VEHICLE MOVING WHILE MOTOR NOT RUNNING, INDICATOR SHOWS PARK.ALMOST ACTS AS IF IT WERE IN NEUTRAL. TRUCK HAS 9100 MILES. IN LATE OCTOBER, I LEANED AGAINST TRUCK WHILE IT WAS IN GARAGE AND ROLLED BACKWARDS ABOUT 5-6'. I HAVE OPENED A CLAIM WITH FORD, HAVE NOT HEARD ANYTHING BACK FROM THEIR CLAIMS DEPARTMENT. CLAIM # CAS-24658090-K6M8T6. I HAVE TRIED CONTACTING THEM WITH MULTIPLE ATTEMPTS. ONLY 1 OF THOSE ATTEMPTS GOT ME TO THAT CLAIM NUMBER. EVERY TIME I CALL NOW, THEY STATE THAT MY CASE HAS NOT BEEN ASSIGNED TO AN AGENT YET, EVEN AFTER 2 WEEKS.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2018 FORD F-150. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE POWER STEERING FAILED WITHOUT WARNING INTERMITTENTLY. WHILE TURNING THE VEHICLE AT A TRAFFIC LIGHT, THE POWER STEERING FAILED IN MID TURN AND THE VEHICLE DROVE INTO THE OPPOSITE SIDE OF TRAFFIC. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE AND PROVIDED PHONE NUMBERS TO DEALERS TO HAVE THE VEHICLE SERVICED. A DEALER WAS NOT CONTACTED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 24,300.
ON TWO SEPARATE OCCASIONS WHILE THE VEHICLE WAS IN MOTION WITH TRANSMISSION IN DRIVE WITH AUTO START STOP MODE DISABLED VIA THE DASHBOARD BUTTON, THE ENGINE STALLED AND SHUT OFF, A MESSAGE APPEARED ON DASHBOARD "AUTO START STOP SHIFT TO P, THEN RESTART ENGINE". THIS OCCURRED SEPTEMBER 14, 2019 AND OCTOBER 17, 2019. TAKEN TO DEALERSHIP SEPTEMBER 16, 2019. DEALERSHIP STATES THIS IS AN UNKNOWN ISSUE DESPITE MANY SIMILAR INCIDENTS REPORTED ONLINE, EXAMPLES WERE SHOWN TO THE DEALERSHIP. DEALERSHIP RETURNED VEHICLE STATING NOTHING WRONG, NO FAILURE CODES WERE STORED IN VEHICLE COMPUTER, NO RELATED SERVICE BULLETINS, UNABLE TO VERIFY COMPLAINT. THIS IS CLEARLY A SERIOUS SAFETY HAZARD. TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2018 FORD F-150. WITHOUT WARNING, THE CONTACT NOTICED THAT THE TAILGATE UNEXPECTEDLY OPENED. ONCE THE TAILGATE WAS CLOSED, IT WOULD INTERMITTENTLY OPEN AGAIN. AL PACKER'S WHITE MARSH FORD (9801 PULASKI HWY, MIDDLE RIVER, MD 21220, (866) 981-3574) WAS CONTACTED AND STATED THAT THE VIN WAS NOT INCLUDED IN A RECALL. THE FAILURE RECURRED MULTIPLE TIMES. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 25,788.
