After the vehicle has been parked overnight. I reverse out of my driveway, stop, shift to drive, drive about .75 miles to a stop sign. Turn left and go about 1 mile to another stop sign, as the truck is close to stopping for this second stop sign, the engine turns off and I lose power steering. The dash shows this message: "Auto StartStop Shift to P, then Restart Engine". I have to push on the brakes, shift the truck to park, and then crank the key to restart the truck. This happens whether the auto start/stop is enabled or disabled. It has happened several times at the exact same stop sign right before I come to a complete stop. It is happening more frequently.
When I put my vehicle into reverse, I get a warning that the backup camera is inoperable. Ford already has a recall on Some backup cameras but refuses to address mine because of the VIN not being on their list. Others at risk? Whenever I need to back out of a parking space. The onboard computer should have the records of the many times the camera was needed but not working. I am unable to afford the cost of a service call as I am a senior citizen.
The contact owns a 2019 Ford F-150. The contact stated while driving at undisclosed speeds, the vehicle intermittently downshifted to first gear without warning. The contact stated that the failure persisted for a moment before the vehicle resumed normal operation. The vehicle had been taken to a dealer however, the cause for the failure could not be duplicated or determined. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was unknown.
Transmission shifting hard. Slipping. Unusual hard shifts that almost stall the vehicle
Rcm has lost communication all fuses are in working order. Pre collision has stopped working my parking brake, hill start assist and seat belt warnings have stopped as well. Air bag light, traction control, abs light and check engine lights are on in dash board. My truck only has 49000 miles on it and a major component has gone out how could this be my fault.
The contact owns a 2019 Ford F-150. The contact stated while driving 60 MPH, the vehicle shook uncontrollably. The contact was hauling a trailer during the failure. While the vehicle was shaking, the trailer caused the vehicle to spin-out. No warning light was illuminated. The vehicle was diagnosed however, the contact was not provided the diagnostic results. The vehicle was repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and advise the contact to reach out to her insurance provider for assistance. The failure mileage was unknown. The VIN was unavailable.
Death Wobble Car’s front end started shaking uncontrollably. The brakes automatically slammed on and our travel trailer jackknifed on I-65. When the movement stopped we were facing the opposite direction of traffic. Luckily the trucks behind us were able to stop before hitting us. Our trailer is totaled. The car had $11,000 worth of damage.
10R180 dropping from 10th gear to 5th gear when cruise is set and accelerator is pressed Truck will set advanced traction control warning off and slam so hard into 5th gear you are destructed looking to see if you were in a accident.. I have videos that were provided to Ford Motor Company and have had in 2 Ford dealership s 3 times for repairs.Ford Motor Company has 2 engineer cases opened on truck the second case they told dealership it was my fault with the abrupt shifting slamming and traction control warning at 72 mph on interstate. Ford refuses to address the safety issue. It is a hazard to me and passengers in my vehicle as well as the motoring public. Ford motor company has been notified they can assume liability if I am in a accident and someone is injured due to their negligence or refusal to fix defect. Truck has had issues since around 3500 on the odometer it now has 16,567 miles currently. This as well as any other erratic shifting complaints with said 10R180 should be fully investigated and taken seriously because it will and I am sure has contributed to crashes!!!!
I have a 2019 Ford F150 XLT. The vehicle has the technology package which allows you to start /stop the vehicle with an app in your phone. I assume the motor has bluetooth attached to it. The problem is that when your driving the vehicle will just shut down. Once this happens you have to stop the vehicle, put it in park, and restart the engine. There is usually not a problem restarting the engine. However, this creates a immense safety issue when your on the interstate and your vehicle stops. Another issue is that it doesnt happen all the time. I would estimate 3-6 times a month. And there are no codes illuminated to identify the problem.
The transmission seems to slip or not engage at all on several occasions. Today it stalled and left me with no throttle in middle of traffic then quickly engaged in gear . There is constant and irratic shifting unless throttle is aggressively pushed seems this issue will eventually cause car accident for me or others experiencing same issues . I was almost rear ended as a result of issue .
