IN ADDITION, THE POWER STEERING BECAME DIFFICULT TO TURN AND THE TIRE PRESSURE WARNING INDICATOR ILLUMINATED. CRAIN FORD OF JACKSONVILLE (1800 SCHOOL DR, JACKSONVILLE, AR 72076, (501) 436-4950) WAS INFORMED OF THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS CONTACTED AND DID NOT ASSIST. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 115,000.

THE VEHICLE WAS DRIVEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHO DETERMINED THAT THE FUSE RELAY ASSEMBLY AND WIRING HARNESS FAILED AND NEEDED REPLACEMENT. THE CONTACT ALSO STATED THAT THE FAILURE OCCURRED ONE OTHER TIME. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT TAKEN TO A DEALER FOR DIAGNOSTIC TESTING. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 53,422.
DOOR LATCH - DRIVER'S DOOR INTERIOR HANDLE - FAILED. SYMPTOMS APPEAR TO BE THE SAME FAILURE MODE REPORTED ON NUMEROUS FORD MODELS AND YEARS. THE HANDLE DOES NOT CONTROL THE DOOR. THE LOCK MECHANISM DOES NOT FUNCTION.

THE MANUFACTURER WAS CONTACTED AND DID NOT ASSIST. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 60,000.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2012 FORD FUSION. WHILE DRIVING AT AN UNKNOWN SPEED, THE STEERING LOST POWER AND THE SERVICE POWER STEERING INDICATOR ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AUTONATION FORD FRISCO (972-763-5523, LOCATED AT 6850 HWY 121, FRISCO, TX 75034) AND WAS INFORMED THAT THERE WAS NO RECALL. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHO DIAGNOSED IT AND RESET AN UNKNOWN CODE; HOWEVER, THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN BACK TO THE SAME INDEPENDENT MECHANIC, BUT WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE AND STATED THAT THERE WAS NO RECALL. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 100,800.
SQUEAKS AND CREAKS HEARD WHILE DRIVING OVER BUMPS AND TURNING CAN BE CAUSED BE A COUPLE COMMON SOURCES AND SHOULD BE CAREFULLY DIAGNOSED. POSSIBLE WELD ISSUES ON THE LOWER CONTROL ARMS CAN CAUSE THE NOISE CONCERN
I HAVE AN ISSUE WITH MY 2012 FORD FUSION. A COUPLE OF YEARS AGO I HAD MY STEERING RACK REPLACED AS A PART OF THE MANUFACTURERS RECALL. HERE I AM A COUPLE OF YEARS LATER WITH A FORD FUSION WITH A FAILED STEERING RACK THAT NEEDS TO BE REPLACED ACCORDING TO MY LOCAL FORD DEALERSHIP. MY CAR NOW HAS NO POWER STEERING AND THE WARNING LIGHT FOR THE ADVANCETRACK SYSTEM HONKS AT ME EVERY TIME I START THE CAR. I THINK THIS IS RIDICULOUS TO HAVE THIS HAPPEN IN SUCH A SHORT PERIOD OF TIME, AND IT'S CLEAR THAT THE MAIN ISSUE WAS NEVER REMEDIED BECAUSE IT HAS TO DO WITH HOW CRAMPED ALL THE PARTS UNDER THE HOOD ARE; THERE'S NO ROOM FOR AIR SO THE STEERING RACK BASICALLY GETS COOKED INTO OBLIVION. SO HERE I AM AT 42 YEARS OLD WITH A MEDICAL DISABILITY AND A REPAIR THAT COSTS $1600 WHILE MY CAR IS WORTH LESS THAN THAT...AND I HAVE NO RECOURSE AS THE COMPANY IS NOT TAKING CARE OF IT'S RESPONSIBILITIES. WHILE MY CAR HAS 160,000 MILES ON IT, THE STEERING RACK WAS REPLACED AND HAS MUCH LESS WEAR ON IT SO IT SHOULDN'T BE DYING ON ME
