THE AUTOMATIC CAR SHIFTED INTO REVERSE WHEN COMING TO A STOP ALL ON ITS OWN. THIS HAPPENED ON A COUNTRY ROUD IT DID THIS THREE TIMES BEFORE THE TRANSMISSION FAILED. ONE OF THE FOUR OCCUPANTS BACK WAS SPRAINED AND DID NOT SEEK IMMEDIATE MEDICAL ATTENTION BUT STILL MAY HAVE TO.
BETWEEN 55-65K THE BRAKE PEDAL BECAME SOFT/MUSHY AND SPORADICALLY WOULD GO ALL THE WAY TO THE FLOOR/FIREWALL WHEN TRYING TO STOP; SOMETIMES ROLLING THROUGH A STOP SIGN OR A TRAFFIC LIGHT. AT FIRST, IT WAS SPORADIC; THEN, THE BRAKES NEEDED TO BE PUMPED EVERY TIME BEFORE STOPPING OR THE CAR WOULD CONTINUE TO TRAVEL AS THE BRAKE PEDAL WOULD GO ALL THE WAY TO THE FLOOR/FIREWALL. EVENTUALLY PUMPING THE BRAKES DID NOT WORK AND I HAD A MUSHY BRAKE PEDAL WITH NO BRAKES AT ALL THAT WOULD GO RIGHT TO THE FLOOR AND THE CAR WOULD NOT STOP. I HAD NEW ROTORS AND PADS INSTALLED AND BLED THE BRAKES BUT THIS DID NOT CORRECT THE PROBLEM. AFTER RESEARCHING AND DIAGNOSING THE PROBLEM I BOUGHT AND INSTALLED A USED HYDRAULIC CONTROL UNIT FROM THE IDENTICAL MAKE, YEAR AND MODEL AS MY CAR. I COULD NOT AFFORD A NEW UNIT AT $880.00 DOLLARS PLUS TAX AND DEALER INSTALLATION $$$$. THE BRAKES WORKED FINE AFTER THE USED HYDRAULIC CONTROL UNIT WAS INSTALLED. THE PROBLEM IS THAT AFTER AN ANTI-LOCK BREAKING EVENT A VALVE IN THE UNIT REMAINS STUCK IN THE OPEN POSITION AND CAUSES THE SOFT BREAKING.
ELECTRONIC THROTTLE BODY MALFUNCTION WHILE DRIVING ON HIGHWAY AT 70MPH (SPEED LIMIT), USING CRUISE CONTROL. ALL ACCELERATION CONTROL STOPPED WORKING. HAD TO MANEUVER ACROSS HIGHWAY, THROUGH ACTIVE TRAFFIC, TO SHOULDER TO TURN OFF THE CAR. WAITED FOR A FEW MINUTES AND SUCCESSFULLY RESTARTED. GOT HOME AND HAD TO TAKE THE CAR TO THE MECHANIC THE NEXT DAY BECAUSE IT WOULDN'T ACCELERATE PAST 40MPH.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 FORD FUSION. WHILE DRIVING 37 MPH, THE AIR BAG WARNING LIGHT ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED NOR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 55,000.
TAKATA RECALL. I RECEIVED MAIL SPRING OF 2017 THAT MY VEHICLE WAS PART OF THE TAKATA RECALL BUT TO DATE FORD HAS BEEN UNABLE TO FIX THE ISSUE BEHIND THE RECALL. THE TIME BETWEEN WHEN I WAS NOTIFIED AND NOW IS TOO LONG. I AM FILING A COMPLAINT. AT THIS POINT I'M ESTIMATING THE DATE I WAS NOTIFIED. I DON'T HAVE ACCESS TO THE LETTER.
