STARTED CAR, GOT DASHBOARD LIGHT ON 7.6.19 MILEAGE 27721. CAR RUNNING ROUGH, ABOUT TO STALL,ETC. ERROR CODE P0302. CYL.#2 IGNITION COIL REPLACED. THEN, 2 WEEKS LATER GOT DASHBOARD LIGHT AGAIN, SAME CODE P0302. MECHANIC (PRIVATE)REPLACED PERCEIVED FAULTY IGNITION COIL AS PREVIOUS. ON 9.23 .19 CAR STARTED,. CAR RUNS ROUGH, ALMOST STALLS DASHBOARD LIGHTS AGAIN. THIS TIME WE TAKE IT TO ROYAL OAK FORD SERVICE DEPT. THEY GET P0302 AND ADVISE US TO CHANGE SPARK PLUGS. $307.29 CHARGE. UPON INSPECTION OF SPARK PLUGS I NOTE ALL PLUGS ARE HEAVILY COATED IN CARBON. I CHECK THE TAILPIPE AND THE INSIDE IS ALSO HEAVILY CARBON COATED. SHORTLY AFTER I FIND INFORMATION THAT MOST DIRECT INJECT ENGINES HAVE THIS PROBLEM. IT WAS NOT HARD INFO TO FIND. BECAUSE OF DIRECT INJECTION THE VALVES DO NOT RECEIVE THE BENEFIT OF DETERGENT GASOLINES AND BECOME HEAVILY COATED IN CARBON. THIS IS AN OVERSIMPLIFIED EXPLANATION OF WHAT IS OCCURRING., BUT MAKES THE POINT. I CONFIRM FINDINGS WITH AND SHOW PLUGS TO, MY MECHANIC WHO CONFIRMS ;THAT THESE DIRECT INJECT ENGINES HAVE AN ISSUE THE MANUFACTURERS CAN'T OR HAVEN'T CORRECTED, WHICH RESULTS IN THE CONDITION MY SPARK PLUGS WERE FOUND IN. I FOUND NOTSB'S ON THE SUBJECT. MECHANIC RECOMMENDS A GDI SERVICE, WHICH INCLUDES PULLING ALL VALVES AND CLEANING THEM. HE ALSO RECOMMENDS ANYONE WITH A DI ENGINE TO DO THIS AT LEAST ONCE A YEAR TO KEEP VEHICLE RUNNING SMOOTHLY AND TO GET MAXIMUM LIFE OUT OF THE PLUGS. BY THE WAY, FIRST SERVICE INTERVAL FOR PLUGS ON THIS CAR IS 100,000 MILES. THIS IS THE EXPERIENCE I'VE BEEN EXPOSED TO SO FAR, BUT DO KNOW THAT IT CAN GET MUCH WORSE (AFFECTING OTHER PARTS OF THE ENGINE) FWIW THE MECHANIC BELIEVES THE MANUFACTURERS (IN THIS CASE FORD) ARE WELL AWARE OF THESE ISSUES WITH DIRECT INJECT DESIGNED ENGINES. TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2015 FORD FUSION. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE CHECK ENGINE WARNING INDICATOR ILLUMINATED WHILE DRIVING. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHERE A CODE FOR THE PURGE VALVE FAILURE WAS LOCATED. THE PURGE VALVE NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED. IN ADDITION, EACH TIME THE VEHICLE WAS FUELED, IT FAILED TO RESTART. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN BACK TO THE SAME INDEPENDENT MECHANIC AND A DIAGNOSTIC TEST LOCATED A PURGE VALVE FAILURE AGAIN. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT TAKEN TO A DEALER. THE CONTACT ALSO STATED THAT THE CHECK ENGINE WARNING INDICATOR ILLUMINATED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURES. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 90,000.
I WAS MAKING A RIGHT HAND TURN AND MY LEFT BACK DOOR FLU OPEN,AND WILL NOT CLOSE. MY FRIEND HAD TO SIT IN THE BACK SEAT TO HOLD DOOR CLOSED.
