TL* TAKATA RECALL. THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 FORD FUSION. THE CONTACT RECEIVED NOTIFICATION OF NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 16V384000 (AIR BAGS); HOWEVER, THE PARTS WERE NOT AVAILABLE. THE DEALER DIHEL'S FORD SALES (11782 NATIONAL PIKE, GRANTSVILLE, MD 21536. 301-895-5135) WAS CONTACTED AND CONFIRMED THAT PARTS WERE NOT AVAILABLE FOR THE RECALL REMEDY. THE CONTACT HAD NOT EXPERIENCED A FAILURE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE ISSUE. PARTS DISTRIBUTION DISCONNECT.
WHILE DRIVING ON A HIGHWAY THE WRENCH LIGHT ILLUMINATED AND I EXPERIENCED AN UNEXPECTED, SUDDEN LOSS OF ENGINE POWER AND ACCELERATION. THE VEHICLE RAPIDLY DECREASED IN SPEED FROM HIGHWAY SPEEDS TO BARELY BEING ABLE TO MAINTAIN SPEEDS OF 20MPH. ENGINE POWER AND VEHICLE SPEED ARE SEVERELY AND RAPIDLY REDUCED WITHOUT WARNING WHILE FULL FUNCTION OF THE POWER STEERING, POWER BRAKING, LIGHTING, AND CLIMATE CONTROL SYSTEMS ARE NOT EFFECTED. NO SIGN OF THE ISSUE THE NEXT DAY, ONCE THE CAR IS TURNED OFF AND BACK ON. THIS SEEMS TO BE A WIDESPREAD AND DOCUMENTED PROBLEM WITH THE ELECTRONIC THROTTLE BODY INCLUDING AN INVESTIGATION AND TWO SEPARATE "CUSTOMER SATISFACTION PROGRAMS" TO REPAIR MODEL YEARS 2009-2013. APPARENTLY THE SAME THROTTLE BODY PART IS INTERCHANGEABLE FROM YEARS 206-2009 SO LIKELY IT COULD BE WIDESPREAD IN THESE MODEL YEARS. THIS IS INCREDIBLY DANGEROUS AND NEEDS TO BE A FULL RECALL.
I HAVE RECEIVED SEVERAL LETTERS FROM FORD REGARDING THE AIRBAG RECALL. WHENEVER I ASK MY DEALERSHIP ABOUT REPLACING THE AIRBAGS I AM TOLD THAT THEY ARE NOT AVAILABLE. I CALLED FORD MOTOR COMPANY AND GOT THE SAME RESPONSE. WHAT DO I DO?
UPON REMEDYING THE RECALL, TO ADJUST THE AFFECTED "PASSENGER SIDE" AIRBAG, WHEREAS THE FINALIZED MAINTENANCE RESULTED IN THE FUSION'S DIAGNOSTIC FAULT CODE, OF WHICH HAS DELAYED THE ABSOLUTION OF PASSING AN INSPECTION THIS SENSOR HASN'T "EVER" ILLUMINATED 'TIL AFTER THE REPAIR WAS COMPLETED IT REMAINS "ON" WHETHER A PASSENGER IS IN THE SEAT OR NOT

IT SHOULDNT HAVE HAD TO BE ON A LONG WAIT LIST. THE VEHICLE WAS IN MOTION, ON A HIGHWAY, BRAKING,SPEED WAS 40MPH DUE TO ROAD CONDITIONS WITH SNOW STATING TO FALL, MY DAUGHTER BRACKED TO TO AN ACCIDENT AT THE OTHER END OF A BRIDGE. WHEN BREAKING HER FUSION STARTED TO SLIDE INTO THE RIGHT WALL OF THE BRIDGE COLLIDING THE CONTINUING TO SPIN TO THE OPPISTITE SIDE HITTING THE OTHER WALL AND THEN SPINED INTILL IT STOPPED HORIZANTOL IN TRAFFIC CAUSING A F150 TO COLLIDE WITH HER CAR. THE AIRBAGS DIDNT DEPLOY IN THE FUSION AS THEY SHOULD HAVE. IN OCT 2018 FORD REPLACED RECALLED AIRBAGS BIT AFTER I GOT MY CAR BACK I HAVE A ERROR LIGHT ON DASH THAT GIVES A CODE B2290 WHICH IS STILL STATING THAT AIRBAGS ARE FAULTY.

THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE FAILURE WAS INTERMITTENT. A DEALER AND THE MANUFACTURER WERE NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. DRIVING DOWN A BUMPY GRAVEL ROAD (SOME CALL IT WASHBOARD), I WENT TO APPLY THE BRAKES AND IT WAS LIKE THE BRAKES WERE NOT THERE; THE BRAKE PEDAL WENT ALL THE WAY DOWN TO THE FLOOR. I PUMPED THE BRAKE PEDAL AND THAT HELPED. WE DID TAKE THE CAR TO A MECHANIC, BUT BY THAT TIME, THE BRAKES HAD COME BACK. HE COULD NOT FIGURE OUT WHAT WAS WRONG. ANOTHER TIME, COMING UP TO A LIGHT WHEN IT TURNED YELLOW, I BRAKED, THE ABS KICKED IN, AND INSTANTLY MY BRAKE PEDAL WENT TO THE FLOOR AGAIN. THIS WAS ON DRY PAVEMENT. I COULD NOT STOP. I MADE A RIGHT TURN JUST AS THE LIGHT TURNED RED. THE BRAKES REMAINED "SPONGY," BUT THEY CAME BACK SHORTLY AFTER THE INCIDENT. THIS LAST EXAMPLE HAS HAPPENED AT THE SAME INTERSECTION TWICE. THE LIGHT TURNS YELLOW, I BRAKE, THE ABS KICKS IN, MY BRAKE PEDAL GOES TO THE FLOOR. THIS LAST TIME, I DROVE BACK TO THE INTERSECTION AND NOTED THAT THERE IS A DROP OR CONSIDERABLE BUMP ALONG A PAVEMENT SEAM JUST AS YOU COME UP TO THE LIGHT. ENOUGH OF A DROP THAT YOU CAN FEEL IT IN YOUR CAR AS YOU DRIVE OVER IT. BOTH OF THESE TIMES AT THE STOP LIGHT I WAS UNABLE TO STOP BEFORE THE INTERSECTION. I HAD TO PROCEED THROUGH MAKING A RIGHT HAND TURN ON A RED LIGHT. I WAS NOT OVER-DRIVING OR SPEEDING, I WAS UNABLE TO STOP BECAUSE THE BRAKE PEDAL HAD GONE SOFT. THIS LAST TIME I TOOK THE CAR TO THE FORD DEALERSHIP IN TOWN AND THEY VERIFIED THAT THE HCU TESTED BAD AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED.
TAMARA RECALL AIRBAGS IN 2016 I GOT A LETTER THAT STATED THERE WAS A RECALL ON THE CAR TO HAVE THE AIRBAGS REPLACED SO I CALLED THE DEALERSHIP TO HAVE THE AIRBAGS CHECKED I WAS TOLD THEY DID NOT HAVE THE REPLACEMENT PARTS AND I WOULD GET A LETTER FROM FORD WHEN THE DEALERSHIP WOULD HAVE THE PART OR A CALL FROM THE DEALERSHIP IN 2017 I GOT ANOTHER LETTER ANOTHER LETTER FOR THE AIRBAGS ONCE AGAIN I WAS TOLD THE SAME THING THEN THIS YEAR I GOT A LETTER STATING NOT TO LET A PASSENGER RIDE IN THE FRONT SEAT AND I WAS OFFERED A RENTAL THAT FORD WOULD PAY UP TO $30 A DAY FOR RENTAL CAR WHILE I WAITED FOR PARTS TO COME IN IT ALSO STATED THAT SOMEONE FROM FORD WOULD CONTACT ME WHEN PARTS WOULD BE AVAILABLE HERE IT IS THE END OF THE YEAR AND STILL NOTHING HAS BEEN DONE RIGHT NOW MY CAR SETS IDLE DUE TO A BLOWN ENGINE

THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE MANUFACTURER EXCEEDED A REASONABLE AMOUNT OF TIME FOR THE RECALL REPAIR. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE ISSUE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE BRAKES WERE MAKING A LOUD HUMMING SOUND. THE DEALER DIAGNOSED THE VEHICLE AND STATED THAT THE ANTI-LOCK BRAKING SYSTEM WAS THE CAUSE OF THE FAILURE. I WAS DRIVING MY CAR IN THE CITY AND CAME TO A CURVED LANE. I STEPPED ON THE BRAKES TO SLOW DOWN SO THAT I COULD MAKE A SLIGHT TURN BUT DON'T REMEMBER THE CAR SLOWING DOWN. I THEN TRIED TO STIR THE WHEEL SO THAT I WOULD NOT CRASH. AT THIS POINT, I MIGHT HAVE OVER CORRECTED THE STIRRING WHEEL LEADING THE CAR TO SLID AS THE ROAD WAS WET. I ENDED UP HITTING A POLE.
