Odometer Fraud. The contact purchased a 2011 Ford F-250. The contact stated that after purchasing the vehicle, it was discovered that there was a mileage discrepancy. The vehicle was a dealer sale. At the time of purchase, the vehicle mileage was 163,000; however, after obtaining the Carfax Report on the vehicle, it was discovered that the mileage was 204,000.
The tires were installed on 8.22.2025 and on the following Thursday, August 28, 2025, all of the tires had low pressure. I returned to the Orange City, FL Tire Kingdom per the managers' (Brittany) request and the mechanic filled all of the tires and said that they were not completely filled when they were installed. The following day, Friday, 8/29, I began my return trip to my home in North Carolina. Within a few hours, the driver’s side front tire exploded and my truck was on the rim of the tire, swerving into the adjacent lane on I-95. I was able to get the truck off of the highway, onto the nearest exit ramp without being hit. I have never been that close to being killed on the interstate. [XXX] came and put the spare on and while I was waiting along the highway I called Tire Kingdom and was advised by [XXX] at the Orange City store to take the truck to the nearest Mavis or Tire Kingdom. The nearest one was Mavis in Brunswick, Ga, about 30 minutes north of the incident. The Brunswick store was closing and I was advised to bring my truck in at 8:00 am. I stayed at a hotel nearby and had the truck there at 7:45 am. I was told that they did not have four replacement tires in stock and could probably have them by Tuesday as it was Labor Day Weekend. They stated that they could replace only the blown tire and “take a look” at the other three tires. There was absolutely no concern for my safety or welfare, and no appreciation of the amount of risk I would be undertaking to continue to drive on the other tires. I went to Firestone and replaced all of the tires and returned home safely. I contacted Tire Kingdom three more times and was advised to return the tires to the Asheville, NC Mavis Tire store for evaluation. The manager, [XXX] and a mechanic inspected all of the tires and immediately stated that all of them were defective. The belt had separated, the sidewall was weak, and the rim/beading was bent. INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)
Truck started leaking fuel and then the engine shut down the next day it was drove, while driving! I’ve received 2 quotes and need the whole fuel system replaced due to CP4 pump failing which will cost about $13,000! This is the same issue as the 24S78 Ford recall but my truck doesn’t fall in the correct year! I still owe 10k on this vehicle so it’s basically totaled now.
The contact owns a 2011 Ford F-250. The contact stated while driving at an undisclosed speed, the front of the vehicle was shaking abnormally. There was no warning light illuminated. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic where it was diagnosed that the steering column had failed and needed to be repaired. The vehicle was repaired; however, the failure recurred. The vehicle was taken to the dealer but was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 50,000.
I was recently hit in the drivers door causing the door, the cab, and the running board to be damaged. The side impact air bag did not deploy. the entire drivers door is damaged and the cab of the truck behind the door is damaged. the running board was completely under the cab of the truck.
The contact owns a 2011 Ford F-250. The contact stated that after parking and exiting the vehicle, an alarm sounded, and the front driver's side air bag deployed simultaneously without impact. The contact stated that the vehicle was driven to another destination. The contact stated that after parking and exiting the vehicle, an alarm sounded, and the driver's side curtain air bags deployed simultaneously without impact. The contact stated that the two failures occurred within 10 minutes. The dealer was notified of the failure and an appointment was scheduled for the repairs. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and a case was opened. The failure mileage was approximately 80,000.
This truck consistently gets the death wobble even after having several things repaired on It to fix the problem. This needs to be looked into. This has happened several times with this truck
The contact owns a 2011 Ford F-250. The contact stated that while driving 60 MPH, the vehicle vigorously shuddered. In addition, the contact allowed the vehicle to decelerate independently to come to a stop. No warning light was illuminated. The vehicle was taken to a local dealer where it was diagnosed; however, no cause for the failure was found. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and referred the contact to the NHTSA Hotline for assistance. The failure mileage was approximately 200,000.
When driving over 55mph and hitting a bump, pothole, etc....the death wobble starts taking excessive force to keep the truck on the road with the steering wheel nowhere aligned to where the tires are aimed. Dealership stated they wouldn't take the vehicle on trade due to the steering box needing to be addressed first. no warning lamps illuminate. Happens every time while driving from mileage 170K - 189K.
See attached document for complaint.
Keeps having a death wobble when I hit a bump going faster than 50 miles per hour that can't be controlled or stopped without pulling over to a stop or near stop.
Valve cover bolts keep bracken (32) and leaves oil running all over the motor and transmission
The brake lines located above the fuel tank rub and burst. This seems to be a very common issue related to a poor design. Ford will not discuss the issue when questioned about it.
