THE AIR BAGS DEPLOYED. A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED. THE CONTACT STATED THAT HER LEFT ARM WAS BROKEN AND WAS TRANSPORTED TO THE EMERGENCY ROOM BY AMBULANCE. THE VEHICLE WAS DESTROYED AND TOWED. THERE WERE NO RECALLS FOR THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 130,000.

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER, BUT NO RECALLS WERE FOUND PERTAINING TO THE VIN. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. TAKATA RECALL A COUPLE YEARS AGO, WE BEGAN NOTICING THE PASSENGER DASH BEGINNING TO BULGE AND SEPARATE. WHEN WE RECEIVED THE NOTICE ABOUT THE RECALL ON THE AIRBAGS IN CERTAIN FORD VEHICLES WE CONNECTED THE DOTS. OVER TIME AND WITH HEAT THE BULGE BECAME BIGGER AND PARTS BEGAN TO SEPARATE. WHEN WE WERE INFORMED THAT A PASSENGER SHOULD NO LONGER BE ALLOWED TO SIT IN THE SEAT WHILE DRIVING, IT PUT US IN A VERY LARGE PREDICAMENT FOR OUR FAMILY TO USE OUR ONLY VEHICLE. WE MADE DO HOPING THAT THE PARTS WOULD COME IN THIS SPRING LIKE WE WERE TOLD THROUGH THE MAIL. WE CONTINUED TO CALL OUR FORD DEALERSHIP AND AFTER FIVE ATTEMPTS AND ONLY GETTING VOICEMAILS, WE LEFT MESSAGES EACH TIME WITH OUR NAME, QUESTION, AND PHONE NUMBER. WE HAVE YET TO HAVE A RETURN PHONE CALL FROM THEM AND IT HAS BEEN MONTHS. WE JUST WANT OUR VEHICLE SAFE TO DRIVE IN SO WE CAN EFFICIENTLY USE IT AS A FAMILY AND AS OUR ONLY MEANS OF TRANSPORTATION.
VEHICLE AFTER WARMING UP AND PUT IN GEAR WILL ONLY MOVE FORWARD VERY SLOWLY TAKES SEVERAL MINUTES BEFORE I CAN GET A ACCEPTABLE FORWARD MOTION. CAN NOT GO IN TRAFFIC AS CAR ONLY MOVES AT A VERY SMALL RATE OF SPEED. EVENTUALLY IT WILL GO INTO THE NORMAL MODE FOR DRIVING CAR FORWARD..

THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 121,759.
OUR FORD FUSION ENGINE SUDDENLY STARTED DYING IN TRAFFIC. WHEN STOPPING AT A LIGHT OR STOP SIGN IN TRAFFIC, THE IDLE WOULD DROP BELOW 5000 RPMS, THEN SUDDENLY THE ENGINE WOULD DIE. AFTER PLACING THE VEHICLE IN PARK, WE WOULD HAVE TO RESTART THE ENGINE. USUALLY WOULD DIE AFTER SITTING STILL AFTER ABOUT 10 SECONDS. SOMETIMES THE VEHICLE WOULDN'T START BACKUP RIGHT AWAY, SO WE WERE STUCK ON THE ROAD UNTIL IT FINALLY DECIDED TO START. NO CHECK ENGINE LIGHT OR WRENCH WOULD DISPLAY. WE TOOK IT IN TO FORD DEALER AND THEY DETERMINED THE THROTTLE BODY WAS DEFECTIVE. APPARENTLY THIS IS AN ISSUE WITH MOST FORD FUSIONS, AS WELL AS OTHER MODELS