FORD SHOULD BE HELD ACCOUNTABLE FOR THE 6.4 DIESEL AS MUCH AS THESE TRUCKS COST HARD WORKING AMERICANS, PAY CLOSE TO 30 THOUSAND DOLLARS FOR A PICKUP TRUCK THEN HAVE TO PAY ANOTHER 15 THOUSAND TO FIX THE MOTOR DUE TO IT NOT BEING BUILT CORRECTLY, JUNK RODS, HEAD BOLTS, HEADS, TURBOS, OIL LEVEL BEING RAISED BY 2 TO 3 GALLONS PER OIL CHANGE, DUE TO FUEL BEING PUMPED BACK INTO THE ENGINE, CAUSING SEVERE INTERNAL ENGINE PROBLEMS, IT'S NOT IF IT WILL BLOW BUT WHEN IT WILL, AS PER FORD MASTER MECHANIC. THIS IS A DANGEROUS SITUATION, TO KNOW AT ANY GIVING MINUTE WHILE DRIVING YOU'RE MOTOR COULD BLOW CAUSING LOSS OF CONTROL OF THE VEHICLE.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2008 FORD F350 SUPER DUTY TRUCK PURCHASED NEW. HE STATED AFTER HAVING A REGULAR OIL CHANGE, HE NOTICED A LARGE OIL SPILLAGE COMING FROM UNDER THE VEHICLE. THE DEALER ADVISED REPLACING THE HIGH PRESSURE FUEL PUMP. THE REPAIR CAUSED THE OIL TO LEAK WORSE. WITHIN JUST UNDER A YEAR OF THE INITIAL FAILURE, THE DEALER REPLACED THE HIGH PRESSURE FUEL PUMP A SECOND TIME. SEVERAL MONTHS LATER, THE CONTACT BEGAN TO NOTICE THE OIL LEAK AGAIN. THE HIGH PRESSURE FUEL PUMP WAS REPLACED A THIRD TIME. HE ALSO STATED THE BULBS IN THE EXTERIOR LIGHTING ELEMENTS, INCLUDING HEADLIGHTS, TAIL LIGHTS AND TURN SIGNALS CONTINUED TO BLOW. THE DEALER COULD NOT IDENTIFY THE REASON WHY THEY CONTINUED TO FAIL. WHILE AT A STOP, WHILE ATTEMPTING TO ACCELERATE, THE VEHICLE WOULD NOT SHIFT INTO GEARS PROPERLY. THE VEHICLE WOULD STAY IN HIGH GEAR AND WOULD NOT DOWN SHIFT PROPERLY. THE DEALER WAS UNABLE TO DUPLICATE THE FAILURE. NO FURTHER REPAIRS WERE MADE TO DATE. THERE WERE NO RECALLS ON HIS VEHICLE. THE FAILURE AND CURRENT MILEAGES WERE UNDER 28,000.
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2008 FORD F-350 SUPERDUTY. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE WOULD SURGE INTERMITTENTLY. WHEN HE WOULD DEPRESS THE BRAKE PEDAL IN AN ATTEMPT TO STOP THE VEHICLE, THE RPM'S WOULD REV UP TREMENDOUSLY AND THE VEHICLE WOULD SURGE LIKE A ROCKET. HE WOULD HAVE TO KEEP THE BRAKE PEDAL DEPRESSED WHILE THE VEHICLE CONTINUED TO "CRAWL" AND HE WAS ABLE TO TURN OFF THE IGNITION. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE FAILURE ONLY SEEMED TO OCCUR WHEN COMING TO A STOP. HE NOTIFIED THE DEALER OF THE ISSUE AND HAD THE VEHICLE INSPECTED; HOWEVER, THEY FOUND NO FAILURES AND STATED THAT THERE WERE NO RECALLS AVAILABLE. A COMPLAINT WAS FILED WITH THE MANUFACTURER. THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 25,500 AND FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 24,000.

TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2008 FORD F-350. THE VEHICLE HAS TREADWAYS TEMPRA TRAILCUTTER RADIAL RT TIRES, SIZE 30570R16 (NA). EVER SINCE THE VEHICLE WAS PURCHASED, IT HAS BEEN PULLING TOWARDS THE LEFT. SEVERAL ALIGNMENTS WERE PERFORMED, BUT THEY DID NOT CORRECT THE FAILURE. AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC PERFORMED A TIRE ROTATION, WHICH ONLY MADE THE FAILURE WORSE. WHILE DRIVING LESS THAN 50 MPH, THE CONTACT FELT VIBRATIONS IN THE STEERING WHEEL AND HEARD A LOUD VIBRATING NOISE. HE SLOWED DOWN AND THE FRONT DRIVER'S SIDE TIRE SUDDENLY BLEW OUT. THE DOT NUMBER AND VIN WERE UNKNOWN. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 150,000 AND CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 151,000.
