THIS WOULD HAVE BEEN DANGEROUS IF HE HAD BEEN ON THE INTERSTATE. NEED PART NUMBER 7U7Z12A650DLA. CAR IS CURRENTLY AT DEALERSHIP IN WAITING ON PART. IT HAS BEEN THERE OVER 2 WEEKS. TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 FORD FUSION. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 65 MPH THE VEHICLE SUDDENLY DECELERATED. THE CONTACT TURNED THE VEHICLE OFF AND WAS ABLE TO DRIVE WITHOUT THE FAILURE RECURRING. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC FOR DIAGNOSIS. THE MECHANIC STATED THE THROTTLE BODY ASSEMBLY WOULD HAD TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 65,627. *TR
DRIVING 60-70 MPH DOWN AN INTERSTATE AND CAR LOSES TOTAL ACCELERATION CONTROL. YOU CAN PUT THE GAS TO THE FLOOR AND NOTHING HAPPENS. RPM DOESN'T MOVE AND NO ACCELERATION. HAVE TO COAST OFF THE INTERSTATE. THOUGHT IT WAS THE GAS, PUT NEW GAS IN THE CAR. WENT TO TN ON FRIDAY HAD TO "COAST" OVER TO THE SHOULDER 3 TIMES. CAME HOME YESTERDAY HAD TO PULL OVER 6 TIMES FOR THE SAME PROBLEM. SCARY SCARY SCARY!!!!! WILL NOT DRIVE MY CAR AGAIN UNTIL THE PROBLEM IS FIXED. *TR
THE AIR BAG WARNING LIGHT IS ON. WHEN DIAGNOSED AT THE DEALER, THE SEAT WEIGHT SENSOR UNDER THE PASSENGER SEAT HAS STOPPED WORKING AND NEEDS TO BE REPLACED. *TR
MY HUSBAND WAS DRIVING AND THE GAS PEDAL STUCK HE WENT THRU 2 RED LIGHTS ALMOST HIT A CAR PULLED THE E BRAKES STEPPED ON THE BRAKE PEDAL PUT IT IN NEUTRAL HIT THE GAS PEDAL TO GET IT TO UNSTICK AND NOTHING BUT IT FINALLY STOPPED. WE JUST BOUGHT THE CAR 2 WEEKS AGO. WE HAVE 30 DAY WARRANTY AND EXTENDED. THE DEALER HAD IT TOWED TO A MECHANIC THEY HOOKED IT UP TO THERE DIAGNOSTIC MACHINE AND NOTHING CAME UP SO THEY TOOK IT TO FORD AND NOTHING CAME UP ON THERE MACHINE AND TEST DROVE IT AND NOTHING HAPPENED. NOW THEY WONT DO ANYTHING BECAUSE THIS "MACHINE" SAYS NOTHING THEY DIDN'T EVEN TAKE IT APART. SO I HAVE A DISABLED HUSBAND A 4 YEAR OLD AND 2 MONTH OLD THAT I HAVE TO DRIVE IN THIS CAR. IT IS UNSAFE. WHAT IF IT HAPPENS AGAIN AND WE REALLY GET HURT. I JUST WANT IT FIXED ITS A SAFETY ISSUE NOW. ITS LIKE NO ONE BELIEVES US. WE ARE NOT TRYING TO GET RID OF THE CAR BESIDES THIS WE LOVE THE CAR. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER FOR DIAGNOSIS WHERE IT WAS STATED THAT THE TRANSMISSION NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED AND THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED. THE VIN WAS NOT AVAILABLE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 53,000.
