SUNROOF SHATTERED: MERGING ONTO THE FREEWAY HIT A FEW POT HOLES AND MY SUNROOF JUST SHATTERED. NOTHING HIT IT IS JUST MADE A CRASHING SOUND. *TR
POWER STEERING FLUID LEAK LEADING TO LOUD NOISES WHEN RUNNING CAR. FORD KNOWS ABOUT THIS PROBLEM AND HASN'T DONE JACK ABOUT IT FOR ABOUT 5 OR MORE YEARS. THERE IS EITHER A PROBLEM WITH THE O-RING OR POWER STEERING PUMP. IF THE PROBLEM IS NOT FOUND THERE COULD BE MORE ISSUES LIKE THE POWER STEERING FAILING. A RECALL IS NEEDED ASAP!!!!! *TR
2009 FORD FOCUS 4 DOOR, THE DRIVER SIDE DOOR WILL NOT OPEN FROM OUTSIDE. THE DOOR LOCKS DO NOT WORK ALL THE TIME AND YOU WILL GET LOCKED IN AND HAVE TO CRAWL OVER THE SEATS TO GET OUT. THE PROBLEM IS THAT THERE IS ONLY ONE KEY HOLE ON THE DRIVER SIDE BUT IT DOES NOT UNLOCK THE OTHER DOORS SO YOU CANNOT GET IN SINCE THE DOOR ONLY OPENS FROM THE INSIDE IF IT IS UNLOCKED. YOU CANNOT MANUALLY UNLOCK THE FRONT DOORS BUT YOU CAN CRAWL OVER THE SEATS AND PULL UP THE REAR DOOR LOCKS OR CLIMB OUT THE WINDOWS. FORD HAS NOT ISSUED A RECALL ON THIS AND I SEE SEVERAL PEOPLE WITH THE SAME PROBLEM. THIS IS VERY DANGEROUS ESPECIALLY IF THERE IS AN ACCIDENT AND YOU CANNOT GET THE DOORS OPEN. I GUESS IT WILL TAKE A DEATH BEFORE FORD WILL DO SOMETHING ABOUT IT. MY SON HAS TO KEEP THE DOORS UNLOCKED SO HE CAN GET INTO A PASSENGER DOOR AND OPEN THE INSIDE LATCH TO GET INTO HIS CAR. I GOT LOCKED IN AND HAD TO CRAWL OVER THE FRONT SEATS TO GET OUT SINCE I THOUGHT HE WAS JOKING. WE HAVE THE DOOR PANEL OFF AND DOOR LOCK ASSEMBLY OUT SO NOW I AM ON THE HUNT FOR REPAIR PARTS. THE HANDLE SEEMS TO BE IN WORKING ORDER BUT THE LATCH IS NOT. WE LUBED IT BUT IT KEEPS LOCKING UP AND YOU CANNOT OPEN IT UP TO SEE WHAT'S WRONG WITH IT. I THINK FORD WANTS PEOPLE TO SPEND A FORTUNE TO FIX THE PROBLEM OR JUST BUY A NEW CAR THAT YOU CAN'T AFFORD. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2009 FORD FOCUS. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING AT APPROXIMATELY 30 MPH, THE ENGINE STALLED WITHOUT WARNING. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO THE CONTACT'S RESIDENCE WHERE A CERTIFIED MECHANIC REPLACED THE IGNITION CYLINDER. THE FAILURE RECURRED FOUR WEEKS AFTER THE REPAIR WAS PERFORMED. THE DEALER THEN REPLACED THE IGNITION FOR THE SECOND TIME. MOST RECENTLY, THE ENGINE FAILED TO START DUE TO THE FAULTY IGNITION LOCK MODULE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 105,421.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2009 FORD FOCUS. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE TRAVELING VARIOUS SPEEDS, THE VEHICLE SUDDENLY LOST ACCELERATION POWER. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A PRIVATE MECHANIC WHERE IT WAS FOUND THAT THE THROTTLE HAD SEIZED IN THE CLOSED POSITION. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS CONTACTED ABOUT THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 60,000.
