THE VEHICLE'S BRAKES RANDOMLY CEASE WORKING. THIS HAS LED TO SEVERAL NEAR COLLISIONS, INCLUDING AT LEAST ONE HIGH-SPEED INCIDENT WHERE THE BRAKES FAILED ON THE INTERSTATE AND NEARLY CAUSED A SERIOUS CRASH. THE DEALERSHIP HAS KNOWN ABOUT THIS RECALL FOR NEARLY A YEAR AND HAS YET TO FIX THE ISSUE. THEY CLAIM THEY DON'T HAVE THE PARTS AND CLAIM THE ISSUE NEEDS TO BE TAKEN UP WITH THE MANUFACTURER. WHEN CONTACTING THE MANUFACTURER, THEY CLAIM IT IS THE RESPONSIBILITY OF THE DEALERSHIP TO FIX IT AND WILL NOT HELP EITHER. IT IS WILDLY UNACCEPTABLE THAT MANUFACTURERS AND DEALERSHIPS CAN PRODUCE AND SELL CARS WITH BRAKES THAT RANDOMLY SHUT DOWN COMPLETELY AND NOT FIX THE ISSUE. THIS IS NO SMALL MATTER, BRAKES THAT SPONTANEOUSLY STOP WORKING ARE ONE OF THE MOST DANGEROUS ISSUES THAT CAN HAPPEN TO A CAR, AND SUCH A ISSUE SHOULD BE ADDRESSED IMMEDIATELY. BEFORE THE RECALL WAS MADE PUBLIC, THE DEALERSHIP CHARGED US ON TWO SEPARATE OCCASIONS TO FIX THE BRAKES AND CLAIMED THEY WERE COMPLETELY FIXED. WE ARE CAUGHT IN A VICIOUS CYCLE OF BOTH THE DEALERSHIP AND THE MANUFACTURER REFUSING TO HELP AND CLAIMING THAT IT IS THE OTHER ONE WHO CAN HELP US. THIS IS A KNOWN AND PUBLIC RECALL (NHTSA RECALL NUMBER 19V904), AND WE SHOULD NOT BE TERRIFIED OF DYING IN A CAR CRASH BECAUSE OUR BRAKES RANDOMLY GO OUT AND THE RESPONSIBLE PARTIES KEEP DODGING RESPONSIBILITY. WE HAVE MADE MULTIPLE ATTEMPTS AT CONTACTING BOTH THE DEALERSHIP AND MANUFACTURER TO NO AVAIL, SO WE ARE WRITING TO THE NHTSA FOR ASSISTANCE IN THIS MATTER.

THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THE BRAKES NEEDED TO BE FLUSHED. THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED ABOUT NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 19V904000 (SERVICE BRAKES, HYDRAULIC). THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED NOR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT CONTACTED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS UNKNOWN.
