2008 FORD F350 6.4 DIESEL. JOB 1 TRUCK PRODUCTION LINE. 33,000 MILES, LEAKING RADIATOR. DEALER REPLACED AND DETERMINED DEFECTIVE. $1709.43 COST. TRUCK PURCHASED 6/07. TRUCK IS 6 MONTHS OUT OF WARRANTY. MOST OWNERS OF THIS MODEL REPORTING SAME PROBLEM. *TR
I'M THE OWNER OF A 2008 FORD PICKUP TRUCK MODEL F-350. THE TRUCK WAS TAKING SERVO TIMES TO A DEALER TO HAVE THE PROBLEM FIXED. WE ARE HAVING PROBLEMS WITH THE STEERING WHEEL THAT IT LOCKS BY ITSELF YOU WANT TO TURN LEFT AND THE CAR GOES RIGHT OR STRAIGHT AND YOU LOOSE THE CONTROL I ALMOST GOT KILLED .THE DEALER SAD THAT THEY CANT SEEN TO FIX THE PROBLEM ONE DEALER SAD THAT HE REPLACED THE GEAR BOX BUT NEVER DID. I'M AFRAID TO DRIVE THIS CAR I HAVE THREE KIDS AND NOBODY WANTS TO HELP ME I EVEN CALLED THE INSURANCE COMPANY AND LET THE NOW THAT IF I HAVE A ACCIDENT IT WILL BE TO THE STEERING PROBLEM WHICH I REPORTED TO THE DEALER BUT THEY CANT FIXED. MY F350 CREW CAB HAS FUMES THAT ENTER THE CAB OF THE TRUCK WHEN THE EXHAUST SYSTEM IS CLEANING. THIS HAS BEEN HAPPENING FOR AS LONG AS I HAVE OWNED THIS TRUCK, YOU CAN'T LEAVE THE WINDOWS UP AND BREATH BECAUSE IT IS A HEALTH HAZARD. SUNBELT FORD IN CORDELE GEORGIA IS AWARE OF THIS PROBLEM AS THEY HAVE LOOKED AT THE TRUCK. I WAS ADVISED THAT MY TRUCK IS THE ONLY ONE THAT DOES THIS. I KNOW THERE IS A PROBLEM AS I HAVE BEEN A SATISFIED FORD TRUCK OWNER FOR YEARS AS WELL AS USING FORD TRUCKS IN MY CONSTRUCTION BUSINESS AND HAVE NEVER ENCOUNTERED THIS TYPE OF PROBLEM BEFORE. PLEASE ADVISE ME IN WRITING AS I FEEL THAT FORD MOTOR COMPANY HAS A PROBLEM. *TR
08 F350 WITH 70,000MILES ON IT. WE TOW A TRAILER DAILY WITH THIS VEHICLE. APPROXIMATELY 10 TIMES PER DAY IT STATES "CLEANING THE EXHAUST FILTER". ON SEPT. 29, 2010, IT SAID "CLEANING EXHAUST FILTER AND STOP SAFELY NOW" AND SHUT OFF IMMEDIATELY. WHILE I WAS IN THE MIDDLE OF ROAD. LUCKILY A FRIEND WAS DRIVING BY AND TOWED ME OUT OF THE LANE OF TRAFFIC. PRIOR TO THIS OUR VEHICLE HAD FOUR RADIATORS PUT INTO VEHICLE BECAUSE PLASTIC PARTS KEPT BREAKING. THE EXHAUST SENSOR WAS REPLACED PRIOR TO THIS INCIDENT. THE CODE FOR THIS WAS THE EXHAUST SENSOR. IF I WAS ON FOUR LANE HIGHWAY WHEN THE VEHICLE SHUT DOWN I'D BE DEAD. I DIDN'T HAVE ANY TIME TO PULL OFF ROAD. SOMETHING MUST BE DONE ABOUT THIS. FORD IS NOT STANDING BEHIND THIS. TRUCK IS STILL AT DEALER. I'VE BEEN WITHOUT VEHICLE SINCE SEPT. 29, 2010. THEY REFUSE TO PUT TRUCK BACK TOGETHER. THEY STATED THAT THIS WOULD BE WARRANTY BUT FORD WON'T WARRANTY AND I WON'T PAY WHAT THEY ARE ASKING FOR SOMETHING THAT IS A FREQUENT OCCURRENCE. *TR