MOTOR AND TRANSMISSION MOUNTS NEED REPLACING ON 2009 FORD FOCUS WITH ONLY HIGHWAY MILES ON IT. *TR
THE CAR WAS ON THE INTERSTATE TRAVELING AT 55 MPH ; THE ENGINE STALLED AND RESTARTED, WHEN EXISTING TO SEE WHETHER IT WOULD GAIN SPEED, THE CAR SLIPPED OUT OF GEAR . IT WENT INTO REVERSE, BACKING UP. AFTER TRYING TO CORRECT IT . THE CAR SPED UP ALMOST CAUSING A MAJOR ACCIDENT, THE CAR RESTARTED WITH THE SHIFT OUT OF DRIVE, I DROVE THE CAR THREE BLOCKS TO MY HOME. I LEFT THE CAR WHEREVER IT STOPPED, THE NEXT DAY, I TRIED TO DRIVE IT; THE CAR PLACED IN DRIVE WENT IN REVERSE BACKING UP. I LEFT IT THERE AND HAD WRECKER COMPANY TO TAKE IT TO A TRANSMISSION SHOP ON UNION AVENUE. THEY INSPECTED THE CAR AND SAID IT WOULD TAKE $2,0000 TO GET THE TRANSMISSION REPAIRED. SINCE, THE CAR WAS UNDER ENGINE WARRANTY FROM ACURA DEALERS OF MEMPHIS, I HAD THE WRECKING COMPANY TO TAKE THE CAR BACK TO THE DEALERSHIP. THEY SOLD ME A 2013 TOYOTA COROLLA WHICH IS EXPERIENCING THE SAME PROBLEM. NOW, I HAVE ANOTHER CAR FROM THE SANE DEALERSHIP WHICH APPARENTLY SELLS USED CARS WITH TRANSMISSION PROBLEMS. *TR
WHILE TRANSITIONING FROM ONE ROAD TO ANOTHER, THE VEHICLE SUDDENLY LOST POWER. WHEN TRYING TO ACCELERATE, THE VEHICLE REACHED APPROXIMATELY 5000 RPMS AND DID NOT REACH A SPEED ABOVE 20MPH. THIS CONTINUED TO OCCUR AT EACH STOPPING POINT. THE ENGINE WOULD THEN "KICK" AND NORMAL DRIVING CAPABILITIES WOULD BE RESTORED BRIEFLY. *TR

I BOUGHT A SET OF TIRES AT SEARS IN UTAH, THE INVOICE SAID 75,000 MILES/WARRANTY. AFTER 29,000 MILES ON MY CAR I NOTICE LOST OF TREAD. I COMMUNICATE GOODYEAR BY DOING A COMPLAINT WITH BBB ( BETTER BUSINESS BUREAU ). GOODYEAR TOLD THAT SEARS DID A MISTAKE, TIRES WARRANTY IN 65,000 MILES. GOODYEAR AGREES TO REIMBURSE PART OF NEW TIRES SET AND I DISAGREE, MY CONCERN IS THAT TIRES FABRICATION LOT COULD HAVE DEFECTS THAT COULD CAUSE MAJOR CONSEQUENCES. I NOTICE THAT MICHELIN TIRES HAD SAME PROBLEMS AND THEY DID A RECALL. INFORMATION ABOUT THOSE TIRES: DUNLOP SIGNATURE - 195 60/R15 88T M+S DOT (1) MKRB 1XHR 2011 AND (3) MKRB 1XHR 2111. JUST IN TIME, GOODYEAR AUTHORIZED SEARS TO DO A TIRE INSPECTION AND SEARS NOTICE AND CONFIRM LOST OF TREAD. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2009 FORD FOCUS. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE THE VEHICLE WAS BEING SERVICED FOR UNRELATED REPAIRS, THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THE REAR TIRES WERE CUPPING. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER FOR INSPECTION WHERE IT WAS CONFIRMED THAT THE TIRES WERE CUPPING AND THE SHOCKS POSSIBLY NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE ISSUE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 78,343.
