AT 89,000 APPROX. MILES, THE CLOCK SPRING IN THE STEERING FAILED AND ALL BUTTONS BECAME USELESS ON THE WHEEL. THE MECHANIC STATES IT MUST BE REPAIRED ASAP AS THIS WILL CAUSE THE AIRBAG TO EITHER NOT DEPLOY OR RANDOMLY DEPLOY WHILE DRIVING. THIS WAS A RECALL ON F150S AND SHOULD BE A RECALL ON THE F250 AS WELL SINCE THIS IS EXTREMELY DANGEROUS FOR MYSELF AS WELL AS OTHER DRIVERS. DUE TO IT 'NOT' BEING A RECALL, I WAS TOLD BY FORD THEY JUST HAD A BAD RUN OF VEHICLES AROUND THAT TIME AND SINCE IT HASN'T BEEN RECALLED THEN WE WOULD JUST HAVE TO PAY FOR THE REPAIR OVER $500 TO ENSURE MY SAFETY, BUT THE NEW ONES SUPPOSEDLY ARE MUCH BETTER. ED SHERLING FORD CLAIMED THEY JUST BUILT BAD VEHICLES THEN AND HAD LOTS OF ELECTRICAL AND SAFETY ISSUES. SOUNDS LIKE THE OVERSIGHT AUTHORITY FAILED TO DO ITS JOB WITH DOMESTIC VEHICLES. PROBABLY WHY MOST PEOPLE WANT FOREIGN VEHICLES INSTEAD AS THEY'RE HELD TO A HIGHER STANDARD WITH BETTER OVERSIGHT THAT LAID BACK UNION BOSSES IN YACHTS PRETENDING TO HANDLE THEIR BUSINESS HERE IN THE STATES. SAD AMERICA CAN'T BUILD A DECENT VEHICLE ANYMORE. WE WERE ONCE THE GREATEST, BUT NOW... WE GOTTA GET IT CHEAP TO ENSURE AN 8 FIGURE SALARY FOR SOME. ABSOLUTELY PATHETIC THIS WAS MISSED IN SUCH AN EXPENSIVE VEHICLE.
MY TRUCK VIOLENTLY SHAKES AFTER HITTING A BUMP OR GROOVE. I AM BARELY ABLE TO CONTROL IT AND IT WILL NOT STOP UNTIL YOU BRING THE VEHICLE TO A STOP.
We have experienced the well-reported Death Wobble multiple times - beginning approx in 2020 - going approx 55 mph on a one-lane highway and hit a slight bump in the road. Could not control the vehicle, the steering wheel started shaking violently as we headed for a concrete bridge. Had to stop the vehicle completely. Then we experienced the same Incident on different roads. We had the vehicle front end fixed by a reputable mechanic, and we’ve ended up having the front end suspension rebuilt, so far 3 times. The latest incident was in 2024, we experienced it again driving about 60 mph. This truck is standard stock - has not been lifted or modified in any way. We do not drive it very often as it is used as a farm vehicle.
FUEL FILTER EXPLODED CONTAMINATING FUEL SYSTEM
WHEN TRAVELING OVER 50 MPH WHEN MY VEHICLE HITS A BUMP, I GET A "DEATH WOBBLE" WHERE THE FRONT END SHAKES UNCONTROLLABLY. THE ONLY OPTION THAT I HAVE IS TO SLOW THE VEHICLE DOWN TO 35 OR BELOW TO GET IT TO STOP. I'VE COME CLOSE TO EITHER LOSING CONTROL OR GETTING HIT FROM BEHIND ON SEVERAL OCCASIONS. I CAN REPLICATE THIS EVENT BY GOING OVER DIFFERENT BUMPS IN THE ROAD. I HAVE RE-ALIGNED MY VEHICLE, REPLACED THE BRAKE SYSTEM, INSTALLED A NEW STEERING DAMPNER, ROTORS, ETC, TO NO AVAIL. FORD DEALERSHIPS PLAY STUPID AND ACT AS IF THERE'S NO PROBLEM, I'VE TAKEN IT TO MULTIPLE MECHANICS AND THEY INSIST THAT IT'S FAULTY PARTS WITHIN THE STEERING AND SUSPENSION. WOULD LIKE TO HAVE IT REPAIRED IF POSSIBLE, BUT DON'T HAVE A LOT OF OPTIONS AS TO WHAT THE TRUE CAUSE IS. PLEASE ADVISE AS TO WHETHER OR NOT YOU HAVE ANY OTHER COMPLAINTS . THIS HAS BEEN AN ONGOING ISSUE SINCE I PURCHASED THE VEHICLE NEW IN 2011. IT HAS ONLY GOTTEN WORSE AS IT GETS OLDER.