TODAY I EXPERIENCED A FRIGHTENING DEGREE OF BRAKE FAILURE. I WAS ON A FREEWAY OFF RAMP WHICH WAS ON A DOWNGRADE. AS I WAS GOING OVER SOME MINOR BUMPS IN THE ROAD, I APPLIED MY BRAKES AND LOST ABOUT 80% OF THE BRAKES. I HEARD A STRANGE NOISE AND THOUGHT IT MIGHT BE THE ANTI-LOCK BRAKES. I HAD TO PUSH MY FOOT WAY DOWN TO THE FLOOR TO STOP THE CAR & IT DID STOP. THIS FAILURE CONTINUED FOR ABOUT 5-7MINUTES WHILE DRIVING IN STOP & GO CITY STREET TRAFFIC. I WAS READY TO PULL OVER AT A SAFE SPOT WHEN I NOTICED THE BRAKES RETURNED TO FULL POWER AND CONTINUED TO WORK PROPERLY FOR THE LAST 10 MINUTES OF MY DRIVE. NOW I'M AFRAID TO DRIVE THIS CAR, ESPECIALLY WITH CHILDREN OR PASSENGERS. I RECEIVED A RECALL NOTICE EARLIER THIS YEAR REGARDING THE ANTI-LOCK BRAKING SYSTEM ON MY CAR. IT WAS DATED JANUARY 2020: 19S54 / NHTSA RECALL 19V-904. I'VE RESEARCHED THIS PROBLEM AND SEE THAT IT HAS CAUSED ACCIDENTS ALREADY. WHEN I CALLED FORD ABOUT THIS NOTICE, I WAS TOLD IT WAS ONLY AN 'ALERT' AND THEY'D LET ME KNOW WHEN PARTS ARE AVAILABLE. THAT WAS 9 MONTHS AGO. THE NOTICE SAID PARTS WERE ANTICIPATED TO BE AVAILABLE THE LATE FIRST QUARTER OF 2020. NOW THAT I'VE EXPERIENCED THIS DEADLY HAZARD, THIS IS NOT ACCEPTABLE WHEN THE POSSIBILITY OF A CRASH EXISTS DUE TO BRAKE FAILURE! I WANT TO GET MY CAR REPAIRED NOW. PLEASE TELL ME HOW TO GO ABOUT THIS AND PREVENT ANY FUTURE ACCIDENT, INJURY OR DEATH.
2009 FORD FUSION. HAVE BEEN DRIVING THIS VEHICLE FOR OVER 2 YEARS. PERIODICALLY, I WOULD NEED TO HIT THE BRAKES HARDER THAN NORMAL TO AVOID SOMEONE PULLING OUT IN FRONT OF ME OR SOMETHING OF THAT NATURE. WHEN I WOULD HIT THE BRAKES HARD, I WOULD LOSE ABOUT 80%-90% OF MY BRAKING ABILITY FOR SOMETIMES DAYS. IT WOULD NOT BE SAFE TO DRIVE AND I WOULD HAVE TO MAKE SURE I LEFT 100+ YARDS IN FRONT OF THE CAR IN FRONT OF ME AFTER IT HAPPENED. I FINALLY SEE THE 19S54 RECALL COME OUT, AND I WAIT, AND WAIT FOR PARTS TO BECOME AVAILABLE. FINALLY, MONTHS LATER, I HAD THE BRAKES GO COMPLETELY OUT ON ME YESTERDAY 09SEP2020 AND I THEN DECIDED TO CALL FORD ABOUT IT, THEIR CUSTOMER SERVICE ACKNOWLEDGED THE RECALL AND STATED THERE WAS NO REPAIR AT THIS TIME BUT THAT IT WAS NOT A CONDITION THAT WOULD MAKE THE VEHICLE UNSAFE. I DISAGREE. THEY REFUSE TO PROVIDE A RENTAL CAR AND THEY JUST EXPECT ME TO PAY THE $1,600 RIGHT NOW TO HAVE IT FIXED AND MAYBE GET REIMBURSED LATER. I REFUSE TO PAY FOR IT UPFRONT KNOWING THERE IS ALREADY A VALID RECALL IN PLACE. I BELIEVE THIS IS GROSS NEGLIGENCE ON FORDS PART, NOT THE DEALERSHIP. THERE NEEDS TO BE ACCOMMODATIONS MADE. AFTER PAYING FOR THE DEALER TO "DIAG" THE PROBLEM, THEY CONFIRMED THAT IT WAS THE ABS HYD UNIT, CALLED FORD BACK, THEY STILL DIDN'T CARE AND ACTUALLY HUNG UP ON ME FOR STATING THAT I THOUGHT THIS WAS UNSAFE ENOUGH TO NOT WANT TO DRIVE. I WILL BE TAKING THIS TO THE NEXT LEVEL ONLY BECAUSE I KNOW I AM NOT THE ONLY ONE HAVING THIS SAME ISSUE.
