MY DAUGHTER HAS BEEN STRANDED TWICE BY THE VEHICLE EITHER GOING INTO NEUTRAL OR THE TRANSMISSION DISENGAGING. BOTH TIMES SHE WAS ON A HIGHWAY IN TRAFFIC. SHE WAS FORTUNATE TO NOT BE REAR ENDED. MULTIPLE ATTEMPTS TO FIX THE ISSUE & FINALLY BEING TOLD THE TRANSMISSION NEEDS TO BE REPLACED AT A VALUE OF WHAT THE CAR IS WORTH FUNCTIONING. IF THE NEW TRANSMISSION IS OF THE SAME DESIGN; FAILURE APPEARS TO BE A GUARANTEE. A FORD DEALERSHIP TOLD USE TO LET THE CAR REST IN PEACE.
WHILE DRIVING IN TOWN, THE CAR STARTED TO SHUTTER AND WOULDN'T ADVANCE OUT OF FIRST GEAR. WE WERE TURNING A CORNER. SHUDDER, TRANSMISSION SERVICE LIGHT CAME ON.
JUST A WEEK AFTER BUYING MY CAR, THE STEREO STARTED TO MAKE A VERY LOUD SCRATCHING AND POPPING NOISE AND THEN IT WOULD CUT OFF AND NO SOUND WOULD WORK. I TRIED TO MASTER RESET IT A FEW TIMES AND IT IS STILL HAVING THE ISSUE. NOW THE NOISE IT HAS BEEN MAKING IS SO LOUD AND PIERCING THAT IT MAKES ME FEEL LIKE MY EARS ARE GOING TO BLEED. I HAVE LOOKED UP WAYS TO STOP THIS PROBLEM AND I NOTICED THAT MANY PEOPLE WITH THE SAME CARE AS ME, HAVE REPORTED THIS EXACT SAME ISSUE.

THE CONTACT ALSO STATED THAT THE FAILURE WAS EVIDENT RIGHT AFTER THE VEHICLE WAS REFUELED OR IF THE FUEL IN THE VEHICLE WAS LOW. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE VEHICLE WAS INCLUDED IN NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 18V735000 (FUEL SYSTEM, GASOLINE). THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE FAILURE WAS INTERMITTENT. THE DEALER AND MANUFACTURER WERE NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 171,000.
I HAVE A 2012 FORD FOCUS THAT HAS HAD NUMEROUS PROBLEMS WITH THE CLUTCH/TRANSMISSION. I'VE HAD THIS ISSUE REPLACED NUMEROUS TIMES, AND I AM STILL EXPERIENCING THE SAME PROBLEM WITH THE CAR. THE CAR CONSTANTLY SHUTTERS UPON ACCELERATING, HESITATES WHILE DRIVING AFTER STOPPING AT A RED LIGHT/STOP SIGN AND HAD A COMPLETE TRANSMISSION MALFUNCTION AS WELL. I HAVE HAD THIS ISSUE OCCUR ABOUT 9 TIMES WITH THIS CAR SINCE BUYING IT IN 2012. NEEDLESS TO SAY THAT I NO LONGER FEEL SAFE DRIVING THIS CAR ANYMORE, AND IT MAKES ME SICK SEEING THAT FORD WON'T STAND BEHIND THEIR PRODUCT.
