TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2015 FORD FUSION. WHILE OPERATING THE VEHICLE, THE POWER STEERING ASSIST FAILED AND CAUSED THE STEERING WHEEL TO BECOME VERY DIFFICULT TO TURN IN EITHER DIRECTION. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN UNKNOWN DEALER TO BE DIAGNOSED. THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THE STEERING RACK WAS DEFECTIVE AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THERE WAS NO ASSISTANCE OFFERED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 100,000.
The contact owns a 2015 Ford Fusion. The contact stated while driving at various speeds, the vehicle suddenly shuddered, hesitated, decelerated and stalled. The contact stated upon restarting the vehicle, the vehicle would operate as needed. The vehicle was taken to the dealer who was unable to duplicate the failure. However, the failure reoccurred increasingly while driving. The vehicle was taken back to the dealer who diagnosed that the throttle body had failed and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 63,785.
ACTUALLY THIS HAPPENED TO ME TWICE. I WAS PARKED AND WHEN I TOUCHED THE BRAKES TO GO INTO REVERSE BUT THEY WENT ALL THE WAY TO THE FLOOR. I CALLED AAA TO TOW MY VEHICLE. THE 2ND TIME IT HAPPENED I WAS 5 MIN FROM MY HOUSE. AGAIN I WAS PARKED AT THE KIDS GAME AND WHEN I PRESSED THE BRAKES IT MADE ME THINK ABOUT THE 1ST EXPERIENCE. HOWEVER IT HAD A LITTLE PRESSURE BEHIND THE BRAKES AND I WAS ABLE TO PUMP MY BRAKES TO ENGAGE THEM THEREBY MAKING IT HOME. A FRIEND CAME OVER ADDED BRAKE FLUID AND I WAS SURPRISED THAT IT WAS TAKING ALL THE FLUID. TO MY SURPRISE ALL OF THE BRAKE FLUID WAS COMING OUT ON THE GROUND. BOTH TIMES THE DEALER CLAIMED THEY WERE NOT AWARE OF AN ISSUE WITH THE BRAKES AND AM RESPONSIBLE FOR THE COST OF THE REPAIRS IF IT'S NOT COVERED UNDER WARRANTY.
ALMOST HAD A THREE CAR ACCIDENT. MY GEAR SHIFTED FROM D TO N I WAS ON THE HIGHWAY WHEN IT HAPPEN
I WAS DRIVING ON MY STREET AND MY BRAKES WENT COMPLETELY OUT. COULD NOT STOP AT ALL. THERE WAS NO INDICATION FROM SYSTEM THAT I WAS HAVING BRAKE ISSUES. TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2015 FORD FUSION. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 25 MPH AND MAKING A RIGHT TURN, THE BRAKES MALFUNCTIONED AND THE BRAKE PEDAL TRAVELED TO THE FLOORBOARD WHEN DEPRESSED. THE DRIVER LOST CONTROL OF THE STEERING AND THE FRONT PASSENGER SIDE WHEEL MADE CONTACT WITH THE CURB. UPON INSPECTION, IT WAS DISCOVERED THAT BRAKE FLUID LEAKED FROM THE VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. FORD COUNTRY OF LEWISVILLE (1144 N. STEMMONS FWY, LEWISVILLE, TX) AND THE MANUFACTURER WERE NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 84,000.
I NOTICED MY FLOOR WAS WET IN THE BACK SEAT AT FIRST I THOUGHT IT WAS JUST FROM GETTING MY KIDS IN AND OUT IN THE RAIN BUT AFTER I CLEANED IT UP I NOTICED A DAY LATER IT WAS WET AGAIN AND I DIDNT HAVE MY KIDS IN THE CAR AND IT WAS RAINING. THE NEXT DAY I OPENED MY TRUNK LID AND FELT THE CARPETING AND IT WAS SOAKED SO I PULLED THE LINER OUT AND I SEEN STANDING WATER IN MY WHEEL WELL I VACUUMED THE WATER AND TO FIND MY LEAK I PULLED DOWN MY BACK SEATS AND CLOSED THE TRUNK LID AND I GOT PHONE TO RECORD IT I HAD MY WIFE SPRAY THE REAR END OF MY CAR WITH THE WATER HOSE AND I CAN SEE WATER POURING IN AND THAT'S WHEN I FOUND THE LEAK WAS COMING FROM BROKEN FACTORY WELDS IN THE TOP PART OF MY TRUNK . I TOOK MY CAR TO THE LOCAL DEALER WHERE I WAS CALLED A LIAR CAUSE THE MAN THERE DID NOT BELIEVE WHAT I SAID CAUSE HE DIDN'T SEE IT ON HIS COMPUTER AND I HAVE VIDEO EVIDENCE.
