I PURCHASED A FORD FIESTA THAT HAS A FACTORY DEFECTED TRANSMISSION, FORD REFUSES TO RECALL ALL VEHICLES WITH THIS FAULTY DESIGNED TRANSMISSION BUT ONLY TO EXTEND A WARRANTY UNTIL 100K . THIS IS TO REPLACE PARTS AND RESET COMPUTER WHICH HAS NOT WORKED AND RIGHTLY SO AS THE FAULTY DESIGN OF THE TRANSMISSION IS THE PROBLEM AND THE WHOLE TRANSMISSION NEEDS TO BE REPLACED. THE TRANSMISSION SHUDDERS AND HESITATES THEN VERY SLOWLY ACCELERATES WHEN PULLING OUT INTO TRAFFIC. THIS IS A SAFETY ISSUE AS YOU ARE LEFT IN THE MIDDLE OF THE ROAD WITH THE TRANSMISSION SHUDDERING,HESITATING AND THEN EVENTUAL SLOWLY MOVING FORWARD WITH TRAFFIC HEADING TOWARDS YOU. YOU CAN NOT PULL OUT INTO TRAFFIC SAFELY ON ANY ROADS OR HIGHWAYS. ONCE IN THE LANE STILL THE TRANSMISSION DOES NOT ACCELERATE WHILE THIS SHUDDERING AND HESITATION IS GOING ON AND THEN EVENTUALLY, THE VEHICLE SLOWLY ACCELERATES BUT WILL JUMP FORWARD AS IT IS TRYING TO ACCELERATE. I HAVE HAD CLOSE CALLS WITH ACCIDENTS PEOPLE SWERVING AROUND ME TO OTHER LANES TO AVOID HITTING ME. FORD HAS PRODUCED A PRODUCT WITH KNOWN SAFETY ISSUES AND REFUSES TO RECALL THEM AND DO THE RIGHT THING BY THEIR CUSTOMERS AND THE CUSTOMERS SAFETY.
YES WHEN I TURN ON MY CAR IT MAKES A LITTLE NOISE ON THE ENGINE. AND ALSO WHEN I DRIVING THE CAR IT MAKES IT LOUDER AND THE TRANSMISSION SLIPPED ON THE FIRST GEAR IT DOESN'T RUN PROPERLY AT ALL... CAUSE I HAVE OTHER CAR AND IT RUNS REAL GOOD NO PROBLEMS AT ALL.. WELL THANKS I HOPE THEY WILL HELP ME
MANUAL TRANSMISSION : GOES IN AND OUT OF GEAR WHILE DRIVING ON ITS OWN. CLUTCH PEDDLE BECOMES LOOSE AND UNABLE TO PLACE CAR INTO GEAR. AFTER MANY ATTEMPTS IF FINALLY GOES INTO GEAR AND RETURNS TO NORMAL USE. NORMAL USAGE LASTS FOR A FEW DAYS THEN THE PROBLEM RETURNS. ENGINE LITE TURNS ON AND OFF AT ALL TIMES. HAVE TAKEN IT IN TO BE CHECKED OUT AND AM INFORMED "THERE IS NOTHING WRONG WITH IT." *TR
THE VEHICLE SHUDDERED A LOT, FELT UNSAFE
MY MOTHER BORROWED MY CAR AND WENT TO PICK UP PET FOOD ABOUT 15 MINUTES AWAY FROM OUR HOME. SHE CAME OUT OF PET STORE AND OPENED REAR PASSENGER SIDE DOOR,LOADED THE ITEMS THEN WENT TO CLOSE DOOR. MY MOTHER SAID THE DOOR JUST BANGED BACK OPEN. SHE TRIED SEVERAL ATTEMPTS TO CLOSE THE DOOR. SHE CALLED ME IN A PANIC,STATING THE MY CAR DOOR WOULDN'T CLOSE. I TOLD HER TO GO INTO THE DOLLAR TREE AND GET SOME ROPE OR BUNGEE CORD. SHE CALLED ME BACK,AND WAS STILL IN DISTRESS THAT SHE COULDN'T DRIVE THE CAR HOME. I ASKED HER WHY,SHE SAID THAT THE INTERIOR LIGHTS STAYED ON,AND SHE WOULDN'T BE ABLE TO SEE. IT WAS 8:30 AT NIGHT ON JANUARY 11TH,2017. I HAVE HAD SEVERAL PEOPLE LOOK AT THE DOOR,AND SAID THAT IT LOOKS LIKE THE SPRING CAME OUT. I'VE BEEN DRIVING AROUND WITH THE DOOR RATCHET STRAPPED SINCE THE INCIDENT HAPPENED. I'M NOT IN A POSITION TO FIX THE DOOR,AS I AM UNEMPLOYED. I HAVE HAD THIS VEHICLE FOR 3YEARS NOW,AND I'VE HAD NOTHING BUT PROBLEMS WITH IT. FAN BELT,TRANSMISSION,TIRES AND NOW DOOR. THE CUAR WAS STATIONARY AND HAS HAD NO ACCIDENTS
AIRBAG DOES NOT WORK. LEFT REAR DOOR LATCH BROKE FOR NO REASON. BRAKES ARE NOT GOOD. AIR CONDITIONER IS FAILING.
WHEN I PURCHASED THE CAR IT HAS A REALLY BAD HESITATION WHENEVER IT SWITCHED GEARS. I TOOK IT BACK THE VERY NEXT DAY AND IT WAS SUPPOSEDLY FIXED. HOWEVER WHEN I GOT THE CAR BACK I WAS TOLD THAT THE SHUTTER WOULD NEVER GO AWAY BECAUSE THAT'S HOW THE CAR WAS SUPPOSED TO FUNCTION. LATELY THIS IS THE THIRD TIME I HAVE HAD TO TAKE THE CAR BACK SINCE FEB 2016. THIS LAST TIME I WAS LEAVING FROM MY DRIVEWAY ONTO THE MAIN ROAD. WHEN I SWITCHED GEARS FROM REVERSE TO DRIVE AND PRESS THE GAS THE CAR WOULD NOT ACCELERATE. THERE WERE CARS BEHIND ME WHO HAD TO SLAM ON BRAKES WHEN THEY REALIZE I WAS NOT MOVING ANYMORE. I COULD'VE BEEN HIT AND INJURED REALLY BADLY. WHILE EVENTUALLY THE VEHICLE DID PICK UP IT HAS HAPPENED SEVERAL TIMES. THE LAG IN THE CAR WHEN YOU HIT THE GAS, THE HORRIBLE JERK, THE SHUTTER, AND THE VIOLENT SHAKING COULD PUT MY CHILDREN AND I LIVES' AT STAKE.
