PASSENGER DOOR SENSOR IS ONLY WORKING HALF OF THE TIME. THE DOOR IS CLOSED BUT THE ALARM SHOWS THE DOOR AS OPENED. OPENING AND CLOSING THE DOOR AGAIN AND AGAIN WILL EVENTUALLY WORK TO REGISTER THE DOOR AS CLOSED. THIS IS A SAFETY CONCERN AS I AM NEVER REALLY SURE IF THE DOOR IS CLOSED. WHEN THE DOOR IS SHOWN AS OPEN THE INTERIOR LIGHTS REMAIN ON.

WHILE OPERATING THE VEHICLE, THE "POWER STEERING FAILURE" MESSAGE DISPLAYED AND THE POWER STEERING MALFUNCTIONED, WHICH MADE THE STEERING WHEEL VERY DIFFICULT TO TURN IN EITHER DIRECTION. THE FAILURE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE LOCAL DEALER (NASHVILLE FORD, 723 S. DAVIS ST., NASHVILLE GA, 31639) AND THE MANUFACTURER WERE BOTH NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 86,000.
THE DRIVER SIDE DOOR SENSOR KEEPS SAYING THAT THE DOOR IS OPEN WHEN IT'S CLOSED. WHILE DRIVING THE CAR SAYS SHIFT TO PARK AND CONSTANTLY ALERTS BECAUSE IT THINKS THAT THE DOOR IS OPEN AND WON'T ALLOW THE DOORS TO LOCK. THE CAR ALARM GOES OFF RANDOMLY EVEN WHEN IT'S LOCKED AND YOU AREN'T ABLE TO USE THE BUTTONS TO TURN OFF THE ALARM WITHOUT MANUALLY INSERTING THE KEY IN THE DOOR WHILE PRESSING THE BUTTON.. AND THE LIGHT ON IN THE CAR WILL STAY ON ALL NIGHT BECAUSE IT THINKS THE DOOR IS OPEN. I HAVE SEEN THIS AS AN ISSUE FOR MANY OTHER PEOPLE WHO OWN THE FORD FLEX AS WELL. WITH THE DOORS NOT LOCKING DURING DRIVING AND BATTERY DRAINAGE THIS CONCERNS ME AS A MOTHER.

THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO DICK SMITH FORD IN RAYTOWN, MISSOURI WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE FUEL PUMP LEVELER MODULE WAS DEFECTIVE AND NEEDED REPLACEMENT. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THIS WAS THE THIRD TIME THE FAILURE OCCURRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE AND FILED CASE NUMBER: CAS-144337507. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED FOR THE THIRD TIME. THE VIN WAS INVALID. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 119,827.

ALARM GOES OFF RANDOMLY AT ANYTIME CAR IS PARKED. DOORS DO NOT LOCK ANYMORE WHEN CAR IS BEING DRIVEN. SAFETY CONCERNS THAT DOOR IS NOT SHUT WHEN CAR IS IN MOTION.
THE DOOR AJAR LIGHT IS ON EVEN WHEN THE DOOR IS SECURELY CLOSED!
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2013 FORD FLEX. WHILE THE VEHICLE WAS IN REVERSE, ALL THE WARNING INDICATORS ILLUMINATED. WHILE THE VEHICLE WAS PARKED, THE TRUNK OPENED INDEPENDENTLY. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT TAKEN TO A DEALER OR INDEPENDENT MECHANIC TO DETERMINE THE CAUSE OF THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER INFORMED THE CONTACT THAT THERE WAS NO RECALL ON THE VEHICLE AND DID NOT ASSIST. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 40,000.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2013 FORD FLEX. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE FRONT PASSENGER SIDE DOOR LATCH FAILED TO LOCK AND THE DOOR AJAR WARNING INDICATOR ILLUMINATED. THE CONTACT WAS CONCERNED THAT HER CHILD WOULD BE ABLE TO OPEN THE DOOR WHILE THE VEHICLE WAS IN MOTION. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO CENTURY FORD OF MT. AIRY (302 CENTURY DR, MT AIRY, MD 21771, (301) 829-2800) WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT ALL FOUR DOOR LATCHES NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE AND WAS ADVISED TO CALL NHTSA. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 96,000.
