TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2015 FORD FUSION. WHILE THE VEHICLE WAS PARKED AND ATTEMPTING TO TURN OFF THE ENGINE, THE VEHICLE ROLLED AWAY. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE BRAKE PEDAL WAS DEPRESSED, BUT FAILED TO STOP THE VEHICLE. THE EMERGENCY BRAKE WAS ENGAGED IN ORDER TO STOP THE VEHICLE, BUT THE GEAR SHIFTER FAILED TO ENGAGE IN PARK. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO DON HINDS FORD INC. (12610 FORD DR., FISHERS, IN 46038, (317) 849-9000) WHERE THE CONTACT WAS MADE AWARE OF NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 18V471000 (POWER TRAIN). THE CONTACT RECEIVED NOTIFICATION OF THE RECALL, BUT THE PARTS WERE NOT AVAILABLE TO COMPLETE THE RECALL REPAIR. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 90,000. VIN TOOL CONFIRMS PARTS NOT AVAILABLE.
SEAT BELT LOCKS UP AND FAILS TO EXTEND. I BELIEVE THIS IS RELATED TO EXISTING NHTSA ID 10109079 BASED ON MY VIN. THIS HAPPENED TO BOTH MYSELF AND MY WIFE WHILE DRIVING MY VEHICLE AND IT PREVENTS THE DRIVER FROM HAVING A FULL RANGE OF MOTION WHILE OPERATING THE VEHICLE, AND IN ONE CASE PREVENTED MY WIFE FROM BEING ABLE TO PROPERLY EXIT THE VEHICLE TRAPPING HER INSIDE FOR A WHILE. A DRIVER BEING UNCOMFORTABLY RESTRAINED AND LACKING FULL RANGE OF MOTION WHILE OPERATING A MOTOR VEHICLE IS, IN BOTH OF OUR OPINIONS, A MAJOR SAFETY CONCERN AS IT IS NOT ONLY A DISTRACTION BUT PHYSICALLY IMPAIRS THE DRIVER WHILE THE VEHICLE IS IN OPERATION AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS. WHEN I MADE THE DEALERSHIP AWARE OF THE ISSUE AND REQUESTED REPAIRS UNDER WARRANTY THEY DID NOT MAKE ME AWARE OF THE TSB/NHTSA NOTICE ON THIS AND REFUSED REPAIR AND INSTEAD TOLD ME TO PERFORM MAINTENANCE MYSELF IN THE FORM OF "SPRAY IT WITH WD40" WITH NO FURTHER INSTRUCTIONS. IN THE PROCESS OF "SPRAYING IT WITH WD40" I WAS INJURED BY A RETRACTOR COIL SPRING AS FORD MOTOR COMPANY HAD COVERED UP A MANUFACTURER WARNING LABEL CHANGING A CRITICAL "DO NOT REMOVE" WARNING GIVING INSTEAD THE OPPOSITE MEANING OF "REMOVE" WHICH LEAD ME TO BELIEVE THIS WAS THE SERVICEABLE COMPONENT I WAS MEANT TO "SPRAY WITH WD40". UPON OPENING IT THE RETRACTOR COIL SPRING THEN SHOT OUT AND STRUCK ME NEAR MY EYE SOCKET RESULTING IN POSSIBLE INJURY INDUCED MYOKYMIA. ATTEMPTS TO CONTACT FORD HAVE FAILED AND THE DEALERSHIP HAS BEEN MOSTLY UNCOOPERATIVE ON THE ISSUE AND HAS DIRECTED ME TO FORD. I STILL REMAIN UNAWARE AS TO HOW THE WARNING ON THE SEAT BELT ASSEMBLY WAS MODIFIED, WHY REPAIRS WERE REFUSED UNDER WARRANTY WHEN NOTIFIED OF THE SAFETY ISSUE, AND WHY THE SAFETY ISSUE WAS IGNORED WHEN A TSB EXISTS THAT MAKES IT CLEAR FORD WAS AWARE SUCH SAFETY ISSUES EXIST WITH THEIR SAFETY RESTRAINT SYSTEM.
