DOOR NOT LATCHING PROPERLY. FLEW OPEN WHILE DRIVING. SERVICE AVAILABLE IN 18DAYS. LAST FORD I WILL BUY.
AFTER ENTERING THE TRUCK, I CLOSED THE DOOR, PUT ON MY SEAT BELT, STARTED THE ENGINE AND PUT THE TRUCK INTO FORWARD GEAR. I NOTICED THE "DRIVER DOOR AJAR" ALERT AND TRIED TO CLOSE IT AGAIN. THE LATCH DID NOT ENGAGE AT ALL. THE TEMPERATURE WAS A LITTLE BELOW FREEZING, MAYBE 25 DEGREES F. I LET THE TRUCK WARM UP, PLAYED WITH THE ELECTRONIC LOCKING BUTTONS AND AFTER 10 MINUTES OR SO, I GOT THE LATCH TO WORK. THIS HAPPENED AGAIN THE NEXT DAY AND EVEN USING A TORCH TO WARM THE DOOR, IT STILL TOOK AT LEAST 15 MINUTES BEFORE I COULD GET THE LATCH TO ENGAGE. I FOUND NUMEROUS COMPLAINTS ON THE INTERNET FOR THIS PROBLEM, INCLUDING SOME ACCOUNTS IN WHICH THE LATCH DISENGAGED WHILE DRIVING! THIS IS EXTREMELY SCARY AND VERY DANGEROUS. I BELIEVE THIS IS A WELL-KNOWN AND DOCUMENTED PROBLEM THAT IS SEVERE ENOUGH TO WARRANT A RECALL. IT COULD CERTAINLY LEAD TO AN ACCIDENT AND POTENTIALLY A LOSS OF CONTROL WITH POTENTIALLY LETHAL RESULTS.
door latches freezes up in the cold . ford had a recall on them so i took it to William's Ford in Sayre Pa last year they did what Ford told them to do twice and i was back several times after that because it did not work and then i went to the dealership where i bought it at and spoke to Tony sales management and he was working on getting the problem fix with no luck threw his rep. and Ford Motor Co . then i called Ford customer complaint an got no where with them but they did call William's Ford to fix at my expense and said no i am not paying for something Ford has a known problem with . then weather was getting warmer so i had no issues and still did not fix the problem . now to day it 25 degree and went to get in doors opened ok but would not shut 3out of the 4 would not latch then i call the William's Ford Garage and they said they can not do anything to help me with this on going problem then i call the dealership to once again to speak with Tony and he off until next tuesday but iam sure not going to get anwhere with him tho i think he tries because that were i bought it but then he only can do what Ford Motor Co tells him to do .i run with a local fire co and last yr was twice i drove home hanging on the door and i let the garage and Tony know a still got nowhere . so to me it is a big safty problem that ford knows about and just getting away from fixing the problem . just last week i meet a guy that works at Matthew's pre - owend vehicles in Vestal Ny with the same problem and gets nowhere with Ford he told me startes the truck up leave a gap in door and turn the heat on high and 4 to 5 minutes later they work .so i guess your my last resort
CLICKING/GRINDING NOISE ON DECELERATION BETWEEN 1000-2000 RPM. I HAD THE NECESSARY TSB 18-2354 (REPROGRAM PCM FOR NOISE COMPLAINT) COMPLETED ON VEHICLE WITH NO CHANGE. I'VE READ MANY ARTICLES ABOUT THIS ISSUE AND NO ONE HAS HAD THEIR VEHICLE FIXED FROM THIS ISSUE. FORD HAS SAID THIS IS NORMAL BUT A CLICKING NOISE UNDER DECELERATION IS NEVER NORMAL ESPECIALLY WHEN IT STARTED HAPPENING AFTER DRIVING 500-1000 MILES ON THE VEHICLE. MY VEHICLE CURRENTLY HAS 22,000 MILES ON IT AND WHEN I FIRST BOUGHT THE VEHICLE AT 21,000 MILES IT NEVER MADE THE NOISE UNTIL ABOUT 500 MILES INTO IT. I FEAR THAT THE NOISE COULD BE CAUSING DEBRIS TO GET INTO THE ENGINE AND OR TRANSMISSION. I WISH FORD WOULD BE MORE SERIOUS ABOUT THIS ISSUE SINCE MANY PEOPLE HAVE HAD THIS PROBLEM WITH THEIR 2018-2019 FORD F-150 AND MUSTANGS. FORD SAYS THIS IS A NORMAL CHARACTERISTIC BUT IT CAN'T BE NORMAL IF THE NOISE WAS NEVER THEIR AND STARTS UP AFTER 500-1000 MILES OF DRIVING. MANY PEOPLE HAVE HAD THIS ISSUE AND IT HASN'T BEEN RESOLVED. PLEASE FIND A FIX. I JUST SPENT $33,000 ON A VEHICLE AND I DO NOT WISH TO SPEND MONEY TO REPLACE AN ENGINE OR TRANSMISSION.