MY CAR IS AFFECTED BY THE SAME RECALL AS MANY OTHER FORD FLEX VEHICLES, HOWEVER, MY VEHICLE IS NOT LISTED AS PART OF THE RECALL. I AM HAVING ISSUES WITH THE FUEL PUMP CONTROL MODULE OF MY VEHICLE AND IT WILL NOT START. IT CRANKS AND ACTS LIKE IT WANTS TO START HOWEVER IT WILL NOT START DUE TO THE LACK OF FUEL CREATED BY THE FUEL PUMP MODULE.
MY DRIVER SIDE PASSANGER DOOR AJAR, DOME LIGHTS WON'T GO OFF, MY 4YR OLD DAUGHTER SITS ON THAT SIDE, WAS DRIVING AND IT HAPPEND DOOR WOULD NOT LOCK, TOOK TO FORD DEALER, WAS QUOTED $435. HAVE TO HAVE IT REPLACED AS IT IS DRAINING MY BATTER, AND MAKING CAR ALARM GO OFF, IT HAPPENS IN MOTION, AND STATIONARY, IT IS VERY UNSAFE, AND SHOULD BE RECALLED
THE REAR PASSENGER SIDE DOOR SENSOR IS ON SAYING DOOR IS NOT CLOSED. DOOR IS CLOSED AND SENSOR WILL NOT GO OFF. THIS KEEPS THE INSIDE LIGHTS IN THE VEHICLE ON FOR A CERTAIN AMOUNT OF TIME AFTER YOU START DRIVING OR AFTER YOU TURN THE CAR OFF. IT IS VERY HARD TO SEE AT NIGHT WHEN YOU ARE TRYING TO BACK UP AND THE INSIDE LIGHTS IN THE CAR ARE ON.
LIFTGATE AJAR LIGHT ON WHEN LIFTGATE IS CLOSED. INTERIOR LIGHTS STAY ON. DOORS STAY UNLOCKED DURING DRIVE.
THE DRIVERS SIDE DOOR IS SHOWING THAT IT IS OPEN RANDOMLY WHEN I AM DRIVING DOWN THE ROAD. (DOOR IS CLOSED AND LOCKED) THE LIGHTS AND ALARM WILL COME ON AND MAKES IT UNABLE TO SEE AT NIGHT WHEN DRIVING. THIS IS A SAFETY ISSUE AND NEEDS TO BE RECALLED DUE TO UNSAFE DRIVING CONDITIONS. THE DOOR SENSOR IS A ISSUE THAT NEEDS TO BE FIXED.
BOTH OF THE TAIL LIGHTS HAVE WATER INTRUSION ABOUT 3 0Z OF WATER WITHIN THE CHAMBER. I HAVE REPLACED LIGHTS SEVERAL TIMES.SHORTENING OUT WHICH HAS CAUSED A PROBLEM WITH SAFETY AND TRAFFIC VIOLATIONS.

THIS CAR IS RIDDLED WITH ELECTRICAL PROBLEMS MOST IMPORTANTLY THE PASSENGER DOOR DOESN'T READ CLOSED SO THE DOORS WON'T LOCK WHEN YOU START DRIVING ALLOWING MY 3 YEAR OLD NIECE TO OPEN THE DOOR AT 20 MPH ALMOST GIVING MY WIFE A HEART ATTACK. THEN THE ALARM GOES OFF AT ALL KINDS OF RANDOM TIMES, IF THIS HAPPENS WHILE DRIVING IT ALSO SHUTS OFF AND LOCKS THE STEERING WHEEL DISALLOWING YOU TO GET THE VEHICLE OFF THE ROAD LUCKILY I LIVE IN A SMALL PLACE WHERE IT'S NOT BEEN A COTASTRIFY. ALSO JUST RECENTLY A CRASH INDICATION MODULE DECIDED IT HA D BEEN IN AN ACCIDENT AND STRANDED MY WIFE 75 MILES FROM HOME. ODDLY I HAVE A FAMILY FRIEND WHO TRADED HER FLEX IN FOR THE SAME REASONS.
2013 FORD FLEX WOULD TURN OVER JUST FINE (BATTERY WAS FINE) BUT WOULD NOT START. IT ACTED LIKE IT WAS NOT GETTING ANY FUEL (WHICH WAS THE CASE). FORTUNATELY, I WAS NOT DRIVING AT THE TIME AS THAT WOULD HAVE BEEN A POTENTIALLY SERIOUS SITUATION. THE DEALERSHIP REPLACED THE FUEL PUMP DRIVER MODULE (PART #AA8Z 9D370 B) WHICH IS UNDER RECALL FOR OTHER MODELS OF MY VEHICLE BUT NOT MINE. AFTER RESEARCHING THE INTERNET, THIS IS A PREVALENT ISSUE AND SHOULD BE ADDRESSED FOR ALL ENGINE MODELS (NOT JUST ONE).