YOU ARE DRIVING ALONG AT ANY SPEED ABOVE 45 OR ABOVE AND HIT A BUMP OF ANY KIND OR ROUGH PAVEMENT ON ROADWAY.IT WOBBLES AND SHAKE LIKE A DEATH WOBBLE OF WHAT IS REFERRED BY SOME MECHANICS .WE BELIEVE ITS POSSIBLE TO BE SOMETHING WRONG WITH STEERING BUT IT WILL SHAKE RATTLE LIKE A YOU BLEW OUT A TIRE
When driving it looses power. Had diagnostic scan it came up with code for injector 6 misfire and cylinder 8 conttribution. 6 cylinder is a little weak, monitor misfires and notice 6 cuts out.
Going over unsmooth roads ,or very little change in road height, vehicle shakes violently have to come to complete stop and risk getting ran over in middle of highway interstate or whatever couple close calls but no accident,YET
At 122,000 miles the vehicle no has begun to have the "death wobble." Extreme shaking at 40mph+. Ford has no recall for this issue. My local dealer/service center is charging full price to remedy the issue. However, the exact repair is unclear to them (e.g. steering dampener, shocks, u-joints, ???, etc). I suspect this will become a "throw parts at it" strategy and very expensive. Ford should back this issue up, based on so many reports of occurrences online from owners.
I own a properly maintained 2011 Ford F-250. Today, 14 instances of what is commonly know as "Ford Death Wobble" occurred to me on the interstate highway while I drove 250 miles. Violent front end shaking at speeds over 55mph after driving over rough bridges or bumps in the road. Several times I almost lost control of my truck it shook so badly. I had to sharply decrease speed below 35 mph before shaking would stop and I could regain control. I can easily reproduce this problem, but I learned to drive no faster than 50 mph the rest of the way home on the interstate in order to mostly avoid further cases of violent shaking. In addition to almost losing control of my truck, having to slam on my brakes to reduce speed put myself and other vehicles at risk on a highway with fast-moving vehicles. I will be taking it to a Ford dealer tomorrow to see if they can resolve this very dangerous defect.
The contact owns a 2011 Ford F-250. The contact stated while driving 65 MPH and switching lanes and depressing the brake, the vehicle started to shake abnormally. There was no warning light illuminated. The contact stated that after decelerating, the vehicle stopped shaking. The dealer was contacted and made aware of the failure. The contact was informed that the VIN was not under recall. The contact was referred to the manufacturer for assistance. The manufacturer was contacted and informed about the failure. The manufacturer confirmed that the VIN was not under recall and referred the contact to the NHTSA Hotline to file a complaint. The failure mileage was 160,000.
The frame rails that hold and support the bed/box rotted prematurely. Box could fly off while driving and cause accident
Driving on highway at about 60 mph and truck wheel started wobbling violently ….. searing wheel violently oscillating right left right left uncontrollably!!! Finally stopped after slowing down to below speed on highway … totally unsafe !!! My shoulders and neck hurt for several days from trying to keep the truck straight. Thank God it was not a busy freeway at the moment or I would have been hit or my horse trailer which I was pulling. No way to stop the violent oscillation except slow to almost stop
component= Michelin tire (the tire tread separed from tire) Half of the tread start to hit the vehicle yes discount tire no warning This happened at low speed. If the same happen at High speed the truck can be flipped
When traveling on the interstate at aprox. 70-75 mph the steering wheel began to violently shake to the point that I was worried if I could keep control of the truck. Fortunately there was no one behind me as I had to slam on my brakes and slow to 40 mph before the shaking stopped. I was able to make it home without this occuring again.
Wobble in front end
The contact owns a 2011 Ford F-250. The contact stated that while making a turn in either direction, there was an abnormal crunching sound coming from the vehicle. There was no warning light illuminated. Upon investigation, the contact discovered that the sound was caused by a misalignment between the cab and the bed of the truck. Due to the failure the cab mount bushings became worn and needed to be replaced or repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and informed the contact that there were no recalls on the VIN. The contact was provided a case number and was then referred to the NHTSA Hotline to report the failure. The vehicle was not yet repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 7,000.