REPLACED THE ABS SENSOR IN 2016 WITH A REFURBISHED ONE THAT IS NOW OUT OF WARRANTY. I WAS 30 MINUTES FROM HOME WITH 3 KIDS AND A DOG IN THE CAR GOING DOWNHILL IN A RESIDENTIAL NEIGHBORHOOD WHEN THE BRAKES FAILED AGAIN.I HAD IT TOWED TO A FORD DEALERSHIP AND THEY WANT ME TO PAY $1030 TO PUT IN ANOTHER FLAWED SENSOR BECAUSE THEY "HAVE NOT RELEASED THE PARTS" FOR THE RECALL THAT WAS SUPPOSED TO BE READY IN MARCH. I HAVE FILED COMPLAINTS WITH FORD (CASE CAS27456010) AND THE BBB (CASE FRD2022027). MEANWHILE I AM CAR-LESS WHILE IT SITS IN THE DEALERS LOT. I JUST SUBMITTED ANOTHER REPORT TO YOU ABOUT THE SAME INCIDENT IN 2016.
I WAS DRIVING ON A CITY BUSINESS ROAD OF 40 MPH MAX WHEN I WAS REQUIRED TO SLOW DOWN FOR A STOPLIGHT AHEAD. AS I SLOWED I NOTICED THAT THE BRAKE PEDAL CHUGGED AND PROCEEDED TO MOVE FORWARD TO THE FLOORBOARD. LUCKILY THE STOPLIGHT HAD CHANGED TO GREEN AND THE VEHICLES AHEAD OF ME ADVANCED. KNOWING THAT I HAD AN ISSUE WITH STOPPING THE VEHICLE, I SHIFTED THE VEHICLE INTO NEUTRAL IN CASE I NEEDED TO PULL THE PARKING BRAKE. AS I WAS NEARING A RESIDENTIAL AREA WITHIN A QUARTER MILE FROM MY HOME, I SLOWLY ADVANCED MY VEHICLE WITH EMERGENCY FLASHERS ON TO MY HOME. MY HUSBAND CALLED THE LOCAL FORD DEALER AND FORD MOTOR COMPANY. WE WILL NOT DRIVE THIS VEHICLE AS IT IS UNSAFE IN THIS CONDITION. WE ARE WAITING FOR THE NOTICE TO HAVE THIS PART REPLACED PER FORD (UNTIL NOVEMBER!!)
WE RECEIVED A SAFETY RECALL NOTICE IN JANUARY FOR RECALL 19V-904. THERE WAS NO FIX OFFERED AT THAT TIME. I CHECKED WITH THE DEALER TODAY, WHO SAID THERE IS STILL NO FIX OR PARTS AVAILABLE. WITH A RECALL NOTICE LIKE THIS INVOLVING A BRAKE PEDAL POTENTIALLY GOING TO THE FLOOR, THIS IS UNACCEPTABLE.