I HAVE A 2008 FORD F-350 4X4 THAT IS EXPERIENCING A BAD WOBBLE WHEN I HIT A BUMP IN THE ROAD OR TURNING IN A CURVE WITH UNEVEN PAVEMENT. THE PROBLEM OCCURS AROUND 45 OR 50 MPH THIS IS A VERY SCARY SITUATION. I DID SOME RESEARCH ON THE TOPIC AND I SEE ALOT OF FORD OWNERS WITH THE SAME COMPLAINT, BUT FORD WONT DO ANYTHING ABOUT SOLVING THE PROBLEM. I DON'T KNOW WHO TO TURN TO. THESE TRUCKS ARE EXPENSIVE AND I EXPECT TO GET WHAT I PAID FOR NOT THIS. HELP ME OUT!!!!! PLEASE! *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2008 FORD F-350 HD. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE HAVING AN OIL CHANGE THE MECHANIC NOTICED THE REAR BRAKES ON THE PASSENGER SIDE WERE METAL ON METAL. THE DEALER STATED THAT THERE HAVE BEEN PROBLEMS WITH THE CALIBERS GOING BAD AND CAUSING THE BRAKE PADS AND ROUTERS TO FAIL AS WELL. THE DEALER REPLACED THE CALIBERS UNDER WARRANTY, BUT WOULD NOT REPLACE OTHER PARTS OF THE BRAKE SYSTEM. THE CONTACT FEELS THERE IS A DEFECT WITH THE CALIBERS USED ON THE VEHICLE. THE VIN WAS NOT ACCEPTED AT THE TIME OF THE COMPLAINT. THE FAILURE MILEAGE AND CURRENT MILEAGES WAS 37000.
THIS VEHICLE HAS HAD A RADIATOR FAILURE. WE HAD THE DEALER DIAGNOSE AND REPAIR . EVERY TRUCK IN OUR FLEET OF 7 F-350'S HAS HAD RADIATOR FAILURES AND FORD REFUSES TO WARRANT THE REPAIRS. ON THIS VEHICLE THE RADIATOR WAS REPLACED AT 100,345 MILES ON 9-2-10. *TR
2008 F350 SUPER DUTY ----VIOLENT STEERING WHEEL WOBBLE THIS HAS HAPPENED TO MET 10 TIMES. WHEN I'M ON THE HIGHWAY GOING ANY SPEED BETWEEN 50 TO70 MPH AND I HIT A SMALL BUMP OR IMPERFECTION IN THE ROAD AND THE TRUCK GOES INTO A VIOLENT WOBBLE AND IS UNCONTROLLABLE THE WHOLE TRUCK SHAKES. I HAVE TO SLAM ON THE BREAKS AND DROP THE SPEED FAST TO AROUND 35MPH TO GAIN CONTROL OF THE TRUCK . IT IS A VERY SCARY THING TO DEAL WITH . I GOT RID OF MY 2005 F350 BECAUSE OF THE SAME PROBLEM. *TR
I HAVE A 2008 350 SUPER DUTY FORD TRUCK. I HAVE ABOUT 35,000 MILES ON THE TRUCK AND IN THOSE MILES I HAVE HAD ABOUT A DOZEN INCIDENTS WHERE THE TRUCKS AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION DID NOT START FROM A DEAD STOP IN 1ST. GEAR. IN STEAD IT MUST HAVE STARTED IN 3RD. OR 4TH GEAR RESULTING IN WHAT WOULD BE A VERY UNDERPOWERED START. I WOULD PRESS THE ACCELERATOR TO THE FLOOR WHICH WOULD RESULT IN THE TRANSMISSION DOWN SHIFTING AND THE WHEELS SPINNING EVEN WHEN PULLING A 5TH WHEEL TRAILER. TWICE, WHILE EMPTY, I NEARLY HAD AN ACCIDENT WHEN I NEEDED A RAPID RESPONSE TO ENTER TRAFFIC. THE LAST TIME THIS HAPPENED WAS 8/25/2010. WHEN I HAVE TAKEN THIS COMPLAINT TO A FORD