2008 FORD 350 SD ACCELERATED 2 DIFFERENT TIMES AT VERY HIGH SPEED. COULD NOT STOP IT EITHER TIME. HAD TOO PUT IT INTO PARK TO STOP AND SMOKE FILLED THE CAB AND WAS ROLLING OUT. MECHANIC IN . SAID IT WAS THE THIRD ONE TOO COME IN AND THE SECOND HAD BEEN IN ACCIDENT. SAID THEY DON'T MAKE THE SOFTWARE TOO FIX THIS PROBLEM. APPROXIMATELY 5,000 MILES. FORD MOTOR CREDIT TOOK TRUCK AFTER PAYING $38,000 ON IT AND ARE GOING TOO AUCTION IT OFF IN SPOKANE WASH. I AM REALLY CONCERNED FOR THE BUYER. *TR
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2008 FORD F350. WHENEVER THE CONTACT STARTED THE IGNITION THERE WAS A GENERATION OF EXCESSIVE EXHAUST FUMES. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN AUTHORIZED DEALER FOR INSPECTION. THE TECHNICIAN WAS UNABLE TO LOCATE THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN AUTHORIZED DEALER ON THIRTEEN SEPARATE OCCASIONS FOR THE IDENTICAL FAILURES WHICH THERE WERE NO RESOLUTIONS. THE VEHICLE HAS NOT BEEN REPAIRED FOR THE MALFUNCTION. THE CONTACT HAD CONCERNS OF THE SAFETY RISK INVOLVED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 15,000.
PURCHASED A NEW 2008 FORD F-350 AND FOUND OUT FROM A FRIEND THAT THERE ARE TWO RECALLS ON MY TRUCK THAT I WAS NEVER NOTIFIED ABOUT
THE HIGH PRESSURE FUEL PUMP FAILED, CAUSING THE TRUCK TO LOSE POWER WHILE MERGING ONTO THE INTERSTATE. OUR VEHICLE DID NOT DIE COMPLETELY, AS I'VE HEARD MOST DO. IF WE HAD BEEN HAULING OUR RV, IT COULD HAVE BEEN CATASTOPHIC IN THAT SITUATION. FORD HAS HAD THESE PUMPS RECALLED ON OTHER VEHICLES (A VAN?), BUT BECAUSE THE REPAIR IS COSTLY, I BELIEVE THAT FORD MAY NOT WANT TO RECALL THESE VEHICLES. THE WORST PART OF IT IS THAT ANYONE THAT OWNS AN F350 BUYS IT TO HAUL SOMETHING. IN OUR CASE, A 13000 POUND RV. IF WE LOST POWER STEERING AND BRAKES IN THE MOUNTAINS OF COLORADO AND WYOMING, IT WOULD NOT BE GOOD. EVERY MECHANIC WE TALKED TO ABOUT THIS SEEMS TO FEEL THIS IS A COMMON PROBLEM ON THE F350 6.4L POWERSTROKE
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2008 FORD F-350. WHILE DRIVING 60 MPH, THE CONTACT HEARD A LOUD BANGING NOISE COMING FROM THE FRONT END OF THE VEHICLE. HE NOTICED SMOKE COMING FROM THE REAR OF THE VEHICLE. HE PULLED THE VEHICLE OVER AND NOTICED SMOKE COMING FROM THE HOOD OF THE VEHICLE. ALSO, THE CONTACT NOTICED A VAST AMOUNT OF OIL ON THE GROUND WHERE THE VEHICLE WAS PARKED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER AND THEY STATED THAT THE ENGINE NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. PRIOR TO THE WARNING, THE CONTACT COULD SMELL OIL BURNING WHILE DRIVING THE VEHICLE. THE CURRENT AND FAILURE MILEAGES WERE 47,000.