I'm sending this in response to the above noted letter which indicates that we failed to take our 2009 Ford Fusion to our Ford dealer to have the brake system checked pursuant to the Safety Recall Notice 19S54/ NHTSA 19V-904 which we received in January 2020. Your statement that we have failed to take the vehicle to our local dealership is incorrect; We took the vehicle to Sunset Ford, 11700 Gravois Road 63127 on 07/15/21. A short time after we dropped it off a dealer service representative called and advised us that the ABS light was on and refused to perform the work outlined in the January 2020 notice unless we agreed to pay for the diagnostic and all work associated with the ABS. I noted that the light had been on for over 7 years, the abs system had always functioned properly, had passed the Missouri safety inspection every year including that of May 2021 was diagnosed when it first occurred by Sinclair Ford to be a problem in the light circuit not the abs system referred her to the January 20 notice which specifically stated "a valve in the hydraulic control unit of the anti-lock braking system may be stuck open" and " repairs to be completed free of charge (parts and labor)" She stated she had all of the service information and recall notices in her file and none of them referred to the ABS systems in any manner...."either pay for the work or come back and pick up the car"....We picked up the car. A few days later I contacted the service department again and inquired about the recall and reviewed the situation with a different service representative. This person told me the abs system was not part of the recall but if the abs light was on the repairs were required by the NTSB. He said the cost could range between $300 up to $1500. I then posted the following in our neighborhood Paper: My wife took her 09 Ford Fusion to Sunset Ford this morning to get 2 NTSB recall issues repaired that we have been waiting for over a year for them to get the parts needed

THE CONTACT STATED THAT SHE JUST PURCHASED THE VEHICLE FOR HER DAUGHTER AT J & J AUTO GROUP INC, 804 S CICERO AVE, CHICAGO, IL 60644, AND AFTER LEAVING THE DEALER WHILE HER DAUGHTER WAS DRIVING AT 30 MPH, THE BRAKE PEDAL GOT STUCK, HER DAUGHTER WAS UNABLE TO CONTROL THE VEHICLE. AS A RESULT, HER DAUGHTER CRASHED INTO TWO VEHICLES THAT WERE PARK AND THEN RUN INTO A FENCE OF AN APARTMENT BUILDING. THE CONTACT MENTIONED THAT ONE OF THE VEHICLE THAT WAS PARK WAS TOTALED. THE CONTACT STATED THAT HER DAUGHTER SUSTAINED INJURIES TO THE FACE, BRUISES TO THE ARM, CUT TO THE LEFT EYES, BACK, HEAD CONCUSSION AND THREE BROKEN RIBS ON THE LEFT SIDE THAT REQUIRED MEDICAL ATTENTION. A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO A POUND TOW LOT. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT TAKEN TO A DEALER FOR A DIAGNOSTIC TESTING. THE VEHICLE WAS DESTROYED. The contact owns a 2009 Ford Fusion. The contact stated that while her daughter was driving at 40 MPH, the brake pedal was depressed but felt soft and failed to respond. There were no warning lights illuminated. The contact’s daughter continued to depress the brake pedal, but it would not respond. The contact stated that her daughter pulled the parking brake and the vehicle stopped. The contact became aware of NHTSA Campaign Number: 19V904000 (Service Brakes, Hydraulic). The vehicle was towed to the dealer for recall repair; however, the dealer informed the contact that the parts for the recall repair were not yet available. The vehicle was towed back to the contact’s residence. The dealer informed the contact that the parts for the recall repair were available and the vehicle was towed to the dealer. The