FUEL IS NOT GETTING TO ENGINE THIS VEHICLE WAS MANUFACTURED IN OAKVILLE ONTARIO BETWEEN THE TIME OF A RECALL (16V621000) BUT DOES NOT HAVE ECHO BOOST ENGINE. FORD CLAIMS IT IS NOT PART OF THE RECALL BUT THE ISSUE MATCHES THE EXACT RECALL.
THE VEHICLE INCORRECTLY BELIEVES THE DOORS ARE OPEN WHEN THEY ARE SHUT. THIS PREVENTS THE DOORS FROM LOCKING AT ALL SPEEDS, WHICH IS AN UNSAFE CONDITION. IF AN OCCUPANT TRIES TO LOCK THE DOORS WHILE THE VEHICLE IS IN MOTION, THE VEHICLE IMMEDIATELY UNLOCKS THE DOORS. THE ISSUE ALSO CAUSES THE INTERIOR LIGHTS TO STAY ILLUMINATED WHILE THE VEHICLE IS PARKED AND UNTIL THE VEHICLE REACHES AN APPROPRIATE SPEED WHEN IN USE. THE OPEN/CLOSED STATE OF THE DOOR CHANGES AT RANDOM (WITHOUT THE ACTUAL DOOR BEING OPENED OR CLOSED) AND CAUSES THE ALARM TO RANDOMLY GO OFF WHEN THE VEHICLE IS PARKED. THE COMBINATION OF THE LIGHTS STAYING ILLUMINATED AND THE ALARM GOING OFF WHEN THE VEHICLE IS PARKED DRAINED AND RUINED THE BATTERY IN THE VEHICLE. JUMP STARTING THE VEHICLE DID NOT WORK AND THE BATTERY HAD TO BE REPLACED.
WHEN STATIONARY AND PARKED, THE DOOR AJAR ERROR MESSAGE APPEARS ON THE DASH FOR THE DRIVER'S DOOR AFTER ENTERING THE VEHICLE. THIS PRODUCES ERROR MESSAGES ON THE SCREEN, TURNS ON THE INTERIOR LIGHTS, AND PREVENTS THE DOORS FROM BEING LOCKED. AFTER REPEATEDLY OPENING AND SLAMMING THE DOOR SHUT MULTIPLE TIMES THE MESSAGE MAY OR MAY NOT GO AWAY. IF SLAMMING THE DOOR SHUT MULTIPLE TIMES DOES NOT WORK THE MESSAGES, LIGHTS, AND INABILITY TO LOCK THE DOORS CONTINUES WHILE IN MOTION.
THE DOOR SENSOR KEEPS SAYING THAT THE DOOR IS OPEN WHEN IT'S CLOSED. THE CAR ALARM GOES OFF RANDOMLY EVEN WHEN IT'S LOCKED AND NO ONE TOUCHED THE KEY. AND THE LIGHT ON IN THE CAR WILL STAY ON ALL NIGHT BECAUSE IT THINKS THE DOOR IS OPEN. SOMETIMES IT SAYS THE DOOR IS SHUT AND WILL BE FINE AND OTHER TIMES IT'S OPEN. I HAVE SEEN THIS AS AN ISSUE FOR OTHER PEOPLE AS WELL. IF THERE ARE ENOUGH COMPLAINTS WILL YOU RECALL IT?
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2013 FORD FLEX. WHILE DRIVING 40 MPH, THE VEHICLE STALLED WITHOUT WARNING. THE CONTACT WAS ABLE TO RESTART THE VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO JACK DEMMER FORD (37300 MICHIGAN AVE, WAYNE, MI 48184, (734) 721-2600) WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE BATTERY NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE BATTERY WAS REPLACED, BUT THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC TO BE DIAGNOSED. THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THERE WAS INSUFFICIENT FUEL PRESSURE GOING TO THE ENGINE, WHICH CAUSED THE VEHICLE TO STALL. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT INCLUDED IN NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 16V621000 (FUEL SYSTEM, GASOLINE). THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE CONTACT RECEIVED CASE NUMBER: TAS13866368. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 52,000.