I traveled less than a quarter mile down the road and the truck started knocking I turned back towards my house & I was only traveling around 5 miles an hour then I heard a loud pop no warning lights came on or even an alarm sounding before this happened after the loud pop the truck immediately locked up and started pouring dark smoke from the engine compartment I jumped out of the truck & ran for cover thinking it was going to burst into flames the truck has 125000 miles on it roughly the truck is available for inspection from anyone who is interested in finding out what caused what could be a very hazardous potentially deadly occurrence happening to anyone else in a different setting on a freeway or highway in a high traffic area it definitely would have been a very different situation I live in a tiny town out in the sticks as. I also mentioned I was literally less than 1000 ft from where I live
The contact owns a 2011 Ford F-250. The contact stated while driving at an undisclosed speed, the door ajar warning light illuminated and indicated that the rear passenger’s side door was open. The contact checked and confirmed that the door was securely closed. The contact stated that occasionally after closing and locking the door, the alarm would inadvertently activate after approximately an hour. The dealer was contacted and it was suggested that the vehicle be taken to be diagnosed. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 234,395.
While traveling on the highway, after driving over a slight bump prior to an overpass, the front wheels shook violently while jerking the steering wheel from my hands. This occurred three separate times.
The contact owns a 2011 Ford F-250. The contact stated that while driving at approximately 68-70 MPH, the vehicle drove over a bump and experienced a death wobble. The contact attempted to turn the steering wheel with force, but the vehicle crashed into a guardrail. The contact developed blisters on the palms of his hands from gripping the steering wheel, but medical attention was not received. Police arrived on the scene; however, no police report was filed. The vehicle was towed to the dealer, and the contact was informed that he needed to pay for the diagnostic. The vehicle was then towed to the residence, where the contact replaced the steering gearbox, ball joints, tie rod ends, track bar, shocks, front springs, and wheel bearings. The failure recurred. The vehicle was later taken to three different independent mechanics; however, the cause of failure was not found. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and advised the contact to file a complaint with the NHTSA Hotline. The failure mileage was approximately 167,000.
The steering is lock up while drive you Issued a recall for Meijer model vehicle but my vehicle is not included and the steering is locking up while driving down the road that acts like the power steering pump is going out this having the same problem with the cylinder as the others
Short in body control module for fog lights.
This truck developed "death wobble" after a simple tire rotation. At approximately 53mph, any bump in the road surface would cause the front end to shake violently and cause the truck to be uncontrollable. While violent, it locks the truck into an unsteerable condition and only hard braking can stop the truck. the truck shuttered violently until stopped. From the repairs it appears a combination of weakening shocks and steering stabilizer cause the front end to shutter mildly and probably constantly until the bushings on the track bar are worn enough to cause problems. Then any alteration in front end components, like rotating the tires will unbalance the entire precarious set-up. Once "death wobble" has occurred, it becomes more violent and happens more often until the truck is fixed. Worst of all, there is no single fix or known fix for this problem. The owner if forced to spent thousands of dollars trying every known fix until the problem stops. It was so violent, I was concerned the truck could possibly destroy itself. I was astounded the entire truck did not shake itself apart, it was extremely violent and made steering impossible. I had to drive back to the tire shop at 45mph and carefully avoid even the most minor bump in the road to stop the truck from shaking itself to pieces or killing us.
Own a 2011 F250 super duty and have experienced the death wobble on numerous occasions. I’m getting concerned because it has been getting worse. It takes longer for the oscillation to dissipate as I do my best to slow down without losing control. Please help all who have experienced this to get resolution without the high cost that is related. It is a danger to ourselves and possibly others as I control the vehicle on a busy highway and others have to brake. Thank you, Bill
I was going 65 MPH in center lane, hit a pothole. The right front wheel began to vibrate wildly. I thought it was going to fall off. I slammed my brakes and veered sharply right to reach the breakdown lane. We were nearly in a violent collision. The car behind me slammed his breaks, leaving skid marks, the car in the lane to my right was forced into the breakdown lane, also leaving skid marks. We had 200 miles to home which we drove slowly without further incident. I had to replace: tie rod ends, steering damper, ball joint, stabilizer bar. Truck needed an alignment. $1008.37. 4 months later, I hit a pothole. The LEFT front tire vibrated wildly. Now I knew what do do.
Hold down clamps for the fuel injectors are breaking or coming loose on diesel engine. Injectors are not visible for a person to look at as they are buried by covers. Due to the injector coming loose it would allow combustion gasses to escape the cylinder causing other injectors to become damaged and possibly causing a fire. This issue has happened 2 times on my truck and both times the Ford Technicians stated that it is not something that should happen. Vehicle was inspected/fixed by Ford dealership Techs back in March of 2021 and again in May of 2021(still there at this time). A check engine light came on and i immediately drove to the dealership both times. I will provide a picture of a Ford tech site where they talk about this issue happening and their internal memo. Ford at this time refuses to fix the issue and is making me pay for their defective parts.