My rear window with defroster shattered when I shut the door on my F150 today. It was without warning and the temperature was mild and the truck was parked under a carport overnight. Now I have no back glass. I'll report my issue to Ford ASAP.
While driving on a residential street the vehicle turned off and displayed “auto startstop shift to P then restart”. This happened several times until I pulled into my driveway.
Transmission almost locks up at highway speeds with high temperature at the gage and transmission leaking lots of fluid onto the exhaust (fire hazard). Has happened several times and dealer still has no idea how to fix. The below date is just the latest as I had just picked up the truck the day before. Below answer to was there a fire, nope not yet.
The contact owns a 2019 Ford F-150. The contact stated while staring at the vehicle, he noticed an abnormal noise coming from the engine. The contact stated no warning light was illuminated. The contact was able to continue driving to his destination. The contact received notification Manufacturer Communications: 21B10 in May of 2022. The contact took the vehicle to a local dealer and had the Powertrain Control Module (PCM) updated. The contact stated that several days later, he noticed an abnormal noise coming from the engine. The contact stated no warning light was illuminated. The contact took the vehicle back to the dealer and made an appointment to have the vehicle diagnosed. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer had been informed of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 45,000.
Rough shifting into 5th and 8th gear under load (acceleration) and rough "clanky' shift into 9th gear while de-celebrating or coasting. Audible clank or bang like sound during engine start up.
The truck started hesitating with acceleration at times, shifting hard in low gears and high gears often. Took it in and pcm update was done issue is still the the very next day I started driving it again. This all started around 20000 miles or so. Going to take it back again for same issue of hard shifting at low speeds and now the steering wheel shakes at speeds between 20-25 mph. Frustrating to pay over $60,000 for a new vehicle and have issues within 20,000 miles and I have been only a Ford owner for over 15 years.
The contact owns a 2019 Ford F-150. The contact stated he was unable to hang up phone calls while the phone was connected to the vehicle through the USB cable. The contact stated the issue was distracting as he would need to take his eyes off the road to disconnect the phone to the vehicle in order to hang up the call. The vehicle was taken to the dealer who diagnosed that the vehicle software had failed, however they could not repair the issue as the vehicle software was ran by the manufacturer. The dealer advised the contact to stop using the USB cable. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The approximate failure mileage was 92,000.
2019 Ford F-150 was turned on using Remote Start feature. I allowed the truck to run for about 10 minutes before getting into the driver seat. When I closed my Driver Side Door, the Rear Windshield shattered. I immediately exited the vehicle and took photos of the shattered glass. Broken glass fell into my back seat and even into the bed of the truck. Thankfully no one was sitting in the back passenger seats. My local Ford Dealership, where I am leasing said vehicle from, advised me to bring the truck in so they could have a look at it. I advised them that the back windshield was falling apart and glass was continuing to fall into the back seat and into the outside bed/trunk. A service advisor told me they can’t do anything unless I bring it in. I sent them the photos I took and clarified to them that the window will surely break apart more if I drive it. The dealership said that’s fine, just bring it in. I wrapped the back windshield, best as I could, with garbage bags. As to not allow for the falling glass to come into the vehicle and strike me or others while driving. When I arrived at my Local Ford Dealership, a Service Advisor told me that I was not the first case of this occurring. The Service Advisor told me she has seen quite a few Ford F-150’s come in with owners complaining about spontaneous shattering of the back windshield. I asked her what is the cause of such an unusual occurrence. The Service Advisor told me it had to do with the rear window defroster. My rear window defroster was turned on and active at the time and moment the back window shattered. The remote start feature for the truck, always turns the rear defroster on. A quick online search, will also prove that Ford has been neglecting this issue and has not been willing to help their customers fix their back windshields. This is absolutely unacceptable and an enormous safety hazard. Not only for passengers within the vehicle but motorist on roadways, who happen to be driving behind the truck.