THAT USE THE SAME THROTTLE BODY. THE VEHICLE HAS 80,000 MILES ON IT. REPAIR COSTS WERE OVER $1000. WHEN IS FORD GOING TO ADDRESS THIS ISSUE FOR THE FUSIONS THAT WERE MADE BEFORE 2009? WHILE REVERSING OUT OF MY PARKING SPOT AT WORK THE OTHER DAY, THE CAR COMPLETELY STALLED WHILE MY FOOT WAS ON THE GAS PEDAL. I WAS THANKFUL THAT NO ONE WAS BEHIND ME BECAUSE THE CAR COMPLETELY SHUT DOWN. I PUT IT IN PARK AND RESTARTED IT EASILY, BUT I WAS TOO NERVOUS TO DRIVE ON A HIGHWAY AFTER THE INCIDENT, AS THERE WAS NO INDICATION THE FIRST TIME THAT THE CAR WAS GOING TO SHUT DOWN. I DROVE DOWN A COUNTRY ROAD WITH MY FLASHERS ON UNTIL I GOT TO A SAFE PLACE WHERE I COULD CALL MY HUSBAND. WHILE I WAITED FOR HIM TO COME GET ME, I KEPT THE CAR IN IDLE AND RAN THE HEATER. THE CAR SHUT DOWN AGAIN, AND THIS TIME I WAS ABLE TO TAKE A PICTURE OF THE WARNING LIGHTS THAT ACCOMPANIED THE FAILURE. (SEE ATTACHED.) THE DASH SAID "CHECK CHARGING SYSTEM" AND THE OIL, EMISSIONS, AND BATTERY LIGHTS CAME ON. WE CALLED AND HAD IT TOWED TO A LOCAL SHOP BUT MAN THERE HAS NO IDEA WHAT THE PROBLEM IS AND TOLD US TO TOW IT TO THE DEALERSHIP. MY CAR HAS OVER 100,000 MILES, BUT I HAVE HAD TROUBLE WITH IT SINCE I BOUGHT IT. I HAVE HAD MECHANICS TELL ME THAT THE ELECTRICAL SYSTEM DOES NOT WORK WELL. I HAVE ALSO HAD THEM TELL ME THAT IT IS NORMAL FOR THE AIR-CONDITIONER IN THESE CARS TO JUST TURN ON RANDOMLY TO COOL THE ENGINE, WHICH MINE DOES FREQUENTLY. MOREOVER, THE BATTERY IN THE CAR NOW IS THE THIRD ONE I'VE HAD. BRAKE LIGHTS BURN OUT CONSTANTLY, AND THE TRANSMISSION MAKES TERRIBLE NOISES WHEN I START THE CAR AND PARTICULARLY WHEN I REVERSE. THIS NEW PROBLEM OF STOPPING UNEXPECTEDLY IS SIMPLY UNACCEPTABLE. I HATE TO GIVE UP MY FUSION BECAUSE WHEN IT'S RUNNING CORRECTLY, IT'S A GREAT CAR; HOWEVER, THIS LAST INSTANCE IS JUST TOO DANGEROUS. IF I WERE ON THE HIGHWAY, I COULD HAVE BEEN KILLED. THIS SAME THING HAS HAPPENED TO FRIENDS OF MINE WHO OWNED FORDS. I WILL BE CALLING FORD AND ASKING THEM ABOUT THROTTLE BODY AND PCM PROBLEMS THAT OTHERS HAVE NOTED IN THEIR COMPLAINTS.
FORD STILL DOES NOT HAVE A SOLUTION TO MY AIRBAG RECALL AND IT HAS BEEN A YEAR FROM BEING NOTIFIED.

TAKATA RECALL I RECEIVED A NOTICE TO HAVE MY AIR BAGS REPLACED AND I HAVE GOTTEN IN TOUCH WITH THE PEOPLE WHO WAS SUPPOSE TO REPLACE THEM AND WAS TOLD I HAVE TO FILE A COMPLAINT WITH YOU TO GET ANYTHING DONE ABOUT IT.
