MY VEHICLE SURGES FORWARD ESPECIALLY WHEN THE AIR CONDITION IS RUNNING. IT SEEMS LIKE SOMETHING IS STUCK POSSIBLY THE THROTTLE. IT WAS FIRST NOTICED WHEN I DROVE THE VEHICLE TO INDIO, CALIFORNIA AND RAN THE AIR CONDITIONER. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2006 FORD FREESTYLE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE ABNORMALLY SURGED FORWARD AS HE SHIFTED FROM PARK TO DRIVE. THE FAILURE WOULD OCCUR INTERMITTENTLY AND WOULD ALSO OCCUR WHEN SHIFTING INTO REVERSE. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN AUTHORIZED DEALER WHERE THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THE THROTTLE BODY WOULD NEED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS IN THE PROCESS OF BEING REPAIRED. THE FAILURE AND CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 84,565.
ENGINE SURGING UNEXPECTEDLY AND VIOLENTLY IN GEAR AT IDLE. I HAVE HAD THE THROTTLE BODY REPLACED THREE TIMES, AND ON 7-2-2014 IT HAS BEGUN THIS SURGING AGAIN. FORD CUSTOMER RELATIONSHIP LINE HAS CONFIRMED TO ME THAT THE VEHICLE HAS NOT CLEARED OFF OF THEIR DATABASE ( I NEVER RECEIVED THE CSP-12N03 LETTER), AND THE COVERAGE FOR REPLACEMENT OF THE PART HAS EXPIRED AS OF 5-31-2013. FORD ASKED ME TO KEEP ALL OF MY RECEIPTS WHEN I REPLACE THE THROTTLE BODY FOR THE FOURTH TIME SO THAT IF FORD ENACTS A NEW COVERAGE, I WILL HAVE MY PAPERWORK IN ORDER. NO PROMISE OF A NOTICE LETTER HOWEVER. *TR
2006 FORD FREESTYLE SURGES WHEN IN REVERSE. DEALER REPLACED THROTTLE BODY. *TR
HAVE 2006 FORD FREESTYLE WITH 50,000+ MILES. WHEN STARTED OR STOPPED, ENGINE WILL SUDENLY ACCELERATE OR REV UP, CAR WILL SURGE FORWARD. HAVE TO HOLD CAR WITH BRAKE. DEALER SAYS NOT A WARRANTY DEFECT, BUT WILL HAVE TO GET A NEW THROTTLE BODY AT COST OF $800 PLUS LABOR. TALKED TO TWO DEALERS AND THEY COULD NOT EVEN GET ONE BECAUSE WERE BACKORDERED. DEALER SAID OTHER CARS HAVING SAME PROBLEM. CAR NOW HAS 65,00 MILES AND STILL DOING THE SAME THING. THIS SHOULD BE UNDER WARRANTY AND HAVE FORD FIX THE PROBLEM UNDER A RECALL. ALSO HAVE A 2005 FREESTYLE WITH 87,000 MILES AND THE ENGINE IS STARTING TO HAVE THE SAME SURGE AND HIGH RPM PROBLEM. FORD NEEDS TO FIX THIS AS SOOM AS POSSIBLE. *TR
2006 FORD FREESTYLE SURGES AND CHANGES SPEED AT BOTH HIGH AND LOW SPEEDS. LAST WEEKEND IT HAPPENED WHILE PULLING INTO THE GARAGE. CAR ABOUT TOOK OUT THE BACKSIDE OF THE WALL. I HAVE AN APPOINTMENT WITH FORD SERVICE TOMORROW TO HAVE IT LOOKED AT. BASED ON ALL THE OTHER REPORTS FILED HERE ABOUT THIS ISSUE, IT SOUNDS LIKE THE ROOT CAUSE HAS NOT BEEN ESTABLISHED NOR OWNERSHIP TAKEN BY FORD FOR THIS ISSUE. *TR
