OVER THE PAST WEEK MY 2012 FORD FUSION DECELERATED, IDLED ROUGHLY, LOST POWER STEERING AND POWER BREAKING AND THE WRENCH DUMMY LIGHT CAME ON. ALL 4 TIMES IT OCCURRED BELOW 30 MPH IN CLEAR CONDITIONS. THE CAR IS EXTREMELY HARD TO HANDLE AND LUCKILY I WAS IN AREAS WHERE I COULD PULL OVER SAFELY. ONCE PULLED OVER I WAS ABLE TO RESTART THE CAR AND RESUME DRIVING. I HAVE BROUGHT IN MY CAR TWICE TO A LOCAL MECHANIC WHO COULD NOT FIND ANY ERROR MESSAGES ON THE COMPUTER. I HAVE AN APPOINTMENT AT THE LOCAL FORD DEALERSHIP TO DO MORE DIAGNOSTICS. I AM VERY CONCERNED ABOUT THE SAFETY OF THIS VEHICLE AND ITS RELIABILITY.
WHEN THE VEHICLE WAS IN MOTION, THE POWER STEERING ABRUPTLY STOPPED WORKING, DUE TO AN ELECTRICAL PROBLEM. OVER 400,000 FORD CARS WERE RECALLED FOR THIS PROBLEM, ALL MADE AT THE SAME LOCATION, DURING THE SAME TIME. OURS WAS NOT RECALLED, HOWEVER AND THEREFORE CREATED A VERY DANGEROUS SITUATION FOR US.
I WAS UNABLE TO UNLATCH THE DRIVER SIDE DOOR FROM INSIDE AFTER COMING TO A COMPLETE STOP NEITHER WITH ENGINE OFF NOR WITH KEY ON. I CONSIDER THIS A MAJOR SAFETY MALFUNCTION. THE LATCH NO LONGER WORKS FROM INSIDE.
I WAS DRIVING IN THE INTERSTATE WHEN ALL OF A SUDDEN MY POWER STEERING WENT. THE SERVICE LIGHT CAME ON AND READ ''SERVICE POWER STEERING NOW''. IT HAD NEVER DONE THAT BEFORE AND I ONLY HAD THE CAR FOR LESS THAN A YEAR. I JUST THANK GOD NO ONE WAS HURT. I TOOK MY CAR TO THE FORD DEALERSHIP AND THEY SAID THAT IT WAS NOT APART OF THE RECALL, BUT IN MY OPINION IF IT HAS BEEN A ISSUE FOR SEVERAL VEHICLE FIX ALL OF THEM. THEY SAID THE CAR WAS FINE BUT WHEN THE MECHANIC GOT IN MY CAR HE HAD A HARD TIME TURNING THE WHEEL.
JULY 15,2016 MY 2012 FORD FUSION, WITH 30,212 MILES JERKED AND STALLED. HAD TO COAST TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD. TO RESTART AND THE WRENCH LIGHT CAME ON. TOOK TO DEALER ON JULY 18 WAS TOLD IT SOUNDED LIKE THE EMISSION THROTTLE BUT HAVE TO RUN TEST I NEED TO PAY 115.00 THAT WOULD GO TOWARD THE REPAIR HAVE A EXTENDED WARRANTY BUT SHE STATES IT'S ON ME.

THE DRIVER SIDE DOOR LATCH AND LOCK ARE BROKE. YOU CANNOT OPEN THE CAR DOOR FROM THE INSIDE, YOU CAN ONLY OPEN IT BY ROLLING DOWN THE WINDOWS. SOMETIMES IT WONT SHUT PROPERLY AND SOMETIMES IT IS ALSO A STRUGGLE TO OPEN IT FROM THE OUTSIDE (AS IF THAT OPTION OF OPENING IT MIGHT BE GONE SOON). THE FIRST OCCURENCE HAPPENED WHILE I WAS IN A STATIONARY POSITION.
