CAR HAS A DOOR LATCH RECALL AS WELL
OUR POWER STEERING NO LONGER WORKS A MESSAGE ON THE DASH SAYS POWER STEERING ASSIST FAULT SERVICE REQUIRED. CONSUMER REPORTS SAYS THERE IS A RECALL FOR FORD FUSIONS THE SAME YEAR UNDER RECALL NUMBER 19S26. MY CAR IS NOT INCLUDED IN THIS RECALL HOWEVER IT IS HAVING THE SAME ISSUE THIS ISSUE IS TAKING PLACE IN COLD-WEATHER STATES DUE TO CORROSION VIA SALT WE LIVE IN NH.
The contact owns a 2014 Ford Fusion. The contact stated that upon driving after the vehicle had been exposed to rain or water at the carwash, the side mirrors would readjust unintendedly while driving. The contact stated that while driving 75 MPH and changing lanes, the failure reoccurred, causing him to lose visibility of another vehicle, which almost caused a crash. The contact was able to continue driving. The vehicle was taken to the local dealer where it was diagnosed that the side mirrors wiring needed to be rewired. The dealer informed the contact that he had to pay for the repair out-of-pocket; however, the contact declined. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 118,000.
TRANSMISSION
LOST MY POWER STEERING, WHILE I WAS PARKED AT MCDONALDS, HILL ASSIST LIGHT AND ADVANCE TRAC LIGHTS ARE ON. I CAN NOT DRIVE IT WITH NO POWER STEERING.THE CAR WAS IN PART, WHEN I PUT IT IN REVERSE, BOTH LIGHTS CAME ON AND NO POWER STEERING PUT IT BACK IN PART, TURN THE ENGINE OFF, I TRIED THID THREE OR FOUR TIMES, FINALLY I HAD POWER STEERING AGIAN, DROVE 16 MILES TO HOME AND IT HAPPENED AGAIN. SO DOWN IT JUST SITS THERE, I'M NOT GOING TO DRIVE IT AGAIN UNTIL IT;S FIXED. I CAN'T AFFORD TO FIX IT IF IT'S GOING TO COST THOUSANDS OF DOLLARS, THERE SHOULD BE A RECALL, TOO MANY PEOPLE HAVING THE SAME THING GO WRONG.
Since around 2020 / 2021 the vehicle rear-view camera has been malfunctioning. The screen can go blank or show an error message intermittently while in use, often moments after the vehicle starts to move, making continued immediate movement dangerous for the driver or pedistrians. The video feed sometimes works, sometimes shows an error message to contact the dealer. Sometimes the feed flashes back and forth intermittently working and showing a black sreen, every few seconds. Sometimes the video feed is flipped horizontally, showing the usually left side of the video on the right and vice-a-versa. This particular failure caused vertigo and was extremely hard to ignore, making it difficult to continue parking the car. I contacted the dealership and was told an approximate $1300 was required to fix the intermittent camera functioning, when it had worked for 8 years and was still intermittently working - it would seem a software problem introduced by an firmware update, if I was to assess the situation. no police report was filed, confirming. I called my local dealership more recently and asked about fixing it under relation to one of the many Ford truck related backup camera recalls and somehow my camera / car are not part of the recall, so I was instructed to contact the nhtsa to have my complaint added. I suspect because it is a lower volume car, the exact model is liikey not to show many vehciles with this problem. The corporate Ford customer service rep was very nice, but unable to grant permission for my car to be fixed by a dealer at reduced cost. Please add this to the Ford recalls of late or open a new relating recall. Thank you for your time.
WHILE DRIVING OR STATIONARY, THE VEHICLE'S TRUNK LID OPENS ON ITS OWN. DRIVING CONDITIONS, SPEED, ETC. DO NOT SEEM TO PERTAIN TO THE ISSUE.
MY TRANSMISSION IS MESS UP IS THERE A RECALL ON 2014 FORD FUSION BLACK
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2014 FORD FUSION. THE CONTACT STATED THAT AFTER SHIFTING FROM REVERSE TO DRIVE, THE VEHICLE CONTINUED TO MOVE BACKWARDS. THERE WAS NO WARNING LIGHT ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THOROUGHBRED FORD OF PLATTE CITY, INC. (1901 PRAIRIE VIEW RD, PLATTE CITY, MO 64079, (816) 858-3777) BUT WAS NOT DIAGNOSED NOR REPAIRED. THE CONTACT STATED THE FAILURE WAS SIMILAR TO NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 18V471000 (POWER TRAIN) HOWEVER, THE VIN WAS NOT INCLUDED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 156,328.
