THE CONTACT HAD NOT EXPERIENCED A FAILURE. VIN TOOL CONFIRMS PARTS NOT AVAILABLE.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2012 FORD FUSION. UPON RECENTLY OWNING THE VEHICLE, IT WAS DETERMINED THAT THERE WAS INTERNAL ELECTRICAL FAILURE WITH THE WIRES. THE WIRES BURNED INTERNALLY NEAR THE VENT CONTROLS FOR THE AIR CONDITIONING OR HEATING. THE CONTACT NOTICED THAT SMOKE EMITTED INTO THE VENTS AS THE FAILURE PROGRESSED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A REPAIR SHOP FOR DIAGNOSTIC TESTING. THE VEHICLE WAS ALSO INSPECTED BY AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC. THE VIN WAS INCLUDED IN NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 15V340000 (STEERING), BUT THE CONTACT WAS NOT NOTIFIED BY THE INDEPENDENT DEALER FROM WHERE THE VEHICLE WAS PURCHASED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS NOT AVAILABLE.
MY 2012 FORD FUSION WITH 36K MILES LOSES ACCELERATION AND IDLES ROUGH UNTIL IT IS SHUT OFF AND RE-STARTED. A WRENCH SYMBOL IS DISPLAYED WHEN THIS HAPPENS. NO CHECK ENGINE LIGHT IS DISPLAYED. DOES NOT MATTER AT WHAT SPEED. VERY DANGEROUS WHEN ON INTERSTATE HWY. A CAR THAT LOSES POWER IN 2016? UNACCEPTABLE, UNFORGETTABLE AND UNFORGIVING.
WHILE TRYING TO REVERSE OUT OF MY DRIVEWAY, THE "POWER STEERING ASSIST FAULT: SERVICE IMMEDIATELY " MESSAGE CAME ON, AND IT WAS VERY HARD FOR ME TO TURN THE STEERING WHEEL. BY NOT BEING ABLE TO DRIVE IT COMPLETELY...I JUST DROVE IT BACK IN THE DRIVEWAY WHICH WAS VERY DIFFICULT DUE TO ME HAVING TO TURN THE WHEEL. I DID TAKE IT TO THE FORD DEALERSHIP, AND I WAS TOLD THAT I NEED A STEERING GEAR ASSEMBLY. I WAS TOLD THAT RESETTING THE CODES WOULD NOT WORK. I DID INFORM THE WORKER ABOUT THAT PART BEING RECALLED FOR MY VEHICLE, BUT HE DENIED ANY TYPE OF RECALL FOR THIS PARTICULAR VEHICLE. I HAVE ONLY HAD THIS CAR FOR TWO YEARS, AND THIS HAPPEN OUT OF THE BLUE. IF THERE WAS A RECALL FOR THIS PART ON THIS PARTICULAR MODEL...I DESERVE TO GET IT FIXED, FREE OF CHARGE AS STATED IN THE NHTSA. THEY ARE TRYING TO CHARGE ME $1, 944.50 TO REPLACE THIS. I JUST NEED TO KNOW IF THIS PART WAS RECALLED.

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER, BUT WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE VIN WAS NOT INCLUDED IN NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 15V340000 (STEERING). THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 124,000.
THE STEERING WENT OUT WHILE DIVING( HIGH AND LOW SPEED). CALLED THE DEALER SAID NOT UNDER WARRANTY.
BOTH THE FRONT LEFT AND RIGHT SWAY BARS HAVE COME LOOSE CAUSING SIGNIFICANT DAMAGE RESULTING IN BOTH COMPONENTS NEEDING TO BE REPLACED AFTER 51,700 MILES. THIS IS A CAR HAS MET ALL REGULAR MAINTENANCE SCHEDULES AND IS WELL CARED FOR.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2012 FORD FUSION. WHENEVER THE CONTACT REVERSED THE VEHICLE, THE STEERING WHEEL WOULD FAIL THE NEXT DAY. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A DEALER WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE POWER STEERING CONTROL MODULE FRACTURED AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 62,000...UPDATED 01/05/17 *BF CONSUMER STATED 393,000 CARS WERE RECALLED FOR THIS SAME PROBLEM. THEY WERE THE SAME YEAR, SAME MODEL, SAME PROBLEM WERE COVERED UNDER RECALL 15V340000 AND MY CAR HAD THE SAME PROBLEM BUT FORD MOTOR COMPANY WOULD NOT COVER MY CAR. UPDATED 9/5/18*JB
THE INTERIOR DOOR HANDLE AFTER NORMAL USE CAN BREAK, LEAVING OCCUPANT STUCK IN VEHICLE IF UNABLE TO CLIMB TO ANOTHER SEAT OR ROLL WINDOW DOWN TO OPEN DOOR WITH OUTSIDE HANDLE.