MY THROTTLE BODY IS GIVING ME ISSUES. IT WILL HESITATE AND REACT AS IF IT WILL STALL ON OCCASION WHEN I AM ON THE HIGHWAY, IT WILL JERK BADLY. NO ENGINE LIGHTS APPEAR ON MY DASH, HOWEVER I WAS NOTIFIED BY FORD THERE IS A REPLACEMENT EXTENDED WARRANTY, YET THAT EXTENSION DOES NOT COVER THE INITIAL CHARGE FROM THE DEALER TO CHECK THE THROTTLE BODY OUT, WHICH IS DEAD WRONG OF FORD. I BELIEVE THEY SHOULD COVER ANY AND ALL CHARGES REGARDING THIS THE THROTTLE BODY. IN ADDITION MY VEHICLES RACK AND PINION OR PWER STEERING SUEELS ALOT WHILE IN DRIVING, IVE CHECK FLUID LEVELS AND THEY ARE NORMAL, YET IT WILL MAKE ALOT OF NOISE.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2012 FORD FUSION. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 25 MPH, THE VEHICLE LOST STEERING POWER AND THE POWER STEERING WARNING LIGHT ILLUMINATED. THE CONTACT COASTED THE VEHICLE TO A NEARBY MALL. THE FAILURE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED AND DID NOT RECUR. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE AND STATED THAT THERE WOULD BE A CHARGE TO DIAGNOSE AND REPAIR THE VEHICLE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 69,000.
WHILE DRIVING CAR ABOUT 30 MPH AND BEGINNING A TURN, THE POWER STEERING WENT OUT ALMOST CAUSING ME TO HIT A TREE. I FEEL THIS IS AN UNSAFE CONDITION AND COULD CAUSE ACCIDENTS.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2012 FORD FUSION. WHILE THE VEHICLE WAS BEING DIAGNOSED, THE MECHANIC STATED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS IN NEED OF MAJOR REPAIR. THE DIAGNOSTIC PRODUCED FAILURE CODES: (DTCS) AND (P07AEN AND 0415) REGARDING THE CONTROL ARMS IN THE LOWER SUSPENSION. THE MECHANIC INFORMED THE CONTACT THAT THE FRONT SUSPENSION ARMS RIGHT AND LEFT NEEDED TO BE REPLACED AS SOON AS POSSIBLE. THE CONTACT TOOK THE VEHICLE TO THE DEALER BECAUSE THE VEHICLE WAS MAKING A LOUD ROARING AND CLICKING NOISE. THE CONTACT NO LONGER FELT SAFE DRIVING THE VEHICLE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 89,700.
TL* TAKATA RECALL. THE CONTACT OWNS A 2012 FORD FUSION. THE CONTACT RECEIVED AN INTERIM NOTIFICATION OF AN UNKNOWN MANUFACTURER RECALL CONCERNING THE AIR BAGS MONTHS AGO. THE DEALER (FAIRWAY FORD, 1350 E YORBA LINDA BLVD, PLACENTIA, CA 92870, (714) 579-3800) WAS NOT ABLE TO VERIFY WHEN THE MANUFACTURER WOULD SUPPLY THE PART TO THE DEALER. THE INTERIM RECALL NOTICE DID NOT GIVE A SPECIFIC DATE FOR WHEN THE REMEDY AND REPAIR PART WOULD BECOME AVAILABLE. THE CONTACT WAS UNABLE TO DETERMINE WHEN THE VEHICLE WOULD BE REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS CONTACTED TO DETERMINE IF THEY COULD PROVIDE A REASONABLE DATE FOR WHEN THE CONTACT'S VEHICLE WOULD RECEIVE THE RECALL REPAIR. THE CONTACT WAS NOT EXPERIENCING A FAILURE. I WAS IN A CAR ACCIDENT THE POWER STEERING FAILED I HIT A TELEPHONE POLE. THE IT BAGS NEVER DEPLOYED AND I SMACKED MY HEAD
MY AC BLOWER WOULD TURN ON AND OFF RANDOMLY FOR A FEW WEEKS THEN IT WOULD TURN MOSTLY OFF AND NOT KICK BACK ON. THE LAST TIME IT CAME ON FOR ABOUT 20 MINUTES AND SHUT OFF WHEN I WAS TRAVELING OVER 4 HOURS IN 118 DEGREE WEATHER. THEN I HAD IT CHECKED OUT. THEY SAID THAT MY BLOWER MOTOR WIRES WERE BURNING, HAD A SHORT. AFTER FURTHER INVESTIGATION FOUND THAT THE WIRES AND CONNECTOR WERE SEVERELY MELTING AND FUSING TOGETHER AND WAS CAUSING IT TO TURN OFF. HAD TO HAVE IT REPAIRED AS SOON AS POSSIBLE, AS THIS PROBLEM COULD CAUSE A FIRE.
