I WAS PARKING IN A BETTENDORT, IOWA RESTAURANT PARKING LOT WHEN MY CAR SURGED FORWARD. I APPLIED THE BRAKES, BUT CAR WOULD NOT STOP. IT LEFT THE PARKING LOT, CROSSED A SIDEWALK AND WENT ONTO A STREET NEAR AN INTERSECTION. I KEPT APPLYING THE BRAKES, BUT CAR STILL WOULDN'T STOP. IT COLLIDED WITH AN ONCOMING CAR, CROSSED OVER A MEDIAN AND FINALLY STOPPED ON ANOTHER STREET ACROSS FROM THE INTERSECTION.
TAKATA RECALL. I HAVE TO DRIVE FOUR KIDS EVERY DAY FOR MY JOB. IT'S A HUGE LIABILITY AND I CANNOT WORK WITH MY CAR IN THE CONDITION IT IS IN RIGHT NOW. LEXUS DEALERSHIPS HAVE THE SAME PROBLEM AS MINE AND ARE GIVING FREE RENTALS UNTIL THE PROBLEM IS FIXED. I AM HOPING TO SEE IF I AM ABLE TO QUALIFY FOR A FREE RENTAL SO I CAN CONTINUE TO WORK UNTIL PARTS BECOME AVAILABLE FOR MY CAR.

TAKATA RECALL -- THERE CONTINUES TO BE NO REMEDY TO REPLACE THE DANGEROUS PASSENGER AIRBAG IN THIS VEHICLE
TAKATA RECALL I RECEIVED A LETTER FROM THE FORD MOTOR COMPANY ON JULY 2016 STATING THAT THE PASSENGER FRONTAL AIRBAG INFLATOR MAY RUPTURE IN THE EVENT OF A CRASH NECESSITATING AIRBAG DEPLOYMENT. A RUPTURED INFLATOR MAY RESULT IN METAL FRAGMENTS STRIKING VEHICLE OCCUPANTS CAUSING SERIOUS INJURY OR DEATH. SINCE THIS IS ALARMING INFORMATION I HAVE CALLED THE KEN GRODY DEALER IN BUENA PARK, CA ON 7-30-16, 12-8-16 AND 9-6-17 INQUIRING IF THE PARTS ARE AVAILABLE YET TO FIX MY 2006 FORD FUSION. I WAS INFORMED THAT THE PARTS ARE NOT AVAILABLE YET. SO MY QUESTION IS WHEN WILL THESE PARTS BE AVAILABLE FROM FORD SO THE RECALL CAN BE FULFILLED? INJURY OR DEATH IS NOT ACCEPTABLE FOR A SLOW MOVING FORD CO. TO RESPOND TO PEOPLE THAT BOUGHT THIS CAR.

"TAKATA RECALL". IT'S BEEN 2 YEARS SINCE BEING NOTIFIED ABOUT THE RECALL OF DEFECTIVE AIRBAGS BY FORD MOTOR CO., AND NO WORD ON HOW SOON THE AIRBAG WILL BE FIXED. THE LOCAL DEALERSHIP HAS NO ANSWERS AND I CANNOT GET THROUGH TO FORD'S MAIN OFFICE. THIS IS FAR TOO LONG FOR A PROBLEM TO GO ON WITH BEING RESOLVED. WE ARE NOT ALLOWED TO SIT IN THE PASSENGER FROM SEAT BECAUSE OF THIS SITUATION AND THIS CAUSES STRESS FOR THE FAMILY. PLEASE HELP GET THIS SITUATION RESOLVED. THANK YOU.

EACH TIME I CHECKED THE WEBSITE OR CALLED I WAS TOLD "RECALL INCOMPLETE: REMEDY NOT YET AVAILABLE". WHEN I CALLED, I WAS TOLD THAT SOMEONE WOULD CONTACT ME WHEN THE PART WAS AVAILABLE VIA MAIL. THE STATUS HAS BEEN "NUMBER OF OPEN RECALLS:1" FOR MANY MONTHS, BUT WHEN I CHECKED TODAY, IT SAID "0". MY COMPLAINT IS OVERALL POOR COMMUNICATION BY FORD DURING THIS RECALL, MY CONCERN IS THAT I NOW HAVE NO RECOURSE TO GET THE AIR BAG REPLACED AND MY FAMILY HAS TO DRIVE AROUND IN A TICKING TIME BOMB.