WHILE DRIVING WITH MY 12 Y.O. GRANDDAUGHTER, THE PASSENGER SIDE DOOR LATCH FAILED.BASIL FORD SERVICE DEPT FOUND LATCH LEVEL BENT AND STUCK, ALSO STRIKER WAS LOOSE AND CROOKED. DEALER STATED THAT OTHER FORD FUSION LATCHES HAD BEEN REPLACED UNDER SAFETY RECALL, BUT NOT MY CAR. WE WERE DRIVING ON A CITY STREET AND TURNING LEFT
I WAS PARKED WITH MY VEHICLE OFF. WHEN I TURNED ON MY VEHICLE AND PUT IT IN REVERSE TO BACK OUT OF MY PARKING SPOT I HEARD A SMALL POP AND THE BRAKE PEDAL HAD A LOT MORE "GIVE" TO IT. I WAS ABLE TO PUSH IT ALL THE WAY TO THE FLOOR. WHILE DRIVING, I HAD TO PUSH IT TO THE FLOOR TO SLOW MY VEHICLE. I WAS ABLE TO SAFELY MAKE IT TO MY MECHANIC WHO LUCKILY WAS ONLY 1 MILE AWAY. HE TOLD ME THE FRONT RIGHT BRAKE LINE WAS RUPTURED AND THAT THIS IS ALMOST UNHEARD OF IN A CAR THAT'S ONLY 4 YEARS OLD.
WHILE MY WIFE WAS IN A DRIVE THRU MOVING FORWARD SLOWLY SHE REPORTED THAT THE RAKE PEDAL DEPRESSED ALL OF THE WAY TO THE FLOOR AND HAD A HARD TIME STOPPING THE CAR. WIFE INSPECTED BRAKE FLUID RESERVOIR AND FOUND IT TO BE COMPLETELY BONE DRY. DEALERSHIP FOUND THE RIGHT FRONT BRAKE LINE TO HAVE FAILED CAUSING ALL OF THE FLUID TO LEAK OUT AND THE BRAKES TO FAIL. DEALERSHIP ADVISED THAT THE PART IS ON BACK ORDER AND DOES NOT KNOW WHEN IT WILL BE AVAILABLE LEAVING ME ASSED OUT. ALSO THIS PART IS NOT COVERED UNDER OUR EXTENDED PREMIUM FORD WARRANTY . I HAVE RESEARCHED DIFFERENT ONLINE FORUMS AND HAVE FOUND MULTIPLE PEOPLE WITH THE EXACT SAME PROBLEMS WITH SOME THAT WERE TRAVELING AT A MUCH HIGHER RATES OF SPEED. I THINK THIS NEEDS TO BE INVESTIGATED BEFORE A SERIOUS ACCIDENT OCCURS .

THERE WERE NO WARNING INDICATORS ILLUMINATED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED AND STATED THAT THERE WERE NO RECALLS. THE CONTACT WAS ADVISED TO FILE A COMPLAINT WITH NHTSA. THE DEALER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 57,046.
I STARTED MY CAR TO GO TO WORK THIS MORNING. THE STEERING WHEEL WAS LOCKED IN PLACE. MY DASHBOARD INDICATED TWO WARNINGS: 1) STEERING ASSIST FAULT. SERVICE REQUIRED. 2) SERVICE ADVANCE TRACTION. I SEE THERE HAVE BEEN OTHER STEERING COMPLAINTS FOR THIS MODEL. MY VEHICLE HAS ONLY 31,351 MILES

THE CONTACT RECEIVED NOTIFICATION OF NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 19V590000 (SEAT BELTS) AND ANOTHER UNKNOWN RECALL LETTER REGARDING THE AIR BAGS. THE CONTACT TOOK THE VEHICLE TO BOB ROHRMAN SCHAUMBURG FORD (847-605-0800, LOCATED AT 815 EAST GOLF ROAD, SCHAUMBURG, IL 60173) WHERE THE DEALER STATED THAT THERE WAS NO RECALL. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS CALLED, BUT THE LINE WAS BUSY. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 139,888. *AS THE CONSUMER STATED THE ENGINE, STABILITY CONTROL, TRANSMISSION LIGHTS HAVE ALL ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE BROKEN DOWN TWICE. *JS
SPARK PLUGS CONTINUE TO FOUL CAUSING ANTIFREEZE TO LEAK INTO ENGINE RESULTING IN NEEDING A ENGINE REPLACEMENT. BEEN TOLD I NEED A BRAND NEW ENGINE ON A 5 YEAR OLD CAR.