COOLANT LEAK IN THE ENGINE BLOCK. NO WARNING LIGHT CAME ON TEMP WASN'T HIGH TOOK CAR TO DEALERSHIP BECAUSE IT WAS RUNNING ROUGH THEY REPLACED SENSORS STILL RAN ROUGH SO FUTHER INVESTIGATION THEY FOUND COOLANT LEAK AND SAID OUR MOTOR WAS BLOWN
VEHICLE DISPLAYED AIRBAG WARNING LIGHT. AFTER FORD INSPECTED THE VEHICLE THEY STATED THAT THE DEFECT WAS IN THE DRIVER'S SEAT BELT BUCKLE AND THAT IT WOULD NEED TO BE REPLACED AT A COST OF $400. FORD STATED THAT THE DEFECT WOULD NOT ALLOW THE AIR BAGS TO DEPLOY. I ASKED FOR MY VEHICLE BACK BUT HAD TO PAY $89 FOR DIAGNOSTICS. TOOK VEHICLE HOME AND REMOVED DRIVER BELT BUCKLE AND DISCOVERED WIRE BROKEN AT BASE OF BUCKLE (SEE ATTACHED IMAGES). THIS DEFECT THAT WILL NOT ALLOW AIRBAGS TO DEPLOY AND INVOLVES A BROKEN WIRE IN THE BELT BUCKLE SHOULD BE A SAFETY RECALL. OTHERWISE, WHAT WILL HAPPEN IS ALL THE VEHICLES THAT HAVE BROKEN WIRES WILL NOT GET FIXED AND THE ONLY DEFENSE IS THE SEAT BEAT ALONE.
WHILE DRIVING ON CITY STREET CAR BEGAN TO EMIT WHITE SMOKE FROM EXHAUST. UPON INSPECTION BY FORD DISCOVERED A CRACK IN #3 CYLINDER ALLOWING COOLANT INTO ENGINE
UNDER NORMAL DRIVING CONDITIONS ON A SUNDAY EVENING I BEGAN TO NOTICE A DECREASE IN BRAKE PRESSURE AND FEEL. AT A TRAFFIC LIGHT I THEN NOTICED THE BRAKE PEDAL WOULD BEGIN TO DEPRESS TOWARD THE FLOOR WITHOUT AN INCREASE IN FORCE TO DEPRESS THE PEDAL. THE VEHICLE LATER THAT EVENING REPORTED LOW BRAKE FLUID. I RETURNED THE VEHICLE HOME TO THE GARAGE WITH THE INTENT OF SERVICING THE VEHICLE MONDAY. ON MONDAY I DROVE OUT OF THE GARAGE AND NOTICED A PUDDLE OF BRAKE FLUID ON THE FLOOR AT THE RIGHT FRONT WHEEL POSITION. I RETURNED THE VEHICLE TO THE GARAGE AND PERFORMED A VISUAL INSPECTION AND IDENTIFIED THE PROBLEM OF A SPLIT IN THE RUBBER BRAKE LINE.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2015 FORD FUSION. WHILE DRIVING VARIOUS SPEEDS, THERE WAS AN ABNORMAL GRINDING NOISE WHEN THE STEERING WHEEL WAS TURNED LEFT OR RIGHT. ALSO, THE STEERING ASSIST WARNING INDICATOR ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHO STATED THAT THERE WAS A GAP IN THE STEERING. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO WOODHOUSE FORD SOUTH (2288 OSAGE RANCH BLVD, PLATTSMOUTH, NE 68048, (402) 296-9000) WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE STEERING GEAR NEEDED TO BE REPLACED AND THE STEERING WHEEL BOLTS WERE FRACTURED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS CONTACTED AND DID NOT ASSIST. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE FAILURE WAS SIMILAR TO NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 18V167000 (STEERING). THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 50,000.