DEALERSHIP, THEY SAY THEY CAN NOT FIND ANY CODES, HOWEVER THE LAST TIME THE DEALER DID A COMPUTER UPDATE ON THE TRUCK AND THAT WAS ABOUT 10 MONTHS AGO AND I THOUGHT THE PROBLEM WAS SOLVED. I MET ANOTHER PERSON WITH THE SAME POWER TRAIN AS MINE WHO HAD THE SAME PROBLEM, FINALLY HIS TRANSMISSION WENT OUT AND HAD TO BE REPLACED. I WOULD LIKE TO HAVE YOU INVESTIGATE THIS ISSUE, IT MAY SAVE A LIFE. *TR
I HAVE 2008 FORD F350 XLT 4X4 SRW DIESEL JUST OVER A YEAR AND WHAT HAVE HAPPENED NOW IS THAT ON 08/02/1010 WHILE I WAS DRIVING THERE WERE NOISES FROM THE ENGINE ALSO SOOO MUCH OF WHITE SMOKE COMING OUT FROM EXHAUST PIPE AND THEN THE TRUCK JUST FAILED ON THE HIGHWAY AND WAS TOWED TO THE CLOSEST FORD DEALER LOCATION AFTER A WEEK SITTING THERE SERVICE PEOPLE FROM DEALERSHIP SAID THAT WAS OIL AND FUEL SPILLAGE ALL OVER THE FILTER AND THE ENGINE ETC.. BUT THEY DIDN'T DO ANYTHING TO FIND OUT WHAT WAS CAUSING IT AND I ENDED UP WITH THE BILL FOR IT AN HOUR LATER WHEN I TOOK IT THE TRUCK IT HAVE HAPPENED AGAIN THIS TIME I HAVE TAKEN THE TRUCK TO ANOTHER FORD DEALERSHIP AFTER FEW DAYS THEY SAID THAT WAS SOMETHING MINOR AND THEY GAVE ME THE TRUCK WHEN I JUST LEFT THEIR SHOP IN THE EVENING SAME PROBLEM SO MUCH SMOKE THAT YOU COULDN'T SEE ANYTHING THE SMOKE WAS CHOKING ME SO NOW AGAIN THE TRUCK IS IN THE DEALERSHIP SERVICE BUT THEY NOW POINTING FUEL INJECTORS AND AGAIN THEY WANT ME TO PAY FOR OIL AND FUEL SPILLAGE SO THAT THEY AGAIN GOING TO CHANGE OIL AND FILTER BUT THEY NOT WORKING ON FIXING THE REAL PROBLEM! AT THIS MOMENT I'M AFRAID TO DRIVE THIS TRUCK BECAUSE OF THE FUEL SPILLAGE I KNOW IT CAN RESULT IN A FIRE AND IS NOT SAFE TO DRIVE THIS TRUCK WITH SO MUCH SMOKE COMING OUT FROM EXHAUST FILTER
2008 FORD F-350 SD DIESEL 31000 MILES BRAKE CALIPER FAILURE THE VEHICLE HAD LAG BECAUSE THE BRAKES WERE STUCK ON ONCE VEHICLE WAS STOPPED THE SMELL OF THE BRAKE WAS VERY NOTICEABLE ALSO VERY HOT COULD NOT TOUCH THE WHEEL HUB ONCE THE CALIPER WAS REMOVED IT WAS A PIECE THAT HAD BROKEN INSIDE CAUSING THE BRAKES TO STICK WHILE I WAS BUYING THE CALIPER THERE WAS ANOTHER TRUCK SAME PROBLEM ONLY 18,000 MILES ALSO COMMENTS FROM PARTS THAT THIS HAPPENS ALL THE TIME . *TR

LOSES POWER WHILE DRIVING CAN NOT GET ANY SPEED ALMOST GOT HIT ON INTERSTATE SINCE IT DROPPED SPEED FROM 70 TO 40 FUEL PUMP REPLACED STILL AT DEALERS HAS BEEN THERE FOR 3 WEEKS HAD IT IN THE SHOP A FEW MONTHS AGO FOR COOLING SYSTEM THIS IS SUPPOSED TO BE A HEAVY DUTY TRUCK THERE IS A NUMBER OF PROBLEMS WITH THESE TRUCKS . WITH 73 BULLETINS ON THEM I THINK IT IS A SAFETY ISSUE !!!!!!!!! *TR