THE BUCKLE ON THE CENTER REAR SEAT STRAP IS INSTALLED BACKWARDS CAUSING IT TO BE TWISTED WHEN BUCKLED. IT WILL NOT UNTWIST. THIS IS A MAJOR SAFTY HAZZARD AS SEAT BELTS WORN INCORRECTLY CAN CAUSE DAMAGE TO INTERNAL ORGANS WHEN AN ACCIDENT. THIS HAS RENDERED MY MIDLE REAR SEAT UNSAFE TO USE.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2015 FORD FUSION. WHILE THE VEHICLE WAS IDLING, THE CONTACT SHIFTED INTO PARK AND THE VEHICLE ROLLED AWAY INDEPENDENTLY. THE "TRANSMISSION NOT IN PARK" WARNING INDICATOR ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO AUTONATION FORD WOLFCHASE (7925 STAGE RD, MEMPHIS, TN) WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE FAILURE WAS DUE TO NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 18V471000 (POWER TRAIN); HOWEVER, THE PARTS TO DO THE REPAIR WERE UNAVAILABLE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE DEALER REFUSED TO PERFORM THE REPAIR FOR FREE OF CHARGE DUE TO THE RECALL NOTICE BEING A PRELIMINARY NOTICE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE MANUFACTURER EXCEEDED A REASONABLE AMOUNT OF TIME FOR THE RECALL REPAIR. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED AND WAS NOT ABLE TO CONFIRM WHEN THE PARTS WERE TO BECOME AVAILABLE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 89,000. PARTS DISTRIBUTION DISCONNECT.

THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO VAN BORTEL FORD, INC. (71 MARSH RD, EAST ROCHESTER, NY 14445, 585-586-4415) WHERE THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED OF AN UNKNOWN PENDING RECALL. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE AND STATED THAT THE CONTACT NEEDED TO PAY FOR THE REPAIRS AND BE REIMBURSED IF THE RECALL BECAME FINALIZED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 85,000. THE VIN WAS NOT PROVIDED.

THE FAILURE PREVENTED THE CONTACT FROM VIEWING THE FUEL GAUGE, SPEEDOMETER, AND TACHOMETER. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE LIGHTING RETURNED AFTER APPROXIMATELY 20 MINUTES. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE FAILURE WAS INTERMITTENT. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO APPLE FORD (3250 CAPE HORN RD, RED LION, PA 17356, (717) 244-7677) TO BE DIAGNOSED, BUT THE MECHANIC WAS UNABLE TO RETRIEVE A FAULT CODE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS INFORMED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 23,685.
THE SHIFTER CABLE FAILED TO ENGAGE AND MY CAR WAS STUCK IN REVERSE AND BEGAN BACKING UP WHILE GEAR SAID IT WAS IN PARK. I TURNED CAR OFF AND IT WOULD NO LONGER CRANK BECAUSE GEAR WAS SHOWING IN REVERSE. I CONTACTED DEALERSHIP REGARDING RECALL AND THEY SAID I HAD TO PAY FOR IT. RECALL NUMBER IS 18V471

THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO HARROLD FORD (1535 HOWE AVE, SACRAMENTO, CA 95825, (877) 514-2833) WHERE THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THE FAILURE WAS DUE TO NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 18V471000 (POWER TRAIN). THE DEALER STATED THAT THE PARTS WERE NOT AVAILABLE FOR THE RECALL REPAIR. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 55,666. VIN TOOL CONFIRMS PARTS NOT AVAILABLE.
WHILE DRIVING THIS VEHICLE THE ENGINE MISFIRES DECREASE IN POWER AND COMPLETELY STOPS ACCELERATION. IT ALSO USES A GREAT DEAL OF FUEL. THE COOLANT CONSTANTLY LEAKS OUT AND THE ENGINE OVERHEATS EVERY FEW MINUTES. THE CAR ALSO OVERHEATS WHEN SITTING IN A PARKED POSITION. WHILE DRIVING ON THE FREEWAY THE CAR SLOWED TO 25MPH. WE WERE VERY CLOSE TO BEING INVOLVED IN AN ACCIDENT.