FORD 2012 FUSION SEL POWER STEERING CONTROL MODULE FAILURE: AFTER RECEIVING FORD RECALL NOTICE 15S18 REGARDING THE POWER STEERING CONTROL MODULE, I RETURNED MY CAR TO THE LOCAL FORD DEALERSHIP ON 08/06/15 TO HAVE THE RECALL COMPLIED WITH. AFTER COMPLETION OF THE RECALL, THE SERVICE RECEIPT NOTED NO REPLACEMENT PARTS WERE INSTALLED, ONLY A "REPROGRAM OF THE POWER STEERING CONTROL MODULE". NOW IN JUNE 2019, THE CAR HAS DISPLAYED A "POWER STEERING ASSIST" FAULT ON THE INSTRUMENT CLUSTER 4 TIMES WITHIN THE LAST 6 DAYS. THE FAULT CODE DID EXTINGUISH AFTER TURNING THE IGNITION TO "OFF" AND RESTARTING THE CAR. THIS HAPPENED TWICE WHEN THE CAR WAS COLD AFTER SITTING AND BACKING UP FROM A PARKING SPACE, ONCE AFTER THE CAR WAS DRIVEN, BUT AFTER STARTUP AND ENGAGING "DRIVE", AND AGAIN HOT WHEN BACKING OUT OF A PARKING SPOT. TODAY I DROVE THE SUBJECT CAR TO THE LOCAL DEALERSHIP AND DISCUSSED MY OPTIONS FOR REPAIR WITH THE FORD SERVICE MANAGER. HE EXPLAINED THAT THE PROBABILITY OF THE POWER STEERING CONTROL MODULE WAS PRETTY HIGH AND THE FAULTS WOULD CONTINUALLY GET WORSE (MORE OFTEN?) WITH TIME. HE EXPLAINED THAT ONCE THE RECALL WAS COMPLIED WITH, FORD CONSIDERS THE RECALL CLOSED AND ANY REPAIRS/ FAULTS AFTER THE RECALL AT THAT TIME WERE THE RESPONSIBILITY OF THE CUSTOMER AT THE ESTIMATED COST OF $2,220. THE SERVICE MANAGER OFFERED A DIAGNOSTIC CHECK FOR $119. I DECIDED NOT TO HAVE THE DIAGNOSTIC SERVICE PERFORMED BELIEVING THAT THE SERVICE MANAGER'S OPINION OF THE FAULTY POWER STEERING CONTROL MODULE AND MY EXPERIENCE WERE ENOUGH TO CONCLUDE A FAULTY POWER STEERING CONTROL MODULE. IT SEEMS THAT THE FAULTY MODULE, ESPECIALLY BECAUSE IT WAS NEVER REPLACED AT THE TIME THE RECALL WAS COMPLIED WITH, SHOULD BE THE FULL RESPONSIBILITY OF FORD. THE PART IS BAD! IT JUST DIDN'T TEST BAD AT THE EARLIER DATE. IT STILL PROVED BAD/ FAULTY.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2012 FORD FUSION. WHILE DRIVING 40 MPH, THE CONTACT HEARD AN ABNORMAL NOISE. WHEN THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL WAS DEPRESSED, THE VEHICLE DID NOT GAIN SPEED. THE CONTACT PARKED THE VEHICLE ON THE SIDE OF THE ROAD AND THEN TOOK IT TO CABRERA AUTO (LOCATED AT CARR #2 KM 82.2 SALIDA EXPRESO HATILLO, PR-2, 00614, PUERTO RICO, +1 787-333-8410) WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE TRANSMISSION NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 57,000. *BF DESCRIPTION IN SPANISH. *JB
POWER STEERING ASSIST MESSAGE APPEARED ON DISPLAY. CHECKED MANUAL. SAID TO TURN OFF AND RESTART. DID THAT AND IT DISAPPEARED. IT CONTINUE TO HAPPEN MORE FREQUENTLY. TOOK IT TO FORD DEALER. YES THERE WAS A RECALL ON THE POWER STEERING CONTROL MODULE. (15S18). THIS RECALL IS ONLY GOOD FOR 10 YEARS OR 150,000 MILES. MY VEHICLE HAS 152,000 MILES. SAID I DID NOT QUALIFY FOR RECALL. CALLED FORD CUSTOMER SERVICE AND WAS TOLD THERE WAS A PROGRAM (15N01) UPDATE AND DEALER WOULD NEED TO SUBMIT APPROVAL REQUEST. DID THESE STEPS AND DEALER SAID IT WAS DENIED SO TO FIX PROBLEM I WILL NEED TO ASSUME THE COST MYSELF.