MY FORD FOCUS HAS BEEN HAVING ELECTRICAL ISSUES FOR SEVERAL MONTHS NOW. I HAVE ASKED FORD TO LOOK AT MY CAR AND THEY STATED IT WILL BE $150 TO DO THAT. I DO NOT HAVE THE MONEY. MY MAJOR CONCERN IS THE AIR BAGS. MY LIGHT HAS BEEN COMING OFF AND ON AND I DO NOT THINK THE AIR BAGS WILL EMPLOY. I HAVE SEEN SEVERAL COMPLAINTS ON YOUR WEB SITE AND ONLINE AS WELL. SOME CARS HAVE BEEN IN ACCIDENTS AND HAVING THE SAME ISSUE AND AIRBAGS DID NOT EMPLOY. I AM TERRIFIED THIS WILL HAPPEN AND NOT SAVE A LIFE. I HAVE AN AUTISTIC 13 YR OLD THAT RIDES IN THE PASSENGER SIDE AND MYSELF ARE VERY CONCERNED!. ALSO I HAVE BEEN FOLLOWING ONLINE A BIG ISSUE WITH THE ELECTRICAL IN THE MIDDLE ISLE WHICH CONTROLS THE RADIO AND AIRBAGS AND WHATEVER OTHER WARNING LIGHTS AND CONTROLS MAY BE. MY RADIO SHORTED OUT WITH LOUD POPPING AND SRCREEHING NOSE THEN BLEW OUT. I THINK THE ELECTRICAL IS ALL BAD IN THE UNIT WHICH MAY BE EFFECTING THE AIRBAGS. PLEASE I AM ASKING FOR A VERY CONCERNED SAFETY CONCERN TO SAVE A LIFE REGARDING THE AIRBAGS PLEASE LOOK INTO A RECALL REGARDING THIS. I AM NOT THE FIRST ONE THO COMPLAIN ABOUT THIS. I PURCHASED MY 2012 FORD FOCUS 2 YEARS AGO FROM A USED FORD DEALERSHIP. THE FOLLOWING DAY I NOTICED MY TRANSMISSION SLIPPING AND THAT IT WOULD SLIP INTO NEUTRAL. I CALLED THE DEALERSHIP 12 HOURS LATER AND THEY INFORMED ME THIS WAS NORMAL AND NOT TO WORRY ABOUT IT. I CONTINUALLY STRUGGLE TO ACCELERATE IN TRAFFIC AND I HAVE CAUGHT MYSELF SLIPPING BACKWARDS WHEN IDLE ON A HILL.
TRANSMISSION BOLTS FOWARD AND ALSO LUNGES AT LOW SPEED . WAS PARKING ON A STREET ALMOST HIT A CAR BECAUSE IT BOLTED FOWARD
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2012 FORD FOCUS. WHILE DRIVING VARIOUS SPEEDS, THE VEHICLE JERKED, LUNGED FORWARD, AND LOST POWER WITHOUT WARNING. THE CONTACT EXITED THE VEHICLE AND PUSHED IT OVER TO THE SHOULDER OF THE ROAD. THE CONTACT ATTEMPTED TO RESTART THE VEHICLE AND IT TURNED ON, BUT WAS TOWED BY AAA TO BUTLER COUNTY FORD (400 S MAIN ST, BUTLER, PA 16001, (724) 287-2766). THE DEALER DIAGNOSED THAT THE CONTROL MODULE FAILED AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED, BUT THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE AND PROVIDED CASE NUMBER: CAS22179536. THE MANUFACTURER ALSO EXTENDED THE WARRANTIES UNTIL 150,000 MILES. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 91,000.
VEHICLE IS SHUDDERING, STALLING, AND REFUSING TO ACCELERATE UNDER POWER
TRANSMISSION SHUTTERS UPON TAKEOFF. STRUGGLES TO FIND THE RIGHT GEAR ON TAKEOFF AND DOWNSHIFTING WHEN DRIVING. AT TIMES HAS FAILED TO GO INTO REVERSE WHEN STATIONARY OR OVERDRIVE WHEN DRIVING. ENGINE LIGHT GOES ON AND THEN OFF. PROBLEM HAS BEEN GOING ON FOR YEARS WITH ONLY MINOR IMPROVEMENTS FROM DEALER FIXES.