WITH ABSOLUTE ZERO NOTICE A CYLINDER MISFIRED WHICH CAUSED THE CRANK SHAFT TO BREAK AND THE ENGINE TO BLOW. WE MAINTAINED THIS VEHICLE VERY REGULARLY AND NEVER HAD ANY ISSUES.
The problem with this vehicle is Death Wobble from the front suspension of the truck. Over the years it has done this and is quite dangerous when at highway speed, because when it happens, you will have to slow to 30 MPH to regain control of the the truck. I have had this issue fixed two separate times, about every four years, by replacing the ball joint and track bar. These repairs are costing about $450 usd. There are no warning before this problem happens. You simply have to hit a bump in the road going 60-70 MPH for it happen.
EXPERIENCE DEATH WOBBLE EVERY TIME I MERGE ONTO THE HIGHWAY. RESULTS IN LOSS OF CONTROL AND IS VERY HARD TO CONTROL AND MAINTAIN IN MY LANE.
2011 FORD F250 DEATH WOBBLE. FRONT END REPAIRED AFTER SEVERAL WOBBLE INCIDENTS IN 2018. VEHICLE NOW BEGINS SHAKING AT SPEED OF 45MPH AND UNCONTROLLABLE AT 65MPH. I EITHER HAVE TO SLOW DOWN, OR ACCELERATE TO 70+ TO AVOID THE WOBBLE, BUT STEERING STILL SHAKES
AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS IF HITTING A DEFECT IN THE ROAD, LIKE A POTHOLE OR SOME KIND OF DIP, MY FRONT END STARTS SHAKING VIOLENTLY AND I CAN BARELY KEEP CONTROL OF THE TRUCK. THIS IS KNOWN AS DEATH WOBBLE. THIS HAS HAPPENED MULTIPLE TIMES WHILE DRIVING DOWN THE HIGHWAY.
TRAVELING ON INTERSTATE ONRAMP GETTING UP TO SPEED AND AT APPROXIMATELY 50 MPH HIT A SMALL BUMP AND FRONT END STARTED TO SHAKE VIOLENTLY TO THE POINT I HAD TO SLOW TO 30 MPH FOR IT TO STOP ALMOST CAUSING ACCIDENT. ACCELERATED UP TO 75 MPH AGAIN WITH NO ISSUE. APPROXIMATELY 3 MILES AFTER THE FIRST INCIDENT I WENT ACROSS A BRIDGE AND THE BUMP AT BRIDGE TRANSITION CAUSED THE TRUCK TO AGAIN VIOLENTLY SHAKE UNTIL I SLOWED DOWN TO 30MPH. NO MODIFICATIONS TO THE VEHICLE SUSPENSION. TRUCK HAS 112000 MILES. DEALER SAYS NOTHING WRONG EVEN THOUGH IT HAPPENED WHILE TESTING IT. IT DOES NOT HAPPEN EVERYTIME I HIT A BUMP. BUT IT DOES HAPPEN 2-3 TIMES PER MONTH
ALMOST KILLED ME AND MY FAMILY FROM DEATH WOBBLE ON THE HIGHWAY. TRUCK VIOLENTLY SHAKES WHEN BUMPS ARE HIT GOING OVER 50MPH. EXTREME SAFETY HAZARD. HIT A BUMP ON I-25 AND SHOOK ACROSS 3 LANES OF TRAFFIC. THIS IS ABOUT 6 TIMES SINCE I BOUGHT THE VEHICLE AND THE DEALER SAYS THERE ARE NO ISSUES WITH THE TRUCK. I KNOW 8 FORD OWNERS WITH THE EXACT SAME ISSUE.
SEAT BELT WILL NOT STAY LATCHED SITTING STILL OR IN MOTION. THIS IS AN UNACCEPTABLE FAILURE.
MY FORD F-250 STARTS SHAKING VERY VERY BAD WHEN I HIT A SMALL BUMP ON THE FREEWAY. TO GET THE VERY SCARY WOBBLE TO STOP I NEED TO SLOW DOWN ON THE FREEWAY BETWEEN 20-30 MILES PER HOUR. THIS HAS HAPPENED OVER 50 TIMES. I'VE HAD IT HAPPEN 3 TIMES WITHIN TEN MILES BEFORE. SLOWING DOWN TO 20-30 ON THE FREEWAY HAS BEEN VERY DANGEROUS. AND I HAVE ALMOST BEEN IN A FEW ACCIDENTS BECAUSE OF IT. IT IS SO BAD AND DANGEROUS THAT I TRY NOT TO EVER HAVE ANYONE RIDE IN MY TRUCK WITH ME. MY FAMILY IS SCARED TO RIDE IT IT ANYWAYS.