THE FRONT DASHBOARD WARPED UP IN FRONT AND ON THE PASSENGER SIDE OVER THE AIRBAG. IT WAS REPORTED TO THE DEALERSHIP , FORD REDD MCCOMBS. FORD COMPANY APPROVED TO REPLACE THE DASH. IT WAS REPLACED AFTER 5 MONTHS WAITING. AND NO UNCERTAINTY OF SAFETY OF DASHBOARD OVER THE PASSENGER AIRBAG ,POSSIBLY DEPLYING OR EXPLODING. THE SECOND DASH REPLACEMENT HAS WARPED IN THE SAME AREAS AND MORE. THE AREAS OVER THE PASSENGER AIR BAG, AS WELL AS THE DRIVER SIDE ON FRONT DASHBOARD. THE COMPANY AS WELL AS THE DEALERSHIP HAVE NO EXPLANATION AS TO WHY THE DASHBOARDS ARE WARPING . I HAVE SEEN AND PHOTOGRAPHED MANY OTHER TRUCKS WITH SAME MAKE AND MODEL AND THE SUFFER THE SAME PROBLEM. IF A PERSON IS NOT LOOKING FOR THE PROBLEM ,THEY WILL NEVER SEE IT UNTIL IT GETS WORSE AND THE WARRENTY HAS EXPIRED AND THEY ARE PROBABLY THINKING ITS THE TEXAS HEAT AND SUN. BUT THIS IS A TRUE VEHICLE HAZARD AND WILL CONTINUE TO BE ADDRESSED FURTHER IF YOU ALL DON'T WISH TO HELP OR GUIDE ME INTO THE RIGHT DIRECTION. IYS A FLAW IN THE DESIGN AND ITS IN ALL F150 TRUCKS FROM 2017 TO 2020. I HAVE SEEN THE FLAW IN THE 2020 MODEL AT THE CAR SHOW THAT WAS HELD IN SAN ANTONIO TX, BACK IN NOVEMBER ,2019.
TRANSMISSION WAS REBUILT BY DEALERSHIP DUE TO TRANSMISSION ISSUES AND UPDATED WITH NEWEST RELEASE FORD SOFTWARE UPDATE. AFTER 2000 MILES VEHICLE MAKES A HARD SHIRT/CLUNKING NOISE WHEN DOWN SHIFTING FROM 5TH TO 4TH GEAR AND WHEN DRIVING SLOW HAS ISSUE SHIFTING FROM 1ST TO 2ND GEAR. LOTS OF TRANSMISSION NOISE WITH THIS VEHICLE. THIS HAS BEEN HAPPENING A LOT AND IS NOT SPECIFIC TO ANY PARTICULAR TIME SUCH IF VEHICLE IS COLD OR WARM.
2018 FORD F150 VIN [XXX] THIS HAS THE ECO-BOOST V6 3.5L ENGINE IN IT. LAST OCTOBER 2019 THE ENGINE STARTED RATTLING AT STARTUP. I BROUGHT THIS TO DEALERSHIP (FX CAPRARA FORD PULASKI, NY) AND IT WAS DETERMINED THAT THE CAM PHASERS & TENSIONERS WERE BAD AND REQUIRED REPLACING. THIS WOULD BE DONE UNDER WARRANTY. THEY ORDERED THE PARTS AND INFORMED ME THAT THE PARTS WERE ON BACK ORDER. IT TOOK 2 1/2 MONTHS FOR PARTS TO ARRIVE AT THE DEALERSHIP. I BROUGHT THE TRUCK IN ON FEB 11TH FOR REPAIR AND WAS TOLD WOULD TAKE 3 DAYS TO COMPLETE. ON FEB 17TH ACCORDING TO DEALERSHIP 4 OF THE PARTS WERE MIS-LABELED AND HAD TO BE ORDERED AGAIN. AS OF TODAY FEB 25 I STILL DO NOT HAVE MY TRUCK BACK. WAS TOLD PARTS ARE UNAVAILABLE FOR AT LEAST NEXT 3 WEEKS AS FORD IS HAVING A PROBLEM SOURCING THE PARTS. MY TRUCK IS CURRENTLY AT DEALERSHIP WITH ENGINE DIS-ASSEMBLED. AFTER A SEARCH OF INTERNET FOUND F150 FORUM WHICH HAS STORIES OF SEVERAL HUNDRED PEOPLE HAVING SAME ENGINE RATTLE REQUIRING CAM PHASERS & TENSIONERS TO BE REPLACED AND PARTS EITHER NOT AVAILABLE OR TAKES MONTHS TO GET. FORD REFUSES TO ADMIT