I WAS DRIVING AND MY STEERING WHEEL BECAME VERY STIFF. ABOUT 30 MINUTES LATER THERE WAS A RED ALERT ON THE DASH STATING SERVICE POWER STEERING. THEN ABOUT FIVE MINUTES LATER ANOTHER ALERT CAME ON AND IT WAS YELLOW THAT SAID SERVICE ADVANCETRAC. AFTER THAT HAPPENED I DROVE HOME AND THE NEXT MORNING WHEN I GOT IN MY VEHICLE TO LEAVE THE STEERING WHEEL WAS COMPLETELY LOCKED. EVEN THOUGH IT IS 2019 I UNDERSTAND THE CAR HAS YEARS ON IT BUT AFTER ONLY HAVING IT FOR THREE MONTHS FROM THE DEALERSHIP I AM EXTREMELY UPSET.
POWER STEERING ASSIST IS LOST INSTANTLY AND STEERING WHEEL DIFFICULT TO MOVE BUT STILL POSSIBLE. SERVICE ENGINE SOON LIGHT COME ON BUT NO OTHER INDICATIONS. AFTER OVER NIGHT THE PROBLEM IS FIXED ONLY TO RETURN LATER.

I HAVE A RECALL ON MY AIRBAG
TAKATA RECALL - IN FEB 2019, FORD HEADQUARTERS SENT ME A LETTER TELLING ME TO SCHEDULE MY RECALL REPAIR. ON MAR. 11 I TRIED TO DO SO AND WAS PUT ON A "WAITING LIST" FOR PARTS. THIS WEEK I RECEIVED ANOTHER LETTER FROM FORD. IT SAID, "PARTS ARE NOW AVAILABLE TO REPAIR YOUR VEHICLE." BUT THE DEALER SAYS IT DOESN'T HAVE ANY, THAT THERE ARE 125 PEOPLE AHEAD OF ME ON THE LIST AND THAT "FIRST AVAILABLE" IS THE END OF AUGUST. AT THAT RATE I DOUBT THEY'LL HAVE PARTS FOR ME THIS YEAR. FORD IS GIVING OUT FALSE INFO IN SAYING"PARTS ARE NOW AVAILABLE TO REPAIR YOUR VEHICLE." ARE THEY GIVING YOUR AGENCY ACCURATE INFO?
SHIFT CABLE OFF TRANSMISSION CABLE BUSHING. PARKED AT HOTEL, SHIFTED TO PARK AND TOOK FOOT OFF BRAKE AND VECHILE BEGAN ROLLING FORWARD. SHIFTER WAS STUCK IN PARK POSITION BUT CAR WAS IN DRIVE. USED E-BRAKE TO AVOID ROLLING INTO NEXT VEHICLE IN FRONT OF ME. CAR WILL NOT START BECAUSE IT IS STILL IN DRIVE.