ANY TIME THE ABS SYSTEM ENGAGES, BREAK PRESSURE IS LOST FOR EXTENDED PERIODS OF TIME, RESULTING IN LONGER STOPPING DISTANCES. USUALLY THE ONLY WAY TO GET BREAK PRESSURE BACK IS TO TURN THE CAR OFF, LET IT SIT, AND PUMP THE BREAKS HARD SEVERAL TIMES BEFORE PRESSURE IS REGAINED, SOMETIMES NOT FOR SEVERAL DAYS. I HAVE NOT YET BEEN IN AN ACCIDENT DUE TO THIS BUT FEEL IT IS ONLY A MATTER OF TIME. IT FIRST OCCURRED LAST YEAR AROUND THIS TIME WHEN MY CAR WAS AROUND 116000 MILES. IT HAS OCCURRED 2 MORE TIMES SINCE THEN INCLUDING TODAY. THE MASTER CYLINDER WAS REPLACED IN AUGUST 2018 WITH NO CHANGE IN THE PROBLEM. AFTER EXTENSIVE RESEARCH AND RULING OUT OTHER POSSIBILITIES, I BELIEVE THE PROBLEM IS DUE TO THE ABS CONTROL MODULE. I KNOW THERE IS RESEARCH INTO THIS ALREADY, SO I AM ADDING MY CAR TO THE LIST OF AFFECTED VEHICLES TO ENSURE SOMETHING IS DONE ABOUT THIS PROBLEM.
TAKATA AIRBAG.....DEALER NOT RESPONDING TO GETTING AIRBAG REPLACED. WE LIVE IN MESQUITE , NV.
BRAKE PEDAL GOES TO THE FLOOR, AND IS UNDRIVABLE DUE TO SAFETY ISSUES. THIS PROBLEM HAS BEEN GOING ON FOR MONTHS WITH THIS VEHICLE, WE HAVE SPENT SEVERAL THOUSAND DOLLARS, NUMEROUS PARTS FOR THE ABS BRAKES AND OIL LEAKS CONTINUALLY COMING FROM THE MASTER CYLINDER. PROBLEM NEVER FIXED, SEVERAL MECHANICS COULD NOT FIGURE OUT AFTER REPLACING EVERYTHING WITH THE BRAKE LINE AND STILL BRAKE GOES TO THE FLOOR. BRAKES BLED NUMEROUS TIMES AND NOTHING IS DIFFERENT, REPLACED SEVERAL PARTS AND NO IMPROVEMENT (HCU, BRAKE BOOSTER, MASTER CYLINDER, BOTH REAR BRAKE CALIPERS). PROBLEMS STILL PERSIST. VERY UPSET, THIS CAR IS MAKING US BROKE AND STILL NO RECALL!!?? SAME PROBLEM EVERY DAY WITH THE CAR, UNABLE TO SAFELY DRIVE IT, FOR SEVERAL MONTHS NOW, NOT JUST A SPECIFIC DATE, BUT MONTHS-LONG PROBLEMS WITH THIS CAR, WE HAVE A CHILD WITH AUTISM WHO NEEDS TO GET TO APPOINTMENTS AND UNABLE TO DRIVE HIM IN THIS UNSAFE CAR. ALSO AIRBAG IS A SAFETY HAZARD, WAS OFFICIALLY RECALLED, BUT NO FIX PROVIDED ITS BEEN OVER 2 YEARS SINCE WE WERE NOTIFIED. THESE ARE SERIOUS SAFETY RISKS.