HI, ISSUE 1: STEERING & SAFETY RELATED. LOSS OF ASSIST OF THE STEERING SYSTEM AFTER VEHICLE IS COMING OUT OF AUTO STARTSTOP MODE. APPEARS TO BE COLD TEMPERATURE RELATED 35-45F. CITY STEET. (LAST INCIDENT - 6 MILE RD - NORTHVILLE). DRIVEN < 0.5 MILE FROM HOME TO SCHOOL (VEHICLE DIDN'T REACH NORMAL OPERATING TEMPERATURE) NO POWER STEERING ASSIST FOR UP TO 5 SECONDS WITH ENGINE RUNNING AFTER START STOP. HAS NOW OCCURRED WITH A HIGH SEVERITY (NO ASSIST) > 5 TIMES. SOME OCCASIONS IT APPEARS THAT THE RAMP UP OF ASSIST IS DELAYED BY 0.5 TO 1 SECONDS. FORD DEALER EXAMINED AND COULDN'T FIND ISSUE IN 2020. UPON MY SECOND VISIT THEY REPLACED THE BATTERY AND SAID THEY FOUND A FAULT CODE. ALSO CONTACT FORD HOTLINE FOR ASSISTANCE, WITHOUT SATISFACTORY RESOLUTION. ISSUE IS STILL PRESENT AND NOT RESOLVED. 2 INCIDENTS HAVE BEEN VERY CLOSE TO SEVERE FRONT IMPACT FROM ONCOMING TRAFFIC DUE TO THE GREAT DIFFICULTY TO TURN THE STEERING WHEEL WITHOUT ASSIST. THE TURNING TORQUE IS SO GREAT THE LAST INCIDENT CAUSED PHYSICAL INJURY/PAIN TO MY WRISTS DUE TO THE URGENCY TO MAKE THE TURN WITH THE ONCOMING VEHICLE AND WRENCHING ON THE STEERING WHEEL TO GET THE TRUCK TO TURN ACROSS THE LANE INTO THE ROAD. LAST ISSUE A FEW WEEKS AGO. I HAVE BEEN MANUALLY TURNING OFF THE AUTO STARTSTOP EACH TIME TO AVOID THE ISSUE. I AM SCHEDULED FOR SERVICE AT TOM HOLZER FORD AND WILL AGAIN ASK THEM TO INVESTIGATE AND RESOLVE THE ISSUE. ISSUE 2: AUTOMOTIVE WIPERS APPEAR TO BE TRIGGERED BY SUNLIGHT / CHANGING LIGHT CONDITIONS WHEN NO RAIN IS PRESENT ON THE WINDSHIELD.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNED A 2018 FORD F-150 SUPERCAB. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE APPROACHING HIS RESIDENTS DROPPING A FRIEND OFF THE CONTACT NOTICED FLAMES COMING FROM THE STEERING COLUMN. THE CONTACT MANAGED TO EXIT THE VEHICLE HOWEVER, WITHIN MINUTES THE VEHICLE WENT UP IN FLAMES. THE FIRE DEPARTMENT WAS CONTACTED CAME OUT AND EXTINGUISHED THE FLAMES. THE VEHICLE WAS DEEMED A TOTALED LOST AT THE RESIDENTS WHERE THE CONTACT WAS. A POLICE REPORT WAS MADE. THE VEHICLE HAS NOT BEEN DIAGNOSED. NO INSURANCE ADJUSTOR WAS CONTACTED DUE TO THE CONTACT INSURANCE EXPIRATION DATE. SUBURBAN FORD OF WATERFORD 6975 HIGHLAND RD, WATERFORD, MI 48327 (248) 674-4781 WAS CONTACTED AND INFORMED THE CONTACT THAT WAS A PERSONAL MATTER AND TO CONTACT HIS INSURANCE FOR FURTHER ASSISTANCE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED ABOUT THE FAILURE AND INFORMED THE CONTACT THAT NO RECALLS WAS UNDER THE VIN. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 48,000.
LEAKS OIL DEALER CANT STOP THE PROBLEM. CONSTANT LEAK. 2018 SHOULD NOT HAVE THIS TYPE PROBLEM GOING TO CAUSE ENGINE FAILURE. NOT SAFE THIS IS AN ONGOING ISSUE.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2018 FORD F-150. THE CONTACT STATED WHILE DRIVING 55 MPH WITH THE SMART CRUISE ENGAGED, THE VEHICLE INDEPENDENTLY ACCELERATED WITHOUT WARNING. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO CORWIN FORD NAMPA (5707 E. GATE BLVD, NAMPA, ID 83687, (208) 546-3559) BUT WAS NOT DIAGNOSED NOR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT CONTACTED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 11,000.