I HAVE A 2008 FORD F350 SUPER DUTY 4X4 CREW CAB DIESEL DULLY. SEVERAL MONTHS AGO WHILE DRIVING THE TRUCK THE REAR DRIVER SIDE BRAKE LOCKED. AFTER INVESTIGATING THE PROBLEM THE REAR BRAKE CALIPER HAD BROKEN. WAS ABLE TO CAREFULLY DRIVE TO FORD DEALERSHIP IN TERRELL TX. THEY ACCUSED ME OF RUNNING OVER SOMETHING. AFTER REPAIRING THE BRAKE CALIPER THEY APOLOGIZED FOR THE ACCUSATION. THE HAD TO REPLACE BRAKE CALIPER TIRE AND RIM. THIS SAME THING OCCURRED LAST WEDNESDAY. EXCEPT THIS WAS THE OPPOSITE SIDE ON THE REAR. THIS TIME THE VEHICLE WAS TRAVELING THROUGH AN INTERSECTION AND ALMOST CAUSED A HORRIBLE ACCIDENT. ONE THE BRAKE LOCKS UP IT PULLS THE VEHICLE TO THAT SIDE CAUSING ME TO LOSE CONTROL OF THE VEHICLE. THIS VEHICLE HAS BEEN IN AND OUT OF THE SHOP FOR NUMEROUS PROBLEMS. HAD THE DIESEL ENGINE REPLACED IN OCT JUST 4 MONTHS AFTER PURCHASING IT. *TR
I LEASED A 2008 F350 6.4 LITER IT WAS SMOKING OUT OF THE TAILPIPE OFTEN SO I CALLED THE DEALER AND THEY SAID IT WAS NORMAL OVER THE NEXT FEW MONTHS IT GOT WORSE THEN I HAD THE OIL CHANGED AT THE DEALER AND THE SMOKE CHECKED THEY SAID IN THE PAPER WORK IT WAS UNDETERMINED 1 MONTH LATER I LOST ALL POWER AND THE TRUCK DIED THE OIL CAP WAS NOT PUT ON AND THERE WAS OIL EVERYWHERE SINCE THEN THE SMOKE HAS GOTTEN WORSE SO I STARTED TO GO TO A SMALL MECHANIC THAT WORKS ON MY OTHER TRUCKS WELL SINCE THIS INCIDENT THE SMOKE IS MORE OFTEN LIKE TWO TIMES A WEEK FOR 10 MIN SON I BROUGHT IT TO THE DEALER TWO WEEKS AGO THEY HAD IT FOR 3 DAYS AND THEN THEY CALLED ME AND SAID I HAD TO PROVE THAT I HAD THE OIL CHANGES DONE TO IT I OWN FOUR TRUCKS AND THEY ALL GET OIL CHANGES SO I BROUGHT THE RECITES AND THEY SAID BECAUSE I PAID CASH FOR THE OIL CHANGES THE RECEIPT FORM THE MECHANIC WHERE FAKE AND IT WAS A MAINTENANCE ISSUE SO I DROVE IT DOWN THE STREET TO ANOTHER PLACE SINCE THEN ITS UN DRIVABLE IT SMOKES THE HOLE TIME ITS RUNNING WHAT DO I DO? *TR
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2008 FORD F-350. ON JUNE 4, 2008, WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 60 MPH, THE VEHICLE SUDDENLY SHUT DOWN WITHOUT WARNING. THE CONTACT TOOK THE VEHICLE TO THE DEALER AND THEY STATED THAT THE EXHAUST FILTER FAILED. THE DEALER REPLACED THE EXHAUST FILTER. ON JUNE 22, 2008, THE CONTACT'S FATHER WAS TRANSPORTING A TRAILER AND THE VEHICLE SUDDENLY SHUT OFF WHILE ATTEMPTING TO PARK. THE TRAILER SLAMMED INTO THE VEHICLE. HIS FATHER LOST CONTROL AND SUSTAINED INJURIES TO HIS NECK AND BACK. THE VEHICLE WAS RETURNED TO THE DEALER, BUT THEY WERE UNABLE TO DIAGNOSE THE CAUSE OF THE FAILURE. THE MANUFACTURER STATED THAT THEY WERE NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR ANY OF THE DAMAGES. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 60,624 AND CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 69,000.
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2008 FORD F-350 SD. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE FRONT END OF THE VEHICLE WOULD SHIMMY AND SHAKE WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 50 MPH. ON ONE OCCASION, THE STEERING WHEEL SHOOK SO SEVERELY THAT HE LOST CONTROL OF THE VEHICLE AND VEERED OFF THE ROAD. THERE WERE NO INJURIES. THE CONTACT TOOK THE VEHICLE TO THE DEALER FOR REPAIRS, BUT THE FAILURE PERSISTED. HE FILED A COMPLAINT WITH THE MANUFACTURER, BUT HAS YET TO RECEIVE ANY FEEDBACK. THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 42,600 AND FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 15,000.