HI, MY NAME IS [XXX] , MY TRUCK IS 2008 FORD F350 SUPER DUTY DIESEL 6.4L LARIAT DUALLY.WHEN I BOUGHT MY TRUCK IT HAD 57,000 MILE AND I USE IT TO TWO BIG TRAILERS TO TRANSPORT FURNITURE'S OUT OF THE STATE TEXAS. LAST WEEK WHILE I WAS PULLING MY LOADED TRAILER ON THE HIGHWAY IN IRVING TEXAS GOING TO NEW ORLEANS LA DRIVING 60 MPH ON THE HIGHWAY, SOMETHING TOLD ME TO STOP AND GET SOME WATER FROM THE MY COOLER AT THE BACK SEAT BECAUSE I WILL NOT STOP FOR AT LEAST 200 MILE. AS I SLOWED DOWN AND PULLED OFF THE HIGHWAY, WHEN I REACH 15 MILES PER HOUR THE TRUCK WOULD NOT STOP SO I PUSH HARD ON THE BRAKE AND MY FOOT WENT ALL THE WAY DOWN TO THE FLOOR AND MY HEART WENT DOWN WITH IT, I HAD TO USE THE EMERGENCY BRAKE, LOW GEAR 1, AND GO ON THE GRASS TO STOP MY TRUCK. A MOBILE MECHANIC CAME AND SAID I NEVER SEEN THIS BEFORE, YOUR BREAK BOOSTER EARS ARE ONE BROKE OFF AND THE OTHER ONE IS VERY LOOSE.( WHERE THE MASTER CYLINDER CONNECT TO THE BRAKE BOOSTER. HE TIGHTENED ON BOLT AND TOLD ME TO FOLLOW HIM TO FORD DEALER 3 MILES DOWN THE ROAD, USING THE BRAKE VERY LIGHTLY, DRIVING SLOW AND RELY MOSTLY ON THE TRAILER BRAKES. WE WENT TO WEST WAY FORD AT FIRST DID NOT WANT TO DIAGNOSE MY TRUCK, AND TOLD ME I HAVE TO WAIT 3 DAYS BECAUSE THEY ARE BEHIND AND THEY COULD NOT HELP ME NOW. I TOLD HIM THAT I AM LUCKY TO BE A LIFE AND TALKING TO YOU NOW, HE REPLIED OTHER CUSTOMERS HAVE TO WAIT AND YOU DO TOO! SO I CALLED FORD MOTOR COMPANY AND I SPOKE WITH KELLY, SHE TOOK DOWN THE REPORT AND TOLD ME AFTER THE TECHNICIAN FINISH DIAGNOSING YOU TRUCK WE WILL SEE WHAT WE CAN DO. THEY ASK WEST WAY FORD (VINCE GRAZIOSO TO LOOK AND DIAGNOSE THE PROBLEM AND TOLD ME I NEED TO PAY TO REPLACE MY BRAKE BOOSTER,. THEY SAID YOUR TRUCK IS OUT OF WARRANTY AND IT COST YOU $1289.00 TO REPLACE THE BRAKE BOOSTER AND TO CHANGE THE AIR FILTER, AND THE DIESEL FILTER LIKE IF THAT'S. TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2008 FORD F-350. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 50 MPH, THE SERVICE WARNING INDICATING THAT THE VEHICLE WAS ENTERING REGENERATION MODE ILLUMINATED ON THE DASHBOARD. THE VEHICLE THEN LOST SOME POWER AND SMOKE BEGAN TO EMIT FROM UNDER THE HOOD. THE VEHICLE WAS PULLED OVER AND SHUT OFF. THE CONTACT HAD THE VEHICLE TOWED TO AN AUTHORIZED DEALER WHERE SHE WAS INFORMED THAT THE ENTIRE ENGINE HAD MELTED. THE VEHICLE WAS THEN TOWED TO ANOTHER AUTHORIZED DEALER WHERE IT WAS REPAIRED. THE FAILURE DID NOT RECUR. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 50,000 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 50,500.
