TAKATA RECALL I RECEIVED RECALL NOTICE 17S01 (NHTSA RECALL 17V-024) IN MARCH OF 2017. IT'S NOW SEVEN MONTHS LATER AND FORD HAS STILL NOT NOTIFIED ME THAT THE REPLACEMENT PART IS AVAILABLE.
TAKATA RECALL - CARD IN MAIL, TELLING ME TO REGISTER / CHECK WEBSITE. WHEN VIN FOR FORD ENTERED AT PRIMECHECK AND NHTSA.GOV WEBSITES, RECALL NOTICE THERE. FOLLOWED STEPS CALLED DEALER AND WAS TOLD NO, FORD WOULD BE SENDING NOTICE FIRST, NOT TK HOLDINGS. O PARTS IN NORTHEAST, DOESN'T THINK YEAR OF CAR EFFECTED (2007), WARMER STATES GETTING PARTS FIRST, HE WILL CHECK FORD RECALL SITE. WHO DO I BELIEVE. MY VEHICLE INFORMATION STATES RECALL AND I HAVE BEEN NOTIFIED BY MAIL FROM TK HOLDING AKA TAKATA
FORD NOTIFIED VIA LETTER OF RECALL ON JULY 2016. AS OF THIS DATE, 26 OCTOBER 2017 I HAVE NOT RECEIVED THE REQUIRED REPAIR.
TAKATA RECALL. RECEIVED NOTICE FROM FORD OF RECALL MARCH 2017 STATING THAT DEALER WOULD CONTACT ME. CONTACTED DEALER TO UPDATE TODAY AND WAS TOLD THAT DEALER IS NOT ORDERING THE PARTS AND THAT IF YOU NEED REPLACEMENT YOU HAVE TO GO INTO DEALER AND ORDER THE PART. NOW 7 MONTHS SINCE NOTICE AND NOTHING IS DONE.
TAKATA RECALL I RECEIVED A NOTICE TO CONTACT MY LOCAL DEALERSHIP TO SCHEDULE A FREE REPAIR FOR A POTENTIALLY DEFECTIVE AIRBAG INFLATOR, BUT THE DEALERSHIP INDICATED THEY DO NOT HAVE ANY PARTS, SO I COULD NOT SCHEDULE A REPAIR.
I RECEIVED A NOTICE OF RECALL FOR THE AIR BAGS IN JUNE 2016 AT THAT TIME I WAS TOLD BY NORTH CENTRAL FORD IN RICHARDSON TEXAS THAT I WOULD RECEIVE A LETTER WHEN THEY HAD THE PARTS. OVER A YEAR LATER THEY STILL DO NOT HAVE THE PARTS. I CALLED TODAY AFTER RECEIVING A LETTER STATING I HAD TO HAVE THE REPAIRS MADE BY THE END OF THIS YEAR AND THAT TAKATA HAS FILED BANKRUPTCY. I WAS TOLD AGIN THE EXACT SAME THING THAT THEY DON'T HAVE THE PARTS AND I WILL RECEIVE A LETTER WHEN THEY DO.
TAKATA RECALL MY CAR HAS A POTENTIALLY DEFECTIVE AIRBAG INFLATOR INSTALLED (PSAN) AND COULD RUPTURE CAUSING INJURY AND OR DEATH. THERE IS NO REPLACEMENT PART AVAILABLE.
FROM TIME TO TIME MY ABS BRAKE PEDAL GOES TO THE FLOOR UNEXPECTEDLY AND CAR IS HARD TO STOP. THE PEDAL STAYS SOFT FOR A PERIOD OF TIME OR DAYS AND THEN RETURNS TO IT'S NORMAL POSITION. I'VE TAKEN IT TO MY MECHANIC BUT THEY CAN FIND NOTHING WRONG. SOME THINGS NOT RIGHT AND IT SOUNDS SIMILAR TO THE PROBLEM WITH THE 2007 FUSION HYBRID BRAKE PROBLEM THAT WAS RESOLVED WITH CSP-10B13, TSB-09-22-11
TAKATA RECALL, THE DEALERSHIP I PURCHASED THIS VEHICLE FROM USED SAID THEY COULD NOT GET THE PARTS TO FIX THE AIR BAGS AND JUST A COUPLE OF WEEKS AGO I RECEIVED A LETTER STATING THAT IT WOULD BE AS LATE A SPRING OR SUMMER OF 2018 BEFORE PARTS WILL BE AVAILABLE, ALSO I HAD TO SIGN A PAPER STATING THE DEALERSHIP WAS NOT RESPONSIBLE IF SOME WAS HURT BY THE AIR BAGS.
