPLACED THE LUG NUTS. THANK YOU FOR THE OPPORTUNITY TO REGISTER THIS CONCERN.
VEHICLE FIRE. I STARTED THE VEHICLE UP IN MY DRIVEWAY AND HEARD A SMALL POP/EXPLOSION AND SMOKE CAME OUT FROM UNDER THE HOOD. I IMMEDIATELY SHUT OFF THE TRUCK, POPPED THE HOOD AND COULD NOT IDENTIFY THE SOURCE OF THE ISSUE. I STARTED THE TRUCK AGAIN AND NOTICED WHERE THE FIE/SMOKE WAS, SHUT OFF THE TRUCK, AND PROCEEDED TO RUSH INTO THE HOUSE TO GRAB THE KITCHEN FIRE EXTINGUISHER AND PUT THE FIRE OUT. THANKFULLY I WAS NOT DRIVING AND MY HOUSE DIDN'T CATCH FIRE. I CALLED MY MECHANIC AND HAD THE TOW TRUCK DELIVER THE VEHICLE TO HIM AND THEY CONFIRMED THAT IT WAS THE OEM ALTERNATOR THAT WAS THE CAUSE OF THE FIRE. I CONTACTED THE DEALERSHIP WANTING TO REPORT THE ISSUE AND THE DEALERSHIP IN THEIR WORDS SAID "NOT SURE WHAT YOU WANT US TO DO?" NOT ARE YOU OK, THIS IS SERIOUS LET US HELP, ETC. JUST A SIMPLE PASSING THE BUCK TO A 1800 NUMBER TO FORD. I FILED A CASE WITH FORD MOTOR COMPANY, BUT THAT TOO WAS A JOKE. THEY DIDN'T CARE EITHER. I WAS TOLD THEY'LL FILE IT AS NEGATIVE FEEDBACK AND SINCE I WAS SO UPSET, I WAS DIRECTED TO CREATE A COMPLAINT WITH NHTSA. I FOUND THIS VERY DISTURBING AS FORD APPEARS TO NOT HAVE CARED ONE BIT ABOUT THEIR MANUFACTURED VEHICLE CATCHING FIRE OR THE POSSIBILITY OF SOMEONE GETTING HURT OR KILLED. I HOPE THIS COMPLAINT FINDS THE RIGHT PEOPLE AND PREVENTS A REAL ACCIDENT OR TRAGEDY FROM HAPPENING. AT THIS TIME I DON'T HAVE THE REPAIR INVOICES AS THE FIRE DID A DECENT AMOUNT OF DAMAGE EVEN THOUGH I DID PUT IT OUT WITHIN 60 SECONDS OF IT STARTING. THE MECHANICS ARE STILL ASSESSING ALL THE DAMAGE DONE. SINCE THE FIRE WAS IN THE ENGINE BAY AREA ON THE BOTTOM, THERE ISN'T MUCH VISIBLE BURN DAMAGE (AND IT IS CURRENTLY COVERED IN DRY CHEM FROM THE FIRE EXTINGUISHER). I DID FILE A CASE WITH FORD AS MENTIONED AND IF YOU NEED THE CASE NUMBER I'D BE GLAD TO PROVIDE IT.
MASTER CYLINDER LEAKED INTO THE BRAKE BOOSTER CAUSING BRAKE FAILURES. THERE IS A RECALL ON THIS BUT ACCORDING TO THE FORD WEBSITE MY VEHICLE IS NOT PART OF THAT RECALL.
WHILE DRIVING ON THE FREEWAY, BRAKE FLUID LOW LIGHT APPEARED FOLLOWED BY LOSS OF BRAKES. HAD TO USE EMERGENCY BRAKES TO AVOID HITTING THE CAR IN FRONT OF ME. HAD VEHICLE TOWED TO NEAREST FORD DEALERSHIP. MECHANICS STATED THAT THE BRAKE FLUID LEAKED INTERNALLY BETWEEN THE BOOSTER AND MASTER CYLINDER.
