Due to a poor electrical connection, the rearview camera intermittently displays a distorted image. As such, the vehicle fails to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard number 111 "Rear Visibility".
The contact owns a 2019 Ford F-150. The contact stated that on several occasions while driving at various speeds, the vehicle stalled. The vehicle was restarted after two attempts after each failure. The check engine warning light was illuminated. The vehicle was taken to a dealer where it was diagnosed that the vehicle needed to be updated. The vehicle was repaired but the failure recurred approximately six months later. The vehicle was then taken to the same dealer where it was diagnosed that the engine needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 50,000.
I am getting engine codes that say my cam shaft sensors are bad. I replaced cam shaft sensors but the engine continually loses power, shifts hard, lurches and unexpectedly downshifts. Yesterday, complete loss of power on the highway and I was forced to put transmission into Manual and shift manually to get to a safe location. Placing truck in Reverse from Park causes a loud clunk and jerk backwards. I do not know at any given time if I will be able to safely pull out into traffic.
The contact owns a 2019 Ford F-150. The contact stated while starting the vehicle, he heard an abnormal rattling sound. The vehicle was taken to the dealer. The vehicle was diagnosed with a cold started rattling. The contact stated that the dealer informed him that the vehicle was repaired under warranty as much as the manufacturer would allow. The contact stated that the failure reoccurred. The vehicle was taken to the dealer again. The vehicle was diagnosed with VCT rattle on start-up. The contact was informed that the VCT units needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and aided with the repair cost. The failure mileage was approximately 45,000.
Intermittent & hard shifting whith increasing & decreasing speeds. Downshifts hard. Jumps multiple gears when slowing to stops. Dealership reset software saying that's all that can be done. Not excepting anymore transmission work. Same issues. Continuing issue since purchase 4/20 w/ 13k miles. Currently have 31k miles and experiencing the same issue.
The vehicle has a 10 speed transmission which is designed to skip gears in a smooth fashion while accelerating. The transmission has been "chirping" when shifting from 1st to 3rd and very hard shifting from 3rd to 4th or 5th gear and also from 6th to 7th gear. Now the transmission is often not engaging and slipping out of gear when shifting out of 3rd and into 4th/5th and simply disengaging and going into a neutral state. This causes the vehicle to lose power and it will not accelerate. This is a very dangerous situation especially when attempting to merge onto the highway, turning left or any time traffic is behind me and the transmission disengages. This has occured on three separate occasions from 9/12/22 to 9/16/22. I have attempted to have the vehicle inspected by a Ford dealer and the earliest appointment is Jan 3rd 2023!! Another Ford dealer stated I could drop off the vehicle and the diagnostics check would take 3-5 days and they do not provide a loaner vehicle. There were no warning lamps or messages prior to or during the transmission slipping out of gear.
I purchased a 2019 Ford F150 2.7l Ecoboost with 10speed transmission in May 2022 and it only had 19,000 miles on it. When I first bought it, it seemed to drive fine, but less than 3000 miles later the gears started shifting really hard, especially 3rd through 5th gear. I took it to my local dealer and they reset the PCM module and said to drive it because it has an adaptive transmission that it would have to relearn driving habits. Well, shortly after I was on the interstate doing 75mph on cruise control in 10th gear, the truck shifted all the way down to 1st gear, went to limp mode, then revved rpms and went back to 8th gear then wrench came on the dash light. This truly could've been a bad situation and possible accident if I wasn't able to get over to safety lane. I took it to the dealer the next week and they reset the computer again and cleaned valve body. The vehicle still has hard shifts between 3rd and 5th gears, although not quiet as harsh. Ford needs to issue a recall on the 2019 Ford F150s with the 10r80 transmissions or figure it out soon. I'm afraid there is going to be a serious accident, if one hasn't happened already, if these transmissions are not fixed soon. Several states already have class action lawsuits about this particular transmission.