2013 NA 3.5L FIRED FLEX FUEL PUMP CONTROL MODULE (PART # AA8Z 9D370 B) FAILURE HAS LED TO ME BEING STRANDED 3 TIMES AND CAUSED THE VEHICLE TO STALL TWICE (ONCE WHILE IN MOTION). FORD HAS RECALLED THE 2013-2015 FORD FLEX WITH THE 3.5L ECOBOOST (TURBOCHARGED) ENGINE FOR THE SAME ISSUE (FUEL PUMP CONTROL MODULE FAILURE/REPLACEMENT), AND USES THE SAME PART IN BOTH VEHICLES (PART # AA8Z 9D370 B). VEHICLE FAILED TO START WHEN PARKED 3 SEPARATE TIMES, RESULTING IN IT BEING TOWED TO A DEALERSHIP TWICE. VEHICLE STALLED ONCE WHILE STATIONARY, AND ONCE WHILE IN MOTION WITHOUT WARNING. DEALER INDICATED THAT THE FUEL PUMP CONTROL MODULE IS AT FAULT AND NOT UNDER RECALL. FORD OPENLY RECALLED THE TURBOCHARGED FLEX FOR THE SAME PART THAT HAS FAILED IN THE NATURALLY ASPIRATED VERSION THAT I HAVE.
CAR BATTERY DYING. SAID SYNCH LINE IS IN, BUT IT'S NOT. DOOR AJAR LIGHTS FOR BOTH DRIVER AND PASSENGER SIDE ARE ALWAYS ON. WHEN COME TO A STOP, BEEPS AND SAYS ENGINE ON, SHIFT TO PARK. CAN'T LOCK DOORS. HAVE TO MANUALLY LOCK DOORS, OTHERWISE THE ALARM ALWAYS GOES OFF. SO CANNOT LOCK THE HATCH. THIS IS A SAFETY AND THEFT PROBLEM. INTERIOR LIGHTS STAY ON FOR HOURS AT A TIME. CANNOT SEE WHEN BACKING OUT OF PLACES AT NIGHT BECAUSE THE INTERIOR LIGHT IS ON. THIS IS GOING TO CAUSE AN ACCIDENT.
2013 FORD FLEX SE PURCHASED IN DECEMBER 2012 WITH 60,000 MILES IS EXPERIENCING FRONT AND REAR PASSENGER DOOR LATCHING PROBLEMS. THE FRONT PASSENGER DOOR 'DOOR AJAR' LIGHT IS TRIGGERED AFTER THE DOOR HAS BEEN CLOSED. WHEN THIS PROBLEM BEGAN, OPENING AND CLOSING THE DOOR WOULD BE ENOUGH TO ENGAGE THE SENSOR BUT OVER THE PAST MONTH IT HAS NOT BEEN EFFECTIVE. THIS IS A PROBLEM FOR A FEW REASONS: FIRST, IT DOES NOT AUTOMATICALLY LOCK THE DOORS WHEN THE CAR IS IN MOTION WHICH IS A POTENTIAL SAFETY HAZARD UNDER NORMAL DRIVING CONDITIONS OR IF THE VEHICLE WAS TO BE IN AN ACCIDENT. THE DOOR COULD POSSIBLY FLY OPEN DURING A COLLISION LEAVING THE PASSENGERS VULNERABLE TO BEING THROWN FROM THE VEHICLE OR OBJECTS COMING INTO THE VEHICLE. SECOND, THE CABIN LIGHT REMAINS ON WHILE DRIVING WHICH CREATES A GLARE ON THE WINDSHIELD MAKING IT IMPOSSIBLE TO SEE OUTSIDE THE VEHICLE. THIRD, THE CABIN LIGHTS STAY ON AFTER THE VEHICLE IS LOCKED WHICH CAUSES AN UNWARRANTED STRAIN ON THE VEHICLE BATTERY. AS FOR THE BACK RIGHT PASSENGER DOOR, IT IS NOT LATCHING. I FEAR THAT AT ANYTIME THE DOOR MAY COME UNLATCHED WHILE DRIVING. IF THIS PROBLEM CONTINUES AND THE DOOR DOES NOT LATCH, THE VEHICLE WILL BE INOPERABLE. SINCE MY WARRANTY EXPIRED AND THERE ARE NO RECALLS, I AM EXPECTED TO PAY THE PRICE TO MAINTAIN DOOR LATCHES ON A VEHICLE.

THE CAUSE OF THE FAILURE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE, BUT NO ASSISTANCE WAS OFFERED. THE LOCAL DEALER WAS NOT NOTIFIED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 109,000.