2012 FORD FUSION RECALL WHEN COMING TO A STOP SIGN, I WENT TO PUT MY FOOT ON THE BRAKES AND MY STEERING PULLED TO THE RIGHT AND I COULD NOT STEER THE CAR AND THE BRAKE PEDAL WENT STRAIGHT TO THE FLOOR. THERE IS NO BROKEN BRAKE LINES. WHEN THIS HAPPEN IT STEERED ME INTO ANOTHER CAR THAT WAS PARKED ON THE STREET. AFTER THE ACCIDENT I DID A SAFETY RECALL THROUGH CAR MAX AND FOUND OUT THAT THERE IS A SAFETY RECALL 15N01 AND 13N03, WHICH SHOWED THAT THEY WERE NOT DONE. SO I WENT TO THE DEALER SHIP THAT I BROUGHT THE CAR FROM 6 MONTHS AGO AND THEY SAID NO THEY DID NOT DO THE RECALL ONLY RE-PROGRAMMED THE CAR 15S18B. I TRIED CALLING FORD DIRECTLY BUT THEY SAID THAT THERE IS NOTHING THAT THEY WILL DO ABOUT IT. EVEN AFTER ASKING THE QUESTION HOW CAN YOU JUST RE-PROGRAM MEDAL AND STEERING COMPONENTS? STILL YET I HAVE NO ANSWERS FROM ANYONE.

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A DEALER WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE STEERING GEAR ASSEMBLY FAILED AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE POWER STEERING HAS FAILED TWICE IN LESS THAN ONE YEAR. ONCE WHILE TURNING LEFT ACROSS ONCOMING TRAFFIC RESULTING IN A NEAR MISS HEAD-ON COLLISION. FORD HAS A RECALL ON THE ELECTRONIC POWER ASSISTED STEERING (EPAS), WHICH IS WHAT FAILS (NHTSA RECALL 15V-340), BUT IT IS ONLY FOR FUSIONS MANUFACTURED BETWEEN SEPT 2010 AND FEB 2012. MY VEHICLE WAS MANUFACTURED IN MAY 2012 - 3 MONTHS TOO LATE - IN THE VERY SAME FACILITY AS THE CARS INCLUDED IN THE RECALL. THE PROBLEMS I AM EXPERIENCING WITH MY CAR ARE EXACTLY AS THOSE DESCRIBED IN THE FINDINGS REPORTED IN THE NHTSA INVESTIGATION. I PAID $1,400 TO HAVE THE EPAS REPLACED THE FIRST TIME IN DEC 2015, AND I SHOULD NOT HAVE TO PAY THAT AMOUNT TO HAVE IT REPLACED A SECOND TIME IN LESS THAN A YEAR. THE FORD DEALERSHIP QUOTED ALMOST TWICE THAT AMOUNT. THE RECALL OBVIOUSLY NEEDS TO BE EXTENDED.
ENGINE STALLS WITHOUT WARNING
THE DRIVER'S INSIDE DOOR HANDLE STOP FUNCTIONING CAUSING AN INABILITY TO EXIT THE VEHICLE WITHOUT FIRST ROLLING DOWN THE WINDOW, REACHING OUTSIDE AND OPENING THE DOOR WHILE STILL IN THE VEHICLE. DRIVER WOULD NOT HAVE BEEN ABLE TO QUICKLY EXIT THE VEHICLE IN THE EVENT OF AN EMERGENCY. THIS IS NOT A DEFECT SECONDARY TO ANY EVENT.. THE DEALERSHIP STATED THIS WAS A KNOW PROBLEM WITH THE FUSION AND HAD ACTUALLY ORDERED 3500 PARTS TO REPAIR VEHICLE WHEN PEOPLE BROUGHT THEM IN FOR REPAIR.
