PURCHASED THIS VEHICLE WITH 36K MILES (2018) AND HAVE OWNED FOR LESS THAN ONE MONTH. WHEN TRYING TO OPEN THE SUNROOF FOR THE FIRST TIME THERE WAS A LOUD POPPING SOUND. THE SUNROOF FAILS TO OPEN, AND NOW RAIN LEAKS IN THROUGH THE ROOF. THIS SHOULD NOT HAPPEN ON A $72K VEHICLE THAT IS TWO YEARS OLD. SINCE THE VEHICLE IS OVER 36K MILES, THE DEALERSHIP (FORD DEALER) REFUSES TO FIX.
MY TRUCK HAD A TOTAL POWERING STEERING FAILURE TODAY(4-12-2020). NO ADVANCED WARNING. THE TRUCK WAS BEING DRIVEN WHEN THE FAILURE OCCURRED. THANK GOD NO ACCIDENT!
F-150 WILL SOMETIMES ROLL WHEN PARKED ON AN INCLINE. THE PROBLEM IS INTERMITTENT, AND THE F-150 WILL NOT ALWAYS ROLL. SO FAR, THE F-150 WILL ONLY ROLL BETWEEN 6' TO 24'.
I purchased a new Ford F150 with the 5.0 L V8 engine in April 2018. After the third oil change, I recognized what seemed to me to be an excessive oil consumption problem. After checking my dipstick every 300-400 miles, it appeared the consumption was about 1 quart of oil per 1000 miles. I reported this to the dealer and they applied TSB 18-2354 in April 2020. This included a reprogramming of the PCM and a new dip stick. Initially this TSB appeared to reduce some consumption. However, now in May 2022, it appears that my consumption is around 24 ounces per 1000 miles, which I feel is still excessive. My use of the vehicle is for local transportation and I have only towed 3 small trailers over the last 4 years. Therefore, the vehicle has always been operated well within the manufacturers specifications. I always use Ford motor oil 5W-20. I know there is a Class Action lawsuit against Ford over this issue. There are numerous complaints on the internet. I submit this complaint to document my problem before the 5 year engine warranty expires. I can also report the "decelleration rattle" that occurs when the engine is at low RPM, generally when cold. This rattle is not always present but I have seen it described in other complaints. To date, it does not seem to affect engine performance.
TODAY, I SUBMIT THIS COMPLAINT FOR THE UNEXPECTED SHATTERING OF MY FORD F150 REAR GLASS WINDOW, AT NO FAULT OF MY OWN!! IUNOCCUPIED, THE VEHICLE, 2018 F150 ,WAS PARKED IN MY DRIVEWAY WHEN I NOTICED THE REAR WINDOW SHATTERED ON THE RIGHT AND LEFT SIDE OF THE GLASS. THE SLIDER REAR WINDOW WAS NOT SHATTERED AND NO OBJECT STUCK THE GLASS! FROM THE INTERIOR OF THE VEHICLE, THE REAR WINDOW APPEARED TO SEPARATE FROM THE ROOF SEAM AND SMALL PIECES OF GLASS LAY ON THE BED COVER. THE TOP CORNERS OF THE EXTERIOR GLASS WERE SHATTERED AND THE REAR GLASS APPEARED TO BUCKLED. APPROXIMATELY 1 HOURS EARLIER, I DROVE TO THE GAS STATION AND UPON MY RETURN PARKED THE VEHICLE IN MY RESIDENTIAL DRIVEWAY. THE REAR WINDOW WAS IN TACT AND THE WEATHER WAS WARM. APPROXIMATELY 30 MINUTES LATER I BEGAN WATERING FLOWERS IN THE BACKYARD AND MADE MY WAY TO THE FRONT YARD. THE SPLINTERED PIECES OF GLASS WERE NOTICED ON THE TRUCK BED COVER BEFORE THE ACTUAL SHATTERED GLASS PANEL. THIS TRUCK IS ONLY TWO YEARS OLD AND I AM SURPRISE THERE HAS NOT BEEN A RECALL. IT APPEARS THIS REAR WINDOW PROBLEM IS HEAVILY DOCUMENTED AND HAS BEEN PUTTING PEOPLE'S LIVES AT RISK FOR YEARS. DUE TO THIS DANGEROUS MANUFACTURING FLAW, MANY LIVES CONTINUE TO BE AT RISK! UNDER NO CIRCUMSTANCES SHOULD I HAVE TO PAY FOR THE GLASS REPAYMENT OR PAY A DEDUCTIBLE TO THE INSURANCE COMPANY. HOPEFULLY YOU WILL REVIEW ALL THE COMPLAINTS AND FORCE SOMEONE TO PUT THEIR CONSUMERS FIRST!! IN ADDITION, PHOTOS WERE TAKEN OF THE GLASS DAMAGE.THANKS FOR YOUR TIME AND CONSIDERATION IN THIS MATTER!