APIM FAILED OVER A YEAR AGO. THIS IS A LARGE VEHICLE TO NOT HAVE A BACKUP CAMERA, NO NAVIGATION OR RADIO ADJUSTMENTS. I WAS NEVER INCLUDED IN THE RECALL. I REACHED OUT TO FORD TO SEE WHY AND THEY SAID MY CAR WAS NOT IN THE SYSTEM. I HAVE 2 FLEX AND A LINCOLN MKT AND THE DEALERS ARE TERRIBLE ABOUT DOING ANYTHING WITHOUT CHARGING. 89.9O TK CHECK A RECALL PROBLEM.
MY 2013 FORD FLEX HAS DOOR LATCH SENSOR ISSUES. WHEN I AM DRIVING ANYWHERE (CITY, HIGHWAY, INTERSTATE) MY INTERIOR LIGHTS WILL RANDOMLY TURN ON AND I GET A 'DOOR AJAR' NOTIFICATION WHEN THE DOORS ARE CLEARLY CLOSED. IT IS ALARMING AND HAS ALMOST CAUSED ACCIDENTS. WHEN I RESEARCHED THE PROBLEM ONLINE, IT IS AN EXTREMELY COMMON PROBLEM THAT HAS CAUSED NUMEROUS ACCIDENT AND COST FLEX OWNERS THOUSANDS UPON THOUSANDS OF DOLLARS,ONLY TO HAVE THE PROBLEM REOCCUR IN 6 MONTHS TO A YEAR. I RECENTLY CONTACTED MY FORD DEALERSHIP AND THEY TOO ARE AWARE OF THE PROBLEM AND STATED THAT IT IS A VERY COMMON PROBLEM IN FLEX'S AND I WILL PROBABLY HAVE TO REPLACE THE LATCH SYSTEM EVERY 2-3 YEARS. AT $350-500 A LATCH THIS IS A VERY DANGEROUS AND COSTLY PROBLEM TO BE SO COMMON. THE SOLUTION MOST SUGGEST IS TO GROUND THE WIRE GOING TO THE LATCH, WHICH WILL TOTALLY DEFAULT THE SENSOR ALL TOGETHER AND MAKE THE VEHICLE THINK THAT THE DOORS ARE CLOSED AT ALL TIMES, WHICH IS ALSO VERY UNSAFE.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2013 FORD FLEX. WHILE ENTERING THE VEHICLE AND INSERTING THE KEY INTO THE IGNITION, THE VEHICLE WOULD NOT START. THE CONTACT HAD THE VEHICLE TOWED TO REDLANDS FORD INC (1121 W COLTEN AVE, REDLANDS CA 92374) WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE FUEL PUMP MODULE NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS AT THE DEALER BEING REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS ALSO CONTACTED AND DID NOT ASSIST. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 34,000.
"FORD FLEX POWER STEERING ASSIST FAILURE AND TRAC CONTROL MALFUNCTION. THE EPAS MOTOR ON MILLIONS OF VEHICLES ARE FAILING AND VERY DANGEROUS FOR FLEX OWNERS. I HAVE FOUND THAT FROM RESEARCH ON THIS ISSUE THAT THE EPAS MOTOR IS ACTUALLY OVERHEATING AND BURNING UP THE ELECTRIC MOTOR. FORD MANUFACTURER HAS DELIBERATELY LIED TO NHTSA ABOUT WHAT THE ACTUAL PROBLEM IS. THIS IS A VERY UNSAFE CONDITION FOR WHICH THEY PRESENTED A RECALL ON CERTAIN 2013 VEHICLES. I SPOKE WITH MY LOCAL DEALERSHIP ABOUT THE ISSUE AND THEY RESPONDED THAT MY VIN NUMBER DOES NOT FALL IN THE CAMPAIGN OR TECHNICAL SERVICE BULLETINS. CAMPAIGN FOR THE RECALL IS EXACTLY WHAT IS GOING ON WITH MY VEHICLE BUT YET FORD WANTS TO CHARGE ME MONEY FOR THE REPAIRS AND DIAGNOSTIC WHEN THEY ARE WELL AWARE THAT THIS IS A MANUFACTURER ISSUE. IT IS A VERY UNSAFE CONDITION WHICH HAS KILLED AND INJURED PEOPLE. THEY JUST HAVEN'T GOTTEN TO THE POINT TO WHERE THEY ADMIT THAT IT IS ON WAY MORE VEHICLES THAN THEY ARE ADMITTING TO. I AM VERY DISAPPOINTED THAT NHTSA IS NOT FORCING FORD TO REPAIR THE VEHICLES THAT HAVE THE SYMPTOMS OF THE EXACT RECALL ON A CASE-BY-CASE BASIS AT VERY LEAST. I WAS TRAVELING AROUND 70 MILES AN HOUR DOWN INTERSTATE I-40 WHEN SYSTEM FAILED AND ALMOST FLIPPED MY VEHICLE. HOW CAN A DEALERSHIP NOT BE RESPONSIBLE FOR THIS OR HOW MANY PEOPLE HAVE TO DIE BEFORE THEY DO TAKE RESPONSIBILITY? RECALL NUMBER IS 15 S18 OR 15V340000.
