TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2006 FORD FUSION. THE CONTACT STATED THAT SHE NOTICED THAT THE PASSENGER SIDE DASHBOARD WAS CRACKED AROUND THE AIR BAG AREA. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER WHERE THE DEALER ADVISED REPLACING THE DASHBOARD. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE ISSUE AND STATED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS NOT UNDER WARRANTY, PROVIDING NO ASSISTANCE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 36,000 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 42,000. TRANSMISSION SLIPPING AT DOWNSHIFT AT AROUND 35 MPH. DEALER CHANGED FLUID. HELPED FOR AROUND 3 WEEKS AND STARTED AGAIN. TODAY 7/24/2012 TRANSMISSION SLIPPED OUT OF GEAR ENTERING HIGHWAY RT 78 AT RT 100 AND ALMOST INVOLVED IN A CRASH, HAD TO PULL ON TO SHOULDER TO AVOID IT. FORD CLEARLY KNOWS OF THE PROBLEMS WITH THE AISIN TRANSMISSION AND SHOULD BE HELD RESPONSIBLE FOR ANY REPAIRS. THE PROBLEM IS WITH VALVE BORE WEAR IN THE MAIN CONTROL OR MEGATRONIC. WHY SHOULD CITIZENS BE MADE TO PAY FOR FAULTY PARTS USED IN CONSTRUCTION ? *TR
THE INTERIOR REAR DOOR HANDLES HAVE BROKEN. I FEEL THIS IS A SAFTEY ISSUE IN EXITING THE VEHICLE, IN THE EVENT OF A CRASH OR FIRE. I WOULD LIKE TO SEE FORD RECALL THIS PART SO NO FURTHER ISSUES ARISE.
I BOUGHT MY 2006 FORD FUSION ON 5/5/12. ON 5/11/12 WE WENT TO GET OUT OF THE CAR & THE FRONT PASSENGER DOOR WOULD NOT SHUT. YOU WOULD GO TO CLOSE IT & IT WOULD JUST BOUNCE BACK OPEN. IT HAD SOMETHING TO DO WITH THE DOOR STRIKER NOT ALIGNING UP. I HAD TO TAKE IT TO A FORD DEALERSHIP TO GET IT FIXED...$350!! THE DEALERSHIP I BOUGHT THE CAR FROM 6 DAYS EARLIER WOULD NOT HELP US AT ALL!! WHY IN THE WORLD WOULD THAT BREAK ON A 6YR OLD CAR!! I HAVE A 25YR OLD CAR THAT HAS NO PROBLEM OPENING & CLOSING THE DOORS!! I'M STARTING TO SEE A TREND WITH THIS CAR. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER WHO STATED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS NOT UNDER WARRANTY AND OFFERED NO ADDITIONAL ASSISTANCE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE VIN WAS NOT AVAILABLE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 90,000 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 97,000.

THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO THE DEALER WHO CONFIRMED THAT THE TRANSMISSION NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS CONTACTED REGARDING BOTH FAILURES. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE VIN WAS UNAVAILABLE. THE FAILURE AND CURRENT MILEAGES WERE 78,000.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2006 FORD FUSION. THE CONTACT STATED THAT SHE ACTIVATED THE CHILD SAFETY LOCK ON THE REAR DRIVER'S SIDE DOOR AND WAS UNABLE TO OPEN IT TO REMOVE A CHILD FROM THE VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER FOR DIAGNOSIS WHERE THE DOOR WAS REPAIRED. A FEW MONTHS LATER, THE CONTACT ATTEMPTED TO OPEN THE DRIVER'S SIDE DOOR AFTER PARKING AND WAS UNABLE TO EXIT THE VEHICLE. A FEW WEEKS LATER, THE REAR DRIVER'S SIDE DOOR FAILED AGAIN. THE DEALER WAS NOTIFIED BUT OFFERED LITTLE ASSISTANCE. THE FAILURE AND CURRENT MILEAGES WERE 67,000.