VEHICLE IS EXPERIENCING "DEATH WOBBLE". DEALERSHIP INSTALLED KC3Z 3E651 B:DAMPER ASSY TO FIX THE ISSUE. PROBLEM RE-OCCURRED WITHIN WEEKS. TOOK IT BACK TO THE DEALER AND THEY COULD NOT EXPLAIN. THIS TIME THEY SAID THE TRAC BAR BALL JOINT NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. REPLACED IT AND HAD THE SAME PROBLEM RE-OCCURRING WITHIN DAYS. THIS PROBLEM OCCURS RANDOMLY WHEN DRIVING OVER MINOR BUMPS, ROAD SEAMS IN BRIDGES, ETC. WITH AND WITHOUT CARRYING A LOAD. INDICATIONS ARE HEAVY VIBRATIONS IN THE FRONT END/STEERING THAT WILL NOT STOP UNTIL YOU LET THE VEHICLE DE-ACCELERATE ON IT'S OWN WITHOUT USING THE BRAKE.
THE STEERING DAMPER HAS MALFUNCTION WHICH CAUSED DEATH WOBBLE. THE TRUCK ALMOST FLIPPED.
MY 2011 F-250 KING RANCH DIESEL HAS A 'DEATH WOBBLE'. I BOUGHT IT ABOUT 8 MONTHS AGO AND IT HAPPENED TO ME THREE TIME AND MY STEP SON ONCE. IT DOESN'T HAVE TO BE A VERY BIG BUMP FOR THE WOBBLE TO START. I HAVE TRIED TO 'DRIVE THROUGH' THE WOBBLE BUT IT JUST GETS WORSE. NONE OF THE MECHANICS I HAVE TALKED TO CAN TELL ME HOW TO FIX IT. I HAVE HAD TWO INCIDENTS OF WINDOWS EXPLODING ON ME OUT OF NOWHERE. THE FIRST INCIDENT HAPPENED ON 2/21/20 NEAR CEDARVALE, NM. THEN, JUST YESTERDAY(8/9/20), I WAS SITTING AT A PICNIC AREA ALONGSIDE THE SAME ROAD(RT 247) AND WITHIN 10 MILES OF WHERE THE OTHER OCCURENCE TOOK PLACE, AND MY BACK REAR WINDOW OF MY TRUCK JUST EXPLODED OUT OF NOWHERE AGAIN. THE FIRST INCIDENT HAPPENED WHEN I WAS DRIVING ALONG THE HIGHWAY AT AROUND 65 MPH, AND THE MOST RECENT INCIDENT HAPPENED WHEN THE VEHICLE WAS PARKED.
SHORTLY AFTER PURCHASING THE TRUCK, WAS DRIVING ON RESIDENTIAL STREET @ A LOW SPEED & FRONT END STARTED SHAKING UNCOMTROLLABLE,AFTER RUNNING OVER A MAN HOLE COVER HAD TO FULLY STOP FULLY, SHORTLY AFTER I WAS GETTING ON AN EXPRESSSSSY & RAN OVER SMALL CHUG HOLE AND IT STARTED AGAIN, TOOK TO MY MECHANIC WHO INSTALLED A HEAVY DUTY STABILIZER BAR, NEW SHOCKS A NEW CAMBER KIT & 2 ALLIGNMENTS, STILL DOES THE SAME THING, HOPING FORD HAS THE ANSWER FOR REPAIRS, WOULD LOVE TO BE ABLE TO PULL OUR RV WITH THE GRANDKIDS & WIFE
DEATH WOBBLE
DRIVING 45 MPH ON ROAD I DRIVE ALL THE TIME AND ALL OF THE SUDDEN THE TRUCK STARTED SHAKING VIOLENTLY AND THERE WAS NO ABILITY TO STEER AT ALL BECAUSE OF THE SHAKING. I HAD TO SLOW THE TRUCK DOWN TO JUST A FEW MPH TO GET THE SHAKING TO STOP. IT WAS EXTREMELY SCARY AND THERE WAS ABSOLUTELY NO WAY TO TURN THE VEHICLE IN ANY DIRECTION IF I HAD NEEDED TO. *TR
I WAS DRIVING ON THE INTERSTATE AND HIT A BUMP IN THE ROAD AND THE STEERING WHEEL WAS SHAKING UNCONTROLLABLY, BRAKES BARELY WORKED WHILE TRYING TO PULL OFF THE ROAD. AT FIRST I THOUGHT THAT MY TIRES WERE ABOUT TO COME OFF MY TRUCK, THE SHAKING WAS SO BAD THAT ITEMS IN THE SEAT ENDED UP ON THE FLOORBOARD OF THE TRUCK. WHILE TRYING TO GET THE TRUCK TO STOP AND OFF THE INTERSTATE I WAS ALMOST REAR ENDED BY AN 18 WHEELER. *TR