The contact owns a 2018 Ford F-150. The contact stated while starting the vehicle, there was a rattling sound coming from underneath the vehicle. There were no warning lights illuminated. The vehicle had been taken to the dealer who diagnosed that the cam phaser had failed and needed to be replaced. The vehicle had been repaired under Customer Satisfaction Program: 21N03 (Cam Phaser Replacement). The failure reoccurred at approximately 108,000 miles. The failure caused the timing chain to fail. The contact was informed that the timing chain needed to be replaced. The vehicle had not been repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and referred the contact to the NHTSA Hotline. The approximate failure mileage was 60,000.
The contact owns a 2018 Ford F-150. The contact stated that while driving at an undisclosed speed, the engine made ticking sounds. No warning light was illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, who determined that the engine oil level was low. The dealer added engine oil, and the contact returned to the dealer every week for 3–4 weeks for an oil consumption test. The contact was informed that the engine was consuming an excessive amount of oil, more than the manufacturer's recommended amount. The contact was also informed that the engine needed to be replaced; however, the vehicle was not covered under warranty. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 30,000.
THERE IS A TICKING RATTLE SOUND FROM THE TOP OF THE ENGINE AREA. THE SOUND IS NOTICEABLY LOUDER AFTER STARTING THEN THE VOLUME DROPS A LEVEL, BUT STILL STEADY SOUND THERE AFTER, MOVING OR NOT.
WHILE VEHICLE IS SITTING STATIONARY OR PARKED. DURING RAINY WEATHER WATER LEAKS IN AT TOP OF REAR DOOR AT THE TOP LATCH WHERE IT RUNS DOWN THROUGH THE PANEL EXITING AT THE FIRST SEAM WHERE IT RUNS DOWN THE OUTSIDE OF THE DOOR PANEL TO THE MAT. THE SEAT BELT BEHIND THE PANEL GETS WET AND WATER GETS ON THE ELECTRIC DOOR LOCK WINDOW CONTROLS. THE WATER RUNS FORWARD TO THE FRONT PASSENGER FLOOR WHERE IT COLLECTS (BY THE GALLON) UNDER AND ON TOP OF THE FLOOR MAT.
WHILE DRIVING 75 MPH I FLOORED THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL TO PASS A VEHICLE IN AN 80 MPH ZONE. THE TRANSMISSION DOWN SHIFTED FROM 10TH GEAR TO 6TH GEAR SO HARD I THOUGHT I HAD BEEN REAR-ENDED. I HAVE BEEN ABLE TO DUPLICATE THE SITUATION 2 ADDITIONAL TIMES.
2018 FORD F-150 TRANSMISSION GEAR SHIFTING IS ERRATIC BOTH WHEN ACCELERATING AND BRAKING ON THE HIGHWAY. SOME SHIFTS TAKE A LONG TIME, SOME SHIFTS SKIP A GEAR, SOME SHIFTS ARE VERY HARD, SHAKING THE TRUCK. HAPPENING MORE OFTEN WHILE ON LONG TRIPS.