2006 FORD FREESTYLE HAS DEVELOPED A MAJOR THROTTLEBODY PROBLEM. WITH THE ENGINE RUNNING AND THE CAR IN EITHER DRIVE OR REVERSE WITH FOOT ONLY ON THE BRAKE, NOT THE ACCELERATOR, THE ENGINE WILL ACCELERATE AND CAUSE THE CAR TO LURCH FORWARD IN DRIVE OR BACKWARD IN REVERSE. THERE IS NO WARNING THAT IT IS GOING TO HAPPEN. THE LURCH IS POWERFUL ENOUGH TO MOVE THE CAR 1-4 FEET EVEN WITH THE BRAKES FULLY DEPRESSED. WE HAVE BARELY AVOIDED A BICYCLE CROSSING AT A RED LIGHT, CARS AT A STOP SIGN, AND GARAGE WALLS. THE CAR IS IN THE SHOP NOW AND FORD CORPORATE REFUSES TO RECOGNIZE THE PROBLEM AND IS HAPPY TO CHARGE OVER $800.00 TO FIX. THIS IS A HUGE SAFETY ISSUE. THIS IS A VERY POPULAR FAMILY VEHICLE. THIS LURCHING HAPPENS WITHOUT WARNING, IF YOU DO NOT HAVE YOUR BRAKE PEDAL FIRMLY PLANTED ON THE FLOOR THE CAR EASILY LURCHES 1-4 FEET BEFORE YOU KNOW IT. SOMEONE IS GOING TO BE SERIOUSLY INJURED OR KILLED WITHOUT ANY ACTION. THIS JUST STARTED TO HAPPEN TO MY CAR, BUT IF YOU LOOK AT THE NUMBER OF COMPLAINTS ABOUT THIS ON VARIOUS WEBSITES IT IS CLEARLY A HUGE VEHICLE WIDE PROBLEM NOT JUST WITH A SMALL HANDFUL OF VEHICLES! FORD NEEDS TO RECALL THIS PART IMMEDIATELY BEFORE SERIOUS INJURIES OCCUR. *TR
BRAKES WERE COMPRESSED DUE TO SUDDEN STOP IN CAR IN FRONT OF US DURING TRAFFIC. CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON AND CAR REVVED TO ~4000 RPM AND WAS VERY UNRESPONSIVE TO COMPRESSION OF GAS PEDAL. THIS HAS OCCURRED 3 MORE TIMES OVER THE PAST MONTH; EACH TIME THE CAR MUST BE TURNED OFF AND THEN UPON RESTARTING EVERYTHING SEEMS TO BE FINE AGAIN. WE HAVE NOW TAKEN THE CAR TO OUR LOCAL FORD DEALER AND THEY TELL US IT IS A PROBLEM WITH THE CVT AND WILL COST $5200 TO REPLACE. *TR
.WHILE STOPPED IN TRAFFIC, THIS VEHICLE WILL, WITHOUT WARNING, LUNGE FORWARD. THIS HAS HAPPENED MANY MANY TIMES. I HAVE BEEN TOLD THAT THE PROBLEM IS THE THROTTLE BODY, A PART THAT COST AROUND 900 DOLLARS. I FEEL THAT FORD SHOULD FIX THIS PROBLEM BECAUSE OF THE SERIOUS SAFETY IMPLICATIONS. *TR
I HAVE HAD THE TRANSMISSION IN MY 2006 FORD FREESTYLE REPLACED TWICE. NOW IT IS SURGING(LUNGING). I HAVE RESEARCHED AND FOUND LOT OF OTHER ARE DOING THE SAME - FORD IS CALLING FOR THE THROTTLE TO BE REPLACED BUT THAT DOES NOT ALWAYS SOLVE THE PROBLEM. I BELIEVE IT IS TIME FOR AN INVESTIGATION OF THIS PROBLEM. SO FOR I HAVE BEEN LUCKY AND NOT HAD AN ACCIDENT WITH THIS PROBLEM. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2006 FORD FREESTYLE. THE CONTACT STATED AS SOON AS THE VEHICLE WAS STARTED AND PUT INTO GEAR, THE VEHICLE WOULD BEGAN TO ACCELERATE ABNORMALLY. THE FAILURE ALSO OCCURRED WHILE IN REVERSE. THE CONTACT THEN ABRUPTLY APPLIED THE BRAKES AND WOULD POWER OFF THE VEHICLE TO STOP THE UNINTENDED ACCELERATION. THE MAINTENANCE WARNING LIGHT WOULD FLUCTUATE ON AND OFF. THE DEALER DIAGNOSED THE FAILURE AS A FAULTY THROTTLE BODY. THE DEALER REPLACED THE THROTTLE BODY AND THE FAILURE WAS CORRECTED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 48,913.
