THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 32,125.
WAS DRIVING LAST THURSDAY NOV 10 2016 ON MY WAY TO WORK, STOP AT RED LIGHT THEN MADE A LEFT HAND TURN AND COULD NOT CONTROL MY STEERING. ALMOST HIT TELEPHONE POLE DUE TO NOT BE ABLE TO TURN MY STEERING WHEEL. HAD TO CALL TOW TRUCK AND TOW IT INTO HAGERSTOWN FORD. NEED TO ORDER WHOLE NEW STEERING BOX. I WONDER HOW THIS COULD HAPPEN TO A VEHICLE ONLY ONE YEAR OLD WITH ONLY 70,000 MILES. I SEEN THEY HAD RECALL 15S14 REGARDING THE STEERING. I WAS NEVER NOTIFTY.

THE FAILURE RECURRED ON NUMEROUS OCCASIONS. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A DEALER WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE PURGE VALVE NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 44,000.

THE SAME FAILURE OCCURRED PREVIOUSLY. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHO DETERMINED THAT THE CAM POSITION SHAFT NEEDED REPLACEMENT. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 90,486.

I WAS ON THE FREEWAY AND MY FUSION STARTED SHAKING VIOLENTLY, THE ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON, AND I LOST POWER. I HAD TO PULL OVER AS QUICKLY AS POSSIBLE. LUCKY FOR ME IT WAS A SATURDAY MORNING AND NOT MANY PEOPLE WERE ON THE ROAD. I COULD HAVE EASILY BEEN IN AN ACCIDENT OTHERWISE.

IN ADDITION, WHILE DRIVING VARIOUS SPEEDS, THE VEHICLE STALLED WITHOUT WARNING. THE CONTACT ALSO STATED THAT THE CHECK ENGINE INDICATOR REMAINED ILLUMINATED. THE DEALER AND MANUFACTURER WERE NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 60,000.
TAKATA RECALL: ON MY WAY HOME I WOULD BE SITTING AT THE LIGHT. AND THEN ALL OF A SUDDEN THE CAR WOULDN'T MOVE. IT HAD JUST SHUT OFF ON ME. THEN AFTER A WHILE THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT WOULD COME ON, BUT THEN IT WOULD GOT OUT. THEN A WEEK OR TWO LATER THE CAR STARTED TO MAKE A NOISE AND THEN IT WOULD SHUT OFF, WITH OUT ME PHYSICALLY DOING SO. I WOULD HAVE TO PUT THE CAR IN PARK, TURN THE CAR OFF, WAIT A FEW MINUTES AND THEN START IT UP AGAIN. AND THE CAR WOULD RUN AS IF NOTHING HAD HAPPENED. THIS WOULD HAPPEN MORE OFTEN WHEN I'M IN RUSH HOUR ( STOP AND GO TRAFFIC). THEN I FIGURED MAYBE IF I TOOK THE HWY HOME IT WOULDN'T DO THAT. NO SUCH LUCK. AS I WAS JUST ABOUT TO GET OFF AT THE EXIT I NEEDED IT MADE THAT SAME NOISE AGAIN. I HAD JUST GOT OFF THE HWY ONTO A BUSY STREET (DURING RUSH HOUR). I WAS IN THE RIGHT TURNING LANE AND COULDN'T GO ANYWHERE FOR A FEW SECONDS. SO UNTIL I WAS ABLE TO GET IT FIXED I WOULD HAVE TO TAKE THE SIDE STREETS JUST IN CASE IT HAPPENED AGAIN. AT LEAST ON A SIDE STREET I'LL HAVE TIME TO PULL OVER OUT OF THE WAY OF TRAFFIC TO LET THE CAR SIT FOR A SECOND TO READJUST ITSELF. THIS WOULD HAPPEN EVERY SO OFTEN, UNTIL WE HAD A CHANCE TO GET IT FIXED.

BRAKES "AUTOMATICALLY" APPLY WITH NO WARNING OR REASON. MANUFACTURER ISSUED "SSM 45775" BUT WILL NOT TELL ME WHEN.