THE CONTACT COULD ONLY EXIT THE VEHICLE BY OPENING THE DRIVER'S SIDE DOOR WINDOW AND REACHING OUT TO OPEN THE DOOR BY THE EXTERIOR DOOR HANDLE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT TAKEN TO THE DEALER FOR DIAGNOSTICS. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 81,000.
THE TURN SIGNALS AND HIGH BEAMS NO LONGER WORK DURING OPERATION. ALL FUSES AND RELAYS WERE CHECKED AND ALL FINE. THE PARKING LIGHTS DO WORK WHEN HEAD LAMPS ARE ON, WORK WHEN HAZARDS ARE TURNED ON, AND ALSO FLASH WHEN LOCKED WITH KEY FOB. BUT WHEN USING TURN SIGNAL STALK NOTHING HAPPENS AND THEREFORE CAN NOT SIGNAL TO TURN OR CHANGE LANES. ALSO HIGH BEAMS DO NOT ACTIVATE IN ANY POSITION OF THE SIGNAL STALK. THE SJB IS THE SOURCE OF THE PROBLEM. *TR

WE STARTED HAVING PROBLEMS WITH THE TRANSMISSION IN OUR 2006 FORD FUSION IN EARLY 2012. WE REPLACED THE TRANSMISSION IN APRIL WHEN IT HAD ROUGHLY 65,000, WITH A USED TRANSMISSION. IT WAS FINE FOR A FEW MONTHS, AND NOW WE ARE HAVING HARD SHIFTING AND TRANSMISSION SLIPPAGE. THE CAR HAS AROUND 70,000 MILES NOW. I HAVE HEARD OF THIS ISSUE BY MANY FUSION OWNERS, AND FORD REFUSES TO DO ANYTHING ABOUT IT. IT IS IN MY OPINION THAT THE TRANSMISSIONS IN THIS CAR NEED TO BE RECALLED. *TR
06 FORD FUSION. I HAVE BEEN HAVING A CRACKING SOUND IN THE FRONT RIGHT SUSPENSION, TOOK IT IN TO FORD TO GET TIRES DONE, THEY FOUND THAT MY FRONT SUBFRAME WELDS HAVE CRACKED AND IT WOULD COST 1500 TO FIX WITH A USED PART, THE COMPLAINT IS , WHEN I CAME HOME AND RESEARCHED THIS ISSUE, I HAVE FOUND TONS AND TONS OF COMPLAINT WITH THIS SAME ISSUE, IT APPEARS TO BE A FAILURE OF FORD TO HAVE A CORRECT WELD PLACED IN THIS AREA, I BELIEVE WE NEED TO HAVE THIS INVESTIGATED AND LOOKED AT, THE SUBFRAME WELD THAT HAS BROKE IS WHERE THE FRONT LOWER CONTROL ARM HATCHES TO THE FRAME, WITH THIS BUSTED AND POORLY WELDED WE ARE LOOKING AT SUSPENSION COMING APART AND CREATING AN ACCIDENT AND DEATHS I AM ASKING FOR A RECALL TO BE MADE. *TR
THE FRONT INTERIOR PASSENGER DOOR HANDLE SNAPPED AND NOW CANNOT BE OPENED FROM THE INSIDE. THIS SAME DEFECT HAPPENED TO THE REAR DRIVER SIDE DOOR HANDLE ABOUT 1 YEAR AGO. THIS IS A MAJOR SAFETY ISSUE. WE CANNOT GET OUT OF THE PASSENGER SIDE FRONT SEAT WITHOUT OPENING THE DOOR FROM THE OUTSIDE. *TR
THE CAR WENT INTO "LIMP" MODE FOR NO REASON. VEHICLE WOULD NOT GO FASTER THEN 20MPH. THIS COLD OF CAUSED AN ACCIDENT. TOOK TO LOCAL SHOP AND WAS TOLD A SENSOR IN THE ELECTRONIC THROTTLE BODY WAS BAD AND THEREFORE COULD NOT READ THROTTLE POSITION ACCURATELY, SENDING THE CAR INTO "LIMP" MODE. NEW THROTTLE BODY COST $600. IF THIS WOULD OF HAPPENED AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS THIS WOULD OF BEEN A SERIOUS SAFETY ISSUE DUE TO NOT BEING ABLE TO CONTROL VEHICLE SPEED WITHOUT ANY NOTICE. *TR
