2006 FORD FREESTYLE, VEHICLE SURGES SUDDENLY BY, MAINLY AT LOW SPEED WHEN PARKING OR IN HEAVY TRAFFIC. DANGEROUS WHEN IN HEAVY TRAFFIC OR TRYING TO PARK AS UNEXPECTED SURGE CAN CAUSE ACCIDENT IF BRAKES IS NOT APPLIED IN TIME. UNDERSTAND NOW FROM RESEARCH THAT THIS IS A COMMON PROBLEM WITH THIS MODEL FORD, CAUSED BY FAULTY THROTTLE BODY ASSEMBLY.. THIS COULD CAUSE SERIOUS INJURY AT INTERSECTIONS WITH HEAVY PEDESTRIAN TRAFFIC AS SUDDEN SURGE CAN MOVE VEHICLE INTO SOMEONE OR SOMETHING UNEXPECTEDLY. *TR
I WAS IN MYRTLE BEACH SUMMER OF 2010 WHEN I WAS BACKING MY VEHICLE OUT OF A PARKING SPACE IT LUNGED BACK ALMOST CAUSING A WRECK. THEN WHEN I WENT FORWARD DID THE SAME STALLED. CHANGED FUEL FILTER AND EVERYTHING. ABOUT 1 MONTH LATER DID IT AGAIN. I SEEMS TO DO IT WHEN THE TEMPERATURE OUTSIDE IS WARM. THIS IS VERY SCARY AND NOT SURE WHAT HAS TO HAPPEN FOR FORD TO RECALL. I GUESS SOMEONE HAS TO DIE AND THEY HAVE TO BE SUED. *TR
ENGINE SURGE/ WRENCH LIGHT ILLUMINATED AT STOP SIGN. HAD TO STAND ON BRAKES TO PREVENT LURCHING INTO INTERSECTION. TURN OFF VEHICLE OK ON RESTART. RESEARCH REVEALS THAT THIS PROBLEM IS A KNOWN THROTTLE BODY ISSUE. FORD NEEDS TO RECALL THIS ITEM IMMEDIATELY. FELT NEED TO REGISTER INCIDENT AFTER READING OF OTHER OPERATOR'S PROBLEMS. *TR
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2006 FORD FREESTYLE. THE RPMS INCREASED EXCESSIVELY WHEN THE CONTACT HAD HER FOOT ON THE BRAKES PEDAL. THE VEHICLE ACCELERATED AS SHE RELEASED HER FOOT FROM THE BRAKE PEDAL. THE VEHICLE LUNGED BACKWARDS BEFORE IT BEGAN TO ACCELERATE AND THEN IT STALLED. NONE OF THE WARNING LIGHTS ILLUMINATED BEFORE AND AFTER THE FAILURE OCCURRED. THE DEALER INFORMED HER TO BRING THE VEHICLE IN FOR A DIAGNOSTIC TEST AT HER EXPENSE FOR $100. THE MANUFACTURER WAS CONTACTED AND A CLAIM WAS FILED. THERE WERE NO RELATED RECALLS OR WARRANTIES RELATED TO THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE AND CURRENT MILEAGES WERE 39,000.
UNINTENDED ACCELERATION IN 2006 FORD FREESTYLE. *TR
MY 2006 FORD FREESTYLE JUST STARTED ACCELERATING WHEN I STEP ON THE BRAKE. I ALMOST RAN INTO THE SIDE OF MY OFFICE BUILDING. IT IS DOING IT QUITE FREQUENTLY NOW AND I SEE THERE ARE MANY COMPLAINTS BUT FORD ISN'T DOING A RECALL. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2006 FORD FREESTYLE. THE CONTACT STATED THE VEHICLE WILL SPORADICALLY ACCELERATE UP TO 10 MPH WHEN ATTEMPTING TO PARK. THE CONTACT WAS ABLE TO STOP THE UNINTENDED ACCELERATION BY APPLYING THE BRAKES. THE DEALER ADVISED THAT THE THROTTLE BODY WOULD NEED TO BE REPLACED. THE PART WAS NOT READILY AVAILABLE AND THE DEALER ADVISED THAT THE PART WOULD BECOME AVAILABLE LATE AUGUST BUT THERE WAS NO GUARANTEE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2006 FORD FREESTYLE. THE CONTACT WAS DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 5 MPH IN REVERSE INTO A RESIDENTIAL GARAGE. AS THE CONTACT DEPRESSED THE BRAKE PEDAL, THE VEHICLE BEGAN TO ABNORMALLY ACCELERATE. THE CONTACT WAS ABLE TO STOP THE VEHICLE WITH REPEATED PRESSURE TO THE BRAKES. THE FAILURE OCCURRED SIX TIMES. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN AUTHORIZED DEALER FOR DIAGNOSIS AND THE THROTTLE BODY WAS REPLACED. IN ADDITION, ON A SEPARATE OCCASION THERE WAS A COMPLETE LOSS OF ENGINE POWER. THE FAILURE REOCCURRED WITH THE ILLUMINATION OF THE CHECK ENGINE WARNING LIGHT INDICATOR. THE DEALER REPLACED THE EXHAUST GAS RECIRCULATION AND SWITCH ASSEMBLY. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 79,000.