AFTER THE CAR HAS BEEN OFF FOR SOME TIME. PUT THE CAR IN REVERSE. AFTER REVERSING OUT OF SPOT, ETC. AND PUT THE CAR INTO "L"; UPON MOVING FORWARD, THE ENGINE STARTS RACING AND LURCHES UNCONTROLLABLY FORWARD. ALMOST LIKE THE CAR IS ENGINE BRAKING DOWN A LARGE HILL, BUT NO HILL AND IS ACCELERATING WITHOUT APPLYING BRAKES. THIS IS THE PLUG-IN HYBRID MODEL. THERE IS NO INCLINE WHEN THIS HAPPENS.
APPROX. 32K MILES. CAR HAD BEEN PARKED FOR ABOUT 4 HOURS ON LEVEL SURFACE STREET. SUNNY DAY, ABOUT 80 DEG. F. UPON STARTING THE VEHICLE TO DRIVE, THE DRIVERS SEAT BELT WAS SEIZED IN RETRACTED POSITION AND WOULD NOT EXTEND. AFTER JERKING ON THE BELT 4-5 TIMES AS HARD AND QUICK AS POSSIBLE THE BELT HAS FREED UP FOR NOW; HOWEVER, I HAVE NO IDEA IF THIS WILL BE A RECURRING PROBLEM OR A COMMON PROBLEM. VEHICLE DETAILS: 2015 FORD FUSION SE HYBRID.
THE VEHICLE DISPLAYED A "WRENCH" LIGHT AND THE VEHICLE SUFFERED DIMINISHED PERFORMANCE WHILE DRIVING. THIS HAPPENED SPORADICALLY BOTH WHEN STATIONARY AND DRIVING FOR TWO WEEKS. EACH TIME I TOOK IT TO THE DEALER THE "WRENCH" WAS NOT ON AND THEY COULD NOT CAPTURE A "CODE." FINALLY, ONE MORNING THE LIGHT WAS ON AND I WAS ABLE TO TAKE IT DIRECTLY TO THE DEALER AND THEY IDENTIFIED THE ELECTRONIC THROTTLE BODY AS DEFECTIVE.
THE DRIVER'S SIDE SEATBELT WON'T EXTEND WHILE THE CAR IS OFF. IT LOCKS UP. BECAUSE THE SEATBELT WON'T RELEASE, I CAN'T FASTEN IT INTO THE BUCKLE. BECAUSE I CAN'T PUT-ON THE DRIVER'S SIDE SEATBELT, I CAN'T DRIVE THE CAR. THE SEATBELT ALSO LOCKS UP WHILE I'M DRIVING THE VEHICLE, SO I CAN'T MOVE AROUND FREELY TO REACH THE CONTROL PANEL. THIS HAPPENS SO FREQUENTLY I HAD TO HAVE IT TOWED TO THE DEALER BECAUSE I CAN'T DRIVE WITHOUT A SEATBELT. THE DEALER CAN'T REPRODUCE THE PROBLEM. I CONTACTED FORD, AND THEY SAID BECAUSE THEY CAN'T REPRODUCE THE PROBLEM, THEY CAN'T HELP ME.
DRIVERS SIDE DOOR GLASS SHATTERED WHEN OPENING DOOR .VEHICLE STATIONARY IN DRIVEWAY HAVE ALSO FOUND CRACK IN WINDSHIELD.
WHEN STEERING THE CAR IN A TURN, SUCH AS ON AND OFF RAMPS, THE STEERING WHEEL WILL JERK IN THE DIRECTION OF STEERING AND THE (TCS) TRACTION CONTROL SYSTEM LIGHT COMES ON. THIS BEGAN HAPPENING AFTER TAKING THE CAR TO THE DEALERSHIP TO HAVE A RECALLED STEERING BOLT REPLACED. I HAVE TAKEN THE CAR TO THREE FORD DEALERSHIPS, AND NONE OF THEM CAN FIND ANYTHING WRONG. I TOOK THE CAR TO THE FORD DEALERSHIP RECENTLY ON 2-26-2121 AND WAS TOLD THAT THE STEERING BALL JOINT NEEDED TO BE REPLACED FOR $610.00 WHICH I FOUND ABSURD.