DURING AN OIL CHANGE, THE MECHANIC NOTICED THAT THE RIGHT FRONT TURN SIGNAL WAS NOT WORKING AND CHANGED THE BULB. WHEN THE NEW BULB DIDN'T WORK, HE CHECKED CLOSER AND DETERMINED THAT IT WAS FLASHING VERY DIMLY . THE DEALER INFORMED US THAT THE SMART JUNCTION BOX IS THE PROBLEM AND WILL COST $600 TO REPLACE. THERE WAS NO INDICATION TO THE DRIVER THAT A TURN SIGNAL WAS NOT WORKING AND IT WAS SIMPLY LUCK THAT THE ISSUE WAS SPOTTED BY AN ALERT MECHANIC. THIS IS DANGEROUS IF THE DRIVER THINKS HE IS SIGNALING A TURN OR LANE CHANGE WHEN NOTHING IS VISIBLE OUTSIDE THE VEHICLE. *TR
WHEN BACKING OUT OF A PARKING SPOT I DEPRESSED THE BRAKE PEDAL AND IT WENT STRAIGHT TO THE FLOOR. THE CAR DID NOT STOP. I PUT CAR IMMEDIATELY INTO PARK AND THEN PUMPED BRAKES. PRESSURE SEEMED TO RETURN TO THE BRAKES SO I PROCEEDED TO BACK OUT AGAIN, TESTING BRAKES CONSISTENTLY. BRAKES SEEMED TO RESPOND BUT SEEMED "SOFT" STILL. I DROVE CAR TO MECHANIC WITHOUT INCIDENT, THINKING THE PROBLEM WAS THE MASTER CYLINDER. MECHANIC INFORMED ME THAT THE PROBLEM WAS NOT THE MASTER CYLINDER BUT RATHER THE ABS HYDRAULIC CONTROL MODULE AND THAT HE HAD SEEN THIS SAME PROBLEM WITH FOUR OTHER FORD VEHICLES, TWO OF THEM FUSIONS. MECHANIC STATED THAT WHEN HE LOOKED UP THE SYMPTOMS I REPORTED TO HIM IN HIS "IDENTIFIX/OEM" DATABASE THAT THIS PROBLEM CAME UP ASSOCIATED WITH A TECHNICAL SERVICE BULLETIN FROM FORD, INCLUDING THE INSTRUCTIONS FOR HOW TO REPAIR THE PROBLEM. HE COULD NOT FIND A RECALL NOTICE FOR THIS PROBLEM, HOWEVER. THIS APPEARS TO BE A MANUFACTURER'S DEFECT AND I AM PERPLEXED AS TO WHY THERE IS NO RECALL. I WILL BE CONTACTING THE FORD MOTOR COMPANY TO INVESTIGATE FURTHER. MY MECHANIC REPAIRED THE PROBLEM WHICH COST JUST OVER $2000 AND DID INCLUDE HIM TAKING THE CAR TO A FORD DEALER TO RESET THE ABS AND ASSOCIATE THE REPAIR WITH MY VIN. TWO DAYS SINCE REPAIR AND I HAVE NOT HAD ANY BRAKE PROBLEMS. *TR
I HAVE BEEN DRIVING THE LESS IN THE THIRTY DAYS AFTER PURCHASING IT AND IT STARTED MAKING LOUD SQUEAKING NOISE, I TOLD THE DEALER ABOUT IT AND HE SAID IT WASN'T ANYTHING MAJOR IT DOES IT WHEN YOU FIRST START THE CAR. IT CONTINUE TO GET LOUDER SO I HAD A CERTIFIED PERSON TO CHECK OUT THE NOISE. WHEN I LET HIM LISTEN TO THE CAR, HE LOOKED UNDER THE HOOD AND NOTICED THAT THE IDLER PULLEY WAS LEANING TO THE SIDE AND THAT HE DIDN'T HOW KNOW I COULD DRIVE THE CAR WITH THE IDLER PULLEY LEANING. I CALLED THE DEALER RIGHT THEN AND EXPLAINED TO HIM WHAT WAS GOING ON. HE THEN TOLD ME THAT HE COULDN'T DO ANYTHING ABOUT IT BECAUSE IT HAS NO WARRANTY. HE SUGGESTED THAT I LET SOMEONE ELSE TO PUT IT ON. WHEN I DID WHAT HE TOLD ME THE PERSON WHO CHECKED OUT THE SAID THAT IT WAS BROKEN AND I NEEDED TO TAKE BACK TO THE DEALERSHIP. I HAD THE CAR TOWED BECAUSE I COULDN'T NO LONGER DRIVE IT. THE COMPANY TOLD ME THAT THE PERSON WHO CHECKED OUT MY CAR BROKE IT. I PULLED UP THE CAR FAX ON THE CAR AND FOUND OUT THAT THE IDLER PULLEY BROKE ON THE CAR A YEAR PRIOR BEFORE I PURCHASE IT. I WANT THE DEALERSHIP TO BE RESPONSIBLE FOR FIXING MY CAR. *TR