Vehicle was sitting vacant in a parking lot. Something in the dash, possibly behind the touch screen, exploded and caught the vehicle on fire. The vehicle is totaled.
HARD SHIFTS INTO 2ND GEAR AND ALSO 4TH INTO 5TH GEAR. SOMETIMES WHEN FIRST STARTED AND PUT INTO REVERSE THERE IS A HARD CLUNK SOUND MADE FROM TRANSMISSION. OTHER TIMES IT COMPLETELY SKIPS 2ND AND 4TH GEAR BUT STAYS IN 1ST AND 3RD LONGER THAN IT PROBABLY SHOULD. ON AT LEAST 2 OCCASIONS IT HAS SORT OF STALLED OUT GOING FROM 3RD TO 5TH WHILE GOING THROUGH AN INTERSECTION. THIS TRANSMISSION REALLY HAS ISSUES AND SHOULD BE ADDRESSED. EVERYTIME I TAKE IT BACK TO FORD THEY SAY THEY WILL REPROGRAM IT BUT WARRANTY WON'T COVER IT. THIS HAPPENS DAILY BUT I'M JUST GOING TO PUT TODAY'S DATE BELOW.
The vehicle has a 10 speed transmission. the transmission does not shift correctly, stalls between gears which causes a safety issue for persons driving behind my vehicle, also in intersections and merging into highway traffic. there are no warnings, no dash lights. The transmission simply does not shift. Manufacturer has not been able to correct the issue. This is a low mileage truck, 13,000 miles, it's truly a dangerous situation
MY 2019 FORD F150 HAS A RECALL FOR THE PHASER NOCKING BUT LIVERMORE FORD DON'T WANT TO FIX IT UNTIL FURTHER NOTICE FROM FORD CORPORATE, I CAN NOT DRIVE MY TRUCK AND I CAN NOT SELL IT BECAUSE OF THE KNOCKING NOISE. I AM STUCK WITH 30K TRUCK, PLEASE SEE ATTACHMENT FROM FORD
VEHICLE, A 2019 F150 LIMITED WITH 10R80 10 SPEED TRANSMISSION HAS HAD TRANSMISSION RELATED ISSUES SINCE DELIVERY. THERE HAS BEEN A CHATTERING SOUND ON DECELERATION AND VARIOUS TRANSMISSION PERFORMANCE RELATED ISSUES WITH THE VEHICLE. VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO CROWN FORD, FAYETTEVILLE NC, IN SEPTEMBER OF 2020 WITHIN THE FIRST 5,000 MILES OF OWNERSHIP TO ADDRESS THE CHATTERING/HARD SHIFTING ISSUE. THE TRUCK SPENT 34 DAYS IN THE SHOP AND I WAS TOLD THE PROBLEM WAS WITH THE REAR AXLE HOUSING AND WHEEL BEARINGS WHICH WERE REPLACED. THE TRANSMISSION ISSUES CONTINUED TO OCCUR AFTER THE FIX. I TOOK THE VEHICLE BACK AND SPOKE WITH SERVICE MANAGER AND SENIOR MECHANIC TO LET THEM KNOW THERE WERE STILL ISSUES. THE MECHANIC RODE WITH ME AND ADVISED ME NOT TO LEAVE THE TRUCK AT THE SHOP AGAIN AND THAT "WHATEVER IT WAS, IT'S NOTHING MAJOR WRONG WITH YOUR TRUCK" AND TO CONTINUE DRIVING IT. ISSUES HAVE BECOME PROGRESSIVELY WORSE WITH A NOTICEABLE "CLUNK" WHEN STARTING THE TRUCK OR SHIFTING INTO GEAR. THE TRUCK HAS LOST POWER BETWEEN SHIFTS WHILE IN NOTION AND HAS EXHIBITED EXTREMELY HARSH SHIFTS NUMEROUS TIMES, SO MUCH SO THAT IT FELT LIKE I HIT SOMETHING IN THE ROAD. THE TRUCK NOW IS NOW ACTING LIKE IT DOESN'T WANT TO SHIFT AND AS IF IT HAS NO POWER, AS WELL AS THE APPEARANCE OF A MIL ON THE DASH. TRUCK HAS BEEN TAKEN BACK TO CROWN FORD AGAIN FOR DIAGNOSIS AND I AM AWAITING RESULTS. GIVEN THE NUMBER OF ISSUES RELATED TO THE F150 AND THIS PARTICULAR TRANSMISSION SOMETHING NEEDS TO BE DONE TO ADDRESS WHAT ARE SERIOUS SAFETY AND DRIVABILITY ISSUES. I HAVE NO CONFIDENCE IN THIS TRUCK OR THAT IT WILL PERFORM AS ADVERTISED BY FORD MOTOR COMPANY IN THE FUTURE. THIS TRUCK HAS BEEN NOTHING BUT PROBLEMS SINCE PURCHASED.