MY 2012 FORD FOCUS SHAKES AND SHUTTERS WHEN DEPRESSING THE ACCELERATOR. WHEN I BOUGHT THIS VEHICLE FROM THE DEALER IN 2015 I WAS TOLD THAT BEFORE I TOOK IT HOME THAT THEY NEEDED TO REPLACE A SENSOR IN THE TRANSMISSION. AFTER DRIVING VEHICLE FOR SEVERAL YEARS I NOTICED THIS VEHICLE CONTINUED TO SHUTTER AND SHAKE AND ALMOST STALL OUT AT TIMES OF ACCELERATION. I TALKED TO A SERVICE SPECIALIST AT THE FORD DEALER AND WAS TOLD THAT DUE TO THE POWER SHIFT TRANSMISSION INSTALLED IN THIS VEHICLE THAT YOU JUST NEED TO "BABY IT" ON TAKE OFF. THIS KINDA OF HELPED A LITTLE BUT YOU MUST BE CONSCIOUS OF THIS CONSTANTLY. I STILL OWN THIS VEHICLE. I USUALLY DRIVE IT AND PREFER NOT TO HAVE MY WIFE OR KIDS DRIVE AS I AM WORRIED THE SPUTTERING MAY CAUSE AN ACCIDENT. THESE TRANSMISSIONS SHOULD HAVE BEEN RECALLED. I HAVE ONLY RECENTLY LEARNED THAT THIS IS A WIDER PROBLEM FOR ALL FORD FOCUSES OF THAT TIME PERIOD. ALWAYS BEEN A FORD GUY BUT CAN SAY I AM A LITTLE DISAPPOINTED HOW FORD HAS HANDLED THIS ISSUE. DON'T LIKE HAVING A VEHICLE THAT YOU MUST BE CAUTIOUS ON DRIVING IN FEAR THAT IT MAY CAUSE AN ACCIDENT. COME ON FORD YOU GUYS CAN DO BETTER THAN THAT.
MY 2012 FORD FOCUS WITH DUAL CLUTCH, DPS-6 TRANSMISSION HAS ON MULTIPLE OCCASIONS UNCLUTCHED THE TRANSMISSION WHILE ATTEMPTING TO ACCELERATE FROM A STOP TO MAKE A LEFT TURN ACROSS A BUSY ROAD. THE UNEXPECTED LACK OF ACCELERATION DUE TO THE TRANSMISSION FAILING TO TRANSMIT POWER TO THE WHEELS HAS NEARLY CAUSED MY WIFE AND I TO BE HIT BY ONCOMING TRAFFIC DESPITE STARTING THE TURN WITH ADEQUATE ROOM TO CROSS TRAFFIC AND ACCELERATE. THANKFULLY, ADEQUATE SPACE AND REACTION BY ONCOMING DRIVERS HAS PREVENTED A WRECK. FORD HAS, ON MULTIPLE OCCASIONS, FLASHED THE COMPUTER AND REPLACED PARTS AND DID EXTEND THE WARRANTY ON THE TRANSMISSION SLIGHTLY. HOWEVER, THE TRANSMISSION IS SLIGHTLY NOW OUT OF WARRANTY AND CONTINUES TO HAVE THE SAME PROBLEMS WITH FAILING TO ACCELERATE AND THEN VIOLENTLY SLAMMING INTO GEAR. FORD HAS REFUSED TO COVER FURTHER REPAIR OF THE DEFECTIVE TRANSMISSION DESPITE CLEAR EVIDENCE OF THE CONTINUED DEFECTIVENESS OF THE TRANSMISSION.

PURCHASED MAY 2019. POWER STEERING GOES OUT INTERMITTENTLY WHEN DRIVING AND VARIED SPEEDS ALSO ON STARTUP. SOMETIMES IT WILL COME BACK AFTER RESTART AND SOMETIMES NOT. ISSUE HAS STARTED TO BECOME MORE FREQUENT. TOOK TO LOCAL DEALER 7/24/19 FOR RECALL 18S32 IN WHICH PCM WAS UPDATED ALSO TRANSMISSION CONTROL MODULE WAS CHECKED BUT NO WORK DONE. DEALER SAID THERE WERE NO OTHER RECALLS OR TSB'S.THIS MORNING WHEN STARTED HAD NO POWER STEERING FOR 10 SECONDS THEN KICKED IN. I CALLED FORD CUSTOMER SERVICE AT 866-436-7332 TWICE AND WENT THROUGH THE MENUS TO BE PLACED ON HOLD FOR 20 MINUTES BEFORE I WAS DISCONNECTED. ONLY A MATTER OF TIME UNTIL AN ACCIDENT WILL HAPPEN, LET US PRAY NO ONE IS INJURED OR KILLED DUE TO THIS KNOWN ISSUE. *TR