TRANSMISSION JUMPS AT LOW SPEED SOMETIMES, AS IF IT WAS TRYING TO GO INTO THE NEXT GEAR BUT MISSES. IT WILL GRAB ALL AT ONCE AND IT FEELS LIKE THE ENGINE IS GOING TO JUMP OUT OF THE CAR. WE NOW HAVE A RUMBLING LIKE A BEARING IS GOING OUT. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2006 FORD FUSION. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING AT VARIOUS SPEEDS AND GOING OVER BUMPS, A LOUD NOISE WAS HEARD IN THE FRONT END. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC. AFTER DIAGNOSIS, THEY ADVISED HIM THAT THE WELDS WERE FRACTURED AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS LATER CONTACTED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 82,000. THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 101,000. THE VIN WAS UNAVAILABLE.
TRANSMISSION PROBLEMS. DAUGHTER WAS DRIVING CAR AND BACKING UP FROM DRIVE IT POPPED AND WOULD NOT MOVE IN DRIVE. IT WOULD REVERSE AND DRIVE SLOW AT LOWER GEAR, BUT NOT DRIVE IN D. MECHANIC SAID GEARS ARE FINE AND NOT TRANSMISSION , BUT CONFIRMED MAY BE SENSOR IN TRANSMISSION. FROM READING SIMILAR COMLAINTS, IT IS WIDESPREAD PROBLEM AND A POTENTIAL ROAD HAZARD. RECALLS HAVE BEEN DONE ON SAME MAKE AND MODEL, BUT FROM 2007 - CURRENT. WHY ISNT THE 2006 COVERED? THE AUTO MECHANIC HAS BROUGHT VEHICLE TO 3 DIFF AUTO SHOPS AND PROBLEM IS THAT IT IS A MAZDA ENGINE WITH GERMAN PARTS IN A FORD CAR AND NOT FAMILIAR WITH PARTS. FORD DEALER WAS CONTACTED AND ALSO FORD PRODUCT COMPLAINT LINE. ALL THEY WOULD SAY WAS THERE ARE NO RECALLS FOR 2006 FORD FUSIONS. WHY??? THE AUTO SHOPS INSIST ON REPLACING ENTIRE TRANSMISSION TO WARRANTY THEIR WORK AND CHARGE $2500+ WHEN ALL IS NEEDED IS A PART FOR LESS $. *TR
SHIFTS SO HARD IT FELLS LIKE ENGINE WILL DROP ALSO LOSES POWER AND ALMOST CAUSED AN ACCIDENT ON HIGHWAY. *TR
I BOUGHT THE CAR IN APRIL OF 2011 AND THE TRANSMISSION WAS SLIPPING A LITTLE. I HAD A MECHANIC, WHICH WAS A PREVIOUS FORD MECHANIC, TOLD ME FORD HAD A RECALL ON THE TRANSMISSION FOR THAT TYPE OF CAR. I THEN CALLED THE DEALERSHIP TO HAVE THEM CHECK THE VIN# TO SEE IF MY CAR HAS THE RECALL. THE DEALERSHIP SAID THERE WAS NO RECALL. BUT AS I RESEARCHED IT, I FOUND OUT THAT THERE WERE OTHER VEHICLES OF THE SAME MAKE AND MODEL AS MINE AND EXPERIENCING THE SAME PROBLEM. I DO NOT UNDERSTAND WHY MY VEHICLE DOESN'T HAVE ANY DEFECT EVEN THOUGH THERE ARE MANY OTHERS LIKE THIS. *TR