THEY CONTACTED US ABOUT THE RECALL BUT PARTS ARE NOT AVAILABLE. WE HAVE DRIVING THIS CAR EVERYDAY CAUSE IT'S OUR ONLY WAY OF GOING WHEN IS IT GOING TO GET FIXED AND WHAT DO WE DO IF AN ACCIDENT OCCURS WITH THESE AIRBAGS BEING DEFECTIVE.
ENGINE FAILED AT STOPLIGHT WITH LOSS OF POWER STEERING ON 6/26/16. RESTART SUCCESSFUL. SUBSEQUENT MULTIPLE ENGINE FAILURE CHIMES OCCURRED. DEALER "REPAIRED WIRING". SEVERAL HUNDRED MILES SINCE, NOT FURTHER INCIDENTS (ENGINE FAILURES OR MULTIPLE CHIMES).
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2012 FORD FUSION. WHILE DRIVING 55 MPH, THE AIR CONDITIONER WIRES MELTED AND FUSED TOGETHER. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE ISSUE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 68,000.
The contact owns a 2012 Ford Fusion. The contact stated while starting the vehicle, she attempted to open the front driver’s side door but it failed to open. The contact stated no warning light was illuminated. The contact stated that she opened the front driver’s side window and was able to reach the door handle to open the door. The contact took the vehicle to the local dealer, where it was diagnosed with needing the front driver’s side door latch to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired but continued to experience the failure with the driver’s side and both the front and rear passenger’s side door latches. The contact took the vehicle back to local dealer and had all 3 door latches replaced. The vehicle was repaired but experienced the failure for a third time on the front driver side door latch. The contact took the vehicle back to local dealer and had the front driver’s side door latch repaired. The vehicle was repaired but the failure persisted. The manufacturer had been informed of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 35,000.
DRIVER'S SIDE DOOR HANDLE BROKE ALMOST IN THE IDENTICAL SPOT ON A 2009 AND 2012 FORD FUSION I OWN. THE VEHICLE WAS STATIONARY AT MY HOME WHEN THE INCIDENT HAPPENED. THIS HAPPENED WITH NORMAL PRESSURE TO OPEN THE DOOR . THIS PREVENTS THE DOOR FROM OPENING AND OR BEING LOCKED. THE 09 HAD APPROXIMATELY 50K MILES AND THE 2012 HAD APPROX 65K MILES AND HAPPENED ON 6/21/2016. I FEEL THIS IS A DEFECT IN MATERIALS AND DESIGN FOR IT TO HAPPEN ON BOTH VEHICLES I OWN WITH THE EXACT PART NUMBER AND I FEEL THIS IS A MAJOR SAFETY CONCERN SINCE IT COULD HAPPEN DURING AN ACCIDENT PREVENTING THE DRIVER FROM EXITING THE VEHICLE THROUGH THE DRIVERS DOOR.
FOR ALMOST A YEAR MY CAR HAS BEEN MAKING A POPPING CREAKING NOISE WHEN I DRIVE AT LOW SPEEDS (20 OR BELOW). IT STARTED VERY QUIETLY AND HAS PROGRESSIVELY GOTTEN WORSE. I TOOK IT TO THE DEALERSHIP WHERE THEY ADVISED ME THAT THIS STEMS FROM SERVICE BULLETIN TSB 06-24-07. THIS ADVISORY WAS ORIGINALLY JUST FOR 2006 MODELS. HOWEVER, IT IS AFFECTING MY 2012. IT HAS AFFECTED 2007, 2008, AND 2009 AS WELL. THIS IS AN ONGOING SAFETY ISSUE AS THE CONTROL ARMS COULD BREAK AT ANY MOMENT WHILE DRIVING. THIS COULD CAUSE A POTENTIAL CAR ACCIDENT THAT MAY INCLUDE DEATH. THIS ONGOING ISSUE NEEDS TO BE ADDRESSED AS A RECALL SINCE FORD DOES NOT WANT TO COVER COST OF REPAIR TO THEIR ONGOING STEERING ISSUE.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2012 FORD FUSION. WHILE DRIVING 30 MPH, THE STEERING WHEEL BECAME DIFFICULT TO MANEUVER AND THE POWER STEERING ASSIST FAULT LIGHT ILLUMINATED. THE CONTACT COASTED THE VEHICLE OVER TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD, RESTARTED THE VEHICLE, AND RESUMED DRIVING. THE FAILURE RECURRED TWICE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. IN ADDITION, THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A DEALER TO BE REPAIRED PER NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 15V340000 (STEERING); HOWEVER, THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 98,800.