DEATH WOBBLE. AS I WAS ACCELERATING TO ENTER FREEWAY TRAFFIC MY RIGHT FRONT WHEEL HIT A POT HOLE ON THE ON RAMP. I WAS DOING APPROXIMATELY 50 MPH. THE TRUCK IMMEDIATELY WENT INTO A WOBBLE THAT WAS ALMOST UN-CONTROLLABLE. I WAS ABLE TO SLOW MY TRUCK AND DRIVE TO THE SHOULDER OF THE FREEWAY. I INSPECTED THE FRONT END, TIRES, SHOCKS, STEERING DAMPENER (WHICH WERE NEW) AND DID NOT FIND ANY PROBLEMS.
WAS DRIVING TRUCK APPROXIMATELY 60 MPH WHEN IT BEGAN EXPERIENCING DEATH WOBBLE. THIS HAS BEEN OCCURRING MORE AND MORE FREQUENTLY OVER THE PAST 6 MONTHS AND I RECENTLY HAD THE SHOCKS, STEERING DAMPENER, & DRAG LINK REPLACED AND IT ONLY MADE THE WOBBLE WORSE. I HAD TO PULL OVER TWICE WITHIN 5 MILES TO GET THE STEERING WHEEL TO STOP SHAKING.
2011 FORD F250 WITH 6.7 LITER DIESEL ENGINE BLEW A FUEL INJECTOR DUE TO A BROKEN HOLD DOWN CLAMP. WHILE BEING REPAIRED, MECHANIC NOTICED TWO OTHER CLAMPS WERE CRACKED AND THEY WERE REPLACED BY UPGRADED CLAMPS FROM FORD. ENGINE HAS 62K MILES ON IT. WRITER HAS SEEN NUMEROUS POSTS ONLINE FROM OTHER OWNERS WITH THE SAME ISSUE.
The truck has developed the "death wobble" at speeds between 50 and 60mph. Driving becomes uncontrollable as the truck shakes and bounces very hard and I have to rapidly come to a stop. I've had some work done on it at a local shop but it hasn't solved the problem. It's basically not highway road worthy but I can drive it around town.
DEATH WOBBLE, SHAKING UNCONTROLLABLY WHEN HITTING BUMPS OR UNEVEN ROADS ON HIGHWAY AT 65MPH
FORD F-250 CREWCAB WITH NO AFTERMARKET PARTS & FORD RECOMMENDED RIMS/TIRES: A MONTH AGO I NOTICED WOBBLING/SHAKING SIMILAR TO THE DESCRIBED 'DEATH WOBBLE'. PLACED TRUCK IN FOR SERVICE AND A RECOMMENDATION FOR A SOLUTION. WHILE DRIVING OVER 50 MPH AND THE VEHICLE RUNS OVER BUMP ON THE HIGHWAY, THE STEERING WHEEL AND TRUCK WILL SHAKE VIOLENTLY. AS THIS SO CALLED DEATH WOBBLE OCCURS I WILL COAST OVER TO THE EMERGENCY LANE AND COAST TO A STOP. I HAVE NOTICED VEHICLES BEHIND ME SLOW DOWN QUICKLY AND I AM ASSUMING THEY ARE SEE TRUCK SHAKE VIOLENTLY, TOO. IF OTHER DRIVERS ARE SEEING THIS DEATH WOBBLE OCCURRING I AM WONDERING IF THESE DRIVERS ARE TAKING EMERGENCY AVOIDANCE ACTIONS WHICH COULD CAUSE AN ACCIDENT TO OTHERS. HOW SAFE ARE F-250/F-350 TO BE ON THE ROAD? THE PICKUP HAS BEEN THE SHOP TWICE FOR REPAIRS AND NOW I NEED TO CONTACT THE SHOP AGAIN FOR THIRD RECOMMENDATION. ALL OF THE FORD RECOMMENDATIONS HAVE BEEN COMPLETED BUT THE DEATH WOBBLE RETURNS AGAIN IN LESS THAN 60 MILES. I CANNOT SELL THE PICK-UP BECAUSE I KNOW THE PICK-UP HAS THE DEATH WOBBLE. 'SO NOW I AM STUCK WITH A PICK-UP THAT CANNOT BE DRIVEN ON THE HIGHWAY. PLEASE POST ANY SUGGESTIONS/RECOMMENDATIONS FOR A REPAIR FOR THE DEATH WOBBLE. THANK YOU FOR YOUR HELP