I OWN A 2012 FORD FUSION SE 6 CYLINDER THIS VEHICLE HAS A MAJOR SAFETY HAZARD. MY PASSENGER SIDE RTAIL LIGHT CONTINUES TO BLOW AND THE MOST RECENT INCIDENT OCCURRED LAST WEEK WHEN I NOTICED A BURNING SMELL. I HAVE BEEN REPLACING THIS TAIL LIGHT EVERY SIX MONTHS FOR THE PAST TWO YEARS AND IT HAS CAUSED MELTING AROUND THE LIGHT SOCKET AND THE BULB IS CLEARLY BURNT. AFTER GOOGLING THIS ISSUE I HAVE SEEN NUMEROUS COMPLAINTS ABOUT THE SAME ISSUE WITH THE 2012 FORD FUSION AND A RECALL NEEDS TO BE ISSUED IMMEDIATELY OR I AM GOING TO THE PUBLIC. THIS CAN KILL SOMEONE AND START A FIRE ESPECIALLY IF THE BLAZE GETS OUT OF HAND AND CHILDREN ARE IN THE BACKSEAT STRAPPED IN. PLEASE EMAIL ME [XXX] REGARDING IF YOU ARE HAVING A SIMILAR CONCERN SO I CAN COMPILE THIS AND GO PUBLIC BECAUSE THEY HAVE RECEIVED SEVERAL COMPLAINTS AND NOT DONE ANYTHING TO REMEDY THIS ISSUE. AFTER MY ABS SYSTEM ENGAGED WHILE DRIVING DOWN AN UNEVEN ROAD, MY BRAKES HAVE BEEN SOFT FOR ABOUT A WEEK NOW. I'VE TRIED TO PUMP THEM BUT IT DOESN'T SEEM TO DO ANYTHING AND I NEED EXTRA DISTANCE TO BRAKE THAN I NORMALLY WOULD. ALSO, WHEN THE ABS SYSTEM ENGAGED THE BRAKE PEDAL WENT STRAIGHT TO THE FLOOR. THIS HAS HAPPENED BEFORE WHEN I WAS DRIVING THROUGH SNOWY CONDITIONS THIS PAST DECEMBER. THE ABS ENGAGED AND THEN THE BRAKES WERE SOFT FOR A WEEK. IT FINALLY JUST SOMEHOW FIXED ITSELF.
ELECTRIC POWER ASSIST STEERING SEIZED UP AND ALMOST IMPOSSIBLE TO TURN WHEN AT A STOP, HARDER TO TURN THAN MANUAL STEERING. THERE IS A RECALL FOR THIS: FORD # 15S18, NHTSA # 15V340000 BUT UPON CONTACTING LOCAL DEALERSHIP AND FORD THEY SAY MY VEHICLE IS NOT IN THAT RECALL, UNSURE OF HOW IT ISN'T BECAUSE IT IS IN THE DATE PERIOD AND MANUFACTURED AT HERMOSILLO, MEXICO.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2012 FORD FUSION. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 70 MPH, THE STEERING WHEEL SEIZED WITHOUT WARNING. THE CONTACT RESTARTED THE VEHICLE, BUT THERE WAS NO POWER STEERING ABILITY. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE CONTACT CALLED PLAZA FORD (1701 BELAIR RD, BEL AIR, MD 21014, (410) 838-3100) AND WAS INFORMED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS PREVIOUSLY REPAIRED IN 2015 PER NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 15V340000 (STEERING). THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 125,000.
TAKATA RECALL. WHEN FIXING THE AIRBAG PROBLEM THEY RETURN MY CAR WITH EVERYTHING BROKEN THAT THEY TOUCHED PARTS WERE BROKEN AND DAMAGED . FORD ATTEMPTED TO FIX SOME OF THE ITEMS BUT ALSO MADE THEM WORSE WHEN THEY REPAIRED MY DASHBOARD BUT THEY WILL NOT FIX THE REMAINING ITEMS $6000 APPROXIMATELY IN PARTS ALONE .
I HAD A LEAK UNDER THE FRONT OF THE CAR, STAINING MY DRIVEWAY. EVEN AFTER HAVING THE PTU REPLACED, I STILL HAD A LEAK. I ONLY REALIZED IT WAS LEAKING WHEN I HAD TO PARK IN A DIFFERENT LOCATION IN MY DRIVEWAY. I BROUGHT IT TO ANOTHER GARAGE. FOUND OUT THAT THE TRANSMISSION TUBE WERE RUSTED, THUS LEAKING TRANSMISSION FLUID. THE GARAGE REPLACED THE TRANSMISSION TUBES, AND REPLACED ALL THE FLUID.
