"TAKATA RECALL" I RECEIVED AN OFFICIAL SAFETY RECALL FOR MY 2006 FORD FUSION IN JULY OF 2016. I HAVE CHECKED WITH MY DEALERSHIP AND WITH FORD MOTOR COMPANY CORPORATE OFFICES AND TO DATE, ALMOST 8 MONTHS LATER, NO ONE CAN TELL ME ANY ESTIMATE TIMELINE FOR THIS REPAIR. I FEEL 8 MONTHS IS TOTALLY UNREASONABLE. CAN ANYTHING BE DONE TO EXPEDITE THE REPAIR TO CORRECT THIS DEFECT?

I CONTACTED FIVE STAR FORD OF PLANO UPON RECEIPT OF THIS CORRESPONDENCE AND WAS ADVISED ANOTHER LETTER WILL BE SENT WHEN PARTS ARE AVAILABLE. NO 2ND FORD MOTOR COMPANY LETTER HAS BEEN RECEIVED. WHAT IS THE NEXT STEP? THE INITIAL LETTER IS ATTACHED.

ON YOUR VEHICLE, THE PASSENGER FRONTAL AIRBAG INFLATOR MAY RUPTURE IN THE EVENT OF A CRASH NECESSITATING AIRBAG DEPLOYMENT. A RUPTURED INFLATOR MAY RESULT IN METAL FRAGMENTS STRIKING VEHICLE OCCUPANTS CAUSING SERIOUS INJURY OR DEATH.

I NEVER HEARD FROM ANYONE, SO I STARTED CALLING JULY 2017 AND HAVE CALLED 2 OTHER TIMES. THEY TELL ME THAT WE WILL GET AN EMAIL FROM FORD TO SCHEDULE A SERVICE APPOINTMENT TO HAVE THE AIRBAG REPLACED WHEN THE PARTS BECOME AVAILABLE. WE HAVE NOT RECEIVED ANY SUCH NOTICE AS OF THIS DATE.
TAKATA RECALL- RECEIVED NOTICE FROM THE LINCOLN MOTOR COMPANY OF TAKATA AIR BAG RECALL FOR MY 2009 LINCOLN MKZ AND HAVE CALLED THREE FORD/LINCOLN DEALERSHIPS IN MY AREA AND THEY STATED DUE TO LAW SUIT THEY HAVE NOT RECEIVED THE REPLACEMENT AIRBAG PART.

NO INCIC=DENTS HAVE OCCURED WITH THE EXITING AIRBAGS, BUT SINCE ANOTHER VEHICLE I OWNED (DODGE CARAVAN, 1994 MODEL,) DID HAVE AN AIRBAG ISSUE WHICH MAY HAVE CAUSED AN ACCIDENT, I AM ANXIOUS TO HAVE THIS PROBLEM CORRECTED.