TAKATA RECALL. REPLACEMENT AIRBAGS NOT AVAILABLE AT FORD DEALERSHIPS. ETA UNKNOWN. MY AIRBAG LIGHT JUST CAME ON.
TAKATA RECALL- LOCAL FORD DEALERSHIP WILL NOT REPAIR. SAYS COMPANY IS BANKRUPT.
ON OCTOBER 20, 2017 MY ELDERLY MOTHER HAD TRAVELED ABOUT 150 MILES OUT OF TOWN. WHEN TRAVELING A TWO LANE ROAD A FUNERAL PROCESSION WAS COMING THE OPPOSITE DIRECTION. SHE HAD PULL THE CAR HALF WAY OFF THE ROAD WITH ONE SIDE OFF THE ROAD AND THE OTHER ON THE ROAD. WHEN EVERYONE STARTED TO GO AGAIN THE CAR IN FRONT OF HER CAME TO A SUDDEN STOP. WHEN MY MOTHER TRIED TO STOP SHE HAD NO BRAKES. SHE TRIED TO LEAVE THE ROAD TO AVOID HITTING THE CAR IN FRONT OF HER BUT SHE ENDED UP HITTING THE RIGHT CORNER OF THE CAR.. THANKFULLY MY BROTHER-IN-LAW WAS BEHIND HER. HE DROVE THE FORD FUSION 150 MILES USING THE EMERGENCY BRAKES FOR STOPPING HER CAR.IT WAS MOSTLY INTERSTATE MILES TO GET HER HOME. IF THE BRAKES HAD NOT FAILED UNTIL SHE WAS ON THE INTERSTATE THIS COULD HAVE BEEN A FATAL INCIDENT. HER 2007 FORD FUSION HAS 85,000 MILES. SHE LOVED THE CAR BECAUSE IT HANDLES AND RIDES SO WELL EVEN THOUGH THE DASH IS BUCKLING AND COMING APART. NOW SHE IS AFRAID OF IT. HER MECHANIC REPLACED THE MASTER CYLINDER WHICH DID NOT CORRECT THE PROBLEM. THE CAR WAS TAKEN TO ANOTHER MECHANIC WHO REPLACED THE ABS HYDRAULIC CONTROL UNIT WHICH CORRECTED THE ISSUE. THIS IS A RARE PART TO FAIL AND IT IS A REAL ISSUE.