THERE IS A PROBLEM WITH THIS ENGINE. I HAVE CALLED THE FORD COMPANY AS LONG AS TRUCK HAS LESS THAN 60K MILES IT IS COVERED UNDER WARRANTY BUT NOT AFTER. THEY ARE REFUSING TO EXTEND THE WARRANTY ON THE REPAIR. I BELIEVE THAT FORD NEEDS TO RECALL THIS MODEL ENGINE AND REPLACE IT TO RESOLVE THIS PROBLEM. WAS DRIVING BACK TO MY OFFICE AND ON THE ON RAMP FROM A HIGHWAY TO INTERSTATE 95 SOUTH. I EASED LEFT TO MERGE ONTO THE INTERSTATE GOING ABOUT 45MPH AND INCREASING SPEED WHEN MY STEERING WHEEL PULLED LEFT QUICKLY ON ITS OWN POWER AND STEERED US HEAD ON TOWARDS THE METAL GUARD RAIL IN THE CENTER MEDIAN. I TRIED TO PULL RIGHT BUT THERE WAS RESISTANCE. I NOTICED AN 'UPHIL DECENT FAULT' ON MY DASH JUST BEFORE MY TRUCK STRUCK THE GUARD RAIL. LUCKILY I WAS ABLE TO LAST SECOND PULL THE VEHICLE RIGHT ENOUGH WHERE IT WASN'T A FULL HEAD ON COLLISION AND MY EMPLOYEE IN THE PASSENGER SIDE WAS JUST SORE AFTER THE FACT. I AM CURRENTLY UNDERGOING MEDICAL TESTS FOR BACK, NECK AND SHOULDER NUMBNESS AS WELL AS TENSION HEADACHES . NO AIRBAGS DEPLOYED! FORD SAID ONCE THE BODY IS FIXED WHERE THEY CAN RUN TESTS THEY WILL SEE WHAT CAN BE DONE, BUT I DO NOT FEEL SAFE DRIVING THIS VEHICLE. IT LITERALLY TRIED TO KILL US. THERE WAS ALSO A 'SERVICE ADVANCETRACK' LIGHT ON THE DASH. I PREVIOUSLY HAD THOSE FAULTS AND THE DEALERSHIP SAID IT WAS A WHEEL BEARING THAT THEY NEEDED TO REPLACE. SOMETHING IS GOING ON WITH THESE VEHICLES.
I HAVE A SERVICE ADVANCE TRAC WARNING LIGHT THAT COMES ON RANDOMLY AND THEN DISAPPEARS. I HAVE HAD IT TO THE DEALERSHIP 2 TIMES FOR A TOTAL OF 5 WEEKS AND THEY COULDN'T FIND OUT WHAT WAS WRONG WITH IT. IT NEVER POPPED UP AN ERROR CODE FOR THE MESSAGE. FINALLY THE LIGHT STAYED ON SO I TOOK OUT TO THEM AND THEY WERE ABLE TO PULL A CODE. ONCE THEY GOT THE CODE FORD STARTED THAT THERE WAS NO FIX FOR THE ISSUE AND I AM OUT OF LUCK. I HAVE FILED A COMPLAINT WITH FORD WHO SAID UNLESS IT HAPPENS MORE FREQUENTLY WE CANT DO ANYTHING FOR YOU. THIS TYPICALLY HAPPENS WHILE THE VEHICLE IS IN MOTION. WHEN IT HAPPENS IT DISABLES THE TRACTION CONTROL AS WELL AS TOE MODE, ECO MODE, SNOW MODE, SPORT MODE. HAPPENS AT ALL SPEEDS AND NOTHING SEEMS TO TRIGGER THE ISSUE. *TR
ON INITIAL TAKE OFF, WHEN THE TRUCK SHIFTS THROUGH 1ST AND 6TH GEARS IT SEEMS LIKE THE ENGINE SLOWS TO THE POINT THAT I HAVE NO POWER AND THEN SHIFTS. IT ALSO FEELS LIKE THE TRANSMISSION SLIPS. HAVE BEEN TOLD THIS IS NORMAL, BUT IT IS CERTAINLY A SAFETY CONCERN FOR MERGING INTO TRAFFIC BECAUSE I CAN'T GET UP TO SPEED FAST ENOUGH TO AVOID AN ACCIDENT. FORD NEEDS TO ADDRESS THIS ISSUE BECAUSE IT HAPPENS ON MOST OF THEIR ECOBOOST ENGINES AND THE 10 SPEED TRANSMISSION COMBINED. THIS TRUCK HAS THE 2.7L ECOBOOST ENGINE.