THE DASHBOARD ON TOP OF WHERE THE AIR BAG IS BOWING UP CAUSING A SPACE WHERE THERE SHOULDN'T BE. I'M SCARED THAT THE AIRBAG WILL DEPLOY ON IT'S OWN WITH NO REASON. *TR
ON JUNE 29, 2013 I WAS DRIVING ON ROUTE 13 TOWARDS HIGHWAY 71 IN OHIO NEAR BELLVILLE. I BEGAN TO ATTEMPT TO STOP AT THE SECOND STOP LIGHT BEFORE THE HIGHWAY PASSED OVER 13 AND MY BRAKES FAILED TO RESPOND. I HEARD ON THE NEWS ABOUT THE INVESTIGATION INTO THE BRAKE FAILURE FOR THESE TYPES OF VEHICLES AND WANTED TO HELP. I WAS SITED FOR THE ACCIDENT, BUT MY BRAKES WERE LESS THAN 6 MONTHS OLD. I NEVER HAD CONTACT WITH THE WOMAN I HIT BECAUSE MY CAR ROLLED THROUGH BOTH INTERSECTIONS, I HAD TO USE THE GRASS MEDIAN TO SLOW THE CAR BEFORE USING THE PARKING BRAKE TO STOP THE CAR COMPLETELY. THE CAR ROLLED ABOUT 1,600 FT BEFORE I COULD STOP IT. I CAN PROVIDE MORE INFORMATION WITH TIME AS I NOW LIVE IN TEXAS.
PURCHASED THE CAR IN 02/07, IN 12/08 CRANKSHAFT PULLEY FAILED, 2009 FUEL INJECTION PUMP FAILED, 02/2013 T-STAT AND CV JOINT FAILED. 06/26/13, TRANSMISSION FAILED. TORQUE CONVERTER, PUMP, AND SEAL ALL FAILED IN THE CAR 204 MILES AFTER WARRANTY EXPIRED. GEAR SLIPPAGE, AND COMPLETE TRANSMISSION FAILURE IS A MAJOR ISSUE ON THIS CAR, AND THERE ARE MANY COMPLAINTS REGARDING THIS ISSUE. MANY COMPLAINTS OF TRANSMISSION FAILURES, REPLACEMENTS, OR REBUILDS ON CARS WITH AS LITTLE AS 36000 AND UP. *TR
THE FRONT LEFT TURN SIGNAL IS NOT WORKING AND THE VEHICLE GIVES NO WARNING OF THIS FACT (LIKE WHEN THE BULB GOES OUT AND THE TURN SIGNAL BLINKS FASTER). THE BULB AND FUSE ARE FINE AND ACCORDING TO THE DEALER IT IS THE SMART JUNCTION BOX WHICH COSTS SIX HUNDRED DOLLARS TO REPLACE. MY RESEARCH ONLINE INDICATES THAT THIS IS A COMMON PROBLEM AND I FAIL TO SEE HOW FORD DOES NOT CONSIDER INOPERABLE TURN SIGNALS TO BE ANYTHING OTHER THAN A SAFETY ISSUE. EVERY TURN OR FOUR WAY STOP IS A SAFETY ISSUE AS OTHERS DRIVES HAVE NO IDEA WHICH DIRECTION WE WILL BE TRAVELING. *TR
THE IDLER PULLEY BOLT BROKE OFF AND PULLED THE BELT OFF (THE BELT DID NOT BREAK) MAKING ME LOSE POWER STEERING, AND OF COURSE THE BATTERY WOULD NOT HOLD A CHARGE. THIS HAPPENED JUNE 8, 2013, JUNE 23, 2013 AND AGAIN ON SEPTEMBER 11, 2013. FORD IS TELLING ME THAT THERE IS NO PROBLEM BUT THE DEALER THAT FIXED MY CAR THE 1ST TWO TIMES NOW HAS IT AGAIN AND HAS A CALL INTO FORD TO SEE WHAT THE PROBLEM COULD BE THAT IT HAS HAPPENED TO ME 3 TIMES IN THE PAST 2 1/2 MONTHS. ALL 3 TIMES I WAS DRIVING WHEN IT HAPPENED. THE SECOND 2 TIMES IT HAPPENED I HEARD A POP ALMOST LIKE I RAN SOMETHING OVER AND IMMEDIATELY LOST POWER STEERING. IT ALMOST HAS ME AFRAID TO PUT MY KIDS IN MY CAR. UNFORTUNATELY I ONLY HAVE ONE CAR AND CAN'T AFFORD A NEW ONE. *TR
