THE PASSENGER SIDE AIR BAG QUIT WORKING. THE AIR BAG WARNING LIGHT CAME ON AND WOULD NOT GO OFF. DO NOT KNOW IF AUTOMOBILE WAS MOVING OR STILL. HAD TO HAVE REPLACE THE INBOARD AND OUTBOARD SEAT ZERO WEIGHT SENSORS, RAIL ASSEMBLY AND REPLACE THE PASSENGER SEAT AIR BAG MODULE. IT WAS VERY EXPENSIVE FOR A PART OF THE CAR THAT SHOULD LAST MORE THAN 54000 MILES.

THE CONTACT RECEIVED NOTIFICATION OF NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 16V384000 (AIR BAGS) AND STATED THAT THE PART WAS NOT AVAILABLE WITHIN A REASONABLE TIME FRAME TO SCHEDULE THE RECALL REPAIR. THE DEALER (LEWIS AND CLARK FORD LINCOLN, 316 CAPITAL ST, YANKTON, SD 57078, (605) 664-2000) DID NOT GIVE A SPECIFIC DATE FOR WHEN THE PART WOULD BECOME AVAILABLE AND INFORMED THE CONTACT TO WAIT FOR A SECOND LETTER. THE MANUFACTURER WAS CONTACTED AND COULD NOT PROVIDE AN ESTIMATED DATE FOR WHEN THE CONTACTS VEHICLE WOULD RECEIVE THE RECALL REPAIR. THE CONTACT WAS NOT EXPERIENCING A FAILURE. VIN TOOL CONFIRMS PARTS NOT AVAILABLE.
"TAKATA RECALL"MY CAR WAS INVOLVED IN A FENDER BENDER WITH THE AIR BAG NOT DEPLOYING, PRIOR TO THAT THE CHECK AIRBAG LIGHT REMAINED ON. THE MARLOW AUTO BODY COLLISION CENTER LOCATED IN OXON HILL MARYLAND DID TRY TO LOOK AT IT AS TO WHY I DID NOT TURN OFF, THEY EVEN REPLACED THE FUSE, HOWEVER I RECEIVED A LETTER IN THE MAIL INFORMING ME THERE WAS A RECALL. I HAVE CONTACTED AND TRIED TO BRING THE VEHICLE INTO FORD LOCATED IN CAMP SPRINGS MARYLAND ON SEVERAL OCCASIONS AND THEY STATED THEY NEVER RECEIVED THE PART AND THEY WERE UNABLE TO ACCOMMODATE MY REPAIR. I HAVE SINCE WENT BACK TO MARLOW AUTO BODY THIS YEAR 2018 FOR HELP BUT THEY STATED I SHOULD CONTACT THE NHTS TO COMPLAIN.
DRIVER INSIDE DOOR HANDLE BROKE, DOOR CAN ONLY BE OPENED BY OUTSIDE OR BY RIGGING.
I TOOK MY 2007 FORD FUSION TO A DEALERSHIP IN REGARDS TO MY PASSENGER SIDE DASH HAD BEGUN TO BULGE IN THE BEGINNING OF THE YEAR. THEY STATED IT WAS O.K. AND I DID NOT NEED TO WORRY ABOUT THE AIRBAG DEPLOYING. I ASKED THEM HOW MUCH WOULD IT BE TO FIX IT AND THEY TOLD ME THAT IT COULD NOT BE FIXED; AND NO ONE RECOMMENDED HOW TO FIX IT. THE BULGE HAS GOTTEN WORSE AND IT LOOKS AS IF THE AIRBAG IS GOING TO DEPLOY. I TOOK IT BACK TO THE DEALERSHIP ON AUGUST 19, 2015 AND WAS TOLD THAT THEY DOES NOT FIX COSMETIC WORK OR TRIM.

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A DEALER WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED, AS THE PASSENGER OCCUPANT CONTROL WEIGHT MODULE THAT NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 134,353.
