UPON ATTEMPTING TO TRADE IN THE VEHICLE I WAS INFORMED THAT IT IS WORTH ONE THIRD OF THE BOOK VALUE SINCE THE AIR BAG IS APPARENTLY UNDER RECALL AND FORD IS OFFERING NO FIX FOR THIS PROBLEM SO I AM LEFT DRIVING A DANGEROUS VEHICLE THAT I CANNOT SELL OR TRADE. "NO REMEDY" IS NOT AN ACCEPTABLE ANSWER.

ENGINE JERKS WHEN ACCELERATING OR DRIVING AND SOMETIMES WHEN VEHICLE IS IDLE
2006 FORD FUSION DRIVER SIDE (FRONT LEFT) DOOR HANDLE IS PLASTIC AND BREAKS OFF AT THE GEAR RATCHET COG LEAVING THE DRIVER UNABLE TO OPEN DOOR EXCEPT FROM OUTSIDE THE AUTO. POOR MATERIAL AND DESIGN OF THE HANDLE IS A TROUBLE SPOT THAT MANY FUSION OWNERS ARE EXPERIENCING. THIS SHOULD BE A MAJOR ITEM TO HAVE A RECALL IN EFFECT. PLEASE INVESTIGATE THIS ITEM AND IS IN ALMOST ALL YEAR FUSIONS.

KEEP GETTING RUN A ROUND WITH PHIL LONG FORD ( TAKATA RECALL ) NOTHING HAPPEN TO MY CAR YET PHIL LONG FORD WILL NOT HONOR RECALL ALMOST ONE YEAR HAS PASS.
TAKATA RECALL - I RECEIVED A LETTER JULY 2016 STATING THAT MY AIRBAG NEEDED TO BE REPLACED IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE NATIONAL TRAFFIC AND MOTOR VEHICLE SAFETY ACT. I HAVE BEEN WITH TWO FORD DEALERS SINCE THEN, BUT THEY SAID EVERY TIME I BROUGHT MY CAR IN FOR AN OIL CHANGE THAT THE REPLACEMENT AIRBAG WAS NOT AVAILABLE. I JUST ENTERED MY VIN INTO THE NHTSA WEBSITE AND IT STATES THAT MY CAR DOES NEED THE AIRBAG REPLACED SINCE IT COULD RUPTURE ON IMPACT, BUT THE REMEDY IS NOT AVAILABLE YET. I AM VERY CONCERNED SINCE I'M DRIVING WITH AN AIRBAG THAT IS KNOWN TO CAUSE DANGER AND DEATH IF DEPLOYED. I WANT MY AIRBAG FIXED ASAP. IT'S BEEN OVER A YEAR THAT I'VE BEEN FORCED TO DRIVE IN DANGER. PLEASE PROVIDE THE REMEDY NOW.
WHILE DRIVING THE CAR ON THE HIGHWAY AT TYPICAL HIGHWAY SPEEDS (60MPH-70MPH) THE WRENCH INDICATOR LIGHT COMES ON IN THE DASHBOARD AND THE CAR LOOSES THE ABILITY TO ACCELERATE ANY FASTER THAN ABOUT 10 MILES AN HOUR. WE PULL OVER, TURN THE CAR OFF AND START IT BACK UP AGAIN AND IT APPEARS TO RUN FINE. THIS CAN HAPPEN RANDOMLY ONE DAY AND THEN NOT HAPPEN AGAIN FOR A FEW WEEKS OR EVEN A MONTH OR TWO THEN IT DOES IT AGAIN. BASED ON MY RESEARCH COMPARING OTHER DRIVERS POSTING ABOUT THE SAME PROBLEM I BELIEVE THIS PROBLEM IS DUE TO A DEFECTIVE THROTTLE BODY OR WHAT IS SOMETIMES CALLED THE ETB = ELECTRONIC THROTTLE BODY. THE PROBLEM IS THE RESULT OF THE COMPUTER AND SENSORS SENDING BAD SIGNALS TO THE THROTTLE BODY MECHANISM WHICH THEN AFFECTS THE AIR/GAS MIXTURE AND ADVERSELY AFFECTS ACCELERATION, THIS IS DANGEROUS AND A SAFETY ISSUE. THERE WAS A RECALL ON DEFECTIVE THROTTLE BODIES FOR FORD FUSIONS BUT IT ONLY INCLUDED 2009 MODELS AND LATER MODELS, BUT IT DID NOT INCLUDE 2006 MODELS. I HAVE READ OF OTHER PEOPLE IN EARLIER MODEL CARS FROM AS EARLY AS 2005 POSTING ON FORUMS THAT THEY HAD THE SAME ISSUE, SO I BELIEVE THIS WASN'T ONLY A PROBLEM ON 2009'S AND LATER. FORD ISSUES AN EXTENDED WARRANTY ON THE FUSION OF TEN YEARS OR 150,000 MILES. I DON'T KNOW THE NAME OF THE SPECIFIC RECALL OTHER THAN A REFERENCE TO CONSUMER SATISFACTION PROGRAM 13N03. THE PROBLEM SOMETIMES IS REFERRED AS THE "LIMP HOME" MODE. IN CONCLUSION, I WOULD LIKE OUR 2006 FORD FUSION TO BE INCLUDED OR QUALIFIED IN THE RECALL SO I CAN FIX THIS PROBLEM OR AT LEAST GET REIMBURSED ONCE I GET IT FIXED SINCE IT IS A DEFECT WITH THE CAR.