WHILE TURNING YESTERDAY, MY CAR LOST POWER STEERING. THE LIGHT FOR ADVANCE TRACK SYSTEM LIGHT ILLUMINATED AND THE MESSAGE CENTER READ "POWER STEERING ASSIST FAULT: SERVICE IMMEDIATELY." I MAN HANDLED THE CAR HOME A SHORT DISTANCE AND TURNED IT OFF. MAD AND AGGRAVATED I CALLED THE FORD DEALER AND EXPLAINED WHAT HAPPENED. THE CHECKED WARRANTY INFO, RECALL INFO, AND FOUND NOTHING FOR MY CAR. I WAS ABLE TO FIND A RECALL ALERT THAT MY INSURANCE COMPANY MATCHES TO MY CAR. I GAVE THE RECALL NUMBER TO THE FORD DEALER. THEY WERE VERY NICE AND WERE ABLE TO FIND OUT THE WARRANTY ONLY COVERS CARS BUILT SEPT 2010- FEBRUARY 2012. GUESS WHAT? MY CAR WAS BUILT JUNE 2012. I CALLED FORD CUSTOMER CARE. THEY SAY I HAVE TO TAKE IT INTO THE DEALER TO BE DIAGNOSED. I CALL DEALERSHIP AND HAVE IT "OFFICIALLY" DIAGNOSED. THE MOTOR CODE U0211:49 AND DEALERSHIP SUGGESTS CALLING CUSTOMER CARE TO GET A VALIDATION CODE. I CALLED CUSTOMER CARE AGAIN, LADY WAS RUDE, SAYS SHE DOESN'T KNOW WHAT A VALIDATION CODE IS AND THAT I WOULD HAVE TO PAY FOR IT BECAUSE THE RECALL IS NOT ON MY CAR PARTICULARLY. MY CAR ONLY HAS 48K MILES ON IT. I SHOULD NOT BE HAVING THESE KIND OF PROBLEMS. IT IS A HUGE SAFTEY ISSUE FOR ME AS I TRAVEL QUITE A BIT WITH MY FAMILY. THE CODE MATCHES THE SAME CODE THAT IS PIN POINTED IN THE RECALL ACCORDING TO DEALERSHIP. THE BEST CUSTOMER CARE COULD DO IS TELL ME TO KEEP RECEIPTS IN CASE FORD EXPANDS RECALL LATER.....ITS $1800+ OUT OF POCKET THAT I CAN'T CRAP OUT!!
WHILE DRIVING ON A CITY STREET CAR STALLS AND SHAKE THIS HAPPENED FOUR TIMES WITHIN TWO MONTHS, HAD IT DIAGNOSED AT A LOCAL SHOP NO CODE READING WAS DISCOVER.
ON COLD STARTS THIS SUMMER I BACK OUT OF MY DRIVEWAY AND PRESS THE BRAKES TO STOP AND THE BRAKE PEDAL IS ROCK HARD AND I CAN'T STOP. THIS IS GOING TO BE MY THIRD TIME FOR THIS PROBLEM. THE DEALERSHIP HAS REPLACED THE BRAKE BOOSTER, MASTER CYLINDER, BRAKE FLUID RESERVOIR AND BRAKE BOOSTER CHECK VALVE AND VACUUM HOSE.
I STARTED MY CAR, SERVICE POWER STEERING WARNING CAME ON, DROVE 10 MILES AND POWER STEERING WENT OUT. LOOKED ONLINE AND SAW A RECALL FOR ELECTRIC POWER ASSIST SYSTEM, SO I CALLED THE DEALERSHIP I PURCHASED THE CAR FROM AND THEY TOLD ME MY CAR IS NOT COVERED UNDER THAT RECALL.