AT <30,000 MILES THE ENGINE WOULD MAKE A 'DIESEL' LIKE RATTLE FOR SEVERAL SECONDS ON A COLD START. BROUGHT THE VEHICLE TO MY FORD CANADA DEALER AND THEY IMMEDIATELY DIAGNOSED THE ISSUE AS A CAM PHASER PROBLEM AND ORDERED THE PARTS/REPLACED THE CAM PHASERS UNDER WARRANTY. I NOW LIVE IN THE USA, AND AM HOPEFUL THAT THE PROBLEM IS PERMANENTLY RESOLVED VS HAVING A COSTLY REPAIR AT A LATER DATE OUTSIDE OF THE WARRANTY PERIOD. I HAVE FOLLOWED ALL THE MANUFACTURER MAINTENANCE RECOMMENDATIONS AND PRE-PAID FOR 5 YEARS OF SERVICE.
2018 10 SPEED TRANSMISSION ON EXPRESSWAY DISPLAYS LOSS OF POWER RESULTING IN VERY DANGEROUS CONDITION AT 70MPH. ISSUE CAN LAST 20 SECONDS. TRANSMISSION SHIFTING IS POOR AT EXPRESSWAY SPEEDS AND ALSO CAN RESULT IN DELAY SHIFTING,HIGH RPM REVING,AND ACLUNK FROM FINAL GEAR ENGAGEMENT. DANGEROUS HIGH-SPEED CONDITION.
SMELL OF GASOLINE IN PASSENGER CABIN AFTER DRIVING AND HEATER ON (STATIONARY). STARTED IN MARCH. DEALER ATTEMPTED A REPAIR WHICH HELPED. NOW WITH COLD WEATHER AND HEATER ON AGAIN THE PROBLEM HAS RETURNED VERY BADLY.
I HAVE BEEN HAVING PROBLEMS WITH THE 10 SPEED TRANSMISSION ON MY 2018 F-150 SINCE I BOUGHT IT NEW IN 2018 HAVING JERKY, HARSH SHIFTS WHILE GOING DOWN THE HIGHWAY. ALSO CLUNKY SHIFTS AT LOW SPEEDS BETWEEN 4TH AND 5TH AND 5TH AND 6TH GEARS. I AM CONCERNED ABOUT THIS BEING A SAFETY ISSUE AND ALSO CAN SHORTEN THE LIFE OF THE TRANSMISSION. MANY OTHER FORD CUSTOMERS ARE HAVING THE SAME ISSUE WITH THE F-150 TRUCKS WITH THE 10 SPEED TRANSMISSIONS. I CALLED FORD CORPORATE OFFICE AND FILED A COMPLAINT. FORD NEEDS TO STEP UP TO THE PLATE AND ISSUE A RECALL ON THESE TRANSMISSIONS AND CORRECT THE ISSUE BEFORE SOMEONE GETS INJURED OR KILLED.
REAR DIFFERENTIAL FILLED WITH WATER FROM THE BREATHER TUBE, TWICE, CAUSING BEARINGS TO BE REPLACED, TWICE
DOORS DO NOT LATCH WHEN COLD OUTSIDE. WHEN STATIONARY, THE FRONT AND REAR PASSENGER DOORS AS WELL AS THE LEFT PASSENGER DOOR HAS THIS ISSUE WHERE THE DOOR WILL OPEN, BUT WILL NOT LATCH WHEN CLOSED. SOMETIMES I CAN LOCK THE DOORS WITH THEM OPEN TO GET THEM TO LATCH, BUT THEN WHEN I GO TO OPEN THE DOOR AGAIN, IT WILL STAY LOCKED AND WILL NOT OPEN. THIS IS OBVIOUSLY A SAFETY HAZARD, ESPECIALLY IF THERE IS A CHILD IN THE BACK AND YOU CAN'T ACCESS THEM THROUGH THE DOOR YOU PUT THEM IN THROUGH.
VEHICLE CONSUMED A FEW QUARTS OF OIL BEFORE IT'S NEXT OIL CHANGE WAS DUE. JUST BOUGHT THE TRUCK WITH LOW MILEAGE. NO REASON FOR IT TO CONSUME LIKE THAT. NO LEAKS. NOTICED WHEN A CHANGE OIL SOON WARNING CAME UP AS I BACKED OUT OF MY DRIVEWAY.THOUGH IT WAS ODD CONSIDERING IT WAS PREMATURE. WHEN I CHECKED, ALMOST NO OIL WAS ON THE DIPSTICK. IT WAS FULL 5 WEEKS AGO WHEN I CHECKED IT LAST.