Hard transmission shifting. Clunking noise when going from park to drive or reverse. Slow to downshift when driving up hills and causes the engine to shudder sometimes.
rear View Camera malfunction. Sometimes it is a blank screen, sometimes it has wavy lines while other times it works fine. Can't see to back up. Almost hit another vehicle. No warnings or lights.
There is a defect in design of this vehicle. When using the Air Conditioning the passenger side floor gets extremely wet from the evaporator core drain. This is due to the drain being to short, and gets the sound protective sponge rubber soaking wet. What happens is this sponge gets wet and pours into the passenger floor area of the vehicle. It was only noticed after I took ownership from my father. The floor carpet backing and carpet have a mold issue now which is a health issue. What needs to happen is the drain needs an extension to get past where it dumps out now. This will solve the issue.
I purchased a 2019 Ford F-150 from AutoNation Ford in Panama City, Florida in 2020, along with a bumper-to-bumper warranty through The Ford Motor Company, covering the car until 140,000 miles. Over the last 20 months my truck has been back to AutoNation at least 5 times for various mechanical issues. To their credit, each time the Service Department was eventually able to resolve each issue. During this week's 4.5 hour visit to the Service Center I was informed that my engine is faulty (Google "F150 oil consumption problem") and needs to be replaced; it survived less than 80,000 miles. Replacing an engine is a hassle, but I have a warranty and Ford is a trustworthy American company that makes America proud. Unfortunately, I was told that Ford is not allowing any existing customers to get on a list for replacing my particular engine (5.0L V8). Ok, but I have a warranty through Ford . That has to be worth something, because it cost me +$3,000, and Ford sticks by its products and their commitments/promises can be believed and they told me it covers a rental car if there is ever anything that takes more than a day to fix on my truck. Surprise, the warranty apparently only provides a rental car for a maximum of 5 days, and I could be waiting for 12 months or longer. No offer of loaner, a way to expedite the repair, someone to call, any kind of help…just, “sorry, we’ll let you know if Ford starts letting people back on the list, until then, you’re on your own.” The options provided by Ford: 1) Drive with your check engine light on (engine sometimes stalling) and top off the synthetic oil every week or so until the engine inevitably fails 2) Rent a car and pay out of pocket for all but 5 days for a potential +12-month delay for Ford to fix my truck 3) Shine a light on their dishonest business practices in hopes that either a regulatory authority or enough public shame will force Ford to stand by their word and their product. This is disappointing, frustrating, unsafe,
The contact owns a 2019 Ford F-150. The contact stated that the backup camera failed to display the view in the rear of the vehicle intermittently. The contact took the vehicle to the dealer who confirmed the vehicle was not included in NHTSA Campaign Number: 22V252000 (Back Over Prevention) and the vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was unknown.
While driving I noticed my wife's seat belt was not fastened, and there was no alarm chime or icon on dash alerting of incident. I then undid the drivers side and had the same results. I had been having issues with the ac leaking on inside at passenger floor. I took the truck to five star ford dealership for repairs. The ac evaporator and carpet was replaced. They said they issue with the seatbelts was not repairable unless a code was thrown. I was told it wouldn't cause any issues with air bags, but I'm not comfortable with that. The dealership said they would contact Ford and see if there was anything that could be done. After AC issues that has been ongoing several times now I believe moisture got somewhere it shouldn't have. I kept telling them what if a child was in seat and undid seatbelt and then an accident occurred. They said the airbags should still work. I dont trust that. This could be a very serious issue. I was told I could buy a new truck. I can't afford to buy a new truck every couple of years on retirement. The dealership said they believe the issue is in one of four modules but Ford will not authorize them to just start replacing modules without error codes being thrown.
The car showed message “ auto startstop shift to p, then restart engine “ and lost power on highway, I shift to p and restart engine, the message showed again and couldn’t drive. It was very dangerous.
The truck rolls down my driveway while in park if the parking brake isn't applied. Has been repeated has not been inspected. Almost hit one of my children and went into the road. It is available for inspection. No warnings.
