TAKAKA RECALL-RECALL LETTER RECEIVED JUNE 2016--CALLS TO DEALER KOONS FORD SAYS THEY'RE STILL WAITING FOR AIRBAG-ITS BEEN18 MONTHS SINCE NOTICE THAT PASSENGER TAKATA AIRBAG UNSAFE-CAR CAN NOT BE SAFELY DRIVEN--NO REPLACEMENT CAR OFFERED. AS SENIORS, TOO AFRAID TO TAKE CHANCE DRIVING CAR.--CAR WILL BECOME UNUSABLE.
TAKATA RECALL: MY NAME IS [XXX], AND I HAVE BEEN WAITING WELL OVER 4 MONTHS SINCE A RECALL FOR THE PASSENGER FRONTAL AIRBAG INFLATOR RECALL ON MY VEHICLE. MY AIRBAG LIGHT HAS BEEN ON SINCE JUNE 2016 AND I RECEIVED A LETTER TOWARD IN JULY 2016 INFORMING ME OF THIS SAFETY RISK AND THAT WHEN PARTS ARE AVAILABLE I WILL BE CONTACTED THROUGH THE MAIL FOR A REPAIR. HERE IT IS NOW 3 DAYS AWAY FROM THE MONTH OF NOVEMBER AND NO ONE HAS REACHED OUT TO REMEDY THIS SITUATION. THIS IS TOTALLY UNACCEPTABLE FOR A COMPANY TO AVOID THE RESPONSIBILITIES AND PUTTING INDIVIDUALS AT RISK! THIS IS THE SECOND COMPLAINT THAT I HAVE FILED WITH YOUR COMPANY. THE CONTACT CALLED RON LEWIS FORD BEAVER FALLS (201 7TH AVE, BEAVER FALLS, PA 15010, (724) 843-1000) SEVERAL TIMES TO ARRANGE AN APPOINTMENT, BUT THE PART WAS NOT AVAILABLE. THE DEALER MADE NO MENTION OF A LOANER VEHICLE OPTION. THE MANUFACTURER WAS CONTACTED. THE CONTACT HAD NOT EXPERIENCED A FAILURE. PARTS DISTRIBUTION DISCONNECT.
MY PASSENGER AIRBAG IS BOWED. IT JUST STARTED RECENTLY, IN THE LAST FEW WEEKS. I CALLED FORD AND THEY SAID MY VIN ISN'T ON THE LIST, BUT I HAVE ALL THE SYMPTOMS OF THIS ISSUE. I WAS TOLD TO GO DIRECTLY TO THE DEALERSHIP SINCE IT WAS SO UNSAFE, BUT THE DEALERSHIP TURNED ME AWAY. BASICALLY I WAS TOLD THE PASSENGER AIR BAG CAN DEPLOY AND SHOOT SHRAPNEL AT PASSENGERS. CALLED FORD AND THEY SAID FOR SAFETY REASONS I SHOULD TAKE IT IN RIGHT AWAY. FORD CALLED THE CLOSEST DEALERSHIP AND THEY TURNED ME AWAY BECAUSE MY VIN ISN'T ON THE LIST. THE RECALL IS NOW, HOWEVER, SO IT COULD STILL BE ADDED. IN THE MEANTIME, I'M DRIVING AROUND IN A CAR THAT COULD THROW SHRAPNEL AT MY FACE AND NECK AT ANY MOMENT. TAKATA RECALL; I HAVE BEEN TRYING SINCE JUNE 2016 TO GET MY GRANDDAUGHTERS CAR 'S AIRBAGS REPLACED. THE CAR HAS BEEN RECALLED AND WE CONTINUE TO RECEIVE NOTICES. I RECENTLY RECEIVED THE LEGAL NOTICE FROM TK HOLDINGS CO, INC. TO CONTACT YOUR ENTITY TO TRY TO RESOLVE THIS IMPORTANT SAFETY ISSUE. WE WOULD BE DEVASTATED IF SOMETHING HAPPENED TO MY GRANDDAUGHTER WHILE IN HER CAR DUE TO FAULTY AIRBAGS. OUR CAR DEALER, DUPRATT FORD IN DIXON, CA. TAKATA RECALL -- I RECEIVED A NOTICE DATED JUNE 2016 ABOUT HAVING THE PASSENGER AIRBAG REPLACED. I'VE NOT RECEIVED ANY FURTHER COMMUNICATION. I'VE CALLED THE DEALERSHIP SEVERAL TIMES TO BE TOLD THEY DO NOT HAVE THE PARTS YET. I THINK A YEAR AND 4 MONTHS IS PLENTY OF TIME TO GET PARTS.
AFTER 75K MILES, PTU (POWER TRANSFER UNIT) GEAR INSIDE WENT OUT ON 2007 FORD FUSION AWD AUTO. COST TO REPLACE $2213. NOTICING MANY COMPLAINTS ONLINE WITH FORD AWD PRODUCTS; CALLED FORD MOTOR CO TO ASK FOR RECALL/REIMBURSEMENT BECAUSE I TAKE GREAT CARE OF THE VEHICLE AND FEEL THIS IS A FLAW, NOT A RESULT OF NEGLECT OR MISUSE. JUST PURCHASED 2016 FORD FUSION AWD, NOT AWARE OF THIS ISSUE, SO AM CONCERNED ABOUT THE FEASIBILITY OF IT BEING AN ISSUE LATER SINCE IT DOESN'T APPEAR THEY ARE LOOKING AT CORRECTING THE PROBLEM. TOLD THAT IF I DON'T FIX THIS, THE TRANSMISSION WILL MOST LIKELY GO OUT. WHILE AUTO IS DRIVEABLE, IT IS DANGEROUS TO DO SO - PARTICULARLY ON INTERSTATE/HIGHWAYS, SO I AM HAVING IT FIXED.