2006 FORD FREESTYLE IS LUNGING VERY AGGRESSIVELY. I WILL PUT THE VEHICLE INTO REVERSE AND AS SOON AS I LET OFF THE BRAKE THE CAR SUDDENLY REVS AND LUNGES. WHEN I PUT THE CAR INTO DRIVE THE VEHICLE SUDDENLY LUNGES OUT OF CONTROL. THIS ALSO OCCURS WHEN I MAKE A STOP. THE CAR WANTS TO LUNGE FORWARD AGGRESSIVELY. TODAY IT FINALLY LUNGED AND THEN DIED. THIS IS A VERY SERIOUS SITUATION. IF MY CHILD WOULD HAVE BEEN WALKING IN FRONT OF THE VEHICLE HE WOULD HAVE BEEN HIT. SOMETHING NEEDS TO BE DONE ABOUT THIS SITUATION. THE CURRENT AND FAILURE MILEAGES WERE 62000.
MY 2006 FORD FREESTYLE SEEMS TO HAVE THROTTLE FAILURE. MY VEHICLE JUMPED FORWARD EVEN THOUGH I HAD MY FOOT ON THE BRAKES. WILL HAVE IT FIXED TOMORROW SINCE IT IS UNSAFE TO DRIVE LIKE THIS. FORD SHOULD FIX THIS PROBLEM. *TR
MY 2006 FORD FREESTYLE HAS HAD AN INCREASING NUMBER OF INCIDENCES WHERE THE CAR HAS JUST COME OUT OF PARK AND INTO FORWARD OR REVERSE, WHERE ALL OF A SUDDEN THE THROTTLE WILL SURGE EVEN WHEN APPLYING THE BRAKE. WHEN IT IS HOT OUT, IT IS NOW OCCURRING SEVERAL TIMES A WEEK. YESTERDAY IT DID THE SAME THING AND THEN STALLED COMPLETELY. WHEN I TURNED THE CAR BACK ON, THE 'WRENCH' LIGHT WAS ON AND THE CAR LOST ALL ITS POWER. THEN I DISCONNECTED THE BATTERY AND EVERYTHING WAS BACK TO NORMAL. I CHECKED THE PROBLEM ONLINE AND IT SEEMS TO BE A VERY PREVALENT AND EXTREMELY DANGEROUS SITUATION FOR THIS CAR. THE DEALERS ARE UNABLE TO REPAIR IT AT THIS TIME BECAUSE THE PROBLEMS ARE HAPPENING SO OFTEN THAT THE NEEDED PARTS ARE ON BACK-ORDER. I AM FORCED TO DRIVE THE CAR UNTIL THE PARTS BECOME AVAILABLE, CONSTANTLY FEARING THAT IT WILL CAUSE AN ACCIDENT. *TR
ACCELERATION WHILE STOPPED - IN BOTH DRIVE AND REVERSE - I'VE HAD TO HIT THE BRAKES RIGHT AFTER I TAKE MY FOOT OFF THE BRAKE PEDAL, THEN THE CAR STALLS AND SOMETIMES AFTERWARDS WILL NOT ACCELERATE. SOMETIMES I HAVE TO SHUT OFF MY VEHICLE, LET IT SIT, THEN RESTART IT. WAS AN INTERMITTENT PROBLEM AT FIRST, NOW HAPPENING MORE & MORE OFTEN. THIS PROBLEM WILL CAUSE ME TO HAVE AN ACCIDENT OR HIT PEOPLE IN THE FUTURE IF NOT CORRECTED. MY CHECK ENGINE LIGHT IS COMING ON MORE OFTEN WHEN THIS PROBLEM OCCURS. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER WHO STATED THAT THE THROTTLE BODY CONTROL CAUSED THE FAILURE TO OCCUR. THE DEALER REPAIRED THE VEHICLE. THE FAILURE AND THE CURRENT MILEAGES WERE 87,264. MY 2006 FORD FREESTYLE HAS BEGUN TO SURGE AND ACCELERATE UNEXPECTEDLY. IF YOU ARE NOT CAREFUL, YOU WILL FIND YOURSELF IN A CAR ACCIDENT WITHOUT EVEN KNOWING WHAT IS GOING ON. I TOOK IT TO THE DEALERSHIP AND THEY SAID THAT THERE IS A TSB FOR THIS ISSUE AND IT IS DUE TO A FAULTY THROTTLE BODY AND MASS AIR FLOW SENSOR. HOWEVER IT IS NOT A SAFETY CONCERN THEREFORE NO RECALL NEEDED. *TR