CAME HOME FROM WORK , WENT BACK OUT TO CAR TO GO TO STORE NOTICED LEFT FRONT TURN SIGNAL BULB WAS ON STEADY. CHANGED BULBS STAYED ON STILL. HAD IT CHECKED OUT SAID IT WAS THE SMART JUNCTION BOX. I WAS DRIVING DOWN MY SIDE STREET (25MPH RESIDENTIAL ROAD) WHEN THE ENGINE BEGAN TO LAG. IT EVENTUALLY STALLED TO WHERE I PULLED TO THE SIDE OF THE STREET. VEHICLE TURNED OFF AND WOULD NOT START. IT WOULD TURNOVER BUT WOULD BEGAN TO IDLE ERRATICALLY AND WOULD SHUT OFF WITHIN 5-15 SECONDS. I TRIED A FEW TROUBLE SHOOTING TECHNIQUES BUT EVENTUALLY GAVE UP AND TOOK IT TO AN AUTO SHOP. THEY CONNECTED THE CODE READER AND FOUND 3 DIFFERENT FAULTS WITH THE THROTTLE BODY ASSEMBLY. I WAS TOLD THAT THESE ARE ON BACK ORDER UNTIL JUNE 18TH. *TR
LOST POWER WHILE TRYING TO PASS A CAR HAD NO THROTTLE AND ALMOST HAD A HEAD ON COLLISION GOT GOT HOME HAD A AIR INJECTION CODE P0491 IN THE SYSTEM. FOUND A BAD AIR INJECTION PUMP LOADED WITH WATER REPLACED THE AIR PUMP AND THE PROBLEM IS SOLVED I SEE FORD HAS A LOT OF ISSUES WITH WATER GETTING INTO THESE PUMPS BUT REFUSES TO DO ANYTHING ABOUT IT.CONTACTED FORD WITH NO RESPONSE. I WORKED IN FORD DEALERSHIPS FOR OVER 25 YEARS SO I KNOW HOW TO DIAGNOSE THESE PROBLEMS. I AM NOT CONCERNED ABOUT THE MONEY FOR FIXING THIS PROBLEM I JUST FEEL THE ISSUE SHOULD BE CORRECTED BEFORE SOMEONE GETS HURT OR KILLED. ON JUNE 1ST MY WIFE WAS ON I-20 WEST OF RUSTON, LA TRAVELING TO MONROE, LA. THE CAR SUDDENLY LOST POWER AND HAD NO RESPONSE ON THE ACCELERATOR. SHE COASTED TO AN EXIT AND PULLED OVER. THE ENGINE WRENCH LIGHT WAS ON. SHE TURNED THE CAR OFF AND CALLED ME TO COME HELP.WHEN I GOT THERE THE CAR STARTED AND I DROVE IT HOME WITHOUT INCIDENT. I HAVE SINCE TAKEN THE CAR IN TO JIM TAYLOR FORD AND WAS TOLD THE CODE INDICATED THE PROBLEM CAME FROM THE THROTTLE BODY AND IT MAY HAVE TO BE REPLACED. IT HAS NOT HAPPENED AGAIN BUT I WAS TOLD THAT OTHER FUSIONS HAVE HAD THE SAME PROBLEM AND SOME OF THE OWNERS HAVE ELECTED TO REPLACE THE THROTTLE FOR SAFETY. THIS COULD BE A MAJOR PROBLEM IN TRAFFIC IF AND WHEN IT A HAPPENS AGAIN. SOMETHING IS FAULTY AND FORD SHOULD FIX THIS PROBLEM. *TR
THE DASHBOARD ON THE PASSENGER SIDE AROUND THE AIRBAG IS BULGING. IT HAS GOTTEN WORSE AS TIME GOES ON. I AM WORRIED THAT IF I WAS EVER IN AN ACCIDENT, THE PASSENGER WOULD NOT BE PROTECTED.
