TOO HARD TO STEER AND TURN
THE VEHICLE WAS IN MOTION ON I 85 IN ALABAMA TRAVELING APPROXIMATELY 70MILES PER HOUR.I NOTICED THE VEHICLE STARTED JERKING,THE SPEEDOMETER STARTED FLUCTUATING, UNTIL I LOST SPEED CONTROL.THE WRENCH LIGHT WAS ON. MY VEHICLE HAD 70,000 MILES;DRIVEN APPROXIMATELY 20 MILES A DAY. I MADE THE DECISION TO TURN AROUND AND GO HOME DRIVING IN THE RIGHT LANE WITH NO SPEEDOMETER OR A SPEEDOMETER THAT WOULD START FLUCTUATING WHILE MY CAR WAS JERKING. I TOOK THE VEHICLE TO MY LOCAL FORD DEALER.THE DIAGNOSTIC CODES WERE 070/071/072.THEY TOLD ME NO WARRANTY AND IT WOULD BE $1,000 TO FIX THE TRANSMISSION SPEED SENSOR. UNFORTUNATELY I DID NOT HAVE $1000 TO FIX THE PROBLEM. MY CAR OPERATED OK UNTIL A FEW DAYS WHEN IT STARTED JERKING,SPEEDOMETER FLUCTUATED UNTIL IT WENT TO READING 0 MPH. AT THIS TIME I WAS ON I 20 IN ATLANTA. THIS TIME I WAS AFRAID OF BEING REAR ENDED WHEN I WAS STOPPED AT A TRAFFIC LIGHT DUE TO NOT PICKING UP ENOUGH SPEED. I FEEL THIS IS A SERIOUS SAFETY ISSUE AND FORD SHOULD BE REQUIRED TO REPLACE TRANSMISSION SPEED SENSORS. CASE IN POINT CONCERNING FORD DEALER QUOTING $1000-I FOUND SOMEONE TO REPAIR FOR UNDER $100. I WOULD HAVE BEEN ABLE TO FIX MY CAR THE PREVIOUS YEAR. DEALER SAID THEY WOULD HAVE TO SPEND 4 PLUS HOURS LABOR DUE TO WHERE THE TRANSMISSION SPEED SENSOR IS LOCATED. PERSON FIXING MY CAR SAID THE TRANSMISSION SPEED SENSOR IS EXTERNAL EASILY ACCESSIBLE. I'M VERY DISAPPOINTED IN FORD AND THE DEALER IN THIS VERY SCARY ISSUE.
CLIENT APPROACHED AN INTERSECTION WITH A LEFT TURN, APPLIED THE BRAKES. THEY WENT TO THE FLOOR, VEHICLE NEVER STOPPED OR SLOWED DOWN UNTIL RUNNING THROUGH A SIGN, INTO AN EMBANKMENT. CLIENT WAS SEVERELY INJURED AS A RESULT. VEHICLE WAS A TOTAL LOSS. VEHICLE IS CURRENTLY STORED AT A TOW YARD. WE HAVE 30 DAYS TO GET THE VEHICLE INSPECTED BY THE NHTSA. CV AXLE JOINT WENT OUT WHILE DRIVING IN CONSTRUCTION.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNED A 2012 FORD FUSION. WHILE DRIVING AT AN UNKNOWN SPEED, THE VEHICLE FAILED TO STOP WHEN THE BRAKE PEDAL WAS DEPRESSED. THE CONTACT'S DAUGHTER STATED THAT THE BRAKE PEDAL FELT SOFT. AS A RESULT OF THE FAILURE, THE CONTACT'S DAUGHTER REAR ENDED ANOTHER VEHICLE. THERE WERE NO INJURIES AND A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED FROM THE SCENE TO A SALVAGE YARD WHERE IT WAS DEEMED DESTROYED. THE DEALER AND MANUFACTURER WERE NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 85,000.
STEERING WHEEL LOCKED DOWN IN MY FRONT YARD, RIGHT FRONT LIGHT WENT OUT I WAS TOLD IT WAS A ELECTRICAL PROBLEM AND NOW IT IS THE PASSENGER AIRBAG NOW I AM AFRAID TO DRIVE THE CAR LONG DISTANCE
CAR STALLED WITHOUT ANY WARNING. THEN IT STARTED IMMEDIATELY. NEXT DAY STARTED, THEN STALLED IMMEDIATELY AND WOULD NOT START. THE FIRST TIME WE WERE ON TRAFFIC CIRCLE, AND SECOND TIME IN GARAGE
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2012 FORD FUSION. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE EPS FAILED WITHIN TWO MONTHS OF BEING REPAIRED PER AN UNKNOWN MANUFACTURER RECALL. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE EPS WARNING INDICATOR FLASHED, BUT THEN REMAINED ILLUMINATED AND THE STEERING WHEEL SEIZED. THE DEALER (LANCE CUNNINGHAM FORD, 4101 EAST CLINTON HIGHWAY, KNOXVILLE, TN 37912, 865-687-2100) REFUSED TO PROVIDE A PERMANENT REMEDY. THE CONTACT INFORMED THE DEALER AND THE MANUFACTURER THAT THE RECALL REMEDY FAILED TO PROVIDE A SOLUTION AND THE VEHICLE WOULD NEED TO BE DIAGNOSED AND REPAIRED. THE CONTACT ALSO INFORMED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS NOT INCLUDED IN A 12,000 MILE WARRANTY. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS NOT AVAILABLE.