I PULLED IN TO A PARKING SPACE AND PLACED MY VEHICLE IN PARK, AS I WAS GETTING READY TO EXIT MY CAR THE CAR STARTED TO MOVE FORWARD, I CHECK TO MAKE SURE THE VEHICLE WAS IN PARK, THE SHIFTER WAS STUCK IN PARK, AND THE INSTRUMENT PANEL WAS IN DRIVE. I CHECKED TO ASSURE THE VEHICLE WAS OFF AND REMOVED THE KEY AND PUT THE PARKING BRAKE ON. I WAS PANICKED THAT MY CAR WAS STILL IN MOTION AND COULD HAVE IT HIT ANOTHER VEHICLE, OR A PERSON IN THE PARKING LOT OR MYSELF. WHEN THE TOW TRUCK DRIVER REMOVED THE PARKING BREAK THE CAR WAS STILL OUT OF GEAR AND THE OPEN DOOR KNOCKED HIM OFF BALANCE. THE FORD DEALER FOUND THAT THE BUSHING ON THE SHIFTER CABLE WAS MISSING, AND THE WHOLE SHIFTER CABLE AND BUSHING HAD TO BE REPLACED. I HAVE NO CONFIDENCE THAT THE PARTS PUT ON MY VEHICLE ARE GOING TO LAST. WHEN I ASKED ABOUT THE RECALL, I WAS TOLD THAT THE RECALL WAS NOT IN EFFECT YET, BECAUSE THE PARTS ARE UNAVAILABLE. I PAID FOR THIS OUT OF POCKET. I DID NOT RECEIVE A SAFETY NOTICE AS STATED IN THE NHTSA RECALL #18V-471 REPORT. I BELIEVE THAT FORD IS VERY NEGLIGENT IN NOTIFICATIONS TO THE OWNERS OF THERE VEHICLES. A LETTER TO OWNERS AS STATED IN THE ABOVE REPORT "DESCRIPTION OF REMEDY PROGRAM" IS A SIMPLE THING TO HAVE ISSUED SO PEOPLE ARE SAFE, BEFORE THE PARTS ARE AVAILABLE; I DID NOT RECEIVE A LETTER FROM FORD MOTOR CO. IF SOMETHING IS NOT DONE SOON SOMEONE IS GOING TO BE INJURED OR KILLED BY THIS ISSUE. I BELIEVE THAT THIS VEHICLE IS VERY UNSAFE TO DRIVE WITH THE STEERING WHEEL RECALL AND I ALSO HAD TO HAVE THE STEERING BOX REPLACED ALSO.

AFTER THE FAILURE, THE VEHICLE FAILED TO ENGAGE INTO ANY GEAR. IN ORDER TO KEEP THE VEHICLE FROM MOVING, THE EMERGENCY BRAKE HAD TO BE ENGAGED. THE CONTACT ALSO RECEIVED A RECALL NOTIFICATION FOR NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 18V417000 (POWER TRAIN), BUT THE DEALER (MCLARTY DANIEL FORD, 2609 S WALTON BOULEVARD, BENTONVILLE, AR 72712) WAS CONTACTED AND STATED THAT THE PARTS WERE NOT AVAILABLE FOR THE RECALL REPAIR. THE FAILURE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 62,000. VIN TOOL CONFIRMS PARTS NOT AVAILABLE.