THE AIR BAG ON THE PASSENGER SIDE IS BULGING CAUSING THE DASHBOARD COVER TO SEPARATE FROM THE DASH. *TR

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A DEALER WHERE IT WAS ADVISED THAT THE ENTIRE DASHBOARD NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 80,000 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 83,000. UPDATED 9/19/13 *CN
DOING APPROX. 55 MPH WHEN VEHICLE SUDDENLY DECELERATED. COASTED INTO A PARKING LOT. TURNED CAR OFF, WAITED AND RESTARTED IT. IT RAN FINE AFTER THAT BUT I TOOK IT TO THE FORD DEALER WHO SAID IT NEEDED A THROTTLE BODY REPLACEMENT AT A SIGNIFICANT COST TO ME. SINCE I WAS ON A HIGHWAY IN TRAFFIC AT THE TIME OF THIS INCIDENT IT COULD HAVE CAUSED AN ACCIDENT. THE DEALER TOLD ME THAT OTHER VEHICLES WERE EXPERIENCING THE SAME ISSUE WITH DECELERATION. I FEEL THAT FORD KNOWS ABOUT THIS PROBLEM AND SHOULD ISSUE A RECALL. *TR
I WAS ON THE THRUWAY WHEN THE CAR STARTED TO STALL A GREEN WRENCH LIGHT WENT ON. I PULLED OVER AND SHUT THE CAR OFF THEN I STARED THE CAR IT WAS FINE. THE CAR HAD 24,000 MILES ON IT. WHEN THE CAR HAD 33,110 ON IT I WAS ON THE THRUWAY IT SEEMED TO STALL AND LOSE POWER. I LIMPED HOME. I CALLED FORD THEY SAID I HAVE TO BRING IT IN BUT THE GREEN LIGHT MUST BE ON. TO TEST IT. THE CARS GREEN LIGHT CAME ON THE CAR STARTED TO STALL AND LOSE POWER SO I DROVE IT TO THE FORD DEALERSHIP. THE CAR LOST POWER IT WILL GO 21 MPH. IT HAS 33,226 MILES ON IT. THE DEALERSHIP SAID NO RECALL ON IT AND NO CUSTOMER SATISFACTION PROGRAM. SO I WAS TOLD TO DRIVE IT HOME YES DRIVE IT HOME AND COME BACK IN TWO DAYS.
