I WAS DRIVING AT APPX 30 MPH ON A CITY STREET, UPON STARTING TO STOP, I HEAR A LOUD NOISE AND I LOST THE ABILITY TO STEER MY CAR. THE BOLT THAT HOLDS THE POWER STEERING ASSIST MOTOR TO THE RACK AND PINION BROKE AND LEFT ME WITH NO STEERING CAPABILITIES. FORD ISSUED A RECALL (15S14) FOR THIS BOLT CORROSION PROBLEM. IT WAS REPLACED IN 2016, HOWEVER THE SAME EXACT PROBLEM OCCURRED AGAIN AND UPON INSPECTING BOLT IT WAS DETERMINED THAT IT WAS IN FACT CORRODED AND CRACKED 3/4 OF THE WAY BEFORE THE FINAL BREAK. THIS IS A SERIOUS SAFETY ISSUE WITHIN THE FUSION LINE OF CARS, THE RECOMMENDED "FIX" ACTION THAT WAS TAKEN IS NOT ADEQUATE TO MITIGATE THIS PROBLEM FROM FURTHER HAPPENING AND POTENTIALLY CAUSING SERIOUS CONSEQUENCES TO DRIVERS WHO ASSUME THIS ISSUE HAS BEEN "FIXED" BECAUSE THEY'VE TAKEN THEIR CAR IN FOR RECALL MEASURES. THIS ISSUE WILL CAUSE SERIOUS DAMAGE OR LOSS OF LIFE IF NOT REMEDIED BY FORD IMMEDIATELY.
IN AUG 2020 THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON IN MY 2015 FORD FUSION AFTER IT STARTED ROUGH. I BROUGHT IT TO THE FORD DEALERSHIP FOR SERVICE. THEY SAID THE SPARK PLUGS AND COILS SHOULD BE REPLACED (CHECK ENGINE CODE WAS P0303, CYLINDER MISFIRE). A MONTH LATER THE SAME ISSUE OCCURRED AGAIN. CALLED THE DEALERSHIP AND THE SERVICE MGR SAID 'OH, THERE HAVE BEEN PROBLEMS WITH THE FUSION ECOBOOST ENGINES. COOLANT LEAKS INTO THE CYLINDERS AND DAMAGES THEM. HE SAID THE DESIGN OF THE ENGINE BLOCK HAS SCORE GROOVES BETWEEN THE CYLINDERS EVENTUALLY CAUSING THE LEAK AND CORROSION TO START. HE THEN PROCEEDED TO INFORM ME THAT THE LONG BLOCK AND HEAD GASKET WOULD NEED TO BE REPLACED AND THE STARTING COST WOULD $5,000+. BUT LIKELY CLOSER TO $7000. FURTHER HE SAID FORD WAS AWARE OF THE ISSUE BUT NOT RECALLING OR COVERING THE REPLACEMENT COST. HE SAID HE HAD 8 OTHER VEHICLES ON THE LOT NEEDING THE SAME REPAIR AND EVEN IF THEY HAD THE PARTS IN STOCK, WHICH THEY DON'T AND IT WOULD TAKE SOME TIME TO GET THEM, IF WOULD BE 6 WEEKS TO COMPLETE THE REPAIR. THE REPLACEMENT WOULD BE THE ENTIRE ENGINE WHICH FORD HAS CORRECTED THE ISSUE AND REMOVED THE SCORED GROOVES. I HAVE MAINTAINED MY FUSION WITH THE SAME FORD DEALERSHIP AND HAD ALL ROUTINE MAINTENANCE AND CARE DONE THERE. THIS ENGINE ISSUE WAS THERE AT THE TIME IT WAS MANUFACTURED AND WAS A TIME BOMB. I SHOULD NOT HAVE TO INCUR THE EXPENSE OR FINANCIAL LOSS TO REPLACE THE ENGINE. IF LEFT UNREPAIRED THE ENGINE WILL EVENTUALLY CEASE AND DEPENDING ON WHERE THAT OCCURS COULD BE DANGEROUS TO ME AND SURROUNDING DRIVERS. I HAVE PARKED MY VEHICLE FOR NOW UNTIL THE SERVICE MANAGER LETS ME KNOW WHAT FORD WILL DO, IF ANYTHING. HE SAID THEY MIGHT GIVE ME SOME HELP BUT I WOULD HAVE TO COVER MOST OF THE EXPENSE!!! I
The contact owns a 2015 Ford Fusion. The contact stated upon starting the vehicle, the vehicle failed to accelerate while the accelerator pedal was depressed due to an engine misfire. The contact also stated that a quarter of a gallon of coolant was added within two weeks with the vehicle leaking coolant. The contact stated that the check engine warning light was illuminated. The vehicle was then taken to a local dealer where it was diagnosed with the spark plugs needing to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired however, the failure occurred. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic where it was diagnosed with the engine needing to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The contact related the failure to an unknown technical service bulletin. The manufacturer was informed of the failure and referred the contact to the NHTSA. The failure mileage was approximately 75,000.