WHEN AT A STOP LIGHT OR AT A DRIVE THRU CAR WILL LURCH FORWARD WHEN IN DRIVE. FOOT IS USUALLY ON THE BRAKE PEDAL AT THE TIME, BECAUSE IT HAPPENS WHEN I LET OFF THE BRAKE TO ACCELERATE BUT THE CAR ACCELERATES ON ITS OWN. THE RPMS GO FROM 1 TO 4 WITH NO FOOT ON THE ACCELERATER. AIR CONDITIONING IS ALWAYS ON WHEN IT HAPPENS. IT ALSO HAPPENS IN PARKING LOTS. IT IS ALWAYS WHEN AT A STOP, GETTING READY TO GO. LUCKILY I NOW KNOW WHEN IT WILL HAPPEN AND UNDER WHAT CONDITION AND HAVE NOT HIT ANYONE.
2006 FORD FREESTYLE EXPERIENCES ENGINE REVVING AND STALLS WHEN SHIFTED INTO REVERSE FROM PARK. ENGINE REVS AND REQUIRES BRAKES TO BE APPLIED TO PREVENT RAPID ACCELERATION. DEALER IS REPAIRING AT CUSTOMER COST. THIS SEEMS TO BE HAPPENING TO OTHER OWNERS ALSO. *TR

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER WHERE THE TECHNICIANS WERE UNABLE TO DIAGNOSE THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THERE WAS AN OPEN INVESTIGATION; NHTSA ACTION NUMBER: PE10033 (VEHICLE SPEED CONTROL, POWER TRAIN:AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION:CONTROL MODULE (TCM, PCM)) THAT MAY BE RELATED TO THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 40,000.

VEHICLE ACCELERATES WENT FIRST PUT IN GEAR (ESPECIALLY REVERSE). SOMETIMES DIES AFTER THE ACCELERATION. RECURRENT PROBLEM. DEALER SAYS THROTTLE BODY NEEDS TO BE REPLACED, PARTS ON BACK ORDER. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2006 FORD FREESTYLE. THE CONTACT WAS DRIVING 15 MPH WHEN THE VEHICLE ABNORMALLY ACCELERATED. THE FAILURE WOULD OCCUR SPORADICALLY WHETHER ACCELERATING FORWARD OR IN REVERSE. THE VEHICLE WOULD ALSO STALL WITHOUT WARNING WHENEVER THE AIR CONDITIONING UNIT WAS ACTIVATED. THE MANUFACTURER ADVISED THE CONTACT TO TAKE THE VEHICLE TO THE DEALER FOR DIAGNOSTIC TESTING. THE VEHICLE WAS NEITHER DIAGNOSED FOR THE FAILURE NOR REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 51,000 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 52,002.