I WAS MERGING INTO THE LEFT LANE TO TAKE A 30FT ROUNDABOUT AT 20-25 MPH AND MID CIRCLE THE CARS POWER STEERING CUT OFF, PULLING CAR TO THE OUTSIDE MEDIAN. WARNING LIGHTS CAME ON, LOSS OF TRACTION CONTROLS AND SOMETHING TO DO WITH HILL PARKING.
The contact owns a 2014 Ford Fusion. The contact stated that the engine coolant would be depleted during normal vehicle operation. Due to the failure, the vehicle would overheat while driving with white colored smoke coming from the engine. The contact also stated that the vehicle would stall and shudder while driving with the check engine warning light intermittently flashing on the instrument panel. The contact had called a dealer and was given an estimate for the repair. The contact then took the vehicle to an independent mechanic where the failure was linked to a coolant leak; however, the mechanic had not determined the source of the leak. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and referred the contact to NHTSA for assistance. The vehicle had yet to be repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 48,000.

THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED AND REMAINED AT THE CONTACT'S RESIDENCE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS INFORMED OF THE FAILURE. THE MANUFACTURER STATED THAT THE VIN WAS NOT INCLUDED IN THE RECALL AND WOULD NOT BE REPAIRED FREE OF CHARGE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 40,000.
UNDER MODERATE BRAKING, BRAKE PEDAL WENT TO THE FLOOR - RED BRAKE LIGHT CAME ON AND I HAD LITTLE TO NO BRAKING. VEHICLE WAS ON 25MPH NEIGHBORHOOD STREET - HAD TO BRAKE SUDDENLY FOR A DOG. WAS ONLY 1/4 MILE FROM HOME AND WAS ABLE TO GET INTO GARAGE. FOUND A PUDDLE OF BRAKE FLUID FROM LEFT FRONT. REMOVED WHEEL AND FOUND LEFT FRONT BRAKE LINE RUPTURED NEAR FITTING CRIMP OPPOSITE END FROM CALIPER..
ON FEBRUARY 19, 2021. AFTER BACKING MY 2014 FORD FUSION INTO A PARKING SPACE. I WENT TO SHIFT IT INTO PARK. THE LEVER SHIFTED ALL THE WAY FORWARD AS IF IT WERE IN PARK. I TURNED OFF THE CAR AND BECAUSE THE CAR WAS ON A SLIGHT INCLINE IT BEGAN TO ROLL. I HIT THE BRAKE AND LOOKED TO SEE IF I WAS INDEED IN PARK. THE SHIFTER WAS ALL THE WAY FORWARD BUT THE DISPLAY SHOWED AS IF THE CAR WAS IN REVERSE. I TRIED TO START THE CAR. IT WOULD NOT START. I COULD NOT MOVE THE SHIFTER OUT OF PARK. I TRIED SEVERAL TIMES TO REMOVE THE CAR FROM PARK. I COULD NOT. AFTER CHECKING YOUTUBE TO SEE IF ANYONE ELSE HAD THE SAME PROBLEMS I CHECKED ON CURRENT RECALLS. RECALL NUMBER 18V471000 COMPONENT POWER TRAIN:AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION:LEVER AND LINKAGE:FLOOR SHIFT FORD MOTOR COMPANY (FORD) IS RECALLING CERTAIN 2013-2016 FORD FUSION VEHICLES, EQUIPPED WITH SIX-SPEED AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSIONS. THE BUSHING THAT ATTACHES THE TRANSMISSION SHIFTER CABLE TO THE TRANSMISSION MAY DEGRADE OVER TIME AND CAUSE THE BUSHING TO DETACH FROM THE TRANSMISSION. THE CONDITION COULD ALLOW THE DRIVER TO MOVE THE SHIFT LEVER TO PARK AND REMOVE THE IGNITION KEY, WHILE THE TRANSMISSION MAY NOT BE IN PARK. I CONTACTED THE LOCAL FORD DEALER AND FORD.COM AND THEY TOLD ME, THEY WOULD ONLY FIX THE ISSUES IF I PAID THEM BECAUSE MY FUSION WAS NOT ON THE RECALL LIST.