WHEN THE VEHICLE STALLED, IT LOST STEERING AND BRAKING ABILITY. THE DEALER FAILED TO DUPLICATE THE FAILURE. THE CONTACT MENTIONED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS INCLUDED IN A PREVIOUS TSB; HOWEVER, THE TSB INFORMATION WAS NOT AVAILABLE NOR FOUND IN THE SYSTEM. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 85,000.
WHILE DRIVING MY CAR ANY WHERE CITY STREET OR THE HIGHWAY, IT WILL STALL OUT OR CUT OFF WITH OUT ANY WARNING AT ALL. IT HAS HAPPEN TEN TIMES IN THE LAST TWO MONTHS. ALL MOST WAS REAR ENDED BECAUSE OF THIS PROBLEM THREE TIME CLOSE CALLS. HAVE TAKING CAR AND HAD IT PLUG IN FOR ELECTRONIC CHECK BUT NO CODE SHOWS UP . THIS PROBLEM NEEDS TO BE ADDRESSED I HAVE READ ON LINE OF A LOT OF OTHER FORD FUSION OWNERS HAVING THE SAME COMPLAINT. THIS VERY DANGEROUS PROBLEM AND SHOULD BE ADDRESSED . FORD DEALERS JUST WANT TO THOUGH PARTS AT THIS PROBLEM BUT THEY WILL NOT OR CAN NOT TELL ME WHAT THE REAL CALLS OF THIS DANGEROUS PROBLEM IS. I SURE HOPE WITH YOUR HELP ALL THE FORD FUSION OWNERS CAN GET THIS RESOLVED BEFORE SOME ONE GET KILLED.

THROTTLE BODY. I LOOKED IT UP AND FOUND A "RECALL" SITUATION?

THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO A MECHANIC WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE FUEL PUMP NEEDED TO BE CHANGED. THE FAILURE RECURRED AND ANOTHER MECHANIC DIAGNOSED THAT THE FUEL CONTROL MODULE NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 78,000.

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE STEERING RACK AND PINION NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE VIN WAS NOT INCLUDED IN NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 15V340000 (STEERING). THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 105,000.
DRIVING OVER 65 MPH ON INTERSTATE AND CAR LOSES POWER GOING IN TO LIMP MODE. CARS START HONKING AT ME AS I AM SLOWING IN FRONT OF THEM AND ALMOST CAUSE ACCIDENT, TAKE TO FORD DEALERSHIP AFTER READING INFO ON RECALL. THEY REPLACE THROTTLE BODY. HAPPENS AGAIN DRIVING ON INTERSTATE SO TAKE BACK AND THEY GIVE ME ESTIMATE FOR $892.10 FOR $100 DIAGNOSTIC AND THE REST FOR VAPOR CANISTER PURGE SOLENOID AND VAPOR CANNISTER. FROM WHAT I READ THIS WILL NOT TAKE CARE OF PROBLEM SO DON'T KNOW WHERE TO GO NEXT. AFRAID TO DRIVE.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2012 FORD FUSION. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 30 MPH AND MAKING A RIGHT TURN, THE POWER STEERING FAILED AND THE STEERING WHEEL BECAME VERY DIFFICULT TO TURN. DURING THE FAILURE, THE "POWER STEERING ASSIST FAULT" WARNING MESSAGE DISPLAYED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THERE WAS A COMPUTER FAILURE AND IT NEEDED TO BE RESET. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED; HOWEVER, THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 64,000.
THIS CAR HAS A MAJOR PROBLEM WITH THE GAUGES THAT ALSO PREVENTS THE AIR CONDITIONING AND RADIO WORKING PROPERLY PLUS CERTAIN EXTERNAL LIGHTS AND DIRECTIONAL LIGHTS AS WELL AS THE HIGH BEAM INDICATOR. THIS IS GOING ON ALMOST A YEAR NOW AND THE GAUGES WILL "BLACK OUT" AS WELL SO YOU CANT SEE HOW FAST YOU ARE GOING OR OTHER FUNCTIONS. THIS SHOULD BE A MAJOR SAFETY CONCERN. I DO HAVE SOME VIDEO OF THE PROBLEM I WILL ATTACH. THIS HAPPENS ALL THE TIME IF THE CAR IS SITTING OR IN MOTION. FOR SOME REASON I CANT POST THE VIDEO OF THE PROBLEM BUT THERE ARE PLENTY OF THE SAME ONES ON YOU TUBE.