VIOLENT SHAKING AT FREEWAY SPEEDS THAT OCCUR BETWEEN 55-75 MPH CAUSING THE 'DEATH WOBBLE' HAVE TO SLOW DOWN TO UNDER 40 MPH TO HAVE THE SHAKING COMPLETELY STOP HAVE REPLACED THE STEERING DAMPER, THE TRACK BAR WITH NEW BUSHINGS AND HAVE HAD AN ALIGNMENT DONE AND HAVE HAD SEVERAL SHOPS LOOK AT IT AND HAVE FOUND NO OTHER ISSUES WITH THE FRONT END, STEERING COMPONENTS OR SUSPENSION COMPONENTS THAT NEED TO BE REPLACED. SPOKE WITH A LOCAL FORD DEALERSHIP AND WAS TOLD THAT I NEEDED TO REPLACE THE STEERING DAMPER AND THAT WOULD SOLVE THE PROBLEM WHICH I KNOW IT DID NOT BECAUSE IT HAD ALREADY BEEN REPLACED AND THIS WOBBLE HAS HAPPENED ALMOST 10 TIMES IN LESS THEN A FEW MONTHS. *TR
VEHICLE IN MOTION AT 60 TO 65 MPH ON SMOOTH PUBLIC CITY HIGHWAY WHEN THE VEHICLE BEGAN SHAKING UNCONTROLLABLY PARTICULARLY IN THE FRONT END. STEERING BECAME DIFFICULT TO CONTROL AND ALTHOUGH I IMMEDIATELY BEGAN TO BRAKE AND ATTEMPT TO KEEP IT FROM THE MEDIAN OR DITCH THE VEHICLE DIDN'T CEASE THE UNCONTROLLABLE SHAKING UNTIL I CAME TO A NEAR STOP OFF THE EDGE OF THE HIGHWAY. IT CONTINUES TO FEEL AS IF IT WERE ABOUT TO OCCUR ANY MOMENT AGAIN THE REMAINING 20 MILES TO MY HOME. I INTEND ON TAKING IT TO THE FORD DEALERSHIP FIRST THING IN THE MORNING AS IF WAS A DANGEROUS SITUATION TO MYSELF AND WIFE AS WELL AS OTHER DRIVERS ON THE HIGHWAY. PURCHASED VEHICLE LESS THAN 5 MONTHS AGO.

THE CONTACT STATED WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 50 MPH AND DRIVING OVER A BUMP IN THE ROADWAY, THE FRONT END OF THE VEHICLE SUDDENLY STARTED TO VIOLENTLY SHAKE AND VIBRATE. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE LOCAL DEALER AUTONATION FORD LOCATED AT 4355 JONESBORO RD, UNION CITY, GA 30291, WHO DIAGNOSED THAT THE SUSPENSION NEEDED TO BE REPAIRED. THE DAMPER ASSEMBLY, FRONT SUSPENSION, BALL JOINTS, AND TIE ROD CONNECTIONS WERE REPLACED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 94,000.
FRONT END SHIMMY THAT IS FELT IN THE STEERING WHILE MOVING AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS.
TRUCK STARTED GETTING BAD FUEL MILEAGE AND WOULD NOT GET UP TO SPEED VERY FAST TOOK TRUCK TO AUTOZONE AND HAD CODES READ WAS READING P20BD AND P20BE SO LOOKED UP VIN AND IT STATED IT HAD A RECALL ON THE DEF REDUCTANT HEATER WHICH WHERE THE CODES PULLED UP CALLED AND SCHEDULED AN APPOINTMENT FOR IT TO GET FIXED AT YAKLIN FORD IN RICH WOOD TEXAS TOOK IT IN FOR THE RECALL AND NOW THEY ARE TRYING TO SAY IT'S NOT COVERED ON RECALL AND NOW WHEN I LOOK UP MY VIN THE RECALL IS GONE WHAT CAN I DO TRUCK ONLY HAS 95000 MILES
FRONT TIRES GO INTO A DEATH WOBBLE AS YOU ARE DRIVING OVER 55 MPH AND CANNOT BE CONTROLLED. MUST PULL OVER AND STOP TO CORRECT BUT IT WILL HAPPEN AGAIN.