PCM FAILED ON A 2007 FORD FUSION SE V6 WHILE ON THE HIGHWAY. THIS RESULTED IN NEAR-IMMEDIATE ELECTRICAL FAILURE, STALLING THE CAR AFTER APP. 30 SECONDS. USER FORUMS ONLINE SEEM TO INDICATE THAT THIS IS A RECURRING PROBLEM WITH 2007 FUSIONS, POSSIBLY STEMMING FROM ECU FAILURE (ALTHOUGH OPINIONS ARE UNDECIDED ON WHETHER A FEEDBACK ISSUE CAUSES THE ECU TO FAIL, OR THE ECU FAILS AND CAUSES FEEDBACK). DAMAGE TO THE CAR INCLUDED FRYING ALL SIX SPARK PLUGS, AND SIGNIFICANT DAMAGE TO ALL SIX IGNITION COILS WHICH NECESSITATED REPLACEMENT, AS WELL AS NECESSITATING REPLACEMENT OF PCM UNIT. FORD ALSO DRAWS A DISTINCTION BETWEEN THE WARRANTY ON THE ECU (8 YEARS / 80,000 MILES) AND THE WARRANTY ON THE PCM (3 YEARS / 36,000 MILES) WHEN ASSESSING THE DAMAGE - SINCE THIS FAILURE COMMONLY RESULTS IN DAMAGE TO THE PCM, THEY ALMOST ALWAYS SEEM TO ELECT TO CONSIDER ONLY THE PCM WARRANTY. TOTAL COST TO DRIVER: APP. $2,000 PLUS LABOR.

WHILE DRIVING THE REAR RIGHT DOOR OF MY '07 FUSION BECAME AJAR. THE DOOR BECOMES AJAR WHILE TURNING LEFT AND RIGHT. ALSO THE REAR RIGHT DOOR DOES NOT CLOSE SECURELY AND HAS TO BE GENTLY PRESSED INTO THE FRAME OF THE CAR IN ORDER FOR THE LATCH TO BE SOMEWHAT SECURE.

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THREE INDEPENDENT MECHANICS, BUT THE FAILURE PERSISTED. THE VEHICLE WAS PREVIOUSLY TAKEN TO NORM REEVES FORD SUPERSTORE (LOCATED AT 18900 STUDEBAKER RD, CERRITOS, CA 90703) WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE BRAKES AND MASTER CYLINDER NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED, BUT THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURES. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 159,350. *TT
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 FORD FUSION. WHILE THE VEHICLE WAS APPROACHING A STOP ON AN UNEVEN ROAD, THE BRAKES WERE UNRESPONSIVE WHEN THE BRAKE PEDAL WAS DEPRESSED. THE CONTACT PULLED THE VEHICLE OFF THE ROAD AND DEPRESSED THE BRAKE PEDAL MULTIPLE TIMES BEFORE IT BECAME RESPONSIVE. THE FAILURE OCCURRED TWICE. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE BRAKE PADS AND ROTORS NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED, BUT THE FAILURE RECURRED. I BROUGHT MY FORD FUSION 2007 INTO TIRES PLUS TO HAVE A/C REPAIRED. I HAD THOUGHT IT WAS THE A/C SENSOR IN THE DASH, AS THEY ARE NOTORIOUS FOR FAILING IN THIS MAKE AND MODEL. I WAS RIGHT. DESPITE THIS, I WAS NOT LISTENED TO (I'M JUST A DUMB FEMALE, RIGHT?), AND THE MECHANICS REPLACED THE COMPRESSOR, CLUTCH, AND CONDENSER, ONLY TO FIND A/C DID NOT WORK. IN THE PROCESS, THEY ALSO MOVED THE MOTOR MOUNTS AND THE POWER PUMP AND DRAINED THE CAR OF ALL POWER STEERING FLUID. I WAS SENT ON MY WAY. I WAS LITERALLY UNABLE