MY PASSENGER SIDE AIRBAG INDICATOR CAME UP WITH NO WARNING AND WOULDN'T SHUT OFF. THE CAR WILL NOT PASS INSPECTION WITHOUT THIS BEING ADDRESSED. THE DEALER IS TELLING ME THEY HAVE TO REPLACE THE AIRBAG ON PASSENGER SIDE FOR $1900. I WAS NOT INVOLVED IN A CRASH, THE LIGHT JUST CAME ON AND WOULDN'T GO OFF.
THE BUSHING SHIFTER HAS CAUSED THE GEAR TO BE IN PARK WHILE THE DASHBOARD SAYS REVERSE. THE CAR WON'T START AND WITHOUT EMERGENCY BREAKS IT ROLLS. IT HAS BEEN RECALLED FOR THIS EXACT ISSUE ALONG WITH 3 OTHER RECALLS. THE CAR WAS IN A RESTAURANT PARKING LOT.
The contact owns a 2014 Ford Fusion. The contact stated while driving at an undisclosed speed, the engine overheated. The contact stated that several unknown warning lights were illuminated. The contact pulled over to the side of the road and the check engine warning light illuminated. The vehicle was towed to an independent mechanic where it was diagnosed with an unknown pump failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The contact was advised to take the vehicle to the dealer. The contact stated that after the first failure, the vehicle was taken to the dealer; however, no cause for the failure was found. The contact stated that the failure persisted. The contact stated that while depressing the accelerator pedal, the engine made revving sounds with ticking sounds coming from the vehicle. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and filed a claim and the contact was referred to the NHTSA Hotline. The failure mileage was approximately 65,000.
I had and issue with vehicle check engine light. Took it to ganley ford west in cleveland Ohio. They replaced purge valve and 2 years later it is throwing purge valve. Code again. They also did some work on motor . They replaced water pump and a few other things. Shop seen loose bolts on intake.
MY POWER ASSIST MOTOR BOLTS BROKE WHEN DOING A 3 POINT TURN CAUSING THE CAR LOOSE ITS POWER STEERING. RESEARCHED FORD RECALLS FOR 2013-2015 FUSIONS AND FOUND THERE IS A RECALL FOR THIS EXACT ISSUE. RECALL 15S14 WHICH STATES THE CORROSION PROBLEM. MY CAR IS REGISTERED IN CT AND SHOULD BE INCLUDED BUT FORD SAY IT DOES NOT APPLY TO MY VIN. THE MECHANICS AT FORD AGREE THAT THIS SHOULD BE COVERED BUT THEY ARE UNABLE TO DO ANYTHING WITHOUT FORDS PERMISSION. THE COST IS $2700. I AM LOOKING TO GET THIS COVERED UNDER THE RECALL BUT I AM STUCK. I HOPE SOMEONE WILL CONTACT ME.

FROM COLD START, POWER STEERING FAILURE. STEERING WHEEL IMPOSSIBLE TO TURN WITH ENGINE RUNNING. INSTRUMENTATION WARNING LIGHT AND MESSAGE: "STEERING ASSIST FAULT...SERVICE ADVANCE TRAC." VEHICLE NOT DRIVABLE. 72,715 MILES ON VEHICLE.
VEHICLE'S ENGINE MISFIRES AND STALLS AT LOW SPEEDS AFTER COLD START TRIGGERING ONBOARD DIAGNOSTIC CODE. FORD DEALERSHIP WHERE VEHICLE WAS PURCHASED INSPECTED (4/23/2019) BUT DID NOT FIND CAUSE OF MISFIRES AND STALLS. I REPLACED THE OEM LOW PRESSURE FUEL SENSOR (11/8/2019) AS SUGGESTED BY OTHERS EXPERIENCING SIMILAR ISSUES FOR LIKE MODEL VEHICLES. THE ENGINE HAS CONTINUED TO MISFIRE AND STALL AFTER REPLACING LOW PRESSURE FUEL SENSOR. DURING A RECENT INSPECTION OF THE VEHICLE BY A LOCAL SERVICE CENTER (3/17/2021), THE TECHNICIAN NOTED THAT THE ENGINE COOLANT WAS ABNORMALLY LOW. THE ENGINE MISFIRES AND LOW COOLANT SUGGEST A POSSIBLE COOLANT INTRUSION INTO ENGINE CYLINDERS. THIS ISSUE HAS BEEN REPORTED WITH OTHER LIKE MODEL FORD VEHICLES WITH ECOBOOST ENGINES (SEE TSB 20-2100). IN MY OPINION, THERE IS SUBSTANTIAL RISK OF INJURY TO OCCUPANTS OF THE VEHICLE AS THE MISFIRES AND STALLS ARE MORE LIKELY WHEN THE ENGINE IS COLD AND THE DRIVER IS ATTEMPTING TO ACCELERATE FROM A STATIONARY POSITION. E.G. TURNING ONTO A BUSY STREET AND MERGING WITH TRAFFIC. FORD SHOULD REPLACE HEAD GASKET FOR AFFECTED VEHICLES AND SMALL BLOCK FOR CUSTOMERS WHO EXPERIENCE COMPLETE ENGINE FAILURE.