IN 2010 THE PCM IN OUR 2007 FORD FUSION WENT OUT AND WAS REPLACED AT A COST OF APPROXIMATELY $1,300. THREE YEARS LATER WHILE MY WIFE AND DAUGHTER WAS DRIVING A VERY BUSY ROAD, THE LIGHTS ON THE DASH BOARD BEGIN TO LIGHT UP WHICH CAUSED HER TO PULL INTO A PARKING LOT. THANKFULLY SHE NOTICED THE BLINKING LIGHTS ON THE DASH OTHERWISE MY FAMILY COULD'VE BEEN HURT PRETTY BAD IN A CAR ACCIDENT. WE HAD THE VEHICLE TOWED TO THE DEALERSHIP TO FIND OUT DAYS LATER THAT ONCE AGAIN THE PCM HAD DIED AND NEED TO BE REPLACED AT A COST OF APPROXIMATELY $3,000. FORD STATES THE RECALL THAT WAS ISSUED IN 2007 WAS COMPLETED ON THE VEHICLE, HOWEVER AFTER READING THE NUMEROUS COMPLAINTS ONLINE, THERE NEEDS TO BE ANOTHER RECALL ISSUED BEFORE SEVERAL DEATHS OCCUR DUE TO THIS SERIOUS ISSUE. THE COST OF THE PAIR IS RIDICULOUS ALONG WITH THE AMOUNT OF TIME THAT'S REQUIRED TO WAIT ON THE PART, WHICH IS TWO WEEKS. I'M ASKING THAT NHTSA TO PLEASE RECALL FORD'S VEHICLES FOR THIS RECURRING ISSUE AND GOING FORWARD REQUIRE FORD MOTOR COMPANY TO AT MINIMUM CHECK THE COILS ON THEIR VEHICLES AROUND 75,000 MILES FOR POTENTIAL PCM ISSUES, IT COULD SAVE SEVERAL LIVES. *TR
PASSENGER SIDE AIR BAG COVER IS RAISED ABOUT A QUARTER INCH AROUND THE EDGE AIRBAG HAS NOT DEPLOYED BUT I AM VERY CONCERN. *TR
THE AIR BAG ON THE PASSENGER SIDE HAS BEEN BULGING FOR OVER A YEAR NOW. WHEN I FIRST NOTICED IT, I CHECKED TO SEE IF IT COULD BE FIXED. I WAS TOLD THAT I WOULD HAVE TO PAY OUT OF POCKET EXPENSES TO FIX IT AND IT WOULD PROBABLY COST ME WELL $1000 BUCKS. SOME HAVE BEEN QUOTED OVER $2000. MY CAR IS PAID FOR AND I AM NO LONGER COVERED UNDER WARRANTY. EVEN WITH A WARRANTY I WAS INFORMED THAT IT WOULD MOST LIKELY NOT BE COVERED UNDER A WARRANTY. TO ME, THIS ISSUE A SAFETY HAZARD. I AM FORCED TO LEAVE THE PASSENGER SIDE AIR BAG OFF BECAUSE I AM AFRAID IF I HIT A BAD BUMP IN THE ROAD, IT MIGHT EXPLODE AND CAUSE ME TO HAVE AN ACCIDENT OR EVEN INJURE MY PASSENGER. HAVING TO LEAVE IT OFF, IF I HAVE AN ACCIDENT IT MAY NOT DEPLOY IF I AM INVOLVED IN AN ACCIDENT. I RESEARCHED AND THERE ARE NUMEROUS COMPLAINTS REGARDING THE BULGING AIR BAG ON DIFFERENT MODELS OF THE FORD FUSION, I DO NOT FEEL IT IS FAIR THAT I/WE SHOULD HAVE TO PAY OUT OF POCKET TO FIX THIS PROBLEM BECAUSE IT IS A