I RECEIVED A LETTER FROM FORD DATED JULY 2016 REGARDING A SAFETY RECAL NOTICE 16S26/NHTSA RECALL 16V-384. I BROUGHT MY VEHICLE TO MY LOCAL DEALERSHIP WHICH IS LESTER GLENN FORD 900NJ-35 OCEAN TOWNSHIP, NJ 07712 732-201-2167 TO HAVE THE PROBLEM RESOLVED. THEY TOLD ME THE PART (AIRBAG) WAS NOT AVAILABLE AND THEY WOULD CALL ME AS SOON AS IT WAS IN STOCK. I HAVE CALLED MANY TIMES AND I CONTINUE TO BE TOLD THAT THE PART IS NOT AVAILABLE. ITS BEEN 5 MONTHS! I WORK FOR A LEXUS DEALERSHIP AND ALL THE CUSTOMERS WITH THE SAME AIRBAG ISSUE HAVE BEEN GIVEN RENTAL CARS IN ORDER TO PROTECT THEIR SAFETY AND THOSE EFFECTED ARE GETTING THEIR AIRBAG FRONTAL AIRBAG INFLATOR REPLACED. WHY ISNT FORD DOING SOMETHING, I MEAN ITS NOT A BROKEN RADIO OR NAVIGATION ERROR, ITS A SAFETY ISSUE AND I FEEL FORD HAS DONE NOTHING TO HELP ME!

"TAKATA RECALL" : SINCE I RECEIVED NOTIFICATION OF THIS RECALL IN JULY 2016, I HAVE CALLED THE DEALERSHIP, CALLED FORD, CALLED NHTSA, AND FILLED OUT A COMPLAINT FORM THAT WAS MAILED TO ME BY NHTSA. THE DASH IN MY CAR IS BULGING ABOVE THE PASSENGER SIDE AIR BAG. MY MECHANIC IS TELLING ME THE AIR BAG IS LIKELY "TWISTED." I BELIEVE THIS QUALIFIES ME FOR AN IMMEDIATE REPAIR. FROM WHAT I READ ON THE RECALL SITE, FORD CAN DO AN "INTERIM" REPAIR ON HIGH RISK VEHICLES DEFINED AS: OLDER VEHICLES EXPOSED TO HIGH HUMIDITY/HIGH TEMP. I LIVED IN SANTA FE NM FROM MAY - AUGUST 2016 - WHICH IS ABOUT THE TIME I NOTICED THE SUDDEN BULGE IN THE DASH. I CURRENTLY LIVE IN FLORIDA WHICH IS ANOTHER HIGH HUMIDITY/HIGH TEMP CLIMATE. FORD SHOULD CONSIDER MY VEHICLE AS "HIGH RISK" AND SEND ME THE PAPERWORK I NEED TO HAVE IT REPAIRED IMMEDIATELY. AT THE VERY LEAST, THEY SHOULD SEND ME A VOUCHER SO I CAN TAKE IT TO ANY FORD DEALERSHIP TO GET IT CHECKED - FREE OF CHARGE. THE SUDDEN BULGE IN THE DASH ABOVE THE AIRBAG IS CLEARLY AN INDICATION SOMETHING IS WRONG. FORD SHOULD BE DOING EVERYTHING THEY CAN TO GET MY CAR CHECKED AND REPAIRED AT NO CHARGE TO ME. AT THIS POINT, NO ONE FROM FORD HAS CALLED OR MADE ANY ATTEMPT TO OFFER ME A SOLUTION. I WOULD LIKE TO KNOW WHAT RECOURSE I HAVE TO GET THIS TAKEN CARE OF.
TAKATA RECALL, I RECEIVED A NOTICE OF RECALL DATED JULY 2016,FOR PASSENGER SIDE AIRBAG REPLACEMENT. I WAS LIVING IN ZONE A, BUT HAVE SINCE RELOCATED. I AM CONCERNED THAT THE COVER AREA OF THE AIRBAG IS NOW SEPARATED, AND I DO NOT ALLOW ANYONE TO BE SEATED IN THE PASSENGERS SEAT. I WOULD LIKE TO ADD THAT I HAVE TAKEN EXCELLENT CARE OF MY SINCE THE DATE OF PURCHASE. IN THE WORST CASE SCENARIO SHOULD SOMEONE BE SEATED IN THE PASSENGER AREA AND THE BAG DEPLOYS IN A NON ACCIDENT TIME OF TRAVEL I WILL BE LEFT WITH NO OTHER OPTION BUT TO SEEK CIVIL ACTION FOR ALL DAMAGES, BOTH INJURY AND INTERIOR DAMAGES. TAKATA RECALL IT'S BEEN 6 MONTHS SINCE I'VE BEEN NOTIFIED OF THE RECALL AND STILL NO FURTHER COMMUNICATION HAS FOLLOWED. THERE HAS CERTAINLY BEEN ENOUGH TIME PASSED FOR A SOLUTION TO HAVE BEEN ARRANGED. MY DAUGHTER DRIVES THIS CAR AND I'M WORRIED ABOUT HER SAFETY. SAFETY RECALL NOTICE 16S26/NHTSA RECALL 16V-384. THIS RECALL IS A YEAR OLD AND NOTHING HAS HAPPENED TO FIX THE PROBLEM. THIS IS VERY UNACCEPTABLE AS IT RELATES TO SAFETY AND ENOUGH TIME HAS TRANSPIRED.