MY FIESTA WILL NOT SHIFT PAST SECOND GEAR. I HAVE TO LIGHTLY PRESS THE PEDAL FOR IT TO MOVE AT ALL, IF IT IS PRESSED TOO HARD IT WON'T SHIFT OUT OF FIRST. I AM AT 70,900 MILES. I AM CURRENTLY WAITING ON THE TOW TRUCK, HOPING THE ISSUE IS COVERED BY THE WARRANTY EXTENSION.
TRANSMISSION , KEEPS ON SHAKING A LOT WHEN IN DRIVE AND TAKING OFF , AT TIMES IT STOPS AND DOES NOT GO FORWARD ,FOR 2 OR 3 SECONDS ON THE ROAD, WHEN THE SEEMS TO SHIFT TO ANOTHER GEAR , IT SHAKES AND IT SEEMS IT DOES NOT MOVE FORWARD IN THE MIDDLE OF A INTERSECTION,I HAVE ALREADY HAVE TAKEN TO FORD DEALER SEVERAL TIMES FOR REPAIRS AND NOW I NEED TO TAKE IT IN AGAIN AFTER THANKSGIVING, I HAVE ALREADY SPOKE TO SOMEONE AT THE DEALER TO SEE IF THEY CAN REPLACE THE TRANSMISSION, THEY SAID NO , GAS MILEAGE IS BAD FOR A SMALL CAR, GETTING TIRED OF IT, IF I TRADE IT IN FOR ANOTHER VEHICLE , I WILL NOT GET A GOOD DEAL BECAUSE THE TRANSMISSION IS BAD, IT IS A SAFETY HAZARD
METAL FATIGUE IN LUG NUTS AS MY WIFE AND I WERE GETTING READ TO PULL ON TO THE DALLAS NORTH TOLLWAY (SPEED LIMIT 70 MPH) ON 11/23/16, ANOTHER MOTORIST DESPERATELY FLAGGED US DOWN AND YELLED YOUR TIRE IS FALLING OFF. THE TIRES WERE ROTATED THE FRIDAY BEFORE (11/18/16) AT STANLEY POINT FORD. UPON STOPPING, THREE OF THE FOUR LUG NUTS WERE LOOSE. I HAD THE CAR TOWED TO STANLEY POINT FORD AND THE SERVICE MANAGER REPORTED BACK TO ME THAT THOSE THREE LUG NUTS WERE STRETCHED AND WORN. HE ALSO FOUND TWO OTHERS ON THE CAR IN THE SAME SHAPE. THEY REPLACED ALL 16 LUG NUTS ON THE CAR. (SEE ATTACHED)
MY WIFE AND I HAVE CONSISTENTLY HAD ISSUES DEALING WITH THE TRANSMISSION OF OUR 2012 FORD FIESTA SE. THE TRANSMISSION FAILS TO PROPERLY ACCELERATE ON A REGULAR BASIS. SPECIFICALLY SWITCHING BETWEEN 1 AND 2 GEAR WHICH IS VERY IMPORTANT WHEN IT COMES TO ACCELERATING. ALSO, DECELERATING HAS BEEN AN ISSUE WITH THE GEARS NOT WANTING TO PROPERLY SHIFT DOWN. THIS IS AFFECTING MY ABILITY TO STOP THE CAR. THE CAR WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALERSHIP ON 11-9-16 WHERE THE TRANSMISSION CONTROL MODULE HAD A RECALL AND WAS SUPPOSED TO BE REPROGRAMMED/REPLACED. THE CAR IS STILL CONTINUOUSLY FAILING TO SHIFT PROPERLY AND IS ALMOST AS IF THE CAR IS GOING TO STALL. LASTLY, THERE HAS BEEN MULTIPLE OCCASIONS WHERE THE CAR WOULD NOT CRANK/TURN OVER. I HAVE READ MANY INSTANCES OF OTHER FORD FIESTAS USERS CARS NOT STARTING PROPERLY EITHER.
THE CAR JERKS AND HESITATES ON ACCELERATION THE CLUTCH ON THE TRANSMISSION HAS BEEN REPLACED 6 TIMES AND HAS YET TO FIX THE PROBLEM SINCE I BOUGHT IT USED IN 2013 FORD WILL NOT HELP US TRADE IN THE CAR EVEN THOUGH I WAS LIED TO MANY TIMES ABOUT HOW IT IS A CAR THAT IS ONLY SUPPOSED TO BE DRIVEN BY ONE PERSON AND SO ON AND SO ON BUT IF THAT IS TRUE HOW COULD THE SALE THE CAR USED PLUS NOT TELL THE CONSUMER THIS BEFORE SOMEONE BUYS IT THEY ALSO SAID IT IS PASSED THE LEMON LAW TIME SO I GUESS WE ARE STUCK WITH THIS DANGEROUS CAR WITH MY KIDS JUST LIKE IN OTHER BAD COMPANY THEY WAIT TILL SOMEONE GETS IN A WRECK AND DIES BEFORE THEY HELP ANYONE TRULY ASHAME.
TIE RODS AND SWAY BARS WORE OUT AT 32K MILES AND 5 YEARS ,1 MONTH, AS DID ORIGINAL TIRES.. EXPECTED LONGER WEAR THAN THIS ON SUCH A NEW CAR, AS I HAVE GONE > 100K ON MY PREVIOUS SMALL FORD SUSPENSIONS UNTOUCHED. DEALER WANTED >$1100 TO REPAIR., SO I WENT TO NAPA AFTER MARKET PARTS WITH LIFETIME WARRANTEE TO FIX.