WENT TO OPEN MY DOOR TO GET OUT OF MY CAR & OUT OF NOWHERE THE DOOR HANDLE WOULD NOT WORK. TO GET OUT OF MY CAR RIGHT NOW I NEED TO PUT DOWN THE WINDOW & REACH OUT TO OPEN WITH OUTSIDE HANDLE OR GET OUT PASSENGER SIDE DUE TO COLD TEMPERATURES & NOT BEING ABLE TO PUT THE WINDOW DOWN. IT'S REALLY INCONVENIENT. I HAVE SEEN WHERE OTHER VEHICLES HAVE HAD RECALLS WITH SIMILAR PROBLEMS.
THE POWER STEERING ASSIST FAULT MESSAGE APPEARED IN THE ODOMETER DISPLAY. THIS COULD NOT BE RESET BY TURNING OFF THE IGNITION FOR 10 SECONDS AND TURNING ON THE IGNITION AGAIN. THIS MESSAGE HAS BEEN INTERMITTENT FOR 6 MONTHS. IT WOULD APPEAR OFTEN WITH FIRST START UP ON RAINY AND RAINY ON COLD DAYS. NEVER OCCURRED WHILE DRIVING. I DROVE THE CAR TO A LOCAL REPAIR SHOP. THE STEERING TAKES A GREAT EFFORT TO TURN THE WHEEL. HAD A NEAR MISS ACCIDENT WITH WOOD TRASH ON THE HIGHWAY. THE REPAIR SHOP SAID THIS COULD BE COVERED BY AN EXTENDED RECALL. THE FORD DEALERS WE CALLED SAID THEIR SYSTEM WAS DOWN NOT ABLE TO CHECK VIN FOR RECALL. IT HAS ABOUT 83000 MILES AND 6 YEARS OLD. THE STEERING FAILURE IS A SIGNIFICANT SAFETY DEFECT. I'VE DRIVEN CARS BEFORE WITHOUT POWER STEERING - EASY COMPARED TO THIS FAIL. THIS FAILURE IS EXTREMELY UNSETTLING FEELING WHEN TRYING TO MAKE A CURVE OR TURN. CHECK BACK LATER TO SEE IF FORD REPAIRED THIS.
ERROR CODE C1277 POWER STEERING FAILURE. DRIVING DOWN THE HWY POWER STEERING FAILURE LIGHT/WARNING COMES ON AND POWER STEERING GOES OUT. TOOK EVERYTHING IN MY POWER TO KEEP THE CAR BETWEEN THE LINES. THIS IS VERY UNSAFE FOR IT MAKES THE VEHICLE VERY UNSAFE TO DRIVE.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2012 FORD FUSION. WHILE ATTEMPTING TO START THE VEHICLE, THE STEERING WHEEL SEIZED AND WAS DIFFICULT TO TURN IN EITHER DIRECTION. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A DEALER (MILNES FORD, 333 EAST GENESSE STREET, LAPEER, MI 48446, (810) 667-5000) WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE STEERING MODULE NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 141,000.
