Since before my 60K warranty expired, I have experienced clunking when automatic transmission is espeically shifting down from about 4 to 3 of the 10 speeds. It has gotten worse, and it actually has good and bad days just like you and me. The other day it felt so severe that it seemed the entire truck would implode and then I would be sitting duck, or worse, hit something out of control or from quickly losing power steering. I know this issue is known, and there are now lawsuits. Date below is first onset. Dealerships have told me all sorts of crazy options to solve it over the years, from changing transmission fluid, to replacing transmission.
UNKOWN, I was turning a corner going rough 10 mph and the truck shut off completely and on the dash it showed auto start stop restart engine. I took the key out and restarted the truck and it was fine. It scares me obviously that if this happens in a busy intersection will I be able to stop and start it again without getting hit.
The contact owns a 2019 Ford F-150. The contact stated while driving at an undisclosed speed and attempting to accelerate, the vehicle shifted abnormally, jerking, and hesitating to shift into gear. Upon pulling to the shoulder of the roadway, the contact was able to continue driving after activating manual drive mode. The check engine warning light was illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, who diagnosed a general transmission failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure but referred the contact to the NHTSA Hotline for assistance. The failure mileage was 77,000.
The contact owns a 2019 Ford F-150. The contact stated while the vehicle was started, he heard an abnormal piston knock sound. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and confirmed that there were no related recalls for the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 68,000.
UNKOWN My truck will lose power when hitting the gas. The rpms' rev up and then after a second it kicks back in. The 10 speed transmission continues to be very jerky and unsmooth. I asked the dealer and was told that's the number 1 complaint but there's nothing they can do about. The loss of power while pushing the gas to go is the biggest safety concern for me.
2019 F-150 vehicle is equipped with a 5.0L engine that exhibit excessive oil consumption, to where every month i have to add oil. There are no visible oil leaks. Each time i go for oil change before the 3 months and/or recommended 3,000 miles, im told there is no oil in the engine. After doing research, i found that the issue of excessive oil consumption is caused by high intake manifold vacuum during some deceleration fuel shut off events resulting in oil being pulled into the combustion chamber from the crankcase, valve guides, and positive crankcase ventilation (PCV). To correct the condition, steps to reprogram the powertrain control module (PCM), installation of a new engine oil level indicator and change the engine oil and oil filter. The revised PCM calibration reduces engine vacuum during some DFSO events. After calling local ford service center, the issue was confirmed and I was told that there isn't a fix for the problem. I was provided by the Ford service agent the contact information for Fords customer service. Spoke to the agent who told me that there is only a recall for the tailgate for my model. Anything else I would be responsible for repairs. The Ford customer service agent then gave me the website to NHTSA to file a complaint. Now I'm doing just that. It appears that this is a common issue for my year make and model. Please investigate, please help.