MY DAD WAS DRIVING MY F150 HEADING SOUTHBOUND ON HWY 49 IN RICHLAND, MS. AT THE WILSON RD INTERSECTION THE CAR IN FRONT OF MY DAD SLAMMED ON BRAKES FOR THE YELLOW LIGHT, MY DAD HIT HIS BRAKES, AND THE 18 WHEELER BEHIND MY DAD REAR ENDED HIM, SLAMMING HIM INTO THE CAR IN FRONT OF HIM AND PUSHED BOTH CARS THROUGH THE INTERSECTION ABOUT 50 FEET. THE IMPACT WAS STRONG ENOUGH TO BREAK THE SEAT. NONE OF THE AIRBAGS DEPLOYED.*DT*DT
2019 FORD F150, 5.0 ENGINE. WHILE STOPPED AT RED LIGHT ON A THOROUGHFARE MESSAGE ALERTED ASKING TO PLACE VEHICLE IN PARK AND RESTART THE ENGINE. STEPPED ON ACCELERATOR WITH NO RESULT, HAD TO FOLLOW DIRECTIONS ABOVE TO CONTINUE DRIVING. AUTO START/STOP LOGO APPEARED ON DASH DURING INCIDENT. DID NOT HAVE TIME TO TAKE A PHOTO OF MESSAGE AS THE LIGHT TURNED GREEN AND I HAD TO COMPLETE THE PROCESS QUICKLY.
ENGINE RATTLES DURING ACCELERATION. RATTLE NOISE WHEN YOU LEFT OFF GAS PEDAL WHEN ENGINE IS COLD AND WHILE DRIVING.
VEHICLE MANUFACTURED IN OCTOBER 2019, INTERIOR DASH IS WARPING ON THE PASSENGER SIDE. WHEN LIFTING THE PASSENGER WIPER BLADE, LOOKING THROUGH THE OUTSIDE OF THE WINDSHIELD AT THE DASH, THERE IS A GAP FORMING WHERE THE DASHBOARD IS WARPING.
THE VEHICLE APPEARS TO BE USING AN EXCESSIVE AMOUNT OF OIL AND AFTER OPERATING FOR PERIODS OF TIME, THE SMELL OF BURNT OIL IS APPARENT. VEHICLE HAS LESS THAN 14,000 MILES; THERE ARE NO VISIBLE LEAKS, NO VISIBLE DAMAGE OR DEFECT TO THE OIL PAN, AND NO VISIBLE DEFECT OR DAMAGE TO THE QUICK DRAIN ASSEMBLY. VEHICLE OIL WAS AT MAXIMUM THRESHOLD ONE MONTH AGO AND IS NOW AT LOWER EYELET OF THE DIP STICK INDICATOR. INTELLIGENT OIL LIFE INDICATOR STATES THAT OIL LIFE IS AT 65%.
The 10R80 transmission in my truck has harsh shifting, stalled shifting, and is a safety hazard. Ford will not acknowledge the issues and will not repair the truck.