MY CAR WAS AT IDLE AT THE STORE FOR LESS THAN 5 MINUTES AND WENT INTO SAFE MODE THE MECHANIC SAID MY ACTIVE GRILL MOTOR WENT OUT WHICH CAUSED MY HEAD GASKET TO BLOW WITHOUT WARNING. I OWE OVER $10000 ON MY CAR AND NOW I HAVE A $4000 SHOP BILL. MY CAR HAS NEVER OVERHEATED NOT EVEN AT THAT TIME SO MY HEAD GASKET SHOULDN'T BE BLOWN! PLEASE HELP!
TURNED MY AC ON ONE NIGHT AND MY AIR BAG LIGHT CAME ON AND IS STILL ON AFTER 12 DAYS
ON MANY OCCASIONS MY CARS MAIN BATTERY HAS COMPLETELY DRAINED. SOMETHING IN THE CAR KEEPS DRAINING THE BATTERY FOR NO REASON ALL ESSENTIALS ARE COMPLETELY TURNED OFF THAT I AM AWARE. IN ALL CASES THE CAR WAS PARKED FOR PERIODS OF TIME. MY WIFE WENT ON A BUSINESS TRIP CAME BACK AFTER TWO WEEKS TO FIND HER CAR AT LOT DEAD. .SHE MANAGED TO GET A JUMP FROM SOMEONE. THIS WAS DURING MINNESOTA WINTER. CAR LEFT IN GARAGE FOR SUMMER WHILE TOOK OTHER CAR ON A TRIP FOR A FEW WEEKS ONLY TO COME BACK WHERE CAR WAS DEAD AGAIN. MANAGED TO GET IT RECHARGED. AGAIN CAR LEFT IN GARAGE FOR LONGER PERIOD ABOUT 3 MONTHS AS WIFE WAS ON DISABILITY. CAR AGAIN WAS FOUND DEAD AND WAS UNABLE TO RECHARGE AS MY CHARGER INDICATED BATTERY WAS BAD. CAR UNDER WARRANTY. TOWED TO WHERE PURCHASED, SAID BATTERY WAS BAD. I INFORMED THEM THIS HAS HAPPEN SEVERAL TIMES AND APPARENTLY BATTERY WAS NOT UNDER SAME WARRANTY. BATTERY REPLACED OUT OF MY POCKET. CAR WENT BACK INTO STORAGE AGAIN. AGAIN BATTERY DIED. TOOK IN AGAIN AND I ASKED THEY CONDUCT A THROUGH TEST AS SOMETHING KEEPS DRAINING THE BATTERY. I ALSO WENT OUT TO CHARGE THE BATTERY ABOUT EVERY TWO WEEKS. BUT EVENTUALLY MY CHARGER TAGGED THE BATTERY AS BAD AGAIN. THEY REPLACED AGAIN NO CHARGE. BUT THEY SAID WERE NOT ABLE TO FIND ANYTHING. AFTER HOME THIS TIME I CHARGED EVERY WEEK AND WHEN I DO THE BATTERY SHOWS IT HAS DRAINED ANYWHERE FROM 30% - 40% EACH WEEK. I NEED SOMEONE TO INTERVENE WITH FORD AS I DO NOT DRIVE THE CAR AS MUCH NOW AND THIS IS CONCERNING AS NOW IS MY ONLY VEHICLE AND WARRANTY ENDS SOON. CAR WAS SERVICED EACH TIME AT MIDWAY FORD 2777 N SNELLING, ROSEVILLE, MN 55113 (844) 338-7004. I DON'T HAVE OTHER DETAILS AT THIS TIME. ALL RECORDS ARE WITH DEALERSHIP OF SERVICE. THE EXACT DATES ARE UNKNOWN AS DID NOT REALIZE THIS WOULD BECOME A LONG TERM CONSTANT PROBLEM. I SEE THAT NHTSA ID NUMBERS 10733369 & 10871542 ARE SIMILAR TO MY CASE.