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHERE ALL FOUR TIRES WERE REPLACED AND TWICE AN ALIGNMENT WAS COMPLETED. THE TECHNICIAN INFORMED THE CONTACT IT COULD BE A DEATH WOBBLE RELATED FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT TAKEN TO A DEALER AND WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE FAILURE RECURRED NUMEROUS TIMES INTERMITTENTLY. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 95,000.
UNCONTROLABLE FRONT WHEEL BOUNCE AT SPEEDS ABOVE 45 MPH WHEN YOU HIT EVEN THE SLIGHTEST BUMP OR VARIATION IN THE ROAD. ENTIRE TRUCK SHAKES AND YOU HAVE TO SLOW DOWN TO 20 MPH OR LOWER TO GET THE BOUNCE TO STOP. HAS HAPPENED AT LEAST 30 OR MORE TIMES. TIRES, TIRE PRESSURE, SHOCKS, STEERING STABALIZER, AND ALL FRONT END COMPONENTS HAVE BEEN CHECK AND REPLACED. STILL CONTINUES TO HAPPEN. THIS ISSUE IS EXTREMELY WIDESPREAD WITH MANY FORUMS TALKING ABOUT IT. THIS WILL CAUSE MULTIPLE DEATHS IF NOT HANDLED SWIFTLY. DRIVER HAS NOT CONTROL OVER VEHICLE UNTIL THE BOUNCE STOPS. AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS (45 MPH +) THIS IS NOT AN ISSUE THAT CAN BE PUT OFF ANY LONGER. RECENTLY WATCHED ANOTHER FORD F250 (WITH 6.7 ENGINE, SO 2011 OR NEWER) GET THE TIRE BOUNCE AND ENDED UP GOING OFF THE ROAD AND ROLLING TWICE. I HIT THE SAME AREA AND WAS ABLE TO CONTROL THE BOUNCE AND SLOW BECAUSE I SAW THE OTHER FORD CRASH. I AM TRYING TO RESEARCH THE CRASH AND GET A POLICE REPORT NUMBER TO SUBMIT. I CAN'T EMPHASIZE HOW IMPORTANT IT IS THAT THIS GETS HANDLED AND FIXED BY FORD!!
TRAVELING ON INTERSTATE HIGHWAY 40 SPEED 65 MPH MY 2011 FORD F-250 CREW CAB SUPERDUTY EXPERIENCED AN EXTREMELY VIOLENT SHAKING OF VEHICLE FRONT END WHICH CAME VERY NEAR TO COMPLETE LOSS OF CONTROL. THE ONLY WAY TO STOP THE SHAKING WAS TO HIT THE BRAKES HARD AND DROP DOWN TO 20 MPH OR SO BEFORE THE SHAKING STOPPED-DANGEROUS ON A HIGH SPEED HIGHWAY. LOOKED IT UP WHEN I RETURNED FROM TRIP AND APPARENTLY THIS IS A FAIRLY COMMON PROBLEM. SUGGESTED FIXES OF ALIGNMENT, SHOCK REPLACEMENT AND TIRE BALANCING DID NOT WORK-STILL EXPERIENCE THE PROBLEM ABOUT ONCE A MONTH-ALWAYS IN A STRAIGHT LINE AND SPEEDS BETWEEN 55 AND 70 MPH. BUMPS IN THE ROAD MAKE IT MORE LIKELY TO HAPPEN. DATE BELOW IS THE LAST TIME IT OCCURRED-IT HAS HAPPENED ABOUT 10 TIMES IN THE LAST YEAR.
DEATH WOBBLE! DEALERSHIP HAS REPLACED BALL JOINT, BUSHING, NEW TIRES, SOME CONNECTING ROD ' STILL HAPPENS!!! THIS IS GOING TO KILL ME OR SOMEBODY!!! IT HAPPENS AT 70 MPH AND ABOVE. THIS IS ALL OVER THE INTERNET ' FORD KNOWS ABOUT IT; THEY JUST HAVEN'T FIXED IT.