I RECEIVED A RECALL NOTICE IN 2016 ABOUT THE TAKATA AIRBAGS. I HAVE BEEN SEEING THE DANGERS OF THE DEFECTIVE AIRBAGS AND THE IMPORTANCE OF GETTING THEM REPLACED. I HAVE CONTACTED THE DEALER AND CHECKED THE ONLINE VIN RECALL SERVICES AND ALL I KEEP HEARING IS THE SOLUTION IS STILL NOT AVAILABLE. BY THIS TIME I AM GETTING VERY CONCERNED WHAT MY HAPPEN IN THE EVENT OF AN ACCIDENT
MY DRIVER'S SIDE DOOR HANDLE BROKE MAKING IT IMPOSSIBLE TO EXIT THE CAR IN THE CASE OF AN EMERGENCY. ALSO, THE JUNCTION BOX NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. WHILE DRIVING, MY CAR TURN SIGNAL WOULD NOT WORK AND STAYED ON AS A SOLID LIGHT VERSUS TURN SIGNAL CAUSING MY BATTERY TO DIE AND COULD HAVE POTENTIALLY CREATED AN ACCIDENT SINCE THE TURN SIGNAL WAS NOT WORKING PROPERLY. EVEN WHEN THE CAR WAS OFF AND THE KEYS WERE OUT, THE LIGHT STAYED ON. BOTH OF THESE ARE SERIOUS SAFETY HAZARDS! THERE SHOULD BE A RECALL ON BOTH ISSUES!
WHILE DRIVING, CAR WOULD INTERMITTENTLY JERK FOR NO REASON. THEN, WHILE SITTING AT A TRAFFIC LIGHT IN THE TURN LANE, CAR STALLED AND DIED. I JUST PURCHASED THIS VEHICLE (134,000+ MILES, DETAILED SERVICE RECORDS AND MECHANICS DIAGNOSTIC PRIOR TO PURCHASE). APPARENTLY, THE PREVIOUS OWNER ALSO COMPLAINED OF THE CAR STALLING AND HAD REPLACED STARTER AND TCM AND HAD THROTTLE CLEANED BUT (UNBEKNOWNST TO ME), APPARENTLY NONE OF THESE THINGS FIXED THE ISSUE. I SPOKE WITH ONE FORD DEALER WHO SERVICED THE VEHICLE AND WAS TOLD THAT ALTHOUGH THE OWNER COMPLAINED OF THE PROBLEM, THEY WERE NOT ABLE TO RECREATE THE PROBLEM. I HAVE SEARCHED VARIOUS FORUMS AND FOUND THAT OTHER DRIVERS HAVE EXPERIENCED THE SAME ISSUE. IT ALSO APPEARS THAT FORD VEHICLES 2009-2011 WITH LESS THAN 150,000 MILES EXPERIENCING THE SAME PROBLEMS WERE LISTED UNDER A RECALL BUT NOT 2007. IT SEEMS IF THE SAME ISSUE IS CREATING A DRIVING SAFETY HAZARD FOR EARLIER MODEL CARS, THOSE VEHICLES SHOULD ALSO BE INCLUDED UNDER THE RECALL.
I HAVE HAD TWO INCIDENTS WHERE MY BRAKE PEDAL WENT TO THE FLOOR AND I HAD NO BRAKES. THE FIRST TIME, OCTOBER 21, 2015, THE DEALER COULDN'T PINPOINT THE PROBLEM AND SUGGESTED REPLACING THE REAR BRAKES WHICH WERE WORN (NOTE: THEY HAD PASSED INSPECTION NO LONG BEFORE THIS TIME). I AGREED TO THIS REPAIR. THEN ON APRIL 2, THE PEDAL ONCE AGAIN WENT TO THE FLOOR WHEN I BRAKED. I PUMPED THE BRAKES AND WAS ABLE TO STOP FOR A RED LIGHT WITHOUT HITTING THE CAR IN FRONT OF ME. THIS TIME THE DEALER REPLACED THE ABS VALVE MODULE, FLUSHED AND REPLACED THE BRAKE FLUID. LUCKILY DURING BOTH INCIDENTS I WAS DRIVING ON CITY STREETS AT LOW SPEEDS. THE FIRST INCIDENT OCCURRED AFTER I HIT A POT HOLE WITH MY RIGHT FRONT TIRE. AS SOON AS I BRAKED THE PEDAL WENT TO THE FLOOR. THE SECOND TIME I HIT A ROUGH PATCH WHERE THE STREET HAD BEEN DUG UP AND TEMPORARILY PATCHED. I SUSPECT THERE IS SOMETHING GOING ON BETWEEN THE ABS SYSTEM AND THE BRAKES. EVEN WITH THE LATEST REPAIR I HAVE LOST ALL CONFIDENCE IN THE CAR'S BRAKES. I WOULD HATE TO THINK WHAT WOULD HAVE HAPPENED HAD A CAR BEEN DIRECTLY IN FRONT OF ME OR HAD I BEEN TRAVELING AT HIGHWAY SPEED. I DO NOT WANT TO EXPERIENCE ANOTHER INCIDENT OF THIS SUDDEN, UNEXPLAINED BRAKE LOSS.