I BOUGHT MY 2012 FORD FIESTA IN 9/2015 WITH APPROX.16,000 MILES ON IT. SINCE I PURCHASED THE CAR, IT HAS BEEN IN THE SHOP 5 TIMES (ONE OF WHICH FOR 26 DAYS). #1 WAS DUE TO THE DOOR LATCH. MY 10YR OLD WAS SITTING IN THE BACKSEAT WHEN THE RIGHT SIDE DOOR SWUNG OPEN WHILE I WAS MAKING A TURN. #2 WAS DUE TO THE TRANSMISSION. THE CAR WAS HAVING TROUBLE SHIFTING GEARS & BEGAN SHAKING, THEN THE LIGHTS INSIDE & OUT STARTED BLINKING AND THE CAR COMPLETELY SHUT OFF WHILE I WAS DRIVING DOWN THE HIGHWAY. #3 WAS FOR THE TRANSMISSION AGAIN, WHICH LOCKED UP WHILE I WAS DRIVING DOWN I75 IN NAPLES THE EVENING OF 12/28/2015. THE CAR COMPLETELY LOCKED UP AND HAD TO BE TOWED IN THE MIDDLE OF THE NIGHT. #4 THE TRANSMISSION AGAIN. WHILE DRIVING NORTH ON I75 THE CAR STARTED MAKING A STRANGE WHINNY NOISE THEN SHORTLY AFTER LOCKED UP WHILE I WAS STILL DRIVING. THAT TIME I BARELY MADE IT OFF TO THE SIDE OF THE HIGHWAY. CAR WAS TOWED AGAIN TO DEALERSHIP. #5 TRANSMISSION...AGAIN. WHILE DRIVING AT 11:30PM AT NIGHT 8/2016 CAR LIGHTS STARTED BLINKING ON & OFF AND THEN THE CAR COMPLETELY SHUT OFF WHILE I WAS DRIVING. MANAGED TO BE ABLE TO TURN IT ON AGAIN AND DRIVE IT TO THE DEALERSHIP...WHERE IT STAYED FOR 26 STRAIGHT DAYS. TOMORROW WILL BE #6...DUE TO TRANSMISSION PROBLEMS...AGAIN. CAR IS MAKING WHINNY NOISES AGAIN, SHAKING AND HAVING TROUBLE SHIFTING GEARS, TEMPERATURE LIGHT IS COMING ON AND A/C IS NOT COOLING ANYMORE. TOMORROW I'LL BE GETTING AN ATTORNEY AS WELL. *TR

I LIVE AND TRAVEL IN AND OUT OF SAN FRANCISCO QUIET A BIT. IT SPUTTERS AND SHAKES AND THEN WILL JUST DIE OUT. DID THIS DURING RUSH HOUR IN SILICON VALLEY BYE 101 I WAS ALMOST HIT 3 TIMES AND THE POLICEMAN AS WELL TRYING TO GET ME AND CAR TO SAFETY FORD DOESN'T ANSWER BACK
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2012 FORD FIESTA. WHILE DRIVING AT LOW SPEEDS OR ACCELERATING FROM A STOP, THE VEHICLE VIOLENTLY SHUTTERED AND STALLED. THE SERVICE ENGINE AND CHANGE OIL WARNING INDICATORS ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A DEALER AND AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC ON SEPARATE OCCASIONS WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE TRANSMISSION FAILED AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 63,000.
THE VEHICLE SHUTTERS, HESITATES UPON ACCELERATION AND ALSO LURCHES YOU INTO TRAFFIC. YOU CAN HARDLY CONTROL THE VEHICLE. TERRIFYING TO DRIVE. THIS IS A RECURING ISSUE THAT TYPICALLY HAPPENS AT INTERSECTIONS.
THE TRANSMISSION SLIPS, LAGS, DOES NOT SHIFT AT TIMES, WILL STAY IN A GEAR TOO LOW OR TOO HIGH. ONGOING SINCE I PURCHASED IT. HAVE TAKEN TO DEALER NUMEROUS TIMES FOR REPAIR.
CAR STALLS WHEN DRIVING, USUALLY WHEN FOOT IS TAKEN OFF GAS PEDAL, IE WHEN COMING TO A STOP. THOUGHT IT WAS BECAUSE OF A FAULT WITH THE AC COMPRESSOR (WHICH HAS BEEN A PROBLEM SINCE THE CAR WAS NEW). COMPRESSOR WAS REPLACED IN JULY AND CAR WAS STILL STALLING SO RETURNED TO DEALER ON 9/16/16 AND WAS TOLD IT WAS THE ELECTRONIC THROTTLE BODY FAILING. WAS TOLD IT WAS AN 'UNCOMMON' ISSUE. DID RESEARCH AND FOUND THE 'CUSTOMER SATISFACTION" (RECALL) OF OVER A MILLION FORD VEHICLES FOR THIS ISSUE, BUT OF COURSE NOT ANY FIESTA'S. HAVE JUST FOUND MULTIPLE COMPLAINTS FOR THE SAME VEHICLE AS MINE WITH THE SAME ISSUE. I WILL BE CONTACTING FORD DIRECTLY BUT BASED ON MY EXPERIENCE TRYING TO GET MY DEDUCTIBLE WAVED FOR THE AC REPAIR I DON'T EXPECT MUCH. THEY ARE THE WORST COMPANY FOR CUSTOMER SERVICE.
I HAVE A 2012 FORD FIESTA AND TODAY I WAS DRIVING WITH MY 3 YEAR OLD GRANDDAUGHTER IN HER CAR SEAT IN PASSENGER SIDE REAR SEAT,I WENT AROUND A CURVE AND HER DOOR FLEW OPEN,I AM AWARE OF THE FORD RECALL AND IT IS GOING TO THE DEALER TOMORROW,THE ISSUE TO ME IS THE LATCH IS PLASTIC AND THAT'S CAUSING THE PAW SPRING TO WEAR OUT AND BREAK.THIS COULD HAVE BEEN BAD,THE DEALER SAID THEY WOULD REPLACE THAT DOOR LATCH,WHAT ABOUT THE OTHER 3 DOORS THEY HAVE TO BE FAULTY TOO.I DO NOT TRUST THIS CAR ANYMORE SINCE I SEEN THAT THE LATCHES ARE PLASTIC.I THINK YOU NEED TO TAKE A CLOSER LOOK AT THIS PROBLEM BEFORE SOMEBODY IS KILLED WITH DOORS FLYING OPEN.