I HAVE REACHED OUT TO THE DEALER SEVERAL TIMES TO BOOK AN APPOINTMENT FOR LAST TWO RECALLS. THE DEALER IS NOT ABLE TO PROVIDE A TIME SLOT THAT I CAN DROP MY TRUCK FOR RECALL REPAIRS. THE DEALER DOES NOT HAVE A BACK UP RENTAL CAR THAT I CAN LOAD DURING MY DROP OFF TIME AS I NEED TO COMMUTE TO WORK ABOUT 40 MILES AWAY EVERYDAY.
2018 F-150 3.5 ECOBOOST MAKES A LOUD CLATTERING SOUND AFTER A COLD START. THE VEHICLE IS STILL STATIONARY AND THE SOUND LASTS BETWEEN 1-3 SECONDS. THIS WILL NOT OCCUR ON A WARM STARTUP, ONLY COLD. IT APPEARS TO BE VALVE TRAIN CLATTER COMING FROM THE TOP OF THE ENGINE. THIS SAME PROBLEM WAS DIAGNOSED ON THE PREVIOUS GENERATION 3.5 ECOBOOST ENGINE AND APPARENTLY THIS PROBLEM STILL EXISTS. I HAVE VIDEO OF THE START UP SOUND IF NEEDED, BUT ITS WIDELY DOCUMENTED ON THE INTERNET.
I HAVE TAKEN THE VEHICLE 2 TIMES TO FIX THE ISSUE OF LOST OF POWER WHILE DRIVING. THE PROBLEM HAS BEEN ADDRESSED TWICE BUT HAS NOT BEEN FIXED. I WAS TOLD THAT SINCE THERE IN CODE REGISTERED ON THE COMPUTER, NOTHING CAN BE DONE. TODAY, WHILE I WAS IN !-10 IN EL PASO TX, MY VEHICLE LOST POWER AND WAS NOT ABLE TO ACCELERATE AND CAUSING VEHICLES TO GO AROUND ME AND ALMOST CAUSING AN ACCIDENT FOR THIS REASON. WHEN WILL FORD FIND THE PROBLEM, WHEN THE ISSUE CAUSES AN ACCIDENT?