The contact owns a 2019 Ford F-150. The contact stated that after parking and turning the vehicle off upon returning and restarting the vehicle it was discovered that the driver side running board was stuck in the down position and the passenger side running board was stuck in the up position. Also, the air bag warning light remained illuminated, the front passenger and driver side windows would not operate and could not be opened and the air conditioning was inoperable. The cause of the failures was not determined. The local dealer and manufacturer were notified of the failures. The failure mileage was 44,000.
I purchased the vehicle, new, in May 2019. Currently have approximately 60,000 miles, the majority of which are highway miles. At about 50,000 miles, I noticed severe "jerking", "slippage", "stalling" of the transmission(10-speed automatic). The transmission slippage/jerking was especially noticeable when automatically shifting between gear ranges 3-6. The slippage was also noticeable between gear ranges 8-10. I also noticed that when not accelerating (and essentially coasting), the transmission disengaged entirely (in the 20-35 mph range, or gear 3-5) and when I tried to accelerate, there was a 2-3 second delay period before the transmission engaged. This really troubled me, as in some cases, I felt like I did not have control of the car (e.g. the ability to speed up immediately, to avoid a road hazard). I did ask the the last Ford dealer (when I had an oil change in mid-June 2023, at about 55,000 miles) if there were any default codes related to the transmission. They stated "no" even though I told them about the issue. They did not offer to investigate further. Since that time, I have driven another 4-5k miles, and have an oil change scheduled next week. I informed the dealer, this time, that I want a transmission expert to review the problem. I'll know more on August 31st.
I have a 2019 Ford F150 with a 5.0 liter motor with approx 42k miles. I maintain my vehicles and I check my oil in between oil changes. It is always low and I do not have any oils leaks. I discussed it with the service advisor at Bo Beukman Ford and the service advisor told me it is normal for oil consumption in between oil changes???? Maybe on a 10 year old truck, but not a 2-3 year old truck! I recently googled this issue and found TSB 19-2365 and I discussed it with my service advisor and they told me I could bring it in and they would check it, but TSB would be at my cost! Seriously? After my last oil change, I took pics of the dipstick a couple days after the service was completed that I can send you. What if people think the oil is low and add 2-3 quarts to bring it up, all because their engineers designed it with a short dipstick? That is ridiculous. This should be a recall.
Truck has harsh shifting transmission, loss of power at times, jumping from gear to gear, decelerating for no reason. Dealer diagnosed transmission problem as below: CDF cylinder sleeve slipped 1/4" causing C clutch teflon seal to blow out of direct support seal groove. Planetary containment cylinder gouged from F clutch friction teeth. Dealer states they will repair transmission. Truck has only 49K miles and is only 3 years old. This 10 speed transmission has recurrent problems with many customers and should be recalled and fixed.
When accelerating the transmission will grind in neutral. Let of gas and will finally shift in gear. Happened 2 years ago when I bought it new. Now 3 times in the last 2 months. Ford dealers where I live don't have transmission mechanics. Shifts all over the place and has metal rattling noise. Unsafe to drive with just lest then 30k miles.
My 2019 F-150 with a 10 speed transmission shifts hard between 3rd and 4th gear, 4th and 5th gear. The hard shifting between these gears is for both acceleration and deceleration. The hard shifting is kind of like a slam between gears. The problem seems to be getting worse. It used to only happen occasionally (5,000 miles) and now happens almost daily (23,000 miles). The truck has only 23,000 miles on it.
Driving back from, San Antonio, Tx., to Millsap, Tx., in my 2019 Ford F-150 truck, I experienced down shifting and up shifting hard. It was making driving very difficult and dangerous. My Ford App alerted me that there was a Powertrain Malfunction. The little wrench light came on the dash indicating Powertrain problems. I was very concerned for my safety. I have turned it into, Southwest Ford, in, Hudson Oaks, Texas. I was not told that this was an issue with this year model, nor have I received anything in the mail about it. The Ford Dealership above was where I bought the truck and all the oil changes, ect., have been done. I have researched this problem and have come across a class action lawsuit that describes what happened with my truck. Ford has not notified me to this problem. What else should I do to resolve this?