MY CAR WAS PART OF THE RECALL FOR THE BUSHING CABLE BUT WAS TOLD BY THE DEALERSHIP WHO WAS TOLD BY THE SPECIALTY GROUP AT FORD THAT IT WAS NOT AN ACTUAL RECALL SO I WILL HAVE TO PAY FOR THE REPAIRS UPFRONT UNTIL IT BECAME A LEGITIMATE RECALL AND THE PARTS WERE AVAILABLE. I EVEN HAD MY CAR TOWED TO THE DEALERSHIP UNDER THE IMPRESSION THAT THE COST WOULD BE COVERED BY FORD SINCE IT HAS SOMETHING TO DO WITH THE RECALL BUT NOW AFTER SPEAKING TO THE DEALERSHIP THAT IS NOT A GUARANTEE NOR IS THE RENTAL CAR THAT I AM HAVING TO USE SINCE MY CAR IS DOWN DUE TO THE RECALL. I FILED A PREVIOUS COMPLAINT REGARDING THE SHIFTER CABLE BUSHING GOING OUT BUT THIS COMPLAINT IS IN REGARDS TO FORD NOT HAVING THE BUSHING OR THE SHIFTER CABLE TO FIX MY CAR EVEN THOUGH I WAS TOLD THAT IT WOULD BE FIXED IN A COUPLE OF DAYS, I WOULD PAY FOR THE REPAIRS THEN THEY WOULD REIMBURSE ME ONCE IT BECAME AN ACTUAL RECALL. I AM NOT REFUSING THE REPAIRS BUT CAN NOT WAIT A MONTH FOR THE PARTS TO COME IN NOR CAN I AFFORD A BILL FOR OVER $500 THAT WAS PART OF A RECALL THAT FORD ISSUED BUT IS NOW SAYING IS NOT AN ACTUAL RECALL. WHAT AM I SUPPOSED TO DO? I AM GOING TO GO GET MY CAR AND HAVE A MORE RELIABLE FIGURE FIX MY CAR AND PROCEED FROM THERE. ALSO NOW I AM OUT A TOW BILL AND $35 FOR 3 DAYS ON A RENTAL SINCE FORD DID NOT DO WHAT THEY SAID THEY WOULD DO STATED ON THEIR DECLAIMER THAT DEALERS WILL REPLACE THE SHIFTER CABLE BUSHING AT NO COST TO THE CUSTOMER EXCEPT THIS CUSTOMER. THIS WAS ON THEIR FORD MEDIA WEBSITE.
THE DISPLAY IN THE DASHBOARD SHOWS THE MESSAGE "TEMPORARY LOST COMMUNICATION WITH THE CLIMATE SYSTEM", AND LOCKS THE WINDOWS, THE VENTS STOP WORKING, NO AIR IS COMING THROUGH. IN ADDITION, THE CROSS TRAFFIC WARNING STOPS WORKING, AS WELL.

TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2015 FORD FUSION. WHILE DRIVING LESS THAN 25 MPH, THE STEERING WHEEL SEIZED. THE CONTACT HAD TO RESTART THE VEHICLE APPROXIMATELY FOUR TIMES BEFORE THE STEERING WHEEL WOULD WORK PROPERLY. IN ADDITION, THE WARNING INDICATORS ON THE STEERING WHEEL ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER (HEALEY FORD LINCOLN, 2528 ROUTE 17M, GOSHEN, NY 10924, (877) 706-3640) WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE STEERING WHEEL FAILED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS CONTACTED AND STATED THAT THERE WERE NO RECALLS FOR THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 72,880.