I FEW DAY AFTER GETTING THIS CAR I FELT A HESATATS GOING IN TO 2 GEAR SHORTLY LATER I TOOK IT HAD IT DIAGNOSED BUT THEY SAID IT WOULD BE ABOUT $70 UNLESS IT WAS A RECALL ON IT SO THEY DID THE SAID THE TCM WAS OUT AND IT HAS A RECALL ON IT BUT ALSO I NEED A CLUTCH AND THAT WAS $4000. SO THEY FIXED IT AND IT'S IT ALL GOOD NOW ABOUT 2 NO. LATER I WAS STOPPED AT A RED LIGHT WITH A SUV IN FRONT OF ME I HAD MY FOOT ON THE BRAKE AND IT STARTED FELLOW WRITING IN THAT SHOP FOR YOU MADE ME HIT THE SUV IN FRONT.OF ME, IT STARTED DOING THE OTHER STUFF AGAIN I FELLED MY GAS UP AND TRIED TO START IT BUT IT WOULD START I SEAT THE A LIL THE TRIED IT AGAIN IF STARED JUST WHEN I STARTED DRIVING IT WAS JERKING REALLY BAD I STOP AT THE CLOSEST PLACE I CAN GET A DIAGNOSTIC BRAND ON IT THE SAID IT WAS SOMETHING IN THE GAS TANK SO I TOOK IT BACK TO THE FORD PLACE CAUSE THE WAS A RECALL ON SOMETHING TO DO WITH THE GAS TANK THEY FIXED IT ONES AGAIN BUT SHORTLY AFTER THAT MORE STARTED GOING WRONG THE HAZARD LIGHT WOULDN'T WARM, PUT IT REVERSE IT WOULD DO ANYTHING BUT SET THERE AND RAISE MY RPM'S, BUT THEN IT STARTED WORKING AGAIN SO WE KEPT ON DRIVING IT, IT WOULD JUST DO ALL THESE THINGS OFF AND ON OTHER THAN THE HAZARD LIGHT NEVER WORKED AGAIN , DRIVING DOWN THE ROAD WANT ABOUT 5MILES IT WAS RUNNING HOT SO I PULLED OVER AND KILLED IT AND CALLED MY DAD HE CHECKED ALL THE FLUIDS THE WHERE FINE BUT I TRIED TO START IT IT WOULDN'T START SEAT THE A LIL THE IT STARTED SO I TOOK IT TO THE SHOP I ALWAYS USED ON SOME OF MY CARS THE SAID IT WAS MY FAN IT WAS $400. GOING DOWN THE HWY 70MP IT STOPED ACCELERATING THE RPMS WENT DOWN TO LITTLE PAST ONE LIKE I WAS SITTING IDLING PULLED OVER ON THE SIDE OF THE HIGHWAY WITHOUT CAUSING AN ACCIDENT I HAD TO TURN THE CAR OFF THEN I RESTARTED AND THEN SHIFTING DOWN THE ROAD AGAIN BUT STILL HAVEN'T ALL KINDS OF PROBLEMS THIS CAR IS PROBABLY A DEATH TRAP
MY WIFE PURCHASED HER FOCUS NEW IN 2012. WE HAVE RAISED CONCERNS ABOUT TRANSMISSION ISSUES EVER SINCE, ALWAYS BEING TOLD THERE WAS NOTHING WRONG. FINALLY, THE TRANSMISSION WENT OUT. WE HAD IT TOWED TO THE DEALERSHIP AND HAVE BEEN TOLD THAT OUR CAR DOESN'T QUALIFY FOR THE EXTENDED WARRANTY BECAUSE SOMETHING BROKE BEFORE THE COVERED PIECE. WHILE THINKING OVER OUR OPTIONS, AN ARTICLE CAME OUT IN THE DETROIT FREE PRESS RELATED TO THIS VERY ISSUE. THE DEALERSHIP HAS ASKED THEIR LOCAL REP TO GET AHOLD OF ME. HE HAS NOT AND IS NOW IGNORING VOICEMAIL AND EMAIL MESSAGES FROM THE DEALERSHIP. I HAVE CALLED FORD DIRECTLY AND WAS TOLD I WOULD GET A CALL BACK. I HAVE NOT HEARD FROM THEM AFTER 2 ATTEMPTS.