TO LEAVE THEIR LOT DUE TO NO POWER STEERING!! THE CAR ALSO VIBRATED SIGNIFICANTLY NOW AT STOP LIGHTS. I WAS CONCERNED THEY DAMAGED THE MOTOR MOUNTS AS WELL. THE STEERING HAS GROWN SIGNIFICANTLY STIFFER AND DIFFICULT TO TURN. FIRESTONE/TIRES PLUS AGREED TO REPAIR THE A/C SENSOR BUT ONLY IF I AGREED TO HAVE IT TOWED TO A FORD DEALERSHIP IN OCONOMOWOC. I WAS UP AGAINST THE WALL, AS I WAS CONCERNED ABOUT THE POWER STEERING ISSUE AND SAFETY. IT IS INCREDIBLY SCARY TO HAVE POWER STEERING FAIL WHEN YOU ARE DRIVING AT 60 MPH! THE FORD DEALERSHIP TREATED ME BADLY (NO SURPRISE) AND TOLD ME "THEY COULD FIND NOTHING WRONG WITH THE POWER STEERING." I BROUGHT IT TO ANOTHER FORD DEALERSHIP, UNDER THE DIRECTION OF FIRESTONE, AND NOW, I WAS TOLD THAT YES, I AM CORRECT, THE MOTOR MOUNTS NEEDED REPLACING. THEY DID A BRIEF INSPECTION OF POWER STEERING AS WELL AS A FLUSH, AND TOLD ME THERE WAS "NOTHING WRONG." WHEN I WENT TO PICK UP MY CAR FROM THE GORDIE BOUCHER DEALERSHIP IN JANESVILLE, (I WAS TREATED POORLY HERE AS WELL), THE MOTOR MOUNTS WERE REPLACED, FIXING THE VIBRATION ISSUE CAUSED BY FIRESTONE/TIRES PLUS, BUT THE POWER STEERING IS EVEN STIFFER AND JUST AS DIFFICULT TO TURN. PLEASE HELP. I AM BEING GIVEN THE RUN AROUND FROM FIRESTONE AS WELL AS FORD. NO ONE WANTS TO STEP UP TO THE PLATE. I AM CONCERNED ABOUT OUR SAFETY. I DON'T WANT MY CHILD INJURED.
LOSS OF POWER WHILE DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY. LUCKILY THERE WAS MINIMAL TRAFFIC AND I WAS ABLE TO GET TO THE EMERGENCY LANE WITHOUT BEING HIT OR RUN OVER BY A TRACTOR TRAILER.

WHILE DRIVING 25 MPH, THE STEERING WHEEL BECAME DIFFICULT TO TURN. THE VEHICLE STALLED AND WAS COASTED TO THE SIDE OF ROAD. THE CONTACT DISCOVERED THAT THE FUSE WAS BLOWN FROM THE ENGINE. THE VEHICLE COULD NOT BE RESTARTED. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE SPARK PLUGS AND IGNITION COIL PLUGS FAILED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURES. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 70,000. THE VIN WAS NOT AVAILABLE.
PASSENGER SIDE DASH AROUND AIR BAG IS BULDGING
TRAVELLING ON HIGHWAY AT STEADY CRUISING SPEED. ROAD WAS FLAT AND STRAIGHT. THROTTLE BODY FAILED SUDDENLY AND LEFT ME WITHOUT ANY ACCELERATION ABILITY. HAD TO PULL OFF TO SIDE OF A MAJOR HIGHWAY WITHOUT RESPONSIVE GAS PEDAL AND CAR DECELERATING QUICKLY.
THE FRONTAL PASSENGER TAKATA AIRBAG HAS NOT YET BURST, HOWEVER, THE COVER AND SIDES HAVE CURLED UP SOMEWHAT AND MAKES A RUPTURE OF THE INFLATOR APPEAR IMMINENT. I HAVE WAITED LITERALLY YEARS FOR A FREE REPLACEMENT BUT AM STILL SIDELINED WITH BEING TOLD THE PARTS ARE NOT READY YET. ARE YOU KIDDING ME? I NEED A REPLACEMENT BEFORE THE THING RUPTURES AND KILLS SOMEONE.