contact stated that the hydraulic control unit was replaced as part of the recall repair however, the failure persisted. The dealer diagnosed that the brake master cylinder had failed and needed to be replaced. The contact stated that the brake master cylinder was replaced however, the failure persisted. The dealer advised the contact that the hydraulic control unit needed to be replaced and they had ordered a new part. The contact stated that the manufacturer had exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and advised the contact that the parts for the recall repair were not yet available. The vehicle was not repaired. I WAS DRIVING STOPED AT A LIGHT. NOTICED DARK SMOKE COMING FROM UNDER THE HOOD. MADE MY LEFT TURN TRYING TO GET TO A PARKING LOT JUST AHEAD. THE SMOKE STARTED COMING INTO THE CAR. IT WAS SMOKING BAD BY NOW. I PULLED OVER AS I DID I SAW FLAMES COMING FROM UNDER THE HOOD. THIS IS ONLY A MINUTE OR TWO LATER. I GOT OUT OF CAR CALLED 911. THE WHOLE ENGINE WAS BURNED UP THE FRONT TIRES. WINDSHIELD WAS STARTING TO CRACK AND STARTED MELTING. THIS WAS SO SCARY EVERY THING HAPPENED SO FAST AND THE GAUGE DIDN'T SHOW THE CAR WAS RUNNING THE SLIGHTEST BIT HOT. WITH ALL THAT IT SEEMED WHEN I WAS SLOWING DOWN FOR THE LIGHT THE BRAKES WERE STARTING TO GO OUT. THERE IS ONLY A LITTLE OVER 45,000 MILES ON MY CAR. NOW THAT I THINK OF ALL THIS I THANK GOD I DIDN'T GET INTO AN ACCIDENT AND HURT OR KILL SOMEONE INCLUDING MYSELF. ON MY 2009 FORD FUSION: THE BRAKES STARTED GETTING SOFTER AND TAKING LONGER TO STOP THE VEHICLE, ON THE HIGHWAY OR CITY STREETS. I HAVE PULLED AND TESTED THE MASTER CYLINDER THE BRAKES ARE FINE AND ARE NOT LOW, THE BRAKES HAVE BEEN BLED, WENT THROUGH 2 LARGE BOTTLES OF DOT 3 FLUID, CALIPERS TESTED, BUT THE BRAKES ARE STILL SOFT AND WILL NOT CATCH UNTIL ALMOST TO THE FLOOR. I WENT TO A FORD DEALERSHIP BECAUSE THEY ELUDED TO THE IDEA THAT THERE WAS A FIX FOR THE RECALL REGARDING THE ABS VALVE, I GOT THERE AND THEY SAID THERE WAS NOT A FIX AND THE RECALL ISSUE HAS NOT CAUSED ANY CRASHES AND IT WOULD NOT CAUSE MY BRAKES TO GO SOFT. I CORRECTED HIM AND SAID IT HAS CAUSED CRASHES AND THAT IS EXACTLY WHAT HAPPENS TO THE BRAKES. I CANNOT ORDER A NEW ABS MODULE, NO PARTS COMPANIES HAVE THEM. SO THE CAR BARELY STOPS AND STILL NO FIX AVAILABLE FOR THIS RECALL ISSUE.
MY VEHICLE IS UNDER RECALL FOR A FAULTY PART ON THE BREAKING SYSTEM, I CALLED FORD ON FRIDAY 5/22/2020 ( SUNSHINE FORD NEWBURGH, NY) AND WAS TOLD THEY DO NOT HAVE THE PART AND CANNOT EVEN ORDER IT AT THIS TIME. ALSO THEY HAVE NO IDEA WHEN THEY CAN ORDER IT, IT COULD BE MONTHS. MY CAR IS UN-DRIVEABLE WITHOUT THE NEW PART. I JUST HAD THE ENTIRE BREAKING SYSTEM REPLACED ( CALIPERS, ROTORS,AND PADS ). IN APRIL OF LAST YEAR 2019 I WAS NOTIFIED OF A AIRBAG RECALL ON MY VEHICLE. I WENT AND GOT MY AIRBAG RECALL DONE. NOW MY AIRBAG LIGHT ON DASH STAYS ON FOR THE PASS THREE DAYS. I TOOK MY VEHICLE BACK TO THE SAME FORD DEALERS THAT SERVICE MY CAR. MY VEHICLE WAS IN MOTION WITH THE AIRBAG LIGHT STILL ON. THE DEALER SHOP IS TELLING ME IT MAY NOT BE MY AIRBAG AND I WILL HAVE TO PAY FOR DIAGNOSIS,ETC. *TR

I WAS ABLE TO PULL THE EMERGENCY BRAKE IN TIME SO THAT I DID NOT COLLIDE INTO THE VEHICLE THAT WAS STOPPED IN FRONT OF ME. I HAVE CONTACTED MY FORD MULTIPLE TIMES TO HAVE CAR REPAIRED DUE TO RECALL AND MY RECENT BRAKE FAILURE ISSUE AND THEY HAVE TOLD ME THAT THEY DO NOT HAVE A FIX FOR MY CAR.

OVER THE LAST YEAR, I'VE GOTTEN A DOZEN RECALL NOTICES ABOUT THE AIRBAG. USDOT, BMV, VIOCC, NHTSA, ETC..... I'VE CONTACTED THE LOCAL FORD DEALERSHIP REPEATEDLY. THEY WON'T DO THE RECALL WORK. THEY KEEP SAYING THEY'RE WAITING FOR FUNDING FROM CORPORATE.