WHILE DRIVING MY FUSION ON 11/1/15, BOTH FRONT TURN SIGNALS STOPPED WORKING WHEN ATTEMPTING TO MAKE A TURN ONTO AN INTERSTATE. THE DASH INDICATED A WARNING THAT THE LEFT AND RIGHT FRONT TURN SIGNAL LAMP WAS NOT WORKING WHEN THE SIGNAL WAS ACTIVATED BY THE SWITCH. I ASSUMED A BULB HAD BURNT OUT. HOWEVER, ONCE MY CAR WAS TURNED COMPLETELY OFF, THE LEFT FRONT BULB REMAINED ON, DESPITE NO ONE BEING IN THE CAR. THE LIGHT REMAINED ON FOR MULTIPLE HOURS BEFORE I BECAME AWARE OF IT ONCE I RETURNED TO MY VEHICLE. DURING THIS TIME, IT WAS DRAINING THE BATTERY. I THE. HAD TO DRIVE MY CAR ON CITY STREETS AND THE INTERSTATE TO GET HOME. I TRIED PURCHASING NEW BULBS, BUT FOUND THAT BOTH BULBS CURRENTLY IN THE CAR WORKED FINE. NO WIRING WAS LOOSE OR FRAYED. LATER THAT WEEK, I BROUGHT IT TO A MECHANIC WHO DIAGNOSED IT AS A FAILED SMART JUNCTION BOX THAT HAS LED TO THE TURN SIGNAL NOT WORKING. I CONTACTED MY LOCAL DEALERSHIP IN ACCORDANCE WITH MY MECHANIC'S SUGGESTION. I WAS INFORMED THERE IS NO RECALL ON THIS PART. HOW IS THERE NO RECALL WHEN THIS IS CLEARLY A SAFETY ISSUE? MALFUNCTIONING TURN SIGNALS WHILE DRIVING WITH NO DIRECT CAUSE IS A PROBLEM. ESPECIALLY WHEN IT LEADS TO A LIGHT REMAINING ON LEADING TO KILLING THE CAR BATTERY. ACCORDING TO THE DEALERSHIP, THE ONLY SOLUTION IS PURCHASING A NEW JUNCTION BOX FROM THEM (NO LOCAL PARTS STORES CAN EVEN FIND ONE IN THEIR INVENTORY) AND HAVE IT INSTALLED AND PROGRAMMED BY THEM.
WHEN PRESSING THE GAS PEDAL TO ACCELERATE TO MERGE ON TO THE HIGHWAY THE CAR JERKED AND THEN WILL NOT GO ANYWHERE THE MOTOR JUST REAVES UP. UNTIL YOU PULL OVER AND TURN IT OFF AND RESTART IT IS THE ONLY WAY TO GET IT TO MOVE AGAIN.

THE DEALER STATED A REMOTE STARTER THAT WAS PREVIOUSLY INSTALLED BURNED A FUSE. THE FUSE WAS REPLACED, BUT THE TURN SIGNALS FAILED. THE DEALER STATED THAT THE SMART BOX NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 101,000. THE VIN WAS NOT AVAILABLE.
INTERIOR FRONT DOOR LATCHES BROKE AROUND THE 100,000 MILEAGE. ALL FOUR ELECTRIC WINDOW REGULATORS/MOTOR HAVE FAILED FROM THE 80,000-110,000 MILEAGE PERIOD. EACH OF THE REGULATORS PLASTIC ROLLERS WHERE THE CABLE GOES AROUND WERE BROKEN. TWO OF THE AUTOMATIC DOOR LOCKS QUIT WORKING AS WELL. ALL MOTOR MOUNTS HAVE BEEN REPLACED AT LEAST ONCE AND 2 HAVE BEEN REPLACED TWICE EACH. 4-CYLINDER. I HAVE SEEN 100'S OF COMPLAINTS ONLINE ABOUT THE MOTOR MOUNTS AND MANY FOR THE INTERIOR LATCHES AND WINDOW REGULATORS. I HAVE SPENT OVER A THOUSAND DOLLARS ON THE MOTOR MOUNT ISSUES.
AFTER SLOWING DOWN JUST BEFORE THE STOP SIGN, MY CAR STARTED TO SPUTTER AND WHEN I TRIES TO ACCELERATE AFTER THE INTERSECTION IT STOPS ACCELERATING. I HAD TO LIMP ALONG TO GET HOME. LUCKILY, I WAS JUST ABOUT 1.5 MILES FROM HOME. I HAVE DONE FOR THIS CAR ALL SCHEDULED MAINTENANCE AND NEVER MISSED THE RECOMMENDED PERIODICAL OIL CHANGES. I DRIVE LESS THAN 5000 MILES A YEAR WITH THIS CAR AN IT HAS LESS 59,000 MILES ON IT. THIS MUST BE DUE TO A DEFECTIVE PART FROM THE FACTORY AND I SHOULD NOT PAY FOR IT. THE INTERIOR DOOR HANDLE BREAKS, INCASE OF CRASH OR FIRE YOU CANNOT EXIT. I WAS TOLD BY THE DEALER OTHER CARS WITH THE SAME DOOR HANDLE, HAS THEM RECALLED FOR THE SAME REASON.