MY 2006 FORD FREESTYLE IS LURCHING FORWARD WHEN STOPPED OR GOING AT VERY SLOW SPEEDS IN FORWARD AND REVERSE. IT ALSO HAS STALLED A FEW TIMES. WHEN IT STALLS AND I RESTART IT, IT WILL NOT ACCELERATE EVEN TO 30 MPH. THE LURCHING PROBLEM HAS CAUSED ME ON MULTIPLE OCCASIONS TO ALMOST HIT EITHER PEDESTRIANS WALKING IN FRONT OR BEHIND MY VEHICLE, ALMOST HIT OTHER VEHICLES, AND HAS LURCHED ME OUT INTO THE STREET IN FRONT OF OTHER VEHICLES WHO HAD THE RIGHT OF WAY. THIS IS A VERY SERIOUS PROBLEM WHICH HAS THE POTENTIAL FOR FUTURE DEATHS, ESPECIALLY WHEN PEDESTRIANS ARE INVOLVED, ALONG WITH BEING FORCED OUT INTO ONCOMING TRAFFIC. MY FREESTYLE JUST STARTED DONG THIS LURCHING IN THE PAST 6 MONTHS OR SO, BUT APPARENTLY THE PROBLEM HAS BEEN ONGOING SINCE 2005. WHEN I TOOK IT IN TO THE DEALER FOR SERVICE THEY ACTED LIKE THEY HAD NEVER HEARD OF THE PROBLEM AND CHARGED ME FOR A DIAGNOSTIC, THEN NOTED THAT IF THAT DIDN'T WORK THEY MIGHT TRY CHECKING THE THROTTLE BODY. THIS IS UNACCEPTABLE. FORD IS PUTTING THE LIVES OF IT'S SO-CALLED 'FAMILY' IN DANGER AND IS NOT STEPPING UP TO THE PLATE TO FIX THE PROBLEM OR EVEN FACE IT HEAD ON BY IMPLEMENTING A RECALL. SOMETHING NEEDS TO BE DONE BEFORE THERE ARE FATALITIES! *TR
REAR BRAKES WEAR OUT UNUSUALLY FAST, IN THE FIRST 18,000 MILES. SOUND FORD WILL NOT DO ANYTHING ABOUT THIS ISSUE EITHER. THIS IS THE 2ND TIME I HAVE HAD TO REPLACE MY REAR BRAKES AND ROTORS THAT WERE COMPLETELY RUINED IN 38,000 MILES OF USUAL DRIVING. I HAVE ALSO EXPERIENCED UNUSUAL TIRE WEAR. THE INSIDES OF THE TIRES GO BALD WITH IN THE FIRST 35,000 MILES EVEN WITH ROUTINE SERVICING AND ROTATIONS. *TR
WHEN SHIFTED FROM P TO R OR D, THE VEHICLE SURGES OR LUNGES. VERY DIFFICULT TO CONTROL EVEN WITH FOOT FIRMLY ON THE BRAKE. WORSE WHEN A/C IS ON. THE ENGINE RACES, AND RPMS INCREASE. VEHICLE WAS PURCHASED USED LAST YEAR, AT APPROXIMATELY 48K MILES. NOTICED THE PROBLEM SHORTLY AFTER PURCHASE, BUT THE PROBLEM SEEMED ALMOST IMAGINARY, THEN WENT AWAY OVER THE WINTER MONTHS. THE PROBLEM HAS RETURNED AND SEEMS WORSE AT THIS TIME (SUMMER 2011). DEFINITELY NOT IMAGINARY, DEFINITELY DANGEROUS. OCCURS IN PARKING LOTS AND INTERSECTIONS, WHERE THERE ARE OFTEN MANY PEDESTRIANS AND VEHICLES IN CLOSE QUARTERS. ENGINE LIGHT HAS COME ON, MECHANIC SAYS SERVICE CODES INDICATE THROTTLE PROBLEM. HOPE TO HAVE THIS REPAIRED TOMORROW. *TR
CURRENTLY OWN A 2006 FORD FREESTYLE. CAR STARTED ACCELERATING ON OWN. DROVE IT IMMEDIATELY TO A SHOP, FOR FEAR OF DRIVING FAMILY IN IT. TURNS OUT IT IS A FAULTY ELECTRONIC THROTTLE BODY, SIMILAR TO TOYOTA PROBLEMS. SPOKE TO FORD DEALERSHIP SERVICE MANAGER WHO SAID THAT THIS IS A NATIONAL PROBLEM, ON BACKORDER, CURRENTLY THOUGH NO RECALL. INSIST THAT THIS IS A HUGE SAFETY ISSUE, SIMILAR TO TOYOTA'S ISSUES AND FORD SHOULD STAND BEHIND GETTING THIS PROBLEM RESOLVED. DEALERSHIP SAID BACKORDER OF PARTS COULD BE 3-4 WEEKS. NOT SAFE TO DRIVE CAR. EXPENSIVE TO FIX. *TR

THE CONTACT TOOK THE VEHICLE TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHO COULD NOT DUPLICATE THE FAILURE. ON A SEPARATE OCCASION, WHILE AT A STOP LIGHT, THE VEHICLE BEGAN TO ACCELERATE. THE CONTACT SPOKE WITH THE DEALER WHO ADVISED THE PART WAS ON BACK ORDER AND WOULD TAKE MONTHS FOR THE VEHICLE TO BE REPAIRED. THE CURRENT AND FAILURE MILES WERE 70000.