TRUCK HAS 8100 MILES ON IT. THERE IS A CONSTANT VIBRATION ABOVE 60 MILES PER HOUR, REBALANCING OF THE TIRES DID NOTHING TO FIX IT. DEALER STATES IT IS NORMAL. ALSO, THE 10-SPEED TRANSMISSION SHIFTS VERY HARD UNDER CERTAIN CIRCUMSTANCES. CRUISING AT 74 ON THE HIGHWAY, I WOULD FLOOR IT AND THE TRANSMISSION WOULD GO FROM 10TH GEAR TO 6TH WITH A SLAM, THE TRACTION CONTROL LIGHTS WOULD FLASH AND THE TRUCK WOULD SLOW DOWN WHEN I NEEDED IT TO SPEED UP. ALL THIS ON A COMPLETELY DRY AND FLAT ROAD. VERY DANGEROUS. OTHER TIMES, I WAS GOING 50-60 MPH AND FLOORED IT TRYING TO PASS SOMEONE AND THE TRUCK DID NOTHING. DIDN'T SPEED UP, DIDN'T CHANGE GEARS, JUST NOTHING. AGAIN, VERY DANGEROUS.
WHILE DRIVING, THE VEHICLE SHUT OFF (THREE TIMES NOW). THIS OCCURRED ONCE WHILE TURNING ONTO ANOTHER ROAD AND THE VEHICLE STALLED IN A LANE OF TRAFFIC. WHEN THIS HAPPENS, THE VEHICLE MAKES YOU SHIFT TO PARK AND RESTART THE VEHICLE. IT DISPLAYS A MESSAGE ABOUT AUTO START/STOP (ATTACHED). EVERY TIME HAS BEEN AT RELATIVELY LOW SPEED.
VEHICLE SHUT DOWN WHILE MOVING AND DISPLAYED MESSAGE ' AUTO START STOP SHIFT TO P THEN RESTART ENGINE' AFTER COMING TO A STOP WITH NO POWER BRAKES OR STEERING, VEHICLE TOOK APPROXIMATELY FIVE SECONDS TO RESTART AND HAD A DIFFICULT TIME DOING SO
VEHICLE STALLING AT IDLE AFETR PULLING 3,800 LB TRAILER FOR 2 1/2 HOURS OR MORE. NO CODES, DEALER DID NOTHING.
STALLS WITH NO NOTICE
seat back with an improperly assembled recliner mechanism not adequately restrain The recliner mechanisms may be missing the third pawl required for seat back strength, resulting in a loose seat Transmission shifts extremely hard. It clunks most of the time when I turn the vehicle on. Often, when I shift from park to drive the trunk lurches forward even with my foot pressed down all the way on the break. It's in the ford dealer right now and all they can find is low transmission fluid. Although I've never had a warning light or anything on before. dropping from 10th gear to 5th gear when cruise is set and accelerator is pressed Truck will set advanced traction control warning off and slam so hard into 5th gear you are destructed looking to see if you were in a accident.. The contact owns a 2019 Ford F-150. The contact stated while driving from a complete stop, the accelerator pedal was depressed and the engine revved to 5,000 - 6,000 RPMs, but the vehicle failed to respond. The contact stated that the vehicle suddenly jerked while responding. The power train warning light was illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, where an electronic software update was performed. The contact stated that the failure had been recurring while driving. The contact stated that on one occasion, he activated the hazard lights due to a significant delay in the vehicle response while attempting to drive from a complete stop. The contact veered to the side of the road. The vehicle was driven to a transmission specialist, where it was diagnosed. The mechanic determined that the transmission and the transmission fluid needed to be replaced, and the TCM needed to be reprogrammed. The vehicle was not repaired. The dealer was notified of the failure and informed the contact that the next availability was in May 2024. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and referred the contact to the NHTSA Hotline for assistance. The failure mileage was approximately 15,000.