THE ABS BRAKING SYSTEM ON THE CAR IS DEFECTIVE AND ESSENTIALLY HAS MADE THE CAR UNUSABLE. THE ABS MODULE IS APPARENTLY NO LONGER SOLD AND ONLY AVAILABLE FROM A SALVAGE YARD. I HAVE BROUGHT THIS VEHICLE TO THE FORD DEALERSHIP FOR REPAIR AND EVEN WITH TWO SEPARATE ABS MODULES REPLACED THE BRAKES STILL DO NOT WORK PROPERLY. THEY HAVE NO PROPER REPAIR AVAILABLE.
MY FATHER OWNS A 2007 FORD FUSION FOR ABOUT 5 YEARS. ABOUT A YEAR AGO, HE BEGAN EXPERIENCING SOFT BRAKE PEDAL ISSUES. THE BRAKE PEDAL DID NOT HAVE PRESSURE AND GO ALL THE WAY DOWN THE FLOOR. THE BRAKING DISTANCE IS ALSO POOR. THE CAR TRAVELS SIGNIFICANTLY FARTHER AND TAKES LONGER BEFORE IT COME TO A COMPLETE STOP. MY FATHER TOOK THE CAR TO A LOCAL LICENSED MECHANIC FOR A ROUTINE BRAKES SERVICE. THE BRAKE PADS AND BRAKE FLUID WERE REPLACED BUT THE SOFT BRAKE PEDAL AND POOR BRAKING STILL PERSISTED. THE MECHANIC DID RESEARCH ON THE VEHICLE AND FOUND THAT OUR ISSUE IS CONSISTENT TO A KNOWN ISSUE IN THE 2007 FORD FUSION ANTILOCK BRAKING SYSTEM (ABS) HYDRAULIC CONTROL UNIT (HCU) BRAKES SYSTEM. MY FATHER SAID THE BRAKE ISSUES OCCURRED AFTER THE ABS CAME ON AFTER BRAKING ON AN UN-EVEN SURFACE. IDLER PULLEY BOLT HAS BROKEN TWICE IN THE 2 YEARS I'VE HAD THIS VEHICLE. EACH OF THE BOLTS SNAPPED AND GOT STUCK IN THE ENGINE BLOCK. WHEN THE BOLT BREAKS IT RESULTS IN A LOSS OF POWER STEERING, THE ENGINE STARTS TO OVERHEAT, AND OTHER ISSUES OCCUR DUE TO THE SERPENTINE BELT COMING OFF TRACK. EACH TIME THIS HAS HAPPENED TO ME ON A VERY BUSY HIGHWAY AND ALMOST CAUSED A COLLISION.

TAKATA AIRBAG RECALL AND STEERING BOLT RECALL MY CAR HAS BEEN UNDER RECALL SINCE 2016, AND I WAS JUST OFFERED A RENTAL VEHICLE FROM A FORD ON JUNE 27TH, 2018 - 'UNTIL FURTHER NOTICE - RENEWING EVERY 30 DAYS' AT ONLY $30 PER DAY, WHICH IS HALF THE COST OF A DAILY RENTAL. FORD STATED MY CAR WAS UNSAFE TO DRIVE, AND YET I HAVE TO PAY OUT OF MY POCKET TO HAVE A SAFE VEHICLE UNTIL THEY FIGURE OUT PARTS? I CANNOT EVEN TRADE MY UNSAFE CAR IN DUE TO THE OUTSTANDING REPAIR SEVERELY DECREASING THE VALUE OF MY CAR. DEPRESSED BRAKE PEDAL AS I APPROACHED A PARKING SPOT AT A VERY SLOW SPEED; THE PEDAL WENT TO THE FLOOR; THE CAR DID NOT STOP. BACKED UP OFF OF A GRASSY AREA AND THE BRAKES WORKED FINE. THE BRAKES HAVE WORKED FINE SINCE THAN. CHECKING VARIOUS VEHICLE COMPLAINT SITES INDICATE THE TROUBLE IS VERY LIKELY THE ABS HYDRAULIC CONTROL MODULE. I BELIEVE THAT FORD IS AWARE OF THIS PROBLEM.