SHIFTER BUSHING CABLE - THIS PART BROKE OFF FROM MY VEHICLE BACK IN JULY. THE BUSHING CONNECTS SHIFTER ARM TO TRANSMISSION. WITHOUT THIS PIECE, MY VEHICLE NEEDS ASSISTANCE TO COMPLETE EVERY SINGLE SHIFT. WHEN ATTEMPTING TO MOVE FROM PARK TO DRIVE, I HAVE TO GET OUT OF MY VEHICLE, OPEN THE HOOD, PLACE THE SHIFTER DOWN ON THE TRANSMISSION ARM, THEN SHIFT THE CART. TO GO FROM DRIVE TO PARK, I HAVE TO ENGAGE THE PARKING BREAK, GET OUT OF THE CAR, POP THE HOOD, REATTACH THE SHIFTER ARM, THEN SHIFT THE CAR. THIS ISSUE HAS BEEN ONGOING SINCE JULY 2018 WITH NO NOTICE FROM FORD ON WHEN THE REPLACEMENT PART WILL BE AVAILABLE. THIS SPECIFIC PART IS NOT SOLD ON THE AFTERMARKET EITHER, MEANING THAT I DO NOT HAVE ANY WAY TO FIX MY CAR AND THUS HAVE TO DEAL WITH THE ISSUE EVERY SINGLE TIME I DRIVE THE CAR. I'M VERY CONCERNED THAT ALL OF THIS SHIFTING AND OPENING AND CLOSING OF MY HOOD IS CAUSING LONG-TERM DAMAGE TO THE CAR (THAT FORD WOULD MOST LIKELY NOT FIX). I HAVE CALLED FORD OVER 8 TIMES TO COMPLAIN AND HAVE RECEIVED NO ETA ON PARTS, NO OTHER WAY TO FIX THE ISSUE, NOR ANY COMPENSATION/HELP TOWARDS ME BEING ABLE TO USE MY CAR. RECALL WAS ISSUED ON JULY 20TH, 2018; OVER 3 MONTHS LATER, NO REPLACEMENT PART HAS BEEN PROVIDED.
I INITIALLY CALLED ON 724/2018, INCIDENT# 1256726. I HAD AN ISSUE WHERE MY CAR WAS PLACED IN PARK, BUT CAR THOUGHT IT WAS STILL IN DRIVE. FOUND OUT THERE WAS AN OPEN RECALL FOR THIS ISSUE (MANUFACTURER RECALL#18S20). I ALSO REACHED OUT TO FORD MOTORS, WHO ADVISED TO WAIT UNTIL CAR DIAGNOSED AND SEE WHAT REALLY CAUSED THE ISSUE. PER THE AUTONATION FORD DEALERSHIP THAT WORKED ON MY CAR, IT WASN'T THE EXACT SAME CAUSE AS THE RECALL, BUT THE EFFECT WAS THE SAME THAT THE CAR NOT KNOW WHAT GEAR IT WAS ACTUALLY PLACED IN... GEAR SHIFT STOPPED WORKING, BRAKE LIGHTS STOPPED WORKING, THEN ENGINE WOULDN'T START, AS CAR ALREADY THOUGHT IT WAS IN DRIVE. FORD ADVISED IF ISSUE NOT CAUSED BY WHATS IN RECALL THAT I WOULD HAVE TO PAY. MY RESPONSE WAS "IF SOMETHING ELSE CAUSED THE EXACT SAME ISSUE, SOUNDS LIKE THE RECALL SHOULD BE ADJUSTED TO COVER MORE THAN JUST ONE CABLE. SEEMS LIKE FORD AGREED, BECAUSE THEY FIXED THE ISSUE FOR FREE. PAPERWORK SAYS ISSUE WAS "CABLE ASSEMBLY- SELECTOR LEVER. SHIFTER CABLE WAS REPLACED. I THEN CALLED FORD MOTOTRS THE NEXT DAY TO FOLLOW-UP ON MY PREVIOUS CALL... I WAS ADVISED THAT PART FOR THE RECALL WOULDN'T BE AVAILABLE UNTIL LATE SEPTEMBER, WHICH IS A VERY LONG TIME FOR AN UNSAFE CAR. MY ISSUE IS THIS IS MY 2ND RECALL, AND I'VE ONLY OWNED THE CAR FOR 3 MONTHS. I ADVISED FORD MOTORS I FELT THE CAR WAS UNSAFE. REP ASKED ME "WHAT DO YOU WANT"... I ADVISED I WOULD LIKE TO SEEK POSSIBLE TRADE-IN FOR A SAFER CAR, AND THIS CAR, NOR ANY CAR WITH 2 RECALLS SHOULD STILL BE ON ROAD. REP THEN GIVES ME THE PHONE NUMBER AND PHONE OPTION TO REACH THE "BUYBACK/TRADE-IN REQUEST PROGRAM" PHONE NUMBER WAS 800-392-3673, OPTION 1, OPTION 4, THEN OPTION 5. SHE ADVISED I NEEDED MY VIN, THEN IT WOULD ASK FOR MY MILEAGE. OPTION 1 WAS ENGLISH, 4 WAS FOR RECALLS, AND 5 WAS TO REPEAT THOSE OPTIONS AGAIN. I CALLED BACK 6 MORE TIMES, AND TRIED DIFFERENT OPTIONS UNSUCCESSFULLY.