ENGINE SHOWED HOT AND WENT INTO SHUTDOWN MODE WITHIN A MILE, TOOK TO FORD THE NEXT DAY THEY RESET COMPUTER AND ADDED A LITTLE FLUID. SERVICE DEPARTMENT SAID TO KEEP AN EYE ON THE COOLANT LEVEL ON MY TRIP TOTAL TO BE AROUND 1200 MILES. CAR NEEDED COOLANT ADDED ALONG THE WAY BUT DID OKAY ON THE HIGHWAY. ON MY WAY BACK ABOUT 150 MILES INTO MY TRIP THE ENGINE TEMP WENT UP FOR A SEC THEN BACK DOWN SO I PULLED OVER WITHIN A MILE BY THIS TIME YOU COULD SMELL SOMETHING WAS WRONG. AFTER LETTING THE ENGINE COOL FOR A WHILE I TRIED ADDING COOLANT AND IT POURED OUT THE BOTTOM OF ENGINE. FORD TELLS ME IT NEEDS A NEW ENGINE DUE TO A CRACKED BLOCK THAT IS BECOMING A COMMON ISSUE WITH THESE CARS.
The contact owns a 2015 Ford Fusion. The contact stated that while attempting to start the vehicle, the vehicle failed to start. After several attempts to start the vehicle, the vehicle started. The contact stated while driving 40 MPH, the vehicle lost automotive power and stalled. The check engine warning light was illuminated. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic to be diagnosed and was diagnosed with canister purge valve failure. The vehicle was repaired; however, the check engine warning light became illuminated. The failure recurred two more times. The local dealer was not contacted. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and referred the contact to the NHTSA Hotline. The failure mileage was approximately 80,000.

MY CAR HAS 64000 MILES. CAR WAS OVERHEATING AND ROUGH IDLE SO WE BROUGHT TO THE FORD DEALERSHIP AND THEY SAID THE CODE 0302 IS A MISFIRE ON CYLINDER #2. THEY ALSO SAID THERE IS A HOLE IS THE BLOCK BETWEEN CYLINDERS NOW. THERE IS ABSOLUTELY NO WAY THIS SHOULD HAPPEN WITH 64K MILES AND COOLANT LEVEL WAS CORRECT. THEY MENTIONED THE SLEEVE AROUND CYLINDER 2 IS TOO THIN CAUSING THE ISSUE. THEY ALSO MENTIONED FORD IS AWARE OF THE ISSUE AS NUMEROUS COMPLAINTS HAVE BEEN OBSERVED AND FORD'S REPLACEMENT ENGINE HAS A THICKER SLEEVE TO CORRECT THIS ISSUE. THE DEALER ALSO SAID THEY HAVE 4 OTHER FUSIONS WITH THE EXACT SAME ISSUE. NOW TO REPLACE THE ENGINE IS OVER $6000 AND AGAIN THERE IS SIMPLY NO WAY THIS SHOULD HAPPEN WITH A CAR WITH 64K MILES. VERY FRUSTRATED AND LOOKING FOR COMPENSATION.
SERVICE ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON AND THE CAR WAS RUNNING GOOD. DEALER CHECKED IT OUT COULDN'T FIND ANYTHING AT FIRST, PIN POINTED TO CYLINDER 1. DEALER PRESSURIZED THE CYLINDER TO CHECK FOR LEAKS, FOUND A CRACK IN THE CYLINDER WALL. I TOOK IT TO ANOTHER SHOP FOR A SECOND OPTION, THEY DID THE SAME CHECK AND FOUND THE SAME CRACK.VEHICLE ONLY HAS 87K ON IT. BOTH SHOPS ARE TELLING ME I NEED A NEW ENGINE. I STILL HAVE ANOTHER YEAR TO PAY ON THIS VEHICLE.