STALLS OR WON'T START AFTER FILLING GAS TANK. SOMETIMES IT TAKES 5 TO 10 .MINUTES TO START. HAS STALLED NUMEROUS TIMES WHEN I WAS AT A INTERSECTION AND TRIED TO PULL OUT. GETS P1450 ERROR CODE..
FORD FUSION 2015 1.5L. COOLANT SYSTEM PRESSURE TESTED AND COOLANT FOUND LEAKING INTO CYLINDER NUMBER 1, DUE TO MANUFACTURING FAULT. 73,3000 MILES ON CLOCK. APPARENTLY A NEW ENGINE IS NEEDED. FORD WILL NOT COVER THE COST OF THE ENGINE REPLACEMENT UNTIL THEY ARE FORCED TO. ENGINE CAN CATCH ON FIRE.
THE BRAKE HOSE RUPTURED WHILE PARKED.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2015 FORD FUSION. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE ATTEMPTING TO PLACE THE VEHICLE IN PARK, THE BRAKE PEDAL WAS DEPRESSED AND THE BRAKE HOSE FRACTURED WHICH CAUSED BRAKE FLUID TO LEAK FROM THE VEHICLE. THE FOLLOWING DAY THE CONTACT STATED SHE ATTEMPTED TO POUR ADDITIONAL FLUID IN THE RESERVOIR HOWEVER, SHE WAS UNABLE TO RESTART THE VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE MADE AN ABNORMAL NOISE AND WAS UNABLE TO BE DRIVEN. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO FAIR OAKS FORD LINCOLN (2055 W. OGDEN AVE, NAPERVILLE, IL 60540). THE DIAGNOSIS WAS A RIGHT FRONT BRAKE HOSE RUPTURE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE AND OFFERED NO ASSISTANCE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 32,000. *LN THE MANUFACTURER OFFERED A DISCOUNT ON THE REPAIR BUT SAID THAT THE REPAIR WAS NOT COVERED UNDER THE EXTENDED WARRANTY. *DL
8/15/2019 MY SON TOOK MY CAR TO AUTO CLINIC OF BOCA RATON INC.=COMPUTER DIAGNOSTIC SCAN, NO CHARGE=REPLACED CYLINDER TO IGNITION COIL-TOTAL WAS $90.95(12MONTH OR 12,000MILES LIM. WARTY.). ON 10/24/2019 MY SON TOOK MY CAR TO THE GRAYCO FORD OF DELRAY BEACH FOR RECALLS. ENGINE LIGHT WAS BACK ON,THEY WANTED $TO FIND OUT Y THE LIGHT WAS ON. SO MY SON LEFT &ON HIS NEXT DAY OFF HE TOOK THE CAR BACK TO THE AUTO CLINIC AGAIN. THEY DID A DIAGNOSTIC SCAN=FREE&THIS TIME=REPLACED CYLS.1,3&4 IGNITION/COILS= $272.85 THIS TIME MILEAGE IN & OUT WAS 53,473. MY SON MILEAGE IN FOR MY CAR AT GRAYCO FORD OF DELRAY BEACH WAS 54,824 ON 10/24/19. MOTOR WAS UNDER WARRANTY UP UNTIL 60,000 MILES. SO I DON'T UNDERSTAND WHY THEY WOULDN'T OF LOOKED AT THAT CHECK ENGINE LIGHT OR THE MOTOR OF MY CAR FOR MY SON WHO WAS AWAY AT COLLEGE IN FLORIDA FOR 3YRS. I BOUGHT THAT CAR IN ORDER FOR HIM TO GO TO FLORIDA AND WORK AND GO TO SCHOOL LYNN UNIVERSITY TO GET HIS MASTERS DEGREE AT 23 YEARS OLD. I