I HAD AN ACCIDENT LAST WEEK THE BOARD HAS THE RUBBER OUTSIDE, I HAVE MORE THAN A YEAR WAITING, I DO NOT LIKE TO DRIVE LIKE THIS AND THEY TELL ME THAT I HAVE TO WAIT AND THEY DO NOT HAVE A CAR AVAILABLE TO USE, THEY DO NOT KNOW WHEN THE PARTS ARRIVE. THE CONTACT RECEIVED NOTIFICATION OF NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 16V384000 (AIR BAGS) AND STATED THAT THE PART WAS NOT AVAILABLE WITHIN A REASONABLE TIME FRAME TO SCHEDULE THE RECALL REPAIR. AN UNKNOWN DEALER DID NOT GIVE A SPECIFIC DATE FOR WHEN THE PART WOULD BECOME AVAILABLE AND STATED MONTHS AGO THAT THE CONTACT WOULD NEED TO WAIT TO RECEIVE A SECOND LETTER. THE MANUFACTURER WAS CONTACTED AND COULD NOT PROVIDE A REASONABLE DATE FOR WHEN THE VEHICLE WOULD RECEIVE THE RECALL REPAIR. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE AIR BAG INDICATOR ILLUMINATED AND THE FRONT PASSENGER AIR BAG WAS PROTRUDING OUT OF POSITION. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS NOT AVAILABLE. VIN TOOL CONFIRMS PARTS NOT AVAILABLE.
I WAS ON A CITY STREET, IN MOTION, GOING ABOUT 10-15 MPH. I WAS BRAKING IN A CONSTRUCTION ZONE, WHILE GOING OVER A BUMP WHERE THE PAVEMENT DROPPED. IT FELT LIKE THE ABS ENGAGED, THEN THE BRAKE PEDAL WENT TO THE FLOOR. I PULLED INTO A NEARBY PARKING LOT WHERE I COULD TEST THE BRAKES. I WAS ABLE TO PUMP UP THE BRAKES, APPLY PRESSURE, BUT THEN LOST THE BRAKE PEDAL AGAIN. I REPEATED THIS PROCESS PROBABLY A DOZEN TIMES UNTIL FINALLY I HAD NORMAL BRAKING AGAIN. TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2004 (NA) FORD FUSION. WHILE DRIVING THE VEHICLE, SMOKE APPEARED AND THE VEHICLE STALLED. THE VEHICLE CAUGHT FIRE WITHOUT WARNING. A POLICE REPORT WAS NOT FILED AND THERE WERE NO INJURIES. THE FIRE DEPARTMENT EXTINGUISHED THE FIRE. THE CONTACT PREVIOUSLY CALLED A LOCAL DEALER (CRAIN FORD OF LITTLE ROCK LOCATED AT 4601 COLONEL GLENN PLAZA DRIVE 72116 501-542-6041) STATED THAT THE PARTS FOR THE REPAIR WERE ON BACKORDER. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 60,000.
WHILE DRIVING MY ENGINE INTERMITTENTLY SHUTS OFF. THE CAR WILL STILL BE "ON". IN THE SENSE THAT THE AC AND RADIO AND OTHER FEATURES ARE STILL WORKING, BUT THE CAR WILL NOT ACCELERATE OR MOVE. I HAVE TO PUT IT IN PARK. AND RESTART IT. "CHECK ENGINE" AND "CHECK CHARGING SYSTEM" INDICATOR LIGHTS POP UP ON THE DASH. I HAVE DONE SEVERAL THINGS, CHANGE BELTS, CHANGED ALTERNATORS, CHANGED CAM SHAFTS, AND FINALLY AFTER THAT THOUSAND DOLLARS WAS SPENT THE CODE I'M GETTING READ FROM MY MECHANIC IS FOR THE THROTTLE BODY SHUT DOWN.
STILL WAITING FOR APPROVAL TO TAKE CAR TO DEALER FOR FIXING THE AIRBAGS. I CALLED AND THEY SAID WAIT FOR ANOTHER LETTER TO AUTHORIZE THE REPAIRS. NEXT CALL, I WAS TOLD THEY DID NOT HAVE THE PARTS.