FAILURE OF INSIDE DOOR HANDLE TO FACILITATE OPENING OF DOOR WILL PROHIBIT TIMELY EGRESS OF VEHICLE IN THE EVENT OF AN EMERGENCY. BOTH THE DRIVER'S AND REAR PASSENGER'S INSIDE DOOR HANDLES HAVE BROKEN, RESULTING IN THE INABILITY TO OPEN THE DOORS FROM THE INSIDE. THESE FAILURES OCCURRED DURING NORMAL USE AFTER PARKING THE VEHICLE. THE DOORS OPENED LESS THAN AN INCH OUT OF THE LOCKED POSITION AT THE TIMES OF FAILURE. DUE TO THE BENCH SEAT NOT PROHIBITING EGRESS OUT THE OTHER REAR DOOR, THIS COMPLAINT WAS NOT ISSUED DURING THE REAR PASSENGER DOOR FAILURE. THE DRIVER'S DOOR HANDLE HAS JUST BROKEN.
POPPING NOISE PRESENT FROM STEERING WHEEL WHENEVER STEERING WHEEL IS TURNED IN EITHER DIRECTION. WHENEVER VEHICLE HITS A BUMP REGARDLESS OF THE SIZE, THE STEERING WHEEL IS YANKED AROUND CAUSING THE CONTROL OF THE VEHICLE TO BECOME COMPROMISED. THESE ISSUES HAPPEN AT ANY SPEED AND IN ALL ROAD CONDITIONS, STATIONARY OR NON STATIONARY, HIGHWAY OR CITY AND REGARDLESS IF I'M TURNING OR NOT. WHEN STEERING WHEEL IS TURNED ALL THE WAY TO THE RIGHT OR LEFT THE WHEEL WILL STIFFEN AND THROW ITSELF BACK THE OPPOSITE DIRECTION. MUST USE A LOT OF FORCE TO KEEP STEERING WHEEL IN THAT POSITION. WAS TOLD BY A CERTIFIED FORD DEALERSHIP AND A SHOP BY THE NAME OF MIDAS THAT IT WAS THE RACK AND PINION. FORD REFUSES TO FIX ISSUE DUE TO THE FACT THAT THE RACK AND PINION IS NOT THROWING ANY SORT OF TROUBLE CODE. THE RACK AND PINION ON THIS VEHICLE HOWEVER IS NOT ONLY UNDER A CURRENT RECALL BUT IS ALSO BACKED BY AN EXTENDED WARRANTY ISSUED BY FORD MOTOR COMPANY.
DRIVING ON THE 605 FWY WITH MY 5 YEAR OLD GOING ABOUT 65MPH WHEN MY CAR SUDDENLY LOST POWER AND A ORANGE WRENCH LIGHT APPEARED, I WAS ABLE TO PULL OFF TO THE SHOULDER WHEN MY CAR JERKED AND COMPLETELY SHUT DOWN. IT TOOK ME 3 TIMES TO GET IT STARTED ONLY TO HAVE THIS HAPPEN AGAIN ABOUT 2 MILES UP THE ROAD. I WAS ABLE TO SAFELY GET HOME BUT MY MECHANIC HAS ADVISED THAT I HAVE AN ERROR CODE P2111 AND MY THROTTLE BODY WILL NEED TO BE REPLACED. THIS IS EXTREMELY DANGEROUS AND I AM NOT A HAPPY FORD CUSTOMER. I WILL BE TAKING IN MY CAR TO THE DEALER TOMORROW IN HOPES THAT THEY WILL STAND BEHIND THIER PRODUCT AND REPLACE THIS PART.