THOUGHT I BOUGHT A SAFE VEHICLE FOR HIS TRAVELS. MY SON GOT HIS NORMAL OIL CHANGE OF EVERY 3 MONTHS ON 4/15/20@1:03PM. ENGINE LIGHT ON AFTER HE LEFT SO HE TOOK IT TO THE AUTO CLINIC AGAIN @2:05 THEY REPLACED SPARK PLUGS FOR $58.44 MILEAGE IN 58,325 IN AND OUT. HE MOVED HOME TO OH THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT ON AGAIN! I TOOK IT TO CLASSIC,MENTOR OH THEY TELL ME MY FORD ENGINE HAS A PROBLEM SOMETHING WARPS INSIDE A CHAMBER AND LETS COOLANT GO INTO THE MOTOR! THEY WANT $5200 TO FIX IT. I CALLED FORD&IT'S 2000 MILES OUT WARRANTY. THEY SAID CAN'T/WON'T HELP W/ THIS WELL-KNOWN PROBLEM FOR 2013-2019 FUSIONS! I TALKD TO THE GRAYCO FORD OF DELRAY, VERY RUDE (DAVID ALIVA) & BOSS VERY RUDE AS WELL. I GOT A RUDE EMAIL,THAT THEY WILL NOT HELP ME! EVEN THOUGH THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT WAS ON AND IT WAS UNDER 60,000 MILES! CAR SITTING AT MENTOR CLASSIC(SINCE 08/20)THEY TELL ME IT IS A FIRE HAZARD TO DRIVE! I DON'T KNOW WHAT TO DO!
THIS IS A REOCCURRING ISSUE WITH THE DIRECT FUEL INJECTION SYSTEM (GDI). THE HIGH PRESSURE PUMP IS GROUND INTO THE TOP OF THE CAMSHAFT CAM AND CAUSING FUEL RAIL FAILURE, ENGINE CODES P0087 & P219A. THE DEALERSHIP HAS REPAIRED THIS ONCE UNDER WARRANTY. FORD REFUSES TO REPAIR AGAIN, SINCE MY WARRANTY EXPIRED WHILE WE WERE IN STATE LOCKDOWN ORDER. THIS GDI DIRECT FUEL INJECTION VS. MULTI-PORT INJECTION WAS RUSHED TO MARKET TO MEET THE NEW FUEL ECONOMY MANDATES SET BY CONGRESS AND IT HAS FAILED ON THIS VEHICLE 3 TIMES NOW, CAUSING SERIOUSLY DANGEROUS DRIVING CONDITIONS. FMC WONT REPAIR AGAIN EVEN THOUGH THEY KNOW OF THIS SYSTEMIC ISSUE. I AM ATTACHING A COPY OF THE DIAGNOSTICS FROM FORD WITH THE EXTENSIVE REPAIR/PARTS LIST. I SEE ON ALMOST EVERY FORD COMPLAINT WEBSITE THE ISSUES WITH THE EARLY GDI FUEL SYSTEMS ON THEIR ECO BOOST MODELS. MY CAR ONLY HAS 54000 MILES AND THIS IS THE THIRD TIME FOR NEEDED REPAIRS. BOUGHT MY VEHICLE NEW 5.5 YEARS AGO AND HAS 84,000 MILES. NOTICED A RUMBLING COMING FROM THE ENGINE AND THEN THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON. I LOOKED UNDER THE HOOD AND SAW I WAS DANGEROUSLY LOW ON COOLANT. TOOK IT TO THE SHOP AND TURNS OUT THAT DUE TO A DEFECT WITH THE 1.5L ECOBOOST ENGINES, COOLANT WAS LEAKING INTO THE CYLINDER 3 CAUSING IT TO MISFIRE. THE ISSUE IS EXACTLY WHAT IS DESCRIBED ON THE FORD TSB #20-2100. SINCE I'M JUST PASSED MY WARRANTY I AM NOW STUCK PAYING FOR A NEW ENGINE ON A 5.5 YEAR OLD VEHICLE.