THE PASSENGER SIDE AIR BAG IS BULGING UP OUT OF THE DASH
KEY GETS LOCKED UP IN IGNITION NOT ALLOWING REMOVAL AND WILL RANDOMLY LOCK STEERING WHEEL
UPON EXITING MY VEHICLE, I OPENED THE INSIDE DOOR HANDLE AS USUAL WITH NO EXTRA FORCE WHEN I FELT A "SNAP" FROM WITHIN THE HANDLE. THE HANDLE STUCK OUT AND DOES NOT RETURN BACK TO THE NORMAL POSITION AFTER PULLING ON IT. I ROLLED DOWN MY WINDOW TO OPEN MY DOOR USING THE EXTERIOR HANDLE AND HAD TO RESET THE LOCK INSIDE THE DOOR JAM. WHEN EXITING MY VEHICLE, I NOW HAVE TO PULL THE HANDLE OUT HALFWAY AND THEN PULL THE LOCK ABOVE AND THE HANDLE AT THE SAME TIME TO DISENGAGE THE LOCK AND OPEN THE DOOR. BESIDES THIS, THE REST OF THE FUNCTIONALITY SEEMS TO WORK AS EXPECTED. NOT SURE WHY THE INSIDE OF THE HANDLE IS MADE OUT OF PLASTIC AND NOT METAL AS I'VE READ DOZENS OF FORUMS ON THE SAME ISSUE AND SHOULD BE ADDRESSED BY FORD.
ON MY 2007 FORD FUSION WHICH I HAVE OWNED SINCE 2015, WHETHER STATIONARY OR IN MOTION THE SUN VISORS WILL NOT STAY IN POSITION AND WILL DROOP, CAUSING ROAD VISIBILITY ISSUES, MAKING IT DIFFICULT TO SEE THE ROAD OR BLOCK THE SUN PROPERLY. IT HAS BEEN AN ISSUE SINCE THE CAR WAS PURCHASED.
THERE IS A BULGING ON MY PASSENGER SIDE AIRBAG, MY PASSENGER LIGHT AIRBAG COMES ON I HAVE APPROXIMATELY 93000 MILES ON MY FORD FUSION.
PASSENGER SIDE AIRBAG IS BULGING UP ON ONE SIDE. I PARK IN A GARAGE AND I'M IN WI SO WE DON'T GET EXTREME HEAT, SO I'M NOT SURE WHY I'M HAVING A ISSUE. IT'S EITHER AN AIRBAG ISSUE OR A DASHBOARD ISSUE. MY PASSENGER SIDE AIRBAG LIGHT APPEARS TO BE WORKING FINE...IT ONLY GOES ON WITH A PASSENGER OR WHEN MY PURSE GETS TOO HEAVY AND ITS ON THE SEAT. ALSO, MY ACCELERATOR PETAL MAKES A WEIRD STATIC-SOUNDING NOISE WHEN IT'S AT A CERTAIN POSITION. IT HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH SPEED, IT HAPPENS AT VARIOUS SPEEDS, SO IT'S ONLY WHEN THE PETAL IS HELD IN THE SAME SPOT WHICH IS ABOUT HALFWAY DOWN TO THE FLOOR. IF I PRESS THE PETAL DOWN BEYOND THIS SPOT OR RAISE MY FOOT SO THE PETAL IS ABOVE THAT SPOT, THE NOISE STOPS...ONLY TO RETURN AGAIN WHEN THE PETAL EVENTUALLY LANDS BACK IN THAT PROBLEMATIC SPOT (ABOUT HALFWAY DOWN).

