THE CAR WANT START IT WILL TURN ON THEN WHEN TRYING TO GO THE CAR STALLS OUT AND THE CAR KEEPS ACCLERATING. IT READS ENGINE FAILURE AND I HAVENT EVEN HAD THIS CAR TWO YEARS YET AND AINT EVEN FINISH PAYING I OFF. I HAD TO GET TOLLED OFF THE HIGHWAY WITH MY KIDS DO TO THE CAR WANT START AND WHEN GOT IT HOME IT STARTED BUT KEEPS ACCELERATING. I NEED THIS CAR TO GET CHECKED OR SOMETHING THIS IS UNSAFE FOR MY TODDLERS WHEN I HAVE TO USE THAT VEHICLE TO GET BACK AND FORTH TO WORK AND TAKE MY KIDS TO DAYCARE..WHAT AM I SUPPOSE TO DO WITH A VEHICLE IM STILL PAYING ON AND WANT START. I HAVE BEEN RESEARCHING AND SEEN THAT MULTIPLE PEOPLE BEEN HAVING PROBLEMS WITH THERE FORD FOCUS THE SAME PROBLEMS IM HAVING.
THE BUTTONS ON MY KEY ALL WORK BUT WHEN I GO TO START MY CAR IT SAYS THERE IS NO KEY.
ENGINE STOPPED WHILE IN MOTION ON FREEWAY. ENTIRE ELECTRICAL SYSTEM AND ACCELERATION WOULD NOT POWER BACK ON. STEERING AND BRAKES WERE STILL OPERATIONAL. AFTER PULLING OVER, THE CAR WILL NOT TURN ON, AND DOORS WILL NOT REMAIN LOCKED.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2014 FORD FOCUS. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE ATTEMPTING TO BLOW THE HORN AT ANOTHER DRIVER DRIVING THROUGH THE STOP SIGN, THE HORN FAILED TO OPERATE. THE CONTACT WAS CONCERNED THAT DUE TO THE HORN NOT FUNCTIONING IT COULD RESULT IN A CRASH. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO FORD OF NORTHAMPTON (968 BRIDGE RD, NORTHAMPTON, MA 01060) WHERE THEY INFORMED THE CONTACT THAT THERE WERE WIRES UNDERNEATH THE VEHICLE THAT WERE CORRODED, CAUSING THE HORN TO FAIL. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 62,000.
I HAVE A TRANSMISSION PROBLEM, THE CAR STOPPED WHILE I'M DRIVING AND I GET A WARNING MESSAGE TO CHECK THE ENGINE. THE AUTOMATIC SHIFTING IS HARD AND NOT SMOOTH. IT BECAME NOT SAFE TO DRIVE WEATHER IN A HIGHWAY OR ON A CITY STREET WITH THIS PROBLEM.
I STARTED MY CAR FROM A STATIONARY POSITION ON A STREET AND THE CONSOLE STATED THAT THE 'POWER STEERING ASSIST WAS DISABLED. SERVICE REQUIRED.' THE STEERING WHEEL WOULD NOT MOVE LEFT OR RIGHT. I RESTARTED THE CAR AND THE STEERING WHEEL WOULD MOVE.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2014 FORD FOCUS. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE BOUNCED AND JERKED WHILE ACCELERATING FROM A STOP. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE ENGINE REVVED UP HOWEVER, THE VEHICLE HESITATED TO RESPOND. GREG HUBLER FORD (6400 W HOMETOWN BLVD, MUNCIE, IN 47304, (765) 289-0431) DIAGNOSED THE VEHICLE AND INFORMED THE CONTACT THAT THE SHUTTER BOX IN THE TRANSMISSION NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VIN WAS NOT SUBJECTED TO A RECALL. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER HAD NOT BEEN CONTACTED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 70,000.
PREVIOUSLY GOT RECALLS FIXED ON THE CAR WHICH FIXED ALL STALLING PROBLEMS. 3 MONTHS LATER I GO TO DRIVE AND WHILE IN MOTION IT STARTS STALLING AND THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT COMES ON AND STAYS ON.
POWER ASSIST FAILURE WHEN MANEUVERING IN PARKING LOT. HAD TO TURN OFF AND RESTART. THIS IS REOCCURRING.