2006 FORD FUSION SEL V6 AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION WHEN TRYING TO ACCELERATE TO ENTER THE HIGHWAY MY CAR JERKED VIOLENTLY WHEN IT SLAMMED ITSELF INTO GEAR IT MADE A VERY LOUD NOISE WHEN IT SHIFTED. I ALMOST LOST CONTROL OF MY VEHICLE. I TOOK THE CAR TO A DEALERSHIP TO REPAIR THEY SAID IT WAS THE THROTTLE BODY AND I HAVE IT REPLACED. LESS THAN 30 MINUTES OF LEAVING THE DEALERSHIP IT DID IT AGAIN . I HAD THE DEALERSHIP PICK UP THE CAR BECAUSE OF THE DEFECTIVE TRANSMISSION AND NOW THEY AGREE IT NEEDS TO BE REPLACED. HOWEVER, I DID FURTHER RESEARCH AND I HAVE FOUND THAT MANY CONSUMERS HAVE THE SAME COMPLAINT AS MINE AND THEIR ARE MANY SIGHTS AVAILABLE. WHY HASN'T FORD RECALLED THIS TRANSMISSION. TO AD MORE SALT IN MY WOUND MY INSURANCE COMPANY IS CHOOSING TO USE A USED 2006 TRANSMISSION FROM 2006 FORD FUSION SEL WITH 48,000 MILES ON IT AND TO TOP IT OFF THE CAR TAT THIS TRANSMISSION IS COMING FROM WAS T-BONED AND TOTALED THANKS GEICO SO NOW IM NOT A THE MERCY OR FORD BUT GEICO SO NOW I HAVE TO GET RID OF MY CAR BECAUSE I AM SCARED THAT HIS WILL OCCUR AGAIN. THE DEALER DIAGNOSED THAT THE POWER TRAN CONTROL MODULE WAS DEFECTIVE AND NEEDED REPAIR. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED, BUT TOLD THE CONTACT THAT THE VIN WAS NOT ASSOCIATED IN ANY RECALLS. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 52,000 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 52,082.
WHILE DRIVING ON THE ON RAMP TO GET ON THE INTERSTATE. WHEN I WENT TO ACCELERATE THE CAR JERKED VIOLENTLY ALMOST CAUSING ME TO LOOSE CONTROL OF MY VEHICLE. THIS CONTINUED UNTIL I COULD GET OF THE HIGHWAY. WHEN COMING TO A STOP AND TRYING TO ACCELERATE TO PROCEED FORWARD THE CAR CONTINUED JERKING VIOLENTLY AND NOW I AM SCARED TO DRIVE MY CAR. I CONTACTED FORD NO RECALL ON THIS PROBLEM, THEN I DID FURTHER RESEARCH AND I NOTICED THAT THERE WAS SEVERAL COMPLAINTS REGARDING THIS ISSUE WITH THIS MODEL. I COULD HAVE BEEN KILLED TODAY AS THIS IS A DANGEROUS DEFECT. IF YOU GOOGLE FORD FUSION 2006 SEL V6 JERKING DURING ACCELERATION YOU WILL SEE THOUSANDS OF REPORTS. *TR
FIRST THE REAR DRIVER'S SIDE INTERIOR DOOR HANDLE BROKE WHEN MY GRANDDAUGHTER WAS ATTEMPTING TO OPEN IT. RECENTLY THE FRONT DRIVER'S SIDE INTERIOR DOOR HANDLE BROKE. THE FAKE CHROME IS PEELING OFF OF THE PASSENGER SIDE BOTH FRONT AND REAR DOOR HANDLES. IT WAS PEELING OFF OF THE TWO HANDLES THAT BROKE BUT I NEVER THOUGHT THAT THEY WOULD BREAK. ALTHOUGH I AM ABLE TO OPEN THE WINDOW TO ACCESS THE EXTERIOR DOOR HANDLE TO OPEN THE DOOR IN MOST CASES, THE WINDOWS DON'T ALWAYS OPEN IN THE COLD WEATHER AND THE DOOR IS VERY DIFFICULT TO OPEN USING THE BROKEN DOOR HANDLE. I AM CONCERNED I OR A PASSENGER WILL BE STUCK IN THE VEHICLE AND NOT BE ABLE TO GET OUT IN AN EMERGENCY. *TR