I NEARLY RAN INTO A FAMILY. NO CAR SHOULD BE ABLE TO DO THAT ON ITS OWN. I AM ALSO DISAPPOINTED THAT THIS IS A KNOWN PROBLEM AND NOTHING HAS BEEN DONE ABOUT IT. *TR

THE ENGINE ON MY 2006 FORD FREESTYLE REVS UP ON ITS OWN AT LOW IDLING PARKING LOT SPEEDS. THE WRENCH LIGHT THEN ILLUMINATES ON THE INSTRUMENT DISPLAY AND THE ENGINE STALLS. UPON RESTARTING THE ENGINE THE WRENCH LIGHT STAYS LIT AND THE VEHICLE ACCELERATES SLUGGISHLY. THIS PROBLEM HAS HAPPENED WHEN BACKING OUT OF PARKING SPOTS AND WHEN DRIVING IN STOP AND GO TRAFFIC. *TR
2007 FORD FREESTYLE - SUDDEN ACCELERATION AT LOW SPEEDS IN REVERSE AND FORWARD. CAR LURCHES SUDDENLY. MY SON HAS EXACTLY THE SAME CAR AND THIS PROBLEM IS OCCURRING WITH HIS CAR AS WELL. THERE ARE SMALL CHILDREN IN THESE CARS ALL THE TIME. DEALER CALLED PROBLEM A THROTTLE BOX PROBLEM. SAID REPLACEMENT PARTS ARE NOT AVAILABLE. I SENT A LETTER TO THE NHTSA ABOUT A MONTH AGO AND HAVE HAD NO RESPONSE. THIS IS A VERY SERIOUS SAFETY ISSUE. THESE OCCURRENCE HAPPEN EVERY TIME WE ARE IN THE CAR. *TR

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER WHO STATED THAT THE THROTTLE BODY NEEDED TO BE REPLACED, BUT THE NEW PARTS WERE ON BACK ORDER UNTIL AUGUST 31, 2010. HE WAS ALSO TOLD THAT THE VEHICLE WAS UNSAFE TO DRIVE. THE FORD MANUFACTURER WAS CALLED BUT THEY HAVE NOT RETURNED HIS CALL. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 48,000. UPDATED 11/05/10. *LJ
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2006 FORD FREESTYLE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHENEVER THE VEHICLE WAS BARELY MOVING IT WOULD VIBRATE AND THEN SURGE FORWARD AND BACKWARDS. THE WARNING LIGHT ILLUMINATED AS SHE DROVE TO A MECHANIC WHERE THEY ARE RUNNING A DIAGNOSTIC TEST. AFTER PERFORMING A DIAGNOSTIC TEST THEY CONFIRMED THAT THE THROTTLE BODY FAILED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER PREVIOUSLY AND THEY COULD NOT DIAGNOSE THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT CONTACTED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS UNKNOWN.