AFTER RECEIVING RECALL INFORMATION, REGARDING RECALL 18S32, THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALERSHIP FOR REPAIR IN MID-NOVEMBER 2018. THE DEALERSHIP ADVISED THAT THE RECALL WAS REMEDIED. IN MAY OF 2019 THE VEHICLE DISPLAYED SIGNS THAT THE ISSUE WAS NOT RESOLVED. FOR EXAMPLE, USING EXCESSIVE AMOUNTS OF GASOLINE AND EMPTYING THE TANK WHILE THE GAUGE WAS SHOWING FUEL WAS PRESENT; ALSO, THE VEHICLE WOULD STOP MOVING WHILE ENGINE WAS STILL RUNNING. AFTER BEING DIAGNOSED BY TWO DIFFERENT DEALERSHIPS, THE MOST PRESENT DIAGNOSIS IS THAT RECALL 18S32 IS THE ISSUE AND NOW FORD IS REFUSING TO FIX THE VEHICLE. THE CAR HAD TO BE TOWED FIVE HOURS FROM THE LOCATION, DUE TO SAFETY CONCERNS, TO A DEALERSHIP WHO DIAGNOSED THAT THE RECALL HAD NOT BEEN RESOLVED ONLY TO BE INFORMED THAT FORD REFUSED TO COVER THE EXPENSE OF THE RECALL.
STEERING ASSIST FAULT WARNING AND POWER STEERING LOCKS UP. CAR LEFT ME STRANDED WITH MY 2 KIDS. AFTER STARTING THE CAR, POWER STEERING ASSIST FAULT LIGHT POPS UP AND STEERING IS LOCKED. RESTARTED AND IT FIXED. WENT TO MY NEXT LOCATION AND STARTED THE CAR AND NO STEERING WHATSOEVER. THANK GOODNESS I WAS NOT DRIVING ON THE FREEWAY WHEN THE STEERING WENT OUT. FORD SHOULD BE OBLIGATED TO FIX THIS DANGEROUS ISSUE.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2012 FORD FOCUS ELECTRIC. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 25 MPH, THE VEHICLE HESITATED TO SWITCH GEARS. THE VEHICLE WAS DRIVEN TO MAHWAH FORD (55 FRANKLIN TPK, MAHWAH, NJ 07430) WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE CLUTCH ASSEMBLY NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 26,000.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2012 FORD FOCUS. WHILE ATTEMPTING TO DRIVE THE VEHICLE, THE CHECK ENGINE WARNING INDICATOR ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHO DIAGNOSED THAT THE CPA05 VAPOR CANISTER PURGE SOLENOID FAILED AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE CONTACT CALLED QUICK LANE AT BRIARWOOD FORD (LOCATED AT 7070 E MICHIGAN AVE, SALINE, MI 48176, (734) 429-8888) AND WAS INFORMED THAT THERE WOULD BE A DIAGNOSTIC FEE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT TAKEN TO A DEALER AND WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS PREVIOUSLY REPAIRED PER NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 18V735000 (FUEL SYSTEM, GASOLINE), BUT THE REMEDY WAS UNSUCCESSFUL. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE AND DID NOT ASSIST. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 122,034.