TODAY FROM A STOP, TURNING RIGHT OUT OF PARKING LOT ON TO CITY STREET INTO RIGHT MOST LANE, DURING ACCELERATION IN TURN, POWER STEERING LOST; FOLLOWED IMMEDIATELY BY SEVERAL AUDIBLE WARNING TONES AND MESSAGE CENTER REPORTING SERVICE ADVANCETRAC AND SERVICE STEERING. WHILE CAUGHT OF GUARD, WAS ABLE WITH EFFORT TO STRAIGHTEN VEHICLE, AND RECOVER WITHOUT INCIDENT. AT NEXT LIGHT, PUT CAR IN PARK, TURNED VEHICLE OFF AND THEN BACK ON. IMMEDIATELY RECEIVED WARNING TONES AND MESSAGE CENTER REPORTING SERVICE ADVANCETRAC AND SERVICE POWER STEERING NOW. VEHICLE AS NO POWER ASSIST AND EFFORT IS HIGH TO STEER VEHICLE. NOT CLEAR HOW BOTH SYSTEMS "FAILED" AT SAME TIME. BUT LOSS OF SAFETY FEATURE FOR STABILITY CONTROL AND INCREASED EFFORT TO STEER REQUIRES MORE RESPONSE TIME FOR ROUTINE AND IF REQUIRED EVASIVE MANEUVERS TO AVOID A COLLISION. THE MILEAGE IS APPROXIMATELY 28,600 MILES, AND THIS IS THE FIRST ISSUES WITH THIS VEHICLE. LAST ROUTINE MAINTENANCE AND MULTI-POINT INSPECTION WAS COMPLETED AT 24,200 AT DEALER IN APRIL.

MY RIGHT REAR TAILLIGHT HAS BURNED, CAUSING THE BULB TO MELT IN THE SOCKET, POSSIBLE FIRE HAZARD I WOULD THINK. SOCKET & THE BULB HAVE BEEN REPLACED. BOTH THE FORD DEALERSHIP & RETAIL AUTO PARTS STORE, HAVE DENIED ANY KNOWLEDGE OF THIS ISSUE.
I WAS IN NEW ORLEANS FOR A FAMILY REUNION. LEAVING THE REUNION MY CAR WOULDN'T START. I HAD A FRIEND TO CHECK IT AND POWER WASN'T GOING TO THE PUMP. WE CHANGED THE FUEL PUMP ASSUMING THAT IT HAD WENT OUT AND CHANGE FUSES TOO. AFTER THAT THINKING THAT EVERYTHING WAS OK, WHILE DRIVING TO WORK IN MORNING TRAFFIC GOING 45 TO 50 MPH. THE CAR STOPPED, I COULDN'T GIVE IT GAS OR ANYTHING. I HAD TO HURRY UP AND TURN A BLOCK AND SIT IN THE MIDDLE LANE. I TRIED TURNING THE KEY IT TURNED BUT DIDN'T START. I CHECKED THE FUSE AND BATTERY AND THAT DIDN'T WORK. I STAYED IN CAR FOR ABOUT 15 MINUTES BEFORE IT STARTED AGAIN. AFTER STARTING IT I THOUGHT EVERYTHING WAS OK I WAS WRONG. HAD TO WORK AND TRIED STARTING CAR IT WAS DOING THE SAME THING. I HAD IT TOWED TO A AUTO PART PLACE TO GET DIAGNOSED AND THE RESULTS CAME BACK STATING IT WAS THE FUEL PUMP. I HAD IT TOWED BACK TO MY HOME AND HAD ANOTHER FUEL PUMP INSTALL AND IT CONTINUED DOING THE SAME THING. I HAD MY CAR TOWED BACK TO AUTO PART PLACE AND THEY SAID THAT THE CAR WOULD START BUT THE ELECTRIC WOULD STAY TO THE FUEL PUMP. PLEASE HELP!!! NOW I DON'T TRUST MY CAR ANYMORE.
POWER STEERING HAS SHUT DOWN WHILE THE VEHICLE WAS OPERATING MAKING IT VERY DIFFICULT, NEAR IMPOSSIBLE TO STEER. I HAD THE CAR SERVICED AT A FORD DEALER PER RECALL # 15V-340 PERFORMED ON 8/25/15 BUT THE ISSUE HAS RE-OCCURRED. IN BOTH INCIDENTS, THE VEHILCE WAS IN MOTION WITH THE POWER STEERING WENT OUT. THE PROBLEM WAS RESOLVED BY TURNING OFF THE IGNITION AND RESTARTING THE CAR.
