In a rear end accident the airbags never deployed. The seat belt also didn't catch me and my chest hit the steering wheel. I pressed hard on the breaks but it didn't feel like it was slowing down. I now have a fractured sternum and cannot drive or work. I have filed insurance claims and been to the hospital. No one was in the car with me. There were no warning lights/signs before.
I was driving my car and the engine started on fire. It ruined the entire engine. It was not overheating. All my fluids were full. I don't know why it happened.
FUSE CONTINUED TO BLOW OUT CAUSING ENTIRE LEFT SIDE OF LIGHTS FROM FRONT TO BACK TO TURN OFF UNTIL NEW FUSE REPLACED OLD. WAS CONNECTED TO CONTINUED LIFTING OF HATCHBACK ON WAGON MODEL. ELECTRICAL HARNESS WAS ARCING AND INSULATION FLAKING OFF AND WOULD HAVE CAUSED A FIRE HAD NOT THE HARNESS BEEN REPLACED. THIS HAD BEEN ON AND OFF FOR APPROXIMATELY 2 YEARS STARTING WITH BLOWING OUT THE BULBS THEN THE FUSE STARTED BLOWING OUT IN JAN 2021. MIDAS REPLACED HARNESS THIS MARCH. CAR IS A 2005 FOCUS WAGON,
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2005 FORD FOCUS. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE STOPPED, SHE WOULD NOTICE THAT HER VEHICLE WOULD BOUNCE UP AND DOWN. THE CONTACT THEN TOOK THE VEHICLE TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHO INFORMED HER THAT THE ENGINE MOUNTS WERE DEFECTIVE AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED IMMEDIATELY. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE AND BUT OFFERED NO FURTHER ASSISTANCE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 53,085.*DT CONSUMER STATED MECHANIC STATED ENGINE MOUNTS WERE BAD AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED.*JB

I PAID $415.58 WHICH INCLUDED FOUR OF THE BEFORE MENTIONED TIRES; NEVADA RECYCLING FEE; LIFETIME NEW TIRE WHEEL BALANCE LABOR; LIFETIME RUBBER VALVE; SCRAP TIRE RECYCLING FEE; AND TIRE INSTALLATION. I BOUGHT THESE TIRES AT FIRESTONE COMPLETE AUTO CARE GREEN VALLEY 220 NORTH STEPHANIE STREET, HENDERSON, NEVADA 89074, PHONE#702-434-0692. I HAD 59,284 MILES ON MY CAR. ON DECEMBER 31, 2019, BECAUSE OF THE TIRES GOING FLAT AND THE WEAR BAR TOO LOW FOR ME TO DRIVE SAFELY ON THESE TIRES, I HAD TO BUY FOUR NEW TIRES. I HAD 106,125 MILES. I STILL HAD 23,159 MILES LEFT ON MY 70,000 MILES WARRANTY. I BOUGHT 4 114572 PRIMEWELL PS830 195/60R 15 88HBL DOT#Y9K5D8HK3210 TIRES PRIE $47.99. THE FIRESTONE LOCATED AT 1323 BOULDER CITY PARKWAY, BOULDER CITY, NEVADA 89005 PHONE#294-0098 GAVE ME A CREDIT OF $26.80 FOR ALL FOUR TIRES CHARGING $41.29 FOR EACH TIRE. I PAID A TOTAL OF $303.20 FOR THESE TIRES. I AM VERY UPSET THAT I HAD TO BUY CHEAPER TIRES BECAUSE THE BETTER TIRES I BOUGHT DID NOT LAST THE FULL $70,000 MILES.