I TOO HAVE A 2006 FORD FUSION SE WITH A SMARTBOX MALFUNCTION. MY DRIVER'S SIDE DIRECTIONAL SIGNAL DOESN'T WORK. MY MECHANIC SAID HE CHECKED ALL THE WIRES LENDING TO THE BOX AND THEY ARE FINE, IT'S THE BOX. IT WILL COST AROUND $600 TO REPLACE. FORD NO LONGER MAKES THIS PART, SO HE HAS TO SEARCH JUNKYARDS FOR IT. HE CAN'T REROUTE THE WIRES BECAUSE THE DIRECTIONAL SIGNAL IN THE BACK IS LOCATED IN THE PLACE WHERE HE WOULD REROUTE IT. I NOW HAVE A VEHICLE THAT WILL NOT PASS INSPECTION, THAT I CAN'T DRIVE "SAFELY" AND IF THE PART IS FOUND I WILL HAVE TO TAKE OUT A LOAN JUST TO PAY TO GET FIXED. WHY! *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2000 FORD FUSION. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE HESITATED TO SHIFT INTO GEAR WHEN SHE ATTEMPTED TO ACCELERATE FROM A STOP. THE VEHICLE EVENTUALLY JERKED INTO GEAR AND BEGAN TO ACCELERATE. THE FAILURE RECURRED INTERMITTENTLY. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN AUTHORIZED DEALER AND THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THE VEHICLE NEEDED A NEW TRANSMISSION. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 47,000.
MY TRANSMISSION IS SLIPPING A LOT. I WILL BE ACCELERATING MY SPEED AND ALL OF THE SUDDEN MY CAR ACTS LIKE IT IS IN NEUTRAL. BOUGHT THE CAR IN 2008 W/ 65,000 MILES. WITHIN A FEW MONTHS OF PURCHASE NOTICED VERY VIOLENT UPSHIFTS WHILE ON THE FREEWAY AND OCCASIONALLY THE CAR WOULD SLIP INTO NEUTRAL WHILE TRAVELING @ 65-70MPH (VERY SCARY). TOOK CAR TO DEALERSHIP WHILE UNDER USED CAR WARRANTY AND WAS TOLD NOTHING WAS WRONG AND IT WAS THE WAY I WAS DRIVING. WE STARTED FILING COMPLAINTS WITH FORD BUT THEY WERE OF NO HELP AND THEY HAVE TOLD US THAT THE TRANS NEEDS TO BE REPLACED. TWO YEARS LATER (@75K MILES) THE TRANSMISSION COMPLETELY FAILED WHILE DRIVING (VERY DANGEROUS). I BOUGHT A 2006 FORD FUSION AND NOT EVEN A MONTH LATER THE INSIDE DRIVER SIDE HANDLE CRACKED. I CANT LOCK MY DOOR WHILE DRIVING OR WHEN I'M PARKED AND I'M AFRAID IT'S GOING TO MAKE IT TO WHERE I CAN'T GET OUT IN CASE OF AN EMERGENCY! *TR
SINCE I BOUGHT THE CAR IN SPRING OF 06, BULBS NEED TO BE REPLACED QUITE FREQUENTLY. WHEN I CHANGE THEM, THE OLD BULB LOOKS BLACK AND BURNT. A FEW DAYS AGO, I WAS DRIVING AND MY FRONT, RIGHT DIRECTIONAL STOPPED WORKING. I REPLACED THE BULB, THINKING THAT WAS THE ISSUE AGAIN, BUT IT WASN'T. I TOOK IT TO THE DEALERSHIP AND THEY SAID THE SMART JUNCTION BOX NEEDED TO BE REPLACED BECAUSE IT SHORTED OUT INTERNALLY. ESTIMATE IS $600 AFTER I HAD TO PAY $100 JUST TO FIND THE PROBLEM. THAT SEEMS LIKE AN EXPENSIVE FIX FOR ONE DIRECTIONAL. I CAN'T AFFORD THAT RIGHT NOW, SO I CAN'T FIX IT. SEEMS RIDICULOUS. CAR HAS 85,000 MILES ON IT. *TR
TRANSMISSION WENT COMPLETELY OUT OF GEAR WHEN EXITING THE TURNPIKE AND ENTERING THE HIGHWAY. THE TRANSMISSION HAD BEEN SLIPPING INTERMITTENTLY FOR MONTHS.