VEHICLE WAS INVOLVED IN AN ACCIDENT ON APRIL 10, 2019. THE SEATBELT CAME LOOSE AT THE METAL CABLE. ALL OTHER 2015 FORD FUSIONS HAVE HAD RECALLS FOR THE SAME ISSUE. THE RECALL SHOULD BE EXPANDED TO INCLUDE FUSION HYBRID. THE VEHICLE WAS IN MOTION AND TURNING. *DT PHOTOS ATTACHED *JB
RIGHT FRONT BRAKE HOSE BLOWN. ENGINE FLUID LEAK. COOLANT IS ABSORBED BY ENGINE TO COMBUSTION CHAMBER AND COME OUT AS A WHITE SMOKE THROUGH EXHAUST. ALL HAPPENED IN A CITY STREET NOT EVEN FREEWAY. NEW ENGINE NEEDED AND NEW BRAKE HOSES.

TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2015 FORD FUSION. WHILE DRIVING 40 MPH, THE VEHICLE STALLED IN RUSH HOUR TRAFFIC. THE VEHICLE WAS ABLE TO RESTART AND WAS DRIVEN TO A FUEL STATION. THE CHECK ENGINE INDICATOR ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO STEVEN'S JERSEY CITY FORD (740 RT. 440, JERSEY CITY, NJ 07034) WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT A NEW PCV VALVE NEEDED TO BE INSTALLED. THE VEHICLE WAS SCHEDULED TO BE REPAIRED ON MARCH 21, 2019. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE AND ADVISED THE CONTACT TO CALL NHTSA. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 52,000.
WE HAVE A 2015 FORD FUSION SE. WE WERE THE 2ND OWNER AND PURCHASED FROM A DEALERSHIP. WHILE DRIVING THE CAR IT STARTED SOUNDING LIKE FLUID IN THE DASHBOARD AND THE CAR STARTED SHAKING. THEN IT STARTED BLOWING OUT TONS OF WHITE SMOKE OUT THE TAIL PIPE, THEN THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON. WE PULLED OVER, PARKED CAR. LET SIT AND COOL DOWN. THERE WAS OIL, TRANSMISSION FLUID, AND COOLANT IN THE CAR. WE HAVE DONE ALL OIL CHANGES AND MAINTENANCE REGULARLY. WE HAD THE CAR TOWED TO THE DEALERSHIP. AFTER SEVERAL DAYS THEY CAME BACK STATING IT IS A MANUFACTURER DEFECT AND THAT BASICALLY THE CAR SUCKED IN COOLANT THROUGH THE ENGINE AND WAS BURNING (REASON FOR WHITE SMOKE). IT RUINED THE ENGINE. THE MANUFACTURER WARRANTY WAS OVER AT 60K MILES........WE HAVE 65K AND FORD IS REFUSING TO COVER THE ISSUE EVEN THOUGH THIS IS A DEFECT THAT ON THEIR END. ALSO THE INTAKE MANIFOLD WAS REPLACED AT 46K MILES. HOW CAN FORD STATE THAT THEY ARE NOT RESPONSIBLE? WE PAID $16K FOR A CAR WE HAVE HAD BARELY OVER A YEAR AND NOW A PILE OF SCRAP METAL.