TAKATA RECALL : THE WINDSHIELD WIPERS ON MY 2012 FORD FUSION DO NOT WORK FAST ENOUGH, EVEN ON THEIR HIGHEST SPEED, IN EVEN MODERATELY HEAVY RAIN. SO WHEN IT RAINS HARD OR I AM ON THE HIGHWAY IT MAKES IT IMPOSSIBLE TO DRIVE AND CAN BE VERY DANGEROUS TO DRIVE IN ANY WEATHER CONDITIONS OTHER THAN COMPLETE SUN.THE MOST RECENT OCCURRENCE OF DANGER I EXPERIENCED FROM THE SLOW WINDSHIELD WIPERS WAS IN GEORGIA ON THE INTERSTATE AND IT WAS RAINY AND TRYING TO GO AT LEAST 60MPH TO KEEP UP WITH TRAFFIC IT WAS ALMOST LIKE DRIVING BLIND. THIS NEEDS TO BE ADDRESSED BEFORE MYSELF, OR SOMEONE ELSE IS SERIOUSLY INJURED!
DRIVING MY VEHICLE WHEN THE POWER STEERING WENT COMPLETELY OUT IN TRAFFIC, MAKING A RIGHT TURN. VEHICLE STEERING WHEEL WOULD NOT BUDGE. IT'S A SAFETY ISSUE DRIVING AND THE STEERING WHEEL GIVES OUT WITHOUT ANY NOTICE.
POWER STEERING STOPPED INTERMITTENTLY WHILE DRIVING, AFTER RECEIVING A RECALL NOTICE, FORD REPLACED THE POWER STEERING GEAR ASSEMBLY IN JUNE 2016. IN AUGUST OF 2016 I WAS OUT OF TOWN AND THE POWER STEERING WENT OUT AGAIN. TOOK IT TO FORD DEALER OUT OF TOWN AND THEY REPLACED THE POWER STEERING ARMS AND WANT TO CHARGE ME $1000.

THE CONTACT RECEIVED THE RECALL NOTIFICATION IN AUGUST OF 2016. THE DEALER (COLLEY FORD, 1945 AUTO CENTRE DR, GLENDORA, CA 91740) STATED THAT THE PARTS WERE UNAVAILABLE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT CONTACTED. THE CONTACT HAD NOT EXPERIENCED A FAILURE. VIN TOOL CONFIRMS PARTS NOT AVAILABLE.
SO WITH IN THE PASS WEEK OF 8/8/2016 THRU 8/13/2016. I HAVE HAD A WRENCH LIGHT COME ON 3 DIFFERENT TIMES AND CAR ALMOST SHUT OFF, WHILE DRIVING DOWN THE STREET. SO PULL OVER AND SHUT OFF AND CRANK IT BACK UP AND GO ON. HOWEVER, ITS BECOMING A PROBLEM AND COME TO FIND OUT THIS MAYBE THROTTLE CONTROL/TRANSMISSION ISSUE. SOMEBODY GONNA GET HURT, CAUSE YOU NEVER KNOW WHEN IT GONNA CUT OUT ON YOU. ALSO BOTH DOOR LATCHES WILL NOT EITHER OPEN OR LOCK FROM THE INSIDE. CAUSING EXISTING ISSUE.
THE INSIDE DRIVERS SIDE DOOR LATCH DID NOT LOCK WHEN THE VEHICLE WAS IN MOTION (THE OTHER THREE DOOR LATCHES DID). I WAS DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 12 MPH ON A RESIDENTIAL STREET. THE DOOR LATCH REMAINS IN THE EXTENDED OPEN POSITION. THE DOOR CAN ONLY BE OPENED FROM THE OUTSIDE TO EXIT OR ENTER THE VEHICLE. THE DOOR CAN NOT BE LOCKED MANUALLY OR USING THE KEY FOB. I AM UNABLE TO EXIT THE VEHICLE NORMALLY. TO EXIT I HAVE TO ROLL DOWN THE WINDOW, OPEN THE DOOR FROM THE OUTSIDE, THEN IN ORDER TO ROLL THE WINDOW UP AGAIN I HAVE TO GET IN THROUGH ANOTHER DOOR, INSERT THE KEY AND REACH OVER TO THE DRIVERS SIDE. THESE ARE SAFETY ISSUES.