ON A RELATIVELY COLD MORNING AROUND 32 DEGREES I STARTED TRUCK LET IT WARM UP A COUPLE MINUTES THEN BACKED OUT OF GARAGE AND DROVE DOWN STREET, WHEN I WENT AROUND CORNER I SLOWED A BIT AND TRUCK JERKED AND HALF WAY AROUND CORNER I TRIED TO ACCELERATE AND ENGINE RPMS REV'D UP AS IF TRANS HAD GONE INTO NEUTRAL. I LET OFF THE ACCELERATOR AND TRANS FELT LIKE IT CLUNKED INTO A LOWER GEAR AND THEN ACCELERATED FINE. THIS HAPPENED UNDER 20MPH BUT APPEARED TO DOWNSHIFT INTO 1ST GEAR WHICH FELT LIKE THAT WASN'T THE CORRECT GEAR FOR THE SPEED.
VERY NOTICEABLE BANGING SOUND FROM TRANSMISSION WHEN VEHICLE IS PUT INTO EITHER REVERSE OR DRIVE, OR AT TIMES WHEN YOU STEP ON THE GAS PEDAL TO ACCELERATE. SEEMS INTERMITTENT BUT VERY NOTICEABLE WHEN IT OCCURS.
DOOR LATCH FREEZES. DOOR REMAINS UNLATCHED/OPEN WHEN FROZEN
Transmission shifts hard, also unnecessarily will drop down a gear when driving, then goes back in right gear. The problem would not duplicate when I took it to the dealership. No warning lights. Problem started about a year after we bought it, took it to the dealership and the technician said he updated the computer, but it only helped for about 6 months. The hard shifting does not occur every time you put it into drive or park, but it does do it quite often and is getting worse every day.

THE CONTACT SON HAD TO WAIT SEVERAL MINUTES TO WARM THE VEHICLE BEFORE HE WAS ABLE TO DRIVE. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO (BLUE RIDGE NORTH GEORGIA FORD LOCATED AT 7525 APPALACHIAN HWY, MINERAL BLUFF, GA 30559) BUT WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE BUT OFFERED NO ASSISTANCE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 50,000. THE VIN WAS NOT AVAILABLE.
THE FRONT PASSENGER DOOR WILL NOT LOCK IN PLACE, RESULTING IN THE DOOR OPENING WHILE DRIVING OR SITTING STILL.
IN AUSTIN TX, MY FORD F-150 CAUGHT FIRE WHILE DRIVING ON I-35 FOR NO APPARENT REASON. I WAS ABLE TO EXIT THE VEHICLE QUICKLY BUT THE VEHICLE WAS A TOTAL LOSS. SCREENSHOTS OF THE VIDEOS ARE ATTACHED AND VIDEOS OF THE INCIDENT CAN BE SENT UPON REQUEST.
I FEEL THERE IS A TRANSMISSION ISSUE. WHEN PARKED AND STARTING THE VEHICLE THERE IS A LOUD BANG FROM UNDER THE TRUCK. IT ALSO SHIFT HARSHLY WHEN DRIVING AT TIMES, OTHER TIMES ITS SHIFTS ARE DELAYED.
WHEN THE TRUCK GETS COLD AROUND 30DEGREES, THE DRIVERS DOOR AND THE PASSENGER REAR DOORS WILL NOT LATCH OR STAY SHUT. BEEN TO THE FORD DEALER TWO TIMES TO FIX THE PROBLEM AND STILL IS A VERY BIG SAFETY ISSUE. THE DO'S WILL NOT REMAIN CLOSED. LUCKILY MY TRUCK WAS IN THE DRIVEWAY OF MY HOME WHEN THIS HAPPENED ALL 3 TIMES.
DRIVERS DOOR WILL NOT LATCH IN COLD TEMPERATURES. HAPPENS PERIODICALLY WHEN VEHICLE IS STATIONARY OR IN MOTION.COULD POSSIBLY BE THE LATCH MECHANISM IN THE DOOR. SEEMS UNSAFE NOT KNOWING IF THE DOOR WILL STAY LATCHED OR NOT WHILE DRIVING.