SOMEONE IS GOING TO BE KILLED DRIVING THIS VEHICLE IN A DRIVING RAINSTORM. TWICE SINCE BUYING THIS CAR, LESS THAN 30 DAYS AGO, I HAVE BEEN CAUGHT IN A RAINSTORM, ON THE INTERSTATE, AND THE WINDSHIELD WIPERS, AT THEIR HIGHEST SPEED, WILL NOT COMPLETELY CLEAR THE WINDSHIELD ENOUGH FOR SUFFICIENT VISIBILITY. I HAVE HAD TO STOP AND PULL OVER AND WAIT FOR THE RAIN TO QUIT. YOU HAVE ABSOLUTELY ZERO VISIBILITY. EVEN SLOWING THE VEHICLE DOWN DIDN'T HELP. I WAS BASICALLY BLINDED FOR AT LEAST 4-5 SECONDS AT ANY GIVEN TIME DURING THE STORM, PRAYING THE ENTIRE TIME THAT I DIDN'T HIT SOMEONE, OR SOMEONE DIDN'T HIT ME. TO MAKE MATTERS WORSE, BOTH OF MY CHILDREN WERE IN THE CAR. NOT WHAT I EXPECTED OUT OF A BRAND NEW VEHICLE. I'M VERY DISAPPOINTED IN FORD, AND HOPE THAT THIS SITUATION IS RECTIFIED BEFORE SOMEONE IS KILLED.
MY 2015 FORD FUSION HYBRID HAD 11,000 MILES ON IT. I OPENED MY GARAGE DOOR AND GOT IN TO GO TO WORK AND CAR WAS DEAD. NO ELECTRICAL RESPONSE. CALLED FORD ROAD SERVICE AND CAR WAS DRAGGED OUT OF MY GARAGE AND ONTO A FLAT BED AND TAKEN TO MY DEALERSHIP. CAR HAS BEEN IN SHOP FOR A WEEK NOW AND STILL NO DIAGNOSIS. NO MATTER WHAT THEY DO, THE CAR IS DRAWING POWER WHEN IT IS TURNED OFF AND KILLS THE BATTERY IN 2 HOURS. THEY ARE WORKING WITH FORD SYSTEM WIDE AND NO ONE HAS SEEN THIS TYPE OF FAULT YET. TO ME IT SEEMS TO BE SOME KIND OF SOFTWARE FAULT BUT PER FORD TROUBLESHOOTING, THEY HAVE TO TEAR MY CAR APART AND CHECK EVERY WIRE AND FUSE BEFORE LOOKING AT THE SOFTWARE ISSUES. THIS IS MY FIRST HYBRID AND I AM QUESTIONING MY DECISION.

STEERING WILL PULL LEFT OR RIGHT UNCONTROLLABLY THIS PROBLEM HAS BEEN HAPPENING ON A REGULAR BASIS . WHILE DRIVING THE STEERING WILL PULL THE CAR LEFT OR RIGHT WITHOUT WARNING. IT SEEMS TO HAPPEN WHEN NEARING A CORNER OR CURVE IN THE ROAD BUT IS NOT LIMITED TO THAT. AFTER SEVERAL OCCURRENCES MY WIFE IS NOW AFRAID TO DRIVE THE CAR. WE HAD A CLOSE CALL WHEN THE WHEEL SUDDENLY TURNED TO THE RIGHT WHILE WE WERE ATTEMPTING TO PASS A VEHICLE. PEOPLE CAN BE SERIOUSLY HURT OR DIE FROM THIS PROBLEM. I HAVE NOT SEEN ANY RECALL FROM FORD ON THIS PROBLEM AND THE DEALERSHIPS I INQUIRED AT (2) HAVE NO KNOWLEDGE OF THE PROBLEM. I AM AFRAID IT MAY CAUSE A SERIOUS ACCIDENT. THIS ISSUE NEEDS TO BE ADDRESSED,
THE VOLUME ON THE REVERSE SENSING SYSTEM IS TO LOW. WITH THE RADIO ON IT IS BARELY NOTICEABLE. I OWNED ANOTHER FORD THAT I TRADED IN ON THIS CAR AND THE VOLUME WAS NICE AND LOUD. I CONTACTED FORD VIA THEIR WEB PAGE AND THEY COULD NOT HELP ME. THE CUSTOMER SERVICE AGENT DID NOT KNOW IF THE VOLUME COULD BE ADJUSTED .

THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THE TRANSMISSION NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 20,905.
STARTED CAR AND SEVERAL WARNINGS POPPED UP ON DISPLAY... SOMETHING ABOUT "HILL ASSIST" NOT AVAILABLE, "STEERING ASSIST FAULT SERVICE REQUIRED", AND "SERVICE ADVANCETRAC". STEERING WHEEL FELT LIKE IT WAS STILL LOCKED... TURNS OUT IT WAS JUST EXTREMELY DIFFICULT TO TURN. I'M 6'3" 200+ LBS. IF IT'S DIFFICULT FOR ME TO TURN, IT WOULD BE IMPOSSIBLE FOR MOST PEOPLE. IF THIS HAD FAILED WHILE THE CAR WAS IN MOTION, SOMEONE COULD HAVE BEEN SERIOUSLY INJURED OR WORSE. FORD HAD THIS SAME PROBLEM ON 2011-2012 FUSIONS AND ISSUED A RECALL AND NOW IT'S STILL HAPPENING ON 2015 MODELS. THIS NEEDS TO BE RECALLED IMMEDIATELY AS FORD NEVER REALLY FIXED THE PROBLEM. EXCERPT FROM 2011-2012 FUSION RECALL: FORD IS ISSUING A SAFETY RECALL FOR APPROXIMATELY 423,000 VEHICLES (ACTUAL 422,814) INCLUDING CERTAIN 2011-2013 FORD TAURUS AND FLEX VEHICLES, LINCOLN MKS AND MKT VEHICLES, FOR CERTAIN 2011-2012 FORD FUSION AND LINCOLN MKZ VEHICLES, AND FOR CERTAIN 2011 MERCURY MILAN VEHICLES IN NORTH AMERICA FOR A POTENTIAL INTERMITTENT ELECTRICAL CONNECTION IN THE STEERING GEAR THAT MIGHT RESULT IN THE LOSS OF ELECTRIC POWER STEERING ASSIST WHILE DRIVING. IF THIS HAPPENS, THE STEERING SYSTEM DEFAULTS TO MANUAL STEERING MODE, MAKING THE VEHICLE MORE DIFFICULT TO STEER, ESPECIALLY AT LOWER SPEEDS. THIS COULD RESULT IN THE INCREASED RISK OF A CRASH.
I BOUGHT MY CAR IN OCTOBER OF 2015 (IT WAS PRE-OWNED) AFTER A COUPLE OF MONTHS I STARTED NOTICING THAT THE CAR UNEXPECTEDLY TURNS OFF WITH A MESSAGE SAYING, "TRANSMISSION NOT IN PARK" ON THE DASHBOARD SO I IMMEDIATELY TURN OFF THE CAR AND START IT BACK UP AND EVERYTHING WORKS FINE FOR A MONTH THAN THIS HAPPENS AGAIN. I CALL FORD CUSTOMER CARE MULTIPLE TIMES AND THEY TELL ME TO TAKE THE CAR TO THE DEALERSHIP AND HAVE THEM DO A DIAGNOSIS OF THE CAR, THEY DO, AND SAY "WE CAN'T FIND ANYTHING WRONG", IN THE FOLLOWING MONTH THE CAR SHUTS OFF WITH THE SAME MESSAGE POPPING UP ON THE DASHBOARD. I DO THE SAME PROCESS AND BEFORE. I EVEN CALL CUSTOMER CARE AGAIN AND THEY TELL ME THE SAME THING, SO I TAKE IT BACK TO THE DEALERSHIP AND THEY ALSO TELL ME THE SAME EXACT THING. THE THIRD TIME IT DOES IT AGAIN I CALL CUSTOMER CARE AND THEY STILL TELL ME THE SAME THING, BUT THIS TIME I REFUSED TO TAKE IT TO THE DEALERSHIP. NOW, I DRIVE FOR UBER AND I HAD A PASSENGER WITH ME AT THE TIME THAT HAPPENED. I WAS UNABLE TO STOP THE CAR BECAUSE THE BREAKS SEEMED TO BE LOCKED. AT THIS POINT I WAS DRIVING NOW A HILL.