THE TRUNK OPENS RANDOMLY ON ITS OWN IN PARKING LOT AN GARAGE
MY CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON AND IT INDICATED LOW COOLANT AND MISFIRE IN CYLINDER 4. I HAD A COOLANT LEAK INTO CYLINDER 4 IN MY ENGINE AT APPROX 69,000 MILES AND WAS ADVISED I NEEDED A NEW ENGINE BLOCK... THEIR WERE 3 OTHER CARS AT THE DEALERSHIP WITH THE EXACT SAME ISSUE. I WAS TOLD IT WOULD COST APPROX 7500... AFTER COMPLAINING TO SERVICE DEPT THEY OPENED A CASE WITH FORD AND THEY AGREED TO DO IT FOR APPROX 2500 AS IT WAS JUST OUT OF 60,000 WARRANTY AND JUST OVER 3 YEARS OLD. SERVICE ADVISOR SAID FORD HAD A KNOWN ISSUE WITH HEAD GASKET APPARENTLY MOVING AND WEARING OUT WHICH CAUSED THE ISSUE. APPROX 8 MONTHS LATER EXACT SAME ISSUE AND I NEEDED ANOTHER ENGINE CHANGE. THIS TIME THE DEALERSHIP HAD 7 CARS IN SHOP WITH SAME ISSUE WAITING ON ENGINE CHANGES.AGAIN WAS TOLD FORD HAS ISSUES W HEAD GASKET MOVING AND WEARING OUT GASKET ALLOWING COOLANT TO LEAK INTO CYLINDER. SUPPOSEDLY FORD HAS UPGRADED THEIR GASKETS AND OTHER PARTS TO CORRECT ISSUE BUT I DONT BELIEVE THE CUSTOMERS SHOULD BEAR RESPONSIBILITY WHEN FORD HAS KNOWN ISSUE THAT COSTS CUSTOMERS SUCH A BIG AMOUNT. I KNOW IT WAS JUST PAST ORIG WARRANTY BUT THIS IS A FORD ENGINEERING PROBLEM THAT CUSTOMERS AND BEARING BRUNT OF COSTS. THE SECOND ENGINE CHANGE WAS COVERED UNDER WARRANTY BUT IM CONCERNED ABOUT IT HAPPENING AGAIN OR THE LOSS OF VALUE FROM 2 ENGINE CHANGES IN LESS THAN 80K MILES. THE DATE ENTERED BELOW IS AN ESTIMATE. ENGINE WAS CHANGED TWICE IN 2019 AND LESS THAN 10K MILES IN BETWEEN.
THIS CAR HAS BEEN IN TWICE FOR A CAM POSITION SENSOR. THE FIRST TIME THE PART TOTALLY FAILED AND LEFT US ON THE ROAD SIDE ON A VERY DANGEROUS STRETCH OF HWY 101 AND WAS REPLACED. 1708 MILES LATER THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON AGAIN. THE CODE WAS P0340 AGAIN. WE WERE TOLD THAT THE ISSUE COULD NOT BE DUPLICATED THROUGH A DEALER ROAD TEST AND WE WERE CHARGED $190.00 FOR THE DIAGNOSTICS. THE FIRST TIME THIS ISSUE OCCURRED, WE HAD BROUGHT THE VEHICLE IN FOR A SAFETY RECALL. WHEN WE PICKED THE CAR UP, THIS WAS THE FIRST INSTANCE OF THE FAILURE OF THIS COMPONENT. THIS HAS CAUSED US GRAVE CONCERN. MY WIFE HAS MS AND CAN'T BE LEFT ON THE ROADSIDE. WE BELIEVE THIS VEHICLE HAS THE POTENTIAL TO BE UNSAFE, AND FORD WILL NOT STAND BEHIND THEIR REPAIRS AS THE COMPUTER SHOWS THE CODE THAT WOULD STATE THE ISSUE HAS HAPPENED AGAIN, BUT BECAUSE THE SERVICE DEPARTMENT COULD NOT CAUSE THE CODE TO OCCUR A THIRD TIME, THAT EVERYTHING IS WORKING WELL. AGAIN, WE BELIEVE THIS IS WRONG AND WISH TO MAKE THE PUBLIC AWARE OF A VERY REAL SAFETY ISSUE. WE HAVE CONTACTED THE DEALER ABOUT THE ISSUE. POWER STEERING MOTOR BOLTS CORRODED AND BROKE AT 65,000 MILES. THE MECHANIC INFORMED ME OF A PREVIOUS FORD RECALL BEING SAFETY RECALL 15S14. HOWEVER, THIS RECALL ONLY EXTENDED UNTIL MARCH 13TH, 2015, WHEREAS MY CAR WAS MANUFACTURED ON MARCH 24TH, 2015. BASED ON THIS TECHNICALITY FORD REFUSED TO COVER MY VEHICLE'S NUMEROUS TIMES. THE VEHICLE WAS IN MOTION AND I NEARLY LOST CONTROL OF THE VEHICLE. HAD THIS HAPPENED ON THE THRUWAY IT IS VERY LIKELY I WOULD HAVE BEEN INVOLVED IN A SERIOUS ACCIDENT. THERE IS AN ATTACHED INVOICE ATTACHED FOR THE DETAILS OF THE REPAIR, THE COST OF THE REPAIR TOTALED $1,878.53.