THIS VEHICLE HAS HAD TWO RADIATOR FAILURES. WE HAD THE DEALER DIAGNOSE AND REPAIR BOTH TIMES. EVERY TRUCK IN OUR FLEET OF 7 F-350'S HAS HAD AT LEAST TWO RADIATOR FAILURES AND FORD REFUSES TO WARRANT THE REPAIRS. ON THIS VEHICLE THE FIRST RADIATOR WAS REPLACED AT 27,229 MILES ON 5-27-08; THE SECOND RADIATOR WAS REPLACED AT 138,005 MILES ON 4-30-10. *TR
I BOUGHT MY 2008 F350 TRUCK FROM CARBON FORD ON APRIL 25, 2010. AT THE TIME, THE TRUCK HAD AFTER MARKET WINDOW TINT ON IT. RATHER THAN REMOVE THE TINT, THEY DIRECTED ME TO ANOTHER INSPECTION STATION SO THAT THE TRUCK WOULD PASS BY ROLLING DOWN THE WINDOWS (IT FAILED ONCE). 1 YEAR LATER, I HAVE THE SAME ISSUE AGAIN. THIS TIME HOWEVER, I HAVE LEARNED THAT THE TRUCK THEY SOLD ME WAS ACTUALLY INVOLVED IN A ROLLOVER (NOT PROPERLY DISCLOSED). WHEN I BOUGHT THE VEHICLE, I KNEW THAT IT HAD BEEN IN AN ACCIDENT. I TOLD THEM I NEEDED TO KNOW WHAT HAPPENED BEFORE PURCHASING IT. THEY SAID IT JUST HIT A SNOW BANK AND NO BIG DEAL. THEY ACTUALLY CALLED SOMEONE TO CONFIRM THIS. THEY ARE NOT WILLING TO FIX THE VEHICLE AND ARE OFFERING ME ONLY A VERY SMALL DOLLAR AMOUNT. MEANWHILE, THE WINDOWS ARE STILL TINTED AND IT WILL NOT PASS INSPECTION. [XXX] (I BELIEVE A MANAGER THERE), INSTRUCTED ME TO GO TO A GARAGE THAT CARBONE WORKED CLOSELY WITH IN THE PAST. HE TOLD ME TO TELL THEM THAT CARBONE SENT ME AND THAT THEY WOULD PASS THE VEHICLE EVEN WITH THE VERY DARK TINTED WINDOWS THAT CAME ON THE TRUCK. THEY ARE SELLING VEHICLES THAT DO NOT PASS INSPECTION, AND THEN FINDING WAYS AROUND IT SO THAT THEY DON'T HAVE TO FIX THEM. I WAS TOLD THAT IF I TRY TO GET THE INSPECTION, I WILL GET A RED REJECTION STICKER AND WILL NOT BE ABLE TO DRIVE THE TRUCK ANYMORE. TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2008 FORD F350. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE WOULD VIBRATE VIOLENTLY WHEN DRIVING BETWEEN 40-55 MPH OR WHEN TURNING ON ROUGH ROAD SURFACES. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER NUMEROUS TIMES FOR THE FAILURE. THE DEALER REPLACED THE TRACK LINK AND THE STEERING GEARBOX BUT THE FAILURE WAS NOT CORRECTED AND THE VEHICLE CONTINUED TO VIBRATE EXCESSIVELY. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE BUT THE VEHICLE WAS NOT FURTHER REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 100 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 20,000.