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER AND REPAIRED. THE FAILURE RECURRED AND THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN BACK TO THE DEALER. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE VIN WAS UNKNOWN. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 21,900.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2015 FORD FUSION. WHILE DRIVING DOWN AN INCLINE AT 55 MPH, THE BRAKE PEDAL WAS DEPRESSED, BUT FAILED TO RESPOND WITHOUT WARNING. PRIOR TO THE FAILURE, AN UNKNOWN SOUND EMITTED FROM THE VEHICLE WHEN THE BRAKE PEDAL WAS DEPRESSED. THE CONTACT'S VEHICLE WAS STOPPED AFTER IT CRASHED INTO A GUARDRAIL. THE AIR BAGS FAILED TO DEPLOY. A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED. THE CONTACT SUSTAINED BRUISES TO THE HEAD AND WHIPLASH. THE DRIVER SUSTAINED BRUISES TO THE LEFT SHOULDER. BOTH OCCUPANTS REQUIRED MEDICAL ATTENTION. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO THE DEALER WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE BOOSTER BRAKE SYSTEM FAILED AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 4,765.
I HAVE THE STEERING ISSUES FROM DEFECTIVE EPS PROGRAMMING THAT CAUSES PULLING TO EITHER SIDE. THE WIPERS DON'T WORK PROPERLY. THE SEATS ARE HARD AND POSITIONED WRONG. THE VEHICLE IS TOO LOW. THE REAR MAKES A HELICOPTER NOISE IF I OPEN THE WINDOW WHILE DRIVING. THE TRANS VIBRATES THE CAR IN ECO BUT ALSO SHIFTS VERY HARD IN SPORT. THE VEHICLE SHUT OFF WHILE DRIVING MORE THAN ONCE. THE LIST OF PROBLEMS GO ON AND ON.
DRIVING ON MOST ANY ROAD ABOVE 30 MPH THE STEERING PULLS LEFT OR RIGHT UNPREDICTABLY. STEERING AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS THROUGH A LONG CURVE THE STEERING PULLS HARD CAUSING DIFFICULTY IN MAINTAINING DESIRED DIRECTION. THE SYMPTOMS I EXPERIENCE ARE WELL DOCUMENTED IN CLASS ACTION SUIT: CASE5:14-CV-02989-HRL. THE EPAS SYSTEM COUPLED WITH PDC (PULL DRIFT COMPENSATION) CAUSES THE STEERING EFFORT TO BE UNPREDICTABLE. ULTIMATELY THE CAR IS DIFFICULT TO HANDLE AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS.
THE PASSENGER SEAT AIR BAG SENSOR TURNS OFF, EVEN WHEN THERE IS A PASSENGER PRESENT IF THE SEAT IS HIGH OR IF THE SEAT IS FORWARD. IT HAPPENS WHEN WHEN THE CAR IS BEING DRIVEN UPHILL, DOWNHILL, FLAT ROAD AND STATIONARY.
ALERT TONES EMITTED BY THE REVERSE SENSING SYSTEM AND CROSS-TRAFFIC ALERT SYSTEM ARE SO LOW THEY ARE NEARLY INAUDIBLE WITH THE RADIO OFF AND THEY ARE INAUDIBLE WITH THE RADIO ON.

ONCE BEFORE AND ONCE AFTER THE RECALL. THERE WAS NOT CHANGE THE FIRST TIME AND AFTER THE SECOND TIME THE PROBLEM WAS REDUCED IN SEVERITY AND FREQUENCY BUT CONTINUES TO HAPPEN. MY SERVICE DEPARTMENT IS WILLING TO LOOK AT IT AGAIN, BUT SAYS THERE IS NOTHING TO DO THAT THEY HAVE NOT ALREADY DONE. THE UNEXPECTED BRAKING NOT ONLY IS A SURPRISE TO THE DRIVER, BUT IT ALSO MAY CAUSE VEHICLES FOLLOWING TO REACT INAPPROPRIATELY. THIS DANGER IS EXAGGERATED BECAUSE IT FREQUENTLY HAPPENS ON THE INTERSTATE WHILE PASSING LARGE TRUCKS.