1. DRIVER AND PASSENGER SIDE DOOR SENSOR/LATCH/ELECTRICAL MALFUNCTION. DOOR IS AJAR WARNING DOES NOT TURN OFF. DOORS CANNOT LOCK WHEN DRIVING. MAJOR SAFETY ISSUE FOR KIDS IN BACK SEATS. ALARM GOES OFF ANYTIME RANDOMLY. DRAINS BATTERY AND AFFECTS ELECTRICAL SYSTEM. FAULTY BACK UP CAMERA. 2. WATER PUMP FAILURE UNDER ENGINE. COVERED BY 6YR/60K WARRANTY, FAILED AT 62K MILES. REPLACEMENT COST IS AN EXTREME HIGH COST OF $2700.
REPEATED STEERING FAILURES. INITIAL FAILURE (SPRING 2016) OCCURRED SEVERAL MONTHS AFTER COLLISION REPAIR (DECEMBER 2015) DONE AT DEALER SERVICE DEPARTMENT. REPAIRED VEHICLE CAME BACK WITH TIGHTER STEERING THAN PREVIOUSLY EXPERIENCED. FAILURE IN SPRING 2016 INVOLVED COMPLETE LOSS OF POWER STEERING UPON STARTUP OF VEHICLE. SHUT DOWN AND RESTART DID NOT RESTORE POWER STEERING OPERATION. STEERING GEAR REPLACED BY DEALER SERVICE DEPARTMENT. SECOND FAILURE (SPRING 2017) INVOLVED LOSS OF TRACTION CONTROL, STABILITY CONTROL, CRUISE CONTROL DUE TO FAILURE OF POWER STEERING CONTROL MODULE. POWER STEERING CONTROL MODULE REPLACED BY DEALER SERVICE DEPARTMENT. THIRD FAILURE (NOVEMBER 28, 2017) IS LOSS OF POWER STEERING GEAR UPON VEHICLE STARTUP. SHUT DOWN AND RESTART RESTORED POWER STEERING OPERATION.
THE DOOR SENSORS KEEPED ON INDICATING THAT THE DOOR WAS OPEN WHEN IT WAS CLOSE. NUMEROUS COMPLAINTS ONLINE ABOUT THE SAME ISSUE. I HAD TO REPLACE ALL FOUR DOORS SENSORS.
POWER STEERING HAS GONE OUT A FEW TIMES IN MY FLEX. FIRST TIME WAS AFTER IT WAS PARKED, THE WHEELS WERE TURNED OUT, IT WAS STARTED, AND IT WAS VERY DIFFICULT TO TURN AND MANEUVER THE VEHICLE IN THE PARKING LOT. SECOND TIME, WAS THIS MIRING, I BACKED OUT OF THE DRIVEWAY, AND WHEN I PUT THE CAR IN DRIVE ON OUR STREET IT WAS AGAIN VERY HARD TO STEER. BOTH TIMES WHEN I TURNED THE CAR OFF AND BACK ON, IT WAS LIKE NOTHING WAS WRONG.
PASSENGER SIDE DOORS GIVE FALSE DOOR AJAR NOTIFICATIONS. FIRST OCCURRENCE WAS REPAIRED JUNE 2017. REAR PASSENGER DOOR NOW SHOWS THE NOTIFICATION AS OF NOVEMBER 2017. FALSE NOTIFICATION LEADS TO DOME LIGHTING AND EXTERIOR LIGHTS STAYING ON. BATTERY WAS DRAINED AND REPLACED IN JUNE 2017. DOORS FAIL TO LOCK USING AUTOMATIC DOOR LOCK WHILE IN MOTION. DEALER DETERMINED IT WAS A FAULTY DOOR LATCH ASSEMBLY WHICH SEEMS TO BE IMPACTING OTHER FORD VEHICLES.