WAS ON THE FREEWAY IN TRAFFIC. CAR STARTING SURGING AND WAS HARD TO KEEP IT IN A STOPPED POSITION. ONCE TRAFFIC STARTED FLOWING, I STEPPED ON GAS AND WOULD HAD NO POWER COULD NOT ACCELERATE PAST 20 MILES AN HOUR. CAR WAS TOWED TO SHOP. DEALER SAID IT WAS THE THROTTLE BODY. I RESEARCHED AND FORD HAS HAD THIS PROBLEM ON THEIR CARS, BUT SAID MINE IS NOT INCLUDED EVEN THOUGH I FELL INTO THE 10 YEAR UNDER 150,000 MILES. THEY SAID MY VIN IS NOT COVERED.
MY 06 FUSION HAS BEEN SHIFTING FUNNY, BUT I DIDN'T KNOW WHAT IT WAS. WHILE HAVING MY OIL CHANGED, I HAD A 6 POINT INSPECTION DONE, AND NOTHING CAME BACK EXCEPT MY TIE-RODS NEEDING REPLACED. ONE NIGHT, WHILE DRIVING HOME, SUDDENLY MY CAR HAD A HESITATION WHEN SHIFTING INTO SECOND GEAR. IT WOULD REV UP TO 3 RPM, THEN SHIFT HARD INTO 2ND GEAR AND RUN FINE. TWO STOP LIGHTS LATER, THE SHIFT BEGAN TO GET HARDER. I FINALLY MADE IT HOME, BUT LATER HAD TO RUN AN ERRAND. THE SHIFTING GOT WORSE. NOW, IT WAS AS IF I WAS ABOUT TO GET A NECK INJURY FROM THE SHIFTING FROM 1ST TO 2ND GEAR. I REALIZED THAT I NEEDED TO GET HOME, BECAUSE IT WAS TOO LATE TO GO TO THE DEALERSHIP. WHEN HEADING TO WORK THE NEXT MORNING, THE WRENCH LIGHT POPPED UP ON THE DASHBOARD. LIVING ONLY 7 MINUTES FROM WORK, I THOUGHT I WAS FINE. BUT NOW, I NO LONGER MADE IT TO 2ND GEAR. IT STAYED ON FIRST, AND REMAINED REVVED UP TO THE POINT IT WAS LOSING POWER. I WAS SCARED THAT I WAS GOING TO GET STUCK IN THE MIDDLE OF THE ROAD. NOW, WITH MY VEHICLE IN THE SHOP, I'M BEING TOLD THAT THE TRANSMISSION NEEDS AN OVERHAUL. THE COST IS $2800. WHEN IS THE RECALL GOING TO COME INTO PLAY?
TAKATA RECALL I HAVE BEEN WAITING FOR 3 YEARS TO GET THIS REPLACED.
WHEN DRIVING THE WRENCH LIGHT COMES ON AND THE CAR LOOSES POWER. I CAN'T ACCELERATE. IF I PULL OFF THE ROAD AND TURN OFF THE CAR AND TURN IT BACK ON IT FIXES IT. SOMETIMES THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT COMES ON AFTER THAT.
MY WIFE WENT TO EXIT THE VEHICLE AND THE INTERIOR HANDLE GAVE WAY. THE HANDLE STILL OPERATES, BUT YOU MUST NOW MANUALLY LOCK THE DOOR. A FEW WEEKS LATER I WENT TO EXIT THE VEHICLE FROM THE DRIVERS SEAT AND THAT DOOR HANDLE BROKE COMPLETELY. NOW I HAVE TO LOWER MY WINDOW AND USE THE OUTSIDE HANDLE TO OPEN THE DRIVERS DOOR. LAST MONTH THE REAR DOOR ON THE PASSENGER SIDE STOPPED LOCKING AUTOMATICALLY AND ELECTRONICALLY. YOU MUST MANUALLY LOCK THAT DOOR AS WELL.