This vehicle has a 2.7 eco boost engine that is junk. It has been at Summit Ford from March 8, 2022 and is still there as of 6-17-2022. The vehicle has had to be taken back 2 times within this time frame. The motor looses compression on cylinder 5 which we have dumped 781.43 out of pocket and extended warranty has paid 1028.00. The last time I picked it up from the dealership I got 20 miles and it loss compression. I turned back and took it to the dealership. I told them it did the same thing. Since returning it we now find out it loss compression in cylinder 5 and now needs a new motor. The vehicle has 78168 miles, all highway miles. Ford has agreed to pay $5,000 towards engine and remaining balance is owed by us. Ford has issues with this 2.7. A 2016 f150 has been in the shop several times, mine has also and the ford broncos coming out of production doesn’t even make it 1000 miles and looses compression. In order to get my vehicle to drive and get the wrench light to come off, we would have to pull over, turn vehicle off, turn it back on and continue driving until the next time it loss compression. This is a safety hazard as you loose compression it could cause the vehicles behind you to hit you or if you needed to pull off to the side of the road, loosing compression could cause you to get hit causing accidents trying to pull over.
The contact owns a 2019 Ford F-150. The contact stated that while driving at various speeds, the vehicle had experienced harsh driving and harsh shifting between first and fifth gears. Additionally, the vehicle experiences sudden deceleration while shifting gears. The check engine warning light and the wrench symbol were illuminated, and the transmission temperature gauge was elevated to high. The vehicle was taken to the local dealer who reprogrammed the TCM, but the failure persisted. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure, but no assistance was offered. The failure mileage was 50.
We were parked in a store parking lot after driving truck for 45 mins. Truck was turned off for 30 mins. Put the key in to start truck and nothing electrical worked. No dash lights, no chiming, no lights, nothing at all electrical worked. Turned key to start and nothing. It was like it was in a sleep mode. After about 5 mins of trying everything electrical and checking battery terminals I tried the radio power on button and everything came back on. It has been fine with no issues for 2 days now. I just hate to have it happen while driving. I called the Ford dealership near me and he they didn't know what it could be. Told me if it happens again to let them know right away. There were no warning lamps, messages or symptons before. I couldn't find anything lose around battery.
My truck rough idles and shakes violently and then stalls and an error comes up in the dash telling me “auto startstop shift to P then restart engine” Has happened numerous times. Truck currently has 44,xxx miles. This is extremely dangerous at any light, turning intersection, or stop sign. I have read many online threads through online forums of this happening in other f150s to no avail from owners and dealers alike.
The Ford 10R80 Transmission is extremely clunky, unsafe, and unreliable. Me, among tens of thousands of others have the exact same problems with them and Ford ignores and disregards them and the safety hazards they create. Your form does not allow for multiple instances or dates. This is/has been a consistent issue form the purchase of the vehicle, to the new transmission I now have to put into it under 100k miles.
The contact owns a 2019 Ford F-150. The contact stated that upon starting the vehicle, he heard an abnormal loud rattling sound coming from the engine. There were no warning lights illuminated. The contact was able to drive the vehicle. The vehicle was taken to the dealer where it was diagnosed that there was an oil leak in the engine compartment and also that the 4-wheel drive had failed. The dealer reprogrammed the PCM under an unknown recall; however, the failure reoccurred. The approximate failure mileage was 35,000.
warning light comes on intermittently . Took to ford dealer and was told aftermarket bug deflecter was causing the issue. My co worker has the same exact vehicle without deflector and has the same problem. My vehicle has only 22000 miles and this has being an ongoing issue from since 2019. They will not honor their warranty and was told to take it back to the ford dealer i bought it from. This is a safety issue because it startles you when it goes off and you are nowhere close to a vehicle.
Auto startstop activated when stopped at a stoplight. When removing foot from brake pedal to go at the green light, the engine stalled with a warning on the dash to put the vehicle in park and start the vehicle again. This did start the vehicle. This has happened twice in the past month and the last time another vehicle from the rear almost rear ended me since I was parked at a green light. Dealer had worked on it prior to this and I will try again.
As I was driving along an outer road I was continuously going a speed of 35mph. I accelerated up to 40mph when my truck slipped into a new gear, causing the truck to remain at the same RPMs but began declining in speed suddenly causing me to almost fall back into the traffic behind me. The road was slightly uphill and was beginning to fall slower than the rest of traffic as my truck would not accelerate. Once I reached the height of the hill the road began downward which my truck began to coast to a stop light. At the stop light I tried restarting my truck but same message followed by the wrench and check engine light came on. My truck was struggling to accelerate and had my maxed out at 10mph on a 55mph road. At the moment the truck slipped gears, a light on my dash came on stating "Drive Mode Unavailable" that prompted me to hit ok on my steering wheel to remove so I could read the digital speedometer. After hitting okay a wrench lit up on my dash as well as my check engine light. After restarting the truck several times after waiting hours to restart, the same prompts lit up.
While driving down a two lane street, a van ran in front of me causing me to T-bone that vehicle. The advance warning did not activate, the brakes did not automatically activate, and worst, the air bag did not deploy causing me some injuries.

The touch sensitive door control for the side passenger door intermittently operates. This creates a hazardous situation when trying to enter the vehicle when parked on the street and the vehicle remains locked. An owner has to retreat, find the key fob and unlock the door remotely. The touch system is erratic and does not give any warning when it malfunctions. Same issue with trying to lock the door but not as hazardous since one is moving away from the vehicle.
This 5.0L Coyote engine burns or consumes oil more than the manufacturer stated allowance. It consumes 3 quarts or more between oil changes (3500 mile intervals). Every 500 miles, I check the oil and add approximately 1/2 quart. This is a known issue by Ford and Ford owners. It should be a recall!

On 12/06/2021 at approximately 0205, my F150 was rear ended while stop at a light my vehicle was totaled and I noticed the seat back broke and was touching the rear seat and angled to the left. I tried to straighten the seat back up to remove my work bag that was pinned behind it and the seat was locked in place. I researched and found a consumer report article from Ford dated October 2019 that stated the 3rd prong is missing from the seat on the F150’s from 2018-2020 and can cause injuries in a vehicle crash.

Door locks not functioning
Transmission make erratic gear changes at highway speeds from 10th gear to 2nd gear just for a split second then back to 10th. no warning. Loss of gas pedal in passing lane to overtake a slower vehicle throttle does not respond you have to fall back try to get back in right lane until the computer decides to give you back control usually about 20 sec. Also pushes transmission fluid out of vent tube on transmission.
Motor made rattle then Loud motor noise, lost of oil pressure. Pull in lot and parked vehicle.