AIRBAG ON FRONT PASSENGER SIDE IS BULGING OUT OF THE SEAMS...ON TOP OF THE DASH...I BOUGHT THE CAR USED AND IT WAS FINE...THERE WERE NO ACCIDENTS TO CAUSE THIS, IT JUST STARTED BUSTING THROUGH THE LEATHER SEAMS... *TR
WHAT IT IS THAT BEEN HAPPENING FOR YEARS NOW IS THE IGNITION SWITCH WILL NOT ALLOW MY KEY TO TURN OVER THE CAR TO START IT. I HAVE TOO JIGGLE IT TO FINALLY GET IT TO STRART MY CONCERN IS SOMETHING GOING WRONG AND CAUSING A MAJOR PROBLEM
EXACTLY AS DESCRIBED IN OTHER ENTRIES ON THIS SITE, AND SIMILAR TO THE PROBLEMS DESCRIBED IN THE NYTIMES TODAY ABOUT GM CARS (ALTHOUGH MINE IS A FORD- PROBABLY THE SAME FAULTY COMPONENT IS IN BOTH GM AND FORD). NUMEROUS TIMES AND AT VARIOUS SPEEDS, INCLUDING ON THE HIGHWAY, THE CAR WILL INEXPLICABLY "STALL OUT"- THE ENGINE COMPLETELY SHUTS OFF AND NO LONGER ACCELERATES. FIRST TIME WAS WITH MY WIFE DRIVING WITH OUR BABIES ON THE HIGHWAY. SHE WAS TERRIFIED, AND DID A HEROIC JOB OF GETTING OVER TO THE SHOULDER. SHE TURNED THE KEY OFF AND THEN WAS ABLE TO RESTART THE CAR. A FEW WEEKS LATER IT HAPPENED TO ME ON A COUNTRY ROAD- WITHOUT ANY WARNING, THE CAR COMPLETELY SHUT OFF WHILE GOING ABOUT 40 MPH. I TOOK IT TO A MECHANIC. THEY DROVE IT OVER A HUNDRED MILES AND COULDN'T FIND ANYTHING WRONG WITH IT. IN ANOTHER WEEK OR SO, IT DID IT TWICE IN ONE DAY, BOTH CITY DRIVING IN HEAVY TRAFFIC. I'D PUT ON THE HAZARD LIGHTS, COME TO A STOP AND RESTART THE CAR. TOOK IT BACK TO THE MECHANIC. THEY DROVE IT ANOTHER 75 MILES WITH THE SAME LACK OF DIAGNOSIS. THE NEXT TIME IT HAPPENED I WAS ON AN EMPTY STRETCH OF OPEN ROAD GOING ABOUT 40, AND I WAS ABLE TO JUST SHIFT INTO NEUTRAL WHILE COASTING AND TURN THE KEY OFF AND BACK ON TO RESTART THE CAR WHILE NEVER ACTUALLY STOPPING IT. REALIZING THAT THIS WAS ACTUALLY BETTER THAN STOPPING TRAFFIC AND POTENTIALLY CAUSING AN ACCIDENT, THIS IS HOW I HAVE RESTARTED THE CAR AND RESUMED ACCELERATION IN THE SEVERAL TIMES IT HAS DONE IT SINCE. BUT I AM A VERY SKILLED DRIVER- SHIFTING INTO NEUTRAL AND RESTARTING THE ENGINE WHILE COASTING IN TRAFFIC IS DEFINITELY NOT A SOLUTION FOR THE AVERAGE PERSON HAVING THIS PROBLEM, AND I AM NOT ADVISING ANYONE TO DO IT. I'VE PUT A TON OF MILES ON THIS CAR QUICKLY, SO OTHER PEOPLE WITH 2009 FOCUSES MAY NOT HAVE HAD THIS PROBLEM. BUT MORE WILL LIKELY BEGIN TO EXPERIENCE IT AS THEIR CARS GET OLDER. PLEASE RECALL. *TR
WHILE DRIVING AT A STEADY SPEED THE CAR LOST POWER, THE TACH DROPPED TO 1,000 RPM. THE YELLOW WRENCH LIGHT CAME ON. CAR STARTED SLOWING DOWN. PRESSED ACCELERATOR AND NOTHING HAPPENED. CAR WOULD NOT RESPOND AT ALL. PULLED OFF THE ROAD INTO A PARKING LOT. TOOK CAR OUT OF GEAR AND THE IDLE STARTED TO VARY FROM 500 TO 1500. SHUT THE CAR OFF. A FEW SECONDS LATER STARTED IT UP AND WAS ABLE TO DRIVE HOME WITHOUT INCIDENT. IT HAS OCCURRED ON FOUR MORE OCCASIONS SINCE THEN. MOST RECENTLY 2 WEEKS AGO. *TR