I WAS DRIVING DOWN THE STREET, AND MY CAR LOST POWER IN THE MIDDLE OF TRAFFIC. I COULDN'T DO ANYTHING EXCEPT LET THE CAR COAST TO THE NEAREST SIDE STREET. THIS IS THE FIRST TIME IT HAS GOTTEN TO THIS PARTICULAR DEGREE. BEFORE THIS HAPPENED, I WAS ON MY WAY HOME AND AS I WAS LEAVING THE STOP LIGHT, THE CAR HESITATED AND TOOK A WHILE BEFORE THE SPEED WOULD PICK UP. IT ALSO DID SOME WEIRD THINGS THAT I CAN'T EXPLAIN, BUT KNOW THAT IT SHOULDN'T HAVE HAPPENED. AFTER THIS FIRST INCIDENT, I IMMEDIATELY CONTACTED FORD AND COMPLAINED ABOUT THE PROBLEM. I WAS ADVISED THAT THE CAR HAD TWO EXTENDED WARRANTIES AND I SHOULD TAKE IT INTO A AUTHORIZED DEALER AND HAVE THE VEHICLE DIAGNOSED AND THAT IF IT WAS A TRANSMISSION MODULE ISSUE OR SOMETHING TO THAT EFFECT, IT WOULD BE COVERED UNDER THE WARRANTY AND THE REPAIRS WOULD BE DONE AT NO COST. I TOOK THE VEHICLE TO A FORD DEALERSHIP IN TENNESSEE AND WAS TOLD THAT MY VEHICLE HAD AN BRANDED TITLE AND THE DEALERSHIP REFUSED TO PUT THE CAR ON THE MACHINE UNLESS FORD CORPORATE CALLED THEM DIRECTLY WITH AN AUTHORIZATION CODE. I CALLED FORD CORPORATE BACK AND EXPLAINED TO THEM WHAT THE ISSUE WAS AND THE AGENT PUT ME ON HOLD AND CALLED THE DEALERSHIP AND GAVE HIM ALL THE INFORMATION HE NEEDED TO START THE WORK ON MY VEHICLE. ABOUT THREE HOURS LATER, I WAS CONTACTED BY THE DEALERSHIP AND WAS TOLD TO PICK UP MY VEHICLE BECAUSE SOMEONE FROM FORD HAD CONTACTED HIM AND SAID THAT MY WARRANTY WAS NO GOOD. I EMAILED THE CEO AT FORD CORPORATION, AND AFTER TWO WEEKS, STILL HAVEN'T HEARD BACK FROM HIM. I CALLED THE CORPORATE OFFICE AGAIN AND WAS TOLD THE SAME THING AS BEFORE, WHICH IS THAT MY CAR HAS TWO EXTENDED WARRANTIES AND THE WORK SHOULD HAVE BEEN DONE BECAUSE ONE WARRANTY COVERS THE TRANSMISSION WHETHER IT HAS A BRANDED TITLE OR NOT. NOW, I HAVE A CAR SITTING UP, UNNECESSARY EXPENSES AND A DENT IN MY BACK BUMPER.
I WAS DRIVING HOME WHEN OUT OF NOWHERE, MY VEHICLE IS STARTING TO STALL AND I KEPT PUNCHING THE GAS AND IT WAS LIKE THE KEY WAS OFF. WHEN I GOT MY VEHICLE TO BE CODE READ, IT SAID ,'NO FUEL DELIVERED TO THE FUEL RAIL.' I COULD HAVE CAUSED OR BEEN IN A HORRIBLE WRECK IF LUCK HAD NOT BEEN THAT I WAS CLOSE TO A SHOULDER TO PULL OVER AT. I WAS ON THE HIGHWAY DRIVING IN MULTIPLE LANES THIS IS A SAFETY ISSUE
I BOUGHT MY SON A 2014 FORD FOCUS TWO YEARS AGO IT WAS A REBUILT/SALVAGED TITLE THAT HAD BEEN FULLY REPAIRED. IT WAS A NICE CAR AND IS. I TOOK IT TO ROCKWALL FORD FOR RECALLS DOOR LATCH AND TRANSMISSION CLUTCH ISSUE. THEY WERE NICE AND SAID THERE IS NO NEED TO REPLACE THE CLUTCH UNTIL IT STARTS ACTING UP. BUT WE ARE GIVING YOU 100K PLUS MILES EXTENDED WARRANTY. FAST FORWARD TWO YEARS MY SON IS DRIVEN THE CALL 20K PLUS MILES AND NOW IN TUCSON AZ ATTENDING COLLEGE AND TUTTLE FORD IN TUCSON, AZ SAID IT WAS NOT COVERED BECAUSE THE CAR HAS A SALVAGED TITLE. THIS IS NOT RIGHT, THE SALVAGE TITLE HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH A CLUTCH RECALL. HE SAID THE OTHER DAY HE WAS DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY AND IT DID NOT WANT TO GO.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2014 FORD FOCUS. THE CONTACT STATED WHILE DRIVING 10 MPH, THE TRANSMISSION HESITATED WHILE UPSHIFTING. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE CHECK ENGINE WARNING LIGHT WAS ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED WITH NEEDING CANISTER PURGE VALVE TO BE REPLACED. UPON INVESTIGATION, THE CONTACT ASSOCIATED THE FAILURE WITH NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 19V515000 (FUEL SYSTEM, GASOLINE) HOWEVER, THE VIN WAS NOT INCLUDED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT INFORMED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 180,000.