WHILE DRIVING MY 2014 F150 TRUCK, THE POWER STEERING SUDDENLY GOT STIFF WHENEVER I TURNED INTO A RIGHT OR LEFT SIDE STREET OR ENCOUNTERED A TIGHT CURVE IN THE ROAD. STEERING IN THESE INSTANCES NECESSITATED VARYING DEGREES OF ADDITIONAL STRENGTH TO MAKE THE TURN AND THEN THE WHEEL RARELY EASILY RETURNED TO A POSITION TO GO STRAIGHT THUS RESULTING IN OVER STEERING. I WAS TOWING MY TRAVEL TRAILER THROUGH MOUNTAINOUS TERRAIN AT THE TIME OF THE FIRST INCIDENT ON SEPT. 23,2019, BUT THE PROBLEM CONTINUED UPON DETACHING THE TRAILER AND UNDER MORE NORMAL TERRAIN CONDITIONS. THE TRUCK HAS 80,600 MILES OF MOSTLY HIGHWAY DRIVING. AFTER SOME RESEARCH, I AM FEELING THAT IT IS THE EPAS SYSTEM CAUSING THE PROBLEM. I BOUGHT THIS TRUCK IN EARLY 2015. IT WAS A LEFTOVER FROM 2014. I HAVE ALSO SEEN THAT THERE IS A RECALL (14509/NHTSA RECALL 14V316) FOR THIS YEAR AND MAKE, BUT SINCE THE TRUCK SAT AT THE DEALER DURING THE RECALL, I AM WONDERING IF THE EPAS RECALL WORK WAS ACTUALLY DONE. I HAVE SET A SERVICE APPOINTMENT WITH THE DEALER ON 9/26/2019 (NEMER FORD QUEENSBURY, NY) BECAUSE I DO NOT FEEL SAFE DRIVING THE VEHICLE AND MY WIFE WILL NEVER BE ABLE TO APPLY THE STRENGTH NECESSARY TO TURN THE VEHICLE WHEN THE PROBLEM OCCURS. I FEAR HOW MANY OF THESE VEHICLES ARE ON THE ROAD WAITING FOR REALLY BAD FATAL ACCIDENTS TO HAPPEN. WHEN THE RECALL OCCURRED, MANY OF THE AFFECTED VEHICLES WERE IN THE HANDS OF DEALERSHIPS AND I AM CONCERNED THAT MANY WERE NOT REPAIRED BY THOSE DEALERSHIPS AND THE OWNERS WERE NEVER KNOWLEDGEABLE OF THE PROBLEM UNTIL INCIDENTS HAPPENED. THERE ARE MANY, MANY REPORTS FROM OWNERS OF THIS MAKE AND MODEL HAVING EPAS SYSTEMS.

BRAKE FLUID LEVEL LOW ALERT RECEIVED WHILE DRIVING. ARRIVED AT DESTINATION WITHIN ONE MILE. UPON RETURN TO VEHICLE ONE HOUR LATER AND STARTING VEHICLE AND REVERSING OUT OF PARKING SPOT, THE BRAKE PEDAL WENT TO FLOOR WHEN PRESSED AND BRAKES DID NOT WORK. MOVED GEAR SHIFT TO PARK AND VEHICLE STOPPED. TOWED TO FORD DEALER WHO ADVISED THAT MASTER CYLINDER AND BRAKE BOOSTER HAD FAILED. NO EXTERNAL LEAKAGE OCCURRED.
THE BRAKES ON MY FORD F150 WENT OUT COMPLETELY, WHILE DRIVING. THE TIME FROM BRAKE LIGHT TO NO BRAKES WAS ABOUT 3-4 MINUTES. I HAD TO USE THE EMERGENCY BRAKE TO MANEUVER. FORTUNATELY I WAS TURNING INTO A GAS STATION. ALTHOUGH A RECALL HAS BEEN CREATED FOR 2013-2014 FORD F150 FOR THE EXACT ISSUE WITH MY TRUCK, MY TRUCK IS NOT A PART OF THE RECALL (BRAKE MASTER CYLINDER LEAKING INTO THE BRAKE BOOSTER). THIS IS VERY DANGEROUS. I HAD NO BRAKES. I ASKED THE FORD SERVICE PROVIDER IF THEY REPORT THE ISSUE, AND THE RESPONSE WAS THEY DO NOT. I AM CONCERNED THAT THERE ARE OTHER DRIVERS OUT THERE WHO WILL HAVE THEIR BRAKES GO OUT WHILE DRIVING. BOTH TIMES I WAS ABLE TO COAST THE VEHICLE TO SIDE OF THE ROAD OR PARKING LOT TO RE START VEHICLE. AFTER EACH OCCURENCE I TOOK VEHICLE TO A MECHANIC TO CHECK VEHICLE. THE FIRST TIME WAS A LOCAL SHOP DUE TO KNOW DEALERSHIPS CLOSE BY, SECOND TIME I WAS CLOSE TO MTN VIEW FORD IN CHATTANOOGA, TN. AFTER