AFTER PARKING MY FORD F-350 CREW CAB 4X4 WITH A V-10 ENGINE, I EXITED THE VEHICLE AND CIRCLED AROUND TO THE PASSENGER SIDE WHERE I NOTICED FROM THE CORNER OF MY EYE FLAMES IN THE R FRONT WHEEL WELL. BEHIND THE TIRE. I IMMEDIATELY WENT INSIDE THE BUILDING AND SUMMONED HELP AND A FIRE EXTINGUISHER (ABC) . MYSELF AND SECURITY PERSONNEL DID NOT OPEN THE HOOD. WE DIRECTED THE FIRE EXT. INTO THE WHEEL WELL AND THERE WAS A SORT OF BACKLASH AND WITH SECONDS A PAINT BUBBLING HOT SPOT APPEARED ON THE HOOD. WE IMMEDIATELY CONTACTED THE FIRE DEPARTMENT WHO RESPONDED. WITHIN MINUTES THE ENGINE COMPARTMENT WAS COMPLETELY ENGULFED IN FLAMES AND THERE WAS FLAMING UNDER THE ENGINE AS WELL. WE CLEARED THE AREA OF ONLOOKERS AS FIREMAN FOUGHT THE BLAZE. THERE WERE NO INJURIES TO MYSELF, THE SECURITY GUARD WHO RESPONDED, FIREMEN OR ONLOOKERS. *TR
I HAD A CONTINENTAL CONTITRAC LT 245/75R17 121/118S TIRE WHICH DEVELOPED 5 CRACKS IN SIDE OF TREAD. WHILE DRIVING F350 TRUCK, ONE CRACK TOTALLY SEPARATED CAUSING INSTANT DEFLATION OF FRONT DRIVER SIDE TIRE. TIRE HAD APPROXIMATELY 21,000 MILES ON IT AND WAS ORIGINAL EQUIPMENT WHEN I PURCHASE TRUCK NEW IN FEB 2008. *TR
EXPERIENCED VIOLENT SHUDDER / WOBBLE AFTER HITTING BUMP AT 65 MPH WHILE TOWING 7,000 LBS. CAMPER. EXPERIENCED SAME WOBBLE AT 40 MPH AFTER HITTING POT HOLE 7 DAYS LATER. AFTER REVIEWING ONLINE FOOTAGE, I APPEAR TO HAVE EXPERIENCED THE EVENT COMMONLY REFERRED TO AS 'DEATH WOBBLE'. PROBLEM GOES AWAY AFTER COMING TO A COMPLETE STOP. *TR
2008 F-350 HAS WHAT THEY CALL THE "DEATH WOBBLE" AND HAS A CONSTANT SHAKE AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS. FORD BLAMED IT ON THE TIRES. I REPLACED TIRES WITH ONE OF THE BEST YOU CAN BUY. CONTINUED TO DO THE SAME THING. FORD BLAMED IT ON THOSE TIRES. BEEN IN FOR SERVICE 5 TIMES IN 1 YEAR. DEALERSHIP TOLD ME NOT TO COME BACK BECAUSE THEY CAN'T FIX IT. FORD TELLS ME TO GO BACK TO THE DEALERSHIP. SOMEDAY I'M GOING TO KILL SOMEONE OR MYSELF IN THIS TRUCK SINCE I HAVE NO CONTROL WHEN THE "DEATH WOBBLE" STARTS UNTIL I CAN SLOW DOWN TO ABOUT 20 MPH ON AN INTERSTATE HIGHWAY. UPDATED IVOQ 05/26/10

EVERY TRUCK IN OUR FLEET OF 7 F-350'S HAS HAD AT LEAST TWO RADIATOR FAILURES AND FORD REFUSES TO WARRANT THE REPAIRS. ON THIS VEHICLE THE FIRST RADIATOR WAS REPLACE AT 110,154 MILES ON 3-10-10; THE SECOND RADIATOR WAS REPLACED AT 141,617 MILES ON 12-22-10. *TR