I WAS INVOLVED IN A CAR ACCIDENT THAT SHOULD HAVE NEVER HAPPENED. I WAS DRIVING AND TRAFFIC IN FRONT OF ME STOPPED AND I ATTEMPTED TO STOP, HOWEVER WHEN I APPLIED PRESSURE AND THEN FELT MY PEDAL DROP AND GET SPONGY, I THEN HAD TO APPLY MUCH MORE PRESSURE BUT IT WASN'T ENOUGH. WHAT SHOULD HAVE BEEN ENOUGH STOPPING DISTANCE ALMOST DOUBLED. I ATTEMPTED TO AVOID A DIRECT REAR END COLLISION AND MANAGED TO VEER OFF TO THE RIGHT AND ONLY HIT THE OTHER CAR ON THE RIGHT REAR SIDE BUMPER. I HAVE NEVER BEEN IN ANY ACCIDENT REPORTS WHERE I HAVE REAR ENDED A PERSON AND IN THIS CASE I COULD FEEL THE BREAK PEDAL DROP UNDER ME. I FILED THE ACCIDENT REPORT WITH MY INSURANCE COMPANY. THIS IS THE STATEMENT THAT I GAVE TO THEM. "P1 WAS TRAVELING W/B IN THE NUMBER 3 LANE OF US HIGHWAY 50 WITH THE FLOW OF TRAFFIC AT ABOUT 40 MILES PER HOUR ON OCTOBER 20TH 2017 AT APPROXIMATELY 6:19PM. TRAFFIC WAS MODERATE AND WAS BEGINNING TO COME TO A SLOW DOWN. P1 NEEDED TO TAKE EXIT 6B TOWARD CA-99 SOUTH IN 1.9 MILES SO I USED MY RIGHT TURN SIGNAL TO INDICATE I WAS SWITCHING FROM LANE 3 TO LANE 2. AS P1 PROCEEDED TO MERGE INTO THE NUMBER 2 LANE TRAFFIC WAS SLOWING DOWN AND I WAS ENTERING THE LANE AT 25 MILES PER HOUR. STILL TRAVELING WEST BOUND IN THE NUMBER 2 LANE JUST NORTH OF THE 59TH STREET OVERPASS, P2 WHO IS NOW DIRECTLY IN FRONT OF P1 SLAMS HIS BREAKS AND BEGINS TO COME TO A COMPLETE STOP. P1 WAS DRIVING ABOUT 25 FEET BEHIND P2 AT 25 MPH AND ALSO APPLIED THE FULL FORCE TO THE BREAKS. WHEN I APPLIED THE BRAKES I FELT A SPONGY FEELING ON MY BRAKE PEDAL, AND IT DIDN'T BEHAVE THE SAME AND I HAD TO REAPPLY MUCH MORE FORCE AT WHICH TIME IT WAS TOO LATE. I COLLIDED WITH THE OTHER VEHICLE AT ABOUT 10 MPH "
I WAS DRIVING TO GROCERY STORE MADE RIGHT HAND TURN AND MY STEERING WHEEL CAME OFF HAD TO CALL MY MECHANIC TO PUT BAC ON LUCKY AIRBAG DIDN'T GO OFF I WOULD LIKE FORD TO REFUND MY MONEY OR BUY IT BAC ITS A DEATH TRAP WILL NOT DRIVE IT ANYMORE

THE DEALER STATED THAT ONCE THEY RECEIVE WORD FROM THE MANUFACTURER, THEY WOULD CONTACT THE OWNERS. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE VIN WAS UNKNOWN. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 160,000. VIN TOOL CONFIRMS PARTS NOT AVAILABLE.
LOW SPEED FENDER BENDER WITH NO EXTERIOR DAMAGE CAUSED AIR BAGS TO DEFLATE. BROKE PASSENGERS ARM, BROKE THE WINDSHIELD, INJURED DRIVERS ARM (MINOR), DAMAGE TO VEHICLE DUE TO AIRBAGS TOTALED THE VEHICLE. SOMEONE STOPPED ON A HIGHWAY AT SPEEDS OF 55 MILES AN HOUR AND DRIVER AS WELL AS DRIVER IN VEHICLE IN FRONT OF THEM SLAMMED ON BREAKS. THEY SLOWED DOWN SO SLOW THAT THERE WAS NO DAMAGE TO EITHER VEHICLE EXCEPT FOR ERUPTION OF AIRBAGS WHICH CAUSED SEVERE DAMAGE ALL AROUND.
I HAVE A 2007 FORD FUSION SEL V6. THE CAR HAD 87,000 MILES. IT WAS ON THE WAY TO WORK IN THE MORNING. THE CAR IN FRONT OF ME SLOWED DOWN SO I WAS SLOWING DOWN TOO. MY FOOT WAS ON THE BRAKE PADDLE ALL THE TIME AT THAT MOMENT. THE SPEED SLOWED DOWN FROM ABOUT 35 MPH TO ABOUT 20-25 MPH. THEN IT FELT SUDDENLY NOT WORKING. I TRIED TO PRESS THE BRAKE HARDER BUT DID NOT WORK. THE ABS DIDN'T WORK EITHER. THERE WAS NO BRAKING SOUND OR MARK ON THE ROAD. THE CAR WOULDN'T STOP. I REAR ENDED THE CAR IN FRONT OF ME. WATCHED THE AIRBAG DEPLOYED. AFTER THE CRASH, THE CAR KEPT MOVING FORWARD WHILE THE FRONT CAR PULLED FORWARD. I USED THE EMERGENCY BRAKE TO STOP THE CAR BEFORE MOVING THE SHAFT TO PARK POSITION AND TURNING THE CAR OFF.