THE STEERING ON THIS VEHICLE WILL LOCK IN PLACE WHEN MAKING A LEFT TURN. YOU HAVE TO PHYSICALLY FORCE THE STEERING WHEEL TO RELEASE TO KEEP FROM EITHER CROSSING THE CENTER LINE OR RUNNING OFF THE ROAD. THIS HAPPENS AT SPEED AROUND 50 MPH AND UP. HAVE NOT WRECKED IT YET BUT HAVE COME CLOSE.WE HAVE HAD IT IN THE FORD DEALER 4 TIMES WITH NOT SUCCESS YET.
I HAVE A BROKEN DRIVER SIDE BUCKET SEAT ON MY 2018 FORD F-150 XLT WITH CONSOLE I PAID EXTRA FOR THIS SEAT (HIGHER PRICED OPTION) WHEN I PURCHASED NEW 2 YEARS AGO . I CALLED FORD DEALER I PURCHASED FROM THEY ADVISED TO HAVE IT FIXED AT LOCAL DEALER DUE TO 200 MILE DRIVE TO THEM. I TOOK TO ALTON BLAKELY FORD SALES AND SERVICE SOMERSET KY FOR REPAIR AND THE SERVICE DEPARTMENT STATED THAT IT WAS NORMAL WEAR NOT COVERED UNDER WARRANTY OR RECALL. THE SEAT IS NOT WORN IT LOOKS NEW! THE TRUCK LOOKS AND RUNS PERFECT, THE SEAT FRAME IS PROBLEM! I WEIGH 235LBS AND 6 FOOT? THE SEAT IS BROKEN TO APPOINT THAT I DON'T TRUST WEARING SHOULDER SEAT BELT DUE TO WHEN SEAT FALLS BACK I CAN'T PULL MYSELF UP TO STEER. THE PROBLEM CAN BE FELT 1 TO 70 MPH ROAD OR PARKING LOT. RANDOM SEAT FAILURE WHILE IN OPERATION AND IF SEAT FAILS AND DRIVER HITS BRAKES THE SEAT BELT LOCKS YOU DOWN. I'VE REPAIRED IT BUT THE ONES WE MEET ON ROAD COULD FAIL ANYTIME! FORD STATES NO RECALL ON THIS? IT IS LISTED ON THIS GOVERNMENT WEBSITE AS A RECALL? I'VE PURCHASED SEVEN NEW FORDS SINCE 1980= NEVER AGAIN!
TAILGATE OPENED INVOLUNTARIRLY, WHILST I WAS DRIVING ON A HIGHWAY WITHOUT ANY INPUT FROM ME. THE DOORS WHERE LOCKED. I AM NOT SURE WHEN THE TAILGATE OPENED AS THERE ARE NO INDICATORS IN THE CAB OF THE TRUCK. I LOST THE CONTENTS OF THE BED, I WENT BACK AND RETRIEVED THE ITEMS WHICH WERE DAMAGED. FORD ARE TELLING ME THEY WILL TAKE A LOOK AND SEE WHAT THEY CAN DO.