I HAVE BEEN CALLING THE SURROUNDING DEALERSHIPS TO HELP MY GET MY CAR IN FOR THE RECALL FOR OVER A YEAR AND A HALF AND NOW THAT I HAVE TO PAY FOR MY RENEWAL FEES WITH THE DMV, I HAVE TO GET THE CAR SMOGGED AND IT WILL NOT PASS DUE TO THE AIRBAG INDICATOR LIGHT NOT TURNING OFF. I WAS TOLD THAT THE PART IS NOT IN YET AND YET HERE WE ARE LATE SEPTEMBER 2018.
THE INTERIOR DOOR HANDLE BROKE. I PULLED INTO A PARKING SPOT AND TRIED TO GET OUT BUT THE DOOR LATCH FAILED. THE PIECE THAT BROKE IS BEHIND THE DOOR TRIM. THE DOOR CAN'T BE OPENED FROM THE INSIDE WHICH IS A HUGE SAFETY HAZARD. AFTER SEARCHING THE INTERNET IT IS APPARENT THAT THIS IS A COMMON ISSUE WITH SEVERAL MODEL YEARS. I HAVEN'T EVEN HIT 100,000 MILES AND THIS CAR IS FALLING APART. FORD SHOULD BE ASHAMED THAT THEY ARE NOT ADDRESSING THESE SERIOUS ISSUES WITH THE FUSION. I PAID $23,000 FOR THIS CAR AND I HAVE BABIED IT SINCE I BOUGHT IT. THIS SHOULD NOT BE HAPPENING. NOBODY SHOULD EVER BUY A FORD AND I KNOW I WILL NEVER BUY ANOTHER FORD AND I'M CONSIDERING PARKING MY CAR OUTSIDE OF FORD DEALERSHIPS WITH A SIGN THAT READS "ASK ME ABOUT MY FORD PURCHASE BEFORE YOU BUY A FORD" MAYBE THAT WILL GET THEIR ATTENTION.
THE DASHBOARD AROUND THE PASSENGER SIDE AIRBAG IS DEFORMED. IT HAS SEPARATED AND HAS STARTED TO "PEEL" UPWARD. THE AIRBAG LIGHT HAS ALSO COME ONE. NOT SURE IF RELATED.
TOP RAIGHT SIDE IN PASENGER SIDE IS DAMAGE.FROM LAST 2 YEARS. AND PART IF THE DRIVER SIDE IS DEMAGE.
TAKATA RECALL, I HAVE BEEN COMPLAINING FOR OVER TWO YEARS ABOUT MY AIR BAGS TO THE DEALER AND THEY HAVE DONE NOTHING, IS A MATTER OF FACT THE AIRBAG LOOKS LIKE IT READY TO EXPLODE AND THEY STILL DON'T CARE. I AM VERY UPSET
DASHBOARD AROUND PASSENGER SIDE AIRBAG IS DEFORMED. PASSENGER SIDE AIRBAG STOPPED WORKING AS WELL.
TAKATA RECALL I RECEIVED A LETTER FROM FORD IN JULY 2016 STATING THAT A DEFECT IN THE PASSENGER SIDE AIR BAG COULD CAUSE DEATH TO THE PASSENGER IN THE EVENT OF AN ACCIDENT. IT FURTHER STATED THAT I WOULD RECEIVE ANOTHER LETTER WHEN PARTS ARE AVAILABLE. NOW, 8 MONTHS LATER, I HAVE NOT RECEIVED ANOTHER LETTER, AND THE LOCAL DEALER DOES NOT HAVE THE PARTS FOR THE RECALL SERVICE AND DOES NOT KNOW WHEN THOSE PARTS WILL BE AVAILABLE. BASED ON INFORMATION ON THE FORD WEB SITE I DETERMINED THAT MY CAR IS HIGH RISK FOR SERIOUS AIR BAG MALFUNCTION BECAUSE OF ITS AGE (10 YEARS) TEMPERATURE FLUCTUATIONS, AND HUMIDITY VARIATIONS. IN SPITE OF THIS VERY DANGEROUS CONDITION, KNOWN BY FORD MOTOR COMPANY FOR A LONG TIME THEY HAVE NOT PERFORMED THE CORRECTION NOR ADVISED ME WHEN THEY WILL PERFORM IT.