DEATH WOBBLE. WHILE IN THE HIGHWAY AT SPEEDS ABOVE 45 MPH IF YOU HIT ANY SORT OF BUMP THE FRONT END STARTS SHAKING UNCONTROLLABLY AND HAVE TO SLOW DOWN TO ABOUT 25MPH TO REGAIN CONTROL. THIS HAS HAPPENED TO ME OVER 15 TIMES IN THE LAST MONTH. IT IS VERY DANGEROUS AND I HAVE ALMOST BEEN IN SEVERE ACCIDENTS A COUPLE TIMES. I HAVE HAD IT AT THE SHOP TO FIX THIS PROBLEM. THEY REPLACED THE STEERING STABILIZER AND THE PROBLEM DID NOT GO AWAY. AFTER READING FOR HOURS ONLINE THERE IS NO EFFECTIVE FIX FOR THIS. THIS SEEMS TO BE A DANGEROUS DESIGN DEFECT THAT FORD WILL NOT ADDRESS. PLEASE HELP

ON THE 17TH OF OCTOBER 2019 DRIVING DOWN THE INTERSTATE FROM NEBRASKA TO COLORADO MY TRUCK IT WOULD HIT A BUMP OR SEAM IN THE ROAD AND IT WOULD START TO SHAKE THE STEERING WHEEL WOULD SHAKE THE TRUCK WAS SHAKE VIGOROUSLY UNTIL I HAD SLOWED IT DOWN TO LESS THAN 20 IT WOULD QUIT THIS HAPPENED TO ME ABOUT 7 TIMES FROM THEN ON I JUST KEPT SPEED DOWN GET OFF THAT I GOT OFF THE INTERSTATE AND MY KEPT MY SPEED DOWN TO UNDER 60 AND IT DID NOT HAPPEN AGAIN I DID TAKE IT TO THE DEALER TO BE FIXED, AT MY EXPENSE, I BOUGHT NEW TIRES I HAD THE ALIGNMENT DONE AND EVERYBODY TELLS ME THIS WILL FIX WHAT THEY CALL THE DEATH WOBBLE BUT IT WAS VERY SCARY AND MY TRUCK ONLY HAS 45000 MILES ON IT! THE VEHICLE HAS AN EXCESSIVE WOBBLE ALSO KNOWN AS THE DEATH WOBBLE WHEN YOU HIT ANY SLIGHT IMPERFECTIONS IN THE ROAD OR SOMETIMES ON NEWER PAVED ROADS. THE VEHICLE GOES INTO A SUDDEN LOSS OF CONTROL STATE AND YOU MUST SLOW DOWN TO 20 MPH BEFORE YOU CAN RECOVER THE LOSS OF CONTROL. THE VEHICLE HAS BEEN RETURNED TO FORD AND I HAVE SPENT OVER $2400.00 REPLACING FRONT END PARTS AND TIRES WITH SLIGHT IMPROVEMENTS. THE DEATH WOBBLE IS STILL OCCURRING AND IS HIGHLY DANGEROUS WHILE DRIVING ESPECIALLY ON THE INTERSTATE OR HEAVY TRAFFIC AT HIGHER SPEEDS IN EXCESS OF 35 MPH.
MY TRUCK STARTED SHAKING VIOLENTLY AFTER HITTING A BUMP IN THE ROAD. THE INTERNET CALLS THIS THE DEATH WOBBLE AND APPARENTLY IT IS AFFECTING A LOT OF FORD F250 TRUCKS.
WHILE DRIVING AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS AND HITTING A ROUGH PATCH OF ROAD, THE VEHICLE WILL START TO SHAKE VIOLENTLY UNTIL I AM ABLE TO PULL OFF TO THE SHOULDER. THIS IS EXTREMELY DANGEROUS AND HAS HAPPENED WHILE TOWING AS WELL AS WITHOUT A LOAD. TRUCK WAS "FIXED" 2 YEARS AGO AND THE PROBLEM WASN'T AS BAD, BUT STILL PRESENT. AFTER A RECENT TIRE ROTATION, THE PROBLEM RETURNED. THE TRUCK IS CURRENTLY IN THE SHOP WAITING FOR A NEW DIAGNOSIS.