WHILE DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY TODAY, I NEEDED TO ACCEL QUICKLY TO AVOID BEING IN THE BLIND SPOT OF ANOTHER TRUCK AS I WAS MERGING ONTO A DIFFERENT HIGHWAY. AFTER GETTING PAST THE TRUCK, I LET OFF THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL, BUT THE VEHICLE CONTINUED TO SPEED UP. WHEN THIS HAPPENED, I ASSUMED THAT THE CRUISE CONTROL WAS SOMEHOW TRYING TO RESUME SO I TAPPED THE BRAKES TO CANCEL IT, BUT NOTHING HAPPENED. I THEN PUT ON BRAKES, BUT IT WAS SIMPLY FIGHTING THE ENGINE AS THE VEHICLE CONTINUED TO ACCELERATE. I THEN TRIED PRESSING BOTH THE CANCEL BUTTON AND THE OFF BUTTON ON MY CRUISE CONTROL, BUT THE VEHICLE CONTINUED TO ACCELERATE. BY THIS TIME I WAS EASILY UP TO ABOUT 85 MPH AND HAD NOW OTHER CHOICE THAN TO PUT THE TRUCK IN NEUTRAL. I LEFT IT IN NEUTRAL FOR ABOUT 3 OR 4 SECONDS AND THEN PUT IT BACK INTO DRIVE AND THE ACCELERATION PROBLEM WAS RESOLVED. THIS COULD HAVE BEEN A VERY BAD SITUATION FOR AN INEXPERIENCED DRIVER. I PLAN ON STOPPING AT THE DEALER WHERE I PURCHASED THE VEHICLE LAST YEAR AND REPORT IT TO THEM AS WELL.
THE TRANSMISSION WILL MAKE NOISE WHEN THE ENGINE IS RUNNING IN PARK. CONFIRMED SIMILAR ISSUE/S BY OTHER OWNERS THROUGH F-150 FORUM HERE: HTTPS://WWW.F150FORUM.COM/F118/2018-2020-10-SPEED-TRANSMISSION-ISSUES-466952/
The contact owns a 2019 Ford F-150. The contact stated while the vehicle was parked, the vehicle was started, and the contact heard an abnormal sound coming from the engine. There was no warning light illuminated. The vehicle was drivable; however, the vehicle was not taken to a dealer to be diagnosed. The dealer was contacted, and the contact declined to pay for a diagnostic test to be performed. The contact related the failure to an unknown Manufacturer recall related to cam phaser failures. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was 40,000.
MY 2019 F-150 HAS COMPLETELY SHUT OFF WHILE DRIVING 2 TIMES WITH AN ERROR SAYING "AUTO STARTSTOP SHIFT TO P, THEN RESTART ENGINE". THE FIRST TIME THIS HAPPENED I WAS DRIVING DOWN MY STREET STOPPED AT THE STOP SIGN TOOK A RIGHT AND IMMEDIATELY THE CAR TURNED OFF. THE SECOND TIME THIS OCCURRED I WAS DRIVING ABOUT 40MPH DOWN A MAIN ROAD AND AGAIN LOST ALL POWER, COULDN'T TURN MY WHEEL, BRAKES WERE HARD TO PUSH, THE VEHICLE HAD ABSOLUTELY NOT FUNCTION. I PULLED TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD BOTH TIMES PLACE THE VEHICLE IN PARK AND RESTARTED THE ENGINE. LUCKILY THIS DID NOT CAUSE AN ACCIDENT BUT I AM VERY FEARFUL THIS WILL HAPPEN AGAIN AND THE OUTCOME WILL BE MUCH WORSE! I TOOK THE VEHICLE IN AND BOTH TIMES TO THE FORD DEALERSHIP AND THEY WERE UNABLE TO MAKE THE VEHICLE REPLICATE ISSUE.