THE DRIVER'S SIDE SEATBELT OR PASSENGER RESTRAINT ONCE UNLOCKED TO GET OUT OF CAR THE RESTRAINT (BELT) APPARENTLY WENT ALL THE WAY BACK UP IN THE HOUSING LEAVING MY DAUGHTER WITHOUT THAT SAFETY FEATURE WHEN SHE CAME OUT OF WORK TO DRIVE HOME. AFTER SHE GOT HOME AND TINKERED WITH THE HOUSING IT SOUNDED LIKE A METAL BALL MOVED INSIDE THE HOUSING AND SHE WAS ABLE TO GET THE BELT TO RELEASE AND HASN'T HAD A SIGNIFICANT PROBLEM SINCE. ALL OF THIS HAPPENED WHILE STATIONARY. SHE WAS ABLE TO PUT THE RESTRAINT ON THAT MORNING. DIDN'T NOTICE THE PROBLEM UNTIL SHE GOT BACK IN THE CAR TO COME HOME. SO THE CAR WAS PARKED FOR 10 HOURS, AS SHE DIDN'T NOTICE IT UNTIL SHE GOT IN THE CAR TO DRIVE HOME. APPARENTLY HAPPENED WHEN SHE GOT OUT OF THE CAR AS SHE HEARD NOTHING UNUSUAL WHEN SHE EXITED THE PARKED CAR TO GO INTO WORK. IT WAS WHEN SHE CAME OUT AND GOT IN THE CAR THE SAFETY BELT WOULDN'T RELEASE FROM THE HOUSING PART OF THE SAFETY RESTRAINT.
TOOK CAR TO DEALERSHIP TO HAVE RECALL REPAIRS FIXED, NOW WITH REPAIRS IT HAS NOW CAUSED A HARD SHIFT IN GEARS. RECALL REPAIR HAS NOW CAUSED ANOTHER ISSUE THAT WAS NOT A PROBLEM UNTIL RECALL WORK WAS COMPLETED. I WAS PARKED AND CAR WOULDN'T COME OUT OF GEAR.
BROUGHT CAR IN FOR SERVICE DUE TO CHECK ENGINE LIGHT AND BATTERY NOT CHARGING. REPLACED BATTERY, BUT CHECK ENGINE LIGHT REMAINED ON. AGAIN, WENT TO GET GET DIAGNOSTIC, RESULTED IN NEEDING CATALYTIC CONVERTER. PICKED UP CAR AND CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME BACK ON. RETURNED TO SERVICE NEXT DAY. DIAGNOSTIC SHOWED COOLANT LEAKED INTO THE ENGINE AND HEAD GASKET NEEDING REPLACING. THE RESULT IS NEEDING A NEW MOTOR. THIS ISSUE SEEMS SIMILAR TO NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 17V209000. MY ISSUE SEEMS TO BE RELATED TO THIS RECALL ON THE 2013 AND 2014 FUSIONS. FORD IS PROVIDED $3,000 FOR THE REPAIR DUE TO ME BEING OVER 600 MILES OVER POWER TRAIN. MY CONCERN IS THE RECALL TO THE 13 AND 14 FUSION COULD BE BROADER THAN THOSE YEARS.
DOOR LATCH ON BACK DRIVER'S SIDE DOOR IS BROKEN AFTER NO ACCIDENT OR DAMAGE TO THE VEHICLE. SIMPLY OPENED DOOR AND WHEN I WENT TO SHUT IT IT WOULD NO LONGER LATCH. IT DOES NOT STAY SHUT. VEHICLE WAS STATIONARY.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2015 FORD FUSION. WHILE THE VEHICLE WAS PARKED ON AN INCLINE, IT ROLLED BACKWARDS. THE CONTACT USED THE EMERGENCY BRAKE TO STOP THE VEHICLE. THERE WAS NO WARNING INDICATOR ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO HAWK FORD OF OAK LAWN (708-599-6000, LOCATED AT 6100 W 95TH ST, OAK LAWN, IL 60453) WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE TRANSMISSION LINKAGE CHAIN FRACTURED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED, BUT THE FAILURE WORSENED. IN ADDITION, THE CHECK ENGINE WARNING INDICATOR ILLUMINATED AND BLINKED. ALSO THE 'PULL OVER AND STOP THE ENGINE' WARNING INDICATOR ILLUMINATED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURES AND STATED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS NO LONGER UNDER WARRANTY. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 83,000. THE VIN WAS UNKNOWN.
In August 2019 I reported to Ford that the brake lights were staying on all the time even when the car was shut off. I was still able to drive my car (Ford Fusion Hybrid 2015) to the Ford Dealer Ship in Sarasota. I was told they have to keep the car because it's a danger and not legal to drive with that kind of defect of my brake lights. I had to pay $ 1115.24 for the repair of the car . Ford had to replace the brake pedal assembly. My car was in the shop for a month. They also replaced the steering wheel bolt which was a recall 18S08. In my opinion I paid for a repair that is now a recall. Will I be able to get my money back and a compensation for not having a car for 1 month provided we are talking here about the same issue?