ON THE FREEWAY GOING APPROX 45 MPH IN THE POURING RAIN; CHANGED LANES, BRAKE A BIT TO 35. HAPPENED AS I SPED BACK UP, ORANGE WRENCH APPEARED AND CAR BEGAN TO SLOW DOWN TO ABOUT 10 MPH TILL I GOT TO A SERVICE STATION DIRECTLY OFF THE FREEWAY. SAT FOR ABOUT 8 MIN. STARTED UP AND DROVE HOME WITH NO INCIDENT. TWO DAYS LATER HAPPENED AGAIN. THIS TIME INCHING ALONG TRYING TO CHANGE FREEWAYS. GOT TO EMG LANE AND SAT ABOUT FIVE MIN. STARTED UP AND GOT HOME WITH NO PROBLEM. ONLY 16 MILES BETWEEN HOME AND WORK - ALL FREEWAY. *TR
LAST YEAR DURING THE SUMMER I WOULD BE DRIVING AND THE ENGINE AND WRENCH LIGHTS WOULD COME ON AND I WOULD LOSE POWER. PRESSING THE ACCELERATOR DID NOTHING, NO RESPONSE. THIS HAS CONTINUED TO HAPPEN OCCASIONALLY BUT IN THE LAST COUPLE OF WEEKS IT HAS BEEN A DAILY THING AND IT HAPPENS NUMEROUS TIMES EACH DAY. I LIVE IN VIRGINIA AND IT HAS NOT HAPPENED IN THE WINTER OR EARLY SPRING WHEN THE TEMPS ARE COOLER. I DRIVE ABOUT 60 MILES ROUND TRIP AND THE MAJORITY OF IT IS ON THE HIGHWAY. THIS IS A DANGEROUS SITUATION. I GET TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD AND TURN THE CAR OFF, LET IT SET FOR A MINUTE OR LESS AND THEN START IT AGAIN AND IT RUNS. I DON'T HAVE TO LET IT STAY OFF FOR ANY AMOUNT OF TIME, I CAN START IT SHORTLY AFTER SHUTTING IT OFF WITH NO PROBLEM. THE TACH JUMPS UP BETWEEN 2000-3000 RPMS AND THEN SETTLES DOWN. I DON'T HAVE MY FOOT ON THE GAS WHEN THIS HAPPENS. SOMETIMES IT WON'T HAPPEN AGAIN FOR THE REST OF THE TRIP BUT SOMETIMES I DRIVE ONLY A COUPLE MILES BEFORE THE SITUATION REPEATS. WHEN I'M PARKED WITH THE CAR RUNNING I CAN WATCH THE TACH FALTER AND DROP BELOW 1000 RPMS BUT IT CATCHES ITSELF AND RETURNS TO NORMAL. THIS IS GETTING OLD AND IS NERVE WRACKING WHILE DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY WAITING FOR IT TO HAPPEN. *TR
THIS HAPPENED ON TWO SEPARATE OCCASIONS. THE FIRST OCCASION, MY WIFE WAS DRIVING THE FOCUS AT AROUND 50 MPH, WHEN ALL OF THE SUDDEN THE CAR STOPPED ACCELLERATING (IT DIDN'T STALL) AND THE WRENCH PANEL LIGHT CAME ON. LUCKILY SHE WASN'T IN AN ACCIDENT, SO SHE PULLED OVER AND RESTARTED THE CAR AND IT RAN FINE, AND THE LIGHT WAS OFF. THREE WEEKS LATER WE WERE DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY AT 75 MPH WHEN THE EXACT SAME THING HAPPENED, THE CAR JUST STOPPED ACCELERATING, THE WRENCH LIGHT CAME ON, AND AGAIN WE WERE LUCKY WE WEREN'T IN AN ACCIDENT AND WERE ABLE TO PULL OFF THE ROAD. WE RESTARTED THE CAR AND IT WAS FINE AGAIN. AT THIS POINT I CALLED FORD AND THEY AGREED TO TAKE A LOOK AT IT AND PROVIDE ME A RENTAL CAR. AFTER A WEEK, THEY SAID THEY THOUGHT IT WAS A THROTTLE BODY, BUT WERE UNABLE TO DIAGNOSE IT BECAUSE THEY NEEDED TO HAVE IT HAPPEN TO THEM. I TOLD THEM IT WAS UNREASONABLE BECAUSE IT HAPPENED THREE WEEKS APART, AND THE CHANCES OF IT HAPPENING WERE SLIM WITHIN A WEEK. I WAS TRYING TO URGE FORD TO COVER