TODAY MY ACCELERATOR GOT STUCK WHEN PULLING INTO A PARKING LOT WITH MY KIDS. I WAS LUCKILY NOT GOING MORE THAN 10MPH AND WAS ABLE TO QUICKLY PUT THE CAR INTO NEUTRAL AND STOP THE CAR WITHOUT HITTING ANYONE OR ANYTHING. EARLIER IN THE DAY I NOTICED IT TOOK A LITTLE MORE EFFORT TO PUSH THE GAS PEDAL DOWN, BUT NOT BY MUCH AND AFTER THE CAR RESTING FOR SEVERAL HOURS, IT WASN'T AN ISSUE ANYMORE. I WASN'T EXPECTING IT TO BE AN ISSUE LATER ON. AS FAR AS ELECTRICAL ISSUES GO; MY HEADLIGHTS DO NOT LIKE TO STAY ON. I HAVE TO PLAY WITH THE WIRES WHERE THEY CONNECT TO THE HEADLIGHTS IN ORDER FOR THEM TO TURN ON, BUT THEY OFTEN DO NOT STAY ON, AND THEY FREQUENTLY WILL TURN OFF AND ON WHILE DRIVING, SOMETIMES IT'S JUST ONE SIDE, OR ALTERNATING SIDES. THIS HAS BEEN AN ISSUE FOR OVER A YEAR AND EVERYTIME I HAVE WORK DONE TO FIX IT, IT ONLY FIXES IT TEMPORARILY AND IT'S BACK TO DOING THIS ALL OVER AGAIN.
THE FRONT DOOR HANDLES QUIT WORKING AND THERE'S NO WAY TO GET DOOR OPEN???? FRONT DOOR HANDLES QUIT WORKING. CANT GET IN MY CAR
THIS CAR HAS DELAYED REACTION OR NO REACTION AT ALL TO PRESSING THE GAS PEDAL. IT DOESN'T GO, IT'LL MOVE A LITTLE BIT, BUT MOSTLY JUST FEVS REALLY HIGH THEN ALL OF A SUDDEN IT'LL KICK IN AND BOLT FORWARD, WHILE DRIVING ON HIGHWAY OR FROM A COMPLETE STOP, DOESN'T MATTER. THE CAR LUNGES A LOT, FORWARD AND SIDEWAYS WHILE DRIVING AT 60 MPH OR FASTER. ACCELERATES SOMETIMES ON ITS OWN. THIS CAR IS VERY SCARY TO DRIVE AND HAS NO BUSINESS BEING ON A FREEWAY...EVER!
THE WIRING BETWEEN THE HATCH DOOR AND THE BODY IS DETERIORATED WITH A BROKEN WIRE FOR THE LICENSE PLATE LIGHT AND THE INSULATION CRACKED AND MISSING ON MANY OF THE OTHER WIRES. THIS IS A REAL HAZARD AS SHORTS COULD OCCUR AFFECTING ALL THE REAR LIGHTS THAT ARE CONTROLLED WITH THESE WIRES. LUCKILY I READ ON A YOUTUBE REPORT ABOUT THIS PROBLEM. I DETECTED THE PROBLEM WITH THE VEHICLE PARKED IN MY GARAGE WHILE INVESTIGATING THE LIGHTING PROBLEM.
I HAVE HAD MY IDLER PULLEY BOLT BREAK FOUR TIMES IN THE LAST TWO YEARS. EACH TIME THIS HAPPENS, I HAVE NEARLY RAN OFF OF THE ROAD. I HAVE TAKEN IT TO FORD AND THEY CLAIM THEY HAVE NEVER HEARD OF IT HAPPENING EVEN THOUGH I HAVE TOLD THEM I HAVE FOUND NUMEROUS REPORTS OF THE SAME THING HAPPENING TO OTHER FORD OWNERS. THIS IS VERY SCARY AS IT HAPPENS UNEXPECTEDLY AND FORD DOESN'T SEEM TO THINK IT IS A SERIOUS ISSUE. I HAVE SEEN BMW HAS HAD TWO RECALLS FOR THIS EXACT ISSUE AND AN WONDERING IF THERE IS ANYTHING WE CAN DO TO URGE FORD TO TAKE THE SAME STANCE ON THEIR FAULTY PARTS. BOUGHT A 2005 FORD FOCUS IN APRIL, 2018. TOLD SALES MAN THAT AIRBAG ENGINE LIGHT REMAINS ON. WAS TOLD IS OK. ON 6/112018, CALLED