I WENT TO OPEN MY DRIVER SIDE DOOR AND THE HANDLE SNAPPED BACK AT ME. I WENT TO OPEN THE DOOR AGAIN AND NOW THE HANDLE IS BROKEN. I HAVE TO OPEN MY WINDOW AND OPEN MY DOOR FROM THE OUTSIDE. ALSO, WITH THE DOOR BEING BROKEN MY CAR LOCKS HAVE A MIND OF THERE OWN. SOMETIMES THE LOCKS LOCK BY THEMSELVES AND SOMETIMES THE ALARM IS ACTIVATED BY ITSELF. MY MAIN CONCERN IS THAT IF I GET INTO AN ACCIDENT OR THERE IS A FIRE, MY FIRST INSTINCTS IS TO OPEN MY DOOR AND GET OUT OF THE CAR. I CAN'T DO THIS WITHOUT OPENING THE WINDOW AND PUTTING MY HAND OUTSIDE THE WINDOW AND OPENING THE DOOR FROM THE OUTSIDE. I JUST HOPE I AM NOT PANICKING TO MUCH THAT I REMEMBER HOW TO GET OUT OF THE CAR. I FEEL THIS A REAL SAFETY ISSUE. I USED GOOGLE TO SEE IF THERE WERE ANY RECALLS AND FOUND NOTHING, ALL I FOUND IS THAT QUITE A FEW PEOPLE WITH FORD FUSIONS ARE HAVING THE SAME PROBLEM. I AM NOT THE ONLY PERSON WITH THIS PROBLEM. I CONTACTED THE DEALERSHIP AND THEY WERE NO HELP THEN I CONTACTED THE FORD CORP. AND ALL THEY DID WAS TAKE MY INFO.
PASSENGER SIDE AIRBAG IS BULGING OUT OF DASH.
THIS HAD BEEN A REPEAT ISSUE I WOULD HIT A BUMP OR POTHOLE WHILE ALSO PRESSING THE BREAK. THERE WOULD BE A BRIEF SOUND OF THE ABS KICKING IN, FOLLOWED BY A SUDDEN AND ALARMING LOSS OF BRAKE PRESSURE. WHILE PRESSING THE BRAKES, THERE WOULD BE A MOMENT WHERE BACK PRESSURE WILL BE FELT, THEN WOULD PASS THAT THRESHOLD AND FULLY PRESSING THE BRAKE TO THE FLOOR WOULD BE NECESSARY TO STOP THE VEHICLE. THIS WOULD CONTINUE TO OCCUR FOR SOME TIME (USUALLY THE DURATION OF THE DRIVE) AND REPEATEDLY PUMPING THE BRAKES WHILE STOPPED MIGHT RETURN IT TO NORMAL FUNCTIONALITY ONLY FOR A LITTLE WHILE. DRIVING TO WORK ON DATE MENTIONED SOUNDED LIKE A SHOT GUN WENT OFF IN THE CAR, MY REAR WINDOW SHATTERED! I PAID $285.00 TO HAVE IT REPLACED! UPON REMOVAL OF SHATTERED GLASS THE REPAIRMAN NOTICED THAT MY REAR DEFROSTER ELECTRICAL CONNECTION HAD MELTED AND THEREFORE WAS THE CULPRIT! IT OVERHEATED AND SHATTERED THE REAR WINDOW! *TR
RIGHT REAR DOOR ELECTRIC DOOR ACTUATOR JAMMED AND DOOR COULD NOT BE OPEN. HAD TO REMOVE A THREE YEAR OLD CHILD FROM THE RIGHT DOOR SIDE, REMOVED INTER DOOR PANEL AND AL REAR SEAT COMPONENTS, STILL COULD NOT RELEASE DOOR LATCH WHICH WAS JAMMED IN THE LOCKED POSITION. TOOK VEHICLE TO LB SMITH FORD LEMOYNE, PA . THEY HAD IT FOR SIX DAYS. THEY HAD TO BREAK THE DOOR LOCK ACTUATOR APART, WHICH I HAVE THE OLD ACTUATOR AND CABLE ASSEMBLY. THEY HAD TO ORDER PARTS WHICH THEY DID NOT STOCK. THEY REPLACED DOOR LATCH/LOCK ACTUATOR ASSY. AND INNER DOOR HANDLE CABLE. TOTAL COST WAS $247.06 PARTS AND $232.50 LABOR. MY PROBLEM IS THAT THIS IS A SAFETY ISSUE SINCE WE TRANSPORT YOUNG CHILDREN. IN AN EMERGENCY HOW DOES SOME ONE GET THE DOORS OPEN. JAWS OF LIFE?NO SIGNS OF FAILURE BEFORE THIS. JUST FAILED PICKING UP THE CHILDREN AND NOT BEING ABLE TO OPEN THE RIGHT REAR DOOR.