VEHICLE WAS STUCK IN PARK AND COULD NOT BE SHIFTED INTO OTHER GEARS. THIS OCCURRED AFTER DRIVING THE VEHICLE AND SHIFTING INTO PARK. ONCE IN PARK IT COULD NOT BE SHIFTED TO ANY OTHER GEAR. THE CAR COULD BE STARTED AND TURNED OFF WHILE IN PARK. ALL OTHER ASPECTS OF THE VEHICLE SEEMED TO BE OKAY. COULD BE AN ISSUE WITH THE INTERLOCK MECHANISM, BUT NEEDED A NEW SHIFTER ASSEMBLY.
I WAS DRIVING ON HWY 301 AND WATER COOLANT LIGHT CAME ON. I STOPPED A FEW FEET AT FIRST STATION. WATER WAS POURING OUT MY RADIATOR. I GOT A TOW AND TOW TRUCK DRIVER SAID MINE WAS THIRD CAR IN A WEEK THIS HAPPENED TO IN STATESBORO GA AREA. PLASTIC FAN BROKE WENT THRU RADIATOR AND BLOWED THE HEAD GASKET. REPAIR MAN SAID PROBABLY IN 3 SECONDS FLAT. TWO WEEKS BEFORE HAD OIL CHANGES AND DAY OF EMERGENCY CHECKED ALL WATER AND OIL BEFORE LEAVING HOME. I AM A WIDOW AND THIS IS GONE COST ME AROUND 2,000 AND I AM IN BANKRUPTCY. I JUST WONDER IF THIS IS A RECALL OR SHOULD BED. MY WARRANTY IS OUT BUT I ONLY HAVE 66,000 MILES ON MY CAR AND THOUGHT IT WAS LAST LOTS MORE YEARS. IS THERE ANYTHING YOU CAN DO TO HELP ME. I REALLY LOVE MY CAR BUT ITS ALREADY HAD A TRANSMISSION RECALL AND LOCK RECALL WHICH I WAS FIXING TO GET FIXED. TRANSMISSION HAS BEEN FIXED AND I GET 32 MILES TO GALLON IN GAS WHICH IS TERRIFIC. PLEASE JUST CHECK IS THIS NEEDS TO BE A RECALL AND LET MY MECHANIC KNOW AT SOUTHSIDE AUTOMOTIVE IN JESUP GA AND HIS NUMBER IS [XXX]. CAR SLOWS DOWN THEN SHUTS OFF WITHOUT WARNING. CAR IS ABLE TO RESTART AFTER. OTHER TIMES VEHICLE ACCELARATES EMERGENCY BRAKE HAD TO BE APPLIED TO STOP VEHICLE THEN SHUTS OFF. CAR RESTARTS AFTER. TOOK IT TO FORD AND THEY REPAIRED THE MASS AIR FLOW SENSOR TO RESOLVE THE PROBLEM. VEHICLE CONTINUES TO SHUT OFF AFTER REPAIR.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2012 FORD FIESTA. WHILE COMING TO A STOP, THE VEHICLE BEGAN TO REV WHILE IN NEUTRAL AT HIGH SPEEDS. THE VEHICLE WOULD DECELERATE INTERMITTENTLY AS IF IT WOULD STALL, BUT THEN SUDDENLY BEGAN TO ACCELERATE. THE FAILURE RECURRED WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 30 MPH. THE CONTACT DEPRESSED THE BRAKE PEDAL, BUT THE VEHICLE FAILED TO STOP UNTIL THE ANTI-LOCK BRAKES WERE ACTIVATED. THE DEALER STATED THAT THE ELECTRONIC THROTTLE BODY FAILED AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE PART FOR THE REPAIR WAS ON BACK ORDER. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE AND STATED THAT THE REPAIR WAS NO LONGER UNDER WARRANTY. THE VIN WAS UNKNOWN. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 62,143.
AS I STARTED MY DAY DRIVING TO WORK MY CARS ENGINE LIGHT STARTED BLINKING AND IT DROVE WITH RESISTANCE. I IMMEDIATELY PULLED OVER AND SHUT IT OFF. I WAITED A FEW MINUTES AND DROVE IT BACK HOME WHICH WAS LESS THAN A MILE AWAY. I THEN HAD IT TOWED THE NEXT DAY . THE DEALERSHIP CONTACTED ME ASKING WHAT THE PROBLEM WAS AND I TOLD THEM THE ENGINE LIGHT WAS BLINKING AND THAT HE SHOULD BE TELLING ME WHAT THE PROBLEM IS HE WENT ON TO TELL ME THAT MY CAR WAS DEAD NO POWER AT ALL SO THERE WAS NO WAY TO GET A DIAGNOSTIC READING. WHICH I LEARNED IS UNTRUE. AFTER CHANGING MY SPARK PLUGS AND DRIVE BELT MY FAN STOPS WORKING AND PROBLEM STILL NOT SOLVED. A CODE IS NOW COMING UP THAT THEY HAVE NO CLUE WHAT IT MEANS. I ARRIVED TO PICK UP MY VEHICLE AND FINALLY DRIVE IT HOME BUT THAT WAS NOT THE CASE THE CAR WAS NOT DRIVING RIGHT AT ALL I TURNED AROUND AND TURNED THE KEYS OVER AND SPOKE TO THE DIRECTOR OF SERVICE WHO WAS GOING TO GET WITH HIS MECHANICS AND GET TO THE BOTTOM OF THE ISSUE. NO CALL BACK THE NEXT DAY AS HE MENTIONED NOR FOR THE REMAINDER OF YET ANOTHER WEEK OF NO CAR. I AM NOW GOING ON MY THIRD WEEK OF NO CAR AND MY KIDS START SCHOOL SOON MY HUSBANDS DRIVING ME TO WORK AND FROM WORK AND FORD HAS YET TO DO ANYTHING NOT EVEN COMMUNICATE WITH ME ON WHAT'S GOING ON.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2012 FORD FIESTA. WHILE DRIVING 29 MPH, THE TRANSMISSION MALFUNCTION WARNING LIGHT ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE STALLED AND ABRUPTLY STOPPED. IN ADDITION, THE TRANSMISSION EXPERIENCED A POWER TRAIN FAILURE. THE CONTACT WAS UNABLE TO SHIFT THE TRANSMISSION OUT OF GEAR. THE CONTACT SUSTAINED WHIPLASH, A MILD HEART ATTACK, BLUNT ABDOMINAL TRAUMA, AND ABDOMINAL CONTUSION FROM BEING RESTRAINED BY THE SEAT BELT. THE CONTACT REQUIRED MEDICAL ATTENTION. THE VEHICLE WAS FLAT TOWED TO THE CONTACT'S RESIDENCE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE TCM WAS UPDATED PREVIOUSLY UNDER A SERVICE BULLETIN; HOWEVER, THE UPDATE FAILED TO PREVENT THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 66,000.