THE DASH ON THE PASSENGER AIR BAG PROTRUDED OUT SEVERAL MONTHS AGO. I CAN SEE THE AIRBAG IN THE GAP FROM WHERE THE DASH HAS STUCK OUT. WITH THE AND HUMID WEATHER IN TENNESSEE THIS LAST WEEKS, IT APPEARS THE PROTRUSION IS GETTING WORSE. I HAVE SEEN SEVERAL COMPLAINTS ON THIS ISSUE. MY CAR IS ON THE RECALL FOR THE TAKATA INFLATORS ISSUES AND FORD NEEDS TO HAVE A RECALL AND DETERMINE HOW TO CORRECT DASH FROM PROTRUDING. I AM VERY VERY VERY CONCERNED WITH ANY PASSENGERS IN MY CAR AND FOR MYSELF IF THE AIR BAG EXPLODES AND IF NO ONE IS INJURED I AM CONCERNED IF I CAN DRIVING THE EXPLODING AIR BAG COULD CAUSE ME TO HAVE AN ACCIDENT. THE CAR HAS ALWAYS MADE STRANGE NOISES WHEN GOING OVER BUMBS. I JUST THOUGHT IT WAS NORMAL. A COUPLE OF MONTHS AGO, THE CAR STARTED MAKING A POPPING NOISE AS I BACKED OUT OF MY DRIVEWAY. NOW IT HAS PROGRESSED TO LOUD POPPING NOISE WHEN I ACCELERATE AND APPLY THE BRAKES. I HAD THE CAR LOOKED AT AND I WAS TOLD SOMETHING IS WRONG WITH THE SUBFRAME AND TO TAKE IT TO FORD. IT TURNS OUT THAT WELDS IN THE SUBFRAME ARE CRACKED AND CAUSING THE LOUD POPPING NOISES AND VEHICLE STABILITY ISSUES. THIS IS A KNOWN ISSUE BUT FORD WILL NOT FIX THE ISSUE UNTIL SOMEONE DIES I GUESS.
MY 2007 FORD FUSION MAKES A LOUD, HIDIOUS, NOISE WHEN I TURN MY WEELS, EVEN IN THE SLIGHTEST. HARD TO EXPLAIN THE NOISE BUT WHEN IT'S COLDER OUTSIDE IT DOESN'T MAKE IT AND WHEN IT GETS HOT OUTSIDE, THEN IT GETS WORSE LIKE SOMETHING IS EXPANDING AND CONTRACTING WITH THE TEMPERATURE OUTSIDE. ANYTIME MY TIRE'S MOVE THAT NOISE IS MADE. BTW IT IS A AWD WHEEL DRIVE KEEPS GETTING WATER IN TAIL LIGHTS AND BLOWING BULBS MAYBE PART OF TAKATA RECALL AS WELL.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNED A 2007 FORD FUSION. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING AT APPROXIMATELY 55 MPH, THE VEHICLE CRASHED INTO A VEHICLE PARTIALLY STOPPED AND BLOCKING A HIGHWAY EXIT. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE DRIVER'S FRONTAL AIR BAG FAILED TO DEPLOY. THE CONTACT SUSTAINED AN INJURY TO THE HAND AND SORE RIBS WHICH REQUIRED MEDICAL ATTENTION. THE OTHER DRIVER WAS NOT INJURED. A POLICE REPORT WAS NOT FILED. THE CONTACT WAS ABLE TO DRIVE AWAY FROM THE SCENE HOWEVER, THE OTHER DRIVER HAD HER VEHICLE TOWED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT TAKEN TO BE DIAGNOSED. THE VEHICLE WAS DEEMED A TOTAL LOSS WHEN BROUGHT TO THE BODY SHOP. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. NEITHER THE DEALER NOR MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 117,526. THE VEHICLE WAS DESTROYED.
THE DASH AROUND THE PASSENGER SIDE AIR BAG IS SEPARATING FROM THE AREA WHERE THE AIR BAG IS LOCATED.
ABS BRAKE FAILURE. THIS IS A FOLLOW UP TO MY PREVIOUS REPORT. FORD DOES NOT HAVE A NEW HCU MODULE AVAILABLE TO CORRECT THIS MALFUNCTION. I HAD TO PAY THE LABOR FOR THREE USED MODULES TO BE INSTALLED BEFORE THE ABS SYSTEM WORKED PROPERLY. FORD DEALERS CONTINUE TO SELL 2007 TO 2009 FUSION AND MILANS WITH THIS POTENTIAL DANGEROUS PROBLEM.