CUSTOMER SERVICE FORD COOPERATE SPOKE WITH A LADY. SHE ASK FOR VIN NUMBER, I GAVE IT TO HER. SHE SAID 2005 FOCUS HAS NO AIRBAG RECALL. I TOLD HER THAT AIR BAG LIGHT STAYS ON SINCE WE BOUGHT THE CAR. SHE DIDN'T TAKE INTEREST ON THAT. I ASKED HER WHAT COMPANY MADE 2005 FORD FOCUS AIRBAG? SHE WOULD NOT TELL ME. I CALLED LOCAL FORD DEALER IN WESLEY CHAPEL FL. TOLD SERVICE TECH SAME THING THAT I TOLD COOPERATE OF ENGINE LIGHT AIRBAG ALWAYS STAYS ON. HE TOO SAID IS NOTHING. THAT VIN NUMBER IS NO RECALL. I ASKED HIM AS WELL WHICH COMPANY PUT AIRBAGS IN 2005 FOCUS, WAS IT TAHKATA? HE TOO WOULDN'T ANSWER ME. SO I EMAIL MR. W.FORD TO EXPLAIN ABOVE SITUATION WITH AIRBAG LIGHT AND WHO PLACED AIR BAGS IN 2005 FOCUS. HAVE NOT HEARD FROM HIM OR HIS OFFICE, EXPLAINED TO MR. 2005 FORD FOCUS ZX5 S. CONSUMER WRITES IN REGARDS TO CONCERNS WITH UNINTENDED ACCELERATION. *LD THE CONSUMER REQUESTED INFORMATION IF ANY INTO AN INVESTIGATION CONCERNING SPEED CONTROL. *JS
I HAVE A STANDARD AND WAS DRIVING DOWN THE HIGHWAY WHERE THE SPEED LIMIT IS 55 MPH WHEN MY GAS PEDAL BECAME STUCK IN BETWEEN SHIFTING. I TRIED TO PUSH THE GAS PEDAL DOWN BUT IT WOULD NOT GO. I HAD TO LET MY CAR COAST OVER TO A TURNING LANE IN ORDER TO GET OUT OF COMING TRAFFIC. I PUT MY EMERGENCY LIGHTS ON AND HAD TO LET MY CAR SIT. AFTER A FEW MINUTES I TRIED TO PUSH THE GAS PEDAL DOWN AND IT STILL WOULD NOT WORK. I THEN TURNED THE CAR OFF AND RESTARTED IT AND THE GAS PEDAL STILL WOULD NOT MOVE. I TURNED THE CAR OFF AGAIN AND RESTARTED IT AND LET THE CAR SIT AGAIN FOR ABOUT 5 MINUTES. THE PEDAL FINALLY WORKED BUT AS SOON AS I MADE IT TO THE NEXT INTERSECTION AND MADE MY TURN INTO THE PARKING LOT WHERE I WORK, THE GAS PEDAL WAS STUCK AGAIN. I THEN PUT THE CAR IN NEUTRAL AND LET IT COAST INTO A PARKING SPOT.

ON THE 27TH OF NOV. 2017 WHILE PUTTING MY CAR INTO THE GARAGE THERE WAS A SUDDEN ACCELERATION, CRASHING INTO THE WALL PUSHING THE SHELVING INTO THE SPARE BEDROOM. I PUT IT INTO REVERSE AND EXITED THE GARAGE AT A HIGH RATE OF SPEED, STILL TRYING TO BRAKE. HIT A TREE AT THE CURB PUT THE CAR INTO DRIVE INSTEAD OF NEUTRAL THEN HEADED BACK TOWARD THE HOUSE WHILE STILL TRYING TO BRAKE, WAS ABLE TO SWERVE MISSING THE HOUSE, TURNED OFF THE KEY AND WOUND UP IN MY NEIGHBORS BACKYARD.
THE CAR CUTS OFF IN THE MIDDLE OF DRIVING. I TOOK IT TO A MECHANIC HE SAID WAS THE FUEL PUMP. I TOOK IT FOR ASECOND OPINION THIS MECHANIC SAID WAS A MODULE FOR THE FUEL PUMP. HE ALSO A CAR SAME MAKE AND MODEL WITH THE EXACT SAME PROBLEM. I DID AM INTERNET SEARCH AND IT WAS TOO MANY CARS WITH THIS SAME PROBLEM. THERE SHOULD BE A RECALL. MY CAR CUT OFF IN THE MIDDLE OF THE HIGHWAY.
