AFTER ANTI-LOCK BRAKES ENGAGED WHILE DRIVING, THE BRAKE PEDAL WENT ALL THE WAY TO THE FLOOR AND LOST MOST OF THE BRAKING ABILITY. THIS HAPPENED 3 TIMES. THE FIRST 2 TIMES IT HAPPENED, THE BRAKING PRESSURE RECOVERED WITHIN A DAY AND BRAKES WENT BACK TO NORMAL. THE 3RD TIME IT HAPPENED THE BRAKE PRESSURE NEVER RECOVERED COMPLETELY. I STILL HAVE BRAKING ABILITY, BUT REQUIRES A LONG BRAKE PEDAL TRAVEL TO ENGAGE BRAKES FULLY. IF I PUMP BRAKES, PEDAL PRESSURE SEEMS TO BUILD TO A NORMAL LEVEL, BUT WILL GO BACK TO A SOFT FEEL IMMEDIATELY AFTER I STOP PUMPING (AS IF THE BRAKE FLUID IS LEAKING PAST SOMETHING INTERNALLY). HAD DEALER LOOK AT IT AFTER 1ST INCIDENT, BUT COULDN'T DIAGNOSE ANY PROBLEMS WITH SYSTEM (BRAKES HAD GONE BACK TO NORMAL BY THEN). I AM CURRENTLY DRIVING WITH THE LONG PEDAL TRAVEL AND SOFT FEEL OF THE BRAKES, BUT HAVE LEARNED TO COMPENSATE FOR IT. *TR
I WAS DRIVING AT 40 MPH ON THE HIGHWAY IN RAIN, ABS KICKED IN BECAUSE THE CAR STARTED SLIDING, BRAKE PEDAL VIBRATED AND AFTER IT STOPPED THE BRAKE PEDAL FEELS LOOSE. I HAVE TO PUSH THE PEDAL ALMOST ALL THE WAY TO THE FLOOR FOR BRAKES TO ENGAGE. I'VE TRIED PUMPING MY BRAKES BUT IT'S BEEN A WEEK SINCE IT OCCURRED AND I'VE EXPERIENCED NO CHANGE. I TOOK IT TO A FORD DEALERSHIP AND WAS TOLD THE MASTER CYLINDER NEEDS TO BE REPLACED BUT THEY SEEMED SO CLUELESS I FEEL LIKE IT WAS JUST THEIR BEST GUESS. I'VE RESEARCHED THE PROBLEM AND I'VE FOUND OUT THAT HUNDREDS OF PEOPLE ARE WASTING MONEY ON THEIR CARS TRYING TO FIX THE SAME ISSUE I'M HAVING. I'VE RECENTLY RECEIVED THE AIRBAG RECALL NOTIFICATION ON MY CAR AND NOW A PROBLEM WITH MY BRAKES HAS OCCURRED. I DON'T FEEL SAFE IN MY CAR ANYMORE AND I HOPE FORD WILL TAKE NOTICE TO THE HUNDREDS OF COMPLAINTS ABOUT THE BRAKE SYSTEM.
TAKATA RECALL. THE PASSENGER SIDE AIRBAG COVER IS HALF LIFTED UP AND IS EXTREMELY DANGEROUS. COULD INFLATE AT ANY TIME. NO REMEDY YET AND I'M EXTREMELY CONCERNED THIS WILL INFLATE WHILE WE ARE DRIVING IN THE CAR.