TAKATA RECALL. I RECEIVED NOTIFICATION OF THE SAFETY RECALL IN JULY 2016 REGARDING THE PASSENGER SIDE AIRBAG IN MY CAR. THE LETTER INDICATED FOLLOW-UP FOR REPLACEMENT OF THIS AIRBAG WOULD BE SENT FROM FORD MOTOR COMPANY ONCE PARTS ARE AVAILABLE. I RECOGNIZE THIS IS A MASSIVE RECALL, BUT IT IS NOW A YEAR LATER AND THERE HAS BEEN NO FURTHER FOLLOW-UP. ARE REPLACEMENTS PARTS STILL UNAVAILABLE? I CONTINUE TO NOT ALLOW PASSENGERS TO RIDE IN MY FRONT PASSENGER SEAT AND AM CONCERNED FOR MY OWN SAFETY AS WELL. ANY INFORMATION IS APPRECIATED.

TAKATA RECALL IT HAS BEEN OVER A YEAR SINCE I WAS NOTIFIED OF THE RECALL. THEY SHOULD BE ABLE TO REPLACE DEFECTIVE ITEM OR OFFER AN ALTERNATIVE SOLUTION. THIS CAR HAS BEEN A SINGLE PASSENGER VEHICLE SINCE THE RECALL NOTICE WAS RECEIVED. THIS HAS MADE IT DIFFICULT COMMUTING TO WORK AND TAKING THE KIDS TO THE EXTRA CURRICULAR ACTIVITIES. TAKATA AND FORD SHOULD OFFER A REBATE/INCENTIVE FOR TRADING IN THESE DEATH TRAPS. IN THE MEAN TIME, I AM STILL PAYING TOP DOLLAR PROPERTY TAX ON THIS DEFECTIVE UNIT. NOT FAIR!!! IT HAS BEEN OVER A YEAR FOR PASSENGER SIDE AND THE DRIVER SIDE IS RECALLED AND THERE IS NO ETA FOR REPLACEMENT.

I HAVE CALLED THE FORD DEALERSHIP MULTIPLE TIMES TO SCHEDULE REPLACEMENT, REPLACEMENT HAS NOT OCCURRED AS THEY STATE "PART" NOT AVAILABLE. IT IS UNACCEPTABLE THAT REPLACEMENT HAS NOT OCCURRED. I HAVE NOT EXPERIENCED AN ACCIDENT THAT WOULD TRIGGER AIRBAG - THANK GOD! IS THERE A WAY OF GETTING AN IMMEDIATE REPLACEMENT? I HAVE CALLED FORD CUSTOMER SERVICE WITH NO RESULTS.
TAKATA RECALL TODAY NOVEMBER 11, 2017, WE CALLED SALINAS VALLEY FORD, SPOKE TO SERVICE WRITER, ELIZABETH ZAMORA, ABOUT THIS RECALL. SHE CHECKED WITH PARTS AND NO PARTS ARE AVAILABLE FOR REPACEMENT OR REPAIR.
"TAKATA RECALL" NOTICE WAS GIVEN IN JULY 2016 THAT THE AIRBAGS WERE DEFECTIVE AND WOULD BE REPLACED. THEY ARE A DISASTER WAITING TO HAPPEN. WE JUST WANT REPLACEMENT BEFORE THIS HAPPENS.
TAKATA RECALL. I HAVE CONTACTED SEVERAL FORD DEALERSHIPS ABOUT COMPLETING THE RECALL REPLACEMENT OF MY AIRBAGS BUT HAVE BEEN TOLD REPEATEDLY THAT THEY DO NOT YET HAVE THE PARTS NECESSARY TO DO IT. IT HAS BEEN WELL OVER A YEAR AND IT IS UNACCEPTABLE THAT THE RECALL CANNOT BE COMPLETED WHEN THERE IS A CLEAR SAFETY HAZARD ASSOCIATED WITH THE TAKATA AIRBAGS.