STEERING WENT OUT FORD PUT IN NEW STEERING THAT WENT OUT 2 DAYS LATER FORD SAID IT WAS NOT A RECALL ISSUE NOW I HAVE TO BRING CAR BACK MONDAY 6/10/2019 I DID RESEARCH AND FOUND OUT THERE COULD BE THERMAL ISSUES THAT FORD IS HIDING WITH HEAT SHIELDS SAID WHEN THE CAR FLASHES STEERING PROBLEM IT WENT OUT ABOUT 15 MIN LATER I WAS PARKED AT STORE AND STARTED CAR NO STEERING DROVE 100 FT TO AUTO SHOP THEY REINSTATED AND TOLD BE TO BRING TO FORD FOR POSSIBLE RECALL
STEERING LOCKED UP WHILE DRIVING, TOOK INTO DEALERSHIP SAID IT WAS THE CONTROL ARMS 2 WEEKS LATER SAME THING HAPPENED, STEERING LOCKED UP
BACKED OUT OF GARAGE AND NOTICED LEFT FRONT OF HOOD WAS LOWER THAN RIGHT SIDE. FOUND A BROKEN SPRING ON LEFT FRONT STRUT ASSEMBLY. WHEN REPLACING THE LEFT FRONT SPRING, I FOUND THAT THIS WAS ACTUALLY THE 2ND BREAK ON THAT SPRING, THE OTHER BREAK WAS HEAVILY RUSTED, SO HAD HAPPENED LONG BEFORE. THE NEW BREAK WAS APPROXIMATELY 1 COIL FARTHER UP THE SPRING. WHEN I REMOVED THE RIGHT FRONT STRUT ASSEMBLY, I NOTICED THAT SPRING WAS ALSO BROKE AND HAD BEEN FOR A LONG TIME AS WELL. BOTH SPRINGS WERE BROKE IN ALMOST THE EXACT SAME SPOT, RIGHT WHERE THE SPRING IS NO LONGER SUPPORTED BY THE LOWER SPRING SEAT. IT APPEARS THAT THIS WOULD BE A HEAT TREAT ISSUE WITH THE SPRINGS AND THERE WOULD BE MANY PEOPLE WITH THE SAME ISSUE. I DID HAVE A COWORKER WITH THE SAME BREAKS ON HER MERCURY MILAN, SAME MODEL YEAR. MULTIPLE DEALERSHIP VISITS DID NOT NOTICE THE BREAKAGE, BUT DID NOTICE AN ALIGNMENT ISSUE, NOT SURPRISING. ASSEMBLIES ARE STILL IN MY POSSESSION. I HAVE ATTACHED A PICTURE OF THE RIGHT SIDE SPRING, YOU CAN SEE THE AMOUNT OF RUST ON AND AROUND THE BREAK AND ALSO SEE THE BREAK IS AT THE END OF THE LOWER SPRING SEAT.
POWER STEERING MAKES A SCRAPING NOISE WHEN YOU TURN THE STEERING WHEEL. SOMETIMES IT GETS HARDER TO TURN AND THERE ARE NOISES ASSOCIATED WITH IT. IT HAS HAPPENED TO ME WHILE STATIONARY AND WHILE DRIVING WHEN TURNING. I AM AFRAID THAT POWER STEERING WILL FAIL ON THAT CAR LEAVING ME ON THE SIDE OF THE ROAD OR EVEN PUT ME AT RISK FOR AN ACCIDENT.
HIT A DEER AND THE AIR BAG DID NOT DEPLOY. MOVING AT 45 MPH SOMETIMES ON START UP STEERING ASSIST DOESN'T COME ON - PARKED TODAY (05.29.19) ADVANCETRAC LIGHT CAME ON AND THE CAR IS MAKING GROWLING TYPE NOISES.- DRIVING PARKING LOTS AND STREETS

WHEN I STARTED MY 2012 FORD FUSION AS NORMAL, THE POWER STEERING DIDN'T WORK AND THE WARNING LIGHTS "SERVICE ADVANCETRAC" AND "SERVICE POWER STEERING NOW" APPEARED ON MY DASH BOARD. I HAVE HAD THE RECALL WORK DONE PREVIOUSLY BUT APPARENTLY THE PROBLEM WAS NOT PROPERLY ADDRESSED AS I HAVE THE SAME ISSUE OCCURRING. IS THERE ANY RECOURSE FOR OWNERS OF THIS VEHICLE OTHER THAN PAYING RIDICULOUS MONEY TO REPAIR IT MYSELF, EVEN THOUGH THIS IS CLEARLY A MANUFACTURING ERROR?!?