WHEN THE DOOR IS CLOSED THE LIGHT INDICATES IT IS OPEN ON THE DRIVER SIDE AND THE PASSENGER SIDE. THERE IS A RECALL ON 2014 15 AND 16 FOR THE SAME ISSUE
MY FORD FLEX STALLS WHILE DRIVING ANYWHERE FROM 10 MPH (IN RESIDENTIAL AREA) TO 80 MPH ON HIGHWAY. ELECTRICAL IS STILL WORKING THE ENGINE SHUTS OFF AND I LOSE CONTROL OF GAS/BRAKES. THREE WARNING SIGNS POP UP AT THE SAME TIME: CHECK BRAKE SYSTEM, COLLISION WARNING NOT AVAILABLE, AND SERVICE ADVANCE TRAC. ONCE I RESTART THE CAR, THE CODES WILL DISAPPEAR. THE PROBLEM WAS INTERMITTENT AT FIRST, BUT NOW IT'S OCCURRING MORE FREQUENTLY. I'M TOO SCARED TO DRIVE MY CAR NOW. FORD ISNT BEING MUCH HELP. I NEED HELP.
OVER THE PAST 6 MONTHS, MY POWER STEERING WOULD FAIL LEAVING ME IN MANUAL MODE. I WOULD STOP AND RESTART THE CAR AND THE POWER WOULD RETURN. I TOOK THE CAR IN THIS WEEK AND IT WILL NOW COST ME $2000 TO REPAIR IT. PRIOR TO TAKING IT TO MY DEALERSHIP, I RESEARCHED POSSIBLE RECALLS. SURE ENOUGH, THERE WAS ONE IN 2015 FOR "CERTAIN" 2013 FORD FLEX. BUT MY VIN WAS NOT IN THE RECALL. I CALLED FORD CUSTOMER SERVICE AND ALL THE REPRESENTATIVE DID WAS READ SCRIPTS TO ME LETTING ME KNOW THAT MY CAR WAS NOT IN THE RECALL. THIS IS THE SECOND THING ON MY CAR THAT HAS GONE WRONG THAT WAS COVERED FOR OTHER "CERTAIN" FLEX--THE FIRST WAS THE FUEL PUMP. DISAPPOINTED THAT IDENTIFIED PROBLEMS ARE NOT COVERED FOR ALL!!!

I WAS PULLING INTO MY DRIVEWAY AND MY STEERING COLUMN LOCKED UP COMPLETELY. THE IDIOT ALARM STARTED GOING OFF AND I RECEIVED AND ERROR CODE. THE ERROR READ POWER STEERING FAILURE. I TOOK IT TO TIRE KINGDOM AND THEY SAID I WAS PART OF THE 15V3400000 RECALL. I CALLED FORD AND THEY WOULD NOT COVER THE REPAIR EVEN THOUGH IT'S EXACTLY THE SAME SAFETY RECALL ISSUE I AM HAVING AND MY CAR IS ON THE RECALL LIST. THEY SAID SORRY YOUR VIN ISN'T LISTED AS BEING AFFECTED. IT'S CLEARLY THE SAME ISSUE AND IS. WING AFFECTED. IT'S DANGEROUS THAT I WASN'T NOTIFIED AND NOW THAT I'M HAVING THE PROBLEMS THAT CAUSED THE RECALL IN THE FIRST PLACE THEY STILL WON'T FIX IT.

THE MANUFACTURER STATED THAT IF THE VEHICLE FAILED, THE CONTACT SHOULD TAKE IT TO A LOCAL DEALER FOR DIAGNOSTIC TESTING. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 75,000.

OTHER THAN HAVING THE INDICATION WHILE DRIVING, MOST OF THE PROBLEMS ARE WHEN IT IS PARKED AND LOCKED (IF I COULD). THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE BATTERY TO THE VEHICLE HAD TO BE REPLACED TWICE DUE TO THE FAILURE. THE LOCAL DEALER WAS NOT CONTACTED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE, THEY FILED A COMPLAINT WITH THE MANUFACTURER. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 55,000. THE VIN WAS INVALID.
THE REAR PASSENGER DOOR CLOSED ELECTRICAL CONTACT DOES NOT SHOW DOOR CLOSED. DOME LIGHTS STAY ON AND DRAIN BATTERY. DEALER WANTS $400 TO REPAIR IT AND WHEN TOLD TO CUT THE WIRE HE LAUGHED. THE CAR WAS IN MOTION WHEN THIS HAPPENED THE FIRST TIME. IT DOES NOT SHUT OFF.