AIRBAG RECALL - I HAVE CALLED MULTIPLE DEALERSHIPS AND NO ONE HAS THE PARTS AVAILABLE TO FIX MY AIRBAGS. I HAVE BEEN CALLING FOR 2 YEARS ABOUT THIS ISSUE.
AFTER ENGAGING ABS, BRAKES ARE VERY SOFT AND BRAKE PEDAL NEEDS TO BE PUSHED TO THE FLOOR TO STOP THE CAR. BRAKES WERE FINE BEFORE AND AFTER INDETERMINATE NUMBER OF BRAKING ATTEMPTS BRAKES EVENTUALLY RETURN TO NORMAL. USUALLY AFTER A FEW DAYS OF DRIVING. ONLY CONSISTENT CONDITION THAT TRIGGERS THE DEFECT IS ACTIVATION OF ABS. HAS HAPPENED IN WINTER ON ICE, SUMMER IN RAIN OR GRAVEL.
I HAD JUST BOUGHT MY 2007 FORD FUSION BARELY A MONTH AGO BASED ON THE FACT THAT THE VIN NUMBER WAS CLEAN, NO HISTORY OF ACCIDENTS AND ONE OWNER. I HAVE HAD NO IDEA THAT MY NOW NEW TO ME PRECIOUS VEHICLE THAT I LOVE LOTS AND SHELLED OUT 3,000 FOR WAS A PART OF THIS AIRBAG INFLATE RECALL UNTIL I GOT A NOTIFICATION IN THE MAIL YESTERDAY AND RAN MY PLATE THROUGH THE AIRBAG RECALL WEBSITE. I USE MY NOW LOVED VEHICLE FOR UBER AND I TAKE MY CHILDREN TO SCHOOL IN THE VEHICLE IN QUESTION DAILY. NOW IT MAKES ME QUESTION NOT ONLY MY PERSONAL SAFETY BUT THE SAFETY MY CHILDREN AND MY UBER PASSENGERS. LUCKY FOR ME I HAVE NOT GOTTEN INTO AN ACCIDENT WITH THIS VEHICLE YET. I HAVE BEEN IN AN ACCIDENT IN A VEHICLE THAT HAD ABSOLUTELY NO AIRBAGS AT ALL 10 YEARS AGO AND I AM LITERALLY FORTUNATE ENOUGH TO STILL BE ALIVE AND WELL. IN THE ACCIDENT I WAS IN JUST NOT THIS VEHICLE IN PARTICULAR, HIGHWAY PATROL IN NEVADA THOUGHT I WAS GOING TO DIE. NOW THIS VEHICLE I JUST BOUGHT I BOUGHT OCTOBER 4TH, 2017. ALSO I CAUGHT WHEN MY 12 YEAR OLD SON WHO HAPPENS TO BE THE SAME HEIGHT AND WEIGHT AS ME THE PASSENGER SIDE AIRBAG OFF LIGHT STAYS ON WHEN HE IS IN THE VEHICLE. I'M 5'3" 125 POUNDS. HE'S THE SAME. THAT SHOULD NOT BE.
THE BRAKES WENT SOFT WHILE APPROACHING A RED LIGHT AND I COULD NOT STOP. IT FELT LIKE THEY 'BLEW OUT' AND THEY MADE A LOW PITCH SCRATCHING NOISE. THE LIGHT THEN TURNED GREEN, PREVENTING AN ACCIDENT. I TOOK THE CAR INTO THE FORD DEALERSHIP AND THEY TOLD ME THE HYDRAULIC CONTROL UNIT NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THIS IS A DESIGN-FLAW ON FORD'S PART, AND NOT A ROUTINE MAINTENANCE ISSUE.