POWER STEERING ASSIST, FAILURE: ENGINE FAILURE TO START: POWER BRAKE ASSIST, FAILURE: TRANSMISSION CONTROL MODULE, FAILURE: CLUTCH FAILURE AND SHIFT ROUGHNESS:. CAR UNUSEABLE FOR THREE YEARS WITHOUT BECAUSE OF PARTS INAVAILABILITY: This type even happened mutiple times because of the transmission control module failure. The first sign of problems was shuddring and rough shifting beginning with about 30,000 miles on the vehicle Multiple trips to the Ford Dealerships resulted in Unsatisfactory action by Ford Motor company to repair the problem The result was safety problems like stalling and losing power steering and brake assist in traffic. It displayed multiple system failure warnings when it failed, Steering asist, Brake assist, ABS, transmission position light was in park while driving. We tried to get repairs done but they just kicked it down the road till we fought with the car to get 160,000 miles out of it because there was no other choice and they denied there was a problem. It was completely unserviceable beginning on the shown date because the clutch control and transmission control module have been faulty, It has started a few times but will not shift properly and the clutch is faulty because of the control module being bad. We paid to have the control module replaced when it became available, but the vehicle is not servicable because the clutch and flywheel are damaged from the module being faulty. This should have been a safety recall as soon as the problem was discovered, but it was hidden and the owners of these vehicles have had to deal with it over the last 10 years. Any of these cars on the road are just as dangerous as this one It.is still at the shop 4 months after they tried to patch it awaiting the determination of whether a clutch recall will fix it or not. These owners of these cars are driving time bombs if they are not able to react to the problems listed in traffic.
HORN DOESN'T WORK OR ONLY INTERMITTENTLY WHEN PARKED, MOVING IN ALL SITUATIONS OR ROAD CONDITIONS, OR DURING LOCKING/UNLOCKING DOORS WITH REMOTE..HAVE HAD THIS PROBLEM FOR AT LEAST 2 YEARS. APPARENTLY FROM A WEB SEARCH, THIS IS KNOWN PROBLEM FOR THIS MODEL..HAVE TRIED TO FIX IT, CHECKING THE ELECTRICAL CONNECTIONS, SPRAYING WD40, CHECKING AND TIGHTENING THE MOUNTING BOLTS. ATTEMPTS TO FIX MAY ONLY LAST A FEW DAYS OR HOURS. THIS IS A VITAL SAFETY COMPONENT TO REDUCE RISKS OF CRASH AND SHOULD BE SUBJECT TO A RECALL OR REPAIR OR REPLACEMENT OF THE HORN ASSEMBLY OR WIRING.
I PURCHASED THIS VEHICLE IN 2016. A WEEK LATER I TOOK IT BACK TO THE DEALERSHIP, THEY DROVE IT SAID NOTHING WAS WRONG. 8 MONTHS LATER I TOOK IT BACK OVER THE TRANSMISSION, THEY DROVE IT, SAID NOTHING WAS WRONG, ABOUT 7 MONTHS AGO I TOOK IT IN OVER THE RECALL ON THE DOOR LOCKS, REQUESTED THE TRANSMISSION BE CHECKED AS WELL. NOTHING WAS DONE ON THE TRANSMISSION. I JUST LEARNED FROM THE FORD MOTOR COMPANY ABOUT THE EXTENDED WARRANTY ON THE TRANSMISSION MODULE AND CLUTCH ASSEMBLY. THE DEALERSHIP DID NOT TELL ME ABOUT THIS. I NOW SIT WITH THIS VEHICLE WITH NO WAY TO GET IT TO THE DEALERSHIP, AND NO OFFER OF HELP FROM THEM. THEY WANT ME TO HAVE IT TOWED AND PAY $ 110 DOLLARS TO PUT ON A MACHINE. I AM ON A FIXED INCOME AND CAN NOT AFFORD TO DO THIS. THIS ISSUE SHOULD HAVE BEEN ADDRESSED ONE OF THE THREE TIMES I TOOK IT IN. THE TRANSMISSION HAS JUMPED,JERKS, LUNGES, REDUCES SPEED PULL OUT SINCE I BOUGHT IT. NOW IT GOES TO NEUTRAL WHILE DRIVING AND YOU HAVE TO PULL OFF AND PUT IT IN PARK, WAIT AND PUT BACK IN DRIVE AND HOPE IT CATCHES. IT'S TO DANGEROUS TO DRIVE NOW SO IT'S PARKED.