I PULLED THE TANK AND PULLED THE FUEL SENDING UNIT OUT, UPON CLEANING OUT THE TANK FOUND A PLUNGER ROLLING AROUND. THIS PLUNGER GOES IN THE FUEL SENDING UNIT, CLOSING A VALVE THAT SUCKS FUEL IF THE MAIN SUCTION GETS CLOGGED. IT IS ABOUT 2 INCHES HIGHER THAN THE MAIN SUCTION. BECAUSE THE PLUNGER HAS FALLEN OUT, THIS IS WHERE IT IS SUCKING FUEL FROM, WHICH CAUSES IT TO SUCK AIR WHEN THERE IS IN FACT STILL FUEL IN THE TANK. I CALLED FORD SERVICE AND WAS TOLD THEY REPLACE THESE UNITS ALL OF THE TIME, IT IS A MANUFACTURERS DEFECT BUT NOT COVERED IF YOUR VEHICLE IS OUT OF THE 36K WARRANTY, WHEN THIS MOST COMMONLY HAPPENS. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO BEACH FORD LOCATED AT (2717 VIRGINIA BEACH BLVD, VIRGINIA BEACH, VA 23452) HOWEVER, THE MECHANIC WAS UNABLE TO DUPLICATE THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHO INFORMED THE CONTACT THE FAILURE WAS KNOWN AS THE DEATH WOBBLE. AN UNKNOWN REPAIR WAS PERFORMED HOWEVER, THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN BACK TO BEACH FORD TO BE DIAGNOSED. THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THE TURBO CHARGER NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 20,000.

OUR BUSINESS OWNS 4 FORD F-350 SUPER DUTY TRUCKS (2-2006 AND 2-2008). ALL OF THEM HAVE A VERY SERIOUS DEFECT THAT CAUSES WHAT OUR EMPLOYEES REFER TO AS THE "DEATH WOBBLE". AT ABOUT 55 MILES PER HOUR, THE FRONT END OF THE TRUCK EXPERIENCES A VIOLENT SHIMMY THAT HAS ALMOST CAUSED A NUMBER OF ACCIDENT. WE TOW LARGE TRAILERS (20'), LOADED WITH LARGE SPOOLS OF COAXIAL CABLE. THESE REELS AND THE TRAILER HAVE A COMBINED WAIT IN EXCESS OF 3000-4000 LBS., AND THE TRUCKS WEIGH APPROXIMATELY 6,000 LBS. WHEN YOU LOSE CONTROL OF THIS MUCH WEIGHT AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS, IT IS ONLY A MATTER OF TIME BEFORE SOMEONE IS KILLED. ALL FOUR TRUCKS HAVE EXPERIENCED THIS PROBLEM. FORD CLAIMS THAT IF YOU SLOW DOWN, IT WILL GO AWAY, BUT OFTEN THAT CREATES ANOTHER SAFETY HAZARD IN AND OF ITSELF, AND OFTEN YOU CANNOT SLOW DOWN FAST ENOUGH WITH A 4,000LB IN TOW. FORD NEEDS TO ISSUE A RECALL IMMEDIATELY TO CORRECT THIS PROBLEM, INSTEAD OF FORCING CONSUMERS TO BEAR THE COST OF THEIR INEPT MANUFACTURING AND DESIGN. *TR