DRIVER'S SIDE DOOR LATCH FROZE OPEN AND THE DOOR WOULD NOT LATCH/STAY CLOSED. IT WAS 27 DEGREES THIS MORNING. I HAD TO HOLD THE DOOR CLOSED. EVENTUALLY AFTER DRIVING THE VEHICLE AND CLOSING THE DOOR SEVERAL TIMES, IT FINALLY LATCHED. I PREVIOUSLY HAD FORD'S DOOR LATCH RECALL PERFORMED TO FIX THIS ISSUE, HOWEVER, IT SEEMS THIS RECALL DOES NOT FIX THIS PROBLEM. MANY OTHERS HAVE EXPRESSED CONTINUED FREEZING VIA VARIOUS FORD FORUMS AFTER HAVING THE FROZEN DOOR LATCH RECALL PERFORMED.
THE DRIVERS SIDE DOOR AFTER FREEZING CONDITIONS IN MAINE WOULD NOT CLOSE AS I DROVE IT TO UHAUL TO HAVE A HITCH INSTALLED. THIS WAS EXTREMLY DANGEROUS AS THE DOOR WOULD NOT LATCH CLOSED.
VEHICLE HAS AUTOMATIC START STOP FEATURE. AFTER VEHICLE RESTARTS POWER STEERING DOES NOT PROVIDE ANY ASSISTANCE FOR 2-5 SECONDS. VEHICLE IS MOVING UNDER POWER BUT HAS NO STEERING ASSIST. 3 REPAIR VISITS WITH NO DIAGNOSIS. PROBLEM HAS BEEN HAPPENING ALMOST SINCE NEW. SOMETIMES DELAY IS PRESENT, SOMETIMES IT'S NOT. CAN'T PREDICT WHEN STEERING ASSIST WILL NOT BE AVAILABLE.
The contact owns a 2018 Ford F-150. The contact stated that on several occasions while stopped at a red light, the EcoBoost feature activated, and the vehicle lunged forward during acceleration. There were no warning lights illuminated. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 94,000.
In late 2020 Ford issued recall 20C03 to correct a problem with the Daylight running lights. This entailed the reprogramming of the body control module. In so doing they made an error in the new program and inadvertently activated the parking lamps at all times when using the Daylight running lights. This is in violation of the FMVSS No. 108 (Vehicle Lighting Standards) and California Vehicle Code Section 24800 (Driving with Parking Lights). I filed a complaint with Ford Motor Co. and they have repeatedly refused to correct the issue. Now to avoid the possibility of receiving a traffic violation it is necessary to not use a safety feature and drive without Daylight running lights.
The contact owns a 2018 Ford F-150. The contact stated that the vehicle made an abnormal clunking sound on first start up, upon shifting to drive(D) and depressing the accelerator pedal. A dealer mobile technician diagnosed the vehicle at the residence and informed the contact that the smart transmission was operating as designed; however, the failure persisted. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, where the contact was informed that the failure could not be duplicated. The dealer advised the contact to not be concerned because the vehicle was still covered under warranty. The contact stated that the failure progressively worsened, and the vehicle was taken back to the dealer, where it was diagnosed that the 10-speed transmission had failed and needed to be replaced. The dealer informed the contact that the vehicle was no longer covered under warranty, but the manufacturer had provided a loyalty discount. The vehicle was repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 35,000.
WHEN TOWING A TRAILER AND YOU COME TO A STOP, THE ENGINE SHUTS OFF DISPLAYING "AUTO STOP/START SHIFT TO P THEN RESTART ENGINE". WHEN YOU RESTART THE ENGINE IT IMMEDIATELY DIES AGAIN. YOU ARE LEFT WITH DISABLED POWER STEERING, DISABLED POWER BRAKES, AND HAVE TO REV UP THE ENGINE WHILE KEEPING ONE FOOT ON THE BRAKES, AND SLAM IT INTO GEAR TO TRY TO GET MOVING, ALL WHILE TOWING A LARGE TRAILER BEHIND YOU AND TYPICALLY IN AN INTERSECTION.. THIS IS A VERY DANGEROUS SITUATION. FORD IS AWARE OF THE PROBLEM, BUT WILL NOT DO ANYTHING TO FIX IT, EVEN IF YOU BRING YOUR TRUCK TO THEIR SERVICE CENTER REPORTING THE PROBLEM. THERE IS AN NTSB BULLETIN DESCRIBING THE PROBLEM AND REQUIRED REPAIR, # 18-2249, BUT FORD DOES NOT PERFORM THE WORK UNLESS YOU PROVIDE A COPY OF THE BULLETIN AND INSIST ON THE WORK BEING DONE. THIS NTSB BULLETIN NEEDS TO BE A RECALL! THIS IS A VERY DANGEROUS DRIVING SITUATION WHICH NEEDS TO BE CORRECTED.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2018 FORD F-150. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE STALLED WHILE HAULING A TRAILER. THE CONTACT RESTARTED THE VEHICLE AFTER TWO MINUTES AND HAD TO DEPRESS THE BRAKE PEDAL AND ACCELERATOR PEDAL AT THE SAME TIME WHILE REVVING THE ENGINE TO 1,500 RPM TO DRIVE THE VEHICLE TO A REST STATION. THE CONTACT TOOK THE VEHICLE TO ANDERSON FORD BULLHEAD CITY (2585 AZ-95, BULLHEAD CITY, AZ 86442) AND SIEMANS FORD, INC. (8961 RED ARROW HWY, BRIDGMAN, MI 49106) HOWEVER, THE MECHANICS WERE UNABLE TO DUPLICATE THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE CONTACT INFORMED THE MANUFACTURER OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 33,400.