MY BACK DOOR LOCK ON MY DRIVER SIDE STOPPED AUTOMATICALLY LOCKING AND UNLOCKING UNLESS I DO IT MANUALLY. IT WASN'T A HUGE ISSUE SINCE I DON'T HAVE A LOT OF PEOPLE IN MY BACKSEAT. LAST NIGHT, WHEN I GOT HOME FROM WORK, I REACHED TO OPEN MY DOOR AND NOTHING HAPPENED. I THOUGHT I WAS TIRED ENOUGH TO BE MISTAKEN, BUT IT HAPPENED. MY DOOR WILL NOW ONLY OPEN FROM THE OUTSIDE. THE LOCK STILL LOCKS AND UNLOCKS AUTOMATICALLY WHEN I USE THE BUTTON, BUT I HAVE TO ROLL DOWN MY WINDOW TO GET OUT. I STARTED HAVING ISSUES WITH MY CAR IN 2008. MY CAR THEN WOULD NOT GO ANY FASTER THAN 50 MPH WOULD NOT ACCELERATE ON THE FREEWAY ON RAMP , AND COULD NOT GO UP HILLS. SO I REPAIRED IT OR SO I THOUGH. MY DAUGHTER NOTICED BOTH FRONT TURN SIGNALS WERE NOT FLASHING WHILE BOTH REAR ONES WORKED FINE. ALL INDICATORS FROM INSIDE THE CAR SHOWED FRONT TURN SIGNALS WORKING WHEN THEY WERE NOT. I REPLACED BULBS TO NO AVAIL. I WENT ON INTERNET AND DISCOVERED OTHER OWNERS WHO HAD THE SAME OR SIMILAR PROBLEM WITH TURN SIGNALS. PEOPLE ON THE INTERNET RECOMMENDED REPLACEMENT OF THE SMART JUNCTION BOX AT THE DEALER FOR APPROXIMATELY $600. I TOOK CAR TO LOCAL DEALER FOR REPLACEMENT OF SMART JUNCTION BOX. TURN SIGNALS BEGAN TO WORK FINE. WHAT I AM CONCERNED ABOUT, IS THAT THIS SAME SMART JUNCTION BOX CONTROLS SEVERAL OTHER FUNCTIONS OF THE CAR. SEVERAL COMMENTS FOUND ON THE INTERNET SAID THAT FORD FUSIONS HAD ACTUALLY LOST POWER ON THE HIGHWAY WHEN BEING DRIVEN AT NORMAL SPEEDS. THE ENTIRE CAR WENT DEAD IN HIGHWAY TRAFFIC. WITHOUT POWER STEERING, THEY COULD HARDLY GET CAR OUT OF THE HIGHWAY. THIS WAS REPORTED SEVERAL TIMES. AGAIN, THE REASON FOR THE LOSS OF POWER WAS THE FAILURE OF THE SMART JUNCTION BOX. TRANSMISSION STARTED SLIPPING AND THEN FAILED COMPLETELY.HAD TO HAVE CAR TOWED TO DEALER.THEY SAY IT NEEDS TRANSMISSION REPLACED.THEY SAY RUST CAUSED A HOLE IN TUBING AND FLUID RAN OUT.CAR HAS JUST MORE THAN 73,000 MILES ON IT.CAR SERVICED ROUTINELY,NOT DRIVEN IN BAD WEATHER MUCH.

THE POWER STEERING ON MY CAR FAILED TODAY. ON MY WAY TO WORK THE STEERING BECAME DIFFICULT. AT LUNCH, THE STEERING STARTED TO REALLY BE DIFFICULT AND LOCKED UP AS I PULLED INTO THE LOT. WE CHECKED THE POWER STEERING FLUID AND IT WAS FULL. AFTER WORK, I HEADED HOME. THE CAR WAS OKAY TO BEGIN WITH BUT THE LONGER I DROVE THE HARDER THE STEERING BECAME- IT BECAME INCREASINGLY HARD TO TURN CORNERS. I STARTED HAVING TO USE TWO HANDS TO TURN THE WHEEL. FINALLY, WHILE TURNING RIGHT, THE POWER STEERING FAILED.THE STEERING WHEEL LOCKED UP WOULDN'T TURN THE WHEELS AT ALL. I GOT VERY LUCKY AND HAPPENED TO BE TURNING INTO MY DRIVEWAY WHEN THE STEERING LOCKED FOR GOOD. ONCE THE CAR COOLED, WE WERE ABLE TO MOVE MY CAR COMPLETELY INTO THE DRIVEWAY AND PARK. HAD I BEEN ON A STREET OR THE HIGHWAY WHEN MAKING THAT TURN, THERE WOULD HAVE BEEN NO WAY FOR ME TO COMPLETE THE TURN AND A CRASH OR ACCIDENT WOULD HAVE BEEN A VERY VERY GOOD POSSIBILITY. *TR