THE CAR WAS PARKED ON IGNITION ON. MY MOTHER, ALICE, WENT OUT IN THE EVENING TO CLOSE THE SUNROOF. THE SUNROOF DID NOT LOOK LIKE IT WAS CLOSING, SO MY MOTHER REACHED UP HER HAND TO FEEL. HER FINGERS WERE THEN CLOSED AND LOCKED INTO THE SUNROOF. THE OPEN BUTTON WOULD NOT WORK TO RELEASE HER HAND. NEIGHBORS CAME TO HELP, TURNED OF THE CAR AND TURNED IT BACK ON AGAIN TO TRY AND OPEN THE ROOF, BUT IT WOULD NOT OPEN TO RELEASE HER FINGERS. CROWBARS WERE USED TO TRY AND RELEASE THE FRAME FROM HER HAND, BUT IT WOULD NOT BUDGE. POLICE HAD TO BREAK THE GLASS OF THE SUNROOF TO RELEASE THE FRAME FROM HER HAND. THIS IS A HUGE SAFETY CONCERN. IF A CHILD'S HAND WOULD HAVE BEEN CAUGHT IT WOULD HAVE BEEN CRUSHED. THEY NEED TO HAVE AN EMERGENCY SENSER TO NEVER CLOSE AND LOCK IN PLACE IF THERE IS AN OBSTRUCTION, OR AN EMERGENCY RELEASE. NOW, MY MOTHER HAS TO FACE MEDICAL AND INSURANCE COSTS. I TYPE THIS IN HER PRESENCE ON HER BEHALF, DUE TO HER RIGHT FINGERS BEING INJURED. WITH THE GRACE OF GOD, NO BONES WERE BROKEN. ANYONE CAN RELATE TO HOW PAINFUL AND TRAUMATIZING IT WAS FOR HER TO HAVE HER HAND CLAMPED AND LOCKED IN PLACE WITH NO RELEASE.
ON JUNE 14, 2016 THE POWER STEERING FAILED ON MY CAR WHILE I WAS DRIVING IT ON A CITY STREET. I SAW A MESSAGE THAT SAID ELECTRONIC STEERING ASSIST FAILURE. I RESTARTED THE CAR AND THE POWER STEERING WAS WORKING. I DROVE THE CAR 2 MILES TO A FORD DEALER. I WAS TOLD THAT THERE IS A SAFETY RECALL ON THIS ISSUE BUT THAT I HAVE EXCEEDED THE MAXIMUM COVERED MILAGE. MY VEHICLE HAS 184,000 MILES BUT THEY ONLY COVER UP TO 150,000 MILES. I COULD HAVE BEEN INJURED IF THIS OCCURRED AT HIGH SPEED OR IN TRAFFIC.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2012 FORD FUSION. WHILE THE VEHICLE WAS PARKED, THE STEERING WHEEL SEIZED WITHOUT WARNING. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED PER NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 15V340000 (STEERING), BUT THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE ISSUE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 82,000.
UNAWARE THAT MY THROTTLE CONTROL TRANSMISSION WAS DEFECTIVE. MY CAR SHUT OFF, WHILE I WAS DRIVING AT APPROXIMATELY 35/40 MPH, ON A BEND ENTERING A BRIDGE AND I WAS ALMOST HIT BY A BUS. WHEN I STARTED CAR UP AGAIN, IT WENT INTO LIMP MODE AND IT CREEPED UNTIL I GOT TO A SAFE AREA AND HAD TO HAVE IT TOWED. FORD REPAIRED IT FOR FREE AFTER I MADE NUMEROUS CALLS BUT I HAD TO PAY FOR A RENTAL WHICH COST ME $140.00. IF I HAD BEEN TRAVELING DOWN A MAJOR HIGHWAY, I COULDVE BEEN KILLED. I NEVER RECEIVED NOTIFICATION OF THIS DEFECTIVE PART. ALSO, MY EVAPORATOR SENSOR WENT BAD IN MY FUSION. A KNOWN DEFECTIVE PART IN EARLIER YEARS UP TO MY YEAR CAR. THE CAR IS ONLY 4 YEARS OLD AND I HAVE NO AIR CONDITIONING. THE PART IS A $20 DEFECTIVE PART BUT THE REPAIRS COST OVER $600.00 BECAUSE THE ENTIRE DASH NEEDS TORN APART. I FEEL THAT SINCE FORD KNEW OF THIS DEFECT, THIS SHOULD ALSO BE REPAIRED FREE OF CHARGE. I HAVE A HANDICAPPED SON WHO NEEDS AIR CONDITIONING AND FINANCIALLY I CANNOT AFFORD TO PAY SUCH A LARGE SUM OF MONEY TO REPLACE THIS WELL KNOWN DEFECTIVE PART.