VEHICLE'S GAS PEDDLE BECOMES UNRESPONSIVE/LOCKS WHILE IN OPERATION. TWICE THIS HAS OCCURRED AT TOP SPEEDS OF 65 ON MAJOR HIGHWAYS AND THANKFULLY, IN SITUATIONS WHERE I COULD PULL ONTO A MEDIAN. THAT SAID, THIS IS A VERY DANGEROUS SITUATION REGARDLESS AND SHOULD SUBSTANTIATE AN INVESTIGATION AS IT'S APPARENT I'M NOT THE ONLY ONE WHO'S EXPERIENCED THIS. IN ADDITION TO THIS, THE VEHICLE REFUSES TO TURN OVER WHEN FILLED WITH GASOLINE.
VEHICLE SHUTTERING SHIFTING HARD INTO SECOND OR THIRD GEAR FROM FIRST JUST STARTED
1.5 FORD FUSION SHORT BLOCK ENGINE ANTIFREEZE LEAKING TO CYLINDER CAUSING MISS FIRE OR FIRE THE ENGINE THIS IS EXTREMELY DANGEROUS , I GOT LUCKY MY ENGINE CAUSED MISS FIRE AND I HAVE TO REPLACE IT WITH LONG BLOCK ENGINE . WHEN ANTIFREEZE LEAK TO CYLINDER ITS MAKE ALOT OF SMOKE , THATS WHAT HAPPENED INSIDE MY GARAGE I WAS LUCKY AGAIN TOOK MY KIDS OUT OF GARAGE BEFORE THEY GOT SUFFOCATION FROM THE SMOKE .
TL* THE CONTACT'S WIFE OWNS A 2014 FORD FUSION. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING AT 65 MPH, THE VEHICLE STARTED OVERHEATING AS INDICATED ON THE INSTRUMENT PANEL. THE VEHICLE THEN SHIFTED INTO LIMP MODE. THE CONTACT PULLED OVER TO THE SHOULDER AND ALLOWED THE VEHICLE TO COOL OFF HOWEVER, THE VEHICLE BECAME INOPERABLE. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO DICK SMITH FORD OF COLUMBIA (7201 GARNERS FERRY RD, COLUMBIA, SC 29209) TO BE DIAGNOSED. THE MECHANIC WAS UNABLE TO DETERMINE THE CAUSE OF THE FAILURE. SEVERAL UNKNOWN TROUBLE CODES WERE CLEARED AND THE VEHICLE WAS RETURNED TO THE CONTACT. AFTER RETRIEVING THE VEHICLE, THE FAILURE RECURRED TWICE AND WAS TOWED TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC TO BE DIAGNOSED. THE MECHANIC STATED THAT THE HEAD GASKET WAS BLOWN AND THAT THE ENGINE NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. UPON INVESTIGATION, THE CONTACT DISCOVERED NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 17V209000 (ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING) WHICH HE LINKED TO THE FAILURE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE AND INFORMED HIM THAT THE VIN WAS NOT INCLUDED IN THE RECALL. THE CONTACT WAS REFERRED TO NHTSA FOR ASSISTANCE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 152,000.
MY CAR, A 2014 FORD FUSION SE, WAS PARKED IN MY DRIVEWAY ON 1/2/2021, EVERYTHING WAS FINE ON 1/3/2021 I STARTED THE CAR AND MY POWER ASSIST DID NOT WORK AND AN ERROR OF "STEERING ASSIST FAULT SERVICE REQUIRED", "SERVICE ADVANCETRAC", "HILL ASSIST OFF" AND MY TRACTION LIGHT CAME ON STATING IT IS OFF. THIS CAR HAS 74036 MILES AND HAS NEVER HAD A PROBLEM. I CALLED THE FORD DEALERSHIP AND WAS TOLD THERE ARE NO RECALLS FOR THIS. THE CAR WAS STATIONARY WITH NO REASON FOR THESE PROBLEMS.