On a recent road trip, I had a break in traffic to get onto the road I need to get on to but I had to give it a little more gas to get up to speed to not cause the oncoming traffic to evade crashing into me or jamming on their brakes. When I did so, the vehicle paused then there was a big clunk then it shifted into gear and did its thing without incident. Unfortunately, I experienced it several more times when trying to merge onto the highway on short onramps. I searched online for the problem as this was something new to me and realized that it is very common with Ford F150 trucks that have the 10R80 transmissions.
The contact owns a 2019 Ford F-150. The contact stated while accelerating from a complete stop to 35 MPH, the vehicle hesitated and jolted while shifting into gear. Additionally, the contact stated that while at a complete stop and depressing the brake pedal, the vehicle revved. There was no warning light illuminated. The contact stated that the failure had been reoccurring. The vehicle was taken to the local dealer, where it was diagnosed that the fuel was contaminated and a gasoline additive was added; however, the failure persisted. The vehicle was taken back to the same dealer. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 80,000. The contact stated that when the transmission issues started, the local dealer informed the contact that they were short staffed and could not provide a loaner vehicle. After taking the vehicle to a second dealer, it was found that the transmission needed to be replaced.
At 30k miles the center of the steering wheel (plastic where Ford emblem is which houses the driver airbag) completely opened up horizontally along the perforation where the airbag deploys in the event of an accident exposing the airbag underneath. If you honk the horn your palm depresses into the cavity where the airbag is. Ford fixed this under bumper to bumper warranty which ends at 36k miles. Now at 50k miles the plastic has opened up completely once again, only this time horizontally along the right side perforations on the same plastic cover through which the airbag deploys in the event of an accident. As before, depressing the center of the steering whee to honk the horn causes your palm to go through the perforation and press against the airbag. The cover cannot be replaced on its own and comes as a single unit attached to the airbag known to Ford by part name “Driver Inflator Module”. Initial response from dealer was it is cosmetic and not covered however I contacted Ford who advised that the part is covered under the 60k mile Airbag Safety Restraint Warranty. Dealer disagrees even after I presented him with the NHTSA ID 10207126 communication where Ford acknowledges the issue and advised a more “robust” airbag assembly has been released.
The contact owns a 2019 Ford F-150. The contact stated that while driving approximately 70 MPH, the vehicle inadvertently downshifted to first gear. The contact stated that the transmission was slipping. The contact stated that the gear shifter was stuck. Additionally, the contact stated that the transmission skipped first gear and shifted straight to third gear, and then shifted to tenth gear. The service wrench symbol was displayed. The vehicle was taken to the local dealer where the mechanic was unable to duplicate the failure. The vehicle was taken back to the local dealer to be diagnosed and it was determined that the transmission needed to be replaced; the parts were on backorder. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was contacted but no additional assistance was provided. The failure mileage was approximately 50,000.
Vehicle was purchased 2020 I am the original owner Typewriter noise and power train hard shift noise Brakes let go Caused me an accident Engine or transmission issue Slip and drag feel since I bought it
Wiper arm fails to operate due to the index splines not holding up and failing prematurely. Part did not include a shear pin to prevent issue from arrising. Ford has a recall on the part but is not including all vehicles that have this part. (Info confirmed by service/parts managers and Ford customer support) Ford is also canceling any and all orders with that part number and refusing to supply that part.
The contact owns a 2019 Ford F-150. The contact stated that the rearview camera image was intermittently distorted while reversing. There was no warning light illuminated. The contact stated that the failure had been reoccurring increasingly and the rearview camera image had been distorted for three consecutive days. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, where it was diagnosed that the rearview camera image needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The contact related the failure to NHTSA Campaign Number: 22V252000 (Back Over Prevention); however, the VIN was not included. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 19,900.