THE BRAKING DISTANCE WAS EXTENDED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHO REPLACED THE ABS MODULE, BUT THE FAILURE CONTINUED. THE CAUSE OF THE FAILURE WAS NOT DETERMINED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 85,000.
TAKATA INFLATORS: I AM HAVING A VERY HARD TIME BREAKING WHEN I NEED TO BREAK. OVER THE PAST WINTER, I'VE SLID THROUGH SEVERAL RED LIGHTS AND HAD TO BLOW ON MY HORN TO ALERT ON COMING TRAFFIC TO STOP. I'VE BEEN TOLD BY THE SHOPS THAT I SHOULD NOT EVEN BE DRIVING MY CAR. THIS IS VERY DANGEROUS AND OVERWHELMING. IVE CAME OUT OF A LOT OF MONEY ON BREAKS, PADS, MASTER CYLINDER REPAIRS,ETC. AND WOULD JUST LIKE TO BE ABLE TO DRIVE NORMALLY. I HAVE TO PRESS ALL THE WAY DOWN TO STOP MY CAR AT ALL TIMES. MY BREAKS NEVER FEEL NORMAL. THIS HAS BEEN GOING ON FOR A LITTLE OVER A YEAR NOW
AFTER HITTING A BUMPY ROAD MY BRAKES WENT TO THE FLOOR AND STOPPING POWER JUST WENT AWAY. CHECKED AT SHOP. ALL PADS REPLACED. FLUID CHANGED COMPLETELY TWICE. MASTER CYL AND HOSES NOT LEAKING, NOW I HAVE REALLY WEAK BRAKING SYSTEM FROM THE FEDERALLY MANDATED SYSTEM 49 CFR 571.135 - STANDARD NO. 135 THAT IS INSTALLED IN MY CAR AND CANT GET IT REPAIRED. DO I JUST THROW A CAR I BOUGHT BRAND NEW AWAY? MILEAGE 88000 STARTED NOW AT 92000. NEW TIRES AND TALKED TO FORD HOUSE BUT NO ONE WILL COMMIT TO ANY ANSWERS. HAVE A STUDENT TRYING TO DRIVE THIS CAR IN COLLEGE AND AROUND TOWN. ROADS ARE ROUGH FROM DROUGHT AND CONSTANTLY TRYING TO PUMP BRAKES BUT IT MAKES NO DIFFERENCE WHILE DRIVING. IF JUST STARTING OFF FOR THE DAY A LOT OF TIMES YOU HAVE GOOD BRAKES UNTIL SOMETHING HAPPENS AND THEY JUST GO AWAY. HARD TO WATCH ROAD,SPEED PEOPLE AND PUMP BRAKES ALL THE TIME. LETS GO . STEP UP AND DO YOUR JOB........... NO INJURIES YET CLOSE CALLS AT TRAFFIC LIGHTS.
I PURCHASED THE 2009 FORD FUSION FOR MY 16 YEAR OLD DAUGHTER'S FIRST CAR. IT ONLY HAS 68K MILES ON IT SO I WAS CONFIDENCE THAT IT WOULD BE A RELIABLE CAR. AFTER DIVING IT FOR ABOUT A MONTH THE CAR STARTED STALLING AND IT WAS NEVER CONSISTENT. ABOUT ONCE A WEEK THE CAR WOULD STALL SOMETIMES WHEN PULLING AWAY FROM A STOP SIGN OR JUST DRIVING AT NORMAL SPEEDS. THEN ALSO SOMETIMES IT WOULD SURGE. SHE SAID THE SCARY PART WAS WHEN IT STALLS YOU CAN'T STEER OR BRAKE THE CAR BECAUSE OF NO POWER. AFTER TAKING IT TO THE REPAIR SHOP SEVERAL TIMES THEY COULDN'T FIGURE OUT WHAT WAS WRONG WITH IT. THE DEALERSHIP SAID IT WAS PROBABLY THE THROTTLE BODY BUT COULD NOT SAY FOR SURE AND THERE WAS NO RECALL ON THAT PART. THIS IS UNBELIEVABLE THE CAR IS NOT SAFE TO DRIVE AND THERE IS NO RECALL! ALSO, THE FLOOR MATS WHERE CONSTANTLY GETTING STUCK ON THE GAS PEDAL AND THE CAR ENGINE WOULD RACE UP AND MAKE IT ALMOST IMPOSSIBLE TO STOP THE CAR. SO, THE NICE FUSION MATS ARE NOW IN THE GARBAGE AFTER ALMOST KILLING MY DAUGHTER. I WOULD LIKE TO SEE FORD TAKE RESPONSIBILITY FOR THESE DEFECTS AND FIX THEM!