ENGINE WENT OUT AT 5 YEARS AND 90000 MILES. ONE OF NUMEROUS 1.5 L FORD ENGINES IN THE SHOP AT THAT TIME.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS 2015 FORD FUSION. THE CONTACT STATED WHILE DRIVING AT 65 MPH THEN COMING TO COMPLETED STOP, THE VEHICLE STARTED VIBRATING. THE CONTACT STATED NO WARNING LIGHT WAS ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE FAILURE REOCCURRED AFTER THE VEHICLE WAS TURNED OFF AND RESTARTED. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT A LONG BLOCK ENGINE NEEDED TO BE REPLACED DUE TO COOLANT LEAKING TO THE SECOND CYLINDER. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A LOCAL DEALER (ELK GROVE FORD LOCATED AT 9645 AUTO CENTER DR, ELK GROVE, CA 95757) WHERE THERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE ENGINE NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE HAD NOT BEEN REPAIRED AS OF YET. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE AND FILED A CASE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 116,000.
CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON. MISFIRE CYLINDER 1. 2 DAYS LATER THE CAR OVERHEATED. THE COOLANT WENT FROM FULL TO EMPTY. COLLANT WENT INTO ENGINE. CAR WAS BEING DRIVEN ON THE HIGHWAY.
CAR STALLED ENGINE STALLED GOING AROUND 50 MPH ON THE INTERSTATE BROUGHT TO FORD DEALERSHIP THEY ADVISED TO REPLACE THE ENGINE DESPITE THE CAR ONLY BEING A 2015 MODEL AND HAVING 80K MILES. I CONTACTED FORD IN HOPES OF GETTING SOME SORT OF ASSISTANCE BUT THEY REFUSED TO HELP. I COULD HAVE BEEN HIT FROM BEHIND AS THE CAR STALLED MULTIPLE TIMES ON THE WAY TO THE DEALERSHIP.
TRUNK OPENED WHILE GOING DOWN A HIGHWAY. HAS OPENED ON ITS OWN MULTIPLE TIMES WHILE IN MOTION, TWICE WHILE STATIONARY.
THE VEHICLE ELECTRICAL SYSTEM SHUTS DOWN AND THERE IS NO POWER AT ALL TO ANY SYSTEM. THIS HAS HAPPENED NUMEROUS TIMES. THE LAST TIME THE DEALER REPROGRAMMED THE COMPUTER AND THOUGHT THAT FIXED IT. BUT IT DIED AGAIN LAST WEEK.
UPON NUMEROUS ROUGH START UPS MY FORD FUSION WITH A 1.5L ECOBOOST ENGINE, MY CHECK ENGINE LIGHT ILLUMINATED. I SCHEDULED DIAGNOSTIC SERVICE AT MY PREFERRED FORD DEALER AND THEY DISCOVERED MIS FIRINGS IN THE CYLINDERS. THEY INFORMED ME THIS IS A VERY COMMON PROBLEM WITH THE FORD 1.5L ECOBOOST ENGINE. THERE HAVE BEEN MULTIPLE TSBS ON THIS ISSUE WHICH REQUIRES A NEW ENGINE REBUILD. THERE ALREADY WAS A RECALL WITH THE 1.6L ECOBOOST ENGINE. I WAS JUST INFORMED BY THE DEALER THAT FORD WILL NOT COVER ANY EXPENSES RELATED TO THE REPAIR. THE CAR IS A 2015 WITH 68K MILES WITH ALL SCHEDULED MAINTENANCE PERFORMED BY FORD. THIS IS DISHEARTENING TO SAY THE LEAST WITH A COMPLETE PRODUCT FAILURE.
I WAS DRIVING AND MY DOOR FLEW OPEN AND WILL NOT LATCH. I AM NOW UNABLE TO CLOSE THE DOOR.
WHEN I CRANK MY CAR IT STARTS SHAKING REALLY BAD AND MISSING MY CHECK ENGINE LIGHT COMES ON AND GOES OFF TOOK IT TO MECHANIC AND THEY SAID IT WAS LEAKING COOLANT INTO CYLINDER AND THE MOTOR NEEDS TO BE REPLACED. I'M AFRAID THAT IT'S GONNA TO STOP GOING DOWN THE ROAD. I'M A SINGLE PARENT AND ON A FIXED INCOME THE COST OF A NEW ENGINE IS HALF OF WHAT I OWE.