IMMEDIATELY UPON STARTING MY CAR ... MY FUEL GAUGE WOULD FLASH ON AND OFF LIKE AS IF IT WAS LOW. I NOTICED THAT THE WEATHER WAS DAMP AND A FOG IN THE AIR. THE FUEL GAUGE WAS FLASHING WITH A HALF TANK OF GAS IN MY VEHICLE. UPON DRIVING OFF SLOWLY, MY REAR HATCH UNLATCHED AND MY DASHBOARD LIGHTS TURNED OFF. THIS OCCURRED 4-5 TIMES ... BEFORE I WAS ABLE TO GET MY TRUNK TO LATCH. ALTHOUGH I WAS ABLE TO DRIVE DOWN THE HIGHWAY EVENTUALLY WITHOUT MY REAR HATCH UNLATCHING, MY DASHBOARD LIGHTS WERE COMPLETELY OFF.
THROUGHOUT MY OWNERSHIP OF 2005 FORD FOCUS WAGON SES ZXW, I HAVE HAD PERIODIC ISSUES WITH THE REAR HATCH UNLATCHING ON ITS OWN. I WILL UNLATCH WHILE DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY. SOMETIMES IT WILL UNLATCH WHEN DEPRESSING THE BRAKE PEDAL. ALTHOUGH IT WILL UNLATCH UPON THE START OF A TRIP AT SLOW SPEEDS AS WELL, IT HAS MOSTLY OCCURRED ON THE HIGHWAY. I HAVE OWNED THE VEHICLE SINCE 2007. THE PROBLEM WOULD OCCUR PERIODICALLY 3-7 TIMES EVERY 1-1.5 YEARS SINCE THE 2008-2009. THE PROBLEM DEFINITELY OCCURS UNDER A DAMP AND MORNING DEW CONDITION. IT'S LIKE AN ELECTRICAL SHORT HAS OCCURRED I MY VEHICLE. THE LATCH STOPPED WORKING IN 2009 VIA THE PUSH BUTTON IN THE DASH AND EVEN WITH MY REMOTE KEY. I CHECKED THE FUSE PANEL ... AND IT WAS NOT BLOWN. THIS CONDITION MOSTLY OCCURS WHILE THE VEHICLE IS IN MOTION.
I APPROACHED A RED LIGHT, ON FARM TO MARKET ROAD 1960 (STATE HIGHWAY FM 1960) WHILE IN MOTION AND I PRESSED THE BRAKE. THE MOTOR REVVED UP AND WOULD NOT STOP. IT SEEMED LIKE THE GAS PEDAL WAS STUCK. I ASKED MY DAUGHTER TO REACH DOWN AND PULL THE GAS PEDAL UP. THIS DID NOT WORK THOUGH. THE LIGHT BY THE GRACE OF GOD TURNED GREEN. I CONTINUED DRIVING FORWARD WHILE HOLDING THE BRAKE ALL THE WAY DOWN ON THE FLOOR. I RELEASED THE BRAKE AND THE MOTOR ACCELERATED FASTER. I IMMEDIATELY STOMPED ON THE BRAKE AGAIN. I WAS ACCELERATING AT A FASTER SPEED. I QUICKLY LOOKED FOR A SAFE PLACE TO STOP SO I TURNED LEFT INTO A NEIGHBORHOOD AND GOT OUT OF HEAVY TRAFFIC. I THREW THE CAR IN NEUTRAL, IT REVVED UP OUT OF CONTROL AS IF IT WANTED TO EXPLODE. I THREW IT IN PARK AND TURNED THE ENGINE OFF. I TOWED MY CAR TO MY HOME. THE ISSUE IS UNKNOWN AT THIS TIME. I WILL SEND MY CAR TO A MECHANIC ASAP.

THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO A SALVAGE YARD WHERE IT WAS DEEMED DESTROYED. THERE WERE NO INJURIES. THE DEALER WAS NOT CONTACTED. TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2005 FORD FOCUS. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHEN STARTING THE VEHICLE, THE INSTRUMENT PANEL FAILED TO FUNCTION. THE CONTACT THEN REPLACED A FUSE FOR THE INSTRUMENT PANEL HOWEVER, THE FAILURE RECURRED AFTER 24 HOURS. THE DEALER AND THE MANUFACTURER WERE NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS UNKNOWN.