TAKATA RECALL: WE RECEIVED A NOTICE ON JULY 23, 2016 THAT OUR PASSENGER FRONTAL AIRBAG INFLATOR MAY RUPTURE AND SEND METAL FRAGMENTS STRIKING VEHICLE OCCUPANTS CAUSING SERIOUS INJURY OR DEATH. WE'VE CALLED OUR LOCAL FORD EVERY FEW MONTHS SINCE THEN TO SEE IF THEY HAVE A REPLACEMENT AIR BAG. WE JUST CALLED AGAIN THIS MORNING AND WERE TOLD THAT THE REPLACEMENT WAS STILL NOT AVAILABLE AND "PARTS TO BE DETERMINED". WE'VE BEEN DRIVING AN UNSAFE CAR FOR 16 MONTHS WITH NO REPLACEMENT IN SIGHT. CAN YOU DO ANYTHING TO SPEED THIS UP?

TAKATA RECALL I AM UPSET THAT FORD TELLS ME THAT MY VEHICLE IS INVOLVED IN A RECALL AND SHOULDN'T BE OPERATED WITH ANYONE IN THE FRONT PASSENGER SEAT. DURING SUMMER 2016, SLAMMED ON BRAKES AND SWERVED LEFT THUS ACTIVATING THE ABS AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS TO AVOID AN ACCIDENT WITH ANOTHER VEHICLE THAT WAS CHANGING LANES WITHOUT LOOKING, AT WHICH TIME, MY BRAKE PEDAL WENT TO THE FLOOR AND BRAKES LOST STOPPING POWER. CAR CONTINUED TO HAVE DIMINISHED BRAKING WITH PEDAL TRAVELING TO FLOOR AND TAKING A LOT OF EXTRA DISTANCE TO STOP. THE NEXT DAY IT APPEARED TO SOMEWHAT CORRECT ITSELF BUT PEDAL STILL HAD EXTENDED TRAVEL AND SPONGY PEDAL. TOOK TO MECHANIC WHO COULD NOT DIAGNOSE BUT THOUGHT IT MIGHT BE THE ABS OR MASTER CYLINDER. CONTINUED TO DRIVE WITH SPONGY PEDAL. FOUR MONTHS LATER, ABS ACTIVATED AFTER SLIDING ON ICY ROAD, PEDAL AGAIN WENT TO FLOOR WITH LITTLE STOPPING POWER. THE CAR WOULD NOT STOP WITHIN NORMAL DISTANCE EVEN ON CLEAR SURFACE. CAREFULLY DROVE IT HOME AND SCHEDULED DEALER APPOINTMENT. TOOK CAR TO TWO DIFFERENT FORD DEALERS BECAUSE FIRST ESTIMATE WAS SO EXPENSIVE, BUT BOTH DIAGNOSED PROBLEM AS ABS HYDRAULIC CONTROL UNIT. REPLACED HCU AND BRAKES ARE BACK TO NORMAL FEEL. REPAIR PAPERWORK AVAILABLE UPON REQUEST.
STARTING IN 2016 I HAVE CALLED FORD MONTANA DEALERSHIP, CALLED CORPORATE OFFICE, AND FILED COMPLAINT. NO FIX AT DEALERSHIP, NO HELP FROM CORPORATE. NOW 2018, WHEN WILL THIS BE FIXED?

I HAVE BEEN CALLING ALL THREE FORD DEALERS IN THE FORT WORTH TEXAS AREA FOR THE PAST FOUR MONTHS ABOUT THESE AIRBAGS. I GET THE SAME ANSWER OVER AND OVER "WE DON'T HAVE THE PARTS". MEANWHILE WE ARE FORCED TO DRIVE AROUND IN THIS EXTREMELY DANGEROUS VEHICLE. WHY CAN'T THEY PUT AIRBAGS FROM THE NEW CARS INTO OUR DEFECTIVE CARS?