10 SPEED TRANSMISSION HAS A PRETTY CONSISTENT HISTORY OF SHIFTING ROUGHLY, ESPECIALLY, SHIFTING BETWEEN GEARS 3 & 4. IT ACTUALLY FAILS TO ENGAGE FORWARD BRIEFLY AND THEN MAKES A CLANGING NOISE BEFORE IT SHIFTS INTO 4TH GEAR; IN SPORT MODE IT WILL STICK IN 6TH GEAR. I HAVE REPORTED THESE PROBLEMS AT LEAST 4 TIMES TO SHOTTENKIRK FORD IN JASPER GA WHEN I HAVE HAD SCHEDULED MAINTENANCE PERFORMED. EVERY TIME I'VE BROUGHT MY TRUCK IN FOR SERVICE I WAS JUST TOLD A DIFFERENT EXCUSE AND THEY FOUND NOTHING WRONG WITH THE TRANSMISSION. THE MOST RECENT SERVICE THE SERVICE DEPARTMENT SAID MY TRUCK WAS 2 QUARTS LOW ON TRANSMISSION FLUID AND THAT SHOULD FIX THE PROBLEM. MY MOST RECENT AND MOST CONCERNING INCIDENT OCCURRED WHILE I WAS DRIVING DOWN THE INTERSTATE AND SUDDENLY THERE WAS A LOUD POPPING NOISE, THE TRUCK BEGAN TO SWERVE BECAUSE OF LOSS OF POWER AND THEN IT KEPT TRYING TO SHIFT IN BETWEEN GEARS AND THEN I NOTICED WHITE SMOKE COMING FROM THE REAR OF MY TRUCK. THE CARS THAT HAD FOLLOWED ME STARTED TO DROP BACK BECAUSE MY TRUCK WAS SPRAYING WHAT I BELIEVE TO HAVE BEEN TRANSMISSION FLUID OUT. I WAS OUT OF TOWN AND HAD TO HAVE THE TRUCK TOWED TO A DEALERSHIP IN COLUMBIA SC AND AFTER THEY CHECKED THE DIP STICK FOR THE TRANSMISSION FLUID AND CLAIMED IT HAD TOO MUCH TRANSMISSION FLUID AND IT WAS NOT A WARRANTIED ITEM AND THAT MY TRUCK WAS FINE TO DRIVE. THIS TRANSMISSION PROBLEM HAS BEEN QUITE AGGRAVATING BUT NOW IT POSES A SERIOUS HAZARD TO ME AND MY FAMILY.
THE DOORS DO NOT LATCH WHEN IT IS 32 DEGREES F OR COLDER. IT HAS BEEN INTO THE DEALERSHIP FOR RECALL 18N03 ON JANUARY 22, 2020. ON 2-02-2020 THE LATCH FROZE AGAIN ALONG WITH ON 2-04-2020, THE VEHICLE IS NOT DRIVABLE. THE RECALL FIX DID WORK. THE DOOR WILL OPEN BUT WILL NOT LATCH. ONCE THE TEMPERATURE RISES, THEY WILL WORK AGAIN.
SINCE SHORTLY AFTER PURCHASED NEW, TRUCK OFTEN LUNGES WHEN YOU FIRST COLD START THE TRUCK, PLACE IT INTO GEAR WITH THE FOOT ON THE BRAKE, AND PLACE IT INTO GEAR. IT ALSO APPEARS TO SEARCH FOR THE CORRECT GEAR WHILE DRIVING UNDER NORMAL CONDITIONS. ALSO, OCCASIONS TRUCK MAY "CLUNK" INTO GEAR WHILE DRIVING. SERVICE DEPARTMENT REPORTS THEY CANNOT RECREATE THE ISSUE BUT AS I'VE STATED, ITS NOT A CONSISTENT PROBLEM AND THERE'S NO DEFINING REASON IT WOULD OCCUR.
MY 2018 F150, AFTER TOWING A TRAILER FOR 2 HRS, DIES WHEN STOPPING AT A LIGHT OR IN A PARKING LOT. IN THE TOW/HAUL MODE THE AUTO-STOP-START SHOULD NOT ENGAGE, BUT THE DASH WARNING LIGHT SAYS "SHIFT TO P, RESTART ENGINE" AUTO STOP-START HAS STOPPED ENGINE. THEN ENGINE DOES NOT START EASY AND SUPTTERS AND DIES SEVERAL TIMES. DEALER TOLD ME NO CODES WERE RECORDED AND PROBLEM COULD NOT BE DUPLICATED BY DRIVING AROUND AND STOPPING. THIS PROBLEM HAPPENED SEVERAL TIMES IN A 2 DAY DRIVE PULLING MY TRAILER.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2018 FORD F-150. THE CONTACT STATED WHILE DRIVING 75 MPH, THE CONTACT HEARD AN ABNORMAL NOISE AND BECAME AWARE THAT THE SUNROOF HAD STARTED TO DETACH FROM THE VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO LOCAL DEALER MAC HAIK'S SOUTHWAY FORD LOCATED AT 7979 INTERSTATE 35 ACCESS RD, SAN ANTONIO, TX 78224, WERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED. THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THE SUNROOF ASSEMBLY NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS INFORMED OF FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 36,100.