BOUGHT THE 2012 FORD FOCUS USED IN 2016. IT SHUDDERED WHEN ENTERING THE ROADWAY AFTER STOPPING AND ALSO WHEN GOING UPHILL. DEALER SAID THE CAR HAD TO GET USED TO ME AS A DRIVER. AFTER MANY COMPLAINTS, THEY DID SOMETHING NON-MECHANICAL TO ADJUST IT. REPROGRAMMING, MAYBE. ONCE IT WAS OUT OF ITS LIMITED WARRANTY, THEY SAID IT NEEDED A NEW CLUTCH KIT, WHICH WAS $1500. THE SHUDDERING STOPPED. LAST MONTH, SHORTLY AFTER LEAVING MY DRIVEWAY, THE CAR JERKED FORWARD AND THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON. I PULLED INTO A NEIGHBOR'S DRIVEWAY TO TURN AROUND AND GO BACK HOME AND IT WOULDN'T GO IN REVERSE. HAD IT TOWED TO THE DEALER. THE TCM WAS REPLACED. THIS MONTH, I PULLED INTO MY DRIVEWAY, PUT THE CAR IN PARK, WENT TO TAKE THE KEYS OUT OF THE IGNITION AND SAW A MESSAGE THAT SAID THE CAR WAS NOT IN PARK. OK. THE ENGINE WAS OFF, I COULD REMOVE THE KEYS FROM THE IGNITION. THE GEAR SHIFT LEVER WAS IN PARK. THE DASHBOARD DISPLAY SAID THE CAR WAS IN DRIVE. I TOOK MY FOOT OFF THE BRAKE AND THE CAR STARTED DRIFTING DOWN THE DRIVEWAY. I PUT THE PARKING BRAKE ON. THE CAR WOULD NOT START. HAD IT TOWED TO THE DEALER. THEY SAID THE SHIFT LINKAGE HAD COME LOOSE FROM SOCKET. THIS IS THE WORST CAR I'VE EVER OWNED. THERE IS NO WARNING THAT A PROBLEM IS ABOUT TO OCCUR. THE CAR JUST CEASES TO FUNCTION. I'M VERY LUCKY THAT I WAS IN MY DRIVEWAY, OR CLOSE TO HOME WHEN THE CAR DIED BOTH TIMES. I'M AFRAID TO DRIVE THIS CAR AND HAVE 2 YEARS LEFT TO PAY IT OFF.

THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO THE CONTACT'S HOME. THE CONTACT'S FATHER LINKED THE VEHICLE UP TO HIS DIAGNOSTIC MACHINE, WHICH INDICATED THAT THE TRANSMISSION NEEDED TO BE REPROGRAMMED. THE CONTACT CALLED CHENOWETH FORD (1564 E PIKE ST, CLARKSBURG, WV 26301) AND WAS INFORMED THAT THERE WAS NO RECALL FOR THE FAILURE; THEREFORE, THE CONTACT WOULD HAVE TO PAY FOR THE REPAIR. VEHICLE STALLED IN AN INTERSECTION WHILE TURNING AFTER A TRANSMISSION WARNING CAME ON HUD. ATTEMPTED TO RESTART AND IT WOULD NOT TURN OVER. THE DISPLAY SHOWED THAT THE CAR WAS IN DRIVE, EVEN THOUGH I HAD PULLED OVER TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD AND PUT IT IN PARK. IT TOOK ME UNPLUGGING THE BATTERY TO BE ABLE TO RESTART THE VEHICLE AND GET TO A SAFE PLACE. THE VEHICLE HAD VERY LITTLE PULLING POWER AND STRUGGLED TO GET OUT OF THE FLOW OF TRAFFIC. THE DEALERSHIP HAS DIAGNOSED THE PROBLEM AS THE TRANSMISSION CONTROL MODULE AND THE TRANSMISSION, WHICH HAS COME TO LIGHT RECENTLY AS FAULTY AND KNOWN TO FAIL

DROVE MY CAR TO A DESTINATION AND WHEN LEAVING, I GOT IN MY CAR, STARTED THE ENGINE AND WHEN TRYING TO LEAVE, MY STEERING WAS EXTREMELY ALTERED. TRIED TO GO IN REVERSE THINKING IT MAY BE IN A RUT. SAME ISSUE, STEERING WAS NEXT TO IMPOSSIBLE. TURNED CAR OFF TO EXPLORE UNDER THE HOOD. NO POWER STEERING FLUID UNDER THE HOOD. AFTER SEARCHING THE OWNERS MANUEL AND LOOKING ON LINE SITTING IN 100 DEGREE HEAT I ATTEMPTED AGAIN AND STEERING WAS FINE. IT HAS SINCE HAPPENED AGAIN WITHIN A WEEKS TIME AND ALL I CAN THINK OF IS WHAT HAPPENS IF IT LOOSES POWER STEERING WHILE I'M ON THE FREEWAY, OR IF I HAVE MY GRAND BABIES WITH, OR IN THE MIDDLE OF A TURN? WHAT IF.... PEOPLE HAVE ALREADY LOST THEIR LIFE. WHAT'S IT GOING TO TAKE FOR FORD TO DO THE RIGHT THING.