THE NEW 10 SPEED TRANSMISSION GEAR HUNTS. WHILE THE VEHICLE IS IN MOTION (CITY STREET OR HIGHWAY) DECELERATING WITH THE BREAK AND RE-ACCELERATING CAUSES THE TRANSMISSION TO GEAR HUNT WHICH CAN SOMETIMES CAUSE ACCELERATION LAG, AND RARELY CAUSES THE ENTIRE VEHICLE TO JOLT (SIMULATING A FENDER BENDER FEEL). THIS HAS ONLY HAPPENED SO FAR WHILE GOING ABOUT 30-40 MPH WHILE DRIVING STRAIGHT. I HAVE NOT GONE TO FORD WITH THIS ISSUE YET AS THERE ARE OTHER CONCERNING ISSUES WITH THIS VEHICLE. ALSO, THE OTHER CUSTOMERS THAT HAVE REPORTED TO FORD WERE TOLD THIS IS NORMAL. THIS CONCERNS ME AS THE OTHER ISSUES I HAVE HAD RESULTED IN THE SAME ANSWER. TO ADD TO THIS ISSUE I'M NOT SURE THIS QUALIFIES AS THE SAME ISSUE BUT ALSO WHILE SWITCHING BETWEEN REVERSE/DRIVE/PARK THERE CAN AT TIMES BE A LARGE JOLT. THIS HAS HAPPENED ON BOTH FLAT SURFACES AND ON SLIGHT HILLS. AS A NOTE THE BREAK WILL BE FULLY APPLIED AND THE VEHICLE WILL BE AT A DEAD STOP BEFORE I MAKE ANY CHANGES IN THE TRANSMISSION FUNCTION. STARTED TO PULL THROUGH A RESIDENTIAL INTERSECTION AFTER STOPPING AT A STOP SIGN. THE TRUCK COMPLETELY SHUT OFF AFTER MOVING ABOUT 5 FEET PULLING INTO THE INTERSECTION. A MESSAGE POPPED UP ON THE DASH SCREEN ABOUT AUTO STARTSTOP AND THAT I NEEDED TO PUT THE TRUCK IN PARK AND RESTART IT. THIS IS NOT SOMETHING THAT CAN BE DONE WHILE THE VEHICLE IS IN MOTION. I SLOWLY ROLLED TO THE SIDE OF THE STREET, PUT IT IN PARK AND RESTARTED. THERE WERE NO MORE ISSUES ON THE REMAINING 25 MILE DRIVE. THE AUTOSTOP FEATURE HAD BEEN DISABLED VIA THE DASH SWITCH BEFORE EVER LEAVING HOME. THE SWITCH WAS STILL ILLUMINATED AMBER SHOWING THAT AUTOSTOP HAD IN FACT BEEN TURNED OFF MANUALLY BEFORE IT HAPPENED ON ITS OWN, WHILE UNDER POWER. WITH THE ENGINE NOT RUNNING, THE POWER STEERING IS ALSO DISABLED. AFTER A BIT OF INVESTIGATION, I HAVE FOUND VIA ONLINE TRUCK DEDICATED FORUMS THAT I AM NOT ALONE AND THIS HAS HAPPENED TO NUMEROUS PEOPLE WITH F150'S SINCE 2015. THE PICTURE THAT I AM ATTACHING IS NOT MY OWN, BUT IS THE SAME MESSAGE THAT WAS GENERATED TO ME THIS MORNING. THIS PICTURE IS FROM ANOTHER INDIVIDUAL THAT THIS HAS ALSO HAPPENED TO AND REPORTED IN THE ABOVE MENTIONED FORUMS. AUTOSTOP INITIATION OF ITS OWN ACCORD WHILE UNDERWAY COULD HAVE DIRE CONSEQUENCES IF PULLING INTO ONCOMING TRAFFIC, THROUGH A BUSY INTERSECTION OR SIMPLY DRIVING DOWN THE ROAD.