I was pulling away for a stop sign and the transmission didn’t engage. The rpm’s rose but it wouldn’t move. My Ford Pass sent a message saying I had a power train failure. Shutting it down and restarting got it to move but still had a tendency to slip. I drove slowly 1 mile to a Ford dealer and then the truck wouldn’t engage at all. The truck had to be towed My son’s Explorer had a similar failure earlier this year.
10R80 transmission and ECM/TCM malfunction causing hard jerking shifts and stalling. Vehicle will not accelerate when engine is not at temperature which could lead to a major accident.
Tailgate frozen closed, will not open
The contact owns a 2019 Ford F-150. The contact stated that while the transmission was downshifting, there was a loud bang coming from the transmission, with a popping sound coming from the rear suspension. The contact stated that the sound was most apparent when the brake pedal was depressed. The contact stated that the message that the driver’s side rear door was open, causing the light to remain illuminated even though the door was securely closed. During the failure, the lights inside and outside the vehicle remained illuminated, causing the battery to become drained. The contact stated that the infotainment center failed and needed to be rebooted whenever the vehicle was turned off and restarted. The failure disabled the back over prevention camera intermittently. The contact stated that occasionally back over prevention camera became activated while driving and remained operational until the system failed. The contact stated that the back over prevention failure and infotainment system failure started after Ford had completed a routine software update. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, but the cause of the failure was not determined. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was informed of the failure and opened a case. The manufacturer referred the contact to the NHTSA Hotline to report the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 86,500.
I’ve had issues with my transmission since I purchased the vehicle new. Most of the time it just downshifts from like 4/5th gear to 1st/2nd gear and slams the truck. Very horrible shifting. I’ve also had it before though that I’m going through an intersection and the truck can’t find the gear and I have no acceleration for a few seconds. Luckily I haven’t gotten hit before. I brought it into the dealer and they reprogrammed the computer and said to try that. It seamed better for about a week and then was horrible again. The dealer did notice the jerky shifting. I’ve also had continued issues with the radio screen not working.
The contact owns a 2019 Ford F-150. The contact stated there was a loud clicking noise detected while driving. Additionally, the vehicle was slow to start. The contact stated that the PCM warning light was illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the local dealer where it was diagnosed and determined that the cam phasers needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and referred the contact to the NHTSA hotline for assistance. The failure mileage was approximately 91,000.
The contact owns a 2019 Ford F-150. The contact stated while driving 65-70 MPH in a rainstorm, the windshield wipers failed and remained positioned in the middle of the windshield. There was no warning light illuminated. The contact drove to the local Pep Boys and purchased a water repellant that she used on the windshield. The dealer was notified of the failure and informed the contact that the earliest available appointment was July 19. The contact stated upon taking the vehicle to the dealer for repair, the dealer informed the contact that the vehicle could no longer be repaired under warranty due to the mileage. The vehicle was not repaired. The contact referenced NHTSA Campaign Number: 22V250000 (Visibility). The manufacturer was notified of the failure and a case was filed. The failure mileage was approximately 135,000.
My electrical system failed and then caught fire. The entire situation started 4 days ago where my "dome" or "cargo" light kept turning on even though the car was off. 3 days ago my alarm would go off every 15 minutes until I unplugged the battery. I disconnected the battery over night hoping to reset the computer. After reconnecting the battery I got a rear "LEFT REAR door ajar" message on the dash. After inspecting the sensor and wiring harness in LEFT REAR door, I found no issue. However, now "FRONT LEFT door ajar" message appeared on dash along with "LEFT REAR door ajar." Also a litany of other warning lights involving cameras, emergancy braking, etc. came on. While attempting to drive to dealership to have them inspect the issue. The wiring harness behind the back seat on the RIGHT SIDE of the vehicle began smoking. Smoke began billowing from behind the seatbelt opening in the plastic trim on the backside of the door frame.