MY TRUCK WENT 3 FORD LOCATIONS AND NO ONE REALLY KNOWS WHY THE SAFETY BREAKS DO NOT WORK. THEY CLAIM THE CAR MISS THE CCM, THEY HAVE NO OTHER CODES OR GUIDELINES TO MAKE IT WORK. THE PRE-ASS COLLISION RARELY ACTIVATES AND THE BRAKES DOES NOT APPLY. THE AUTO START STOP ALSO IS NOT LONGER WORKING
EXTREME JERKING AND HESITATION. SOMETIMES 4WD IS UNUSABLE, ESPECIALLY WHEN TURNING STEERING WHEEL IN 4WD. ACTUALLY FEELS LIKE BRAKE IS APPLIED WHEN USING 4WD. CALLED DEALER I PURCHASED FROM AND WAS TOLD IT WAS "NORMAL". HARD TO BELIEVE THAT IS NORMAL. VEHICLE HAS 9300 MILES ON IT. ACTUALLY THE FIRST TIME I TRIED TO USE THE 4WD.
I HAVE A 2019 F-150 THAT HAS WHAT THEY CALL RAIL DUST OR BRAKE DUST (RUST FLAKES) SHOWING THROUGH ON MY INGOT SILVER PAINT. MY TAILGATE IS THE WORST. I HAVE RUST FLAKES APPEARING IN VARIOUS PLACES THROUGHOUT MY TRUCK BODY PANELS. EVEN THE REAR BED INNER BODY PANELS ARE SHOWING THE RUST FLAKE SPOTS. ALUMINUM BODY PANELS SHOULD NOT SHOW RUST MATERIAL. THIS RAIL DUST OR BRAKE DUST SHOULD NOT BE ADHERING TO THE CLEARCOAT PAINT ON MY TRUCK. I HAVE DONE SOME RESEARCH AND FORD HAS HAD PROBLEMS WITH THIS ALL THE WAY BACK TO 2004. FORD HAS PUT OUT SOME TSB'S ABOUT THE PROBLEM BUT WILL NOT ADMIT TO THEIR PROBLEM WITH RUST FLAKES APPEARING IN THEIR PAINT. THIS RUST FLAKES NEEDS RECALLED IMMEDIATELY THAT IS APPEARING IN THE PAINT JOBS. NUMEROUS PEOPLE ARE COMPLAINING THROUGH VARIOUS SEARCH FORUMS I HAVE SEEN. I AM NOT ACCEPTING THIS RAIL DUST BECAUSE WHEN YOU PAY UPWARDS OF $35,000.00 FOR A TRUCK AND CAN'T GET 2 YEARS OUT OF A FLAWED PAINT JOB FORD WON'T RECALL SOMEONE NEEDS TO FORCE FORD INTO ACTION. I HAVE CONTACTED MY DEALER ABOUT THIS BUT WILL PROBABLY BE TOLD NOTHING CAN BE DONE. THEY ALREADY TOLD ME AFTER MY 3 YEAR/3600 MILES NOTHING CAN BE DONE, THIS IS UNFAIR. MAKE FORD FIX THIS [XXX] PROBLEM WITH THE RUST FLAKES IN THEIR PAINT JOBS. NO OTHER MANUFACTURER HAS THIS PROBLEM. LAST TIME I BUY A FORD. FORD SHOULD BE HELD LIABLE FOR THEIR METAL PARTICLES THAT APPEARED ON THE ALUMINUM BODY PANELS BEFORE THEY WERE PAINTED. WE THE CONSUMER SHOULD NOT BE THE ONE PAYING THE PRICE FOR THEIR MISTAKES. THIS SO CALLED RAIL DUST THAT IS APPEARING ON THE F -150'S PAINT IS NOT FAKE. LOOK AT MY PHOTOS. HAVE SOME ONE COME TAKE PICTURES OF MY TRUCK FOR PROOF. WHAT WILL THE TRUCK LOOK LIKE IN 2 MORE YEARS A RUST BUCKET. I AM NOT PAYING TO HAVE THIS FIXED. FORD HAS A PROBLEM AND NEEDS TO RECALL THE BAD PAINT JOBS OR BUY BACK MY TRUCK. PLEASE HELP ME WITH THIS PROBLEM. MAKE FORD RECALL THIS. INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6). *TR
The contact owns a 2019 Ford F-150. The contact stated that the power train warning light had illuminated. Additionally, the contact stated while her husband was driving 65-70 MPH on a mountainous road while the contact was occupying the front passenger's side seat, the transmission was stuck in a gear. The contact stated that her husband informed her that upon depressing an unknown pedal, the pedal was stiff and failed to travel down. Additionally, the contact stated that the vehicle started swerving, and the vehicle nearly swerved off the road. The contact's husband was able to regain control of the vehicle. The contact's husband was able to pull to the side of the road. The power train warning light was illuminated. The vehicle was taken to AutoZone, where the contact was informed that the failure was related to the ten-speed transmission. The contact stated that upon restarting the vehicle, the power train warning light was no longer illuminated. The contact stated that the failure had recurred while driving. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, where it was diagnosed with a transmission CAD drum defect. The dealer informed the contact that it was a factory defect. The dealer determined that the transmission needed to be taken apart to replace the CAD drum, or the entire transmission needed to be replaced with a new transmission that did not have the factory defect. The dealer notified the manufacturer of the failure, but the manufacturer offered minimal assistance in covering the repair. The vehicle was not repaired. The contact related the failure to Ford TSB Number: 22-2428. The failure mileage was approximately 15,000.