ISSUE WITH BLOWER MOTOR SHORTING OUT AND SMELL OF MELTING PLASTIC FROM BLOWER MOTOR CABLING. BLOWER MOTOR REPLACED ONCE AND HAS SINCE GONE OUT AGAIN DUE TO SAME ISSUE IN LESS THAN 1 YEAR.
2015 HAD THROTTLE BODY REPLACED BY FORD FOR NOTHING ..8 MONTHS LATER IT HAPPENED AGAIN 6/3/16..FORD PAID FOR THE FIRST WONT DO THE SECOND WITHOUT ME PAYING FOR IT..THIS CAN BE DANGEROUS AS IT JUST STOPS , YOU HAVE NO POWER TO MOVE, THEN IT SHAKES AND DIES. I DID START IT RIGHT AFTER AND GOT HOME BOTH TIMES. JUST SAYING IF THIS IS A FAULTY PART..WHY ARENT THEY FIXING IT, NOT US. I F YOUR GOING FASDT I WOULD HATE TO THINK WHAT WOULD HAPPEN ON A BIG HIGHWAY.
LOSS OF POWER STEERING. CAN NOT TURN THE STEERING WHEEL
I HAVE BEEN HAVING ISSUES WITH THE THROTTLE BODY. YESTERDAY, WHEN PULLING OUT ONTO THE HIGHWAY, MY THROTTLE BODY LIGHT CAME ON AND MY CAR WOULD NOT PICK UP SPEED. I WAS ALMOST REAR ENDED. I WAS PRESSING THE GAS, BUT IT WOULD NOT PICK UP AT ALL. I HAVE A 4 YEAR-OLD DAUGHTER. THIS IS VERY DANGEROUS. I DON'T WANT TO BE DRIVING AND HAVE TO WORRY ABOUT IF MY CAR IS GOING TO STALL AS I ENTER TRAFFIC. THE THROTTLE BODY SHOULD BE RECALLED!

THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE MANUFACTURER EXCEEDED A REASONABLE AMOUNT OF TIME TO REPAIR THE VEHICLE. CUTTER FORD (98-015 KAMEHAMEHA HWY, AILEA, HI 96701) CONFIRMED THAT PARTS WERE NOT AVAILABLE TO PERFORM THE RECALL REPAIR. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE ISSUE. THE CONTACT HAD NOT EXPERIENCED A FAILURE. PARTS DISTRIBUTION DISCONNECT.
I AM FACING ELECTRICAL ISSUE IN MY CAR VERY FREQUENTLY. THE ELECTRICAL PROBLEM OCCURS TWO WAYS, 1) WHILE RUNNING 2) WHILE STARTING THE CAR WHILE RUNNING:- WHEN THE ELECTRICAL ISSUE COME WHILE CAR IS RUNNING THEN THE BELOW PROBLEM OCCURS, 1. TRANSMISSION SHOULD NOT BE SET TO PARKING, IF SET TO PARKING THEN WE CANNOT MOVE TO NEUTRAL OR DRIVE. IT WILL BE STUCK AND TOW IS THE ONLY OPTION. 2. TURN LIGHTS WILL NOT WORK. 3. HEAD LIGHTS WILL NOT WORK. 4. DOOR GLASS SLIDING WILL NOT WORK. 5. AC WILL NOT WORK 6. CAR DISPLAY WILL NOT WORK FOR CLOCK AM/FM 2) WHILE STARTING THE CAR:- IF THE PROBLEM OCCURS WHILE STARTING THE CAR THEN I WILL BE ABLE TO ONLY START THE CAR AND THE AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION WILL NOT WORK. WE CANNOT MOVE THE TRANSMISSION FROM PARKING TO NEUTRAL OR DRIVE. TOWING THE VEHICLE IS THE ONLY OPTION. THIS IS DANGEROUS WHILE DRIVING AT NIGHT, I GOT THIS ISSUE ONE TIME AT NIGHT AND I GOT THE TOUGH TIME IN TOWING THE CAR AND GETTING TO SERVICE CENTRE. AS THE SERVICE CENTRE IS ALWAYS BUSY THEY WONT GET THE TIME TO DIAGNOSIS IMMEDIATELY AND AT THE TIME OF THEY CHECK IT WORK PROPERLY. ANY WAY THEY WERE NOT ABLE TO FIND ANY ISSUES WITH ME CAR. BUT WHEN I TAKE THE CAR BACK TO HOME THE ELECTRICAL ISSUE OFTEN OCCURS. NO ONE ASSURE OF THE SAFETY, AND I AM TRYING MY BEST TO DRIVE AT NIGHT AND HIGHWAYS. EXTREMELY DANGEROUS.