TRANSMISSION FAILURES ON FORD FIESTA. I HAVE HAD THE THE CURRENT RECALL DONE BACK IN NOVEMBER OF 2015. AT THAT TIME I ALSO HAD A CLUTCH INSTALLED ON THE VEHICLE. SINCE THEN THE TRANSMISSION HAS LOCKED UP AND FAILED AGAIN. THE VEHICLE WILL NOT GO INTO REVERSE ONLY FORWARD. I BELIEVE THE TRANSMISSION ISSUES ON THE FORD FIESTA ARE FAR WORSE THAN WHAT FORD IS REPORTING. I WOULD LIKE TO HAVE AN INVESTIGATION STARTED TO FIND OUT WHAT THE UNDERLYING ISSUES WITH THIS AND TO SEE IF FORD IS HIDING ANYTHING. I BELIEVE THAT THIS IS THE INHERENT PROBLEM WITH THE TRANSMISSION THAT FORD HAS PUT IN THEIR FIESTAS AND FOCUSES. THE FORD FIESTA HAS BECOME A DANGEROUS VEHICLE WHEN THE TRANSMISSION LOCKS UP WILL NOT ACCELERATE WILL NOT SHIFT INTO GEAR.
I RECEIVED A LETTER ABOUT A RECALL ON FORD FIESTA DOOR LATCHES IN JUNE 2015, STATING THAT MORE INFORMATION WOULD BE SEND WHEN SUFFICIENT PARTS FOR REPLACEMENT WERE SENT TO ALL FORD DEALERSHIPS AND THAT IF I EXPERIENCED A PROBLEM THAT I SHOULD REPORT TO A DEALERSHIP IMMEDIATELY. SOON AFTER RECEIVING THAT LETTER MY BACK PASSENGER DOOR WOULD NOT CLOSE. I WENT TO CAPITAL FORD IN RALEIGH NC TO HAVE THE LATCH REPAIRED. I WAS TOLD THAT BECAUSE THE RECALL WAS NOT "OFFICIAL" AND THE DEALERSHIP HAD NOT RECEIVED A SHIPMENT OF REPLACEMENT DOOR LATCHED FROM FORD THAT ONLY THE BROKEN DOOR LATCH WOULD BE REPLACED AT NO CHARGE, BUT THAT WHEN THE PARTS WERE SENT AND THE RECALL WAS "OFFICIAL" THAT THE REMAINING DOOR LATCHES WOULD BE REPLACED AT NO CHARGE TO ME. JUST THIS WEEK, MY FRONT PASSENGER DOOR NOW WILL NOT CLOSE. I CALLED CAPITAL FORD AGAIN AND THEY ARE TELLING ME THAT I AM NO LONGER ELIGIBLE UNDER THAT RECALL BECAUSE THE REPAIR HAS BEEN MADE ALREADY. THEY SENT ME AN INVOICE FOR MY REPAIR WHICH CLEARLY INDICATES THAT ONLY ONE DOOR WAS REPLACED. MY LETTER FROM FORD MOTOR COMPANY CLEARLY STATES THAT ALL FOUR DOOR LATCHES WOULD BE REPLACED WHEN THE PARTS WERE MADE AVAILABLE TO THE DEALERSHIPS AND THAT EXISTING PROBLEMS WOULD BE REPAIRED. I EXPLAIN TO CAPITAL FORD THAT I SHOULD STILL BE ELIGIBLE BECAUSE ONLY ONE LATCH WAS REPLACED, BUT NO ONE WILL RETURN MY CALLS. FORD MOTOR COMPANY KEEPS REFERRING ME BACK TO THE DEALERSHIP TO DETERMINE WHY ALL FOUR LATCHES WERE NOT REPAIRED AND IF I AM ELIGIBLE FOR THE OTHER THREE LATCHES TO BE REPAIRED (ONE OF WHICH IS CURRENTLY NOT FUNCTIONING) AND I FINALLY DECIDED TO PAY FOR THE DAMAGED LATCH TO BE REPAIRED ELSEWHERE. STILL NO UPDATE FROM CAPITAL FORD AND NO HELP FROM FORD MOTOR COMPANY. I HAVE DULY CONTACTED THE DEALER, AND IN EVERY CASE WAS TOLD THEY WOULD CALL ME. I BELIEVE THEY HAVE NO INTENTION OF HONORING THE RECALL.

