I HAVE BEEN ATTEMPTING SINCE 07/26/2016 TO HAVE MY AIRBAGS REPLACED BASED ON RECALL NOTICE. I HAVE REMAINED IN CONTACT WITH MY LOCAL FORD DEALERSHIP. I HAVE ALSO SPOKEN WITH FORD ON 01/03/2017. I HAVE BEEN TOLD MULTIPLE TIMES THERE IS NO PARTS AVAILABLE. THE ONLY RECOURSE I HAVE BEEN GIVEN IS 'YOU NEED TO SUE FORD'.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 FORD FUSION. WHILE DRIVING 35 MPH, THE CONTACT WAS INVOLVED IN A CRASH. THE AIR BAGS DEPLOYED. THE CONTACT SUSTAINED A SHOULDER INJURY AND CHEST PAINS, WHICH REQUIRED MEDICAL ATTENTION. A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO A LOCAL DEALER, BUT WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE VIN WAS INCLUDED IN NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 16V384000 (AIR BAGS). THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS UNKNOWN.

TAKATA RECALL , FORD RECALL 16S26. I RECEIVED A LETTER FROM THE FORD MOTOR COMPANY ON SATURDAY, 07-23-2016 ABOUT SAFETY RECALL NOTICE 16S26 . THIS NOTICE IDENTIFIED THAT THE FRONTAL AIRBAG INFLATOR MAY RUPTURE IN THE EVENT OF A CRASH NECESSITATING AIRBAG DEPLOYMENT. A "RUPTURED INFLATOR MAY RESULT IN METAL FRAGMENTS STRICKING VEHICLE OCCUPANTS CAUSING SERIOUS INJURY OR DEATH". I HAVE CALLED SAN TAN FORD, GILBERT, AZ 85295 (CUSTOMER SERVICE/[XXX], SERVICE MGR. [XXX]) AND BASICALLY WAS TOLD THAT THEY DO NOT HAVE THE NEW PASSENGER FRONTAL AIRBAG INFLATOR REPLACEMENT AND DO NOT KNOW WHEN THEY WILL RECEIVE THIS REPLACEMENT ASSEMBLY/PART. NO ANSWERS ON A FORD RECALL THAT COULD RESULT IN SERIOUS INJURY OR DEATH. I CALLED FORD AT 1-866-436-7332 AND WAS CONNECTED WITH A FORD REP. IN THE PHILIPPINES WHO GAVE ME THE SAME RIDICULOUS ANSWER AS WAS PROVIDED BY SAN TAN FORD. NOBODY SEEMS TO GET THE BASIC IDEA THAT I AM DRIVING A LOW MILEAGE 2007 FUSION (THAT I BOUGHT NEW FROM SAN TAN FORD) THAT IS A "IMMINENT DEATH TRAP" AND WON'T AND/OR CAN'T DO ANYTHING ABOUT THE RECALL. TAKATA RECALL - RCVD RECALL JULY 2016 AND STILL HAVEN'T HAD CAR REPAIRED. DUE TO PASSENGER "AIR BAG" LIGHT ON AND "PARTS NOT AVAILABLE" (ACCORDING TO FORD MOTOR CO. & FORD DEALERS), UNABLE TO FIX SO DMV WON'T ALLOW MY TEENS TO TAKE DRIVER'S TEST NOR CAN CAR HAVE FUTURE SMOG TESTS FOR VEHICLE REGISTRATION.
TAKATA RECALL - I HAVE BEEN WAITING SINCE JULY 2016 TO HAVE THE AIRBAG REPAIRED AND/OR REPLACED AND IT IS NOW NOVEMBER 2018! THE FORD DEALERSHIPS SAY "WE DON'T HAVE THE PARTS". I HAVE TWO TEEN AGE SONS DRIVING THIS CAR OUT OF NECESSITY TO SCHOOL AND WORK.
TAKATA RECALL. WE RECEIVED FORD TAKATA SAFETY RECALL NOTICE ON JULY 21, 2016, WHICH EXPLAINED WHY OUR PASSENGER DASH WAS CRACKED AND BULGING. WE IMMEDIATELY CALLED LOCAL FORD DEALER. HE SAID HE DID NOT HAVE THE PARTS AND WE WOULD BE CONTACTED WHEN PARTS CAME IN. WE HAVE CONTACTED DEALER MULTIPLE TIMES BECAUSE THE DASH IS STILL BULGING WHERE PASSENGER AIRBAG IS LOCATED. WHAT REALLY CONCERNED US WAS THE FOLLOWING SENTENCE IN THE NOTICE: "A RUPTURED INFLATOR MAY RESULT IN METAL FRAGMENTS STRIKING VEHICLE OCCUPANTS CAUSING SERIOUS INJURY OR DEATH." CONSEQUENTLY WE HAVE BEEN AFRAID TO DRIVE THE FUSION AND SO IT JUST SITS IN OUR DRIVEWAY.
TAKATA RECALL RECEIVED SAFETY RECALL NHTSA RECALL 16V-384 IN JULY 2016. HAVE CALLED MULTIPLE FORD DEALERSHIPS AND THEY DO NOT HAVE PARTS. INCLUDED CALLING TODAY 11/7/2017. STILL NO PARTS AND HAVE RECEIVED NOTICE THAT TAKATA CORP. IS FILING BANKRUPTCY. HOW DO WE GET THIS VEHICLE FIXED? WHAT IS POINT OF RECALLS IF ONE CAN'T GET THE PROBLEMS TAKEN CARE OF?