I PURCHASED MY 2008, FORD F350 IN AUGUST 2007 AND HAVE NOT RECEIVED ANY OF THE 5 RECALLS FROM FORD. I'M VERY CONCERNED ABOUT THE SAFETY OF MY FAMILY THAT TRAVEL WITH ME. I WANT TO FILE A COMPLAINT AGAINST FORD FOR NOT NOTIFYING ME ABOUT THE RECALLS, AND ALSO WANT TO KNOW WHY THEY HAVE NOT CONTACTED ME ABOUT ANY OF THE RECALLS. THE TECHNICIAN OBSERVED AN EXCESSIVE OIL LEAK AND STATED THAT THE FAILURE WAS RELATED TO THE FRONT MAIN SEAL. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED. ON NINE SEPARATE OCCASIONS, THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN AUTHORIZED DEALER FOR IDENTICAL FAILURES; HOWEVER, THERE WERE NO RESOLUTIONS. THE VEHICLE IS CURRENTLY BEING REPAIRED. THE CONTACT HAS NOTIFIED THE MANUFACTURER. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 20,000 AND CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 53,000.
REGARDLESS OF SPEED, EXCESSIVE WHITE SMOKE BLOWING OUT OF EXHAUST COMPLETELY OBSTRUCTING OWN REAR SIGHT AS WELL AS BLINDING FOLLOWING VEHICLES. IT HAS HAPPENED 4 TIMES, VEHICLE CURRENTLY AT 36, 000 KM. PERSONAL BELIEF IS THAT THIS HAS LED TO ENGINE NEEDING TO BE REPLACED WHICH FORD WILL NOT WARRANTY. NOTHING HAS BEEN DONE AS FORD REPORTS THEY CANNOT FIND THE PROBLEM. *TR
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2008 FORD F-350. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 55 MPH, PRESSURE WAS APPLIED TO THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL WITHOUT POWER ASSISTANCE. THE CONTACT NOTICED EXCESSIVE SMOKE COMING FROM THE EXHAUST PIPE. IN ADDITION, THE VEHICLE HESITATED AND IDLED ROUGHLY. THERE WERE NO WARNING LIGHTS ILLUMINATED ON THE INSTRUMENT PANEL. THE CONTACT PULLED OVER TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD AN TURNED OFF THE ENGINE. AFTER FIVE MINUTES, THE ENGINE WAS ABLE TO BE RESTARTED. THE CONTACT OBSERVED THAT THE FAILURE OCCURRED MORE FREQUENTLY IN RAINY WEATHER CONDITIONS AND AT ANY GIVEN SPEED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN AUTHORIZED DEALER FOR A DIAGNOSTIC, BUT NO FAILURES WERE FOUND. HOWEVER, THE COMPUTERIZED SYSTEM WAS REPROGRAMMED AND THE MOTOR WAS REPLACED AT 53,000 MILES. ON 12 SEPARATE OCCASIONS, THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN AUTHORIZED DEALER FOR IDENTICAL FAILURES, BUT THERE WERE NO RESOLUTIONS. THE VEHICLE HAS NOT BEEN REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 33,000 AND CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 73,400. UPDATED 10-29-08 *BF UPDATED 10/30/08. *JB
I WAS NOTIFIED BY FORD THAT MY 2008 F-350 6.4 DIESEL PICKUP HAD TWO RECALL NOTICES TO BE PERFORMED. ON 1.29.08 I TOOK THE TRUCK TO CAPISTRANO FORD AND THEY PERFORMED RECALL 08B06 AND RECALL 08B07. SINCE THEN THE AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION HAS NOT PERFORMED THE SAME. I PULL A FIFTH WHEEL TRAILER. THE DRY WEIGHT OF THE TRAILER IS ABOUT 9000LBS. WHEN GOING DOWNHILL THE AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION NO LONGER DOWNSHIFTS TO ASSIST IN BRAKING AND DOWNHILL SPEED CONTROL. THE TRANSMISSION IS EQUIPPED WITH A TOW/ HAUL SETTING ON THE