START THE VEHICLE A FAULT IS DISPLAYED ON DASHBOARD STEERING ASSIST FAULT. THE STEERING WHEEL DOES NOT TURN, CAN NOT DRIVE THE CAR.
TIRE IN FOR SERVICE, FIRESTONE REP STATED LUG NUTS NEED TO BE REPLACED, THEY ARE "MUSHROOMING" WHICH COULD CAUSE AN INABILITY TO REMOVE THE LUG NUTS IN CASE OF ROADSIDE EMERGENCY.
MY TRUNK KEEPS POPPING OPEN. IT DOES NOT MATTER IF MY CAR IS IN MOTION OR PARKED. THE DOORS UNLOCK/LOCK WHEN TRUNK POPS OPEN AND THE LIGHTS FLASH (AS IF WALKING OUT TO YOUR CAR AND HITTING UNLOCK ON KEY FOB). IT SEEMS TO HAPPEN MORE OFTEN IN DIRECT SUNLIGHT BUT DOES HAPPEN DURING THE NIGHT AS WELL.
AS I WAS DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY AT 65MPH MY CAR STOPPED ACCELERATING AS I WAS DRIVING. I HAD TO CUT MY CAR OFF AS TO 'RESTART' IT WOULD ALLOW ME TO DRIVE A SHORT DISTANCE. THANK GOODNESS I WAS NOT FAR FROM HOME. THIS HAS NEVER HAPPENED AND I HAD NO WARNING OR INDICATION THAT SOMETHING WAS WRONG. I JUST GOT AN OIL CHANGE 2 WEEKS AGO AND I KEEP UP ON MAINTENANCE ON MY VEHICLE. I WENT TO THE INTERNET AND RESEARCHED THE ISSUE AND I CAME ACROSS A BUNCH. THIS IS AN ISSUE THAT SHOULD BE RECALLED BECAUSE THIS CAN CAUSE A HEALTH AND SAFETY HAZARD WHILE DRIVING.
THE POWER WINDOWS ALL QUIT WORKING AT THE SAME TIME. AFTER A FEW WEEKS THE PASSENGER FRONT WINDOW STARTED WORKING. I TOOK THE CAR IN FOR A RECALL, AT THAT TIME I ASKED THEM TO CHECK THE WINDOWS AS WELL AS THE LOCKS. THE ONLY WAY TO LOCK THE CAR WAS THE KEY FOB. NO CODES CAME UP WHEN PUT ON DIALYSIS. THE WINDOWS ALL WORKED AFTER THEY CHECKED, THEY SUGGESTED REPLACING THE MASTERWINDOW SWITCH. I DECLINED SINCE THE WINDOWS WORKED. SHORTLY AFTER MY CONTROL PANEL QUIT WORKING I CANNOT GET ANY HEAT OR AIR. THIS WIL PERIODICALLY WORK FOR A FEW MINUTES THEN QUIT. RECENTLY THE LOW TIRE PRESSURE SYSTEM WILL COME ON, TIRE PRESSURES ARE PERFECT, AFTER TURNING OFF THE CAR THE LIGHT GOES AWAY. EVERYTHING EXCEPT THE TIRE LIGHT HAS HAPPENED WHILE DRIVING AND WHILE PARKED. TIRE PRESSURE HAS ONLY HAPPENED WHILE DRIVING. ALSO WHEN THE CONSOLE QUIT WORKING THE OUTSIDE TEMPERATURE DOES NOT SHOW ON THE DASH.

TRUNK POPPING OPEN, STEERING RECALLS, FIRE HAZARD FROM CHARGING CABLE. THESE ARE SAFEFY ISSUES I WOULD LIKE TO GET FIXED!!