I HAD JUST GOT MY KIDS IN THE TRUCK, STARTED THE TRUCK AND TURNED ON THE FRONT AND BACK DEFROSTERS. WHILE SITTING AND LETTING TRUCK WARM UP, THE INSIDE OF THE CAB STARTED SMOKING- GOT MY KIDS OUT QUICKLY AND THEN THE BACK MIDDLE WINDOW SHATTERED OUT OF NOWHERE.
BACK SINCE 2018-2019 IVE HAD A REOCCURRING PROBLEM WITH MY DOOR LATCHES FREEZING, SPECIFICALLY THE REAR PASSENGER DOOR. I'M VERY, VERY CONCERNED THAT IN THE CASE OF AN EMERGENCY I WILL NOT BE ABLE TO GET MY KIDS OUT OF THE TRUCK. AFTER ABOUT AN HOUR OF DRIVING THE LATCH UNFREEZES AND I'M ABLE TO OPEN THE DOOR. THERE IS NO LONGER A TSB ON THE TRUCK BECAUSE THE ISSUE WAS "FIXED" LAST YEAR (NOV OF 2019). IN FACT THE ISSUE IS NOT FIXED AND MY DOORS FROZE THIS MORNING ON THE WAY TO DROPPING MY KIDS OFF AT SCHOOL. THE DEALERSHIP IS UNABLE TO HELP WITHOUT OUT ME INCURRING OUT OF POCKET EXPENSES (AND RIGHTFULLY SO BECAUSE THIS IS A FORD ISSUE). FORD HAS ALSO NOT STOOD BEHIND ITS VISTA ROOF OPTION (NOT AS BIG OF A SAFETY ISSUE BUT NONETHELESS). THE ROOF GET STUCK AND BANGS OUT OF POSITION LIKE ITS GOING TO BREAK WHILE DRIVING. FORD HAS ONLY "GREASED" THE TRACKS WITHOUT ADDRESS THE REAL ISSUES. I'M DISAPPOINTED IN FORDS LACK OF ATTENTION OR PROACTIVENESS ON THIS DOOR LATCH ISSUES. SOMEONE IS GOING TO GET SERIOUSLY HURT OR KILLED IF THEY CANT EXIT A VEHICLE BECAUSE THEIR LATCH IS FROZEN AND FORD KNOWS ABOUT IT.
DASH BOARD IS WARPED. REAR WINDOW DEFROSTER NOT WORKING
TIMING CHAIN STRETCHED. ONLY 62,000 MILES. POOR DESIGN BY FORD. OVER $3,500.00 TO REPAIR. FIGHTING WITH FORD FOR HELP. RATTLING SOUNDS AT COLD START.
I WAS DRIVING OUT OF A GAS STATION AND THE AUTO STOP START WARNING CAME ON AS I WAS ACCELERATING AND LOST ALL POWER STEERING AND I WAS ABLE TO COAST AWAY FROM TRAFFIC. I HAD TO PUT IT IN PARK AND RESTART THE ENGINE. I HAVE NO IDEA WHAT CAUSED THIS ISSUE AS I PUT WELL OVER 400 MILES A WEEK ON MY TRUCK AND THIS WAS THE FIRST ACURRANCE.
10 SPEED TRANSMISSION SHIFTS VERY HARD INTO REVERSE (LOUD 'THUNK' HEARD ALONG WITH A JARRING MOTION FELT INSIDE THE CAB). MAJORITY OF THE TIME THIS HAPPENS SHORTLY AFTER THE VEHICLE HAS STARTED (I LET THE ENGINE 'IDLE DOWN' BEFORE SHIFTING INTO GEAR). FORD OF CANADA REPROGRAMMED THE TRANSMISSION A NUMBER OF TIMES, AND THAT SEEMS TO SOLVE THE REVERSING ISSUE TEMPORARILY. NOW LIVE IN THE USA, AND IN ADDITION TO THE REVERSE ISSUES THE VEHICLE WILL 'JERK' OR 'STALL' WHEN SHIFTING BETWEEN 3-4-5-6 GEARS SHORTLY AFTER STARTED. UNFORTUNATELY NEITHER OF THESE ARE AN 'EVERY TIME' OCCURRENCE, AND HAVE HAPPENED IN BOTH COLD AND HOT AMBIENT TEMPERATURES. TO FORD CANADA'S CREDIT THEY DID ATTEMPT TO SOLVE THE ISSUE MULTIPLE TIMES...WE'LL SEE HOW FORD USA DEALS WITH THE SITUATION.