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER (ART HILL FORD LINCOLN, 901 W LINCOLN HWY, MERRILLVILLE, IN 46410) WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE TRANSMISSION FAILED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 137,000.

AFTER TESTING I RECEIVED A PHONE CALL SAYING THE BUSHINGS THAT ATTACH THE SHIFTER CABLE TO THE TRANSMISSION HAD DETACHED FROM THE TRANSMISSION CAUSING MY VEHICLE TO BE IN PARK BUT STUCK IN REVERSE CAUSING THE VEHICLE TO ROLL BACKWARDS WITHOUT ME KNOWING BECAUSE I THINK IT'S IN PARK AND THERE'S NO SIGN OF ME KNOWING IT'S STUCK IN REVERSE EXCEPT WHEN IT STARTED TO ROLL AWAY AND ALMOST OVER ME AS I WAS GETTING OUT. VEHICLE WAS IN MOTION AFTER EXITING THE FREEWAY FROM A 45 MINUTE DRIVE AT 70 MPH. BRAKES NEEDED MORE PRESSURE THAN NORMAL TO SLOW AND STOP THE CAR. ONCE VEHICLE CAME TO A STOP AND WITHOUT APPLYING ANY ADDITIONAL PRESSURE TO THE BRAKE PEDAL THE PEDAL BECAME SPONGEY AND MOVED COMPLETELY TO THE FLOOR. I SHIFTED THE VEHICLE TO PARK AND TRIED THE BRAKES AGAIN, THIS TIME IT FELT OK. I CONTINUED DRIVING AND THE PEDAL CONTINUED TO DO THIS OVER AND OVER AGAIN. I PULLED INTO A AUTO PARTS STORE AND CHECKED THE BRAKE FLUID, THE RESERVOIR WAS NOT SHOWING ANY FLUID. I PROCEEDED INTO THE STORE PURCHASED ADDITIONAL BRAKE FLUID AND TOPPED OFF THE BRAKE FLUID. UPON GETTING BACK IN THE VEHICLE I TRIED THE BRAKES SEVERAL TIMES AND COULD NOT GET A FIRM PEDAL. I GOT BACK OUT OF THE CAR AND INSPECTED EACH OF THE WHEEL AREAS. UPON REACHING THE RIGHT FRONT I FOUND BRAKE FLUID RUNNING OUT FROM UNDERNEATH THE VEHICLE. AFTER CLOSER INSPECTION THE FLEX LINE TO THE CALIPER HAD FAILED AND WAS SPRAYING BRAKE FLUID WHEN THE BRAKE PEDAL WAS PRESSED AND SUCKING AIR INTO THE SYSTEM WHEN THE BRAKE PEDAL WAS RELEASED. THIS ENTIRE TIME THE CAR NEVER REPORTED HAVING ANYTHING WRONG WITH THE BRAKES. THERE SHOULD HAVE BEEN A WARNING LIGHT THAT THE BRAKE FLUID WAS LOW. THE VEHICLE WAS IN MOTION GOING ABOUT 40 MPH WHEN IT SUDDENLY LOST POWER AND THE ENGINE BEGAN RUNNING ROUGH. THE CAR JUST SLOWED SUDDENLY. THIS HAPPENED FOUR TIMES BEFORE FORD COULD GET THE CODE TO SHOW UP. IT WAS THE ELECTRONIC THROTTLE BODY.