Transmission bucks and skips gears in the 800-2000rpm range. When acceleration applied in the rpm range given, it hesitates and then lurches forward . It also 'jumps' in a forward motion when starting in park on a level surface. I had the transmission software flashed by Ford last year which helped for 2-3 months only. It is getting worse. Ford now wants to charge to refresh the software again since the truck is out of warranty by 6 months.
Under acceleration, after the engine warms up, it begins to have a severe issue with spark knock clatter which causes a loss of power due to improper computer ignition timing adjustments.
Cam phasers - after the Ford dealership applied recall 21B10, the engine will shut off at undesirable times, causing a stall and making driving unsafe. This is in addition to serious knocking at engine start, and additional shudder during normal driving conditions and while idling. This recall repair has made things much worse and should be avoided.
Found significant MOLD (toxic mold) all over passenger side floorboard area, under the carpet and throughout the padding, after increasing moldy/mildew smell. This is a "direct result" of a bad design (i.e. AC drain tube), where condensation flows back into the vehicle without Consumer/Owner knowledge. Technical Service Bulletin 19-2345. RESULT: Consumers spend thousands of hours in a small contained cabin breathing-in toxic mold spores. I've been to the Doctor multiple times with headaches and flu-like symptoms, thinking it's COVID, and always testing negative. AND now it makes sense, symptoms occurred when driving and afterwards. FORD IS AWARE OF THIS. NHTSA is aware of this? WHY ARE CONSUMERS NOT PROACTIVELY TOLD ABOUT THIS ISSUE. THIS CAN KILL PEOPLE! AND MANY ARE LIKELY SICK OR GOING TO GET SICK! PLEASE INVESTIGATE BEFORE MORE PEOPLE ARE HURT FROM TOXIC MOLD POISONING.

Additionally, the contact stated that the vehicle was consuming an excessive amount of fuel. The contact later received an unknown recall from the manufacturer that was associated to the failure. The vehicle was taken to the dealer where it was diagnosed that the engine synchronizers needed to be replaced; however, the parts for repair were not available. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and confirmed that the parts were not available. The failure mileage was approximately 35,000.
Recent oil analysis(mid October 2021) indicates a greater than 5% fuel dilution. The Cummins ASTM method of testing only permits a greater than 5% statement so fuel dilution could be much higher. First sample a year ago indicated 3% dilution. Many factors could contribute to this per research and I had advised Ford dealer with printed reports and they would not do anything at all about this stating it is standard. Oil report indicates a "severe" issue. Ford dealer wouldn't even look into possible causes to rule out. I have concern for a possible engine compartment fire/explosion might happen or possible degradation of engine leading to other possible incidents. Reports and vehicle are available. No indicator lamps or other means to know of this issue without independent testing of oil samples. Fuel mileage is averaging 17MPG.
The contact owns a 2019 Ford F-150. The contact stated that while starting the vehicle, the engine made abnormal rattling sounds. The contact related the failure to Customer Satisfaction Program: 21N03 (Cam Phaser Replacement); however, the vehicle was not included. The failure mileage was approximately 42,000.
Back window is shattered with no force. You can see it pushing outwards. Still cracking as I'm writing this
The contact owns a 2019 Ford F-150. The contact stated that the navigation system had malfunctioned, requesting several prompts to be pressed to produce to the desired direction on the screen. The failure caused the radio, Bluetooth, and rearview camera to fail to operate as needed. The contact performed a master reset for all the parts to function properly; however, the failure recurred. The vehicle was taken to a dealer however, the technician was unable to duplicate the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 60,000.
Tailgate has fallen twice on its own. This issue has been a red all for models years prior to 2019.
While traveling down road at 50MPH, vehicle suddenly lost power and would not respond to inputs from accelerator narrowly avoiding being rear-ended by following traffic. Transmission shift irregularities have plagued my vehicle since the beginning as it hesitates to shift then shifts hard causing whiplash like effect. Other times it randomly downshifts and will not respond to throttle inputs, creating an unsafe driving condition. In addition it will surge/lurch ahead without throttle input causing the need to break to avoid collisions. The vehicle currently has 12,227 miles on the odometer, owned for 18 months, purchased new. Has been brought into service on three separate occasions for this issue just in the last 7 months. Transmission is now being replaced as Ford can not determine the cause of the transmission failure. Class action lawsuit of this 10R80 transmission is currently pending. The NHTSA should get involved before someone is injured or killed. My wife or child will not ride in the vehicle as this transmission renders the vehicle unsafe.
The contact owns a 2019 Ford F-150. The contact initially stated that upon checking the oil level, the oil level was a quart lower. The contact then stated that while driving up a hill at a moderate rate of speed, an abnormal knocking sound began to emit from the vehicle as the vehicle started to lose power. The vehicle was taken to the dealer where the mechanic reprogrammed the Powertrain Control Module (PCM) software and changed the oil. The contact was then instructed to bring the vehicle back every 1,000 miles to monitor the oil consumption. The manufacturer was also notified of the failure and referred the contact to the NHTSA Hotline for assistance. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was 23,504.
10 speed transmission has trouble shifting in most gears and has become a safety issue in traffic. I have taken the truck back to the dealer once already and they made the problem worse. I am attempting to get the truck back to the dealer again. I have found many complaints and articles about F150's with the 10 speed transmission having issues. In fact, I've read there are class action lawsuits against Ford for issues with their 10 speed transmission. To date, my dealership has not acknowledged there is an issue with the transmission.
ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON AFTER DRIVING VEHICLE WITH JERKING MOTION..i WAS TOLD AFTER DIAGNOSIS THAT OYGEN SENSOR NEEDED TO BE REPLACED...WHY IS THIS COMMON IN THIS VEHICLE
Vehicle stalls at idle when coming to a stop and turning into intersections