TAKATA RECALL - I RECEIVED MY 1ST RECALL NOTICE FROM FORD DATED JULY 2016. AUG 24, 2016 I CALLED FORD AND THEY SAID THE PARTS ARE UNDER PRODUCTION AND WOULD BE AVAILABLE 4TH QUARTER 2016. I CALLED FORD 10/18/2016 AND THEY TOLD ME THEY ARE STILL ENGINEERING THE REPLACEMENT AIR BAGS. I WAS GIVEN INCORRECT INFORMATION IN AUGUST, AND I AM VERY CONCERNED IF FORD IS DOING ANYTHING AT ALL ABOUT THIS. I DO NOT DRIVE THIS CAR BECAUSE OF THE POSSIBLE DANGER, I HAD TO BUY ANOTHER CAR, AND IT IS HARD TO PAY FOR THE NEW CAR. MEANWHILE I CANNOT SELL THE FORD BECAUSE OF THE DANGER. SO PLEASE BE HONEST WITH ME, WHAT IS GOING ON WITH THE TAKATA AIR BAG RECALL?
"TAKAT RECALL" I RECEIVED A NOTICED FROM FORD DATE JULY, 2016 REGARDING AN IMPORTANT SAFETY RECALL FOR MY FRONTAL PASSENGER AIRBAG INFLATOR. I CALLED TO SEE WHEN I COULD BRING MY VEHICLE IN AND I WAS TOLD THAT THEY WILL SEND OUT A NOTIFICATION WHEN THE PARTS WERE AVAILABLE. A FEW MONTHS WENT BY AND I CALLED AGAIN AND WAS TOLD THE SAME STORY, PARTS WERE STILL NOT IN AND I WOULD BE NOTIFIED. MY MOST RECENT CALL WAS ON 10/31/17, TO COMPLAIN THAT THEY STILL HAVE ME DRIVING IN A DEATH TRAP WITH MY CHILDREN ON A DAILY BASIS AND THE WOMAN I SPOKE WITH SAID THAT THE PARTS WERE ON BACKORDER AND THEY WERE NOT SURE WHEN THEY WOULD BE AVAILABLE. SHE ALSO INFORMED ME THAT NOT ONLY IS MY PASSENGER SIDE A RECALL BUT ALSO, MY DRIVER AIRBAG IS FAULTY AS WELL!!! I'M DON'T KNOW WHAT TO DO AT THIS POINT BECAUSE OBVIOUSLY FORD DOES NOT CARE ABOUT THEIR CUSTOMERS AND I TRY NOT TO DRIVE MY CAR TOO OFTEN DUE TO THE FACT THAT IT IS A DEATH TRAP AT THIS POINT. "TAKATA RECALL" LETTER FIRST RECEIVED FROM FORD MOTOR COMPANY ON JULY 18, 2016. I HAVE EMAILED THEM FREQUENTLY THROUGH OCTOBER 30, 2017 AS TO THE STATUS OF REPAIRING THE BAG BUT THEY TELL ME THEY DO NOT A SOLUTION TO THE PROBLEM. AT SOME POINT THEREAFTER I WAS TOLD TK HOLDINGS, INC., AT P. O. BOX 3004 OF MONROE, WISCONSIN HAS ASSUMED THE RESPONSIBILITY OF A SUIT FILED BY VARIOUS PERSONS AS WELL AS THE RESPONSIBILITY OF RESOLVING THIS PROBLEM. I WROTE TO TK HOLDINGS AND WAS TOLD THERE WAS NOTHING THEY COULD DO OTHER THAN NOT LET ANYONE SIT IN THE FRONT RIDERS SEAT AFFECTED BY THE AIR BAG THAT NEEDS TO BE REPLACED.. I AM IRRITATED AND DISAPPOINTED THAT I CANNOT OBTAIN ANY REMUNERATION FOR MY INCONVENIENCE BUT MORE IMPORTANTLY I WANT TO GET THIS PROBLEM RESOLVED. PLEASE HELP. THANK YOU.

I WOULD LIKE TO KNOW WHEN PARTS WILL BE AVAILABLE TO MAKE REPAIRS TO MY VEHICLE.
WHILE DRIVING THE BRAKE PEDAL BEGAN TO FAIL, AS I PRESSED DOWN ON THE BRAKE IT TRAVELED TO THE FLOOR. THE BRAKES DID NOT ENGAGE, I QUICKLY RELEASED PRESSURE ON THE BRAKE PEDAL AND PRESSED AGAIN, THE BRAKES THEN ENGAGED BUT THE PEDAL STILL TRAVELED DOWN PAST ITS NORMAL POSITION. A WHILE AGO I BRAKED OVER A MAN HOLE COVER AND THE ANTI LOCK BRAKES KICKED IN AND I ALMOST CRASHED INTO THE CAR IN FRONT OF ME. EVER SINCE THIS HAPPENED THE BRAKES PUSH ABOUT 70% DOWN BEFORE ENGAGING. IT SEEMS SOMETHING HAS CHANGED WITH THE ABS SYSTEM WHEN THEY ENGAGE TOO EASILY.