HOWEVER, WHEN READING SOME NHTSA'S DOCUMENTS I NOTED THAT SOME VEHICLES THAT ARE IN A HAH ZONE SHOULD HAVE A HIGHER PRIORITY. MY VEHICLE HAS ALWAYS BEEN REGISTERED IN FLORIDA (HOT AND HUMID) AND IS LISTED AS A PRIORITY 5. THE ONLY INFORMATION I HAVE RECEIVED IS THE JULY 2016 SAFETY RECALL NOTICE. WHAT IS THE CURRENT STATUS OF THE TAKATA PARTS AVAILABILITY?
PART HAS BEEN ON RECALL SINCE 2016 WHEN I RECEIVED THE RECALL NOTICE. I'VE BEEN CALLING AND HAVE BEEN TOLD PART IS ON BACK ORDER FROM ANOTHER COUNTRY. REALLY......THIS IS RIDICULOUS. MAYBE IF THE PARTS WERE MADE IN THE UNITED STATES THEY WOULD BE AVAILABLE. SAD AND DISGUSTED.
"TAKATA RECALL" SO FAR THE PASSENGERS SIDE AIRBAG HAS NOT DEPLOYED, HOWEVER FORD SENT OUT A NOTICE IN JULY OF 2016, AND STILL DOES NOT HAVE A TIME LINE ON WHEN FREE AIRBAG REPLACEMENTS WILL BE MADE. FORD HAS BEEN TRAVELING AT A SNAILS PACE AT GETTING THIS PROBLEM RECTIFIED. MEAN WHILE ITS A LOAD GUN SITTING ON THE DASH BOARD WITH THE HAMMER COCKED READY TO FIRE AT IMPACT.

TAKATA RECALL. FORD NOTIFIED ME BY MAIL IN JULY OF 2016. I CONTACTED MY LOCAL DEALER IMMEDIATELY AND THEY STATED THAT THEY WERE WAITING FOR THE PARTS. CONTACTED THEM TODAY (11/03/2017) AND THEY ARE STILL WAITING FOR THE PARTS AND DID NOT SEEM AWARE OF WHEN THEY WOULD BE GETTING THEM. THEY ALSO COULD NOT INFORM ME IF FORD MOTOR COMPANY WAS ACTIVELY SEEKING PARTS ELSEWHERE AS TAKATA IS APPARENTLY ATTEMPTING TO DECLARE BANKRUPTCY.

I RECEIVED A RECALL NOTICE ABOUT THE TAKATA PASSENGER AIRBAG IN MY FORD VEHICLE MORE THAN 1 YEAR AGO. I HAVE CONTACTED THE LOCAL FORD DEALER REPEATEDLY AND HAVE CHECKED THE FORD WEB SITE ONLINE, AND THEY BOTH SAY THAT PARTS ARE NOT AVAILABLE TO REPAIR MY VEHICLE. AFTER ENTERING MY VEHICLE INFORMATION AT HTTPS://WWW.AIRBAGRECALL.COM, I WAS ALSO ADVISED THAT THE RECALL IS INCOMPLETE AND "REMEDY NOT YET AVAILABLE". TAKATA RECALL--FORD MOTOR COMPANY HAS SUGGESTED THAT NO ONE SHOULD SIT IN THE RIGHT FRONT PASSENGERS SEAT BECAUSE THE AIR BAG WILL NOT DEPLOY IF THERE IS A COLLISION. THE VEHICLE HAS NEVER BEEN IN A COLLISION WHEREBY THE AIRBAG DEPLOYED. FORD MOTOR COMPANY IS DRAGGING THEIR FEET IN GETTING REPLACEMENT PARTS AND HAS NOT OFFERED TO REMOVE THE AIR BAG WHILE WAITING ON PARTS.

TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2009 FORD FUSION. WHILE DRIVING 50 MPH, THE VEHICLE STALLED WITHOUT WARNING. THE CONTACT HEARD A LOUD CLANKING NOISE DIRECTLY BEFORE THE VEHICLE STALLED. THE VEHICLE WAS DIAGNOSED AS NEEDING A NEW MOTOR. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE ISSUE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 101,000.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2009 FORD FUSION. WHEN THE BRAKE PEDAL WAS DEPRESSED, IT TRAVELED TO THE FLOORBOARD. THE FAILURE WAS PERSISTENT. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE BRAKE LINE NEEDED TO BE FLUSHED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED, BUT THE FAILURE RECURRED NUMEROUS TIMES. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 107,919.
TAKATA RECALL: RECEIVED INITIAL NOTICE OF RECALIBRATING IN JUNE 2016 AND A REMEDY HAS STILL NOT BEEN PROVIDED BY CAR MANUFACTURER, OR TAKATA (WHICH IS IN BANKRUPTCY). IT APPEARS TO BE A VERY SERIOUS DEFECT, AND YET A SOLUTION/REMEDY STILL HAS NOT BEEN PROVIDED. CALLED LOCAL DEALERSHIPS AND NO ONE HAS BEEN PROVIDED WITH REPLACEMENT PARTS. I WOULD THINK THIS WOULD OPEN COMPANIES UP FOR POSSIBLE LITIGATION.
TAKATA RECALL - ISSUE STILL NOT REMEDIED AFTER 18 MONTHS OF WAITING FOR NOTICE TO REPLACE DEFECTIVE COMPONENTS! AIRBAG DASH LIGHT IS ON ALL THE TIME.
IN THE PAST YEAR AND A HALF, ON AT LEAST 4 OCCASIONS, THE BRAKES BECAME VERY MUSHY FOLLOWING ANYTIME THE ANTI LOCK BRAKES HAVE ACTIVATED. THE ABS WAS ACTIVATED WHEN COMING TO A STOP IN SLIPPERY CONDITIONS AND ON LOOSE GRAVEL. AFTERWARDS THE BRAKE PEDAL NEARLY GOES TO THE FLOOR IN ORDER TO STOP THE CAR. THIS USUALLY LASTS FOR A DAY BEFORE THE BRAKES RETURN TO NORMAL. I HAVE INQUIRED ABOUT THIS ISSUE WITH A LOCAL FORD DEALER, BUT THEY HAD NO EXPERIENCE WITH THIS SITUATION AND COULD NOT PROVIDE ANY REMEDY. A SEARCH OF THE INTERNET FOUND SEVERAL PEOPLE REPORTING THE SAME PROBLEM WITH THEIR FUSION (NOT ALL 2009 MODEL YEAR). NO ONE REPORTED A FIX FOR THE PROBLEM.
ABS CONTROL MODULE VALVE STICKING. THE 1ST EVENT HAPPENED DURING THE WINTER WHEN DRIVING IN SNOW AND THE ABS SYSTEM ENGAGED. AFTER THE EVENT THE PEDAL WOULD GO ALMOST ALL THE WAY TO THE FLOOR BEFORE THE BRAKE WOULD ENGAGE. AFTER RE-CREATING AN INTENTIONAL BRAKE SLIDE CAUSING THE ABS SYSTEM TO ENGAGE AGAIN THE VALVE BECAME "UNSTUCK" AND HAS BEEN FINE FOR A YEAR. BUT, ONCE AGAIN ON A DIRT ROAD THE ABS SYSTEM ENGAGED DUE TO BRAKING ON GRAVEL. ONE OF THE VALVES IS STUCK AGAIN AND RECREATING THE EVENT MAKING THE ABS SYSTEM RE-ENGAGE HAS NOT CURED THE PROBLEM. THIS IS A SAFETY ISSUE AND WITH 1500 MILES TO DRIVE HOME WHILE ON VACATION IS GOING TO BE A WHITE KNUCKLER. IT'S HARD TO THINK THAT WE HAVE TO SPEND $1000.00 FOR A REPAIR THAT WILL ONLY LAST UNTIL THE ABS SYSTEM IS NEEDED AGAIN AND ANOTHER VALVE STICKS! THIS IS A FAULTY PART DESIGN AND SHOULD BE RECALLED AND REPLACED WITH A DEPENDABLE PART.

THE DEALER WAS NOT CONTACTED REGARDING PART AVAILABILITY. THE CONTACT HAD NOT EXPERIENCED A FAILURE. VIN TOOL CONFIRMS PARTS NOT AVAILABLE.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2009 FORD FUSION. WHILE DRIVING 20 MPH, AN UNKNOWN NOISE WAS HEARD FROM THE DRIVER'S DOOR BEFORE IT SWUNG OPEN. THE CONTACT PULLED THE VEHICLE OVER TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD AND WAS UNABLE TO PROPERLY CLOSE THE DRIVER'S DOOR. THE DOOR AJAR WARNING LIGHT ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 98,000.