ALL OF THE INTERIOR DOOR HANDLES ON MY 2006 FUSION WITH 72000 MILES HAVE CRACKED AND ARE BREAKING. NORMAL USE, BUT THE HANDLES ARE MADE OF AN INFERIOR PLASTIC WITH CHROME COLORED COATING. THE RESULT IS THAT ONCE BREAKAGE OCCURS, DOORS ARE ONLY ABLE TO BE OPENED USING THE OUTSIDE HANDLE AND DOOR LOCKS HAVE TO BE MANUALLY ENGAGED. I AM VERY CONCERNED ABOUT ABILITY TO EXIT THE CAR IF IN AN ACCIDENT. *TT
FRONT DRIVER'S SIDE INDICATOR/HAZARD LIGHT NOT WORKING. LEFT REAR DRIVER SIDE WORKS. CONSENSUS IS EITHER A SMART JUNCTION BOX OR HEADLIGHT HARNESS. COST OF REPAIRS AROUND $600 NOT INCLUDING LABOR. VERY COSTLY FOR ONE TURN SIGNAL. BIG MISTAKE ON FORD'S PART.
PURCHASED 2006 FORD FUSION SEL 6 CYL, NEW. AND ABOUT YEAR AGO STARTING HAVING TRANSMISSION PROBLEMS. UPON ACCELERATING BETWEEN 25-40, THE TRANSMISSION JUMPS IN AND OUT OF GEAR, OFTEN MAKING A LOUD BANGING NOISE AND TAKING AWAY ALL ACCELERATION. IN ORDER FOR IT TO GET BACK INTO GEAR, YOU HAVE TO COMPLETELY LET OF THE GAS AND IT WILL EVENTUALLY GO BACK INTO GEAR. THIS ALLOWS FOR MINIMAL ACCELERATOR AT BEST WHEN TRYING TO SPEED UP. THIS FAILURE OCCURS RANDOMLY EVERYTIME I DRIVE THE VEHICLE. IF NOT FIXED, THE TRANSMISSION IN MY CAR WILL EVENTUALLY GO BAD. DUE TO NO CODES SHOWING UP ON THE COMPUTER, THAT ON THE FORD BULLETIN IT WAS GOING TO NEED A NEW VALVE BODY, TRANSMISSION FLUSH, AND REPROGRAMMING. THIS IS GOING TO COST ROUGHLY $2200. THE VALVE BODY, FROM FORD, WAS $1400. I GOT INTO AN ACCIDENT IN MARCH OF THIS YEAR DUE TO NOT BEING ABLE TO ACCELERATE FROM ANOTHER VEHICLE MERGING INTO MY LANE,TRANSMISSION JUMPED OUT GEAR. *TR

06 FORD FUSION DOESN'T SHIFT - I WAS TRAVELING WITH MY DAUGHTER FROM NV TO AZ. AFTER HAVING DRIVEN 2 HOURS I EXITED THE HIGHWAY, STOPPED AT A STOP SIGN AND WAS ABLE TO TRAVEL APPROXIMATELY A 100 FEET WHEN OUT OF NO WHERE THE ENGINE REVVED UP TO 5000 RPMS AND STOPPED MOVING. THE VEHICLES BEHIND ME WERE CAUGHT OFF GUARD BECAUSE OF MY SUDDEN STOP IN THE MIDDLE OF THE ROAD. I TRIED PUSHING THE GAS PEDAL TO GET US TO THE ROADSIDE BEFORE BEING REAR-ENDED. THE ENGINE KEPT REVVING UP AND CREEPING TOWARD THE SIDE. I PULLED TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD TO LET THE