ON JAN. 20 2016, I WAS DRIVING MY 2007 FUSION AND PULLED INTO MY DRIVEWAY AND THE DRIVER'S DOOR POPPED OPEN ON IT'S OWN. LUCKILY I WAS MOVING SLOWLY AND IT DID NOT HIT ANY THING. THE DOOR WOULD NOT LATCH AND COULD NOT CLOSE IT. I HAD TO USE A HEAVY BUNGEE CORD TO HOLD DOOR CLOSED SO I COULD DRIVE IT TO DEALER FOR REPAIR. WAS TOLD THAT THE DOOR HINGES FAILED, CAUSING DOOR TO DROP AND BREAK THE SPRING PAWL IN DOOR LATCH. SO $900 LATER THEY REPAIRED THE DOOR AND I WAS ABLE TO OPERATE CAR SAFELY AGAIN. I FEEL THAT THE HINGES WERE FAULTY AND CAUSED A SAFETY FAILURE. I SEE THAT SOME NEWER MODELS ARE BEING RECALLED FOR FAULTY DOOR HINGES CURRENTLY. THIS RECALL SHOULD BE EXTENDED TO 2007 MODELS. I FEEL I SHOULD BE REIMBURSED FOR ALL OR PART OF WHAT HAD TO PAY TO FIX IT. ALSO SHOULD SEE IF THIS AFFECTING OTHER OWNERS. MILEAGE WAS 96,575.
AIRBAG LIGHT CAME ON AT ABOUT 85,000 MILES. OCCURRED AFTER STARTING UP AFTER BEING PARKED FACING THE WIND ON A VERY WINDY DAY. TOOK TO DEALER, NEEDS NEW RCM MODULE. WAS TOLD NO AIRBAGS WOULD DEPLOY UNTIL REPLACED. APPARENTLY IT IS VERY EXPENSIVE REPAIR FOR SOMETHING THAT CONCERNS SAFETY OF THE VEHICLE.
OUR FORD FUSION SUDDENLY LOST POWER AND STARTING ACTING IN AN UNPREDICTABLE FASHION, WHILE TRAVELING ON RTE 95 NORTH IN THE PASSING LANE. WE NARROWLY AVOIDED A REAR END COLLISION WITH THE VEHICLE BEHIND US, AS WELL AS OTHER VEHICLES AS WE WORKED TO GET OVER TO THE SAFETY OF THE BREAKDOWN LANE. AN ORANGE WRENCH LIGHT WAS IN AN "ON" STATE AND THE CAR WAS RUNNING VERY ROUGH. AFTER CHECKING ALL GAUGES AND FLUIDS, I RESTARTED THE CAR AND FOUND IT TO BE IN A NORMAL STATE AGAIN, WITH NO WRENCH LIGHT VISIBLE. WE TURNED AROUND AND HEADED HOME. THIS CONDITION OCCURRED ONE MORE TIME ABOUT 45 MILES LATER, JUST A FEW MILES FROM OUR HOME, SAME RESULT. I RESEARCHED THE ISSUE AND FOUND THAT THE NHTSA IS AWARE OF THIS PROBLEM AND HAS BEEN ASKED TO FIX OVER 1 MILLION CARS EXHIBITING THE SAME ISSUE. I CONTACTED FORD, AS RECOMMENDED IN A REPORT I DISCOVERED ONLINE. THEIR RESPONSE WAS THAT, WHILE THEY WERE AWARE OF THE ISSUE AND THE PROBLEMS IT CAUSES, OUR 2007 FUSION WAS NOT COVERED AND WE ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR THE REPAIRS. THIS ISSUE JUST OCCURRED TODAY, THEREFORE I HAVE NO DOCUMENTATION, OTHER THAN WHAT IS AVAILABLE ON MANY WEBSITES AND BLOGS, DOCUMENTED BY OTHER FORD OWNERS, COMPLAINING OF THE SAME ISSUE. AM I TO UNDERSTAND THAT OF THE MILLION PLUS CARS HAVING THIS PROBLEM, SOME WILL BE CORRECTED, WHILE FOR SOME REASON THAT FORD COULD NOT EXPLAIN, SOME ARE NOT?