THE AIR BAGS DEPLOYED. THERE WERE NO INJURIES. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC. A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. NOW MONTHS AFTER FIRST RECEIVING MY RECALL NOTICE TO CONTACT MY LOCAL FORD DEALERSHIP (WHICH I DID AT THAT TIME) I STILL CANNOT GET AN APPOINTMENT FOR THE PART REPLACEMENT OF THE AIRBAG INFLATOR. I REALIZE THE SITUATION OF THE INFLATOR MANUFACTURER BEING OVERRUN WITH THE REPLACEMENT ORDERS, BUT OUR NEED STILL EXISTS AS CUSTOMERS FOR THE SAFETY OF OUR FAMILIES. FORD HAS AN ETHICAL AND FIDUCIARY RESPONSIBILITY TO ITS CUSTOMERS IN THIS. WHAT CAN YOU DO TO ASSIST WE CUSTOMERS LEFT WITH POTENTIAL HARM TO OUR FAMILIES? THANK-YOU.
TAKATA RECALL (16V-384). I RECEIVED A LETTER ONE YEAR AGO (JUL 2016) REGARDING THIS RECALL. I AM STILL OPERATING THIS CAR ON A DAILY BASIS. THIS MODEL DOES NOT HAVE AN OFF SWITCH FOR THE PASSENGER SIDE FRONT AIR BAG SO I CANNOT HAVE A FRONT PASSENGER RIDE SAFELY WITH ME IN THIS CAR AS IT STANDS NOW. CAN YOU AT LEAST HAVE A FORD MECHANIC INSTALL AN OFF SWITCH FOR THIS DANGEROUS AIR BAG AT LEAST UNTIL A TOTAL RECALL CAN BE PERFORMED? IF NOT, I EXPECT THIS RECALL (16V-384) TO BE ACCOMPLISHED VERY SOON BECAUSE HAVING TO WAIT OVER A YEAR WOULD BE EXTREMELY IRRESPONSIBLE ON YOUR PART. PLEASE GET THIS DONE NOW. THANK YOU! "TAKATA RECALL" I HAVE RECEIVED A LETTER IN JULY 2016 AND IT IS NOW AUG 2017 FOR THE AIR BAG ISSUE FOR MY CAR. IT IS A CAR MY DAUGHTER DRIVES. THIS IS A YEAR LATER AND THERE IS STILL NO PARTS TO FIX MY CAR. THIS IS A DANGEROUS ISSUE. IS THERE ANYTHING THAT CAN BE DONE TO CORRECT THIS ISSUE.

TAMARA RECALL I WAS NEVER CONTACTED BY THE DEALER. I WAS TOLD ABOUT THE RECALL FROM A FRIEND. WHEN I DID CALL MY DEALER , I WAS TOLD I HAD TO WAIT TO RECEIVE NOTICE THAT THE PARTS ARE IN TO RESOLVE THE PROBLEM WHICH I FEEL IS VERY UNSAFE. I WAS NOT OFFERED A LOANER OR RENTAL TO DRIVE WHILE THAI IS IS RESOLVED WHICH ITO ME IS A SAFETY HAZARD BECAUSE NO ONE KNOWS WHEN AN ACCIDENT WILL OCCUR.

THIS IS A SAFETY ISSUE, AND A LOT OF US DRIVE WITH CHILDREN IN THE CAR. THE VEHICLE MANUFACTURER INSTALLED IT, AND SHOULD BE LIABLE TO REPAIR THE VEHICLE. THEN THEY CAN FIGHT TO BE REIMBURSED. THIS IS RIDICULOUS ALREADY!! THEY ARE PUTTING PEOPLE'S LIVES IN DANGER.