BRAKES - ON MANY OCCASIONS WHILE DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY AND CITY STREET I FIND I HAVE TO PRESS THE BRAKE ALL THE WAY TO THE FLOOR FOR THE CAR TO FULLY STOP AND I HAVE BEEN IN MANY CLOSE CALL FENDER BENDERS. ELECTRICAL - THE LEFT TURN SIGNAL STOPPED WORKING IN ROUTE TO WORK ,SO I ASSUMED THE BULB BLEW OUT. HOWEVER, WHEN DRIVING THE CAR AGAIN THE TURN SIGNAL STARTED WORKING AGAIN. FOR THE TWO WEEKS THE LEFT TURN SIGNAL WORKED INTERMITTENTLY WHICH MADE ME VERY NERVOUS WHEN MAKING LEFT TURNS. AS OF NOW THE LEFT TURN SIGNAL IS WORKING AGAIN WITH NO INTERMITTENCE AND I DON'T KNOW IF/WHEN THE TURN SIGNAL OR SOMETHING ELSE WILL STOP WORKING OUT OF THE BLUE OR WHY THIS HAPPENED IN THE FIRST PLACE. TRUNK LEAKAGE - THE TIRE WELL IN THE TRUNK AS WELL AS THE SPARE TIRE AREA WAS FULL OF WATER AND NOT SURE WHERE THE LEAKAGE IS COMING FROM. I HAVE HAD THE CAR 9 YEARS AND DON'T RECALL WATER IN THAT AREA. AT THIS POINT I DON'T PLACE ITEMS IN THE TRUNK FOR FEAR OF IT GETTING WET ON A HEAVY RAIN DAYS HERE IN FLORIDA. VENTS - I HAD TO REMOVE THE DEFROST VENT ABOVE THE DASHBOARD BECAUSE THE LINING THAT HOLDS IT IN PLACE IS BENT AND WARPED A/C - CONTINUES TO MALFUNCTION, I HAVE HAD THE AIR SERVICED MULTIPLE TIMES AND WHEN WORKING IT'S GREAT BUT THEN THE AIR BECOMES LESS COOL AND GOES COMPLETELY HOT. THIS IS TORTURE DURING THE SUMMER.

TAKATA RECALL NO ACCIDENT NO INJURY. REPORTING INEPTNESS OF FORD TO RECTIFY THIS SITUATION. DEALER TOLD ME THAT MY AIR BAG MAY NOT DEPLOY AND ALLOW NO ONE TO RIDE IN THE FRONT PASSENGER SEAT. ARE YOU KIDDING ??THEN GIVE ME A CAR OF EQUAL VALUE WITH A WORKING PASSENGER SIDE AIRBAG. I TAKE ELDERLY PEOPLE SHOPPING , ETC. DEALERS OR PRIVATE OWNERS SHOULD NOT BE ALLOWED TO SELL A CAR WITH A SERIOUS RECALL AND NO IMMEDIATE FIX. THE SITE DOES NOT ALLOW A PERSON TO EXPRESS A COMPLAINT ALTHOUGH IT SAYS BEFORE FILING OUT THE FORM AN ACCIDENT OR INJURY IS NOT NECESSARY TO COMPLETE THE FORM.
TAKATA RECALL BUT THERE IS A CONTINUES MEMORY CODE (B2290- FRONT PASSENGER SIDE) I CALLED A FORD DEALER ABOUT IT OVER A MONTH AGO, STILL WAITING FOR AN ANSWER AND IS A SAFETY ISSUE. THE CAR DOES NOT HAVE A PASSENGER AIRBAG.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 FORD FUSION. AFTER THE DRIVER BUCKLED THE SEAT BELT, THE SEAT BELT EXPLODED AND LOCKED THE DRIVER IN THE SEAT. THE AIR BAGS DID NOT DEPLOY. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THERE WAS A MOISTURE FAILURE AND THE SEAT BELT RESTRAINT ON THE DRIVER AND PASSENGER SIDES NEEDED TO BE REPAIRED. THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THE AIR BAG WARNING INDICATOR WAS SUPPOSED TO ILLUMINATE IN ORDER FOR THE FAILURE TO OCCUR. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED. THE DEALER WAS NOT CONTACTED ABOUT THE FAILURE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 100,000.

THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE MANUFACTURER EXCEEDED A REASONABLE AMOUNT OF TIME FOR THE RECALL REPAIR. THE CONTACT CALLED BROWN'S FORD OF AMSTERDAM INC AT (877) 801-2978 (LOCATED AT 4419 NY-30, AMSTERDAM, NY 12010) AND WAS INFORMED THAT THE PART WAS NOT AVAILABLE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED. THE CONTACT HAD NOT EXPERIENCED A FAILURE. VIN TOOL CONFIRMS PARTS NOT AVAILABLE. *TT CONSUMER STATED AIR BAG STILL IS NOT REPLACED. UPDATED 12/18/18*JB
TAKATA RECALL IT HAS BEEN 15 MONTHS SINCE I RECEIVED MY RECALL NOTICE AND I HAVE YET TO RECEIVE THE SECOND NOTICE THAT PARTS ARE AVAILABLE. THIS IS BEYOND UNACCEPTABLE. THE PASSENGER SIDE ON THE CONSOLE IS SWELLING AROUND THE EDGE OF THE AIRBAG AND THE I'M SCARED TO DEATH THAT THE AIRBAG IS GOING TO EXPLODE AT ANY MOMENT. I DON'T LET ANYONE SIT IN THE FRONT PASSENGER SEAT BECAUSE OF THE DANGER. I ALSO TRIED TO SELL THE CAR PRIVATELY WITH FULL DISCLOSURE OF THE RECALL AND THE FAULTY ABS MODULE THAT SILL HASN'T BEEN RECALLED. NO ONE WOULD BUY IT. FOUR DIFFERENT CAR DEALERS TOLD ME THEY WOULDN'T TAKE IT AS A TRADE IN BECAUSE OF THE AIRBAG AND OTHER KNOWN ISSUES WITH THIS MODEL YEAR FUSION. I'M STUCK WITH THIS DEATHTRAP UNTIL THE END APPARENTLY BECAUSE FORD DOESN'T CARE OR THEY'D BUY THE POS BACK. I'LL NEVER BUY A FORD AGAIN AND I'LL ADVISE OTHERS TO TAKE THEIR BUSINESS TO CHEVY/GMC. THE VIN WAS INCLUDED IN NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 16V384000 (AIR BAGS); HOWEVER, THE CONTACT NEVER RECEIVED A RECALL NOTIFICATION. THE LOCAL DEALER (DUVAL FORD, 1616 CASSAT AVE, JACKSONVILLE,FL, 32210) WAS MADE AWARE OF THE BULGE AROUND THE AIR BAG COMPARTMENT A YEAR AGO, BUT STATED THAT THERE WAS NO FAILURE AND TO LOOK OUT FOR RECALLS, IF THE ISSUE PERSISTED. IN SEPTEMBER OF 2017, THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE SAME DEALER FOR OTHER REPAIRS AND THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THE AIR BAG WARNING INDICATOR WAS ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT SERVICED OR REPAIRED FOR THE AIR BAG ISSUE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT CONTACTED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 80,000. VIN TOOL CONFIRMS PARTS NOT AVAILABLE.

NO A/C TO TO COMPRESSOR DUE TO ELECTRICAL PROBLEM. LIGHTS IN THE CAR ALWAYS DIM.
I HAVE BEEN DRIVING WITH A BAD THROTTLE BODY UNIT WHICH CAUSES THE CAR TO GO INTO "LIMP MODE", THIS IS HAPPENING 4-7 TIMES A DAY. I WAS TOLD ABOUT A RECALL FOR THIS VERY DANGEROUS AND UNTIMELY ISSUE. I WAS TOLD THAT THE NHTSA HAD LISTED A RECALL FOR THIS PROBLEM. HOWEVER, I AM NOT INCLUDED. MY CAR DOES THIS WITH NO WARNING! IT IS VERY DANGEROUS! I WAS JUST ON THE INTERSTATE WHEN THIS HAPPENED IN FRONT OF AN 18 WHEELER. VERY DANGEROUS INDEED!