END OF THE SHIFT LEVER. BEFORE THE RECALL THIS FEATURE WORKED GREAT. AS YOU START DOWN A HILL, TAKING YOUR FOOT OFF THE GAS THE TRUCK WILL COAST AND THEN BEGIN TO PICK UP SPEED. WHEN THE TRANSMISSION SENSED THE INCREASE IN SPEED WHILE COASTING, THE TRANSMISSION WOULD AUTOMATICALLY DOWNSHIFT. IT WOULD DO THIS AT ANY SPEED. AFTER THE RECALL, THE TRANSMISSION WILL NOT DOWNSHIFT UNTIL LONG AFTER IT HAS ANY AFFECT ON BRAKING OR SPEED CONTROL. WHILE BRAKING, SOMETIMES HARD IF IT IS A STEEP HILL, THE TRANSMISSION WILL DOWNSHIFT AND THE TRUCK WILL SHUTTER. IT IS A SHORT BURST THAT IS VERY NOTICEABLE AND OBVIOUSLY NOT NORMAL.THE SHUTTER NEVER HAPPENED BEFORE THE RECALL. I HAVE TAKEN IN BACK TO FORD TWICE AND THEY SAY THAT THE TRANSMISSION CONTROL MODULE (TCM) WAS REPROGRAMMED AS PART OF RECALL 08B07 BUT THEY CAN NOT CHANGE IT BACK TO THE ORIGINAL PROGRAM. IN SHORT, FORD WILL NOT DO ANYTHING ABOUT THIS. THE OPERATIONAL SAFETY OF THE VEHICLE, WHILE TOWING LOADS THAT THE TRUCK IS DESIGNED TO TOW, HAS BEEN COMPROMISED. FORD SAYS THEY CAN NOT DO ANYTHING ABOUT IT. IS ANYONE ELSE HAVING THIS PROBLEM? ACCORDING TO FORD THIS COMPLAINT HAS NOT BEEN MADE. FOR TWENTY FIVE THOUSAND MILES THE VEHICLE HAS HAD AN INTERMITTENT ENGINE MISS. THEY HAVE WORKED ON THIS NUMEROUS TIMES TO NO AVAIL. THE VEHICLE FINALLY QUIT ON I-70 JUST BEFORE THE HOLIDAYS. TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2008 FORD F-350 SD. WHILE DRIVING 60 MPH, THE VEHICLE DECELERATED TO APPROXIMATELY 30 MPH. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHEN THE CRUISE CONTROL IS ENGAGED, THE VEHICLE DOWNSHIFTS AND BECOMES STUCK IN FOUR WHEEL DRIVE. THE DEALER STATED THAT THE VEHICLE COULD NOT BE REPAIRED UNTIL THE FOURTH QUARTER OF 2007 AND THEY HAVE TO WAIT ON THE PCM CALIBRATION. CURRENTLY, THE DEALER IS UNSURE OF WHAT CAUSED THE FAILURE. THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 4,683 AND FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 4,400. THE DEALER STATED RELEASED AIR POCKET IN FUEL LINE REGENERATION PROCESS, HARD TO GET OUT OF FOUR WHEEL DRIVE, AND WAITING ON NEW PCM CALIBRATION. UPDATED 09/10/07 *TR
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2008 FORD F-350. THE CONTACT HEARD A HUMMING NOISE COMING FROM THE POWER STEERING. HE DISCOVERED THAT THE RADIATOR FLUID WAS LOW. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER FOR A PRESSURE CHECK OF THE COOLING SYSTEM. THE DEALER FOUND A RADIATOR LEAK AND MADE THE REPLACEMENT. THIS IS THE SECOND TIME THE RADIATOR HAS BEEN REPLACED DUE TO THE SAME FAILURE. THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 40,800 AND FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 40,000.
TL*-THE CONTACT OWNS A 2008 FORD F-350 SUPER DUTY. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE MORE PRESSURE HE APPLIED TO THE BRAKES, THE MORE THE VEHICLE LOST CONTROL AND ACCELERATED TO FULL THROTTLE. THE FAILURE OCCURRED WHILE DRIVING 65 MPH. THE TACHOMETER WAS ABOVE 3,000 RPM. THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 2,000 AND FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 1,450.