2006 FORD FREESTYLE LIMITED_CAR LUNGES FORWARD WHEN SITTING IN TRAFFIC AND YOU MUST QUICKLY SLAM THE BRAKES TO STOP. THIS HAPPENS SUDDENLY WITHOUT WARNING. MY CAR ALSO DIES AND I MUST RESTART, THEN THE WRENCH LIGHT COMES ON, AND THE CAR BARELY ACCELERATES. THIS HAPPENS MORE WHEN IT'S REAL HOT AND THE A/C IS ON. I WILL NOT LET ME WIFE OR KIDS IN THE CAR UNTIL THIS IS RESOLVED. *TR
I HAVE A FORD FREESTYLE 2006 WITH ABOUT 110,000 MILES ON IT AND I WAS IN A PARKING LOT AND PUT MY CAR IN REVERSE AND THE CAR ACCELERATED FULL THROTTLE AND I ALMOST WRECKED THE CAR AND THEN DROVE ANOTHER MILE AND IT STOPPED DOING ANYTHING AND I LET IT DRIVE TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD. IT HAD A WRENCH LIGHT ILLUMINATED. I THEN WAITED ABOUT 10 MINUTES AND THEN MY CAR WAS ABLE TO START UP AND DRIVE MYSELF HOME. I HAD 3 SMALL CHILDREN IN THE CAR AND WAS SCARED IT WOULD ACCELERATE AGAIN BUT MADE IT 40 MILES HOME AND NOW I SIT HERE READING THIS AND WAITING TILL FORD OPENS SO I CAN CALL AND REPORT THIS ISSUE. MY THROTTLE BODY HAS BEEN REPLACED WHEN THE CAR HAD ONLY 50000 MILES ON IT AND ALSO HAD THE TRANSMISSION REPLACED AT 90000. I AM WANTING TO GET MY CAR FIXED BUT THIS IS THE SAME THING THAT HAPPENED WHEN THROTTLE BODY GOT REPLACED BEFORE AND NOW I SEE THEY ARE ON BACKORDER. THIS IS AWFUL THIS CAR SHOULD BE ON NATIONAL RECALL. I SPENT A LOT OF MONEY ON THIS CAR AND IT SHOULD LAST THIS LONG! *TR
I HAVE A 2006 FORD FREESTYLE WITH LESS THAN 60,000 MILES. SEVERAL TIMES IT HAS LURCHED FORWARD WHILE MY FOOT HAS BEEN ON THE BRAKE AND THE MOTOR HAS CUT OFF RIGHT AFTER. ON 2 OCCASIONS, THERE HAVE BEEN ERROR CODES THAT HAVE SHOWN UP, AND I TOOK THE VEHICLE TO A LOCAL AUTO PARTS STORE TO FIND OUT WHAT THE CODES MEAN. ON JUNE 11, 2010, I TOOK THE VEHICLE TO THE LOCAL FORD DEALERSHIP WHERE I BOUGHT IT FROM, AND GAVE THEM THE CODES. THEY TOLD ME IT COULD BE SOMETHING TO DO WITH THE THROTTLE AND TO BRING IT BACK IN WHEN THE ERROR CODES COME UP AGAIN. THEY HAVE NOT SINCE THE, BUT THE VEHICLE IS STILL HAVING THE SAME PROBLEMS. THE MOST RECENT INCIDENT WAS ON 8/4/10 WHILE I WAS AT A STOP SIGN. I HAD MY FOOT ON THE BRAKE AND IT LURCHED FORWARD, AND WHEN I ATTEMPTED TO PULL OUT FROM THE STOP SIGN, THE VEHICLE'S MOTOR DIED. NO ERROR CODES... I CONTACTED THE DEALERSHIP'S SERVICE DEPARTMENT AND HAVE NOT GOTTEN A RESPONSE. I KNOW THAT THERE ARE OTHER FREESTYLE OWNERS THAT ARE HAVING THE SAME PROBLEMS. CAN OR WILL FORD MOTOR COMPANY ISSUE A RECALL? *TR

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER WHERE THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THE THROTTLE BODY WOULD NEED TO BE REPLACED. THERE WERE NO PRIOR WARNINGS OF THE FAILURE AND THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE CURRENT AND FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 65,000.