TRANSMISSION SHIFT CABLE BUSHING FAILED. CAR WAS IN 'REVERSE'. BRAKE APPLIED AND CAR SHIFTED TO DRIVE. WHEN BRAKE WAS RELEASED THE CAR DROVE BACKWARDS AND REMAINED IN REVERSE. BRAKES WERE IMMEDIATELY APPLIED AND CAR SHIFTED TO PARK. WHEN BRAKE WAS RELEASED, CAR AGAIN DROVE BACKWARDS, REMAINING IN REVERSE. BRAKES APPLIED AND CAR WAS TURNED OFF. DASH STILL INDICATED CAR WAS IN REVERSE, BUT SHIFTER WAS IN PARK. PARKING BRAKE APPLIED. CAR WOULD NOT START AGAIN BECAUSE TRANSMISSION WAS STUCK IN REVERSE. THE POWER STEERING KEEPS GOING OUT FOR NO REASON WHEN I AM DRIVING IN ANY KIND OF WEATHER. IT 1ST HAPPENED WHEN I WENT THROUGH A PUDDLE ON 2 OCCASIONS BUT HAPPENED AGAIN ON A SUNNY DAY WHEN I WAS ON THE HIGHWAY
MY FUSION HAD INOPERABLE WIPERS AND TURN SIGNALS. THE STEERING WHEEL CONTROLS WOULD NOT WORK OR TOGGLE BETWEEN ANY INFORMATION. THE BLINKERS WOULD NOT WORK AT ALL. WIPERS WOULD ONLY WORK ON FULL SPEED. I HAD TO DRIVE FOR 20 MILES AND THEN EVERYTHING STARTED TO WORK AGAIN.
THE BACKSEAT OF DRIVER'S SIDE SEAT BELT LOCKED AND KEPT MY CHILD RESTRAINED. THIS OCCURRED AFTER I PULLED INTO A PARKING LOT AND PUT THE CAR IN PARK. AFTER MULTIPLE ATTEMPTS OF TRYING TO LOOSEN THE BELT THEN I EVENTUALLY HAD TO CUT THE SEAT BELT WITH SCISSORS IN ORDER TO GET MY CHILD OUT.
"STEERING LOSS" , "SERVICE ADVANCETRAC" AND "HILL START ASSIST NOT AVAIL" INDICATOR ON DASH CAME ON AT AROUND 94,000 MILES WHILE DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY WITH NO PRIOR MECHANICAL ISSUES OR INDICATORS OF MECHANICAL FAILURE. LUCKILY I WAS ABLE TO STEER (VERY DIFFICULT/STEERING WHEEL STIFF) OFF THE ROADWAY. VISUAL INSPECTION OF VEHICLE SHOWS NO DAMAGE TO MECHANICAL COMPONENTS. I BELIEVE ELECTRIC POWER STEERING COMPONENT OR SENSOR IS CAUSING SYSTEM TO LOCK UP AND COULD HAVE VERY WELL ENDED VERY BADLY FOR ME AND MY FAMILY.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2014 FORD FUSION. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 45-50 MPH, THE VEHICLE STALLED. THERE WAS NO WARNING LIGHT ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE WAS THEN TOWED TO ROY O'BRIEN FORD (22201 E 9 MILE RD, ST CLAIR SHORES, MI 48080) WHERE THE FAILURE WAS DIAGNOSED AS A COOLANT INTRUSION WHERE THE COOLANT LEAKED INTO THE ENGINE AND DAMAGED THE CHARGE AIR COOLER. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 58,000.
THE TRUNK WILL POP OPEN BY ITSELF AT DIFFERENT TIMES. SOMETIMES SITTING IN THE DRIVEWAY, OTHER TIMES IT HAS HAPPENED WHILE THE CAR WAS DRIVING. FORD DEALERSHIP HASN'T BEEN ABLE TO RECREATE THE ISSUE AND SAYS NOTHING IS WRONG. THIS HAS BEEN A COMMONPLACE COMPLAINT ON VARIOUS FORD FORUMS.