TWO ISSUES REALLY: A SLOPPILY INSTALLED VALVE COVER GASKET ON THE RIGHT VALVE COVER CAUSING FLUID LEAKAGE. THE SECOND IS A CONSTANT DRIFT TO THE LEFT. 2008 F-350 LARIAT 4X4 CREWCAB LONG BED POWERSTROKE DIESEL. *JB
JUNE 25, 2007, WE WERE IN MONTANA AND HAD JUST COME DOWN FROM APPROX. 14,000 FT. PASS, CLOSED SUN ROOF ON OUR 2008 FORD F350 CREWCAB DIESEL, ALL 4 OCCUPANTS (3 ADULTS & 1 CHILD) FELL ASLEEP @ 2:00 PM IN THE AFTERNOON. PASSENGER WOKE AS WE WERE GOING OFF THE PAVEMENT, TRIED TO PUT TRUCK BACK ON PAVEMENT BUT FRONT OF TRUCK WOULD NOT GET UNDER CONTROL, HIT MAIL BOXES AND VEERED TO LEFT (STILL UNABLE TO CONTROL) NOT SPEEDING, HIT HEAD ON INTO TREES, ROLLED TO ROOF. AIR BAGS DID NOT DEPLOY ON EITHER SIDE, DRIVER SIDE (FRONT AND BACK) ROOF CRUSHED TO TOP AND INTO FRONT DRIVERS SEAT AND ALMOST TO FRAME OF WINDOW IN THE BACK SEAT. WHY OR WHAT CAUSED US ALL TO FALL ASLEEP AFTER CLOSING SUN ROOF, WHY WERE WE NOT ABLE TO CONTROL FRONT OF TRUCK (TOO HEAVY?), WHY DID AIR BAGS NOT DEPLOY AND WHY DID ROOF CRUSH SO FAR ON A ROLL TO ROOF, WE DID NOT ROLL COMPLETELY OVER. TRUCK WAS TOTALED. NO DEATHS OCCURRED, DRIVER RESULTED IN A BROKEN NECK AND PASSENGERS WITH RIB AND NECK INJURIES. *TR
Items in my bed and liner caught on fire. Engine regeneration for emissions got so hot melted all of the bed liner and caught a new large tv on fire. Ford has a glue on heat shield under bed which fell off. Exhaust gets so hot it caught on fire. They should have put a metal fixed plate or something fixed no a cheap glue on piece of foil. I inspected other trucks all missing!
2008 FORD F-350 SUPER DUTY TRUCK. CONSUMER STATES VEHICLE IS INHERENTLY UNSAFE BECAUSE OF A DESIGN FLAW *TGW THE CONSUMER BELIEVED THE FRONT SUSPENSION AND STEERING MECHANISMS WERE TOO LIGHT FOR THE WEIGHT OF THE TRUCK AND FOR THE TYPE OF LOAD IT WAS SUPPOSED TO HANDLE. THE CONSUMER STATED THE FRONT END WAS RATED TO CARRY 5200LBS. HOWEVER, WHEN THE TRUCK WAS EMPTY, THERE WAS ALREADY 4800LBS ON THE FRONT END. THE CONSUMER STATED THE TRUCK IS SUPPOSED TO BE A SUPER DUTY TRUCK, BUT APPARENTLY IT CAN'T CARRY ANYTHING EXCEPT A PASSENGER OR TWO BEFORE THE FRONT END IS OVERLOADED. THE STEERING BOX BROKE SUDDENLY FOR THE TIME AT 26,050 MILES. WHICH CAUSED THE CONSUMER TO CRASH INTO A PARKED VEHICLE AT ABOUT 20 MPH. THE DEALER REPLACED THE STEERING BOX, BUT THE NEW ONE FAILED AT 29, 581 MILES. THE CURRENT STEERING BOX IS FEELING LOOSE AND THE TRUCK WANDERS. THE BALL JOINTS AND TIE ROD ENDS WERE REPLACED AT 38,587 MILES. THE CONSUMER ALSO STATED WHEN THE VEHICLE WAS DRIVEN OVER A BUMP, IF FELT AS THOUGH THE POWER STEERING MALFUNCTIONED FOR A FEW SECONDS. *JB
2008 FORD 350 DIESEL PICK UP. CONSUMER EXPRESSES DISCONTENT WITH FORD MOTOR COMPANY *TGW THE CONSUMER STATED THE ENGINE LOCKED UP ON HIS VEHICLE WITH ONLY 19,300 MILES. THE CONSUMER FOUND A TSB REGARDING SYMPTOMS OF WATER IN THE FUEL TANK VENT AREA. THE CONSUMER STATED IT SEEMED THAT FORD WAS AWARE OF THE POSSIBILITY OF WATER ENTERING THE FUEL TANK VENT AREA DUE TO SNOW AND ICE BUILD-UP.