CLUTCH WAS REPAIRED AND NOW A PART OF THE NEW CLUTCH NEEDS REPLACEMENT AND THEY DON'T WANT TO HELP ME! I KNOW IT'S PART OF THE RECALL!! NOW I CAN'T USE MY CAR BECAUSE I HAVE TO PAY $2K OUT OF POCKET TO GET IT FIXED! WHEN I KNOW IT'S THE RECALL. IT'S THE CLUTCH!!! ALSO.. THE ATTACHED WORK ORDERS.. WERE NOT GIVEN TO ME WHEN I PURCHASE THE CAR. BUT THEY WERE IN THE CAR MANUAL BOOK. AND IT'S SAYS THE CAR WAS ALREADY HAVING TRANSMISSION PROBLEMS AT 15 THOUSAND MILES! IF I WOULD'VE KNOWN . I WOULD HAVE NEVER PURCHASED THIS VEHICLE! THIS CAR IS A LEMON!!!

ABOUT TWO WEEKS AFTER PURCHASING MY PRE-OWNED 2014 FORD FOCUS, I STARTED TO EXPERIENCE SOME SLIGHT JERKING WHENEVER I PRESSED ON THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL. THE JERKING GRADUALLY GOT WORSE AND I CONTINUED TO DRIVE TO MY HOME. MY CAR STOPPED SUDDENLY WHEN I WAS TRAVELING UPHILL ON A HIGHWAY. I HAD TO SIT AND WAIT FOR A FEW MINUTES BEFORE I WAS ABLE TO KEEP DRIVING. WHEN I FINALLY ARRIVED HOME, I TURNED MY CAR OFF AND WENT IN. I CAME BACK LATER TO GO SOMEWHERE AND MY CAR WOULDN'T START. I RESOLVED TO LEAVE IT BE SINCE IT WAS THE WEEKEND AND DEALERSHIPS WERE CLOSED. THE NEXT DAY MY CAR STARTED, BUT THE JERKING REMAINED AND NOW MY CHECK ENGINE LIGHT WAS ON. I DROVE WITH IT FOR THE TIME BEING BECAUSE THE DEALERSHIP (TOYOTA) THAT I PURCHASED IT FROM SAID THEY COULDNT LOOK INTO MY POSSIBLE TRANSMISSION ISSUES BECAUSE I DIDN'T PURCHASE THE EXTENDED WARRANTY. I FINALLY LOOKED PRETTY DEEP INTO THE ISSUE AND FOUND THERE WAS A RECALL ON THE CAR I PURCHASED AND THAT MANY PEOPLE EXPERIENCED THE SAME EXACT PROBLEMS AS I HAVE.
3 TIMES CAR WOULD NOT START. ALL LIGHTS WIPERS RADIO AND ALL GAUGES WORKED WHEN TURNING KEY BUT CAR WOULD NOT TURN OVER. HAPPENED WHEN SHOPPING HAD TO HAVE CAR TOWED HOME . AFTER SITTING FOR A DAY CAR WOULD START
The contact owns a 2014 Ford Focus. The contact received notification of NHTSA Campaign Number: 13V523000 (Power Train) however, the part to do the recall repair was unavailable. The contact stated that after coming to a complete stop, the vehicle would intermittently jolted forward upon depression of the accelerator pedal with the transmission warning light illuminated. The dealer was initially notified about the recall and confirmed that parts would not be available for months. The contact then took the vehicle to another dealer where and left the vehicle in their possession. The contact was then informed that the manufacturer had instructed the dealer to order the parts then closed the recall. The contact was informed to pick up the vehicle despite the recall not being serviced; the recall was removed from the VIN. The manufacturer had not been notified of the issue. The failure mileage was unknown.