THE THROTTLE STUCK (2ND TIME, BOTH TIMES SIMILAR) RECENT EXPERIENCE:03/20/2018: LOCATION: ENTRANCE RAMP PA TURNPIKE AT SOMERSET EXIT. THE TURNPIKE TRAFFIC WAS MOVING EXTREMELY SLOWLY DUE TO WEATHER\ACCIDENT (ESTIMATE 15 25 MPH). I HAD PURPOSELY HUNG WAY BACK (100 - 150 FT) OF CAR AHEAD OF ME AS DRIVER DID NOT SEEM EXPERIENCED OR CONFIDENT. AFTER THINKING THAT THE VEHICLE IN FRONT WAS GOING TO MAKE ITS MERGE, I STARTED ACCELERATING UP TO THE THEN TURNPIKE TRAFFIC SPEED. THE CAR IN FRONT THOUGH DID NOT MERGE BUT STOPPED INSTEAD. I THEN NEEDED TO SLOW DOWN OR STOP. WHEN ATTEMPTING TO SLOW DOWN, MY CAR DID NOT WANT TO SLOW DOWN, THROTTLE SEEMED STUCK. I THEN STARTED PRESSING THE BRAKE PEDAL WITH BOTH FEET AS HARD AS I COULD. THOUGH MY CAR DID STOP BEFORE HITTING THE VEHICLE IN FRONT, IT WAS AN EXTREMELY TENSE EXPERIENCE. PREVIOUSLY, A COUPLE YEARS AGO, I HAD A SIMILAR EXPERIENCE. I DID NOT REPORT AT THAT TIME. IN THAT EXPERIENCE, I WAS APPROACHING AN INTERSECTION IN THE CITY OF ERIE. MY APPROACH WAS ON A SLIGHT UPHILL. THE LIGHT CHANGED FROM GREEN TO RED AND I WENT TO STOP. AGAIN, IT SEEMED AS THOUGH THE THROTTLE STUCK. AS IT WAS ON AN UPHILL I WAS EXPECTING TO USE LITTLE OR NO BRAKE. MY CAR THOUGH KEPT AT SPEED. AGAIN, I JUMPED ON THE BRAKE PEDAL WITH BOTH FEET AS HARD AS I COULD. IN THIS CASE, I DID LIGHTLY STRIKE THE BACK OF A VEHICLE THAT STOPPED AHEAD OF ME AT THE TRAFFIC SIGNAL. THE CAR I HIT DID NOT RECEIVE ANY DAMAGE. MY CAR THOUGH HAD A GRILL PIECE PUNCTURE THE AIR CONDITIONER ITEM THAT HOLDS ITS LIQUID.

THIS IS THE THIRD TIME MY STEERING HAS LOCKED UP ON MY CAR WHILE DRIVING. THIS IS A BIG SAFETY HAZARD! THIS PART ON FORD FUSIONS WAS RECALLED A COUPLE YEARS BACK AND THIS PART IHAVE BEEN FIXED BY FORD DEALERSHIPS MULTIPLE TIMES. IF A PART IS UNDER RECALL AND FIXED WHY DO I HAVE T CONTINUE TO KEEP GETTING THE SAME ISSUE FIXED!
DRIVER SIDE DOOR WILL NOT OPEN FROM THE INSIDE OR THE OUTSIDE. I FEAR THAT IF IN A COLLISION, I COULD NOT ESCAPE. I SEE THERE WAS A RECALL ON THE 2013- 2015. I FEEL THAT FORD SHOULD CORRECT THIS DEFICIENCY ON MY VEHICLE. THIS IS WHEN VEHICLE IS STATION AND MOVING. TAKATA RECALL I RECEIVED MY RECALL NOTIFICATION LETTER FROM FORD APPROXIMATELY A YEAR AGO. WHEN I SPOKE WITH KEN GRODY FORD IN CARLSBAD, CA, I WAS TOLD THEY AREN'T GOING TO REPLACE PASSENGER AIRBAG AS I DO NOT RESIDE IN HIGH HUMIDITY AREA. I RECENTLY ASKED AGAIN AND WAS INFORMED BY KEN GRODY FORD THESE PARTS WILL NEVER BE AVAILABLE; THEREFORE, IT WILL NOT BE REPLACED.
COMPLETE LOSS OF POWER STEERING ON THE HIGHWAY. ALMOST CAUSED A SEVERE, DEADLY ACCIDENT. WAS ABLE TO PULL THE CAR OVER AND GET TOWED HOME. HAD A MECHANIC CHECK IT OUT AND EVERYTHING LOOKS FINE, STARTED UP AND POWER STEERING HAS RETURNED. I AM TOO AFRAID TO DRIVE MY VEHICLE NOW, SO I AM CARPOOLING TO WORK. PLEASE ISSUE A RECALL, MANY FUSIONS ARE HAVING THIS ISSUE, YET NO RECALL ON MY VIN! THAT IS WRONG. FORD IS AWARE OF THE PROBLEM.
I WAS DRIVING MY VEHICLE BACK HOME FROM THE MOVIES AND I HAD MY NEPHEWS WITH ME. THE MESSAGE CAME UP ON MY DASH SAYING 'SERVICE POWER STEERING NOW' IT WAS MIDNIGHT SO I WAS NOT ABLE TO CALL ANYONE TO SEE WHAT THE ISSUE WAS. THANKFULLY I MADE IT HOME AND DROPPED MY NEPHEWS OFF AT THEIR HOMES. THE NEXT DAY I WAS GETTING READY TO LEAVE TO WORK AND THE MESSAGE WAS STILL THERE AND I WAS NO LONGER ABLE TO TURN MY STEERING WHEEL. APPARENTLY THIS YEAR IS NOT COVERED UNDER THE RECALL OF OTHER FORD VEHICLES WITH THE SAME ISSUE.

THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE AND REFERRED THE CONTACT TO NHTSA. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS UNKNOWN.