THE CONTACT ALSO STATED THAT THE VEHICLE FAILED TO ACCELERATE AND CONTINUED TO DRIVE AT A REDUCED SPEED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE IGNITION AND POWER CONTROL MODULE NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 160,000.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 FORD FUSION. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE FAILED TO START AFTER SEVERAL ATTEMPTS. THE CONTACT MENTIONED THAT ON SEVERAL OCCASIONS WHEN THE VEHICLE WAS ABLE TO START, IT FAILED TO RESTART AFTER BEING SHUT OFF. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE PCM, THE SPARK PLUGS, AND THE COILS HAD ALL MELTED AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 86,000.

THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE MANUFACTURER EXCEEDED A REASONABLE AMOUNT OF TIME FOR THE RECALL REPAIR. ADVANTAGE FORD (4000 SE FEDERAL HWY, STUART, FL 34997, (772) 287-0955) CONFIRMED THAT THE REMEDY WAS NOT AVAILABLE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE ISSUE. THE CONTACT HAD NOT EXPERIENCED A FAILURE. VIN TOOL CONFIRMS PARTS NOT AVAILABLE.

I WAS TOLD BY ONE MECHANIC THAT IT WAS MY TIRE ROD ENDS. ($400 LATER 3/1/16) MY CAR IS STILL MAKING THAT SOUND WHEN IT'S HOT OUTSIDE. MY AIR BAG ON THE PASSENGER SIDE DASH BOARD IS BUCKLING. MY PASSENGER DOOR MAKES A LOT OF NOISE.( LOUD VIBRATION SOUND)

I RECEIVED AN EMAIL ABOUT THE AIR BAG RECALL ON PASSENGER SIDE. MY CAR DASH BOARD ON THE PASSENGER SIDE IS COMING APART AS IF SOMETHING EXPLODED UNDER THE DASHBOARD. I AM NOT SURE WHY IT IS COMING UP BUT I WILL NEED IT CHECKED OUT TO MAKE SURE THIS IS NOT AN ISSUE WITH THE AIR BAG. IF THESE AIR BAGS ARE EXPLOSIVE I WANT THIS FIXED ON MY CAR ASAP. TAKATA RECALL- I HAVE BEEN INSTRUCTED TO NOT ALLOW ANYONE TO SIT IN THE FRONT PASSENGER SEAT OF MY CAR. I HAVE BEEN DENIED THE USE OF 1/4 OF MY VEHICLE. THIS RECALL BEGAN 2 YEARS AGO. NEWER CARS ARE BEING REPAIRED BUT NOT MINE. I INQUIRED ABOUT THE FREE RENTAL CAR. I WAS TOLD THEY WERE BOOKED UP FOR MONTHS. WHEN I ASKED ABOUT INSURANCE THEY INFORMED ME THEY WOULD USE MY INSURANCE. TAKATA RECALL I HAVE BEEN GETTING PROMISING LETTERS THHAT THE AIRBAG WILL BE REPLACED BY THIS AND THAT DATE.IT IS DANGEROUS AND INCONVIENT. FIND THE PART.
DRIVING ON INTERSTATE 75 MY CAR MADE A POPPING NOISE AND LOST POWER, WAS IN LIMP MODE, CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON, HAD CAR DIAGNOSED AND FOUND TO HAVE BUSTED IGNITION COILS AND BAD ECM, REPLACED THOSE, LESS THAN A WEEK LATER DRIVING TO WORK AGAIN AND WRENCH LIGHT CAME ON, IT COMES AND GOES BUT THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT IS ON. THE CAR LOSES ALL POWER UNTIL SHUT OFF, AM TOLD IT IS A THROTTLE BODY ISSUE. THE CAR HAS JUST OVER 73,000 MILES AND HAS BEEN VERY WELL TAKEN CARE OF. I AM AFRAID TO DRIVE ANY MORE DUE TO THE SUDDEN LOSS OF POWER ON HIGHWAY WITH NO WAY OF KNOWING WHEN IT IS GOING TO HAPPEN AGAIN.
IDLER PULLEY BOLTS FAILED CAUSING LOSS OF POWER STEERING AND ALTERNATOR. VEHICLE WAS STATIONARY AT THE TIME. IF THIS HAPPENED WHILE DRIVING ON A HIGHWAY, VEHICLE WOULD BE DIFFICULT TO STEER. THIS IS THE SECOND TIME THIS PART HAS FAILED IN 6 MONTHS.