THE BLOWER MOTOR HAS FAILED 3 TIMES ON MY 2012 FUSION. THE FIRST WAS WHILE UNDER WARRANTY IN 2013, THE SECOND WAS JUST OFF WARRANTY IN 2015, AND THE LAST TIME WAS MAY 27, 2016. THE BLOWER MOTOR FAILED ON THE DAY OF MY SON'S HS SENIOR PROM. WHILE SCHULTZ FORD PROVIDED PRIORITY SERVICE TO HAVE THE REPAIR DONE IN 6 HOURS, IT COST ME OVER $700. THIS IS A CHRONIC PROBLEM THAT FORD SHOULD REPAIR AS A RECALL. I'M CROSSING MY FINGERS WHEN I NEED THE AC IN THE LAST SPRING OF 2017.
WHEN I TURNED ON THE FAN TO CIRCULATE HEAT OR COOL AIR NOTHING HAPPENED. THE BLOWER MOTOR FOR THE AC AND HEATING HAS FAILED 3 TIMES IN THE LAST 4 YEARS; 12/13/2013, 6/24/2015, AND 5/26/2016. THE LAST TIME THE FORD DEALER HAD TO REPLACE THE ENTIRE WIRING HARNESS AS WELL. THE LAST REPAIR COST $730. ANGELA KEEVIS, FORD MOTOR COMPANY CUSTOMER SERVICE MANAGER, TOLD ME THERE WAS NOTHING THEY COULD DO FOR ME SINCE I HAD ALREADY PAID FOR THE REPAIR. MY SON NEEDED THE CAR FOR HIS HIGH SCHOOL SENIOR PROM SO I NEEDED TO PAY THE BILL ASAP.

AFTER THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED PER NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 15V25000 (STEERING) AND WHILE DRIVING AT AN UNKNOWN SPEED, "POWER STEERING ASSIST DEFAULT" WAS DISPLAYED ACROSS THE MESSAGE BOARD. THE STEERING WHEEL COMPLETELY SEIZED. THE FAILURE RECURRED ON NUMEROUS OCCASIONS. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A DEALER MULTIPLE TIMES, BUT WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 30,000. THE CONSUMER STATED THE DOOR HANDLE AND MIRRORS ARE RUSTING ON THE VEHICLE. *TR
I HAVE A POWER STEERING FAULT ON THE MESSAGE BOARD. I CANNOT TURN THE WHEEL WITHOUT HAVING TO USE ALL MY STRENGTH. NEARLY GOT INTO TWO ACCIDENTS WHILE DRIVING WHEN THIS HAPPENED.
PURCHASED A 2012 FUSION SEL WITH 35XXX MILES IN FEB16. DURING THE SUMMER OF 2016, THE A/C BLOWER BEGAN TO FUNCTION INTERMITTENTLY ' MANIPULATION OF THE WIRE HARNESS SUPPLYING POWER TO THE RESISTOR WOULD CAUSE THE BLOWER TO TURN ON/OFF. THE BLOWER ONLY RAN AT ONE SPEED (I.E. THE RESISTOR WAS BAD). THE BLOWER AND RESISTOR WERE REPLACED. THE ISSUE IS ONCE AGAIN OCCURRING AT ~80,000 MILES. THIS IS A WELL-DOCUMENTED COMPLAINT (BLOWER PULL TOO MUCH CURRENT AND FRIES THE RESISTOR) WITH THIS VEHICLE AND, OFTENTIMES, FORD DEALERS ARE ONLY REPLACING/REPAIRING THE BLOWER AND RESISTOR. HOWEVER, IN MY EXPERIENCE (AND LIKELY MANY OTHERS), THE WIRE HARNESS ALSO NEEDED TO BE REPLACED TO CORRECT THE ISSUE AS CONTINUITY THROUGH THE WIRING IS ALSO AFFECTED WHEN THIS ISSUE FIRST OCCURS. THIS IS AN OBVIOUS MANUFACTURING DEFECT THAT FORD IS NOT ADDRESSING. FURTHERMORE, THEIR DEALERSHIPS/SERVICE CENTER PERSONNEL ARE NOT ADEQUATELY EDUCATED ON HOW TO PERMANENTLY CORRECT THIS ISSUE (THIS IS EVIDENT BY THE NUMBER OF COMPLAINTS THAT REFERENCE THE ISSUE RECURRING AFTER ONLY THE BLOWER MOTOR AND RESISTOR ARE REPLACED). THEY ARE CHARGING FUSION OWNERS $500+ TO PUT A TEMPORARY BAND AID ON AN ELECTRICAL ISSUE THAT SHOULD BE WELL UNDERSTOOD BY NOW.