NOTE: MILEAGE ON VEHICLE APPROXIMATELY 106,000 MILES. CAR REGULARLY SERVICED AND WELL MAINTAINED. WENT TO THE STORE IN THE VEHICLE. UPON GETTING BACK IN THE VEHICLE IT DID NOT WANT TO TURN ON. AFTER A WHILE THE VEHICLE DID TURN ON AND AS I WAS PUTTING THE VEHICLE IN REVERSE WHILE IN THE PARKING LOT, AND A BUNCH OF ERROR MALFUNCTION MESSAGES/CODES APPEARED ON THE DASH UPON DRIVING. THE STEERING WHEEL BECAME HARD TO/ WOULD NOT TURN UPON DRIVING. I WAS ABLE TO MOVE THE VEHICLE OUT OF HARMS WAY. THIS IS A MAJOR SAFETY ISSUE AND COULD QUITE POSSIBLY HARM/KILL LIVES. THIS VEHICLE HAS HAS NO SERVICE ISSUES AND I HAD NO WARNING.
THE "SERVICE ADVANCETRAC" AND "SERVICE POWER STEERING" WARNINGS SHOWED UP WHILE DRIVING DOWN THE INTERSTATE BUT WAS ABLE TO MAINTAIN CONTROL. AFTER TURNING OFF THE CAR AND TURNING IT BACK ON, THE POWER STEERING WARNING CHANGED TO "SERVICE POWER STEERING NOW" AND THERE WAS TOTAL LOSS OF STEERING CONTROL. THE CAR WAS TAKEN TO A FORD DEALER AND SERVICED UNDER THE RECALL 15V340000. TWO WEEKS LATER, WHILE DRIVING DOWN THE SAME INTERSTATE HIGHWAY, THE TWO SERVICE WARNINGS SHOWED UP AGAIN. LIKE THE FIRST TIME, AFTER TURNING THE CAR OFF AND ON, THERE WAS TOTAL LOSS OF STEERING CONTROL. THE CAR WAS TAKEN BACK TO THE DEALER FOR SERVICING BUT THIS TIME THE CAR'S COMPUTER APPARENTLY PRODUCED CODES OUTSIDE OF THE REALM OF THE RECALL WHILE STILL AFFECTING THE SAME SYSTEM. THE REPAIR COST FOR THE SECOND VISIT WAS ABOUT $1,500. CAR MILEAGE IS ONLY 95000.
THE AIRBAG SYSTEM WAS RECALLED BUT THE AIRBAG LIGHT REMAINED ON.
THE BRAKE PEDAL GOES ALL THE WAY TO THE FLOOR BEFORE SLOWING DOWN EVEN WHEN ACCELERATING AT SLOW SPEEDS. THEY'RE VERY SPONGES WHEN MAKING STOPS AND ALMOST NON EXISTENT AFTER HITTING A BUMP IN THE ROAD.