THE BRAKE PEDAL WILL INITIALLY SLOW DOWN VEHICLE AT FIRST BUT THEN YOU HAVE TO PUSH ALL THE WAY TO THE FLOOR TO GET VEHICLE TO STOP. LIKE PUSHING ON AIR AT FIRST AND THEN YOU PUSH TO THE FLOOR. I DRIVE AND TO SLOW DOWN REQUIRES STAYING EARLY AND PUSHING ALL WAY DOWN TO FLOOR.

RECEIVED A RECALL NOTICE FOR A PROBLEM I HAVE HAD WITH MY FUSION (ABS MODULE VALVE STUCK OPEN) WHICH MEANS THE BRAKES WORK AND LOCKUP ONLY WHEN PRESSED ALL THE TO THE FLOOR. WENT TO 3 FORD DEALERS AND NONE WILL HELP BECAUSE THE RECALL HAS NO "SOLUTION YET". ONE TECH TOLD ME TO DEAL WITH A BAD BRAKE PEDAL AND DON'T DRIVE FAST. THAT'S NOT SAFE FOR MY WIFE OR CHILD IN THE VEHICLE. FORD SAYS PARTS MAY BE AVAILABLE IN THE LAST PART OF THE 2020 FIRST QUARTER. BRAKING ISSUE. WHILE DRIVING, TWICE LAST WINTER, I HAD TO BRAKE SUDDENLY AND I LOST BRAKING ABILITY TO STOP IN A TIMELY MANNER. THE PEDAL GOES TO THE FLOOR AND IS VERY SLOW TO STOP. IT TAKES MULTIPLE TIMES OF PUMPING THE BRAKE TO GET ANY PRESSURE BACK UP TO BRAKE. I'VE HAD MULTIPLE SHOPS LOOK AT IT AND HAVE REPLACED THE BRAKES THEMSELVES AND THEY DO NOT FIND ANYTHING WRONG. THE LAST SHOP HAD TO BLED THE BRAKE LINES AND FOUND AIR BUBBLES IN THE LINES THAT NEED TO BE BLED OUT, WHICH SEEMED TO HELP. FORTUNATELY, I HAVE NOT HAD ANY ACCIDENTS WHEN THIS OCCURRED BUT HAVE COME CLOSE.

SINCE THEN I HAVE REPEATEDLY CONTACTED THEM AND THEY HAVE ALTERNATED BETWEEN TELLING ME THEY DIDN'T KNOW WHEN PARTS WOULD BE AVAILABLE AND GIVING ME BOGUS DATES WHICH WERE THEN MISSED; NOTE THAT MOST OF THESE CONTACTS WERE ME CONTACTING THEM, NOT THE REVERSE, EVEN AFTER DEADLINES PROMISED IN WRITING HAD PASSED WITHOUT ANY CONTACT FROM THEM. THE RECALL NOTICE CLAIMS THAT THE VEHICLE IS STILL SAFE TO DRIVE, BUT IT ALSO SAYS THAT THE RECALL IS FOR A PROBLEM WITH THE BRAKE PEDAL WHICH COULD INCREASE THE RISK OF A CRASH. THIS DOES NOT SOUND SAFE! WHILE I AM SYMPATHETIC TO SUPPLIER DELAYS CAUSED BY THE PANDEMIC, THE FACTS THAT (A) THEY HAVE REPEATEDLY, EVEN FAR AFTER THE START OF THE PANDEMIC, GIVEN BOGUS DATES FOR WHEN PARTS WOULD BE AVAILABLE FOR THIS RECALL, (B) NOT BEEN PROACTIVE ABOUT COMMUNICATING DELAYS EVEN AFTER PROMISED DEADLINES HAD PASSED, AND (C) NOT OFFERED SUBSTITUTE TRANSPORTATION, ARE SIMPLY NOT OK. I WAS DRIVING MY FORD FUSION ON THE HIGHWAY, CHANGED LANES SO THAT I WAS BEHIND A TRUCK WITH REASONABLE ROOM. THE TRUCK HIT THEIR BRAKES AND WHEN I HIT MINE THE BRAKE PEDAL FELT SOFT. WHEN THE TRUCK CAME TO A COMPLETE STOP THERE WAS NO WHERE TO GO AS TRAFFIC WAS MOVING TO THE MY RIGHT AND I ENDED UP HITTING THE TRUCK. I COMPLETED A FULL BRAKE JOB INCLUDING NEW BRAKES ON THE VEHICLE WITHIN THE LAST 18 MONTHS. THERE WAS NO ABS ACTIVATION OR BRAKE LOCK UP UNDER FULL BREAKING AND I SHOULD OF HAD TIME TO STOP.