WHEN MY PETITE WIFE SITS IN THE PASSENGER SEAT THE AIRBAG REMAINS OFF. SHE IS 5'1, APPROXIMATELY 100LBS. THE DEALER STATED THE CAR WAS DESIGNED THAT WAY AND DID NOT WANT TO LOOK INTO THE ISSUE. WE HAD THE SAME PROBLEM WITH OUR 2010 SUBARU LEGACY, THOUGH I NEVER REPORTED IT. IS THIS CORRECT? ARE THE FRONT PASSENGER AIRBAGS FOR THIS CAR DESIGNED AND TESTED NOT TO GO OFF FOR SOMEONE HER SIZE?
THERE IS A DEFECT IN THE WIPER AND/OR WINDSHIELD DESIGN - IT IS EXTREMELY HARD TO SEE WHEN IT IS RAINING, EVEN JUST MODERATELY RAINING, AND EVEN WITH THE WIPER SPEED ON HIGH. I CAN'T TELL IF THE WIPERS ARE TOO SLOW, IF THE ANGLE OF THE WINDSHIELD PROMOTES WATER RETENTION, OR IF THE PROBLEM IS WITH THE WIPER MECHANISM DESIGN (INSTEAD OF GOING THE SAME DIRECTION, THE WIPERS START IN THE MIDDLE AND GO SEPARATE DIRECTIONS TO THE OUTSIDE EDGE). FURTHERMORE, EVERY TIME THE WIPERS MAKE A PASS THERE APPEARS TO BE A FILM ON THE GLASS THAT TAKES A FEW SECONDS TO CLEAR ' IT LOOKS SPLOTCHY, AND ISN'T AFFECTED BY TEMP/DEFROST AT ALL. AT NIGHT WHEN PASSING ANOTHER CAR OR UNDER STREET LIGHTS THIS MAKES A TERRIBLE GLARE, AND OF COURSE THE FASTER YOUR WIPERS ARE GOING, THE MORE "FILM" THERE WILL BE BECAUSE THERE'S NO TIME FOR IT TO CLEAR BETWEEN PASSES. I BOUGHT THIS CAR WITH 16 MILES ON IT AND NOTICED IT THE VERY FIRST TIME I HAD TO DRIVE IN THE RAIN (I'M NOW AT 7500 MILES). BETWEEN THE INADEQUATE PREVENTION OF WATER ACCUMULATION AND THE STRANGE FILM, THIS CAR IS VERY DANGEROUS TO DRIVE IN THE RAIN, ESPECIALLY AT NIGHT. BEYOND THIS, I HAVE NOTICED FOR QUITE A WHILE THAT THE EXHAUST/MUFFLER MAKES A LOUD VIBRATION NOISE, AND AT TIMES THE TRANSMISSION SHIFTS VERY HARD WHEN APPLYING BRAKES (DOWNSHIFT) OR WHEN FIRST ACCELERATING.
FROM THE BEGINNING I HAVE VIBRATION IN THE STEERING WHEEL AT VARIOUS SPEEDS SOME AT 40 MPH AND FROM 70-75 MPH. AT MY LAST SERVICE THEY DID REBALANCE THE TIRES WHICH HELPED SLIGHTLY BUT NOT TOTALLY.