BACK AT THE END OF JUNE, FIRST PART OF JULY I HAD A CHECK ENGINE LIGHT ON AND THEN THE NEXT DAY IT WAS OFF BUT SOME STUPID "MY KEY CAME ON AND NOT IT REGULATES MY SPEED AND VOLUME. I AM NOT PAYING OVER $200 TO HAVE IT REMOVED. BUT THE MOST IMPORTANT THING IS THE CLUTCH ON MY TRANSMISSION IS OUT AND FORD WON'T REPLACE IT FOR FREE AND I DONT HAVE THE MONEY TO FIX IT. I BELIEVE FORD SHOULD FIX IT FOR FREE SINCE THEY CAN'T BUILD GOOD TRANSMISSIONS.
THE POWER STEERING ON MY CAR WENT OUT AS I WAS DRIVING, MAKING IT VERY DIFFICULT TO MAKE TURNS. I WAS ON A CITY STREET AND WAS ABLE TO PULL OF THE ROAD. I TURNED OFF THE ENGINE, MADE A PHONE CALLS. I STARTED THE ENGINE AGAIN AND HEADED HOME ( ABOUT 5 MILES) THERE WAS NO POWER STEERING. IT WAS VERY DIFFICULT TO MANEUVER. TWO DAYS LATER WE TOOK THE CAR TO OUR LOCAL MECHANIC. HE TOLD US THAT FORD HAS TROUBLE WITH THE STEERING SYSTEM AND THAT WE NEEDED TO TAKE IT TO A FORD DEALER. WE TOOK IT TO LIBERTY FORD IN PARMA, OHIO. EVEN THOUGH THIS IS A SAFETY ISSUE AND FORD IS EXPERIENCING MANY CASES OF THIS PROBLEM, THE DEALERSHIP SAID FORD IS NOT COVERING ANY OF THE COST.
THE CAR WONT START AND A MECHANIC DIAGNOSED A BAD FUEL PUMP. THE CAR HAS 117,000 MILES. OTHER CARS GO MUCH LONGER. *TR
CHECK ENGINE LIGHT COMES ON AND THE ENGINE HAS STOPPED WHILE IN MOTION, HAVE HAD IT CHECKED OUT 4 TIMES ALREADY. 1ST TIME DEALER SAID THERE WERE SOME WIRES THAT ARE CLOSE TO THE MANIFOLD WERE FRAYED AND THEN REPAIRED. THE LAST 3 TIMES THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON I PULLED OVER WHILE DRIVING, TURNED THE ENGINE OFF WAITED A FEW MINUTES AND RESTARTED THE CAR AND WAS ABLE TO DRIVE A FEW MILES. I HAVE NOW TAKEN THE CAR TO A DIFFERENT FOR DEALER 3 TIMES IN THE PAST 5 WEEKS AND EVERY TIME IT'S A DIFFERENT CODE WITH THE EXCEPTION OF THE 3RD TIME. THEY REPLACED THE BATTERY AT NO CHARGE NOW TODAY 5 DAYS LATER THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON AGAIN. THIS WILL BE THE 5TH TIME! THIS HAS HAPPENED ON THE HIGHWAY AND ON CITY STREETS. WE HAVE SPENT OVER $500 AND MY TIME GETTING BACK AND FORTH FROM THIS DEALERSHIP TO REMEDY THIS PROBLEM. *TR

HE TRIED TO TURN AROUND AND GET MY CAR TO GO TO WORK. HIS CAR WOULDN'T HARDLY MOVE HE HAD HIS FOOT ALL THE WAY TO THE GROUND AND IT GOT TO 20 MPH. I JUST BOUGHT THIS CAR IN JANUARY 2020. I WAS NEVER INFORMED ABOUT THE EXTENDED WARRANTY FOR THE TRANSMISSION. *TR

GAS MILEAGE WAS NOT CORRECT AND TOOK TO A MECHANIC WHERE THEY FOUND A WARPED FUEL TANK THAT WAS CAUSING DISTANCE TO EMPTY TO BE INACCURATE. WIRING HARNESS THAT CONTROLS THE TRANSMISSION CONTROL MODULE HAD 6 WIRES RUB ON THE THROTTLE BODY CAUSING THEM TO BREAK OR TARNISH WHICH CAUSED THE VEHICLE TO STOP IN THE MIDDLE OF THE ROAD WHILE DRIVING ON A CITY STREET ON 2 OCCASIONS. I WANT TO FINE A COMPLAINT AGAINST THE FORD DEALER. I HAVE APPROXIMATELY 3 MONTHS WITH PROBLEM. IT'S BECAUSE OF GAS EVAPORATIONS.