I WENT TO STIVERS FORD ABOUT THE AIR BAG BE TO THE END OF JANUARY AND THE BEGINNING OF FEBRUARY THE MECHANIC TOOK MY RECALL INFORMATION SAID THEY WOULD CALL ME AS SOON AS THE NEW BAGS GOT IN NEVER HEARD FROM THEM I CALLED EVERY MONTH ONLY TO BE TOLD NOTHING CAME IN YET SO I CALLED FORD CUSTOMERS SERVICE THEY HAD ME ON HOLD THE MECHANIC IN MONTGOMERY STATED THAT THERE WAS NO RECORD OF ME EVER BEING THERE. CUSTOMER SERVICE LEFT ME ON THE PHONE WITH THE MECHANIC TO MAKE AN APPOINTMENT SHE HUNG UP THE PHONE I GAVE THE MECHANIC MY FIRST AND LAST NAME THEN HE REPEATED BACK TO ME MY FIRST AND LAST NAME WITH MY ADDRESS KEEP IN MIND HE HAD ALL OF MY INFORMATION IN THE SYSTEM THE WHOLE TIME. SO I MADE AN APPOINTMENT FOR FRIDAY MAY 31 2019. THERE IS A FAULTY TIRE LIGHT ON THAT WON'T GO AWAY EVEN WHEN I HAD THE TIRE CHECKED THE CAR STOPPED IN THE MIDDLE OF THE INTERSECTION DURING THE GREEN LIGHT IN HEAVY TRAFFIC THE 🔧 LIGHT CAME ON WITH THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT AND THE FLASHING FAULTY TIRE LIGHT . I PUT THE CAR IN PARK AND TURNED OFF THE ENGINE THEN RESTARTED THE CAR AND DROVE HOME I WAS VERY AFRAID BECAUSE THE CARS BEHIND ME WERE MOVING PRETTY FAST I WAS BLESSED TO NOT BE HIT FROM BEHIND. NEXT DAY DROVE THE CAR TO A REPAIR SHOP. EVERY THING WAS WORKING FINE THEY RAN A DIAGNOSIS SHOWING THE THROTTLE WAS STUCK AND WOULD NOT RESET SO IT IS STUCK.

I WAS DRIVING AS NORMAL, WENT TO PICK UP MY SIBLINGS TO GO SEE OUR DAD. A COUPLE MINUTES AFTER DRIVING FROM GETTING MY SIBLINGS, MY CAR MESSAGE CENTER SAID SERVICE POWER STEERING AND SERVICE ADVANCETRAC. I WAS ABLE TO MAKE IT TO MY DESTINATION WITHOUT ANY STEERING PROBLEMS. I TURNED MY CAR OFF WHEN I GOT TO MY DAD'S AND WHEN I TURNED IT BACK ON TO LEAVE THE STEERING WHEEL WAS LOCKED AND MY MESSAGE CENTER SAID TO SERVICE POWER STEERING NOW AND SERVICE ADVANCETRAC. 3 DAYS LATER I HAVE A LOW TIRE PRESSURE WARNING.

CAR WILL STALL OUT AND GETS NO POWER PERIODICALLY. SOMETIMES THIS HAPPENS IN HEAVY TRAFFIC, ON INTERSTATE, ETC. EXTREMELY DANGEROUS SITUATION AND SEVERAL PEOPLE HAVE HAD SIMILAR PROBLEM WITH THIS CAR. WILL NOT SHOW A CODE WHEN TAKEN TO REPAIR SHOP. HAVE ALREADY HAD THROTTLE BODY REPLACED, FRONT O2 SENSOR. CAR ONLY HAS 62,000 MILES ON IT.
POWER STEERING RECALL- MY SON WAS DRIVING HOME WHEN HIS POWER STEERING WENT OUT. THIS WAS RECENTLY FIXED BY THE RECALL IN AUG 2017, AND IT WENT OUT AGAIN. HE NEARLY WAS HIT DUE TO THE CAR VEERING WHEN HE WAS DRIVING. THIS NEEDS ADDRESSED AND FIXED AGAIN!! HE CANNOT AFFORD TO PAY $1500+ TO GET THIS FIXED AGAIN!
AS I WAS DRIVING HOME FROM WORK MY STEERING WHEEL BECAME EXTREMELY HARD TO TURN CAUSING ME TO BARELY MISS RUNNING INTO THE BACK OF A 18 WHEELER. LUCKILY I WASN'T FAR FROM MY DAUGHTERS HOUSE. THE POWER STEERING STOPPED WORKING SUDDENLY. THE ELECTRICAL SYSTEM IS FINE, NO FUSE ISSUES. THERE WAS A RECALL CONCERNING THIS ISSUE WITH ONLY A FEW OF THESE VEHICLES. THIS SHOULD NOT HAPPEN WHILE DRIVING ON THE INTERSTATE.