WHEN VEHICLE IS STOPPED AND THE AUTO START-STOP IS ENGAGED, MOVING THE VEHICLE STEERING WHEEL BECOMES VERY DIFFICULT. UPON RELEASING THE BRAKE PEDAL, THE VEHICLE WILL START AND BEGIN TO MOVE FORWARD HOWEVER, THE VEHICLE STILL IS EXTREMELY DIFFICULT TO STEER. THIS DIFFICULTY WILL LAST FOR A FEW SECONDS UNTIL POWER STEERING IS RESTORED. THIS PROBLEM STARTED INTERMITTENTLY BUT HAS NOW BECOME A REGULAR EVENT.

THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE PULLING INTO THE PARKING LOT, THE VEHICLE ACCELERATED CAUSING THE CONTACT TO CRASH INTO A PILLAR IN A GARAGE. THE AIR BAGS DEPLOYED BUT IT WAS DEFLATED ON THE PASSENGER SIDE. THE CONTACT SUSTAINED MINOR INJURIES INCLUDING BRUISING BOTH ARMS AND THE PASSENGER WHICH WAS THE CONTACTS CHILD SUSTAINED BRUISING FROM THE SEATBELT. NO MEDICAL ATTENTION WAS SOUGHT. A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED. USAA TOWED THE VEHICLE TO A LOT AND DEEMED THE VEHICLE A TOTAL LOSS. NO DEALER WAS CONTACTED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE AND HAS STARTED AN INVESTIGATION. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 16,000.**JB
THIS IS A CONTINUATION WITH COMPLAINT NUMBER 11307725 ALREADY FILED. FORD F-150 2018 SUPER CREW CAB 2ND DISCOVERY OF WATER LEAK IN CAB OF TRUCK WITH WET CARPET PADDING AND CARPETS AGAIN ONLY THIS TIME THE WATER LEAK WAS BEHIND THE BACK SEATS DOWN THE CAB WALL INTERIOR. CALLED OUR FORD DEALERSHIP BACK AND TOOK OUR TRUCK BACK IN FOR THEM TO ASSESS THIS 2ND WATER LEAK. OUR FORD DEALERSHIP ADVISED THAT THEY HAD TO REMOVE THE TRUCK BED TO FIND THIS WATER LEAK COMING IN FROM THE REAR CAB VENTS AND LOCKING TABS ON VENTS. THEY ALSO FOUND THE CARPET INSULATOR WAS BEHIND THE REAR VENTS WHICH CAUSED THE VENT SEAL TO WARP AND LEAK. THEY HAD TO REPLACE THE REAR VENTS COMPLETELY THEN THEY RETESTED FOR LEAKS AND FOUND NO LEAKS AT THAT TIME. THEY ALSO REPLACED THE TRUCK BED BOLTS AND HAD TO RESPRAY IN THE BED LINER OVER THE BOLTS.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2018 FORD F-150. WHILE DRIVING 40-60 MPH THE LIFT GATE OPEN WITHOUT WARNING, ADDITIONALLY, WHILE THE VEHICLE WAS PARKED IN DRIVEWAY THE LIFT GATE AND WINDOWS FAILED TO OPEN. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO SHEEHY FORD LINCOLN OF GAITHERSBURG 901 N FREDERICK AVE, GAITHERSBURG, MD 20879 (301) 358-4443 WHERE DIAGNOSED THAT RODENTS DAMAGED THE SOY BASE WIRING. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED HOWEVER, THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT CONTACTED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 26,000.
THE FIRST TWO MORNINGS AFTER IT SAT OUTSIDE IN TEMPERATURES IN THE TEENS THE DRIVERS DOOR WOULD NOT OPEN FROM THE OUTSIDE. I HAD TO OPEN IT FROM THE INSIDE BY GETTING IN THROUGH THE PASSENGER SIDE. AFTER STARTING IT L COULD NOT GET THE DOOR TO SHUT UNTIL IT WARMED UP LATTER.