II HAD RECALL 19V362000 POWER TRAIN:AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION:LEVER AND LINKAGE:FLOOR SHIFT DONE ON THIS CAR I CANNOT REMEMBER OR FIND THE DATE. I NEVER HAD A PROBLEM WITH THE SHIFTER BEFORE THE RECALL WAS DONE. ON MONDAY NOV 2 2020 MY WIFE HAD THE CAR SHE STOPPED AT A GAS STATION PARKED THE CAR AND GOT OUT. THE CAR ROLLED INTO A CURB. SHE CHECKED AND THE SHIFTER WAS IN PARK.THE ENGINE WOULD NOT START, SHE CALLED ME AND I LOOKED AT THE SHIFTER CABLE WAS DETACHED FROM THE TRANS SHIFTER ARM. THE BUSHING WAS STILL ON THE SHIFTER LINKAGE AT THE TRANS.I PERCHESED A NEW BUSHING PART "DG9Z-7K340-A. I INSTALED THE NEW BUSHING AS PER THE RECALL INSTRUCTIONS. I AM CONCERNED THIS RECALL DID NOT FIX THE PROBLEM, AND MAY HAVE MADE IT WORSE. I STILL HAVE THE OLD BUSHING IF YOU ARE INTERESTED IN SEEING IT I WILL SEND IT TO YOU. THANK YOU TAYLOR '
MY CAR RAN HOT ON ME FOR THE FIRST TIME. I ADDED COOLANT AND TRIED TO RESTART THE CAR. HAD TO GET VEHICLE TOWED TO A DEALERSHIP AND THE DEALERSHIP TOLD ME IT WAS COOLANT INTRUSION. THEY SAID THEY HAVE SEEN A LOT OF VEHICLES THAT DID THE SAME THING. THE MAN AT THE DEALERSHIP SAID THAT GET ABOUT ONE VEHICLE A WEEK THIS HAPPENS. THE CAR WAS IN MOTION. I WAS GOING THE SPEED OF ABOUT 55 MILES AN HOUR. IT STARTED LOSING SPEED AND JUST DIED ON ME WHEN I GOT TO THE STOP SIGN AT THE END OF THE ROAD.
THE CAR RAN HOT ON ME AND THE DEALERSHIP SAID THE CAR HAD WHAT THEY CALL COOLANT INTRUSION. I HAD TO TO GET A NEW BLOCK FOR THE VEHICLE.

THE MANUFACTURER STATED THAT THE RECALL REPAIR WAS A ONE TIME FREE REPAIR AND THERE WAS NO ADDITIONAL ASSISTANCE PROVIDED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 38,522.
THE VEHICLE WAS IN MOTION ON THE HIGHWAY WHEN THERE WAS A CLUNK FROM THE POWERTRAIN AND THE ENGINE LIGHT AND "HAZARD DO NOT DRIVE" LIGHT CAME ON. I PULLED OVER AND HAD THE VEHICLE TOWED. THERE HAD BEEN A ODD, SORT OF HARD TO HEAR WHINING NOISE WHEN DEPRESSING THE ACCELERATOR COMING FROM SOME PART OF THE POWERTRAIN FOR AROUND 20,000 MILES OR SO. I DIDN'T THINK A WHOLE LOT ABOUT IT SINCE THERE WERE NO WARNING INDICATORS OR ENGINE LIGHTS ON AND BESIDES THE WHINING NOISE THE VEHICLE RAN NORMAL. I HAD THE VEHICLE TAKEN TO A FORD DEALERSHIP FOR A REPAIR ESTIMATE AND WAS TOLD I NEEDED TO HAVE THE TRANSMISSION REPLACED WITH A BRAND NEW ONE AT THE COST OF ALMOST WHAT THE VEHICLE'S RESALE VALUE WAS. I LATER HAD IT TAKEN TO A TRANSMISSION REPAIR SPECIALIST WHERE THEY WOULD REMOVE THE TRANSMISSION THEN REPAIR THE INTERNAL COMPONENTS IN THE TRANSMISSION AT A LESSER COST THAN REPLACING IT WITH A BRAND NEW ONE. I WAS TOLD THE "TRANSFER GEAR BEARING" FAILED AND HAD TO BE REPLACED A LONG WITH OTHER "FAIL POINTS" KNOWN TO FAIL IN THIS PARTICULAR MODEL TRANSMISSION.

THE TECHNICIAN TURNED THE STEERING WHEEL AND THE POWER STEERING ASSIST WARNING LIGHT ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE DEALER LINDQUIST FORD INC (3950 MIDDLE RD, BETTENDORF, IA 52722) WAS CONTACTED AND INFORMED THE CONTACT THAT THE VIN WAS NOT UNDER RECALL. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 95,000.
BACK UP CAMERA WOULD BE IN PARK. AS SONN AS I PUT THE CAR IN REVERSE THE SCREEN WOULD GO BLACK OTHER TIMES IT WOULD GO IN AND OUT. SUNROOF SEAL IS LEAKING!!! ENGINE- I NOTICES WHEN IM AT THE STOP LIGHT TURNS GREEN MY VEHICLE TAKE A FEW SECONDS TO ACCELERATE, IT MAKES A HORRIBLE PULL STRAIGHTFORWARD MOTION. I NOTICES THE BODY PAINT CHIPS HORRIBLE IN ODD PLACES ON THE VEHICLE.