THIS SINCE THE CAR ONLY HAD 54K MILES ON IT, AND IT WAS DANGEROUS TO DRIVE. THEY SAID SINCE THEY COULDN'T DIAGNOSE IT, THEY COULDN'T FIX IT, AND EVEN IF THEY COULD DIAGNOSE IT, IT WOULDN'T BE COVERED SINCE ITS NOT UNDER THE POWERTRAIN WARRANTY. I FEEL LIKE THIS IS A SAFETY ISSUE THAT THEY ARE VERY AWARE OF, AND THE FACT THAT THEY ARE 99.9% SURE ITS A THROTTLE BODY (THE DEALERSHIP EMPLOYEES TOLD ME THEY'RE GETTING TONS OF THROTTLE BODY REPAIRS COMING IN AND THE PARTS ARE ON BACK ORDER), THEY SHOULD BE RESPONSIBLE TO FIX THEM FOR THE SAFETY OF THE CONSUMER. THERE WAS NO MAINTENANCE WE COULD HAVE DONE TO PREVENT THESE DANGEROUS SITUATIONS FROM HAPPENING. NOW I HAVE TO FIND A WAY TO PAY FOR THIS REPAIR ON MY OWN SO MY WIFE CAN DRIVE A SAFE VEHICLE. SO FORD'S DEFECTIVE PART HAS ALREADY PUT MY WIFE AND I IN DANGER, AND NOW IS COSTING ME MONEY I DON'T HAVE! *TR
CAR WENT INTO LIMP HOME MODE (WRENCH LIGHT) WHILE PULLING INTO TRAFFIC, SUDDEN LOSS OF POWER ALMOST LED TO ACCIDENT. MY TWO YEAR OLD WAS IN THE VEHICLE, WITH HER SIDE EXPOSED TO ONCOMING TRAFFIC WHEN THE CAR LOST CONNECTION BETWEEN THE ACCELERATOR AND THROTTLE. RETURNED HOME IMMEDIATELY. WENT OUT TO START IT LATER, NO WARNING LIGHTS, RAN FINE. 2 DAYS LATER, IT WENT INTO LIMP HOME MODE ON THE FREEWAY, THIS TIME CEL CAME ON. CODE P2135, INDICATING A PROBLEM WITH THE THROTTLE BODY. PART REPLACED, PROBLEM HASN'T RECURRED. RESEARCH ONLINE INDICATES THIS IS A KNOWN PROBLEM (THERE IS A TSB). I WOULD REGARD IT AS A SAFETY ISSUE BASED ON THE FAILURE RATES OF WIDESPREAD (ALBEIT ANECDOTAL) EVIDENCE. THOUGH IT ISN'T UNCONTROLLED ACCELERATION, IT STILL IS A LOSS OF CONTROL; THIS SYSTEM IS DRIVE-BY-WIRE, THE SAME AS TOYOTA. I WOULD THINK IT SHOULD BE GIVEN CONSIDERATION FOR RECALL. CAR RANDOMLY GOES INTO "LIMP MODE" WHILE DRIVING, USUALLY AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS. WRENCH LIGHT GOES ON INDICATING A THROTTLE BODY ISSUE. THIS HAS OCCURRED ABOUT 10 TIMES NOW OVER THE PAST FEW MONTHS. AFTER TURNING CAR OFF, THEN ON AGAIN, THERE IS NO LONGER A LIGHT AND CAR RUNS FINE. TWICE I'VE TAKEN THE CAR IN AFTER SUCH AN OCCURRENCE AND NEITHER THE DEALERSHIP OR LOCAL MECHANIC COULD FIND ANY INDICATION OF A ERROR LIGHT. *TR

I TURNED THE CAR OFF THEN BACK ON AGAIN. I WAS ABLE TO DRIVE TO WORK THE REST OF THE WAY AT 75 MPH. I WAS ALSO ABLE TO RETURN HOME 50 MILES SAFELY. LATER THAT NIGHT I WAS DRIVING ACROSS THE NEIGHBORHOOD AND THE SAME PROBLEM HAPPENED AGAIN AT 20 MPH AFTER JUST A BLOCK OF DRIVING. PURCHASED VEHICLE LESS THAN A YEAR AGO, FROM A DEALERSHIP. NEW TIRES WERE PUT ON AT THAT TIME. MILEAGE WHEN PURCHASED WAS 29000. WHILE DRIVING ON SNOW AND ICY ROADS IT WOULD WOBBLE AND GET SQUIRRELLY, WHICH I ATTRIBUTED IT TO THE LIGHTNESS OF THE VEHICLE. WE OWN A 2009 FORD FOCUS. RIGHT OUT OF WARRANTY IN JUNE OF 2012 MY HUSBAND WAS DRIVING THE CAR ON THE HIGHWAY, APPROX. 70 MILES PER HOUR WHEN THE CAR DECELERATED DOWN TO ABOUT 40 AND WOULD NOT GO BEYOND THAT. WE TOOK IT TO THE DEALERSHIP, THEY CHARGED US FULL PRICE FOR A THROTTLE BODY REPLACEMENT. I KNOW THAT OTHER MAKES IN 2009 WERE EXTENDED ON THE WARRANTY FOR THROTTLE BODY PROBLEMS. I WANTED TO REPORT THIS SO THAT WE CAN GET REIMBURSED. *TR