I WAS TAKING MY GRAND DAUGHTER TO SCHOOL AND SHE GOT IN THE FRONT PASSENGER SIDE, SHE CLOSED THE DOOR AND IT WOULD NOT "LATCH" AND WE COULD NOT GET IT TO LATCH TO SECURE THE DOOR FROM OPENING WHILE DRIVING. THIS HAS HAPPENED NUMEROUS TIMES. I WAS AFRAID THE DOOR WOULD OPEN WHILE DRIVING AND FALL OUT (THIS NEEDS FIXED ASAP. ANOTHER PROBLEM IS WHEN DRIVING 60 MPH OR GREATER THE STEERING WILL "CATCH" THAT IS WHEN GOING AROUND A TURN LEFT OR RIGHT WHEN TURNING THE STEERING WHEEL IT KIND OF JERKS AND DOESN'T MAINTAIN CONSTANT TURN IT SEEMS TO LOOSE A CONSTANT CONTROL. THIS CAN CAUSE AN OVER CORRECTION AND LOSS OF CONTROL. IN ORDER TO TRY TO CONTROL I HAVE TO HAVE BOTH HANDS ON THE STEERING WHEEL AND KNOW IT GOING TO HAPPEN. WHAT WOULD A YOUNG INEXPERIENCED DRIVER DO...MOST LIKELY OVER CORRECT AND CRASH.

THIS IS UNACCEPTABLE. I'VE HAD MY TRUCK IN SERVICE AT THE DEALERSHIP FOR THE RECALL FIX AND THE SAME PROBLEM STILL EXISTS I HAVE HAD IT BACK TO THE DEALERSHIP THREE TIMES NOW AND IT STILL IS NOT CORRECTED. DOES SOMEONE HAVE TO GET SERIOUSLY INJURED OR KILLED BEFORE SOMEONE FORCED FORD TO DO SOMETHING ABOUT THIS UNBELIEVABLE PROBLEM THAT IS GETTING SWEPT UNDER THE RUG?
ALL FOUR DOORS ARE SUBJECT TO FREEZING. IT IS IN FOR THE SECOND TIME. A RECALL HAS ALREADY BEEN COMPLETED. THE PROBLEM IS THE DOOR WILL OPEN AND WILL NOT LATCH BACK CLOSED. THIS RESULTS IN HAVING TO DRIVE THE VEHICLE WITH THE DOOR UNLATCHED AND SWINGING OPEN FREELY. THIS IS A WIDESPREAD ISSUE THAT NEEDS SOME ATTENTION. WHEN FREEZING TEMPERATURES DRIVERS DOOR DOESN'T LATCH PROPERLY
THE ELECTRIC REAR DEFROSTER ON MY 2018 F150 XLT CREWCAB PURCHASED IN 10/2018 STOPPED WORKING FOR SOME REASON. I TOOK THE VEHICLE TO THE DEALER FOR REPAIR AND WAS TOLD THAT THE WIRES HAD BECOME DISCONNECTED FROM THE REAR WINDOW GLASS FOR AN UNKNOWN REASON. THE DEALER "REPAIRED" THE DEFROSTER USING EPOXY TO GLUE THE WIRES ONTO THE GLASS AGAIN. THE VEHICLE HAD 13,542 MILES ON IT. I PICKED UP THE VEHICLE FROM THE DEALER ON 1/15/2020 AT ABOUT 7PM. THE NEXT MORNING I DROVE THE VEHICLE TO WORK AT 6AM FOR A 24HR SHIFT. I WORKED UNTIL 6AM ON 1/17/2020 AND WHILE I WAS DRIVING HOME ON A STATE ROAD WITH THE DEFROSTER ON THE ENTIRE REAR WINDOW EXPLODED SUDDENLY WITH SUCH FORCE I THOUGHT SOMEONE HAD SHOT THE VEHICLE. WHILE LOOKING FOR A PLACE TO PULL OVER TO FIND OUT WHAT HAPPENED I SMELLED SOMETHING BURNING. I LOOKED IN THE REAR VIEW MIRROR AND SAW FLAMES COMING UP FROM BEHIND THE REAR SEAT BACK ON THE PASSENGER SIDE AT THE BOTTOM OF THE WINDOW. I PULLED OVER AND CALLED 911. THE VEHICLE BURNED WHILE WAITING FOR THE FD TO RESPOND. THE VEHICLE WAS A TOTAL LOSS.