MY 2006 FORD FREESTYLE HAS UNINTENDED ACCELERATION. IT OCCURS WHENEVER THE CAR IS WARMED UP AND YOU ARE SHIFTING FROM PARK TO DRIVE OR REVERSE. IT HAS BEEN OCCURRING FOR 3 MONTHS. FORD SAYS IT'S A KNOWN PROBLEM WITH THE THROTTLE BODY WHICH IS ON NATIONAL BACKORDER. THIS SHOULD BE A RECALL! I'VE READ THAT THIS IS HAPPENING ON MOST FORD FREESTYLES AND FIVE HUNDREDS WITH THE 3.0L ENGINE. *TR
WHEN PULLING INTO PARKING SPACES, OR OUT OF THE DRIVEWAY, AND/OR REDUCING SPEED TO STOP, MY 2006 FORD FREESTYLE 58K WILL SUDDENLY LUNGE FORWARD. WHEN YOU PREVENT THE SUDDEN ACCELERATION BY APPLYING THE BRAKE, THE WRENCH LIGHT WILL COME ON AND SOMETIMES IT WILL STALL. THE FORD DEALER STATED THAT IT WAS CARBON BUILD-UP AND TOLD ME TO PUT A CAN OR TWO OF SEA FOAM IN THE GAS TANK. AFTER RUNNING TWO TANKS OF GAS, PROBLEM STILL PERSISTS. MAJOR SAFETY ISSUE. FORD NEEDS TO SUPPORT THEIR CUSTOMERS AND RECALL/FIX THE DEFECT. *TR
ENGINE STALLS OUT AT HIGHWAY SPEED. HAPPENED WHEN WE FIRST GOT THE CAR SEVERAL TIMES IN 2008, DEALER FIXED SOMETHING AFTER TWO TOW-INS, 2 YEARS LATER SAME THING. DEALER CLAIMS CANNOT FIND ANYTHING WRONG, NO SERVICE BULLETINS. I SUGGEST THE CAR IS UNRELIABLE FOR MY WIFE AND DISABLED SON, MAY NEED TO GET A MORE RELIABLE CAR. THEY AGREE WITH ME! THEY SUGGEST THROTTLE BODY COULD BE BAD BUT IT IS REAL EXPENSIVE AND MAY NOT FIX THE PROBLEM ANYWAY. I DO 10 MINUTES OF INTERNET RESEARCH AND FIND THAT FORD HAS A KNOWN THROTTLE BODY PROBLEM WITH THE EXACT SYMPTOMS WE HAVE HAD NOW FOR 3+ YEARS AND A MAJOR SUPPLIER PROBLEM (AND LONG LOANER CAR EXPENSES WHILE FINDING PART!). FIRST, WHY HAS FORD NOT RECALLED THIS PROBLEM? SECOND, IS IT ETHICAL TO TELL AN OWNER TO JUST KEEP DRIVING THE CAR EVEN THOUGH IT WILL BREAK DOWN, AS THEY TOLD ME TO DO. THIS IS A SAFETY PROBLEM! (SUDDEN DECELERATION WITH NO POWER TO ENGINE, BRAKES AND POWER STEERING AS IT DID ON I-45 LAST THURSDAY LEAVING MY WIFE AND DISABLED SON STRANDED IN THE MIDDLE LANE OF THE FREEWAY). MY 2006 FORD FREESTYLE HAS STARTED TRYING TO RUN AWAY WITH ME WHENEVER I'VE BEEN SITTING IN A PARKING SPACE WITH THE ENGINE ON AND THE AIR CONDITIONING ON. WHEN I PUT THE CAR INTO GEAR EITHER FORWARD OR REVERSE IT SHOOTS OUT OF THE SPACE CAUSING ME TO HAVE TO JAM ON THE BRAKES. THE FIRST TIME THIS HAPPENED LAST JUNE 2010,I CRASHED INTO A CAR THAT WAS PARKED BEHIND ME. IT DID NOT HAPPEN AGAIN FOR SEVERAL WEEKS. WHEN IT HAPPENED AGAIN THE WEATHER WAS EXTREMELY HOT SO, I THOUGHT MAYBE THE HOT WEATHER HAD CAUSED IT. IT DID NOT OCCUR DURING THE WINTER. NOW THAT THE WEATHER IS GETTING HOT IT'S HAPPENING AGAIN. I AM VERY ANXIOUS EVERY TIME I HAVE TO DRIVE ANYWHERE WHEN IT'S HOT OUTSIDE. I TALKED TO MY SON-IN-LAW ABOUT IT AND HE SAID MAYBE IT HAD SOMETHING TO DO WITH THE TRANSMISSION. BUT, THEY CHECK THE TRANSMISSION WHEN THEY CHANGE MY OIL AND HAVE NOT TOLD ME OF ANY PROBLEMS. *TR