Transmission shifts up and down harshly from 1st to 3rd gear and from 3rd or 2nd gear to 1st. This also happens between 6th and 7th gear, when driving in eco, normal, or wet/snow. Lower gear shifting up or down results in frequent clunk sounds, and sudden change in speed. Experienced loss of rear wheel traction when gears shift at low speed around turns in wet conditions. I tried approaching corners at different speeds, and noticed the transmission likes to shift part way through a left turn, regardless of speed. Vehicle also shifts from 1st to 3rd while rolling at idle RPMs, and careers unexpectedly. This is frightening when driving slow around pedestrians in crowded areas, especially elementary school parking lots. On a couple occasions I have almost hit a vehicle backing out of a parking space when my vehicle shifts from 1st to 3rd while my foot is on the brakes. If I didn’t have my foot depressing the brake pedal I definitely would have hit a vehicle backing out of a parking space one one occasion. Started day 1 of purchase, and I was advised by the dealer that the vehicle needs to go through a learning mode which takes about 5k miles. Vehicle continued to shift to shift roughly after 5k, so I complained to the dealer. Dealer said my vehicle was not part of the group recognized as having a rough shift issue, but said they could reset the learning process and it might resolve the issue, but the dealer also said what I was experiencing is pretty normal with the 10 speed transmission. Dealer made note of harsh shift after test drive and after completing service said it will take a few hundred miles of driving for the system to retrain itself, and I may notice significant harsh shifts during that time compared to performance prior to service. No problem indicators activated before or after service, and no other resolutions were offered by the dealer, and Ford customer service recommended trying a new dealer if I was not happy. TRANSMISSION ISSUE: INTERMITTENT LOUD BANG UPON STARTING THE ENGINE. INTERMITTENT RATTLE DURING NORMAL ACCELERATION AND DECELERATION. THERE IS ALSO HARSH UP AND DOWNSHIFTS IN THE VEHICLE. DURING NORMAL DRIVING CONDITIONS, THE VEHICLE WILL BE UP SHIFTING AND THEN IT WILL LOSE POWER UNTIL IT FINDS THE CORRECT GEAR, WHEN IT WILL THEN SLAM INTO GEAR. AGAIN THESE ARE ALL INTERMITTENT AND HARD TO MAKE HAPPEN ON DEMAND. ON OCCASION THE VEHICLE WILL BE SITTING AT A STOP LIGHT AND THE TRANSMISSION WILL BANG INTO ANOTHER GEAR, ALL WHILE BEING COMPLETELY STATIONARY. THE VEHICLE HAS A 13,200 MILES ON IT, AND IS CURRENTLY UNDERGOING AN OIL CONSUMPTION SURVEY THROUGH THE DEALERSHIP DUE TO THE MOTOR BURNING OIL. ALL OF THESE ARE ONGOING ISSUES THAT HAPPEN ON RANDOM DAYS AND TIMES, WHILE BOTH COLD AND WARM.
FORD AUTOMATIC ENGINE OFF AT IDLE FEATURE CAUSES POWER STEERING FAILURE WHEN ACTIVE. WHEN ENGINE REACTIVATED UPON HITTING GAS THE POWER STEERING IS DELAYED. THIS IS A PROBLEM WHEN WAITING AT STOPLIGHTS FOR A TURN., ESPECIALLY A LEFT TURN INTO ONCOMING TRAFFIC. REQUESTS TO FORD TO ALLOW DEACTIVATION OF THE FEATURE AS OPPOSED TO HAVING TO MANUALLY DISABLE IT EVERY TIME I ENTER THE VEHICLE HAS BEEN IGNORED. THIS FEATURE CAN BE DANGEROUS AND THERE IS NO REASON FORD CAN'T REPROGRAM THE BYPASS. INSTEAD THEY CHOOSE TO IGNORE WHILE ALLOWING THIS DANGEROUS FEATURE TO REMAIN ACTIVE BY DEFAULT.
2018 FORD F-150 IN MOTION APPROXIMATELY 45-50 MPH. STRUCK BY ONCOMING VEHICLE. AIRBAGS DID NOT DEPLOY AND SEATBELT FAILED TO WORK PROPERLY. THE CONSUMER PROVIDED PHOTOS.
The contact owns a 2018 Ford F-150. The contact stated that the sunroof slides became inoperable. There was an abnormal rattling sound coming from the vehicle. No warning light was illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the local dealer annually, where it was diagnosed and determined that the slides were fractured. The vehicle was repaired, but the failure reoccurred. The manufacturer was contacted and opened a case. The failure mileage was approximately 12,000.
HARD DROP IN GEAR ON START UP. INTERMITTENT LONG DELAYS FROM DRIVE TO REVERSE OR REVERSE TO DRIVE. HARD GEAR GRAB IN 3RD AND 6TH REGARDLESS OF SPEED OR LOAD. HIGHWAY SPEEDS WHEN SLOWING THE TRANSMISSION HITS HARD WHEN GOING DOWN INTO 6TH. ON CITY STREETS BOTH UP AND DOWN SHIFT ASSOCIATED WITH 3RD GEAR ARE HARD. THE CLUNK IS ENOUGH TO SHAKE THE TRUCK.