I WAS DOING A U-TURN ON A CUL DE SAC AND ALL OF A SUDDEN THE STEERING WHEEL JERKED AND THE MOTOR DIED AND WHEN I RESTARTED THE CAR I HAD NO POWER STEERING CAPABILITIES AND THE WARNING LIGHTS FOR THE POWER STEERING CONTROL AND THE ADVANCE TRAC CAME ON AND THE TURN SIGNALS WOULD NOT STAY ON WITHOUT HOLDING THEM IN THE UP OR DOWN POSITION.

I TRIED RESTARTING THE CAR BUT IT WOULD NOT START. I HAD TO TRY STARTING IT MANY TIMES AND AFTER AWHILE IT FINALLY STARTED AGAIN.

THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED, BUT THE FAILURE PERSISTED. THE VEHICLE WAS THEN TOWED BACK TO THE DEALER WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE RCM MODULE NEEDED REPLACEMENT. UPON FURTHER INVESTIGATION, THE FAILURE WAS DISCOVERED TO BE A WIRING ISSUE FROM THE FUEL PUMP REPAIRS. THE VEHICLE WAS REWIRED. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE AND A CASE WAS OPENED. WHILE DRIVING VARIOUS SPEEDS, THE STEERING SEIZED AND THE POWER STEERING WAS LOST WITHOUT WARNING. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN BACK TO THE DEALER WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED WITH A STEERING RACK FAILURE, WHICH NEEDED REPLACEMENT. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED DUE TO THE COST. THE MANUFACTURER'S WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE, A CASE WAS OPENED, AND THE CONTACT WAS REFERRED TO NHTSA. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 72,018.
I WAS DRIVING DOWN THE STREET AND ALL OF A SUDDEN MY POWER STEERING WENT OUT. I SEARCH FOR A RECALL A WHILE BACK AND DIDN'T SEE ANYTHING. I AM A SINGLE MOTHER OF 3 AND I DON'T HAVE MONEY TO SPEND OUT ON SOMETHING LIKE THIS WHEN IT SHOULD NOT BE A PROBLEM I'M HAVING WITH A FAIRLY NEW VEHICLE. I WAS TOLD THE PROBLEM IS THE POWER STEERING GEAR AND THE ANGLE POSITION SENSOR. I HAVE NOTICED THAT OTHER 2013 FORD FLEX WERE ISSUED A RECALL FOR THIS PROBLEM, BUT MINE WAS NOT. I CALLED THE FORD MANUFACTURER AND SPOKE WITH 3 DIFFERENT REPRESENTATIVES (REPS) AND A SUPERVISOR. TWO REPS TOLD ME THERE WAS NOTHING THEY COULD DO AND THE OTHER REP AND SUPERVISOR STATED I WOULD NEED TO TAKE MY VEHICLE TO A FORD SERVICE DEPARTMENT AT A DEALERSHIP AND IT WOULD BE THEIR DISCRETION ON WHETHER THEY WILL FIX IT, DISCOUNT IT OR SOMETHING. I DON'T THINK IT IS THE DEALERSHIP'S RESPONSIBILITY AS THEY DID NOT MAKE THE VEHICLE, THEY ONLY SELL THEM. I SPOKE WITH THE SERVICE DEPARTMENT MANAGER AT LANCE CUNNINGHAM FORD IN KNOXVILLE, TN AND HE AGREED AND STATED HE DIDN'T KNOW WHY THEY WOULD TELL ME THAT. HE WAS ALSO NICE ENOUGH TO SAY THAT HE WOULD HELP ME OUT THE BEST HE COULD BECAUSE HE WANTED TO KEEP ME AS A CUSTOMER. PLEASE HELP ME! I DO NOT THINK IT IS A COINCIDENCE THAT THE SAME ISSUE IS HAPPENING TO MY VEHICLE AS IT HAS OTHERS MADE THE SAME TIME AS MINE. I HAVE ALSO READ OTHER COMPLAINTS AFTER RESEARCHING THAT MANY OTHER CUSTOMERS IN FORD VEHICLES (FOCUS, FUSION, ETC.) ARE HAVING THE SAME ISSUES AND THE MAJORITY OF OUR VEHICLES ARE LESS THAN 5 YEARS OLD.