EVERY TIME I FILL UP THE GAS TANK AND I ATTEMPT TO START THE CAR, THE CAR RUNS ROUGH AND STALLS. IT TAKES TWO OR THREE TIME OF TRYING TO START THE CAR BEFORE IT WILL START. IT WILL RUN ROUGH FOR A WHILE BE IT STARTS RUNNING NORMAL.
When car shifts gear and car itself will jerk before settling. I had this issue prior to my 60K mile transmission warranty expired and the Ford dealership in Arlington, VA fixed it and stated that a piece in the transmission was broken and cause the transmission to not shift properly. They replaced it and a few years later I am having the same issue. I’ve also had issue where driving the entire electric system would shut off and then reset mid drive but that has only happened twice and that was back in 2018.
BACK ON 2/24/2019 I WAS BEHIND A VEHICLE THAT HAD TO SLAM IN THEIR BRAKES. I IMMEDIATELY SLAMMED ON MY BRAKES AND THE PEADLE WENT TO THE FLOOR. I TOOK MY CAR TO PLANET FORD AND WAS TOLD THAT MY RIGHT FRONT BRAKE HOSE HAD A WEAK SPOT IN THE LINE AND BUSTED. THE ONLY EXPLANATION WAS DUE TO AGE? AT THE TIME THE CAR WAS 4 YEARS OLD AND ONLY 61,000 MILES! THE CAUSED ME TO HAVE A WRECK AND COSTING I'VE $3,500? THIS HAPPENED IN SPRING, TX.
WHEN THE CAR IS COLD THE TRANSMISSION SHIFTS HARD, FROM PARK TO REVERSE THEN TO ALL GEARS UNTIL WE GET TO THE CORRECT SPEED. I TOOK IT TO THE DEALER I BOUGHT IT FROM WHILE IT WAS STILL UNDER WARRANTY (ABOUT 50000 MILES ON IT). THEY SAID THEY COULDN'T DO ANYTHING UNLESS THEY COULD DUPLICATE THE PROBLEM AND OF COURSE THEY COULDN'T GET IT TO. WELL NOW IT HAS STARTED DOING IT MORE OFTEN EVEN WHEN THE CAR IS WARM. I FEEL LIKE THIS IS AN ISSUE WITH A LOT OF FUSIONS.
'TAKATA RECALL' ON 6 FEB 2019, MY SON WAS CUT OFF BY ANOTHER DRIVER CAUSING HIM TO HYDROPLANE OFF OF THE HIGHWAY AND THROUGH A DITCH, MAKING CONTACT WITH A TREE. THE FUSION SUFFERED MODERATE DAMAGE TO THE FRONT END, AND UNDERCARRIAGE. NONE OF THE AIR BAGS IN THE VEHICLE DEPLOYED EVEN WITH THE FRONT END REMOVED. MY INSURANCE COMPANY IS TOTALING THE CAR MAKING MY WIFE AND I TO WONDER WHY OUR SON WAS NOT PROTECTED BY THE AIRBAG? IT CLEARLY SHOULD HAVE DEPLOYED GIVEN THE FORCE OF THE IMPACT. I HAVE SEEN THAT THERE WAS A CLASS ACTION LAWSUIT FOR THIS IN OCTOBER OF 2018. IS THIS CASE STILL OPEN?

THE PARTS TO DO THE REPAIR WERE UNAVAILABLE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE MANUFACTURER EXCEEDED A REASONABLE AMOUNT OF TIME FOR THE RECALL REPAIR. MAPLECREST FORD LINCOLN (2800 SPRINGFIELD AVE, VAUXHALL, NJ 07088, (908) 964-7700) WAS CONTACTED AND CONFIRMED THAT THE PARTS WERE NOT AVAILABLE FOR THE RECALL REMEDY. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 47,000. PARTS DISTRIBUTION DISCONNECT.