WHEN THE VEHICLE HITS A HARD BUMP IN THE ROAD AT HIGHWAY SPEED, THE FRONT TIRES BEGIN TO WOBBLE. THIS IS CAUSES THE WHOLE VEHICLE TO SHAKE VIOLENTLY AND IT WILL NOT STOP UNTIL THE VEHICLE IS BROUGHT TO A STOP. THE INTERNET CALLS THIS EVENT A DEATH WOBBLE.
I'M EXPERIENCING THE DEATH WOBBLE WHILE DRIVING AFTER HITTING A BUMP IN THE ROAD. IT HAPPENS ON REGULAR ROADS AND INTERSTATES. I HAVE CHANGED ALL FRONT END PARTS AND SHOCKS, GOT NEW TIRES BALANCED AND ALIGNED, AND IT'S STILL NOT FIXED. I'M TOLD THERE'S NOTHING ELSE THAT CAN BE DONE. IT HAS BEEN HAPPENING FOR OVER A YEAR. IT HAS HAPPENED ANYWHERE BETWEEN 40MPH AND 70MPH.
THE TRUCK RANDOMLY GOES INTO NEUTRAL FOR VERY EXTENDED AMOUNT OF TIME AND AND HAS NO THROTTLE CONTROL DURING WHILE STANDER-ED DRIVING. THE TRUCK ONLY HAS 61000 MILES ON IT JUST OUT OF WARRANTY AND I HAVE CONTACTED FORD. AND THEY DO NOT HELP
TRUCK DEVELOPED WHAT IS CALLED "DEATH WOBBLE". WHEN I HIT A BUMP ON HIGHWAY, USUALLY AT SPEEDS AROUND 65 MPH THE STEERING WHEEL AND WHOLE TRUCK SHAKE VIOLENTLY UNTIL I SLOW DOWN TO 35. REPLACED TRACKBAR, DRAGLINK, TIE RODS, STEERING DAMPNER, HAD THE FRONT END ALIGNED BY TWO DIFFERENT SHOPS, STILL DOES IT. THIS HAS BEEN HAPPENING FOR SEVERAL YEARS, I WILL PUT THE DATE OF THE LATEST BELOW.
I CAN NOT GET THIS SOFT BREAK TO GO AWAY! IT NEVER HAD A SOLID BREAK BUT I BOUGHT IT USED AND FIGURED IT NEEDED A BREAK JOB. I HAD CALIPERS TO START LOCKING UP ONE AFTER THE OTHER WITHIN A COUPLE DAYS OF EACH OTHER, SO I REPLACE THEM ALL. THEN THE NEW ONES STARTED GETTING HOT. SO I REPLACE ALL THE BREAK LINES AND MASTER CYLINDER. AFTER ALL THAT I STILL HAVE A VERY SOFT BREAK, ALMOST AS IF THERE IS AIR IN THE LINES. I KNOW AIR CAN'T BE THE ISSUE BECAUSE THE BREAK SYSTEM WAS BLEED USING A MACHINE. NOW AFTER DOING RESEARCH ONLINE I HAVE COME ACROSS A LOT OF PEOPLE TALKING ABOUT THIS EXACT ISSUE. THIS NEEDS TO GET FIXED, THERE IS NO WAY TO TELL WHEN YOU ARE ACTUALLY HAVING BREAK ISSUE COME UP BECAUSE THEY FEEL SPONGY WHEN THEY ARE WORKING AT THERE BEST.
DEATH WOBBLE. WHILE IN THE HIGHWAY AT SPEEDS ABOVE 45 MPH IF YOU HIT ANY SORT OF BUMP THE FRONT END STARTS SHAKING UNCONTROLLABLY AND HAVE TO SLOW DOWN TO ABOUT 25MPH TO REGAIN CONTROL. THIS HAS HAPPENED TO ME OVER 15 TIMES IN THE LAST MONTH. IT IS VERY DANGEROUS AND I HAVE ALMOST BEEN IN SEVERE ACCIDENTS A COUPLE TIMES. I HAVE HAD IT AT THE SHOP TO FIX THIS PROBLEM. THEY REPLACED THE STEERING STABILIZER AND THE PROBLEM DID NOT GO AWAY. AFTER READING FOR HOURS ONLINE THERE IS NO EFFECTIVE FIX FOR THIS. THIS SEEMS TO BE A DANGEROUS DESIGN DEFECT THAT FORD WILL NOT ADDRESS.