(STORY OF MY LIFE) FROM BEING IN THE BREAK POSITION TO ENGAGING(PUT FOOT ON GAS PEDAL) TO GO THE VEHICLE WOULDN'T MOVE FORWARD. I PUT THE CAR IN PARK AND BACK INTO DRIVE AND IT STILL WOULDN'T ENGAGE, THEN THE EMERGENCY BRAKE INDICATOR CAME ON AND ALSO COLLISION LIGHT CAME ON. I TRIED THE GAS AGAIN TO MOVE FORWARD AND THE CAR STUTTERED. I PUT THE CAR BACK INTO PARK AND SHUT DOWN THE CAR, I DID THIS 3 TIMES UNTIL ALL THE WARNING LIGHTS WENT OFF. MY GOAL WAS TO GET MY CAR OUT OF THE MIDDLE LANE IN HORRIFIC TRAFFIC. THE CAR FINALLY MOVED FORWARD, IT THEN HAPPENED AGAIN 5 MINUTES LATER, WHEN I WAS TURNING ONTO A STREET. I SHUT THE CAR OFF, THIS TIME IT WAS 2 X. THIS HAPPENED ON SATURDAY AND ON MONDAY MORNING I CALLED FORD TO BRING IN MY VEHICLE. THAT SAME DAY FORD SERVICE SAID THEY CAN NOT FIND A PROBLEM, I TOLD THEM TO KEEP IT THERE AND GAVE PERMISSION FOR THEM TO DRIVE IT MORE TO SEE IF IT HAPPENS. AT THIS TIME I AM IN FEAR OF DRIVING THAT VEHICLE, I DRIVE A LOT OF MILES IN ALL SITUATIONS, AND I DO NOT TRUST THE CAR AT THIS TIME. I AM STILL WAITING TO HEAR BACK FROM SERVICE.....
I RENTED A FORD FUSION IN PITTSBURG FOR 10 DAYS. IT HAD ELECTRIC SEATS THAT WERE VERY DIFFICULT TO POSITION TO A COMFORTABLE POSITION. I AM 62 YEARS OLD AND HAVE TRAVELLED EXTENSIVELY FOR THE LAST 8 YEARS, SO I AM USED TO RENTALS AND AIR TRAVEL RISKS. FROM THE 2ND DAY IN THE FUSIONS, I WAS FEELING A PAIN IN MY RIGHT LEG ( CALF). WHEN I RETURNED HOME IN NH 10 DAYS LATER, I WENT TO SEE MY DOCTOR WHO SENT ME FOR AN ULTRASOUND WHICH FOUND THE INCIDENCE OF THE DVT. I AM UNDER TREATMENT NOW AND AM OK, BUT AM CONCERNED THAT THE ERGONOMICS OF SOME VEHICLES MAY BE CONTRIBUTORY TO CERTAIN ILLNESS FOR HUMANS. WANTED TO REPORT SO THE INCIDENCE OF DVT TO SPECIFIC MODELS WITH ELECTRICS SEATS COULD BE TRACKED DOWN AND INCLUDED IN FUTURE SAFETY RECOMMENDATIONS. I SEARCHED THE LITERATURE AND INTERNET AND DID NOT FIND ANY MENTION OF AN ASSOCIATION OF DVT WITH FUSIONS, BUT IT CONCEIVABLY COULD BE RELATED TO ANY ELECTRIC SEAT MANUFACTURER.

THIS TIME I WAS DRIVING ON THE STREET DOING ABOUT 40MPH AND I GO THE SAME MESSAGE LIGHT(TRANSMISSION NOT IN PARK) AND THE CAR CUT OFF. AGAIN, I PUT THE CAR IN PARK AND RESTARTED IT. I IMMEDIATELY TOOK THE CAR TO A FORD DEALER WHERE IT IS NOT BEING CHECKED OUT. I DID GO ONLINE AND FOUND A PREVIOUS RECALL (14V736000; 14C11) FOR A SIMILAR BUT NOT EXACTLY THE SAME PROBLEM WITH THIS TYPE OF VEHICLE.
THE VEHICLE IS A HYBRID PLUS. IT HAS A CHARGE PORT. THE VEHICLE WILL NOT ACCEPT A CHARGE AND CHECK ENGINE LIGHT IS ON. THE ENTIRE WIRING HARNESS FROM FRONT TO BACK HAS TO BE REPLACED. THIS JOB REQUIRES COMPLETE REMOVAL OF THE ENTIRE INTERIOR. ALSO FORD HAS NOT BEEN IN CONTACT WITH THE DEALER OR MYSELF IN 5 DAYS REGARDING THIS ISSUE. THIS IS THE 3RD TIME IT HAD BEEN IN THE SHOP - FIRST FOR A FAULTY DASH AND SECOND FOR A BAD AC COMPRESSOR. - VEHICLE HAS 1600 MILES ON IT.