I WAS IN MOTION DRIVING NOT LONG AFTER I GOT MY CAR WHICH IS STILL PRETTY NEW. WHILE DRIVING I TRIED TO ACCELERATE AND IT WOULDN'T ACCELERATE. AFTER MASHING THE PETAL ALL THE WAY DOWN THE CAR WAS STILL MOVING AT THE SAME SPEED THEN LIKE 3/4 SECS LATER IT JERKED AND STARTED TO ACCELERATE. I THOUGHT IT MAY NEED A TUNE UP SO I WENT AND GOT THAT DONE BUT IT'S STILL DOING IT. I WAS ON A CITY STREETS GOING STRAIGHT.
THE TRUNK OF MY 2015 FORD FUSION WILL OPEN WITHOUT NOTICE. IT FIRST HAPPENED WHILE IN MY GARAGE, BUT HAS ALSO HAPPENED WHILE DRIVING DOWN THE ROAD, WHICH MADE IT DIFFICULT TO SEE OUT THE BACK WINDOW. WHEN BACK IN MY GARAGE I TURNED THE CAR OFF. WITHIN A FEW MINUTES THE TRUNK OPENED ON ITS OWN. WHEN I WENT TO CHECK TO SEE IF I COULD FIGURE OUT WHAT WAS GOING ON, I COULD HEAR THE TRUNK RELEASE 'TRIGGERING' AUTOMATICALLY. THIS RANDOM TRUNK OPENING OCCURRED BOTH WHEN THE CAR WAS IN MOTION AND STATIONARY IN THE GARAGE.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2015 FORD FUSION. WHILE DRIVING 35 MPH AND ATTEMPTING TO TURN, THE ABILITY TO STEER BECAME DIFFICULT AND "POWER STEERING ASSIST" APPEARED ON THE MESSAGE BOARD. THE CONTACT PULLED THE VEHICLE OVER TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD AND THEN DROVE HOME AT A VERY LOW SPEED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT TAKEN TO THE DEALER FOR DIAGNOSTIC TESTING. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 65,000.
AFTER MERGING AND ACCELERATING ONTO THE FREEWAY, OVER TO THE FAR LEFT LANE, "STOP SAFELY NOW" WARNING CAME UP AND THE CAR LOST ALL POWER. LUCKILY I WAS ABLE TO COAST ALL THE WAY TO THE RIGHT SHOULDER (WHAT HAWAII CONSIDERS A SHOULDER, STILL VERY DANGEROUS) THE VEHICLE WOULD NOT START, ONLY BEEP MULTIPLE TIMES AND DISPLAY THE SAME MESSAGE. AFTER 5 MIN ON PHONE TRYING TO GET FORD ROADSIDE ASSISTANCE, THE LOCAL HIGHWAY PATROL TOW TRUCK SHOWED UP. BEFORE I ALLOWED HIM TO TOW THE VEHICLE I TRIED TO START IT AND WAS SUCCESSFUL.
THE STEERING IS MAKING A KNOCKING NOISE WHEN TURN IT 1 WAY OR THE OTHER. TOOK TO MECHANIC AND WAS TOLD 2 BOLTS ARE BROKEN ON THE STEERING GEAR MOTOR. THEY TOLD ME THERE WAS A RECALL #15S14 FROM FORD TO TAKE CARE OF THIS AND THAT THEY WOULD HAVE TO DO THE WORK. TOOK TO FORD DEALER AND THEY SAID THE RECALL IS NOT IN MY STATE OF SOUTH DAKOTA AND THAT I'D HAVE TO PAY $1800 TO HAVE IT FIXED. THE CAR HAS LESS THEN 36,000 MILES AND IS OUT OF THE WARRANTY AND NOT HAPPY THAT IT DOES NOT INCLUDE EVERY FORD FUSION IN THAT YEAR. HAVE CALLED FORD CUSTOMER SERVICE AND HAVE JUST POND ME OFF. THE CAR IS PARKED AS DON'T DARE DRIVE IT!!!

I WAS TOLD THE SWITCH ON THE BACK OF THE BRAKE PEDAL IS BROKEN. CAR NEEDS BRAKE PEDAL ASSEMBLY REPLACED.THIS RARE PART IS ON NATIONAL BACK ORDER. MY CAR HAS 64000 MILES ON IT.CAR HAS BEEN GROUNDED FOR 3 WEEKS ALREADY. CAR HAS BEEN GROUNDED FOR 3 WEEKS ALREADY. COULD THIS BE A SAFETY RISK?