AFTER TRYING MANY TIMES, THE KEY WAS FINALLY ABLE TO BE INSERTED INTO THE IGNITION TO START THE VEHICLE. TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2009 FORD FOCUS. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 55 MPH, THE CONTACT NOTICED A HUMMING SOUND COMING FROM THE REAR OF THE VEHICLE. ADDITIONALLY, THE CONTACT NOTICED A VIBRATION IN THE VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER FOR DIAGNOSTIC TESTING. THE TECHNICIAN STATED THAT THE DRIVER AND PASSENGER REAR TIRES WOULD HAVE TO BE REPLACED AND AN ALIGNMENT WOULD HAVE TO BE PERFORMED. AFTER THE REPAIR, THE FAILURE CONTINUED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN BACK TO THE DEALER BUT THE TECHNICIAN WAS UNABLE TO DIAGNOSE THE FAILURE. THE REAR TIRES WERE REPLACED TWICE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE TIRES WERE WEARING EXCESSIVELY FROM THE INSIDE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 25,000.
AS I WAS DRIVING ON THE FREEWAY AT 70 MPH IN THE MIDDLE LANE, THE VEHICLE LOST ACCELERATION POWER AND THE "WRENCH" LIGHT CAME ON. WHILE THE CAR WAS SLOWING, I HAD TO MAKE SEVERAL LANE CHANGES ACROSS HEAVY, FAST MOVING TRAFFIC BEFORE I WAS ABLE TO STOP ALONG THE SHOULDER. UPON RESTARTING THE CAR, THE LIGHT WAS NO LONGER ON AND THE CAR RESUMED NORMAL ACCELERATION. THE VEHICLE IS CURRENTLY BEING ASSESSED AT THE DEALERSHIP, AS THIS ISSUE COULD RESULT IN A MAJOR COLLISION IF IT WERE TO RECUR, POTENTIALLY CAUSING THE CAR TO STALL IN HIGH-SPEED TRAFFIC WITHOUT THE ABILITY TO GET TO THE SHOULDER. *JB

ON A SATURDAY, MAY 5, 12 I WAS DRIVING HOME AFTER DRIVING ABOUT 30 MILES. WE CAME ON OUR ST. PICTURE OF A WRENCH CAME ON. CAR STARTED TO PUTT PUTT AND FINALLY MADE IT INTO DRIVEWAY. TURNED OFF ENGINE. LOOKED UP IN MANUAL AND SAID THROTTLE CONTROL TRANSMISSION. CALL DEALER IMMED. THE ONLY DEALER OPENED W/IN MILES AND AAA BOUGHT IT THERE. DEALER CHECKED COMPUTER STUFF,UNABLE TO DUPLICATE PROBLEM. NO CODES IN MODULES. PERSON SAID SUSPECT CUSTOMER HIT TCS BUTTON BY ACCIDENT. EMPLOYEE TOLD CUSTOMER EVERYTHING LOOKED FINE AND I COULD TAKE CAR HOME. I PAID FOR 1/2 HR OF WORK WHEN THERE WAS SUPPOSEDLY AN HR. OF CHECKING DONE. HOWEVER SINCE NOTHING FOUND I WAS ONLY CHARGED 1/2 HR. PICKED CAR DROVE APPROXIMATELY 20+ MILES HOME AND IT WAS FINE. SUNDAY- DROVE APPROXIMATELY 40 MILES WITHOUT INCIDENT. WRENCH CAME ON AND I PULLED INTO PARKING LOT. I TURNED ENGINE OFF WAITED AND TURNED ENGINE ON. I DROVE HOME WITHOUT INCIDENT. IF I WAS ON A HIGHWAY IT WOULD HAVE CAUSED AN ACCIDENT.