MY 2015 FORD FUSION WAS PARKED OUTSIDE IN OUR COMPANY'S PARKING LOT IN THE MORNING AND UPON RETURNING TO THE CAR IN THE AFTERNOON (TEMP WAS IN THE 90'S) THERE WAS A CRACK ACROSS THE SUNROOF FROM LEFT TO RIGHT. ALTHOUGH THE SUNROOF DID NOT EXPLODE WHILE DRIVING AND NO ONE TOUCHED THE CAR WHILE IT WAS PARKED, THIS SHOULD BE INVESTIGATED AS A WIDESPREAD DEFECT IN THE MANUFACTURING OF THE GLASS USED IN FORD'S SUNROOFS AS IT POSES A SAFETY HAZARD IF SOMETHING LIKE THIS HAPPENS WHILE DRIVING OR IF IT SHATTERS, SHOWERING THE DRIVER WITH GLASS.
UPON RETURNING FROM A LONG TRIP AND APPROXIMATELY 3 MILES FROM HOME, THE STEERING WHEEL OF THE CAR BEGAN TO VIBRATE HEAVILY AND AS I TURNED A CORNER, THE DASHBOARD LIT UP LIKE A CHRISTMAS TREE AND I LOST MY POWER STEERING. THE INFO ON THE DASHBOARD INFORMED ME THE VEHICLE HAD LOST THE POWER STEERING AND TRACTION CONTROL AND I WAS TO SEEK SERVICE IMMEDIATELY. BY DRIVING SLOWLY, I WAS ABLE TO MAKE IT HOME STEERING MANUALLY. THE DEALER WAS NOTIFIED IMMEDIATELY AND THEY ARRANGED TO TOW THE CAR TO THE DEALERSHIP. TWO DAYS LATER I WAS CONTACTED BY THE DEALERSHIP AND INFORMED THE STEERING GEAR HAD FAILED AND WOULD NEED TO BE REPLACED. BECAUSE OF THE SERIOUS NATURE OF THIS DEFECT AND THE FACT THAT I HAD JUST PURCHASED THE CAR NEW ON 6/15/15, I REQUESTED A REPLACEMENT VEHICLE BUT WAS TOLD FORD WOULD NOT DO THAT. I CONTACTED FORD CORP. AND MY CASE WAS TURNED OVER TO THE REGIONAL MGR. OF THIS AREA AND HE ALSO INFORMED ME THAT THE CAR WOULD NOT BE BOUGHT BACK BUT WOULD BE REPAIRED UNDER WARRANTY. AS COMPENSATION MY NEW CAR WARRANTY WAS EXTENDED TO 5 YEARS. I SHUDDER TO THINK WHAT MIGHT HAVE HAPPENED TO MY WIFE AND MYSELF HAD THIS STEERING FAILURE HAD HAPPENED AT THE HIGHWAY SPEEDS WE HAD JUST BEEN TRAVELING AND AM NOW NERVOUS ABOUT THE OVERALL QUALITY OF THIS VEHICLE. I FEEL THE PUBLIC SHOULD BE MADE AWARE OF THE POTENTIAL OF THIS DANGEROUS, SERIOUS DEFECT IN THE FORD FUSION.
TRAVELING WEST ON I-696 BEFORE THE SCOTIA RD., OAK PARK, MI OVERPASS AT 8:50PM. MOSTLY SUNNY WEATHER AT ABOUT 80 DEGREES FAHRENHEIT. THE HIGHWAY JUST STARTED TO CURVE TO THE LEFT. THE LANE-KEEPING ASSIST JERKED THE WHEEL HARD TO THE LEFT WHEN THE VEHICLE WAS FULLY STILL IN THE CENTER LANE. THIS CAUSED AN OVER-CORRECTION BY MYSELF, THE DRIVER, TO THE RIGHT NEARLY SIDE SWIPING THE CAR NEXT TO ME. CONTACT WAS AVOIDED BUT THE ASSIST MODE NEARLY CAUSED AN ACCIDENT AT HIGH SPEEDS WITH HEAVY TRAFFIC IN THE AREA. THE ASSIST MODE HAS SINCE BEEN DISABLED AND ALERT MODE ONLY IS ON.