I HAVE MADE SEVERAL COMPLAINTS ABOUT MY 2015 FORD FUSION. THE AIR CONDITIONER WILL RANDOMLY SHUT OFF, AND WHEN THIS HAPPENS, I ALSO CANNOT USE ANY OF MY 4 WINDOWS, THE RADIO, LOCK THE CAR FROM THE INSIDE, AND NOW MY OUTSIDE LIGHTS WONT ALWAYS TURN ON. FOR WHATEVER REASON, THIS HAPPENS MORE IN THE SUMMER MONTHS. I HAVE TWO TODDLERS AND WE TRAVEL LONG DISTANCE FAIRLY REGULARLY. WHAT HAPPENS IF ITS A HOT SUMMER DAY, THE AC SHUTS OFF AND I CANT ROLL DOWN MY WINDOWS, ESPECIALLY WHEN I HAVE MY CHILDREN? 6/19/2020 I HAD A DOCTORS APPOINTMENT ONE HOUR AWAY AND THIS HAPPENED TO ME; LUCKILY I DID NOT HAVE MY CHILDREN WITH. I OFTEN WORK EVENINGS AND NIGHTS, HALF AN HOUR AWAY FROM HOME. I CAN'T DRIVE WITH NO HEADLIGHTS. THERE IS 0 PATTERN IN THESE ISSUES SO I CANNOT PINPOINT WHAT EXACTLY TRIGGERS THIS. PULLING OVER AND COMPLETELY SHUTTING OFF THE CAR, TAKING THE KEYS OUT OF THE IGNITION, AND WAITING FOR ALL ELECTRICITY TO SHUT OFF BEFORE RESTARTING THE CAR DOES NOT MAKE A DIFFERENCE. I HAD TO BRING MY CAR IN 3 TIMES FOR THIS, EACH TIME BEING TOLD "NOTHING FOUND THAT WAS WRONG WITH THE CAR" UNTIL I CALLED THE FORD COMPANY, MADE A COMPLAINT, AND RECEIVED A CASE NUMBER, AND AM NOW BEING TOLD THE INTERNAL COMPUTER SYSTEM IS "SHOT". THE MORE I RESEARCHED ONLINE ABOUT THESE ISSUES, THE MORE I SEE OTHER'S MAKING SAME/SIMILAR COMPLAINTS FOR THE SAME VEHICLE. *TR
I CALLED MY DEALER TO SCHEDULE A SERVICE APPOINTMENT FOR SAFETY RECALL NOTICE 20S15 NHTSA RECALL 20V-177 DOOR LATCH REPLACEMENT. I WAS INFORMED THAT THEY ARE NOT REPLACING THE DOOR LATCH UNLESS I AM HAVING ISSUES. ISN'T THIS A RISK AND WOULDN'T THEM REPLACING THE DOOR LATCH NOW RESOLVE ANY PROBLEMS, IF THERE ARE ANY, IN THE FUTURE? THE DEALER IS FORD OF UPLAND | 555 W. FOOTHILL BLVD., UPLAND, CA 91786. *TR
CHECK ENGINE LIGHT ON WHILE ON HIGHWAY, AFTER GETTING OFF THERE WAS A VERY ROUGH IDLE. TOWED TO FRONTIER FORD IN SAN JOSE, CA. FOUND P0302, P0315 PCM. ENGINE MISFIRE. #2 CYLINDER WAS FOUND TO HAVE COOLANT INSIDE. A NEW ENGINE LOG BLOCK IS NEEDED TO CORRECT THIS CONCERN. THIS ENGINE CLEARLY HAS A NUMBER OF ISSUES, REPORTED BY MANY OTHER OWNERS. IT WOULD SEEM THAT THIS ENGINE HAS ABOUT A 5 YEAR LIFE REGARDLESS OF MILEAGE. A RECALL NEEDS TO BE ISSUED IN ORDER FOR FORD TO PAY FOR THIS FAULTY ENGINE. THIS IS A VERY DIFFICULT TIME FOR MANY PEOPLE ACROSS THE COUNTRY AND IT'S ONLY RIGHT THAT FORD IS RESPONSIBLE FOR CORRECTING THIS ISSUE. *TR