THE POWER STEERING ASSIST ERROR MESSAGE DISPLAYED UPON STARTING MY CAR. THE NEXT DAY THE SERVICE ADVANCETRAC ERROR MESSAGE ALSO APPEARED. I DID NOT HAVE ANY PRIOR ISSUES WITH THE POWER STEERING. THE FORD DEALERSHIP STATED THAT MY PARTICULAR CAR WAS NOR UNDER RECALL, SINCE I HAVE A 3.5L MOTOR. THE ADVISES ME THAT A NEW EPAS GEAR WAS NEEDED AND THE REPAIR WAS ESTIMATED TO BE ABOUT $2000.

POWER STEERING ASSIST FAULT INDICATOR. VEHICLE LOST POWER STEERING AND HAD TO BE PARKED. AFTER VEHICLE SAT FEW HOURS THE POWER STEERING RESET AND THE INDICATOR WAS OFF AND EVERYTHING BACK TO NORMAL. WIFE IS NOW AFRAID TO DRIVE VEHICLE IN CASE IT HAPPENS AGAIN.

I INFORMED MY FORD DEALER DURING AN AIR BAG RECALL THAT I WAS ALSO EXPERIENCING PROBLEMS WITH THE STEERING ON THE CAR. REGARDLESS IF THE CAR WAS MOVING OR STOPPED, TURNING THE STEERING FROM THE 12 O'CLOCK POSITION EITHER RIGHT OR LEFT, IT WOULD TRY TO "JUMP" TO THE 10 OR 2 O'CLOCK POSITION. IT WAS DISTURBING ENOUGH THAT MY WIFE WOULD NO LONGER DRIVE THE CAR. AFTER DIAGNOSIS, THE DEALER INFORMED ME THE PROBLEM WAS WITH THE POWER STEERING GEAR ASSEMBLY, THE REPAIR COST WOULD EXCEED 2000 DOLLARS. FORD HAS HAD SO MANY PROBLEMS WITH THE STEERING ON THESE CARS THAT THE NHTSA ISSUED A RECALL ON THIS A COUPLE OF YEARS AGO (15S18). THE PROBLEM IS SEVERE ENOUGH THAT FORD HAS EXTENDED THE WARRANTY FOR THE POWER STEERING ASSEMBLY TO 150,000 MILES (15N01) MY CAR HAS 82,000 MILES ON IT. THE WARRANTY ONLY WORKS IF CERTAIN DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODES POP UP DURING DIAGNOSIS. SINCE MY CAR DID NOT SUFFER A COMPLETE FAILURE I WAS NOT COVERED UNDER THE EXTENDED WARRANTY. IF YOU READ THROUGH THE NHTSA COMPLAINTS, MANY CONSUMERS HAD COMPLETE POWER STEERING FAILURES BUT ALSO DID NOT MEET FORDS REQUIREMENTS FOR WARRANTY REPAIR! IF YOU VIEW NHTSA COMPLAINT SECTION ON THE 2012 FUSION. THERE ARE A TOTAL OF 1601 COMPLAINTS AS IF THIS WRITING FOR THIS VEHICLE - ALMOST 50% DEAL WITH JUST THE STEERING! THE NHTSA HAS COMPLETELY LET FORD OFF THE HOOK ON THIS ISSUE. INSTEAD OF INSURING THE PUBLIC SAFETY, THE NHTSA HAS ALLOWED FORD TO CREATE A NEW INCOME STREAM. IS THE NHTSA WAITING FOR A FORD OWNER TO LOSE CONTROL OF THEIR CAR AND SLAM INTO A MINI VAN FULL OF KIDS BEFORE REQUIRING THE MANUFACTURE TO COMPLETELY RECTIFY THIS SAFETY HAZARD? REPROGRAMMING A CONTROL MODULE AND ALLOWING THE MANUFACTURE TO REFUSE TO PROVIDE EXTENDED WARRANTY REPAIRS IS NOT CUTTING IT.