CAR IS BEGINNING TO HAVE PROBLEMS IN TRAFFIC AND THE STOPPING OCCURS MORE DURING STOP AND GO TYPE OF DRIVING. WHEN THIS HAPPENS THE ENGINE GOES OUT; LIGHT COMES ON THEN THE IGNITION SWITCH GOES OUT AND SOMETIMES I CAN RESTART IT AND SOMETIMES THE SIGNAL WILL TURN OFF EVERYTHING COMPLETELY, LEAVING ME STRANDED IN THE MIDDLE OF TRAFFIC OR IN THE PARKING LOT OF A STORE;IF I'M LUCKY. RECENTLY IT STOPPED ON MY MOTHER AND HAD TO BE TOWED HOME. THIS FAILURE HAS HAPPENED IN THE MIDDLE OF INTERSECTIONS, ON THE FREEWAY OR JUST DRIVING THROUGH TOWN. THE CAR WILL SHUTTER SOMETIMES BEFORE IT SHUTS OFF, OR JUST STARTS TO STALL. WHEN THIS HAPPENS I AM UNABLE TO MOVE TO THE SHOULDER OR PULL OFF THE ROAD TO RESTART THE CAR. THIS IS AN ONGOING PROBLEM WITH THIS VEHICLE. WHEN ACCELERATING FROM A STOP THE CAR HESITATES/STALLS/SHUDDERS THEN LURCHES FORWARD. THERE ARE ALSO SIMILAR INTERMITTENT PROBLEMS IN ALL TYPES OF SITUATIONS. BASICALLY IF THE CAR IS MOVING THERE ARE PROBLEMS WITH THE TRANSMISSION. IT BECOMES WORSE THE LONGER YOU DRIVE THE CAR. FORD IS AWARE OF THIS PROBLEM AND HAS EXTENDED THE WARRANTY ON THE TRANSMISSION DUE TO COMPLAINTS. THE DEALERSHIP WHERE I PURCHASED THE CAR WOULD NOT EVEN WORK ON IT SO I HAD TO GO TO ANOTHER DEALERSHIP. I HAVE BEEN IN THE SECOND DEALERSHIP MULTIPLE TIMES OVER ALMOST A YEAR NOW BUT THE CAR IS STILL NOT FIXED. THEY KEEP TELLING ME THE PARTS ARE ON ORDER BUT EVEN IF THEY DO GET THEM IN THERE IS NO GUARANTEE THEY WILL FIX THE PROBLEM. ACCORDING TO THEIR "TRANSMISSION GUY" THESE AUTOMATICS, NOW IN MILLIONS OF FORD MODELS OVER MANY YEARS, NEED TO BE REMOVED AND REPLACED WITH SOMETHING ELSE AS THEY WILL NEVER WORK PROPERLY. I AGREE AND THINK FORD IS JUST IGNORING THE PROBLEM HOPING PEOPLE WILL GIVE UP. THE CAR IS UNSAFE TO DRIVE PERIOD. FORD IS NOW NOT OFFERING A WARRANTY OF ANY KIND FOR THE REPLACEMENT PARTS. I HAVE LODGED A COMPLAINT HERE IN THE PAST FOR THE SAME NEAR DEATH OR INJURY EXPERIENCES. THE DEALER REPLACED (FOR THE SECOND TIME IN 12-MONTHS) THE CLUTCH ASSEMBLY, THE SEALS, THE CLUTCH RELEASE LEVER AND THE CLUTCH SLAVE BUT STATED THAT WHILE THE THROTTLE BODY WAS BAD AND IN NEED OF REPLACEMENT, THE PROBLEM WAS NOT CAUSED BY THE CLUTCH NOR DID IT CONTRIBUTE TO THE CLUTCH PROBLEM AND WOULD NOT BE COVERED BY THE EXTENDED FORD WARRANTEE OF THE CLUTCH. I HAD TAKEN THE CAR IN WITH THE SAME ISSUE SEVERAL MONTHS BACK BUT, BECAUSE THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT WAS NOT ON AT THE TIME, THEY DISMISSED THE ISSUE AS NORMAL FUNCTIONING OF THE CLUTCH. THE SAME ISSUE WAS THE CAUSE FOR THE INITIAL CLUTCH ASSEMBLY REPLACEMENT A YEAR AGO. I PLAN TO PURSUE THE ISSUE OF THE THROTTLE BODY WITH FORD IN LIGHT OF THE FACT THEY ARE ACKNOWLEDGING AND TAKING OWNERSHIP OF ETB ISSUES WITH 1.6M OTHER FORD MODELS IN THE SAME PRODUCTION PERIOD.

RADIO SPEAKERS STARTED CUTTING OUT AND MAKING POPPING/CRACKLING NOISES FOR WEEKS, EVEN IF THE CAR WAS TURNED OFF OR IF THE VOLUME WAS TURNED DOWN, THEN THE RADIO DIED COMPLETELY. I HAVE SEEN MANY OTHER COMPLAINTS FROM OTHER PEOPLE WITH THE SAME PROBLEM. DEALERSHIP SAID I WOULD HAVE TO REPLACE THE ENTIRE RADIO FOR $400, BUT APPARENTLY THIS IS A COMMON OCCURRENCE IN THESE CARS.
I PURCHASED A 2012 FORD FIESTA LAST WEEKEND AND NOTICED THE DAY AFTER THAT AS I DROVE, THE FRONT OF THE CAR WOULD RATTLE. THEN I NOTICED WHEN I WOULD STOP AND GO THE CAR WOULD TAKE AWHILE TO ACCELERATE. I REGISTERED THE CAR ON SYNC (ASSOCIATED BY FORD) AND IT INDICATED 2 ITEMS WERE FAULTY. MADE AN APT WITH FORD WHO WAS AWARE OF THE ISSUE. ON THE WAY TO DROP OFF THE CAR AFTER I MADE A STOP, I ACCELERATED IT WENT BUT THEN SUDDENLY CAME TO AN ALMOST COMPLETE STOP ON ITS OWN LUCKILY THEN CAUGHT AND ACCELERATED, IF SOMEONE HAD BEEN BEHIND ME I WOULD HAVE BEEN HIT. FORD CHARGED ME $105 TO RUN DIAGNOSTICS THEN SAID THAT IT HAD TO HIT 250 WITH THE SHUDDERING AND MY CAR WAS ONLY AT 180, AFTER PUSHING THE SERVICE GUY WE GOT HIM TO ADMIT HE KNEW IT HAD A PROBLEM BUT THEY