I OPENED THE REAR DRIVER DOOR, PLACED GROCERIES IN THE BACK SEAT, AND ATTEMPTED TO SHUT THE DOOR. THE DOOR WOULDN'T LATCH SHUT AT THIS POINT. THE LATCH WAS IN THE OPEN POSITION AND I COULD EMULATE THE STRIKING PLATE WITH A SCREWDRIVER AND IT WOULD CLOSE, BUT THERE WASN'T ANY RESISTANCE WHEN SLIDING THE SCREW DRIVER OUT. I SUSPECT THAT SUPPORTING SPRING BROKE. THE DEALERSHIP CONFIRMED THE ISSUE WAS THE DOOR LATCH AND NEITHER THE DEALERSHIP OR FORD CUSTOMER SUPPORT WOULD CONSIDER MY CAR WAS AFFECTED BY THE SAME ISSUE AS MANY OTHER RECALLED FORD VEHICLES BECAUSE THE VIN WAS NOT ASSOCIATED WITH A RECALLED FACTORY. I JUST WANT TO MAKE SURE THAT DUE DILIGENCE IS DONE TO ENSURE THAT THERE IS NOT ANOTHER BATCH OF VEHICLES WITH A SAFETY ISSUE THAT HAS ALREADY BEEN DEEMED WORTHY OF A RECALL. *TR
Engine overheated on highway. Cracked engine block. Could have been hit by other vehicles. Short Block replaced by Ford dealer which I had to pay for. There were prior engine codes [usually P302] . A local auto repair shop replaced coils but wasn't able to find cause.
BOUGHT MY FORD FUSION USED FROM A DEALERSHIP AT END OF DECEMBER WITH 78K MILES. CHECK ENGINE LIGHT WAS ILLUMINATING SO I TOOK THE CAR TO FORD DEALERSHIP TO HAVE A DIAGNOSTIC DONE BECAUSE THE CAR WAS SHAKING AND KEPT MISFIRING AND MY COOLANT KEPT BECOMING LOW ONLY AFTER A FEW DAYS. UPON DIAGNOSIS I WAS INFORMED THAT THERE WAS COOLANT LEAK SHOOTING OUT TO CYLINDER 4 AND CAUSED DAMAGE TO THE SPARK PLUG THAT WAS CAUSED BY AN ENGINE DEFECT. MY EXTENDED WARRANTY CAME OUT AND LOOKED AT THE ISSUE AGREED THE ENGINE NEEDED TO BE REPLACED BUT THEY DENIED THE CLAIM BECAUSE THIS IS AN ENGINE DEFECT THAT FORD IS AWARE OF FOR THIS MODEL PER THE TSB BULLETIN FORD PUT OUT. TOOK VEHICLE TO DEALERSHIP DUE TO CHECK ENGINE LIGHT BEING ILLUMINATED. WAS TOLD THERE WAS COOLANT LEAKING INTO MY 4TH CYLINDER. ALSO INFORMED THERE WAS A TECHNICAL BULLETIN OUT FOR THIS KNOWN ISSUE. CONCERNED ABOUT A FIRE. PER THEIR 2014 FORD FUSION RECALL: "IN THE AFFECTED VEHICLES, A LACK OF COOLANT CIRCULATION COULD CAUSE AN ENGINE TO OVERHEAT, RESULTING IN A CRACK IN THE CYLINDER HEAD," FORD REPORTED. "A CRACKED CYLINDER HEAD CAN RESULT IN A PRESSURIZED OIL LEAK. OIL THAT COMES INTO CONTACT WITH A HOT ENGINE SURFACE INCREASES THE RISK OF A FIRE IN THE ENGINE COMPARTMENT." THIS IS THE SAME ISSUE AS MY VEHICLE, YET THERE HAS NOT BEEN A RECALL ON MY YEAR OF VEHICLE AT THIS TIME.

THEY DECLINED TO HELP ME KNOWING THIS WAS A ON GOING PROBLEM. MY ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON. SO I WENT TO 2 DIFFERENT COMPANIES AND THEY TOLD ME THAT THERE WAS A MISFIRE IN CYLINDER 2. I REPLACED THE COILS AND PLUGS. THEY TOLD ME THAT IT WOULD COST $6,731 TO FIX A PROBLEM THAT MULTIPLE PEOPLE WITH THE SAME CAR AND MULTIPLE DIFFERENT YEARS ARE HAVING. THE CAR STILL MOVES BUT NOW IT'S OVERHEATING EVERY 3 MINUTES.