I TOOK MY CAR INTO THE DEALER TO HAVE MY BRAKES CHECKED. I WAS TOLD I NEEDED NEW BRAKES AND ROTORS, AFTER REPLACING BRAKES AND REAR ROTORS DROVE THE CAR OUT , LESS THAN A QUARTER OF A MILE ON THE WAY HOME BRAKE PADDLE WENT DOWN TO THE FLOOR.RETURN TO THE DEALER WAS SUGGESTED I NEED A MASTER CYLINDER , THE MASTER CYLINDER WAS REPLACED WAS TOLD THAT WAS NOT THE PROBLEM. NO ONE KNEW EXACTLY WHAT IT WAS FOR TWO DAYS, I WAS CALLED AND INFORM IT WAS ABS VALVE MODULE. FORD DEALER HAD TO ORDER VALVE MODULE ONE WEEK LATER STILL WAITING. DON'T UNDERSTAND WHY THERE IS NO RECALL. (MANY COMPLAINTS) *TR
THE IDLER PULLEY BOLT HAS BROKEN ON MY CAR FOUR TIMES. THE BOLT KEEPS BREAKING CAUSING THE IDLER PULLEY TO BE SIDEWAYS AND MAKING THE BELT SQUEAK (THAT'S HOW I KNOW IT HAS HAPPENED). THE BELT HAS NEVER CAME OFF BECAUSE I ALWAYS STOPPED WHEN I HEARD IT AND HAD THE CAR TOWED TO THE DEALERSHIP. THE FIRST TIME IT HAD TO BE FIXED WAS 3/27/15 AT 134173 MILES. I HAVE SEEN MULTIPLE COMPLAINTS ON THE INTERNET FOR THIS SAME CONCERN. THIS COULD BE A SERIOUS ISSUE IF SOMEONE WAS DRIVING DOWN THE ROAD AND IT BROKE! I HAVE COMPLAINED TO FORD MOTOR COMPANY AND THEY SAY THERE IS NOTHING THEY CAN DO AND THERE IS NO PERMANENT FIX. THEY TOLD ME I COULD FILE A COMPLAINT WITH Y'ALL.
THE AIR BAG LIGHT CAME ON AND STAYED ON. I TOOK IT TO THE LOCAL FORD DEALERSHIP. THE SERVICE REP SAID THAT THE PASSENGER SEAT AIR BAG SENSOR WAS DEFECTIVE. HE SAID THAT THERE WERE NO RECALLS AND IT WOULD COST ME $868.00 TO FIX IT. I CAN'T AFFORD IT SO WE'RE DRIVING IT WITH THE LIGHT ON. I THINK FORD SHOULD REPLACE IT BECAUSE MANY PEOPLE HAVE THE SAME OR SIMILAR PROBLEM WITH THEIR FUSIONS AS WELL AS A HOST OF OTHER MAKES MAKES, MODELS, AND YEARS....UPDATED 09/22/15 *BF UPDATED 11/28/2017*CN

THE CONTACT MENTIONED THAT AN UNKNOWN PART WAS REPLACED ON THE FRONT PASSENGER SIDE DOOR LOCK. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 100,200. THE LEFT FRONT TURN SIGNAL STOPPED WORKING. IT WILL LIGHT UP WHEN THE PARKING LIGHTS ARE ON, BUT WILL NOT FLASH WITH THE TURN SIGNAL IS ACTIVATED.