COULDN'T DO ANYTHING ABOUT IT. THIS GOT MY ATTENTION AND WENT ONLINE AND FOUND OUT MANY PEOPLE HAVE THE SAME ISSUE AND SOME HAVE BEEN IN ACCIDENTS OR NEAR ACCIDENTS. DO PEOPLE NEED TO DIE FOR FORD TO TAKE ACTION, WOULD THEIR CEO GIVE THIS CAR TO HIS CHILDREN OR GRANDCHILDREN. THIS OCCURRED AS THEY WERE CROSSING AN INTERSECTION AND WITH THE LOSS OF POWER, CAME CLOSE TO BEING IN AN ACCIDENT. THERE IS NEVER A WARNING WHEN THE CAR DECIDES TO BEHAVE IN THIS FASHION. I HAVE NOW READ TOO MUCH ABOUT THIS PROBLEM AND FRANKLY SHOCKED THAT THIS PROBLEM AS GONE ON THIS LONG. I DO NOT WANT MY DAUGHTER HURT - I DO NOT WANT ANYONE HURT. PREVIOUS COMPLAINT #10807331 FOLLOW UP. CAR STILL HAS TRANSMISSIONS SHUTTER THAT WE AT TOLD BY FORD MECHANIC IS UNREPAIRABLE. ON 4/22/16 I WAS DRIVING ON A RESIDENTIAL ROAD AND THE CAR FAILED TO DOWN SHIFT WHEN I TRIED TO STOP. IT PUSHED ME FORWARD WHEN I HAD THE BRAKE APPLIED TO STOP AT A STREETLIGHT. THANK GOODNESS I WASN'T DRIVING PROBABLY MORE THAN 20MPH BECAUSE I ALMOST REAR ENDED THE VEHICLE AHEAD OF ME BEFORE THE TRANSMISSIONS ALLOWED ME TO STOP. PLS MAKE FORD FIX THESE ISSUES, I HAVE HAD THIS VEHICLE FOR OVER 4 YRS, THEY WON'T FIX IT, BUY IT BACK OR EVEN TAKE IT IN TRADE FOR ANOTHER VEHICLE. TRANSMISSION/CLUTCH HAS MAJOR DESIGN FLAWS. WE HAVE HAD TO HAVE THIS REPRGRAMMED TWICE AND THE CLUTCH HAS BEEN REPLACED TWICE AS WELL. IS GOING BACK IN TO THE DEALERSHIP FOR THE SAME ISSUE, FOR WHAT WILL NOW BE THE 4TH TIME, TO POTENTIALLY HAVE ANOTHER CLUTCH REPLACED. THE VECHICLE "SPUTTERS" AND JERKS. THIS IS A KNOWN ISSUE WITH THE TRANSMISSION. THIS HAS BEEN ONGOING SINCE PURCHASE OF THE CAR, BUT MOST RECENTLY 4/21/2016.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNED A 2012 FORD FIESTA. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 30 MPH, THE CONTACT SLOWED THE VEHICLE DOWN TO MAKE A U TURN AND LOST CONTROL. AS A RESULT, THE CONTACT STRUCK A PARKED VEHICLE. THE FRONTAL AIR BAGS DID NOT DEPLOY. A POLICE REPORT WAS NOT FILED. THE VEHICLE WAS DESTROYED AND TOWED TO A GARAGE. A WEEK AFTER THE CRASH, THE CONTACT WENT TO THE HOSPITAL AND WAS DIAGNOSED WITH A CONTUSION, MILD CONCUSSION, A RIB COMPRESS WALL, AND SWELLING. THE VIN WAS INVALID. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 72,863. UPDATED 06/10/16*LJ THE CONSUMER STATED BOTH VEHICLES WERE TOTALED AND TOWED TO A GARAGE. UPDATED 06/28/16.*JB
I OWN A FORD FIESTA 2012, I HAVE TAKEN GOOD CARE OF IT. DRIVEN IT WELL CHECKED IT OFTEN AND NEVER CRASHED IT. I BOUGHT IT IN MARCH 2014, GOT A LETTER LATER STATING THE TRANSMISSION ISSUE AND WARRANTY EXTENSION TILL 100K. NOW THAT MY CAR IS HAVING PROBLEMS I TOOK IT IN, IT SHUTTERS AND DOESN'T ACCELERATE WELL AND MAKES A REALLY LOUD NOISE WHEN DRIVING. I HAVE ALMOST CRASHED SEVERAL TIMES DUE TO MALFUNCTION WHEN GOING FROM STOP TO GO OR TRYING TO ACCELERATE ON THE FREEWAY. I DO NOT FEEL SAFE IN THE CAR WHAT SO EVER AND AM SCARED TO DRIVE IT AGAIN UNTIL THE ISSUE IS COMPLETELY GONE. THIS CAR IS NOT SAFE AT ALL. AT TIMES I HAVE HAD A HARD TIME GOING FROM A STOP SIGN. I WOULD STOP AND THEN WHEN I AM ABLE TO GO MY CAR JERKS BACK AND REFUSES TO ACCELERATE. I DO NOT ABUSE MY CAR, I DRIVE SPEED LIMIT AND ONLY ON PAVED HIGHWAYS AND STREETS. I HAVE READ MANY CASES CONCERNING THIS ISSUE IN THIS CAR AND SO I KNOW THE TRANSMISSION IS AT FAULT AND IT IS A MANUFACTURER PROBLEM NOT THE DRIVERS. FORD HAS RECALLED THE CLUTCH AND TRANSMISSION BUT NOW STATES THEY CANT FIX MY TRANSMISSION UNDER WARRANTY ONLY THE CLUTCH. I DID NOT CAUSE THE TRANSMISSION TO MALFUNCTION I SHOULDNT HAVE TO PAY FOR THEIR PROBLEMS AND FAULT. I WANT FORD TO EITHER REPLACE MY TRANSMISSION FOR FREE OR JUST BUY THE CAR BACK. I DO NOT FEEL SAFE DRIVING IT AND PUTTING MY LIFE AND OTHERS AT STAKE, HAVING NO CONTROL OF MY CARS JERKY MOVEMENTS AND HAVING IT STALL ON ME EVEN THO IT IS A AUTOMATIC CAR. I OFTEN FEEL LIKE I AM DRIVING A MANUAL CAR THAT I HAVE NO CONTROL OFF, IT IS SCARY! PURCHASED THIS VEHICLE IN JULY 2013 