TURNED ON CAR AS NORMAL, TURNED OFF ELECTRONIC PARKING BRAKE, BACKED UP AND STARTED DRIVING ON A RELATIVELY FLAT AND STRAIGHT 25 MPH CITY STREET ABOUT TO ENTER HIGHWAY 17 OVER SANTA CRUZ MOUNTAINS. PULLED OVER WHEN BRAKE PEDAL MOVED ALL THE WAY DOWN TO THE FLOOR WITH NEAR ZERO BRAKING ABILITY. CAR WARNING SYSTEM DID FLASH LOW BRAKE FLUID SIGN. THEY BLED IT & PUT NEW. I AM STILL HAVING THE SAME ISSUE. GOT IT FIXED 3 TIMES! TO FIND OUT IT IS THE COOLANT LEAKING INTO THE CYLINDER/ENGINE. MY COOLANT IS EMPTY EVERY 20MILES! HEARD A POP WHEN I PRESSED ON THE BRAKE PEDAL WHEN I WAS STOPPED. BROKE THE BRAKE LINE. BRAKE FLUID LEAKED OUT EVERYWHERE AND EVENTUALLY LOST ALL USE OF THE BRAKES. THE SHOP SAID THAT THAT THE RUBBER HOSE ON BOTH SIDES WERE SWOLLEN. THE PASSENGER SIDE WAS WEAK AND BROKE.

I LEASED A USED VEHICLE ON 6/5 AND WAS KEPT THERE TILL AUTOPLAZA'S CLOSING TIME AT 7 SO WHEN I FINALLY LEFT THE CAR LOT I REALIZED WHILE DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY THAT THERE WAS NO HORN. I IMMEDIATELY CALLED THE SALES MAN AND I QUOTE HE SAID 'IT'S MORE THAN LIKELY THE ALTERNATOR AND THAT HE WAS ALREADY TRACKING ME ON GPS' SO I WAS TOLD TO LOCK THE KEYS IN THE CAR AND IT WOULD BE TOWED BACK TO THE DEALERSHIP TO BE READY BY 6/8. FAST FORWARD TO THE AFTERNOON OF 6/8, I CALL THE DEALERSHIP A HOUR BEFORE GETTING OFF WORK AT 3:30PM TO VERIFY IT WOULD BE READY BY 5 AND TO MY SURPRISE I WAS TOLD THEY WERE UNSURE IF THEY HAD THE CAR TO BEGIN WITH AND WAS PUT ON HOLD TILL THE PHONE CALL DROPPED FROM THEIR END. I CALLED BACK AGAIN AND WAS MET WITH A VOICEMAIL SO I LEFT IT ALONE AND TRIED TO GET INFORMATION AGAIN ON 6/10. THIS TIME THE SALES MAN SAID IT WASN'T HIS PROBLEM AND TO CALL THE OFFICE FOR SERVICE BUT AFTER BEING FORWARDED TO VOICEMAIL MULTIPLE TIMES I DEMANDED TO SPEAK WITH A MANAGER. I TELL THE MANAGER I'M AWARE IT'S ILLEGAL TO SELL A CAR WITHOUT A HORN AND THAT I'VE BEEN DUPED SO I WANT MY MONEY BACK AND HIS ANSWER WAS NO THAT HE ALREADY RECEIVED MONEY FROM A BANK ON MY BEHALF. I TOOK IT TO THE LOCAL FORD DEALER ' PENSKE FORD IN LA MESA, CA - FOR INSPECTION. THE SERVICE ADVISOR HAD HIS TEAM PRESSURE TEST AND BOROSCOPE THE ENGINE AND FOUND COOLANT RESIDUE IN CYLINDER 1. HE SAID THAT THEY CHECKED FOR THE FIX TO THE ISSUE AND FOUND A SERVICE BULLETIN ABOUT IT (I FOUND IT ON NHTSA WEBSITE ' BULLETIN 20-2100), WHICH DIRECTED THEM TO REPLACE THE SHORT-BLOCK - $7,000 ISH DOLLARS TO FIX. WITH JUST A SMALL AMOUNT OF RESEARCH I DISCOVERED THAT THIS IS A PROBLEM MANY FORD OWNERS ARE HAVING RIGHT NOW WITH THIS ENGINE - 1.5L