CARS BEHIND ME PASS AND WAITED 5 MINUTES BEFORE DECIDING I WAS NOT GOING TO HAVE MY DAUGHTER AND I IN THE MIDDLE OF THE NIGHT STRANDED ON THE SIDE OF THE ROAD. I PUSHED THE GAS PEDAL AND GOT THE CAR TO VERY SLOWLY ACCELERATE AND MOVE WITHOUT SHIFTING BUT CATCHING SPEED. ONCE THE CAR WAS MOVING AT 60 MPH THERE WEREN'T ANY PROBLEMS, BUT IF I HAD TO SLOW DOWN OR COME TO A STOP THE CAR WOULD TAKE FOREVER TO BEGIN CATCHING SPEED. I WAS ABLE TO GET US TO A SAFE PLACE 25 MINS AWAY AND PARKED THE CAR UNTIL THE NEXT DAY. BECAUSE IT WAS A SMALL TOWN AND A SATURDAY THERE WERE NO MECHANICS AVAILABLE UNTIL MONDAY. I HAD TO STAY THE WEEKEND WAITING FOR A MECHANIC. WHILE WAITING I DID A GOOGLE SEARCH AND DISCOVERED THE HORRIFYING FACT THAT FORD IS FULLY AWARE OF THIS ISSUE CAUSED BY THEM PURCHASING TRANSMISSIONS WITH FAULTY VALVE'S. I AM A SINGLE MOTHER AND IT IS UNBELIEVABLE TO ME THAT FORD CAN GET AWAY WITH SELLING A FAULTY PRODUCT. I AM TAKING MY CAR TO A TRANSMISSION MECHANIC THAT WAS REFERRED BY A FRIEND WHERE I AM GOING TO DETERMINE IF THIS ISSUE CAN EVEN BE FIXED. I ONLY HAVE 10 PAYMENTS LEFT ON THE CAR AND AM DUMBFOUNDED THAT I MIGHT HAVE TO SPEND 1/2 OF WHAT I OWE ON THE CAR TO FIX A PROBLEM THAT FORD CAUSED. 2006 FORD FUSION PASSENGER SEAT BELT LOCKED AND WOULD NOT RELEASE. THE FASTEN SEAT BELT WARNING KEPT ALARMING BUT THE SEAT BELT WAS BUCKLED AND LOCKED. MY HUSBAND PUT PRESSURE BY PULLING ON IT AND IT RELEASED ON ITS OWN. IT WORK FOR 2 DAYS THEN LOCKED AGAIN AND WE CAN NOT GET IT OPEN. *TR

I SUFFERED THE BASIC SAME COMPLAINTS WITH THE TRANS SLIPPING OUT OF GEAR AFTER FREEWAY DRIVING AND HAVING IT SLAM BACK INTO GEAR. IT USUALLY HAPPENS WHEN I LET OFF THE THROTTLE AND NEED TO RE-ACCELERATE. I HAVE BEEN LUCKY SO FAR I USUALLY CAN GET IT TO RE-ENGAGE IN GEAR WITHOUT CAUSING ANY PROBLEMS BEHIND ME. ONE TIME IT LOCKED INTO A HIGH GEAR AND I ALMOST BURNED UP THE CLUTCH BECAUSE IT WOULD NOT DOWNSHIFT WHEN I GOT OFF THE FREEWAY. I PULLED OVER TO THE SHOULDER TO FIGURE OUT WHAT TO DO AND WHILE I WAS STOPPED I TURNED OFF THE MOTOR. WHEN I TURNED IT BACK ON APPROX 5 MINS LATER IT HAD RESET ITSELF AND I WAS ABLE TO DRIVE HOME FINE. THIS IS HOW MY COMMUTE IS BASICALLY EVERY DAY NOW, IT SEEMS TO HAPPEN MORE OFTEN IN THE AFTERNOON COMMUTE WHEN THE WEATHER IS WARMER. (ON A SIDE NOTE IF YOU GET STRUCK SOMEWHERE, ALLOW THE CAR SIT FOR 5 MINS WITH KEY OFF ALLOWING IT TO RESET AND IT MIGHT ALLOW YOU TO ARRIVE SOMEWHERE SAFE). *TR