WAS DRIVING AN 05 FORD FOCUS ZXW IN LIGHT RAIN AT ABOUT 40 MPH GOING UPHILL ON A MAJOR ROADWAY (55MPH SPEED LIMIT). VEHICLE IN FRONT BY ABOUT 40 FT STOPPED AND I HIT THE BRAKES. UPON HITTING THE BRAKES THE VEHICLE SEEMED TO START A GRADUAL SLIDE AND NEVER ALLOWED ITSELF TO REGAIN TRACTION.
THE LEFT LOWER CONTROL ARM ON THE FRONT SUSPENSION FAILED AT APPROXIMATELY 45 MPH ON A 5 LANE CITY ROAD CAUSING THE WHEEL TO FOLD UNDER THE VEHICLE. THE CAR MADE AN IMMEDIATE LEFT TURN INTO ONCOMING TRAFFIC AND CONTROL OF THE VEHICLE WAS LOST. FORTUNATELY THE CAR CAME TO A STOP WITHOUT HITTING ANYTHING AND NO ONE WAS INJURED BUT THE POTENTIAL FOR A SERIOUS ACCIDENT WAS CERTAINLY THERE. THE CONTROL ARM FAILED DUE TO CORROSION AND UPON INSPECTION, IT WAS FOUND THAT THE RIGHT FRONT LOWER CONTROL ARM IS ALSO RUSTED THROUGH AND CRACKED AND NEARING FAILURE AS WELL. PICTURES ARE ATTACHED. THE CAR HAS APPROXIMATELY 105,000 MILES ON IT AND WE ARE THE SECOND OWNER. IT HAS BEEN EXTREMELY WELL MAINTAINED THROUGHOUT ITS LIFE. IN MY 50 YEARS OF EXPERIENCE WORKING ON AUTOMOBILES I'VE NEVER SEEN A CONTROL ARM FAILURE LIKE THIS.
KEY GETS STUCK IN THE IGNITION. UPON RESEARCH IT IS OBVIOUS THAT THIS IS AN ISSUE WITH THE FORD FOCUS. REMEDIES SUGGEST TO MOVE THE PIECE ON THE SHIFT UPWARD, HOWEVER, THIS IS NOT WORKING FOR MY VEHICLE.
HATCHBACK WIRING HARNESS BETWEEN BODY AND HATCHBACK, HAS MULTIPLE WIRE INSULATION FAILURE AND WIRE BREAKAGE CAUSING FUSES TO BLOW AND NON-FUNCTIONING PARKING LIGHTS, REVERSE LIGHTS, BREAK LIGHTS, INSTRUMENT COLUMN LIGHTS, AND UNCONTROLLED RELEASE OF ELECTRICAL TRUNK WHILE DRIVING.
FIRST ISSUE: ON SEVERAL OCCASIONS, WHEN STOPPING THE CAR, PARKING, AND ATTEMPTING TO REMOVE THE KEY, THE KEY HAS BECOME STUCK IN THE IGNITION AND CANNOT REMOVE IT--- SOMETIMES FOR A FEW DAYS, OTHER TIMES FOR A FEW WEEKS, AT WHICH TIME IT SIMPLY COMES OUT WHEN ATTEMPT IS MADE. SECOND ISSUE: GEARS OCCASIONALLY SLIP UPON ACCELERATING, RESULTING IN FINALLY SLAMMING INTO GEAR.