CAR HAS PRESSURE IN FUEL TANK AND IS STARTING TO DEFORM. THE CAR IS ALSO STALLING EVERY TIME I FILL THE GAS TANK.

THERE WAS RECALL 18S32 ISSUED BY FORD TO FIX FUEL FUEL TANK PURGE VALVES. MY CAR HAD STALLED FOR THIS VERY REASON AND I HAD IT TOWED TO DEALERSHIP TO HAVE FIXED. PICKED IT UP AND PROBLEM HAPPENED AGAIN. DEALERSHIP ALREADY CLOSED TICKET. BROUGHT CAR BACK IN TO HAVE RESOLVED, THEY SPENT TWO WEEKS ADVOCATING TO FLORD FOR ME THAT THE ISSUE COULD BE RESOLVED BY REPLACING FUEL TANK AND PROBLEM WAS A DIRECT RELATION TO RECALL. FORD DENIED CLAIM AND FORD RESPONSE TO CUSTOMER WAS TO KEEP CAR HALF FULL WHICH WAS A QUOTE THEY MADE ABOUT THE ORIGINAL RECALL. FUEL TANK NEEDS REPLACEMENT AND FORD IS REFUSING TO FIX THE RECALL ON MY CAR AND DEALERSHIP IS NOT TAKING RESPONSIBILITY FOR CLOSING THE TICKET AND ENSURING THE RECALL WAS FIXED. I OPENED A CLAIM WITH FORD YESTERDAY. I DON'T UNDERSTAND AS THIS IS A SAFETY ISSUE AND ITS A MATTER OF TIME BEFORE IT GETS EVEN WORSE ESPECIALLY WHEN WE ARE DEALING WITH A SERIOUS FUEL ISSUE. THE 2012 FORD FOCUS HAS HAD TRANSMISSION PROBLEMS FOR YEARS. WE HAVE TAKEN THE VEHICLE TO THE DEALERSHIP NUMEROUS TIMES ONLY TO HAVE ISSUES RETURN IN 6 TO 10 MONTHS. THERE IS NO FIX FOR THIS ISSUE. THIS VEHICLE ROLLS BACKWARDS WHEN STOPPED, SHUDDERS AND SHAKES DURING ACCELERATION, INABILITY TO MOVE FORWARD ON AN INCLINE, AND VIBRATION DURING ACCELERATION. WHEN TAKING IT IN FOR REPAIR I WAS TOLD THE WARRANTY EXTENDED AND THERE WOULD BE NO WORRIES ABOUT HAVING THE CAR FIXED IN THE FUTURE. UNBEKNOWNST TO ME THIS WAS THE CASE UNTIL WE REACHED 100,000 MILES. WE HAVE FELT TRAPPED IN THIS CAR DUE TO THE FACT THAT IT HAS LIMITED VALUE AS A TRADE IN OR AS SCRAP. RECENTLY, THE CAR WOULD START BUT WOULD NOT SHIFT INTO GEAR. WHILE ON THE ROAD IT WOULD DROP OUT OF GEAR AND THE SHIFT WOULD BE FROZEN. I WOULD HAVE TO COAST TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD AND THROUGH A SERIES OF TURNING THE CAR OFF AND ON IT WOULD EVENTUALLY WORK. OVER THE COURSE OF SHORT TRIPS (5 TO 10 MILES) WE HAD THIS HAPPEN ON SEVERAL OCCASIONS OVER THE COURSE OF OUR DRIVE. IT TURNED OUT THAT ALL 4 SETS OF THE WHEEL BEARINGS WERE LOCKING UP . BECAUSE THE BEARINGS ARE SUPPOSED TO BE IN A SEALED ENVIRONMENT THEY SHOULDN'T HAVE BEEN EXPOSED TO THE ELEMENTS FOR ONE, AND I HAD TO REPLACE THE ENTIRE WHEEL HUB FOR ALL 4 SINCE THE BEARINGS ALONE ARE NOT SERVICEABLE.