SAFETY HAZARD AND NOT A COSMETIC PROBLEM CAUSED BY THE CONSUMER. IS FORD GOING TO WAIT UNTIL SOMETHING TERRIBLE HAPPENS AND FACE A LAWSUIT BECAUSE THEY DO NOT WANT TO RECALL THESE VEHICLES AND FIX THE PROBLEM? WHILE VEHICLE WAS IN MOTION ON HIGHWAY, THERE WAS A SUDDEN ERROR LIGHT FLASH AND THEN VEHICLE SHUT DOWN. MOTORIST WAS ABLE TO PULL VEHICLE TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD. UPON MECHANIC'S INSPECTION, IT WAS FOUND THAT AN ENGINE COIL WAS BLOWING A FUSE, CAUSING THE VEHICLE TO SHUT DOWN. *TR

WITHOUT WARNING OR ANY KNOWN CAUSE, THE DRIVER SIDE DOOR LOCK MECHANISM IS JAMMED, THUS PREVENTING ME FROM EXITING THE VEHICLE. I HAVE TO TAKE DOWN THE ELECTRONIC WINDOW ON THAT DOOR, AND PULL THE HANDLE FROM THE OUTSIDE. AIRBAG LIGHT STAYS ON FOR THE DRIVER'S SIDE; SOMETIMES I CAN GET IT TO TURN OFF IF I RESTART THE CAR. NOT SURE WHAT WOULD HAPPEN WITH THE INDICATOR LIGHT ON; AFRAID THAT THE AIRBAG MAY DEPLOY. ELECTRICAL: TWO THINGS WITH THE ELECTRICAL. THE FIRST IS THE COMPASS ERROR. THIS ACTUALLY OCCURRED JANUARY 2012 (DON'T REMEMBER THE MILEAGE). I WAS PARKED IN A PARKING LOT AND TURNED MY VEHICLE ON TO HAVE IT WARM UP WHILE I WAS CLEANING THE SNOW OFF OF THE CAR. SINCE IT DIDN'T AFFECT HOW THE CAR HANDLED, I DIDN'T HAVE IT LOOKED AT. THE SECOND ISSUE OCCURRED 11/10/12 WHICH WAS THE DRIVER'S DOOR LOCK WOULD NOT DISENGAGE (MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 73,350). I WAS PARKED TO GET OUT TO GAS UP MY CAR AND PULLED ON THE DRIVER'S DOOR HANDLE TO UNLOCKED THE CAR, IT WOULDN'T OPEN. THEN I PUSHED THE "UNLOCK" BUTTON OF THE DOOR AND THE DRIVER'S DOOR STILL WOULD NOT OPEN. I ENDED UP CRAWLING OVER TO THE PASSENGER'S DOOR TO EXIT THE VEHICLE. I ATTEMPTED TO ENTER THE CAR USING THE DOOR KEY AND IT DID NOT DISENGAGE THE LOCK. I AM TAKING THE VEHICLE INTO THE FORD DEALER ON MONDAY 11/11/12 TO HAVE THESE PROBLEMS RESOLVED. I PARKED MY VEHICLE AND ATTEMPTED TO EXIT OUT OF THE DRIVER'S SIDE DOOR. I DISCOVERED THERE WAS NO TENSION ON THE DOOR HANDLE. I WAS UNABLE TO OPEN THE DOOR FROM THE INSIDE. IN ORDER TO EXIT THE VEHICLE, I MUST ROLL DOWN THE DRIVER'S SIDE WINDOW AND OPEN FROM THE OUTSIDE. *TR

THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS UNKNOWN. THE VIN NUMBER WAS UNAVAILABLE.