SHIELD UNDER ENGINE BETWEEN VEHICLE AND ROAD SURFACE IS FALLING FOR NO REASON. IT IS MADE OF FABRIC THAT QUICKLY WEARS OUT SPECIALLY IN WINTER DRIVING CONDITIONS. MANUFACTURER SAYS IT IS NORMAL AND IT IS NOT NORMAL AS THEY SAY IT WILL HAPPEN AGAIN.
DASHBOARD OF THE TRUCK HAS A WARP WHERE THE FRONT WINDSHIELD DEFROSTER ARE LOCATED.

The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired by an independent mechanic or dealer. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 77,518. The VIN was unavailable.
Front cameras, rear camera and 360 cameras became blurry even after cleaning lenses. Progressively getting worse as the resolution quality deteriorates which makes it a safety hazard. The gps navigation and control main screen freezes intermittently making the touch screen inoperable
TRUCK EXPERIENCES VIOLENT SHAKING IN THE STEERING WHEEL IF YOU HIT ANY BUMPS IN THE ROAD AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS.
FORD ISSUED RECALL 20C03 (NHTSA 20V-097) TO CORRECT AN ISSUE WITH THE INTENSITY OF THE DAYLIGHT RUNNING LIGHTS ON CERTAIN F150 TRUCKS. WITHOUT INFORMING THE CUSTOMER THE REPROGRAMMING OF THE BODY CONTROL MODULE ALSO NOW ACTIVATES THE PARKING LIGHTS WHENEVER THE DAYLIGHT RUNNING LIGHTS ARE ACTIVATED. IN CALIFORNIA, VEHICLE CODE SECTION 24800 PROHIBITS THE ACTIVATION OF THE PARKING LIGHTS IN CONJUNCTION WITH THE DAYLIGHT RUNNING LIGHTS WHILE DRIVING. I FILED A COMPLAINT WITH FORD MOTOR CO., AND THEIR RESPONSE WAS THEY HAVE NO INTENTION OF FIXING THIS. THAT THEY DON'T CARE WHAT CALIFORNIA LAW SAYS. I SPOKE WITH THE LOCAL CALIFORNIA HIGHWAY PATROL OFFICE AND THEY CONFIRMED I COULD BE ISSUED A CITATION FOR THIS INFRACTION. NOW THE ONLY RECOURSE IS TO ALWAYS DRIVE WITH THE DAYLIGHT RUNNING LIGHTS OFF SO THE PARKING LIGHTS ARE NOT ACTIVATED WITH THEM WHILE DRIVING. THE WORK WAS PERFORMED ON 10/27/2020 BY THE LOCAL FORD DEALER.
VEHICLE SHUT OFF WHILE DRIVING 30 MPH DOWN THE HIGHWAY. DASH DISPLAY SAID AUTO SHUTOFF, SHIFT TO PARK AND RESTART. THE AUTO SHUTOFF WAS DISABLED WHEN THIS HAPPENED.
THE VACUUM ACTUATOR TRIES TO ENGAGE THE FOUR WHEEL DRIVE ON IT'S OWN. IT IS A COMMON PROBLEM ON THE F150S. MY TRUCK TRIES TO RANDOMLY ENGAGE THE FOUR WHEEL DRIVE SYSTEM EVERY 50-75 MILES, TYPICALLY AT 55-65MPH ON THE HIGHWAY. WHEN THIS OCCURS YOU CAN HEAR THE CV AXELS GRINDING AGAINST THE TRANSFER CASE GEAR UNTIL YOU SLOW DOWN OR PHYSICALLY ENGAGE THE 4X4 SYSTEM. THIS WILL EVENTUALLY WEAR OUT THE FRONT DRIVETRAIN OR WORSE, FURTHER ENGAGE UNEXPECTEDLY AND POTENTIALLY LEADING TO LOSS OF CONTROL AND COLLISION.
WITHOUT ANY IMPACT THE BACK GLASS WAS SHATTERED. WE JUST CLOSE THE DOOR AFTER A WASH IN THE WASHING STATION AND SUDDENLY EXPLODED.
FRONT USB PORTS OFTEN DISCONNECT INTERMITTENTENTLY CAUSING LOSS OF PHONE CHARGING AND ANDROID AUTO TO DISCONNECT. THIS CAUSES LOSS OF NAVIGATION AND MUCH FUMBLING WITH PHONE AND USB CABLE TO TRY AND RECONNECT WHILE DRIVING, RESULTING IN DRIVER DISTRACTION. THIS HAPPENS WHEN THE VEHICLE IS IN MOTION ON CITY STREETS AND ON HIGHWAYS.