TRANSMISSION WILL NOT SHIFT , WAS IN MOTION
SINCE PURCHASING THE VEHICLE FROM GRESHAM FORD ON 12/10/16, THERE HAVE BEEN THREE SEPARATE OCCASIONS WHEN THE VEHICLE LOST CONTROL WHILE BRAKING AND DID NOT STOP WHEN EXPECTED. I WAS VERY FORTUNATE TO AVOID COLLISIONS ON ALL THREE OCCASIONS. THE FIRST INCIDENT OCCURRED ON 7/28/17. THE ROADS WERE DRY. I WAS DRIVING ON THE INTERSTATE AT HIGHWAY SPEED WHEN I SAW STOPPED TRAFFIC AHEAD AND HAD TO STOP QUICKLY. I HAD PLENTY OF TIME TO SLOW DOWN AND STOP, HOWEVER, WHEN I APPLIED THE BRAKES, THE TIRES SQUEALED, VEHICLE SKIDDED AND ACTUALLY LEFT TIRE MARKS ON THE ROAD AND I WAS VERY CLOSE TO NOT BEING ABLE TO STOP IN TIME. I TOOK THE FORD IN TO GRESHAM FORD TO GET THE BRAKES CHECKED THE NEXT DAY AND WAS TOLD BY A SERVICE TECH. THAT THE BRAKES WERE FINE, BUT THAT I MIGHT WANT TO GET THE ABS CHECKED OUT. THE NEXT INCIDENT OCCURRED ON JANUARY 11, 2018, WHEN I WAS DRIVING ON THE INTERSTATE, TRAVELING AT 60 MPH IN THE RAIN. I TAPPED THE BRAKES LIGHTLY AS I ENTERED INTO SOME WATER THAT HAD POOLED (NOT DEEPLY) ON THE ROADS. MY CAR COMPLETELY LOST CONTROL AND STARTED HYDROPLANING. I COULD NOT PULL OUT OF THE HYDROPLANE FOR 20-30 SECONDS. MY CAR WAS PULLING TOWARDS THE EXTERIOR GUARDRAIL FOR SOME TIME AND THEN SUDDENLY IT WAS AS IF SOMEONE GRABBED MY STEERING WHEEL AND PULLED IT AS HARD AS THEY COULD TO THE LEFT. I STARTED TRAVELING DIAGONALLY ACROSS LANES OF TRAFFIC, BUT WAS ABLE TO RECOVER BECAUSE THE VEHICLE STOPPED HYDROPLANING AT THAT POINT. THE THIRD INCIDENT OCCURRED ON OCTOBER 26, 2018. I WAS GOING ABOUT 40-45. IT WAS RAINING, BUT NOT ENOUGH TO HYDROPLANE. THE STOPLIGHT TURNED YELLOW AND I KNEW I DIDN'T HAVE TIME TO MAKE IT THROUGH BEFORE IT TURNED RED. I HAD TO STOP QUICKLY, BUT WHEN I DID, INSTEAD OF STOPPING, MY VEHICLE BEGAN SKIDDING (NOT HYDROPLANING) AND SLIDING FORWARD. THE CAR WAS DIFFICULT TO CONTROL AND WAS PULLING ME TOWARD THE LEFT LANE.
I REPORTED AN ISSUE RELATING TO THE ABS IN MY 2007 FORD FUSION ON 11/24/18, BUT JUST REALIZED I HAD USED MY TILE NUMBER INSTEAD OF VIN. PERHAPS THAT'S WHY I HAVE NEVER RECEIVED A RESPONSE? I HAVE ATTACHED A COPY OF MY PREVIOUS COMPLAINT. I AM WONDERING IF MY VEHICLE IS OR WILL BE A PART OF THE RECALL FOR ABS VALVE BECAUSE I HAVE BEEN WAITING FOR YEARS FOR THIS ISSUE TO BE RESOLVED SO THAT I CAN GET THE VEHICLE REPAIRED AND GET RID OF IT.