DRIVING ALONG A FOUR LANE HIGHWAY AT APPROXIMATELY 60MPH WHEN SUDDENLY THE VEHICLE STOPPED ACCELERATING, I HAD TO PUT IT IN NEUTRAL, LETTING IT COAST, TURN THE ENGINE OFF AND QUICKLY BACK ON. IT ALLOWED ME TO CONTINUE NORMALLY AFTER THAT. HOWEVER THIS PROBLEM HAS BEEN OCCURRING INTERMITTENTLY EVER SINCE. WHEN IT GETS REALLY BAD, IT WILL REPEAT THE PROBLEM ANYWHERE FROM 5-10 MINUTES AFTER I TURN IT AND BACK ON AND THE TRACTION CONTROL AND MAINTENANCE LIGHTS WILL COME ON. AFTER AWHILE THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT WILL COME AND STAY ON FOR A COUPLE OF DAYS. HAD A DIAGNOSTICS RUN ON IT WHILE THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT WAS ON AND IT INDICATED THAT THE THROTTLE CONTROL SYSTEM WAS MALFUNCTIONING. FORD WANTS OVER $600 FOR PARTS AND LABOR TO FIX THE PROBLEM WHICH I THINK IS RIDICULOUS CONSIDERING HOW MANY OTHERS ARE HAVING THE SAME PROBLEM. INTERIOR DOOR LATCH (DRIVER'S DOOR) FAILS TO OPEN. I CANNOT GET OUT OF MY CAR WITHOUT ROLLING DOWN THE WINDOW AND OPENING THE DOOR FROM THE OUTSIDE. ALSO DOOR WILL NOT LOCK WHEN CAR IS LOCKED. I WAS DRIVING WITH MY FIANCE WHEN WE HEARD A LOUD METAL SNAPPING SOUND WITH A FEW DINGING SOUNDS. APPARENTLY THE IDLER PULLEY SNAPPED OFF AND BOUNCED AROUND CAUSING ME TO LOSE MY POWER STEERING. IT WAS A GOOD THING I WASN'T DRIVING TO FAST OR IT WASN'T TWO DAYS LATER AS WE WERE SUPPOSED TO BE DRIVING TO FORT KNOX, BECAUSE IT WOULD HAVE BEEN WORSE WITH IT SNAPPING OFF LIKE THAT GOING 70MPH. HAD A FRIEND HELP ME GET IT HOME WHERE I FOUND THE IDLER PULLEY WITH THE BOLT SNAPPED 3/4 OF THE WAY DOWN AND THE SERPENTINE BELT WITH A FEW MARKS ON IT FROM WHERE THE BOLT RUBBED AGAINST THE BELT. I'VE DONE SOME RESEARCH AND FOUND OUT THAT HAS BEEN HAPPEN FOR AWHILE NOW WITH OTHER FORD FUSIONS. SOME SAID THAT THEY HAD THIS ISSUE FIXED AND IT HAPPEN AGAIN. SAME VEHICLE AS PREVIOUS COMPLAINT (WRONG YEAR SELECTED ON PREVIOUS COMPLAINT). THE VEHICLE IS A 2007 FORD FUSION SE V6 WITH SIX SPEED AUTOMATIC. WHILE ATTEMPTING TO MERGE, ANOTHER DRIVER WAS BLOCKING ME BY SPEEDING TO GET ALONGSIDE ME WHILE I WAS ON A MERGE LANE. THE OTHER DRIVER THEN MATCHED MY SPEED. I HIT THE BRAKES BECAUSE THE FUSION WILL NOT SLOW DOWN OTHERWISE. I THEN HIT FLOORED THE ACCELERATOR TO PREVENT ANOTHER VEHICLE FROM CLOSING THE GAP, AS HE WAS ATTEMPTING TO DO. THE CAR DID NOTHING FOR ABOUT 3 SECONDS EVEN THOUGH THE ACCELERATOR WAS ALL THE WAY TO THE FLOOR. THE RPM DID NOT CHANGE, THE SPEED DID NOT CHANGE AND I HAD TO HOLD THE ACCELERATOR TO THE FLOOR HOPING THAT THE VEHICLE WOULD RESPOND BEFORE THE NEXT CAR TRIED TO CUT ME OFF AND I RAN OUT OF MERGE LANE. DO NOT CALL, I WILL NOT GET ANY MESSAGES. *TR

I PURCHASED THIS CAR USED APPROXIMATELY A MONTH AGO. WHILE DRIVING AT LOWER SPEEDS, AROUND 30-40 MPH THE TRANSMISSION WILL NOT SHIFT OUT PROPERLY. GEARS GET STUCK AT 40 MPH AND CAR WILL NOT ACCELERATE IN TRAFFIC. THIS IS AN EXTREME SAFETY HAZARD AND LIABILITY. ENGINE LIGHT HAS NOT COME ON FOR THIS ISSUE EITHER.
