I started the truck including the rear and front window defroster. After about 5 minutes, I heard a loud "pop." I looked around the vehicle and noticed that back window was broken.
The contact owns a 2018 Ford F-150. The contact stated that while driving approximately 18 MPH in a storm, the driver’s side windshield wiper blade arm disconnected from the vehicle, creating a visibility hazard for the driver. Upon inspection, the contact discovered that the round gear of the wiper arm had sheared off. The local dealer and manufacturer were notified of the failure, but no assistance was provided. The contact was informed that the same failure had been recalled for certain Canadian model vehicles but did not include the U.S. Market vehicles. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was 88,000.
I have a 2018 Ford F150 with a windshield wiper linkage that is seizing up. It is available for inspection upon request. I was driving down the highway after the snow last night and with all the salt and snow coming off the highway, I couldn't see and the wipers just stopped mid swing. This appears to be the same issue that Canada users are experiancing too (24S77). The dealer said they were out of the part due to many instances of this issue. It was inspected and the motor appears to still work but the linkage is seizing up and stopping. There were no warnings. It just stopped working.
The windshield wipers began running very slow and at times completely stop at mid wipe position. The occurs no matter what speed they are set at.
Rear view camera is blurry. Can no longer clearly see obstacles while backing up. Camera problem was reproduced and repaired by the dealer.
The contact owns a 2018 Ford F-150. The contact stated that while driving 70 MPH in inclement weather, the windshield wipers were operating slower than normal before becoming inoperable. The vehicle was taken to a dealer, where it was diagnosed and determined that the wiper motor was intermittently inoperative. The wiper linkage was removed, and the dealer became aware that the passenger’s side wiper had seized, and the motor and wiper arm linkage needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 68,692.
Linkage seized and no longer moves. This is a recall in Canada but not the US, but my truck was also affected.
The contact owns a 2018 Ford F-150. The contact stated while driving at an undisclosed speed with the moon roof closed, the contact heard an abnormally loud sound coming from the vehicle. The contact stated that the moon roof independently opened halfway and independently closed repeatedly. The dealer was made aware of the failure and provided a reset; however, the reset failed to fix the failure. The contact stated that the moon roof closed but was not properly sealed. The vehicle was taken to the dealer where it was diagnosed with a fractured moon roof frame. The contact was informed that the moon roof frame needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and a case was filed. The contact was advised to contact the NHTSA Hotline to report the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 90,500.
Rear Window/Glass spontaneously shattered. Loud Noise as it shattered entirely. No apparent cause while driving in parking lot with no bystanders.
Backup camera was hard to see with, when backing up I could not detect obstacles. I replaced the backup camera with a new part at my cost of about $100 which I have a receipt for.
The contact owns a 2018 Ford F-150. The contact stated that while driving at approximately 20 MPH, the moon roof button was depressed, but the moon roof had jammed. The contact stated that the driver's side of the moon roof was slightly opened. The vehicle was taken to a body shop where it was determined that the moon roof unit needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 59,400.
The contact owns a 2018 Ford F-150. The contact stated that while driving in a rainstorm, water from the sunroof leaked into the cabin of the vehicle. The vehicle was taken to the local dealer who diagnosed that the sunroof needed to be replaced to prevent further water leaks. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure, but no assistance was provided. The failure mileage was 79,000.
The windshield wipers will sometimes go off when they are not on.
The 2018 Ford F150 is notorious for the connection for the rear defroster on the rear window to fall off. There is no real good way to repair this. This leaves it impossible to clear the rear window from snow and ice. This causes extreme visibility issues when attempting to back up and see what is behind you.
The Air Conditioning fails and windows fog impairing visibility. Ford dealer diagnosed the problem as the A/C evaporator sensor failure and estimated the cost at $2800 to remove the entire dashboard and all components. No warning lights or other indicators appear. The A/C evaporator apparently freezes over and block air flow through the vents. This is a problem many of these vehicles are having. I have included the ford service bulletin. It is available for inspection. Thank You
Back-up camera is not clear , I can't clearly make out objects when backing, even after cleaning the lens. This has been like this as long as I have had the truck.
The contact owns a 2018 Ford F-150. The contact stated that the vehicle was started remotely with the key fob and while approaching the trunk of the vehicle 15 minutes later, the contact became aware that the rear windshield had shattered. The contact drove to the residence. The vehicle was taken to an auto glass repair shop where it was inspected, and the replacement part was ordered. The vehicle was not repaired. The dealer was notified of the failure and informed the contact they could not assist because the VIN was not included in a safety recall. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 51,959.
My windshield wipers will come on in the slow position even though they are "Off". I cannot get them to stop. My wipers will continue to do this for a month or so, and then return to normal where I can control them. This has happened 3 times now. While this is happening, I have problems controlling the speed of the wipers. This only happens when the truck is running.
Windshield Wipers stopped working
Rear Slider Windshield Randomly Shattered glass everywhere while vehicle parked no signs of impact no force entry just glass everywhere. vehicle parked in secure area. the only plossible clause I can think of is Remote start I assume it was the remote start. I verified AC status and no defrost was on.