TAKATA RECALL. CAR SPUTTERS AS IF RUNNING OUT OF GAS BEFORE STALLING. HAPPENS SOMETIMES AFTER DRIVING A FEW HUNDRED FEET AND OTHER TIMES AFTER BEING DRIVEN FOR MILES. IDLES FINE IN PARK OR NEUTRAL. ENGINE LIGHT DOESN'T COME ON. COMPUTER SHOWS NO CODES. WHEN RECRANKING, ENGINE TURNS OVER SEVERAL TIMES AND CRANKS WITHOUT KEY BEING HELD IN ON POSITION. THIS REPEATS A FEW TIMES AND THEN CAR DRIVES FINE. HAS HAPPENED WHILE STATIONARY, IN MOTION, AND TURNING. ALWAYS AT LOW STARTING SPEEDS.
TAKATA RECALL - I WAS INVOLVED IN AN ACCIDENT 1/26/19. BIG FORD TRUCK HIT ME IN MY PASSENGER SIDE ABOUT THE MIDDLE OF THE CAR TOWARD THE REAR. IT SENT MY CAR INTO A COMPLETE 360 SPIN ACROSS 2 LANES OF TRAFFIC. NO AIR BAGS DEPLOYED. MY CAR HAS BEEN TOTALLED AND BOTH INSURANCES DEALT WITH ADVISED ME TO FIND OUT WHY NOT. MY CAR CURRENTLY DOES NOT HAVE A TAKATA RECALL ACCORDING TO WEBSITE. POSSIBLE IT SHOULD BE INCLUDED.
AFTER REFUELING THE VEHICLE IS DIFFICULT TO START, PUMPING THE ACCELERATOR HELPS BUT THE ENGINE WILL STALL SUDDENLY WITHIN A FEW MILES OF THE FILL UP. ON TWO OCCASIONS I HAVE LOST POWER WHEN DRIVING ON A MAJOR STREET WITH 1/4-1/2 TANK OF FUEL. THIS STALL IS PRECEEDED BY A LOUD, DISONATE NOISE FROM THE FUEL FILLER. THERE IS WWW INFORMATION REGARDING FAILED PURGE VALVES, BUT MOST INFORMATION IS FOR EARLIER MODELS. THE FOCUS RECALL SEEMS IDENTICAL. THIS IS OBVIOUSLY A SAFETY ISSUE AND I HAVE TAKEN THE CAUTION TO STAY OFF THE ROAD AFTER FUELING TILL THE ENGINE IS RUNNING SMOOTHLY. CODES CHECKED WITH ONLY ONE READING COMING UP -A YEAR AGO.
MY VEHICLE STALLS AFTER FUELING AND ALSO WHILE DRIVING. IT SEEMS TO BE A PROBLEM WITH MANY FORD FUSIONS. WHILE DRIVING, THE CAP LESS GAS FILLER WILL START VIBRATING AND RELIEVING PRESSURE FROM THE FUEL SYSTEM. THIS IS CAUSING THE CAR TO ACT LIKE IT IS MISFIRING AND RUN ROUGH. BEFORE I HAVE TIME TO PULL OFF THE BUSY CITY STREET THE CAR WILL SHUT OFF AND I'M LEFT SITTING IN THE MIDDLE OF THE ROAD TRYING TO GET THE CAR STARTED AND MOVED TO A SAFE LOCATION. OCCASIONALLY THE CAR WILL THROW A 1450, 2196, OR 0131 CODE. THE MAIN CODE IS 1450 WHICH IS AN EVAP CODE. I'VE REPLACED THE CANISTER AND WILL BE REPLACING THE PURGE VALVE SOON. THESE VALVES NEED TO BE LOOKED AT BECAUSE THEY CAN MALFUNCTION WITHOUT ANY WARNING AND POSE A SAFETY HAZARD.

CAR WOULD RESTART AFTER HARD CRANKING AFTER MOVING GEAR SHIFT INTO PARK. THIS WOULD TAKE PLACE AT STOP LIGHTS, IN THE DRIVEWAY AND ON THE STREET WHILE IN TRAFFIC. DEALER REPLACED THROTTLE BODY (PART # DS7Z 9E926C) AFTER VERIFYING CODE FROM ELECTRONIC ANALYSIS.