AFTER GETTING RECALL NOTICE, CALLED LOCAL DEALER OURISMAN FORD 3 TIMES TRYING TO SCHEDULE A REPAIR, EACH TIME BEING REFFERED TO A A "RECALL SPECIALIST" THAT EITHER GOES TO VOICE MAIL OR NEVER CALLS ME BACK. THEY WILL NOT SCHEDULE THE REPAIR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2015 FORD FUSION. THE CONTACT RECEIVED NOTIFICATION OF NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 18V167000 (STEERING); HOWEVER, THE PARTS TO DO THE REPAIR WERE UNAVAILABLE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE MANUFACTURER EXCEEDED A REASONABLE AMOUNT OF TIME FOR THE RECALL REPAIR. BOMMARITO FORD (675 DUNN RD, HAZELWOOD, MO 63042, (314) 895-0600) WAS CONTACTED AND CONFIRMED THAT THE PARTS WERE NOT AVAILABLE AFTER JULY OF 2018 FOR THE RECALL REMEDY. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE ISSUE. THE CONTACT HAD NOT EXPERIENCED A FAILURE. PARTS DISTRIBUTION DISCONNECT.
2015 FORD FUSION 'S' (EPAS) DEFECT. 50,200 MILES ON ODOMETER AT TIME OF OCCURRENCE. VEHICLE WAS STATIONARY. FUSION'S 2.5L ENGINE (COLD) WOULD NOT START AFTER BEING AT REST FOR EIGHT HOURS. DISPLAY DEPICTED "POWER STEERING ASSIST FAULT" AND "SERVICE ADVANCE TRAC". VEHICLE WOULD NOT START, EVEN WITH (PROPER) JUMP. ALL INTERIOR AND EXTERIOR LIGHTING WAS VERY BRIGHT. TOWED TO FORD DEALERSHIP. I WAS TOLD BY SERVICE MANAGER THAT BATTERY WAS "GOING BAD" AND TOLD OF $2086.00 FIX TO THE EPAS (ALONE). I WAS NOT PREVIOUSLY HAVING ANY STEERING ISSUES OR CONCERNS. NOTIFIED FORD INC. AND WAS ISSUED A "CAS" CASE NUMBER AND TOLD TO LOOK FOR AN EMAIL FROM THEM IN TWO DAYS WITH THEIR RESOLUTION DECISION, IF ANY. I AM NOT OPTIMISTIC. VEHICLE WAS PROPERLY MAINTAINED AND ALWAYS GARAGED. SEVERAL OF MY SERVICE VISITS WERE AT MULTIPLE FORD DEALERSHIPS, SO MAYBE THAT WILL HELP MY CASE. A TWO THOUSAND DOLLAR REPAIR, ON A "GARAGE KEPT" THREE YEAR OLD CAR, WITH 50K MILES, ALBEIT OUT OF 3/36 WARRANTY, IS SIMPLY NOT ACCEPTABLE. LUCKILY, NO ONE IN MY FAMILY WAS INJURED/KILLED BY THIS DEFECT. SADLY, FORD'S REFUSAL TO ACKNOWLEDGE THIS PROBLEM WILL OBVIOUSLY COST LIVES DOWN THE ROAD, DUE TO EPAS FAILURE, NOT TO MENTION FUTURE SALES.
MOVED MY TRANSMISSION FROM DRIVE TO PARK AND IT GOT STUCK IN PARK. TRIED TO MOVE IT BACK TO DRIVE BUT TRANSMISSION WOULDN'T SHIFT. IN CAR THE TRANSMISSION SHIFTS TO DRIVE BUT IT DOESN'T MOVE
I RECEIVED A RECALL NOTICE (18S08 RECALL 18V-167) IN MAY OF 2018, IRONICALLY RIGHT AFTER MY CHARGING DEVICE MELTED IN MY GARAGE OUTLET. FORD HAS SAID FOR MONTHS THAT THEY WOULD HAVE THIS RESOLVED BY 2019. I WENT TWO WEEKS AGO TO MY DEAL AND THEY STILL HAVE NO UPDATE AS TO WHEN THIS WILL BE RESOLVED. I HAVE NOT BEEN ABLE TO CHARGE MY CAR AT HOME IN A YEAR!!! THIS IS NOT ACCEPTABLE...