I WAS TRAVELLING DOWN THE INTERSTATE AT APPROXIMATELY 72MPH AND THE VEHICLE STARTED SHAKING VIOLENT AND I ALMOST LOST CONTROL. MY WIFE DROVE IT AND I WAS BESIDE HER ON THE INTERSTATE AND IT HAPPENED TO HER ALMOST CAUSING HER TO WRECK THE VEHICLE. I HAD TO CALL HER TO CALM HER DOWN. THE FUEL RAIL PRESSURE SENSOR STARTED SPRAYING DIESEL FUEL ALL OVER THE TOP OF THE MOTOR . THE FUEL IS COMING OUT OF THE TOP OF THE SENSOR .THIS IS ON 05/25/19 .. THIS TRUCK ONLY HAS 132214 ON THE MILEAGE . I AM GETTING TIRED OF PAYING FOR A BROKEN TRUCK EVERY WEEK . LAST WEEK ON 05/05/17/19 THE INNER COOLER BOOT DUCT BLEW APART . THAT WAS A $480 FIX .
REAR BRAKE LINE (STEEL) RUPTURED RESULTING IN COMPLETE LOSS OF BRAKES AT ALL FOUR WHEELS. THE BRAKE LINE WAS ROUTED TO CLOSE TO THE GAS TANK RESULTING IN THE LINE RUBBING ON THE GAS TANK. OVERTIME, THE COATING ON THE LINE FAILED AND THEN THE EXPOSED BARE METAL RUSTED. WHEN THE METAL BECAME TO THIN, THE PRESSURE IN THE LINE RUPTURED THE BRAKE LINE AT THE THIN/RUSTED LOCATION. ALL BRAKE FLUID LEAKED OUT AND THE BRAKES NO LONGER WORKED. THE VEHICLE WAS IN MOTION WHEN THE BRAKES FAILED ON A CITY STREET. IF THE VEHICLE HAD BEEN ASSEMBLED SO THAT THE BRAKE LINES COULD NOT CONTACT THE GAS TANK, THIS FAILURE WOULD HAVE BEEN PREVENTED.
PURCHASED VEHICLE 11-2018 HAVE TAKEN TO TWO SERVICE SHOPS ENGINE KNOCK. METAL IN FILTER. CYLINDER #1 LOW COMPRESSION DUE TO BAD MACHINING OF THE ENGINE BLOCK. VEHICLE NON DRIVABLE.
DRIVING DOWN THE ROAD WHEN ALL OF THE SUDDEN THE DRIVERS SIDE WINDOW EXPLODED ALL OVER THE INSIDE OF MY TRUCK. IT EXPLODED SO HARD (LIKE A SHOTGUN BLAST). IT THREW GLASS ALL OVER THE INSIDE OF THE TRUCK, ALL OVER MYSELF. ONCE I STOPPED, I NOTICED THAT I HAD BLOOD ON MY SEAT. THE GLASS ACTUALLY WAS STUCK IN MY SKIN ON MY ELBOW. IT TOOK ALMOST 10 MINUTES TO GET IT OUT OF MY HAIR. THERE WERE NO OTHER VEHICLES ON THE ROAD OR GOING BY ME TO THROW ANY DEBRIS AT THE WINDOW. I HAVE PHOTOS IF NEEDED
WHEN HITTING A BUMP OR A BRIDGE AT SPEEDS IN EXCESS OF 50 MPH THE VEHICLE WOULD GO INTO WHAT IS CALLED A "DEATH WOBBLE" OR SUSTAINED STEERING WHEEL OSCILLATION. THIS WAS MORE LIKELY TO OCCUR WHEN THE FRONT DRIVERS SIDE HIT THE BUMP FIRST OR IN A SLIGHT LEFT HAND TURN WHEN HITTING THE BUMP IN THE ROAD. I HAVE TO IMMEDIATELY LET OFF OF THE THROTTLE AND SOFTLY APPLY THE BREAKS TO ABOUT 25 MPH TO GET THE VERY AGGRESSIVE WOBBLING TO QUIT. DURING WHICH TIME, THE VEHICLE IS VERY DIFFICULT TO CONTROL. I HAVE HAD STABILIZER SHOCKS, TRACK BAR ASSEMBLY, BALL JOINTS, TIRES, ALIGNMENTS, ETC COMPLETED AND STILL EXPERIENCE THIS DEATH WOBBLE ALMOST DAILY. IT APPEARS BY READING ABOUT EVERY FORUM AVAILABLE ONLINE, FORD IS AWARE OF THIS PROBLEM FOR YEARS, BUT HAS FAILED TO DO ANYTHING TO CORRECT THE PROBLEM. (SEE TSB 18-2268) FOR VEHICLES 2017-2019, BUT THIS IS CLEARLY A PROBLEM FOR OLDER MODEL VEHICLE ALSO. SOMEONE IS GOING TO DIE FROM THIS PROBLEM. IT SHOULD BE ADDRESSED.