TROUBLE SHOOTING AND VEHICLE SHUTTING OFF ON THE TECHNICIAN, THEY WERE ABLE TO TRACE THE USE DOWN THAT IS PICTURED. THE TRUCK DID NOT LEAVE ANY ERROR CODES OR INDICATIONS TO ISSUE. WHEN THE VEHICLE WAS NOT CAUSING THE IMMEDIATE ISSUE IT WAS RUNNING FINE WITH NO PROBLEMS INDICATED. THE TECHNICIAN DID INDICATE TO ME THAT THIS HAS HAPPENED SEVERAL TIMES THAT HE WAS AWARE OF. WITH THAT BEING SAID, I FEEL THAT THIS ISSUE SHOULD HAVE BEEN PLACED INTO A RECALL DUE TO THE DANGER THAT I ENCOUNTERED WITH THE VEHICLE SHUTTING OFF WHILE ON INTERSTATE AND MAJOR HIGHWAY WITH NO INDICATIONS OF ISSUES. MY VEHICLE FAILED TO START. AFTER HAVING THE VEHICLE TOWED TO MY DEALER, I WAS TOLD THE ISSUE WAS A BLOWN FUSE. I ASKED THEM TO REPLACE AND WAS TOLD THE ACTUAL FIX IS TO RELOCATE THE FUSE LOCATION BASED ON A SAFETY BULLETIN. I BELIEVE THIS IS A MAJOR SAFETY ISSUE AND AFTER READING ALL THE OTHER COMPLAINTS BELIEVE SOMEONE SHOULD TAKE A CLOSER LOOK. IF I HAD BEEN DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY WHEN THIS KNOWN FUSE ISSUE HAPPENED I COULD HAVE LOST CONTROL AND WOULD HAVE CERTAINLY LOST POWER UNEXPECTEDLY POSSIBLY CAUSING AN ACCIDENT. FORD HAS KNOWN ABOUT THE PROBLEM FOR YEARS BUT HAS CONTINUED TO CHARGE OWNERS TO RELOCATE THE FUSE WHEN THE WHOLE ISSUE IS A FACTORY DEFECT. IF IT WAS NOT A FACTORY DEFECT THEN THE ISSUE WOULD NOT CONTINUE TO AFFECT SO MANY VEHICLES ON THE ROAD. I WAS LUCKY MY FUSE BLEW IN MY DRIVEWAY BUT OTHERS ARE AT RISK SHOULD THIS HAPPEN WHILE DRIVING.

WHILE DIAGNOSING THE PROBLEM I COULD NOT FIND THE SOURCE OF THE LEAK SO I SEARCHED THE INTERNET AND FOUND MORE PEOPLE WITH THE SAME THINGS HAPPENING TO TRUCKS JUST LIKE MINE AND EVEN SOME WERE INCLUDED IN A RECALL BUT WHEN SEARCHING MY VIN UNFORTUNATELY IT WAS NOT INCLUDED.
RECALL 16V345000 WAS DONE ON MY VEHICLE AFTER 30,000 MILES EXACT ISSUE HAS RETURNED FORD/DEALERSHIP REFUSES TO FIX THE FAILED RECALL FIX. VEHICLE STOPPING DISTANCE IS SIGNIFICANTLY LONGER THAN BEFORE FRONT BRAKES DO NOT WORK AT ALL BRAKE PEDAL FALLS TO THE FLOOR.

IF I WASN'T DRIVING THIS COULD HAVE BEEN A MAJOR WRECK OR SERIOUS INJURIES.
STARTING A MONTH OR TWO AGO WHILE DRIVING, THE POWER STEERING ON MY FORD F150 STOPPED WORKING LEADING TO AN INABILITY TO TURN WITHOUT USING A LOT OF STRENGTH. THE ISSUE APPEARS TO BE RELATIVELY INTERMITTENT BUT FREQUENT. THIS MEANS SOMETIMES I HAVE THE ABILITY TO STEER NORMALLY, BUT MORE FREQUENTLY THAN NOT I AM MUSCLING THE VEHICLE THROUGH TURNS. THE ONLY PRECEDENCE I CAN FIND FOR THIS ISSUE IS A RECALL ON MY SAME MAKE, MODEL, AND YEAR FOR THE ELECTRIC POWER STEERING, BUT UPON TALKING WITH FORD, MY TRUCK WAS NOT IDENTIFIED AS PART OF THE RECALL, EVEN THOUGH ALL OF THE SYMPTOMS MATCH. I CANNOT FIND ANY OTHER PRECEDENCE FOR THE ISSUE, AND CANNOT FIND ANY GUIDANCE. ALL I KNOW IS THAT THE VEHICLE IS NOT SAFE TO DRIVE, AS THERE IS NO TELLING WHETHER OR NOT I WILL BE ABLE TO STEER. ON CARCOMPLAINTS.COM, IT APPEARS THAT ABOUT 70 OTHER PEOPLE HAVE REPORTED THE SAME ISSUE.