TAKATA RECALL-RECEIVED A RECALL NOTICE SINCE JUNE 2016. HAVE CONTACTED JIM CLICK FORD, TUCSON AZ WHERE I BOUGHT CAR BUT HAVE YET TO RECEIVE A CALL BACK FROM DEALERSHIP. AIRBAG LIGHT HAS BEEN IN FOR OVER A YEAR AND I AM VERY WORRIED ABOUT ANY ACCIDENT OR CONSECUENCES BECAUSE THIS HAS NOT BEEN TAKEN CARE OF EVEN THOUGH I RECEIVED THE RECALL NOTICE. "TAKATA RECALL" I RECEIVED MY RECALL NOTICE IN JULY 2016 AND STILL FORD MOTOR COMPANY HAS NO PARTS TO FIX IT. IF EVERYONE IS SO CONCERNED ABOUT SAFETY I THINK OVER 2 YEARS IS WAY OVER THE LIMIT TO FIX THE PROBLEM THAT COULD CAUSE DEATH. BY THE TIME FORD DOES SOMETHING MY CAR WILL NO LONGER BE AROUND AND MY FAMILY IN THE MEANTIME IS AT RISK. I ALSO THINK THIS IS FORDS INTENTION THAT IF THEY WAIT LONG ENOUGH A LARGE PORTION OF THE CARS THAT HAVE TO FIX WILL NO LONGER BE AROUND AND THEY WILL SAVE THEMSELF A LOT OF MONEY BY NOT HAVING TO FIX THOSE CARS. TAKATA RECALL - I HAVE RECEIVED SEVERAL LETTERS FROM FORD OVER THE YEARS IN REGARDS TO THIS TAKATA RECALL INVOLVING THE PASSENGER SIDE AIRBAG INFLATOR. HOWEVER THEIR LETTERS ALWAYS END WITH A STATEMENT ABOUT HOW THE PARTS ARE NOT AVAILABLE AND WHEN THEY BECOME AVAILABLE THEY WILL CONTACT ME. I TOOK THE CAR TO A NEARBY DEALER AND THEY TOLD ME THE SAME THING, THAT PARTS ARE NOT AVAILABLE AND THEY WILL CONTACT ME WHEN THEY ARE. SO REALLY, I HAVE BEEN WAITING FOR PARTS FOR SEVERAL YEARS. A LETTER I RECEIVED FROM FORD IN DECEMBER 2017 SUGGESTED THAT I NOT ALLOW ANYONE TO RIDE IN THE FRONT PASSENGER SEAT UNTIL THE REPAIR WAS MADE! SO I FEEL LIKE I AM RIDING AROUND IN A TIMEBOMB. I HAD ALSO RECEIVED A LETTER FROM TAKATA THEMSELVES SEVERAL YEARS AGO, STATING THAT MY CAR WAS ALSO UNDER A RECALL FOR THE DRIVER SIDE AIRBAG INFLATOR AS WELL. HOWEVER I DO NOT HAVE THAT LETTER ANY LONGER - I THINK IT WAS LEFT AT A DEALER WHEN I ATTEMPTED AGAIN TO GET THE REPAIRS MADE. I AM SERIOUSLY CONSIDERING TRYING TO GET A NEW CAR, BUT THAT WILL BE DIFFICULT FOR ME SINCE I AM ON DISABILITY WITH LIMITED INCOME. I WAS GIVEN A NUMBER IN ACCORDANCE WITH THIS RECALL: SAFETY NOTICE 16S26 / NHTSA RECALL 16V-384. PASSENGER FRONTAL AIRBAG INFLATOR MAY RESULTIN METAL FRAGMENTS STRIKING VEHICLE OCCUPANTS CAUSING SERIAL INJURY OR DEATH. I'M NERVOUS TO DRIVE THIS CAR. I GOT THE NOTIFICATION SINCE 2016, I HAVE CALL SEVERAL TIMES ASKING FOR THE REPLASMENT FOR THE AIRBAG. AND STILL WAITING FOR THE PART PER THE CUSTOMER SERVICE FROM FORD.
WHILE ON MY WAY TO WINSTON SALEM NC I WAS DRIVING MY 2006 FORD FUSION. THEN I FELT THE CAR GOING TOWARDS THE RIGHT. I TRIED TO STRAIGHTEN UP THE CAR BUT THE STEERING WHEEL WAS STUCK. WITH THE STEERING WHEEL STUCK AND MY CAR STILL GOING TOWARDS THE RIGHT I STRUCK A PARKED CAR ON THE SHOULDER OF US 52 AT ABOUT 60 MPH. MY VEHICLE CAME TO A STOP BUT THE VEHICLE THAT I STRUCK WENT ACROSS TWO LANES OF TRAFFIC AND DOWN AN EMBANKMENT. MY WIFE, DAUGHTER AND MYSELF WERE RUSHED TO THE HOSPITAL ALONG WITH THE DRIVER OF THE OTHER VEHICLE. AT THE HOSPITAL I WAS ISSUED A CITATION FOR FAILURE TO MAINTAIN LANE. I PLAN ON GOING TO COURT IN AUGUST TO FIGHT THE TICKET BECAUSE I HAVE READ SEVERAL ARTICLES VIA THE INTERNET AND NOTICED THAT THE SAME THING HAS HAPPENED TO OTHER DRIVERS OF THE FORD FUSION. ALSO MY WIFE ALSO TOLD ME THAT SHE FELT THE CAR PULLING TO THE RIGHT ON ANOTHER OCCASION BUT SHE FELT SOMETHING POP AND SHE WAS ABLE TO STEER THE CAR WITH NO FURTHER ISSUES.

DRIVING BOTH HIGHWAY AND CITY STREETS. WHILE DRIVING TO WORK MY TURN LEFT SIGNAL BEGAN TO FLASH FASTER INDICATING A BURNED OUT BULB WHEN THE RIGHT TURN SIGNAL STARTED FLASHING FASTER. AFTER WORK I COULD NOT UNLOCK MY CAR AND HAD TO HAVE SECURITY UNLOCK MY CAR ONLY TO FIND MY BATTERY WAS DEAD. SECURITY THEN JUMPED STARTED THE CAR, I DROVE OFF TO BATTLE MY THRU RUSH HOUR WITH OUT TURN SIGNALS. THE NEXT MORNING THE CAR BATTERY WAS DEAD AGAIN, AFTER GETTING IT STARTED I NOTICED THE RIGHT FRONT TURN SIGNAL BULB STAYED ON EVEN WHEN THE CAR WAS TURNED OFF,UNTIL BATTERY WAS DRAINED. I TOOK IT TO MY MECHANIC HE SAID THE SMART BOX WOULD NEED TO BE REPLACED AND PROGRAMED, AND COST ABOUT $850! I WENT TO PICKUP THE VEHICLE HAD TROUBLE UNLOCKING THE DOOR AGAIN THIS TIME THE BATTERY WAS DEAD AGAIN AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED.

TAKATA RECALL. I NOTICED ABOUT A MONTH AGO WHERE MY PASSENGER AIRBAG IS LOCATED THEDASH IS SLOWLY COMING UP. LIKE THE AIRBAG IS SLOWLY INFLATING INSIDE AND PUSHING THE COVER UP. IS IT SAFE TO KEEP DRIVING THE VEHICLE OR WILL IT ONE DAY SOON EXPLODE AND CAUSE INJURY TO ME OR MY FAMILY. I NOTICED THIS AS MY CAR WAS PARKED.
TAKATA RECALL IT HAS BEEN A YEAR AND 4 MONTHS SINCE I GOT THE RECALL NOTICE. WHY HAVEN'T THEY GOT A FIX YET. I'M WORRIED EVERY TIME I GO OUT IN TRAFFIC.
The headlights are so foggy that night driving is dangerous. I applied a liquid to the exterior of both lights and that improved visibility for about a year. I believe this is caused by a reaction to the plastic used on the lenses. The vehicle is available for inspection however I have not taken it to a dealership for this problem. I have noticed this headlight problem on other vehicles.