VEHICLE WAS IN PARK, IGNITION TURNED OFF. THE DRIVER'S SIDE DOOR WOULD NOT OPEN. HAD TO ROLL DOWN THE WINDOW TO OPEN THE DOOR WITH THE OUTSIDE DOOR LATCH. TOOK TO FORD DEALER, GROSS MOTORS IN SPENCER, WI. THEY REPLACED BROKEN PART IN LATCH ASSEMBLY, COST $100. VEHICLE HAS 55,000 MILES.

TAKATA RECALL. THE MOST RECENT MOTOR TREND MAGAZINE SAID THAT FORD IS REQUIRED TO FIX THIS NOW-PAGE 12. I CALLED THE DEALER AND TALKED TO THE DEALER SUPERVISOR AND HE SAID THEY DON'T HAVE THE PART. MY WIFE WILL NOT EVEN DRIVE THIS CAR NOW. I AM AT A LOSS AT WHAT TO DO I WOULD LIKE THEM TO UNINSTALL THE AIRBAG TO ELIMINATE THE DANGER. THEY SAID THEY COULD NOT DO THAT. THE DEALER IS FIVE STAR FORD IN PLANO, TX. MOTOR TREND SAID TO CONTACT YOU, FORD AND THE BETTER BUSINESS BUREAU. MY CAR HAS BEEN ON THE RECALL LIST FOR SEVERAL MONTHS.

ON 2/27, WHEN I TRIED TO OPEN THE DRIVER'S DOOR TO GET OUT OF MY CAR, THE DOOR WOULD NOT OPEN. I TRIED UNLOCKING IT TO NO AVAIL. I HAD TO ROLL DOWN THE WINDOW AND USE THE OUTSIDE DOOR HANDLE TO GET OUT. (CAR WAS PARKED IN A PARKING LOT) WHEN I TOOK IT TO THE DEALER FOR REPAIR, I WAS TOLD EXTENDED WARRANTY DOES NOT COVER REPAIR, AS THERE IS NO RECALL AND IT IS NOT A MECHANICAL FAILURE, READ YOUR CONTRACT. SO APPARENTLY SAFETY IS NOT AN ISSUE TO THE FORD DEALERSHIP SERVICE DEPARTMENT.

THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED. THE CONTACT HAD NOT EXPERIENCED A FAILURE. VIN TOOL CONFIRMS PARTS NOT AVAILABLE.
WHEN TRYING TO GET OUT OF MY CAR, THE DOOR WOULDN'T OPEN. THE DOOR WAS STILL LATCHED, BUT I TRIED TO CONTINUE DRIVING TO THE NEAREST AUTO SHOP. I HAVE CHECKED ONLINE AND WITH MULTIPLE FORD REPAIR DEPARTMENTS AND HAVE BEEN TOLD THEY DO NOT HAVE ANY SOLUTION OR PARTS FOR THIS RECALL. THE RECALL IS FOR 'EPAS STEERING EFFORTS' THIS RECALL WAS PERFORMED ONCE ON MY CAR ALREADY BACK IN 2015, HOWEVER THE DEALERSHIP ONLY REPROGRAM THE MODULE. THEY NEVER THE DEFECTIVE PARTS, WHICH MEANS THEY ONLY HALF DID THE JOB. NOW MY CAR ACTUALLY HAS POWER STEERING FAILURE AND THE SAME ERROR IS COMING UP ON THE DASH. I REACHED OUT TO THE DEALERSHIP AND THEY TOLD ME THAT I WOULD BE RESPONSIBLE FOR THE COST AND THAT THE REPAIR IS OUT OF WARRANTY AND THE RECALL IS CLOSED. HE CLEANED OUT THE THROTTLE BECAUSE THAT WHAT HE THOUGHT WOULD FIX IT AND CLEARED THE CODE. THE PROBLEM HAPPENED AGAIN AND WE THEN RESEARCHED ONLINE AND FOUND THAT THIS IS A MAJOR ISSUE WITH FORD OWNERS. HOWEVER, FORD HAS CLAIMED THAT THIS IS NOT A HAZARD SO HAS NOT DECLARED A RECALL, BUT HAS EXTENDED A WARRANTY FOR THE PART. UNFORTUNATELY, SINCE OUR CODE WAS CLEARED OUR FORD DEALERSHIP WILL NOT FIX THIS UNDER WARRANTY EVEN AFTER GIVING THEM THE CODE THAT POPPED UP. AFTER THEY LOOKED AT IT THEY SAID THE PART THAT BROKE WAS PART OF A RECALL (15S18) THAT WAS FIXED A YEAR PREVIOUSLY AND THAT IT BROKE AGAIN. SHE WAS TOLD THE PART WOULD HAVE TO BE REPLACED AGAIN BUT IT WOULD COST $1613, NOT COVERED UNDER THE RECALL.