TL* CONTACT OWNS A 2006 FORD FUSION. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE FRONT PASSENGER AND BOTH REAR INTERIOR DOOR HANDLES BECAME FRACTURED WHEN ENGAGED. IN ADDITION, THE CONTACT WAS DRIVING 55 MPH WHEN THE VEHICLE FAILED TO RESPOND TO ACCELERATION ATTEMPTS OVER 55 MPH. THE SEAT BELT MECHANISM ALSO FAILED AND THE CONTACT WAS UNABLE TO SECURE THE SEAT BELT. THE CONTACT TOOK THE VEHICLE TO THE DEALER WHERE THE TRANSMISSION WAS REPLACED. THE INTERIOR DOOR HANDLES AND THE SEAT BELT WERE NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 55,000.

EARLY MAY 2011 I WAS DRIVING HOME AT 65MPH AND I LOST 5TH GEAR. THEN 4TH GEAR. ON WAY TO DEALERSHIP I LOST 3RD GEAR. WARRANTY COVERED A BRAND NEW TRANSMISSION. THEY CLAIM AFTER A WEEK THEY FINALLY GOT THE TRANSMISSION IN AND INSTALLED BUT THEY WERE WAITING ON A PART FOR IT BECAUSE THE TRANSMISSION CAME WITH A PART FOR A MAZDA 6 AND WOULDN'T WORK. AFTER TWO WEEKS THEY WERE FINALLY DONE. TOOK VEHICLE BACK TO DEALERSHIP ON 09/26/2011 STATING GREAT DIFFICULTY GETTING VEHICLE TO SHIFT OUT OF PARK. ALSO STATED THERE IS AN EXCESSIVE AMOUNT OF HEAT COMING FROM THE CONSOLE IN TO THE CABIN ABOVE THE TRANSMISSION. ALSO STATED THE TRANSMISSION IS SHIFTING VERY HARD AT TIMES. FORD CALLED TODAY AND STATED THE TRANSMISSION HAS NO PROBLEMS AT ALL AND THAT I CAN'T GET OUT OF PARK BECAUSE THE SHIFT INTERLOCK SYLIONID NEEDED TO BE REPLACED REQUIRING THAT EVERYTHING FROM THE SHIFTER AND EVERYTHING BELOW ALL THE WAY TO THE FLOORBOARD WOULD HAVE TO BE REPLACED COSTING OVER $400. I HAVE FOUND HUNDREDS OF COMPLAINTS ONLINE *TT
MY AIR HAS QUIT WORKING FOR THE SECOND TIME IN 2 YRS IN MY 2006 FORD FUSION. I TOOK IT TO HAVE IT SERVICED THE TECH SAID THAT THERE WAS NOTHING HE COULD DO. THAT HE HAD SEVERAL OTHER FORD FUSIONS WITH THE SAME PROBLEM. HE SAID THAT THE A/C COMPRESSOR WON'T TURN ON. THE A/C EVAPORATOR DISCHARGE AIR TEMPERATURE SENSOR MAY HAVE WENT BAD.