THROTTLE BODY FAILURE OCCURRED AT 40,400 MILES DURING FAMILY VACATION W/4 PASSENGERS. SYMPTOMS BEGAN WHILE CROSSING THE HOOVER DAM. VEHICLE LUNGED/SURGED FORWARD IN 1ST GEAR (HAD TO HOLD BRAKE TIGHT AND SLIP INTO NEUTRAL TO AVOID IMPACT WITH CAR). POWERTRAIN AND ENGINE WARNING LIGHTS WERE LIT. MY COMPLAINT IS NOT RELATED TO THE COST AND THE AVAILABILITY OF THE PART, BUT THE SAFETY FACTOR. I WAS AWARE OF THIS PROBLEM (FROM ONLINE INFO) AND KNEW WHAT TO DO QUICKLY ENOUGH TO AVOID AN ACCIDENT. TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2006 FORD FREESTYLE. THE VEHICLE WAS STOPPED WITH THE CONTACT DEPRESSING THE BRAKES AS THE VEHICLE ABNORMALLY ACCELERATED. THE CONTACT APPLIED ABRUPT PRESSURE TO THE BRAKES AND WAS ABLE TO STOP THE UNINTENDED ACCELERATION. THE WRENCH AND ENGINE SERVICE WARNING LIGHTS ILLUMINATED DURING THE FAILURE. THE CONTACT SHUT OFF THE VEHICLE AND WHEN RESTARTING, IT RESUMED NORMAL OPERATION. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHERE THEY WERE UNABLE TO DIAGNOSE THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE RECURRED WHILE THE CONTACT WAS DRIVING WITH THE CRUISE CONTROL SET AT APPROXIMATELY 65 MPH. THE ENTIRE DASHBOARD ILLUMINATED DURING THE FAILURE. THE CONTACT SHUT OFF THE VEHICLE AND WHEN RESTARTING, THE VEHICLE RESUMED AS NORMAL FOR APPROXIMATELY ONE HOUR UNTIL THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHERE THE CONTACT WAS ADVISED THAT THERE WAS A MALFUNCTION WITHIN THE TRANSMISSION CONTROL. THE VEHICLE WAS THEN TAKEN TO AN AUTHORIZED DEALER WHERE SHE WAS ADVISED THAT THE TRANSMISSION WOULD NEED REPLACING. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE VIN WAS UNAVAILABLE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 40,000 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 41,000.
I HAVE NOW HAD THE DIAGNOSTIC RAN AND THE BAD THROTTLE BODY CAME IN. I CONTACTED FORD AND FILED A COMPLAINT AND REQUEST FOR FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE. THERE ARE HUNDREDS OF BLOG ENTRIES WITH THIS SAME ISSUE. IT IS DANGEROUS AND SOME PEOPLE ARE BUYING NEW CARS BECAUSE OF IT. I DO NOT HAVE THIS LUXURY. THE REPAIR IS GOING TO COST AROUND $750.00 WHICH I CANNOT AFFORD EITHER. IF FORD KNOWS ABOUT THIS, AND IT IS CURRENTLY UNDER INVESTIGATION, THEN WHY IS THERE NO RECALL? THE MANUFACTURER WAS CONTACTED AND ADVISED THAT ANY FURTHER REPAIRS WOULD BE AT THE CONTACTS EXPENSE. NO ASSISTANCE WAS OFFERED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT FURTHER REPAIRED. I HAVE A FORD FREESTYLE 2006. IT HAS A THROTTLE PROBLEM THAT CAUSES IT TO LURCH AND SOMETIMES SHUT OFF. IT OCCURS ONLY IN HOT WEATHER GENERALLY OVER 90 DEGREES (AT THIS TIME.) IT IS A SAFETY ISSUE DUE TO THE FACT THAT THE CAR ACCELERATES QUICKLY FROM IDLE AND OFTEN IN REVERSE OR WHILE SITTING IN IDLE AT A STOP LIGHT. THIS HAPPENED NUMEROUS TIMES WHEN WE LIVED IN CALIFORNIA WHILE IDLING AT TRAFFIC LIGHTS OR WHILE DRIVING SLOW IN PARKING LOTS. WE BROUGHT IT IN AND HAD A PART REPLACED FOR $800 AND WAS TOLD EVERYTHING WAS FINE. 3 WEEKS LATER THE CAR WAS REVVING HIGH AND MAKING A LOUD WHUR. WE BROUGHT IT BACK IN AND WAS TOLD THAT THE TRANSMISSION HAD TO BE REPLACED AND THAT THIS WAS A KNOWN DEFECT WITH THE FREESTYLE AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION. IT COST OVER $5000.