IN 2019 I HAD AN OVER TEMP WARNING POP UP. AFTER TAKING TO DEALERSHIP FOUND IT TO BE A COOLANT LEAK IN CYLINDER 2. SINCE IT WAS UNDER WARRANTY FORD REPLACED THE ENGINE. LESS THAN 2 YEARS LATER WITH THE NEW ENGINE THE SAME ISSUE IS HAPPENING AGAIN, BUT IS NO LONGER UNDER WARRANTY AND THEY WANT ME TO PAY TO REPLACE. THIS HAS NOT ONLY HAPPENED TO ME, BUT THERE ARE COUNTLESS OTHERS WITH THE SAME ISSUE. I WAS DRIVING ON THE INTERSTATE GOING ABOUT 65-70MPH WHEN THE POWER WAS SHUT DOWN TO MY ENGINE AND COULD HAVE KILLED ME.

WHILE THE CAR WAS SITTING IN THE DRIVEWAY I NOTICED THE BRAKE LIGHTS WERE ON. UPON INSPECTION, THE SILCONE RUBBER PAD THAT CUSHIONS THE BRAKE PEDAL FROM THE BRAKE LIGHT SWITCH HAD BECOME BRITTLE AND BROKE APART. THE BRAKE LIGHT SWITCH NOW DOES NOT DEPRESS FAR ENOUGH TO ACTUATE THE BRAKE LIGHTS AND THEY ARE STUCK IN THE ON POSITION.

HOWEVER, ON THE TRIP BACK ON 7/7/2019, WHEN SITTING IN A DRIVE-THRU, MY BRAKE LIGHT CAME ON THE DASH AND A WARNING ABOUT MY BRAKE FLUID BEING LOW CAME ON THE SCREEN. I HAD VIRTUALLY NO BRAKE POWER, AND EVEN WHEN I PUSHED THE PEDAL TO THE FLOOR MY CAR WAS STILL CREEPING FORWARD. I MANAGED TO DRIVE TO AN AUTO PARTS STORE WHERE I PURCHASED SOME BRAKE FLUID. THIS MADE THE WARNING GO AWAY, BUT THE BRAKES WERE STILL BARELY FUNCTIONAL. I MADE IT HOME, AND NOTICED FLUID LEAKING FROM THE BOTTOM OF MY CAR AND ALL OVER THE FRONT PASSENGER WHEEL. I TOOK THE CAR TO A REPAIR SHOP THE NEXT DAY (7/8/2019) WHERE THEY FOUND THAT ONE BRAKE LINE HAD BURST ON THE FRONT PASSENGER WHEEL, AND THE BRAKE LINE ON THE FRONT DRIVER'S WHEEL WAS ABOUT TO BURST. BOTH BRAKE LINES HAD TO BE REPLACED.

I WAS NOTIFIED THAT I WAS GOING TO NEED A NEW TRANSMISSION. TOTALLY UNACCEPTABLE, AND I VOICED MY CONCERNS TO THE SERVICE MANAGER. I HAVE DONE RESEARCH ONLINE AND FOUND MANY COMPLAINTS WITH THE EXACT SAME SYMPTOMS WITH FORD FUSIONS. I HAVE SENT EMAILS TO MR. AFTER PULLING OVER SAFELY DISCOVERED RUPTURED BRAKE LINE TO FORWARD LEFT HAND WHEEL AND BRAKE FLUID SPRAYED ON IN SIDE OF WHEEL WELL. AFTER TOWED TO THE DEALERSHIP THE SERVICE MANGER CLAIMED HE HAS SEEN MULTIPLE FUSIONS, FOUCS AND ESCAPES WITH SIMULAR ISSUES AND SAYS THIS IS NORMAL WEAR. I TOLD HIM I WANT THE REMOVED PARTS AND WILL HOLD THEM IF NEEDED FOR FURTHER INVESTIGATION.