FIRST COMPLAINT ON AUGUST 21/19. TO HAGERSTOWN FORD DEALERSHIP THAT THIS TRUCK DOES NOT OPERATE CORRECTLY! THE HARDSHIFT CLUCK, USING OIL 1QT LOW AT 2400 MILES, WARPING DASH, RATTLING SOUNDS BAD.(LIKE VALUES RATTLING) MY DOOR LATCHES FREEZE.. I HAVE NOW AS OF 12/23/19 HAVE ADDED A TOTAL OF 5QTS OF OIL TO THIS TRUCK WITH ONLY JUST OVER 5000 MILES ON IT.YOU CAN SMELL BURNED OIL COMING FROM UNDER THE HOOD AND EXHAUST.I HAVE SEVERAL VIDEO DOCUMENTATION TO MY STATEMENT! WHEN I CLOSED THE DRIVER SIDE DOOR ON MY TRUCK THE ENTIRE REAR WINDOW SHATTERED. THE OUTSIDE TEMPERATURE AT THE TIME WAS APPROXIMATELY 95 DEGREES F. THE VEHICLE WAS STATIONARY AT THE TIME.
I HAVE HAD ISSUES WITH THE BRAKING ON MY 2018 F150 V8 SINCE OWNING IT. THE BRAKES NEVER FELT RIGHT AND IT WOULD TAKE A LONGER THAN NORMAL DISTANCE TO BRAKE AS WELL AS NEEDING EXTRA BRAKE PEDAL FORCE TO STOP THE VEHICLE. I ENDED UPGRADING THE ROTORS AND PADS WHICH HELPED SOME. UPON INSPECTION OF THE BRAKES BEFORE UPGRADING, THE REAR PADS WERE COMPLETELY WORN AND THE FRONT PADS APPEARED IN NEWER CONDITION. SO THE TRUCK WAS MAINLY USING THE REAR BRAKES TO STOP WHICH EXPLAINS THE BRAKING ISSUES. BEFORE UPGRADING THE PADS AND ROTORS, ON MULTIPLE OCCASIONS I HEARD AND FELT 'POPPING' WHEN BREAKING. CURRENTLY I HAVE EXCESSIVE PEDAL TRAVEL WHEN BRAKING WHICH LEADS TO A DIAGNOSIS OF A DEFECTIVE MASTER CYLINDER. WHICH UPON RESEARCHING, THERE IS SUPPOSEDLY AN UPCOMING RECALL AS WELL AS LAWSUITS IN THE WORKS AS FORD KNEW ABOUT THE DEFECTIVE HITACHI MASTER BRAKE CYLINDERS.

TOOK TO FORD AND THEY INSPECTED IT AND SAID EVERYTHING WAS FINE AND THAT THE PIN WAS WORKING. A FRIEND HAD SAME THING HAPPEN. I BELIEVE THERE IS A PROBLEM WITH THE TRUCK AND HAD THEY INSPECTED IT ON THE SPOT, THEY MAY HAVE DISCOVERED A PROBLEM. ON SEPTEMBER 15, 2018 I PURCHASED A NEW 2018 FORD F150 5.0 V8. ON 02/16/2019 (4,546 MILES) AFTER THE FIRST OIL CHANGE IT BEGAN MAKING A KNOCKING LIKE NOISE. ON 10/23/2019 (12,600 MILES) I TOOK MY TRUCK TO TEAM FORD IN LAS VEGAS. THE SERVICE DEPARTMENT STATED THAT FORD TOLD THEM THE ISSUE WAS NORMAL OPERATING CHARACTERISTICS. BRAND NEW TRUCK WITH 750 MILES WAS STATIONARY AT A LIGHT WITH CARS STATIONARY ALL AROUND WHEN OUT OF NOWHERE A HUGE BOOM/EXPLOSION HAPPENED. I LOOK IN THE REARVIEW MIRROR AND SEE THAT THE