I WAS IN THE ABOUT TO TAKE MY WIFE TO WORK, I APPLIED THE BRAKES WENT TO SHIFT GEAR AND THE CAR GOT STUCK IN REVERSE I TRIED TO SHIFT BACK TO PARK AND I GOT MESSAGE ON THE DASH THAT SAID 'TRANSMISSION NOT IN PARK' SO APPLIED THE PARK BRAKE AND TURNED OFF THE CAR.

THE VEHICLE HAD NOT BEEN REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS UNKNOWN.
ENGINE SPUTTERS, LOSES POWERS, AND STALLS. THIS APPEARS TO HAPPEN AFTER THE CAR SITS FOR A PERIOD OF TIME AROUND 20-60 MINUTES AFTER HAVING BEEN DRIVEN AND THEN IS ONCE AGAIN STARTED AND DRIVEN AGAIN. AFTER BEING PLACED IN GEAR AND DRIVEN A VERY SHORT DISTANCE (5-10 SECOND LOW SPEED TIME WISE) THE ENGINE WILL BEGIN TO EXHIBIT THE STALLING SYMPTOMS OF LOW RPM AND HESITATION AND ALL ASSOCIATED SYSTEMS WILL BEGIN TO MALFUNCTIONS, I.E. HEADLIGHTS WILL FLICKER, BRAKES WILL LOSE POWER, ACCELERATOR WILL NO LONGER FUNCTION EVEN IF DEPRESSED 100% AS CAR IS DRIVE BY WIRE. THIS IS AN EXTREME SAFETY CONCERN. THE VEHICLE LOSING POWER AND NOT HAVING ALL CONTROL SYSTEMS FUNCTIONING AT 100% (THROTTLE, BRAKING, STEERING) ON ROADWAYS AND IN PARKING LOTS PLACES THE DRIVER, OTHER DRIVERS, AND ESPECIALLY PEDESTRIANS AT RISK OF INJURY AND DEATH AS THE VEHICLE UNEXPECTEDLY LOSES POWER AND OTHERS ARE NOT EXPECTING THE VEHICLE TO ACT IN SUCH A MANNER AND MAY NOT REACT ACCORDINGLY. A PEDESTRIAN MAY NOT REACT PROPERLY TO A CAR THAT LACKS ITS NORMAL STOPPING POWER, ANOTHER VEHICLE MAY NOT STOP FOR A CAR THAT IS NOT ACCELERATING AS IT WAS AND IS EXPECTED, ETC. I WAS APPROACHED RANDOMLY AT A GAS STATION BY ANOTHER OWNER OF A SIMILAR FORD FUSION DESCRIBING THE SAME SYMPTOMS ASKING IF MY CAR DID THIS AND EXPLAINED TO HER THAT BASED ON MY RESEARCH SHE'S NOT ALONE AND MANY OTHER OWNERS EXPERIENCE THIS SAME PROBLEM. MANY DEALERS APPEAR TO BE ABLE UNABLE TO DIAGNOSE/RESOLVE THE ISSUE, AND MY 2 ATTEMPTS TO CONTACT A DEALER TO OBTAIN SERVICE FOR THE PROBLEM HAVE RESULTED IN THE DEALERSHIP NOT RESPONDING TO THE ONLINE SERVICE REQUEST FORM. I HAVE HAD AT LEAST 4 STALLING EVENTS NOW AND AM UNABLE TO OBTAIN WARRANTY SERVICES AS DEALERSHIPS HAVE NOT RESPONDED TO MY MAINTENANCE REQUESTS. I HAVE FOOTAGE SAVED OF THE HEADLIGHTS FLICKERING AND VEHICLE STALLING IN A PARKING LOT AT LOW SPEED.

EVENTUALLY, ON THE THIRD OR FORTH ATTEMPT, THE ENGINE RUNS FINE WITHOUT TROUBLE. THIS PROBLEM OCCURS ABOUT ONCE EVERY FOUR TO SIX WEEKS. OTHER OWNERS REPORT THE ENGINE DYING WHILE DRIVING AT NORMAL SPEEDS. I HAVE NOT EXPERIENCED THIS. IT ONLY HAPPENS WHEN I AM PARKED, RIGHT AFTER STARTING THE ENGINE, OR WHEN I BEGIN TO ACCELERATE. THE PROBLEM HAS NOT HAPPENED WHEN THE ENGINE IS WARM, SO FAR.