WHEN I'M EITHER TAKING OFF OR IN MOTION RIDING DOWN ANY TYPE OF ROAD OR HIGHWAY A WRENCH LIGHT COMES ON SOME TIME. I LOOK THE ICON UP AND IT SAYS SOMETHING ABOUT THE POWER TRAN OR TRANSMISSION. WHILE IN MOTION IT FEEL AS IF I LOST SPEED AND THEN THE WRENCH ICON POPS ON. WHEN TAKING OFF I CAN FEEL A JERK AS IF IT CAN'T GET THE POWER TO SHIFT AND GO.
PASSENGER SEAT BELT LIGHT COME ON AND STAYS ON. THE SEAT BELT WARNING GOES OF AFTER FASTENING BUT IF IT'S TAKEN OFF DURING THE TRIP, NEVER ANOTHER WARNING.
POWER STEERING FAILED NOTICE DISPLAYED UPON STARTING PARKED VEHICLE.. 2012 FORD FUSION DISPLAY PANEL SAID "POWER STEERING ASSIST FAILURE" AND " SERVICE ADVANCETRAC." WHEN I LOGGED IN ON FORD OWNER WEBSITE, IT ADVISED ME OF "FIELD SERVICE ACTION" TITLED "EPAS STEERING EFFORTS" AND FIELD SERVICE ACTION NUMBER "15N01." DATE THIS BEGAN APPROXIMATE, AND HAS REPEATED AND FINALLY REMAINS FAILED. MILEAGE IS APPROXIMATE.
WITH NO CONSISTENCY IN TIMING, THE POWER STEERING HAS BEEN GOING OUT. I MAY BE DRIVING, TURNING OR WAITING AT A STOP LIGHT, ON CITY STREETS OR THE HIGHWAY. THIS PROBLEM STARTED IN MAY 2016, HAPPENING 1-2 TIMES PER MONTH. I TOOK IT INTO MY LOCAL FORD DEALER AND THEY SAID THERE WAS NOTHING WRONG. THEY THOUGHT IT COULD BE A PROBLEM WITH THE STEERING RACK, BUT WEREN'T SURE. THEY DENIED THAT MY VEHICLE WAS INCLUDED IN FORD'S RECALL OF SEVERAL 2011 AND 2012 FUSIONS FOR THE SAME PROBLEM. NOW (SEPTEMBER 2016), THE POWER STEERING IS GOING OUT 1-2 TIMES PER DAY. THE "POWER STEERING ASSIST FAULT" AND "SERVICE ADVANCTRAC" ERROR MESSAGES APPEAR. I FEEL THIS IS A SERIOUS SAFETY ISSUE FOR ME AND THE OTHER DRIVERS ON THE ROAD, AND FORD SHOULD BE RESPONSIBLE FOR THEIR DESIGN FLAW.

CAR EXHIBITS A DRONE/MOAN OR RATTLE NOISE. THE NOISE TYPICALLY OCCURS WHILE DRIVING UP A SLIGHT INCLINE, UNDER LIGHT THROTTLE AT 45-61 KM/H (28-38 MPH) AT 1300-1400 RPM, IN 5TH GEAR. THE NOISE MAY BE PRESENT WITH THE A/C ON OR OFF BUT IS TYPICALLY AGGRAVATED WHEN THE A/C COMPRESSOR CYCLES ON. THIS IS THE EXACT SAME ISSUE AT TSB 11-10-26, BUT THAT TSB ONLY APPLIES TO ESCAPE AND MARINER VEHICLES EVEN THOUGH THE ISSUE ALSO APPLIES TO FUSIONS. DRIVER SIDE INTERIOR DOOR OPENER BROKE. TO ME THIS COULD BE QUITE SERIOUS WHAT IF I'M IN A CRASH AND CAR CAUGHT FIRE WITH DOOR NOT OPENING PROPERLY I COULD BURN TO A CRISPY CRUNCH.IN A SITUATION LIKE THAT IT WOULD BE GOOD TO BE ABLE TO GET AT AS SOON AS POSSIBLE DON'T YA THINK?