THE CONTACT WAS WAITING TO RECEIVE THE PART FOR MORE THAN TWO YEARS. THE CONTACT CALLED THE DEALER TO FOLLOW-UP AND WAS INFORMED THAT THERE WAS NO WAITING LIST FOR THE PART. A LOANER VEHICLE OPTION WAS NOT AVAILABLE DUE TO A LIMITED SUPPLY AND THE DEALER INDICATED THAT THE CONTACT WOULD NEED TO ALSO BE PLACED ON A WAITING LIST FOR A LOANER VEHICLE. THE CONTACT HAD NOT EXPERIENCED A FAILURE. VIN TOOL CONFIRMS PARTS NOT AVAILABLE.
TAKATA RECALL : I RECEIVED A NOTICE THAT MY CAR HAD A RECALL ON THE AIRBAG SYSTEM. I WENT TO GRAPEVINE FORD, SHOWED THEM THE RECALL AND THEY SAID I WOULD HAVE TO PAY TO HAVE THE AIRBAGS REPLACED.

AIR BAG LIGHT STAYS ON MOST OF THE TIME, WORRY THAT IT WILL DEPLOY ANYTIME. NOT IN INVOLVED IN ACCIDENT
"TAKATA RECALL" SND I WAS DRIVING VEHICLE WHEN TURN SIGNALS ON BOTH FRONT RIGHT AND LEFT SIDE STOPPED WORKING. RIGHT FRONT TURN SIGNAL JUST STAYED ON , SO I HAD TO DISCONNECT IT OTHERWISE IT WOULD HAVE DRAINED THE BATTERY. I REPLACED BOTH BULBS WITH NEW ONES, STILL DID NOT WORK. I GET A MESSAGE SAYING CHECK RIGHT FRONT AND LEFT FRONT TURN SIGNALS. I HAVE FOUND OUT THAT THIS HAS HAPPENED TO A LOT OF 2006 FORD FUSIONS, IT IS A SAFETY ISSUE WHEN CARS FRONT SIGNAL INDICATORS DONT WORK. I WAS TOLD THE SMART JUNCTION BOX NEEDS TO BE REPLACED. FORD HAS KNOWN ABOUT THIS PROBLEM,AND DONE NOTHING!

I RECENTLY MADE AN INQUIRY TO A FORD DEALER BECAUSE IT IS PAST THE TIME THAT A REPLACEMENT SUPPOSEDLY WAS TO BE AVAILABLE. THEY SAY THEY HAVE ORDERED THE PART. NO ONE AT THE REPAIR FACILITY OR AT THE FORD CUSTOMER SERVICE CENTER IS ABLE TO GIVE ME ANY ANSWERS AS TO WHEN THE PART WILL BE AVAILABLE. OF COURSE THEY HAVE NO USA BASED C/S. THE LAST LETTER I RECEIVED STATED THAT PARTS SHOULD BE AVAILABLE IN THE SECOND OR THIRD QUARTER OF 2018. IT IS NOW THE END OF THE FOURTH QUARTER AND I HAD HEARD NOTHING. THE REALITY IS THAT I WILL LIKELY NEVER GET A REPLACEMENT, AND I HAVE NO CHOICE BUT TO DEAL WITH A NEVER ENDING RUN-AROUND. I PAID CASH FOR MY CAR BEFORE I REALIZE THAT THE COMPANY HAD OVER 4 RECALLS ON THE CAR. 1ST RECALL I WAS IN A RENTAL FOR OVER A MONTH BECAUSE OF THE NAKATA AIRBAG IF DEPLOYED WOULD HAVE CAUSED HARM TO MY PASSENGER BY DEPLOYING GLASS-LIKE PARTICALS. AND NOW 2ND RECALL IS THE ANTI-LOCK BREAK WHICH CLAIMS IT CAN BE OPEN CAUSING YOU TO HAVE TO BREAKER SOONER POSSIBLE CAUSING A CRASH. I AM CURRENTLY NOT ABLE TO PURCHASE A NEW CAR AND WITH THE FORD SETTLEMENT HAVEN'T HEARD ABOUT THE SAFETY OF US DRIVING UNDER THESE CONDITIONS.