CAR WAS MAKING CLUNKING SOUND. WHEN I WAS DRIVING. TOOK IT IN AND WAS TOLD IT WAS THE ASSEMBLY STEERING SYSTEM GEAR. RACK AND PIN SYSTEM CAUSING THE CLUNKING IN GEAR. WAS TOLD MY MECHANIC THIS A HUGE SAFETY PROBLEM. WAS TOLD IT WASN'T SAFE TO DRIVE THE CAR BECAUSE IF I LOSE STEERING COULD LOSE CONTROL OF CAR AND IT COULD CAUSE INJURY TO ME MY FAMILY OR OTHER PEOPLE THAT ARE IN CARS THAT I MAY HIT IF I LOSE CONTROL OF THE VEHICLE. I CAN'T BELIEVE THERE ISN'T A RECALL FROM FORD FOR THIS PROBLEM ! I SAW THERE HAVE BEEN SEVERAL COMPLAINTS FOR SAME ISSUE.
WHILE DRIVING MY VEHICLE THE DRIVERS SIDE DOOR OPENED BY ITSELF AND THE DOOR WOULD NOT LATCH AFTER THIS OCCURED .
PULLING OUT OF MY DRIVEWAY AT LOW SPEED, THE STEERING LOCKED TO WHERE IT WAS NEARLY IMPOSSIBLE TO CONTROL THE VEHICLE. I WAS ABLE TO COME TO A STOP IMMEDIATELY SO NO DAMAGE OR INJURY. TURNING THE STEERING WHEEL REQUIRED A LOT OF EFFORT SO REVERSING BACK OFF THE STREET AND ONTO THE DRIVEWAY WAS QUITE DIFFICULT. AFTER PARKING, THE DASH ALSO BRIEFLY DISPLAYED SOMETHING LIKE "ADVANCETRACK ERROR". I DON'T REMEMBER THE WORDING EXACTLY.
HARSH SHIFTS BETWEEN 1-2 AND OR 2-3, FLARES WHEN ACCELERATING AT TIMES..... CLUTCHES SEEM TO BE SLIPPING INSIDE THE TRAMSMISSION AT TIMES DURING HARD ACCELERATION....HARSH DOWNSHIFTS... WHEN SLOWING DOWN FOR A TRAFFIC LIGHT BUT NOT COMING TO A COMPLETE STOP AND TRYING TO ACCELERATE THE CAR ACTS "BOGGY" WHEN THE AIR IS ON. IT SEEMS LIKE IT CAN'T DECIDE WHICH GEAR IT SHOULD BE IN.
WHILE SITTING STILL OR DRIVING THE STEERING WILL MAKE AN AUDIBLE "CLUNK" YOU CAN HEAR AND FEEL WHEN TURNING LEFT OR RIGHT FROM THE CENTERED POSITION. NO CODE PRESENT UPON FIRST TRIP TO DEALER WHO RECOMMENDED RACK AND PINION REPLACEMENT. THEY "UPDATED" THE SOFTWARE PER THE RECALL SPECS. SERVICE ADVANCETRAC WARNING CAME ON ABOUT A WEEK LATER AND DEALER SAID CODE C1278 APPEARED AND RECOMMENDED RACK AND PINION REPLACEMENT. SEEMS LIKE THIS SHOULD FALL UNDER THE RECALL OF THE RACK AND PINION, BUT THE SERVICE DEPT SAID IT DOESN'T.

THE CONTACT INDEPENDENTLY REPLACED THE BATTERY. AFTER THE BATTERY REPLACEMENT, THE STEERING WHEEL SEIZED COMPLETELY. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A DEALER WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE STEERING RACK NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 101,300.