ON MANY OCCASIONS THE REAR HATCH (ZXW WAGON) HAS OPENED ON ITS OWN. I'VE ALWAYS ASSUMED I MUST NOT HAVE CLOSED IT PROPERLY AS IT ALSO HAS NOT LATCHED ON MANY OCCASIONS WHEN CLOSING IT. SOMETIMES IT CAN TAKE SEVERAL ATTEMPTS, CLOSING IT FIRMLY. ONE THE MOST RECENT OCCASSION OF THE HATCH OPENING WHILE DRIVING OUR DOG WAS IN THE CAR BAG CARGO AREA, SO YOU CAN IMAGINE MY ANGER AT THE LATCH. ANOTHER ISSUE HAS BEEN THE LICENCE PLATE LIGHTS NOT ILLUMINATING THE PLATE AT NIGHT, WHICH HAS RESULTED IN A STOP BY AN OFFICER. YESTERDAY, MAY 18TH 2017, THE BATTERY LIGHT ILLUMINATED FOR ABOUT 2 MINUTES ON MY DRIVE HOME, THEN WENT OFF. WHEN I GOT HOME I PUT A METER ON THE BATTERY WHILE THE ENGINE WAS RUNNING AND GOT 12.04-12.7 VOLTS. WHILE SEARCHING YOUTUBE FOR SOME HOW-TO ALTERNATOR VIDEOS I STUMBLED ACROSS A VIDEO THAT SPOKE OF THE WIRING IN THE HATCH AREA. I REMOVED THE BOOT AND SURE ENOUGH, HALF OF THE WIRES HAD DAMAGED JACKETS AND A FEW WERE EXPOSED. I'VE MADE TEMPORARY REPAIRS AND AS NOW THE VOLTAGE READS 14.5 OR MORE WITH THE ENGINE RUNNING. ALSO, THE LICENSE PLATE LIGHTS ARE WORKING AGAIN. THIS REPAIR IS SURELY GOING TO BE TEMPORARY AT BEST AS I SIMPLY DO NOT HAVE THE FUNDS FOR A REPAIR FACILITY TO DO THE WORK AND I HAVE LIMITED RESOURCES. I COULD NOT SELL THE CAR WITH CLEAR CONSCIENCE WITHOUT DISCLOSING MY DISCOVERY WHICH SURELY MEANS MOST PEOPLE ARENT GOING TO WANT IT. I WOULD LIKE TO KNOW IF THERE WAS ANY RECALL FOR THIS, CONSIDERING IT COULD HAVE THE POTENTIAL TO CAUSE MANY MALFUNCTIONS IN THE VEHICLE'S SAFETY AS WELL THE SAFETY OF PASSENGERS, CARGO AND OTHER DRIVERS ON THE ROADWAY. THIS LATCH POPPING ISSUE HAS HAPPENED IN PRETTY MUCH EVERY CONDITION.....MY DRIVEWAY, IN MY NEIGHBORHOOD, THE HIGHWAY ETC.
THIS FOCUS HAS BEEN SPEEDING UP, WITHOUT WARNING. THE BRAKES WILL NOT STOP IT. THIS HAS HAPPENED ABOUT 15 TIMES IN THE PAST YEAR. I HAVE TAKEN IT TO SUBURBAN FORD, WHERE I PURCHASED IT, BRAND NEW. THEY DON'T KNOW WHAT'S WRONG. DON'T KNOW HOW TO FIX IT, ETC. I TELL THEM HOW FRIGHTENING THIS IS WHEN IT HAPPENS. I AM SO AFRAID I WILL HURT SOMEONE. THEY JUST LOOK AT ME LIKE I'M NUTS. THE SERVICE MANAGER TOLD ME THAT THE TECHNICIANS DON'T HAVE A CODE FOR UNINTENDED ACCELERATION. HE SAID IF IT WERE HIM, HE WOULD GET A NEW ONE. WELL, I CAN'T AFFORD A NEW ONE, SO I'M STUCK WITH IT. I HAVE HAD THIS SPEEDING UP, (AND ROARING VERY LOUDLY). WHEN DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY, IN THE CITY, OR IN A PARKING LOT. IT ALMOST WENT FLYING THROUGH A PLATE GLASS WINDOW OF A STORE THERE ARE MANY ARTICLES ABOUT THIS ON THE COMPUTER. I PRINTED THEM OUT, AND TOOK THEM WITH ME TO THE DEALERSHIP. NO ONE WANTED TO SEE THEM. THIS HAPPENED WHEN I TOOK IT TO GRESHAM FORD, IN GRESHAM, ALSO. NO ONE CAN FIX IT, THEY LOOK AT ME LIKE I'M CRAZY, THEY DON'T CARE THAT THIS VEHICLE COULD HURT OR KILL SOMEONE. IT SCARES ME TO DRIVE IT. SO FAR, NO ONE HAS BEEN ABLE TO HELP WITH THIS PROBLEM. OH,YES, IT ALSO DOES THIS WHEN IT IS STATIONARY.....THAT IS WHEN IT ROARS AS LOUD AS IT CAN. THIS CAR NEEDS A BRAKE OVERRIDE SYSTEM . THERE HAVE BEEN NUMEROUS FORD MODELS, INCLUDING PICK UP TRUCKS, BETWEEN 2002 AND 2010 INVOLVED IN THIS PROBLEM. 