I WAS DRIVING AND HIT A SLIPPERY ROAD SURFACE.THE ABS ENGAGD AND IMMEDIATELY AFTER THAT THE BRAKE WENT VERY LOW AND I COULD NOT ACHIEVE NORMAL BRAKING PRESSURE.
DAUGHTER SAYS BRAKES HAVE BEEN PERIODICALLY SOFT AND ONE TIME UNRESPONSIVE.
FORD HAS ISSUED AN ADVANCE RECALL NOTICE 19S54 (NHTSA 19V904) WITH INTERIM SUGGESTION OF BRAKE FLUID FLUSH, RESERVOIR CAP REPLACEMENT, AND HYDRAULIC CONTROL UNIT (HCU) TESTING AND REPLACEMENT IF NECESSARY. THE ISSUE IS THAT SOME RECOMMENDED BRAKE FLUIDS HAVE CORROSIVE AGENTS THAT DEGRADE THE HCU AND CAUSE IT TO STICK OPEN. WHEN THIS HAPPENS THE BRAKE PEDAL TRAVELS FURTHER THAN IT SHOULD INCREASING THE RISK OF ACCIDENT. I HAVE HAD THIS HAPPEN TWICE WITH NO ACCIDENTS, BUT IT IS VERY SCARY AS THE BRAKES HAVE TO BE PUMPED TO WORK PROPERLY. I CONTACTED A LOCAL FORD AGENT WHO HAS DECLINED TO PROVIDE THE RECOMMENDED INTERIM SOLUTION WITH FREE PARTS AND LABOR AS RECOMMENDED ON THE ADVANCE NOTICE. SINCE THE FIRST TIME MY ISSUE HAPPENED WAS PRIOR TO RECEIVING THE RECALL NOTICE AND RESOLVED ITSELF (INTERMITTENT) QUICKLY. THE SECOND TIME THIS HAPPENED I WAS AWARE OF THE RECALL AND HAVEN'T DRIVEN MY VEHICLES SINCE. I DID NOT CONTACT THE FORD DEALER IMMEDIATELY AS I HAD ACCESS TO AN EXTRA VEHICLE. HOWEVER, I HAVE SINCE LOST THAT ACCESS AND NOW NEED THIS ISSUE RESOLVED AND HAVE NOT RECEIVED THE SECOND RECALL NOTICE THAT WAS PROMISED WHEN PARTS BECAME AVAILABLE FOR FINAL SOLUTION. I DO NOT HAVE THE FUNDS TO PAY FOR INTERIM RESOLUTION AND NEED FORD TO HONOR THE LANGUAGE OF THE ADVANCE RECALL NOTICE SO I FEEL SAFE DRIVING THE CAR. BOTH TIMES I EXPERIENCED THE BRAKE PEDAL ISSUES WAS WHILE DRIVING ON CITY STREETS. HOWEVER, MY SON EXPERIENCED THE ISSUE WHILE ON HIGHWAY DRIVING. I CONFIRMED THE ISSUE WHILE DRIVING IT DURING MY SECOND EXPERIENCE.