I4 F DOHC 16V. THE CAR WAS PARKED IN A LOT. I STARTED IT, PUT IT IN REVERSE, AND THE CHECK BRAKE SYSTEM WARNING MESSAGE CAME UP. THE BRAKES MADE A LOUD METALLIC SCREECHING SOUND WHEN I BEGAN BACKING. WHEN I TRIED TO APPLY THE BRAKE, IT WAS SLUGGISH AND DIFFICULT TO STOP THE VEHICLE. I HAD IT TOWED TO A NEARBY FORD DEALERSHIP, WHERE THEY REPLACED A BRAKE SWITCH. NINE DAYS LATER, THE EXACT SAME THING HAPPENED, THIS TIME AT MY HOME. THE CAR WAS TOWED TO MY MECHANIC (NOT THE FORD HOUSE), WHO FOUND A CODE IN HISTORY INDICATING THAT THE PROBLEM HAD A TECHNICIAN NOTICE THAT STATES TO REPLACE POWER BRAKE BOOSTER. HE COULD NOT MAKE THE CAR DUPLICATE THE ISSUE AFTER CLEARING THE CODES, SO I CHOSE NOT TO REPLACE IT. THIS PART AND REPAIR WILL BE OVER $800! WHEN MY MECHANIC CALLED THE FORD HOUSE TO FIND THE CODE THEY USED TO DETERMINE THAT A BRAKE SWITCH WAS OUT, HE WAS TOLD THEY DID NOT MAKE A NOTE OF THE CODE. MY MECHANIC WENT ON TO TELL ME THAT I SHOULD STILL HAVE BRAKES IF THIS HAPPENS AGAIN, BUT THEY WILL NOT BE ASSISTED BY THE BOOSTER AND WILL REQUIRE LONGER DISTANCES TO STOP. SINCE THERE IS A TECHNICIAN'S SAFETY ALERT ALREADY POSTED, THIS HAS TO HAVE OCCURRED ON OTHER VEHICLES, SO THERE SHOULD BE A SAFETY RECALL TO REPLACE THIS BOOSTER. FORD DID CHANGE THE BOOSTER USED THE YEAR AFTER MY VEHICLE WAS MANUFACTURED. AFTER 5 YEARS, HEAD GASKET LEAK INTO CYLINDER. FORD HAS ACKNOWLEDGED THROUGH SEVERAL TSB'S ON THIS KNOWN ISSUE. FORD HAS PUT OUT A CUSTOMER SATISFACTION PROGRAM TO CHANGE COMPUTER SETTING TO PREVENT THIS DAMAGE FROM OCCURRING. THIS COVERS 2014-2017 FUSION MODELS WITH 1.5L ENGINES, HOWEVER THEY LEFT OUT SOME VIN NUMBERS THAT THE DIDN'T THINK WOULD HAVE THIS ISSUE. MINE HAS THE EXACT ISSUE AS DESCRIBED IN THEIR TSB'S AND PROGRAM. THEY DIDN'T NOTIFY EVERYONE WHICH CAUSED THE DAMAGED HEAD GASKET. THEY ARE NOT OFFERING TO WARRANTY THEIR DEFECT AND THE DAMAGE DONE FROM THAT DEFECT.

COOLANT LEAK. VEHICLE SERVICED 3 WEEKS AGO, AND COOLANT IS CONSTANTLY LEAKING CAUSING ENGINE TO OVERHEAT. THIS HAS HAPPEN TWICE SINCE VEHICLE WAS SERVICED.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2015 FORD FUSION. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHEN THE VEHICLE WAS STARTED, THE VEHICLE SHOOK VIOLENTLY AND MISFIRED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO ALLAN JAY FORD LINCOLN (3201 US HWY 27S, SEBRING, FL 33870), WHERE IT WAS DETERMINED THAT THE CYLINDER NUMBER TWO WAS DEFECTIVE. THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THE ENGINE NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 140,000.