WITH A LITTLE OVER 50K MILES. NOTICED WITHIN A COUPLE WEEKS THAT IT DID MAKE SOME STRANGE NOISES (RATTLING, SWITCHING, ETC.) PARTICULARLY WHEN SHIFTING AT SPEEDS UNDER 40MPH. HAD IT CHECKED OUT & NOTHING COULD BE FOUND WRONG AT THE SHOP. FAST FORWARD TO MARCH 2016 & THE NOISES HAVE GOT WORSE & LOUDER, SHIFTING IS IN NO WAY SMOOTH OR NORMAL, & SOMETIMES FEELS LIKE IT IS SLIPPING. I HAVE BEEN IN MAINTENANCE & MANAGEMENT FOR SEVERAL YEARS & CANNOT HAVE THE WOOL PULLED OVER MY EYES ON MECHANICAL MATTERS. UNFORTUNATELY THOUGH, I AM NOT EMPLOYED BY ANY FORD ENTITY SO IT IS PROVING VERY DIFFICULT TO ACTUALLY GET THIS PROBLEM RESOLVED. 3 WEEKS AGO I LEFT THE CAR WITH THE LOCAL FORD DEALERSHIP ALL DAY TO CHECK OUT THE ISSUES WE'VE BEEN SEEING. WHEN PICKED BACK UP, THEY STATED IT ONLY NEEDED A PROGRAMMING UPDATE. I KNEW RIGHT AWAY THAT IT STILL WASN'T LIKE A NORMAL VEHICLE BUT DID NOT SEEM TO BE NEAR AS ROUGH AS BEFORE. ALREADY NOW, IT IS FAR WORSE THAN EVER. WHEN NORMALLY ACCELERATING AROUND TOWN/CITY, THE CAR FEELS COMPLETELY UNSAFE & UN-RELIABLE. I AM AFRAID TO ALLOW MY CHILDREN TO RIDE IN THIS CAR WHICH IS A TERRIBLE FEELING! I'M TAKING BACK TO THE DEALERSHIP THE FIRST OF THIS COMING WEEK HOPING FOR A SOLUTION. WE SPENT QUITE A BIT ON AN EXTRA WARRANTY THAT IS STILL IN EFFECT FOR QUITE A WHILE BUT NOBODY SEEMS TO WANT TO ADMIT SOME COMPONENTS ARE SUB-STANDARD IN QUALITY. THIS IS VERY FRUSTRATING TO HAVE TO GO THROUGH-FIRST TIME FOR ME. I TRULY HOPE THAT SOMEONE WILL TAKE THIS ISSUE SERIOUSLY & ADDRESS IT BEFORE PEOPLE ARE INJURED OR KILLED DUE TO THE LACK OF QUALITY THAT FORD HAS PROVIDED IN THESE VEHICLES. TO ANYONE CONSIDERING PURCHASING ANY MAKE OR YEAR OF VEHICLE WITH LIKE PARTS-I WOULD SERIOUSLY RECONSIDER (TRULY & HONESTLY). MILEAGE IS NOW AT 93K WITH 90% ALL HIGHWAY MILES SINCE OWNERSHIP (25 MILES EACH WAY DAILY HIGHWAY COMMUTE).
MANY TIMES WITH IN THE LAST FEW MONTHS MY FORD 2012 FEISTA WILL JUST TURN OFF WHILE DRIVING, IT DOES NOT MATTER IF ITS HOT OR COLD, FLAT DRIVING OR MOUNTAIN DRIVING.THE CAR REALLY DOES NOT PERFORM WELL IN TRAFFIC SITUATIONS,AND THE FAILURE OCCURS MORE DURING STOP AND GO TYPE OF DRIVING. WHEN THIS HAPPENS THE ENGINE MALFUNCTION LIGHT WILL TURN ON. AT THAT TIME YOU HAVE TO TURN THE IGNITION SWITCH OFF AND RESTART THE CAR, SOMETIMES THE SIGNAL WILL TURN OFF, SOMETIMES IT DOES NOT. THIS FAILURE HAS HAPPENED IN THE MIDDLE OF INTERSECTIONS, ON THE FREEWAY OR JUST DRIVING THROUGH TOWN. THE CAR WILL SHUTTER SOMETIMES BEFORE IT SHUTS OFF, OR JUST STARTS TO STALL. WHEN THIS HAPPENS I AM ABLE TO MOVE TO THE SHOULDER OR PULL OFF THE ROAD TO RESTART THE CAR. THIS FAILURE OF THE CAR JUST STOPPING WHILE RUNNING WHILE HAS A HIGH POTENTIAL OF ME BEING IN AN AUTO ACCIDENT. SINCE THIS FAILURE HAPPENS AT ANY TIME AND CANNOT BE PREDICTED I TAKE MY LIFE AND MY FAMILIES LIVES IN DANGER EVERY TIME WE GET INTO THIS CAR. I CAN ONLY TAKE GUESSES AT WHAT THE PROBLEM IS, IT COULD BE THE FUEL INJECTION, TRANSMISSION, OR SOME TYPE OF ENGINE MISFIRE. I HAVE HAD NOTHING BUT PROBLEMS WITH CAR SINCE WE BOUGHT IT. I HAVE READ MANY COMPLAINTS OF THIS TYPE OF FAILURE FOR THIS VEHICLE WHEN READING REVIEWS. IT IS MY HOPE THIS ISSUE CAN BECOME A RECALL OR THAT FORD WILL TAKE ACTION.
THIS IS MY DAUGHTERS CAR SHE LIVES IN LOS ANGELES. SHE HAD ME FLY OVER FROM FLORIDA TO EVALUATE HER CAR BECAUSE SHE WAS AFRAID TO DRIVE IT. I WAS SHOCKED WHAT I FOUND. THE AUTO 'POWERSHIFT' TRANSMISSION DEVELOPED SERIOUS STUTTER HESITATION AND GRINDING WHEN PULLING AWAY FROM A STOP. VEHICLE SOMETIMES FAILED TO ACCELERATE UNLESS FULL THROTTLE APPLIED WHICH WAS TERRIFYING ON THE INTERSTATE. SERIOUS SHUDDER WAS EXPERIENCED AT LOW SPEED GIVING IMPRESSION ENGINE COULD STALL. NO CONFIDENCE CAR WAS SAFE TO DRIVE. TRANSMISSION HAS ALREADY BEEN REPAIRED TWICE BUT IS NOW WORSE THAN EVER WITH ONLY 26000 MILES. I HAVE HAD TWO VEHICLES WITH THE FORD POWERSHIFT BOTH DEVELOPED SIMILAR PROBLEMS WITH LOW MILEAGE. THESE TRANSMISSIONS ARE NOT SAFE!