IN HEAVY RAIN ON 10/15/2020 VEHICLE PULLED HARD TO THE LEFT. RESULTING IN VEHICLE HYDROPLANING OF OF I26 AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS. WENT INTO THE MEDIAN HITTING A BUNCH OF SMALL TREES AND TEARING UP THE VEHICLE. I BARELY MISSED A LARGE TREE THAT WOULD HAVE RESULTED IN INJURIES TO ME AND MY 6 YEAR OLD SON. LUCKILY NO INJURIES WHERE SUSTAINED. PREVIOUS TO THE INCIDENT I HAVE BEEN EXPERIENCING OCCASIONAL PULLING TO THE LEFT. ALSO A GRINDING NOISE. BELIEVE TO HAVE A PROBLEM ON THE LEFT FROM SIDE. INCIDENTS WHERE SO OCCASIONAL THAT I DID NOT TAKE VEHICLE TO DEALER FOR REPAIR BELIEVING THAT THEY WOULD NOT BE ABLE TO FIND AN ISSUE THAT HAPPENED ONLY VERY RARELY. (MAYBE ONCE PER MONTH) AFTER THE INCIDENT I GOT LOOKING AROUND AND FOUND A TECHNICAL SERVICE BULLETIN FROM FORD THAT I BELIEVE IS RELATED TO THIS ISSUE. FORD SHOULD BE RECALLING VEHICLES FOR THIS SO THAT PEOPLE ARE NOT INJURED. BULLETIN NUMBER IS 18-2273. PICS AND BULLETIN ATTACHED.
THE VEHICLE DID NOT AUTOMATICALLY START WHEN RELEASING BRAKE AT A STOP LIGHT. NEEDED TO BE PUT BACK INTO PARK AND TURNED OVER USING KEY. VEHICLE WAS FUNCTIONING NORMALLY BEFORE THIS TOOK PLACE AND TEMPERATURE OUTSIDE WAS ABOVE 50 DEGREES.
The contact owns a 2018 Ford F-150. The contact stated that the vehicle was running rough while idling and the engine was making an abnormal rattling sound. The check engine warning light was illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, where the cam phasers were replaced; however, the failure recurred several times. The contact stated that while the vehicle was idling at a traffic light, the failure recurred, and the vehicle stalled on two occasions. The contact was able to restart the vehicle. The vehicle was taken to a second dealer, AutoNation Ford Panama City (730 W 15th St, Panama City, FL 32401), where it was diagnosed that the cam phaser needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The contact related the failure to Ford Campaign Numbers: 21N03, 21B10, and 21N08. The manufacturer was notified of the failure, but no assistance was provided. The failure mileage was approximately 58,414.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2018 FORD F-150. THE CONTACT STATED WHILE DRIVING 40 MPH, THERE WAS GAP BETWEEN THE DOOR AND THE DOOR FRAME. THE DRIVER'S SIDE DOOR DETACHED WHEN THE DOOR WAS OPENED. THE CONTACT STATED SHE HAD TO ENTER AND EXIT THROUGH THE PASSENGER'S SIDE DOOR. THERE WERE NO WARNING LIGHTS ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO BROWN'S FORD OF JOHNSTOWN (121 N COMRIE AVE, JOHNSTOWN, NY 12095, (518) 762-4609) AND WAS INFORMED THAT THE DOOR HINGES NEEDED TO BE REPLACED HOWEVER, THE PARTS WERE ON BACK ORDER. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT CONTACTED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 15,000.
THE REAR WINDOW ON MY 2018 FORD F-150 SHATTERED ON BOTH SIDES OF THE MIDDLE SLIDING WINDOW WITH NO IMPACT. THE REAR WINDOW SHATTERED OUTWARD TOWARDS THE BED OF THE TRUCK AND AND NOT INSIDE FURTHER CONFIRMING THE SHATTERED WINDOW WAS NOT DUE TO IMPACT OF ANY KIND. MY TRUCK WAS PARKED STATIONARY AT MY OFFICE PARKING GARAGE ON AN 80-85 DEGREE DAY WHEN THE REAR WINDOW RANDOMLY SHATTERED OUTWARD. THE EDGES OF THE GLASS THAT ATTACHED TO THE FRAME OF THE TRUCK CAB ALSO SHATTERED AND "SPIDER WEBBED" ACROSS THE ENTIRE REAR WINDOW JUST AS A BUILDING WINDOW BREAKS WHEN UNDER STRESS FROM STRUCTURAL MOVEMENT OR SHIFTING. THE REAR WINDOW CLEARLY SHATTERED OUTWARD FROM STRESS ON THE GLASS WHILE MY TRUCK WAS PARKED AND NOT MOVING. I HAVE RESEARCHED THIS INCIDENT AND FOUND THAT MANY OTHER FORD TRUCKS HAVE EXPERIENCED THE REAR WIND SPONTANEOUSLY SHATTERING WITH NO IMPACT. THIS IS A SERIOUS SAFETY HAZARD AND I AM RELIEVED THAT I WAS NOT OPERATING THE VEHICLE WHEN THE WINDOW SPONTANEOUSLY SHATTERED.