ENTIRE REAR WINDOW(SAVE THE MIDDLE SLIDER WINDOW THAT'S ONE A SEPARATE TRACK) HAS SHATTERED, BUT MOSTLY INTACT, INTO A MILLION PIECES. UPON CLOSE INSPECTION I NOTICED 99% OF THE GLASS IN THE BED AND OF TRUCK AND A FEW VERY SMALL PARTICLES ON THE REAR HEADRESTS. THE TWO NOTICEABLE HOLES IN THE REAR WINDOW ARE ON OPPOSITE SIDES FROM EACH OTHER AND ARE PROTRUDING OUT AS THOUGH SOMETHING TRANSPIRED IN THE CAB AND BLEW THE GLASS OUTWARDS. NO FOREIGN OBJECTS FOUND IN THE VEHICLE OR IN THE BED, NO OTHER DAMAGE TO THE TRUCK OR REMAINING WINDOWS. NO MACHINERY OPERATING IN THE AREA OR LANDSCAPE WORK NEARBY. I PURCHASED THE KING RANCH DIESEL HALF TON NEW FROM BAYTOWN FORD THREE WEEKS AGO, JUNE 28TH, 2019. THE TRUCK HAD 90 MILES ON IT AT DELIVERY AND I HAD IT REPLACED WITH FORD OEM PARTS THE NEXT DAY AT A COST OF $750. BAYTOWN FORD HAS FILED A CLAIM ON MY BEHALF WITH FORD; THEY AREN'T OPTIMISTIC.

THE FIRST TIME THE ACCELERATION ON MY F150 STUCK, I WAS ON A COUNTRY ROAD. I WAS BRAKING ON A DOWN HILL TO A STOP SIGN. I MADE SURE I WAS NOT DOUBLE PEDDLING AND THEN SLAMED DOWN ON THE BRAKE PEDDLE. I HAD PLENTY OF SPACE BEFORE THE STOP SIGN AND SLAMMING THE BRAKE REGAINED THE CONTROL. I DID NOT REPORT THIS TO MY FORD DEALER. I DID NOT KNOW THAT IT WOULD BE AN ISSUE. APPROXIMATELY 4 MONTHS LATER THE TRUCK DID IT AGAIN. THIS TIME I WAS BACKING UP AND HAD MY FOOT ON THE BRAKE PEDDLE AGAIN. I DID NOT HAVE ENOUGH TIME OR SPACE TO REGAIN CONTROL AND I STRUCK A TREE, WHICH STOPPED THE VEHICLE. IT CAUSED MAJOR DAMAGE TO THE TAILGATE, BUMPER, LIGHT ASSEMBLY, AND PASSENGER SIDE BED FENDER. I PARKED THE TRUCK AND WALKED AWAY FOR SEVERAL HOURS. WHEN MY HUSBAND WENT TO MOVE THE TRUCK, THE BRAKE PEDDLE SANK STRAIGHT TO THE FLOOR, LIKE THERE WAS A LOT OF BRAKE PEDDLE MOVEMENT AND NO BRAKE PRESSURE. I DO NOT BELIEVE THE GAS PEDDLE WAS STICKING, MORE LIKE THE COMPUTER WAS ACCELERATING WHEN THE GAS WAS NOT ENGAGED. MY FORD DEALERSHIP RAN DIAGNOSTICS THAT DAY AND IT HAD NO CODE ISSUES. FORD LEGAL RETAINED THE TRUCK AND RAN DIAGNOSTICS AGAIN 3 MONTHS LATER AND AGAIN NO CODES. STILL DO NOT HAVE AN ANSWER TO WHAT CAUSED THE ACCELERATION ISSUE. FORD SAID THERE WAS NO ISSUE WITH THE BRAKING SYSTEM. I WOULD VERY MUCH LIKE TO KNOW IF THERE HAS BEEN SIMILAR OCCURRENCES WITH OTHER 2018 F150'S.