WHILE DRIVING THE CAR IT WOULD IDE UP AND THE SPIT AND SPUTTER ALITTLE AFTER WARDS. BRAKE WOULD HARDLY HOLD CAR FROM TAKING OFF. WHILE ON VACATION IT WOULD EITHER TAKE OFF OR DIE. TOOK TO DEALER AND THEY HAD TO REPLACE THE THROTTLE BODY ON IT IF ORD KNOWS OF THIS PROBLEM THEN WHY ARE THEY NOT FIXING IT? IS IT LIKE THE BRAKES? (THERE IS NO PROBLEM WITH THEM EITHER.......) *TR
OUR 2006 FORD FREESTYLE HAS BEEN GIVING US PROBLEMS FOR THE LAST TWO SUMMERS. IT SEEMS THAT WHEN WE RUN THE A/C THE CAR WILL SOMETIMES SURGE FORWARD WHEN PULLING INTO A PARKING SPACE OR COMING TO REST AT A STOPLIGHT/DRIVE-THRU. THERE HAVE BEEN A COUPLE CLOSE CALLS WITH HITTING OTHER VEHICLES IN FRONT OF US. IT HAS ALSO STALLED AND THE TRANSMISSION LIGHT HAS COME ON NUMEROUS TIMES. IT SEEMS THAT WE MUST TURN THE CAR OFF TO REST AND THEN START IT BACK UP FOR THE ISSUE TO BE FIXED. WE ARE NOW VERY CAREFUL WHEN WE RUN THE A/C BECAUSE THIS SEEMS TO AFFECT IT SOMEWHAT. WE RECENTLY TOOK OUR CAR TO THE DEALERSHIP AND THEY TOLD US WE NEEDED TO REPLACE THE THROTTLE BODY WHICH WOULD BE $500 FOR THE PART WITHOUT LABOR. WE SIMPLY CANNOT AFFORD TO FIX THE PROBLEM NOW AND ARE PRAYING FOR SAFETY. WE WILL NO LONGER BUY A FORD AND WHEN CONTACTING FORD WE WERE TOLD THERE WAS NOTHING THEY COULD DO ABOUT THE PROBLEM. *TR
06 FORD FREESTYLE WITH 70K MILES IT WAS BOUGHT ABOUT 4 MONTHS AGO AS IS. THE PROBLEM STARTED ABOUT TWO MONTH AGO WITH THE WRENCH LIGHT AND CHECK LIGHT COMING ON IN THE MORNING. AND IT IS DIFFICULT TO ALMOST IMPOSSIBLE TO ACCELERATE. I HAVE TO DRIVE IT FOR ABOUT 15MINS BEFORE THE LIGHTS GO OUT. MANY OF THE TIMES THAT IT LUNGES IT WILL STALL OR BEGIN TO RUN VERY ROUGH. WE HAVE TO PUT THE CAR IN PARK AND CUT OFF THE CAR AND RESTART. MANY OF THOSE TIMES IT WILL BEGIN TO RUN NORMAL BUT HAVE A INDICATOR LIGHT THAT IT NEEDS MECHANICAL ATTENTION. MY HUSBAND WAS STOPPED AT A RED LIGHT. ALL OF A SUDDEN THE CAR JUST WENT FORWARD THROUGH THE LIGHT, EVEN THOUGH HE WAS HOLDING THE BRAKE PEDAL DOWN. THANKFULLY NO CARS HIT US. WE THOUGHT PERHAPS IT WAS JUST SOMETHING WEIRD THAT HAPPENED. I CONTINUED TO DRIVE IT AND IT HAPPENED TWO MORE TIMES. I CALLED FORD. THEY TOLD ME THAT THERE WAS NO RECALL AND I SHOULD TAKE IT TO A FORD DEALERSHIP TO HAVE IT TESTED. THE DEALERSHIP SAID THAT THEY HAD THIS HAPPEN ON QUITE A FEW OF THEIR CARS, AND THAT EVEN THOUGH THE COMPUTER DIDN'T SHOW ANYTHING, THEY RECOMMENDED THAT WE HAVE A NEW THROTTLE PUT IN THE CAR. WE DID AND PAID $800. TO HAVE IT DONE. WE HAD ALSO TALKED TO A DIFFERENT MECHANIC WHO ALSO CONFIRMED THAT HE HAD QUITE A FEW FORDS COME IN WITH THIS SAME PROBLEM. FORD TOLD US THAT THEY WOULD NOT PAY FOR IT UNLESS THERE WAS A RECALL. THEY CAR WAS NOT SAFE TO DRIVE, THEREFORE WE PAID FOR THE REPAIR. *TR