TAKATA RECALL I RECEIVED A LETTER DATED JULY 2016 FROM MY LOCAL FORD DEALERSHIP (BLOOMINGTON FORD IN BLOOMINGTON, IN), SAYING THAT MY CAR FELL UNDER THE TAKATA AIRBAG RECALL AND THAT THEY WOULD CONTACT ME WHEN THE PARTS WERE AVAILABLE TO FIX IT. IT HAS NOW BEEN NEARLY 18 MONTHS SINCE THAT LETTER WAS SENT, AND I CONTACTED THE DEALERSHIP EARLIER THIS MONTH TO SEE IF MY CAR COULD BE REPAIRED. THEY TOLD ME THEY STILL DID NOT HAVE THE REQUIRED MATERIALS TO COMPLETE THE RECALL REPAIRS. I AM EXTREMELY CONCERNED ABOUT THE LENGTH OF TIME THIS IS TAKING. I AM VERY AWARE THAT MY PASSENGER AIR BAG COULD CAUSE FATAL INJURY, AND AS I'M LOOKING TO SELL THE CAR IN THE NEXT YEAR OR TWO I'M CONCERNED THAT THE PROBLEM WOULDN'T BE CORRECTED BEFORE THAT HAPPENS AND THAT THE NEXT OWNERS MAY UNKNOWINGLY BE DRIVING A CAR WITH A POTENTIALLY FATAL DEFECT. I KNOW I'M NOT THE ONLY ONE WHO IS DEALING WITH MASSIVE DELAYS ON THIS RECALL REPAIR PROCESS, BUT I WAS HOPING THAT THE NHTSA COULD COME UP WITH SOME REMEDY THAT COULD GET MY CAR FIXED FASTER. I'D ALSO LIKE YOU TO CONFIRM THAT THE LOCAL DEALERSHIPS ARE AS OF NOW UNABLE TO FIX MY CAR IN ANY WAY, BECAUSE IT FEELS LIKE SOMETHING COULD BE DONE EVEN IF TAKATA HAS DECIDED TO FILE BANKRUPTCY. THE LAST DATE, 11-17-17, THE PRESIDENT, MICHAEL MAXEY FOLLOWED UP WITH HIS DEALERSHIP PARTS REP TO SEE IF THEY COULD GET A PASSENGER AIRBAG. HIS MESSAGE STATES THAT THERE ARE NO AVAILABLE FORD AIRBAGS IN MI OR ANY OTHER STATE AVAILABLE. WE HAVE BEEN TRYING TO REPLACE THIS AIRBAG SINCE RECEIVING THE SAFETY RECALL LETTER IN JULY OF 2016. CAN YOU HELP?

TAKATA RECALL I RECEIVED A RECALL NOTICE IN JULY OF 2016 AND AS OF TODAY DEC. 21ST 2017 THEY SAY THEY STILL DON'T HAVE THE PROPER PARTS TO FIX THIS EXTREMELY IMPORTANT ISSUE. WHY IS THIS NOT GETTING ANY ATTENTION AFTER 1 1/2 YEARS SINCE I RECEIVED THE NOTICE ?
TAKATA RECALL. NUMEROUS DELAYS BY THE FORD MOTOR COMPANY IN SECURING A PERMANENT FIX FOR THE PASSENGER AIRBAG RECALL HAVE LEFT ME WITH A CAR OF LIMITED USE. REPAIR PARTS FOR PRIORITY GROUP 6 WERE SUPPOSED TO BE AVAILABLE LATE 3RD QUARTER 2017, BUT THE 5TH AMENDMENT TO THE CRO DELAYED THIS TO LATE 1ST QUARTER 2018. FORD'S LETTER IN DECEMBER 2017 NOW INDICATES IT IS UNSAFE FOR OCCUPANTS TO SIT IN THE PASSENGER SEAT, MAKING THE CAR ONLY PARTLY USABLE. IT DOES NOT APPEAR TO ME THAT FORD IS RESOLVING THIS ISSUE IN A TIMELY FASHION, AND NOW MY FAMILY'S SAFETY IN THE CAR IS QUESTIONABLE. DUE TO THE MULTIPLE DELAYS, FORD SHOULD ALLOW OWNERS TO REQUEST A TEMPORARY, LIKE-FOR-LIKE REPLACEMENT AT NO COST TO REDUCE THE RISK OF FAILURE UNTIL THE PERMANENT FIX IS AVAILABLE. THIS WOULD ALSO RESTORE FULL FUNCTIONALITY OF THE VEHICLE BY PERMITTING USE OF THE PASSENGER SEAT. THE FIRST INCIDENT WITH MY 2007 FUSION BRAKES OCCURRED JUNE 23, 2016. I WAS GOING DOWN A SIDE STREET NEAR MY HOME ABOUT 20 MPH IN THE DAY TIME WHEN I NOTICED A WOMAN TUMBLING INTO TRAFFIC FROM HER BICYCLE. I STOPPED SUDDENLY TO AVOID RUNNING OVER HER. I STOPPED TO HELP HER BUT AFTERWARDS AS I CONTINUED ON MY WAY I NOTICED MY BRAKES WERE VERY SQUISHY. I HAD TO PRESS EXTRA HARD AT EACH INTERSECTION TO GET THEM TO STOP.