TRUCK CONTINUES TO HAVE THE DEATH WOBBLE AS I DRIVE AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS AND HIT A SMALL PORTHOLE OR BUMP IN THE ROAD. THE WOBBLE BECOMES SO SEVERE THAT I HAVE LITTLE TO NO CONTROL OVER THE TRUCK. THIS HAS BEEN GOING ON AFTER 6MONTHS FROM PURCHASE DATE (NEW) BUT FORD SAYS THEY CAN NOT DUPLICATE. IT HAPPENS ABOUT 1-5X A WEEK AND I'VE NEARLY HIT SEVERAL OTHER VEHICLES ON THE HIGHWAY EACH TIME BY SWIRLING DURING THE WOBBLE. I LOOSE DIRECTIONAL CONTROL. I HAVE HAD A CRASH AS A RESULT OF THIS.

FORD LEBANON (LOCATED AT 1030 SCHAEFFER RD, LEBANON, PA 17042, (717) 949-2000) TO BE DIAGNOSED. THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THE SUSPENSION WAS CHECKED, BUT NO FAILURES WERE FOUND. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 75,000.

IT BEGINS IN THE FRONT, SHAKES THE STEERING WHEEL VIOLENTLY UNTIL I AM ABLE TO SLOW DOWN ENOUGH TO STOP IT. I HAVE REPLACED FRONT STABILIZER (STEERING DAMPER), DRAG LINK, TIE ROD END, ALIGNMENT, TIRE ROTATION, TRACK BAR BUSHING, BALL JOINT, TIE RODS AND ANOTHER ALIGNMENT. IT STILL WILL RANDOMLY START TO SHAKE VIOLENTLY AFTER I HAVE HIT A ROUGH SPOT AND ESPECIALLY IN A CURVE AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS. I CANNOT FIND ANYTHING ELSE TO REPLACE. I HAVE HAD TWO DIFFERENT MECHANICS WORK ON THE VEHICLE AND WE HAVE TOGETHER SEARCHED THE WEB FOR OTHER CURES, BUT THERE ARE NONE TO BE FOUND. IT IS NOT SAFE TO DRIVE MY TRUCK ON THE HIGHWAY...THE SHAKING BECOMES SO VIOLENT THAT I BECOME A TRAFFIC HAZARD AND DO NOT HAVE ENOUGH CONTROL OF THE VEHICLE TO HANDLE IT SAFELY. THE MOST RECENT EVENT WAS TODAY, 3/5/2019 BUT IT HAS BEEN HAPPENING, IN BETWEEN STAYS AT THE MECHANIC, SINCE NOVEMBER.

THE VEHICLE FAILED TO RESTART AND WAS TOWED TO A REPAIR SHOP WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE FUEL PRESSURE PUMP BLEW OUT UNDER THE HOOD. THE MECHANIC STATED THAT THE ENTIRE FUEL SYSTEM NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE AND DID NOT ASSIST. THE DEALER WAS NOT CONTACTED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 119,000.

WHILE DRIVING 55-65 MPH THE STEERING STARTS SHAKING VIOLENTLY, YOU ARE UNABLE TO HOLD THE STEERING WHEEL STRAIGHT. IN ORDER TO STOP THIS YOU HAVE TO SLOW DOWN TO 15-20 MPH AS QUICKLY AS POSSIBLE BEFORE LOSING CONTROL HOPING NO ONE RUNS INTO YOU FOR HAVING TO STOP QUICKLY. THIS IS VERY DANGEROUS NOT KNOWING WHEN IT IS GOING HAPPEN. THIS IS SUCH A PROBLEM WITH FORD TRUCKS THAT STEERING STABILIZER KITS ARE LISTED ON LINE UNDER DEATH WOBBLE. DO YOU MEAN THAT PEOPLE HAVE TO DIE BEFORE FORD IS MADE TO DO SOMETHING ABOUT THIS? THIS HAS HAPPENED MULTIPLE TIMES. THE FORD DEALERSHIP SAID I NEEDED NEW TIRES. THIS DID NOT HELP.