TODAY WHILE DRIVING HOME FROM WORK, A WRENCH-SHAPED INDICATOR LIGHT ON THE DASHBOARD TURNED ON. FOLLOWING THIS, THE DISPLAY NOTIFIED ME THAT THE FRONT SENSOR AND COLLISION AVOIDANCE WERE NO LONGER AVAILABLE. AFTERWARDS, THE TRUCK BEGAN TO SHUDDER AND JERK AROUND WHILE IDLING AT THE STOPLIGHT. THE RATE AT WHICH THE TRUCK COULD ACCELERATE BEGAN TO DECREASE EVERY TIME I WOULD ACCELERATE FROM A COMPLETE STOP (A STOPLIGHT FOR EXAMPLE). SHIFTS ALSO SEEMED VERY ROUGH. WHENEVER THE TRANSMISSION SHIFTED, IT FELT LIKE SITTING IN A CHAIR ON A CONCRETE FLOOR WHILE SOMEBODY DROPPED DUMBBELLS ON THE GROUND.
TRANSMISSION UP SHIFTS HARD DOWNSHIFTS HARD, SKIPS GEARS WHEN SHIFTING AND SLAMS INTO GEAR. TRUCK DOES NOT ACCELERATE UP TO SPEED.
ADVANCED COLLISION WARNING WORKS. BUT, THE BRAKING HAS NEVER KICKED IN AT ALL EVER. I HAVE SEEN THIS ISSUE 4 OR 5 TIMES IN THE LAST YEAR.
The contact owned a 2019 Ford F-150. The contact stated while driving at various speeds, the transmission was skipping between the 4th, 7th, and 8th gears. There was no warning light illuminated. The contact stated that while driving and depressing the accelerator pedal, the vehicle was jerking and lurching forward significantly. There was no warning light illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the dealer several times; however, the failure could not be replicated. The contact stated while accelerating from a complete stop and making a turn, the vehicle failed to respond as needed and rolled to a stop in the middle of the highway, nearly causing a crash. The contact turned off and restarted the vehicle several times, and the contact was able to drive to the dealer at a significantly slower speed. The dealer diagnosed the vehicle and determined that the transmission needed to be replaced. The vehicle was then taken to another dealer, Fort Mill Ford (801 Gold Hill Rd, Fort Mill, SC 29708), where the transmission was replaced. The vehicle was repaired. Additionally, the vehicle experienced cam phaser failure and was sold due to the repair cost. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 40,000.
The contact owns a 2019 Ford F-150. The contact stated that the vehicle was experiencing excessive oil consumption. The contact stated that the vehicle was consuming 2-3 quarts of oil every 5,000 miles driven. The dealer was contacted and informed the contact that there would be a charge for an oil consumption test. The contact declined to pay a fee for the oil consumption test. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 10,000.
The dashboard continues to warp and separate. We are now on the third one. I’m dealing with this problem for three years now.