I WENT IN FOR A ROUTINE OIL CHANGE AND CAR CHECK UP. THEY TOLD ME THERE IS BRAKE FLUID LEAKING FROM THE MASTER CYLINDER INTO THE BRAKE BOOSTER AND IT RUSTED. BACK BRAKES AND ROTORS NEEDED, FLUSHING SYSTEM $1400? THEY SAID I WAS LUCKY CAUSE THEY COULD GIVE OUT AT ANYTIME CAUSING A FATAL ACCIDENT.
APRIL, 2016: I WAS PARKED IN MY DRIVE WAY WITH THE MOTOR OFF. WHEN I STARTED THE CAR I COULD BARELY TURN THE STEERING WHEEL. I WAS ABLE TO SLOWLY DRIVE IT TO SCHULTZ FORD IN NANUET, NEW YORK. THE PROBLEM WAS THAT THE ELECTRONIC GEARBOX HAD FAILED. THE REPAIR COST $2000. THE SCHULTZ FORD SERVICE MANAGER INFORMED ME THAT CERTAIN MODELS OF 2012 FUSIONS WERE RECALLED FOR THE PROBLEM AND THEY WERE REPAIRED FOR FREE. UNFORTUNATELY, MY FUSION WAS NOT ONE OF THOSE MODELS. I APPEALED TO THE REGIONAL SERVICE MANAGER. SHE REPEATED THE SAME INFORMATION AS SCHULTZ FORD. SHE ADVISED ME TO REPORT THE PROBLEM TO THE NHTSA IN HOPE THAT IF ENOUGH PEOPLE COMPLAINED FORD WOULD ISSUE A RECALL AND REIMBURSE ME FOR THIS REPAIR AT THAT TIME. I AM CONFUSED AS TO WHY A PROBLEM THAT AROSE WITHOUT WARNING, AND WAS THE SUBJECT OF A RECALL NOTICE ON A SLIGHTLY DIFFERENT MODEL, WAS NOT TREATED AS A MANUFACTURING DEFECT AND REPAIRED FOR FREE BY FORD MOTOR COMPANY.

In 2016 I took my 2012 fusion to the dealership where I bought it used with 11,000 miles on it to ask how I could fix my a/c as it's now out of waranty. We bought it in 2012. While there I asked why the dash cluster was stating POWER STEERING ASSIST FAULT and why the power steering goes out when starting the car sometime and while driving yet reset able per manual instructions on page 219. Parts worker said he didn't know why but the last one they fixed was a little over$1,600.00 and there that was no recall on it. Over the next 6 to 7 years same thing would happen every few months until finally power steering went out at about 192,000 miles. Saw recall number and made appt. at dealer (KELLY FORD) in Melbourne Florida where I bought it and they told me it's to late plus it's over 150,000 miles. Very hard to drive and my wife and daughters unable to drive it. HELP! It was at 192,000 when it finally went out and made appt. at dealer. Called Ford customer service and they beat around the bush basically telling me they would not fix the issue for free and I was to late for a recall? NEVER RECEIVED A RECALL NOTICE of any kind.

MU 2012 FORD FUSION LOST POWER TO THE STEERING ON THE HIGHWAY SO WHEN I PULLED THE STEERING WHEEL HARD SO I CAN GET TO THE SIDE OF THE HIGHWAY WHEN I FINALLY GOT TO TO THE SIDE OF THE HIGHWAY I TURNED THE CAR OFF AND TURNED IT BACK ON THE STEERING WHEEL WILL NOT MOVE AND A MESSAGE ON THE DASHBOARD APPEARS AND SAY SERVICE "POWER STEERING KNOW" SO I HAD TO CALL A TOW TRUCK AND WHEN IT GOT TO THE DEALERSHIP THEY SAID IT IS A PROBLEM WITH ELECTRONIC STEERING RACK AND PINION FAULTY AND IT WOULD COST ME 1,500 DOLLERS TO GET IT FIX SO I STARTED RESEARCHING ON THE NHTSA WEBSITE AND FOUND OUT IT WAS A RECALL BUT MY CAR WAS NOT AFFECTED AND I DON'T KNOW HOW CAUSE ITS ALOT OF PEOPLE WITH THIS SAME PROBLEM WITH THEIR 2012 FORD FUSION.