WE NOTICED AFTER THE FIRST 12-13 MONTHS THAT IT WAS HAVING A SERIOUS ISSUE WITH THE THROTTLE, AS IN... THE CAR WOULD START REVVING WHILE AT IDLE... YOU COULD BE STOPPED AT A STOPLIGHT AND IT WOULD LUNGE SO HARD THAT IT WOULD PUSH ITSELF HALF A CAR LENGTH INTO THE INTERSECTION BEFORE YOU COULD STOP IT. IF IT WERE IN REVERSE IT WOULD LUNGE EVEN HARDER. WE HAD TAKEN IT TO THE DEALERSHIP A COUPLE OF TIMES BUT THE COULD NEVER RECREATE THE ISSUE ACCORDING TO THEM. THEN 1 MONTH OUT OF WARRANTY THEY COULD ALL OF THE SUDDEN RECREATE THE ISSUE AND IT COST US $825 FOR A NEW THROTTLE BODY. WE REPLACED IT, AND WE HAVE KEPT ALL RECEIPTS INCASE OF A RECALL. THE CAR WAS GOOD AGAIN FOR ANOTHER 12 MONTHS, THEN IT STARTS DOING IT AGAIN... AGAIN THE FORD DEALERSHIP CANNOT SEEM TO RECREATE THE ISSUE. THEN TODAY THEY CAN AMAZINGLY ASSESS EVERYTHING AND TELL US THAT WILL COST US $1300+ TO FIX YET ANOTHER THROTTLE CONTROL ISSUE. WHY IS THERE NO RECALL BY THE COMPANY HERE... AFTER SITTING IN PARK FOR 20 MINUTES, MY 2006 FORD FREESTYLE WAS PUT INTO REVERSE TO BACK OUT OF A DRIVEWAY AND QUICKLY ACCELERATED WHILE MY FOOT WAS ON THE BRAKE. ON JUNE 8, 2010 THE CHECK THROTTLE BODY LIGHT AND WRENCH WARNING LIGHT CAME ON AND WE NOTICED A VIBRATION IN THE ENGINE. TOOK VEHICLE IN. THE THROTTLE BODY AND MOTOR MOUNT WERE BOTH REPLACED. COST OF REPAIR WAS $1023.24 THE MILEAGE AT THE TIME OF REPAIR WAS 55,234. A COUPLE OF WEEKS LATER, THE VEHICLE BEGAN TO SURGE UNEXPECTEDLY AT TIMES IN BOTH DRIVE AND REVERSE. AT OTHER TIMES, VEHICLE WOULD HESITATES / HAD LITTLE OR NO PICK-UP WHEN STARTING FROM A STOP. CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON, TOOK VEHICLE IN ON JUNE 22, 2010. AN ENGINE SENSOR WAS REPLACED AND THE PCM WAS REPROGRAMMED. REPAIRS TOTALED $642.61 THE MILEAGE AT TIME OF REPAIRS WAS 55,613. WAS TOLD AT THAT TIME THE FUEL FILTER NEEDED TO BE REPLACED AND A TRANSMISSION FLUSH WAS NECESSARY. REPLACED FUEL FILTER AND HAD TRANSMISSION FLUSH DONE JULY 1, 2010. COST WAS $200.65. MILEAGE WAS 55,695. I READ AN ARTICLE IN THE NEWSPAPERS AND LEARNED THAT OTHERS WERE HAVING SIMILAR PROBLEMS. I WANTED TO BE ON RECORD WITH PROBLEMS THAT WE HAVE HAD WITH THIS CAR. FORD MANUFACTURED CARS WITH ISSUES. THEY SHOULD HAVE TO ADDRESS THOSE ISSUES AND COMPENSATE FOR THE REPAIRS THAT PEOPLE HAD TO PAY FOR. THE REPAIRS THAT HAVE HAD TO BE DONE ON THIS CAR ARE RIDICULOUS.