THE RPM REVED UP AND DROPPED DOWN ALONG WITH WRENCH LIGHT AND SEAT BELT LIGHT COMING N. BACK TO THE DEALERSHIP NO CODES STORED TO INDICATE THE ISSUE. THIS IS VERY SCARY TO LOSE POWER WHILE DRIVING AND MAY CAUSE AN ACCIDENT OR EVEN DEATH. THERE ARE ALOT OF COMPLAINTS REGARDING THIS MATTER, YOU WOULD THINK FORD WOULD DO SOMETHING ABOUT IT, UNFORTUNATELY NOTHING HAS BEEN DONE YET. ON JUNE 9TH 2019 THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON MY 2015 FUSION WHILE DRIVING IN THE CITY. I TOOK THE CAR TO THE DEALERSHIP ON JUNE 10TH FOR A OIL CHANGE AND NOTIFIED THEM THE ENGINE LIGHT WAS ON. THEY PERFORMED THE 'WORKS' SERVICE AND TOLD ME THE LIGHT WAS NOT ON. THE LIGHT WAS ON WHEN I PULLED IN THE PARKING LOT SO IT IS MY BELIEF THEY CLEARED THE CODE WITHOUT PERFORMING A DIAGNOSTIC TEST. JUNE 29 THE ENGINE LIGHT CAME BACK ON. JUNE 30 I STOP AT AN AUTO PARTS STORE THAT DOES A FREE DIAGNOSTIC. THE RESULTS WERE MISFIRE ON CYLINDER 2. I TOOK THE CAR BACK TO THE DEALERSHIP JULY 1ST AND PRESENTED THEM WITH THE INFORMATION FROM THE AUTO PARTS STORE. THEY CONFIRMED THE MISFIRE AND REPLACED THE COIL PACK AND THE SPARK PLUG. ON JULY 3 AFTER DRIVING 100+ HIGHWAY MILES I PARKED THE CAR AND SEVERAL HOURS LATER WHEN I RETURNED THE CAR STALLED WHEN I STARTED IT. IT TOOK 3 ATTEMPTS BEFORE THE CAR STARTED. THE ENGINE WAS SPUTTERING AND THE LIGHT CAME ON BRIEFLY. JULY 12TH, THE ENGINE LIGHT CAME BACK ON WHILE ON THE INTERSTATE. THE CAR CONTINUED TO DRIVE NORMALLY. I PARKED THE CAR AT MY HOME. JULY 15TH STARTED THE CAR I COULD HEAR THE SOUND OF WATER RUSHING THROUGH THE DASH. I DROVE THE CAR 3 MILES TO THE DEALERSHIP AND NOTICED WHITE SMOKE COMING FROM THE TAILPIPE. I LEFT IT FOR A DIAGNOSTIC EVALUATION. THE FOLLOWING WEEK THE DEALERSHIP CALLS TO TELL ME THE CAR NEEDS EXTENSIVE ENGINE REPAIRS HEADS, GASKETS, ETC. AUGUST COMES AND THE DEALERSHIP STILL HAS MY CAR. A FEW WEEKS LATER I'M TOLD THE PARTS ARE ON BACK ORDER AND THERE IS NO EXPECTED ARRIVAL DATE. OCT 30 ALL PARTS ARE IN AND THE REPAIRS START. THE REPAIRS WERE COMPLETED AND THE ENGINE FAILED AT THE DEALERSHIP. I'M TOLD ON NOV 7 THEY ARE ORDERING A NEW ENGINE. THE ENGINE WAS INSTALLED AND REPAIRS WERE COMPLETE ON NOV 15TH, MORE THAN 4 MONTHS LATER! THIS IS A COMMON PROBLEM AND FORD NEEDS TO TAKE RESPONSIBILITY!!

OUR VEHICLE WAS PURCHASED NEW FROM THE DEALER AND WE'RE TOLD THEY SEALED THE BOLTS PRIOR TO SALE IN COMPLIANCE WITH THIS RECALL HOWEVER THE BOLTS FAILED AT APPROXIMATELY 50K MILES RESULTING IN SEPARATION OF THE STEERING GEAR AND LOSS OF POWER STEERING, MAKING IT DIFFICULT TO TURN, ESPECIALLY AT LOW SPEEDS. FORD RECALL ACTIONS FOR NEW IN-STOCK OUTLINED IN THE TSB DID NOT PREVENT THE FAILURE FROM OCCURRING AND DID NOT ALIGN WITH THEIR PRESS STATEMENT. THEIR SEALANT WAS A PATCH SOLUTION WHICH BOUGHT THEM TIME WITHOUT ADDRESSING THE ROOT CAUSE WHICH WAS FAULTY BOLTS.