REAR WINDOW SHATTERED WITHOUT ANY IMPACT. ALL OF A SUDDEN WHILE DRIVING IN DRY 70 DEGREE WEATHER I HEARD WIND NOISE AND WHEN I LOOKED OVER MY SHOULDER I NOTICED THE REAR WINDOW HAS COMPLETELY SHATTERED EXCEPT FOR THE SLIDER WINDOW,
VEHICLE HAS HARD SHIFTS AND HAS BEEN REPROGRAMMED 3 TIMES IN THE LAST YEAR. PCM WAS REPROGRAMMED DUE TO A CHAIN RATTLE OR SLAPPING AT 1500-2000RPMS, GAS MILEAGE HAS WENT TO 13-14 MPG HIGHWAY AFTER LAST ATTEMPT TO FIX.
TRANSMISSION SHIFTS ERRATICALLY AND HARSHLY, MOSTLY DURING IN TOWN SITUATIONS. THE TRANSMISSION DOESN'T RESPOND QUICKLY ENOUGH TO CHANGES IS ACCELERATOR CAUSING LATE AND UNEXPECTED SHIFTS. IN ONE INSTANCE, I WAS GOING UP A STEAP CITY HILL, THE TRUCK SLOWED AND I CONTINUED TO SLOWLY INCREASE PEDAL INPUT TO GET UP THE HILL. ALL OF A SUDDEN THE TRANSMISSION HAD UNCONTROLLABLY DROPPED SEVERAL GEARS AND SEEING THAT THE TRANSMISSION HADN'T DOWN SHIFTED, THE ACCELERATOR WAS NEARLY TO THE FLOOR. THE VEHICLE UNEXPECTEDLY TOOK OFF AT THAT POINT. LUCKILY NO ONE WAS NEAR BY, BUT IF I WAS IN A TRAFFIC SITUATION OR HAD THERE BEEN ANY PEDESTRIANS NEAR, SOMEONE COULD OF BEEN KILLED. I'VE TAKEN THIS VEHICLE INTO FORD DOZENS OF TIMES SINCE NEW AN THY HAVE REPLACED THE VALVE BODY TWICE. THE TRANSMISSION ISSUES HAVE NOT CHANGED.
Adaptive cruise control randomly fails. Has failed 25 times since sept 19, 2020
MY RAPTOR HAD BEEN PARKED IN GARAGE FOR SEVERAL DAYS, WHEN I OPENED DOOR TO GET OUT SOMETHING. UPON CLOSING THE DOOR THE BACK WINDOW EXPLODED OUTWARDLY. I STUDIED THIS ONLINE OVER THE WEEKEND AND FOUND MANY COMPLAINTS ON IT. FORD REFUSES TO ACKNOWLEDGE A PROBLEM. IT WAS BETWEEN 65-70 WHEN THIS HAPPENED. MOST COMPLAINTS SAID IT HAPPENED WHILE THEY WAS DRIVING. FORD INSISTS SOMETHING HIT THEM. ALL OF THEM OVER THE YEARS?? MINE WAS PARKED IN GARAGE WITH ANOTHER CAR IN PERFECT WEATHER. WE ARE GRATEFUL OUR SMALL GRANDCHILDREN WASN'T CLOSE. THE FORCE CAN BE SEEN IN THE PICTURES. FORD NEEDS TO BE MADE TO FIX THIS ISSUE. THEY REFUSED OUR WARRANTY WHEN TRUCK ONLY HAS 22,000 MILES.
Regarding 2013-2018 F-150 vacuum system trying to engage the AWD system resulting in noise up front sounds like dragging metal. 2018 Ford F-150 with the grinding noise out of the front hubs. Had this going on for 1 1/2yrs & been in the shop 2-3 times with recurring every time. Found a YouTube that referenced a Technical Service Bulletin. I TOOK THE TSB TO THE DEALERSHIP SERVICE TECH and here’s what’s on the invoice.. confirmed customer concern, found there was a grinding racheting noise coming from the front end of the vehicle when driving in 2wd, found tsb 22-2019 for this concern following the tsb found the vehicle was equipped with auto 4wd, tsb stated to REMOVE THE VACUUM SUPPLY LINE TO THE IWE SOLENOID AND INSTALL 2 VACUUM CAPS IN THEIR PLACE. This is at Ford’s direction. Disable the system so that 2wd no longer active. It’s AWD all the time. Still can shift into 4wd. Tech says this issue is so prevalent that that’s Ford’s answer.. Unacceptable. Disable the 2wd drive because they can’t work the problem.