The transmission started shifting down and up uncontrollably while traveling down the highway at 75 MPH. It would bounce between 9 and 10 gear and then down to 5 and 6, all within seconds. Was not towing anything, and it’s not the first time it’s happened. A wrench icon appeared, saying “see manual”. Transmission temp showed 240 degrees. Within 5 minutes we’d pulled over and turned vehicle off. As we were slowing down exiting freeway, gear shifting was extremely pronounced.
I had a problem with rough shifting from new but it continued to get worse. The dealer reset the electronics hoping to improve but it didn't help. I left on a trip and after a few hundred miles I received a powertrain failure warning. Trying to complete my trip the transmission would fail to pull, jerk hard during shifts causing it to be unsafe to drive. It eventually stopped completely .
I was making a left turn onto a busy highway on March 29th, and my truck shut off. A message appeared on the screen that said Auto start/stop shift to P, then restart engine. A battery and wrench symbol appeared. I almost was t-boned as a result of the malfunction.\ I bought the vehicle at Causeway Ford in Manahawkin with 62,000 miles and have only had it for a month. I took vehicle there for repair on March 30th. The dealership claimed they performed a hard reset and was able to correct the issue. I had the vehicle for 12 days since, and the issue reoccured almost causing another accident. I am furious.
The contact owns a 2019 Ford F-150. The contact stated upon starting the vehicle, the engine emitted abnormal rattling sounds. There were no warning lights illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the dealer where it was diagnosed that the failure was associated with the camshaft. The contact stated that the failure had been reoccurring. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and referred the contact to the NHTSA Hotline. The failure mileage was approximately 60,000.
The contact owns a 2019 Ford F-150. The contact stated that while driving at approximately 65 MPH, the engine began shaking and the check engine and power train warning lights illuminated. The contact related the failure to NHTSA Campaign Number: 24V635000 (Engine and Engine Cooling); however, the VIN was not included. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 62,534.
The back up camera started not working intermittently. Then it failed completely and all you get when in reverse is a blue screen. There is a NHTSA recall for 2019 Ford F-150 for the exact same issue. Recall #22V25200. Ford has refused to fix the issue as a recall. This has been going on for two months.
The contact owns a 2019 Ford F-150. The contact stated that while his son was driving at an undisclosed speed, the vehicle inadvertently downshifted to first gear without warning. The contact stated that the failure had occurred on three occasions. The vehicle was taken to the local dealer but was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 66,000.
Transmission not shifting smoothly, it lurches into gear when accelerating or decelerating. There have been times where I’ve almost had power failure. My safety was put at risk when trying to merge out onto the highway across traffic and my truck would not shift out of first gear and felt like it was about to stall out before finally kicking into 3rd gear…and I could have been hit by oncoming vehicles. This has happened numerous times and now it occurs every time i am shifting out of first gear. I’m taking the vehicle in to be inspected at automation Ford on July 18th 2023. The vehicle has not been inspected by police, or insurance. There have been 0 warning lights or check engine lights to date. Start date was approximately 04-2022 and it’s gotten way worse and it is now 07-2023
It present at this moment engine light on and off all time, it had a power train damaged, I bought a new transmission 5 month ago, at this time it has deactivated adaptative Cruise control, automatic emergency brakes, forward collision warning, and it has a power train problem again.
The contact owns a 2019 Ford F-150. The contact stated that she noticed there was no oil in the vehicle. The check engine warning light was illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the local dealer where it was diagnosed that the failure was related to a Technical Service Bulletin for excessive oil consumption 19- 2365. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was contacted and referred the contact to the NHTSA Hotline. The failure mileage was unknown.
I was driving down the road and my sunroof "exploded" for lack of a better word. I originally thought that something hit the glass, but upon further review I noticed that the glass was flared upwards. I did some research and found this to be a known issue and this also happened to my wife's uncles' F150.
While driving approximately 25mph I was coming up to a traffic light where I was preparing to stop. As the vehicle decelerated to approximately 20mph the vehicle completely shut off losing power steering and function of the brakes. No warning lights were displayed. Only a message that said place vehicle in park and restart vehicle.
I was driving down the road and my rear window spontaneously broke.