THE INTERIOR PLASTIC DOOR HANDLE BOTH ON THE PASSENGER AND DRIVER SIDE, STOPS WORKING. UPON FURTHER INSPECTION, IT CLEAR THAT THE MOVING PARTS INSIDE THE DOOR HANDLE ARE MADE OF REALLY CHEAP PLASTIC AND BREAKS ON THE INSIDE. THE DOOR DOES NOT OPEN FROM THE INSIDE, HAVE TO PUT WINDOW DOWN AND OPEN FROM THE OUTSIDE. THIS IS A DANGEROUS HAZARD WHERE SOMEONE COULD GET HURT IF THEY ARE UNABLE TO GET OUT OF THE CAR QUICKLY. THIS SEEMS TO BE VERY VERY COMMON WITH FORD FUSION BASE ON INFORMATION PROVIDED MY THE MECHANIC AND A GOOGLE SEARCH. FORD NEEDS TO FIX THIS. THEY NEED TO ISSUE A RECALL.
TAKATA RECALL. A HEAD ON COLLISION AT APPROXIMATELY 55 MPH ON RURAL ROAD. FUSION MOVING OTHER CAR PARKED ON WRONG SIDE OF THE ROAD HIGH BEAMS LIGHTS ON IN A CURVE COULD NOT TELL WHERE THE CAR WAS. AIRBAG DEPLOYED, HUSBAND HIT FOREHEAD ON WINDSHIELD HARD ENOUGH FOR GLASSES TO BE JAMMED INTO THE DASH.

I WAS GOING ON A TRIP TO VISIT FAMILY AND MISSOURI FROM WI AND MY 2007 FORD FUSION LOST ALL POWER. THE WRENCH LIGHT CAME ON AND CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON. I HAD THE CODES READ AND STATED THAT IT WAS A THROTTLE BODY ISSUE. ANY TIME I USE THE CURSE CONTROL ON LONG TRIPS THIS HAPPENS.
THERE IS A CONSTANT SOURCE OF WATER THAT LINES MY PASSANGER SIDE CARPET FLOOR, ANYTHING THAT IS ON THE FLOOR SOAKS THE WATER UP AND GETS WET AND THE CARPET IS ALWAYS DAMP WITH LIQUID, I'M TOLD IT'S SOMETHING WITH THE AIR CONDITIONING BUT IT HAPPENS WHEN I USE THE HEAT AS WELL.

FOR THE PAST MONTH I HAVE BEEN EXPERIENCING LOSS OF ACCELERATION. MY CAR BASICALLY GOES INTO "LIMP MODE" WHEN THE PROBLEM ARISES. THE CAR LOSES ALL ACCELERATION AND CAN ONLY GO ABOUT 10MPH. THE FIRST TIME I NOTICED IT, I WAS DRIVING TO WORK AND THE CAR STARTED TO MAKE A "HICCUP" FEELING RESULTING IN TOTAL LOSS OF ACCELERATION POWER. ALMOST IMMEDIATELY THE WRENCH ICON LIGHTS UP. THE ONLY WAY TO START DRIVING AGAIN IS TO PULL OVER AND TURN THE CAR OFF. UPON RESTARTING THE CAR THE WRENCH ICON IS OFF AND SEEMS TO DRIVE FINE FOR A LITTLE WHILE. SINCE THEN, I HAVE EXPERIENCED THE PROBLEM AT LEAST 8 TIMES PER WEEK, AND THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT WILL COME ON AS WELL FOR A FEW DAYS THEN DISAPPEAR. I HAVE NOTICED THAT 2010-2013 FORD FUSIONS HAVE HAD A CUSTOMER SATISFACTION PROGRAM ASSIGNED BY FORD FOR THIS SAME PROBLEM, PROVIDING A 10 YEAR/150,000 MILE WARRANTY FOR THE ELECTRONIC THROTTLE BODY. THE SEATBELTS WOULD NOT RELEASE. THE CONSUMER'S GRANDCHILD HAD TO WRIGGLE OUT FROM UNDER THE SEAT BELT. THE SEATBELT HAD TO BE UNSCREWED FROM THE FLOOR TO RELEASE THE PRESSURE ON IT. THE INTERIOR DASHBOARD LIGHT, RADIO, CLOCK, MILEAGE, AND CD PLAYER WOULD NOT OPERATE. THE ENGINE LIGHT ILLUMINATED, THE DRIVER'S SEAT SEAMS BEGAN SEPARATING, THE BRAKES STICK, THE INTERIOR DOOR HANDLES BROKE OFF, THE REARVIEW FELL OFF WHILE DRIVING, AND THE TIRES HAD A CONSTANT LEAK. *JS