WHILE DRIVING, THERE HAS BEEN ROUGH INTERMITTENT SHIFTS/ACCELERATION, PARTICULARLY FROM A STOPPED POSITION. I HAVE NOTICED IT HAPPENS BETWEEN 5-7 GEARS. VEHICLE WILL BE STOPPED AT A STOP LIGHT, AS YOU ACCELERATE, THE VEHICLE WILL GO THROUGH FIRST FEW GEARS WITH NORMAL ACCELERATION AND PICK UP SPEED, THE SUDDEN JERKING OF THE VEHICLE SEEMS LIKE IT JUST DID AN ENGINE BREAK(?). VEHICLE WILL BE ACCELERATING TO 40+ MPH AND FEEL AS IF IT DID A SUDDEN BRAKE AND DECELERATE RAPIDLY TO THAN RESUME ACCELERATION. ADDITIONALLY, WHEN VEHICLE IS PARKED, WHEN SWITCHING BETWEEN PARK AND DRIVE OR PARK AND REVERSE, THE SHIFT IS SOMETIMES ROUGH AS IF THE CLUTCH WAS NEVER ENGAGED AND IT WAS FORCED INTO THE DRIVE MODE. NOT ONLY WILL THE BE A LARGE NOISE, BUT A SLIGHT JERK. ALSO, I HAVE HAD MY PHASERS REPLACED ALREADY DUE TO LOUD ENGINE NOISE.
SYNC3 IS A NIGHTMARE LEADING TO EXTREME DISTRACTED DRIVING. BLUETOOTH DROPS OFF, BUTTONS FREEZE OR ARE SLOW (20-30 SECONDS+) TO RESPOND OR NOT RESPOND. ANY FUNCTION TIED TO SYNC3 DOES NOT FUNCTION PROPERLY. NAVIGATION, PHONE, MUSIC, AIR/HEAT, BLUETOOTH, CARPLAY ETC. VARIES DAY BY DAY, MINUTE BY MINUTE. GOOGLE IT. WELL KNOWN PROBLEM. IT IS IMPOSSIBLE TO GO HANDS FREE. HAPPENS DRIVING AND STATIONARY.
TRANSMISSION GEAR SHIFTS ARE CLUNKING AND NOISING AND SOMETIMES SLIPS GEARS MAINLY AROUND 3 AND 6 GEARS
MY 2018 F150 BEGAN HAVING STEERING ASSIST FAILURE AT APPROX 50,000 MILES. THERE HAVE BEEN TWO OCASSIONS WHERE WHILE DRIVING STEERING ASSIST GOES OUT AND THE STEERING WHEEL GETS STIFF ALMOST CAUSING ME TO COLLIDE WITH OTHER VEHICLES. I CONTACTED FORD ABOUT THE ISSUE AND AS THEY ARE AWARE THE ONLY SOLUTION WAS TO REPLACE THE RACK AND PINION AT MY EXPENSE.AT 63,000 MILES MY PICK UP HAS NO POWER STEERING.
CONTROL MODULE FOR THE POWERTRAIN IS MALFUNCTIONING CAUSING PROBLEMS WITH OVERALL DRIVING VEHICLE. I WAS GETTING LUNCH AND WHILE DRIVING BACK TO THE OFFICE A WRENCH SENSOR SHOWED UP ON MY DASH. I STOPPED AND HAD TO LOOK UP WHAT THE ICON MEANT AND APPARENTLY IT HAD SOMETHING TO DO WITH THE POWERTRAIN ON MY VEHICLE. I IMMEDIATELY CALLED THE DEALERSHIP AND HAD IT LOOKED AT. THEY INFORMED ME IT WAS A CONTROL MODULE PROBLEM AND ORDERED A NEW ONE FOR ME.
WHEN SHIFTING INTO 4TH GEAR THE VEHICLE WILL SHIFT ROUGHLY ALMOST AS A BRAKE TAP BEFORE AUTOMATICALLY INCREASING ON ITS OWN TO 25-28MPH. THIS EVEN OCCURS WITH SPEED CONTROL ON. ALL OF THIS OCCURS WHILE IN MOTION ON CITY STREETS AND ENTERING HIGHWAYS. THIS HAS BEEN OCCURRING FOR THE PAST 8 MONTHS. EVERY TIME THE VEHICLE IS IN MOTION.
We purchased our Ford F-150 June 2020 and began having issues with it running hot August 2020. After having it checked numerous times and having to add extra coolant weekly the dealership checked and there was an issue with the Turbo-exhaust converter leaking coolant, eventually leading to a catalytic converter issue as well as the spark plugs having to be replaced due to having coolant leaked all over them. Recently, the dealership checked, and they also discovered an issue with the ERG cooler leaking and that had to be replaced as well. The dealership had the replacement parts on back order for 2 years.