14 STATES BACK EAST WERE INVOLVED IN A CLASS ACTION LAW SUIT AGAINST FORD FOR THIS. THE FACT THAT THESE PEOPLE OUT HERE (OREGON) KNOW NOTHING ABOUT IT, CAN'T FIX IT BECAUSE "THERE HAVE BEEN NO OTHER REPORTS OF THIS HAPPENING', IS INFURIATING. TRANSMISSION STARTED SLIPPING AT AROUND 80,000 MILES TO THE POINT WHERE 2ND AND 3RD GEAR WERE NEARLY NON EXISTENT. WHEN OD LIGHT STARTED BLINKING AUTOZONE TOLD ME THAT SOLENOIDS/TRANSMISSION WERE SHOT. AFTER REPLACING THE SOLENOIDS AS WELL AS THE TRANSMISSION ITSELF WITH AN IDENTICAL TRANSMISSION FROM AN IDENTICAL VEHICLE, IT IS APPARENT THAT THESE TRANSMISSIONS ARE INDEED FAULTY. IT IS STILL SLIPPING AND SLAMMING INTO GEAR. OVERDRIVE RARELY FUNCTIONS PROPERLY AND TENDS TO SHUT ITSELF OFF.
TAKATA RECALL CAR RANDOMLY SHUTS OFF BUT RADIO IS STILL ON AT STOP LIGHT. I PUT IT ON NUETRAL AND IT STARTS BACK UP NO PROBLEM.
AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION SHIFTER FORK MALFUNCTION. TOOK TO MECHANIC FOR DIAGNOSIS AND REPAIR. TURNED OUT THAT THE OEM/ORIGINAL SHIFTER FORK HAD BEEEN MADE OF PLASTIC AND BROKE DUE TO EQUIPMENT FATIGUE. WAS REPLACED WIT METAL OEM. REPLACEMENT SHIFTER FORK OBTAINED BY MECHANIC.

DOING RESEARCH ONLINE, THIS SEEMS TO BE A WIDESPREAD ISSUE WITH THIS CAR.

THIS TIME I WAS DRIVING THE CAR IN A LITTEL HILL AT 45 MPH IN A ZONE OF 50 MPH, AT A HALF OF KM I CHANGE THE GEAR BECAUSE THE ROAD WAS WET TO SLOW DOWN THE CAR BUT SUDDENLY IT START SLIDING OVER THE WED ROAD. CONSIDERING THE TIME AND, THE MANEUVERS TO TAKE CONTROL OF THE CAR I START PUMPING THE BREAKS AND TRIED TO PULL THE CAR OUT OF THE ROAD BUT OT DIDNT CHANGE ITS DIRECCTION. AT LESS THEN 8 METERS THE CAR GOT A LITTEL OF TRACTION BUT IT WAS TO LATE TO EVADE THIS ACCIDENT. DURING THE COLITION THE AIR BAGS DIDNT DEPLOY LEAVING MY BODY HIT THE WHEEL. IT WAS A MIRACLE WE ARE ALIVE AND I DONT WHANT TO IMAGINE DRIVING THIS CAR DURING A SNOW ROAD.
BOUGHT THE CAR FOR MY MOTHER IT HAD 91,000 MILES ON IT AND RAN FINE. IT NOW HAS 106,000 MILES ON IT AND THE AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION HAS FAILED WITH A BROKEN INTERMEDIATE BAND, LOOKED UP THE PROBLEM AND FOUND LOTS OF COMPLAINTS ABOUT THE SAME PROBLEM AGAIN AND AGAIN. IT WILL SHOW UP AS A SHIFT SOLENOID "D" PROBLEM BUT IF YOU FIX IT, IT WILL NOT HELP. THE BAND IS BROKEN AND MUST BE REPLACED. CAR WOULD NOT SHIFT SMOOTHLY FROM 2 - 4 GEAR.