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO WILLOWBROOK FORD (7301 KINGERY HWY, WILLOWBROOK, IL 60527, (630) 986-5000) AND THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THE ABS HYDRAULIC CONTROL UNITS (HECU) DID NOT NEED TO BE REPLACED AT THAT TIME. THE CONTACT STATED SHE CONTINUED TO EXPERIENCE THE SAME BRAKE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN BACK HAWK FORD OF OAK LAWN AND FAILED THE INSPECTION. THE CONTACT WAS THEN INFORMED THAT THE ABS HYDRAULIC CONTROL UNIT (HECU) NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT YET REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS INFORMED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 88,000.
AS OF FEB 2017, I HAVE APPROXIMATELY 92,000 MILES ON MY CAR. IN WINTER OF 2014 AFTER GOING OVER A PATCH OF ICE AND THE ABS ENGAGING THE BRAKE PEDAL BECAME SPONGY AND WENT TO THE FLOOR. BRAKES STILL APPLIED BUT FELT LIKE MANUAL MODE. AFTER SEVERAL DAYS OF DIFFICULT BRAKING THE ISSUE RESOLVED ITSELF AND NORMAL BRAKING RESUMED. HOWEVER, EVERY TIME I BRAKED IN A GRAVEL AREA OR SUCH WITH LIMITED TRACTION AND THE ABS WOULD ENGAGE, IT WOULD CREATE A BRAKE ISSUE FOR SEVERAL DAYS. IN OCTOBER 2015, THE ISSUE BECAME PERMANENT, HOWEVER I FOUND I COULD CORRECT IT TEMPORARILY BY PULLING THE FUSE ASSOCIATED WITH THE ABS CONTROL MODULE WITH ENGINE OFF, STARTING THE CAR WITH IT OUT AND REINSERTING THE FUSE SEEMED TO RESET THE MODULE AND IT WORKED PROPERLY AGAIN FOR A DAY OR 2 AT BEST BEFORE REVERTING BACK TO THE SOFT PEDAL ISSUE. I ALSO NOTED, PULSING THE PEDAL AND THEN SLAMMING ON THE PEDAL, AS YOU WOULD DURING EMERGENCY BRAKING, WOULD CREATE A NORMAL PEDAL FEEL AT TIMES, BUT THAT IS NOT NEEDED DURING TYPICAL DRIVING AND WOULD IMMEDIATELY REVERT BACK TO POOR PEDAL FEEL. I'VE RECENTLY CALLED MY LOCAL FORD PARTS DEPARTMENT, AND WAS TOLD THAT THE PART FOR A 2007 FORD FUSION, PART # 7E5Z 2C215A, IS NO LONGER AVAILABLE, AND THERE IS NO GUARANTEE THAT THE PART FOR THE 2008 FUSION WOULD FIT OR WORK WITH A 2007 ECU. SO I'M LEFT WITH FINDING ONE IN A SCRAP YARD OR TAKING A CHANCE THAT A $1,235 2008 PART MAY WORK WITH MY VEHICLE. PLEASE HELP, AS IF IT WERE NOT THAT I AM A CAUTIOUS DRIVER WITH MY VEHICLE, ACCIDENTS MAY HAVE OCCURRED DUE TO THIS ISSUE.
