I WAS PULLING OUT ACROSS TWO LANES OF TRAFFIC ON A FLAT CITY STREET GOING APPROXIMATELY 15 MPH, AND AS I WAS HOLDING THE WHEEL, MAINTAINING MY DRIVE LINE, THE STEERING DROPPED OUT AND I WAS ROTATING THE WHEEL LEFT AND RIGHT DESPERATE FOR THE STEERING WHEEL TO GRAB CONTROL AGAIN. IT FINALLY REGAINED SOME CONTROL BUT THE STEERING IS NOT CONSISTENT, IT DOESNT SEEM LIKE, ITS IN CONSTANT CONTROL OF THE VEHICLE, ALMOST LIKE ITS SHORTING OUT.
MY TRUNK KEPT POPPING OPEN ONCE IN A WHILE. I FINALLY LEFT MY KEY FOB A LONG WAY FROM THE VEHICLE AND IT STILL POPPED OPEN. I EAT MY LUNCH IN MY CAR AT WORK AND I WAS SITTING THERE AND ALL OF THE SUDDEN THE TRUNK POPPED OPEN BY ITSELF AND THEN I HEARD THE DOOR LOCKS CLICK OPEN. SO I DECIDED WHEN I FINISHED MY LUNCH TO LOCK IT UP AND PUT MY KEYS BACK IN MY OFFICE. LATER I WALKED OUT BECAUSE SOMEONE TOLD ME MY TRUNK WAS OPEN. NOT ONLY WAS MY TRUNK WIDE OPEN BUT MY DOOR WAS UNLOCKED. I WAS HOME ONE DAY AND WE HAD TEMPERATURES IN THE 80'S THAT DAY AND THE CAR WAS WIGGING OUT. THE KEY PAD ON THE SIDE WAS LIGHTING UP AND FADING OUT AND THE TRUNK WAS CLICKING LIKE CRAZY (IT WAS ALREADY IN THE OPEN POSITION) AND I KEPT HEARING THE DOORS UNLOCKING CONSTANTLY. THIS MUST'VE HAPPEND ALL NIGHT LONG BECAUSE MY BATTERY WAS DEAD IN THE MORNING. I MADE AN APPOINTMENT AT PENSKE FORD IN LA MESA, CA. I BROUGHT IT IN AND HE SAID HE NEVER HEARD OF THE PROBLEM. BUT ONLINE THERE ARE QUITE OF FEW PEOPLE THAT HAVE THIS ISSUE. HE ASKED ME ABOUT MY BATTERY BECAUSE I TOLD HIM IT KILLED IT AND I HAD TO CHARGE IT. HE LOOKED AND IT WAS OVER 5 YEARS OLD. SO, I REPLACED THE BATTERY. SO, MY WIFE TOLD ME IT WAS WIDE OPEN AGAIN THIS MORNING AT 5:30 AM. NOW I HAVE TO BRING IT BACK TO FORD. IWITH SO MANY PEOPLE HAVING THE SAME ISSUE. CAN'T SOMEONE MAKE THEM DO A RECALL ON THIS? WHY SHOULD WE HAVE TO PAY OUT OF OUR POCKETS FOR THEIR INABILITY TO BUILD A QUALITY VEHICLE? NOW I HAVE TO DROP IT OFF THERE AND THEY SAID THAT THEY HAVE TO WAIT FOR THE ISSUE TO HAPPEN SO THEY CAN SEE FOR THEMSELVES. I'M OFFICIALLY CARLESS UNTIL THEY FIGURE IT OUT. NOTHING LIKE SPENDING OVER $22,000 ON A CAR THAT I CAN'T USE. OH.. ALSO IT HAPPENS WHILE I'M DRIVING SO THE TRUNK POPS OPEN AND BLOCKS MY ENTIRE REAR VIEW MIRROR.
I WAS INFORMED I HAVE A RECALL ON THE STEERING BOLTS ON MY 2016 FORD FUSION. I ASKED THE DEALERSHIP SEVERAL TIMES TO FIX THE RECALL. I PURCHASED THE VEHICLE AT FORD VIST, OXNARD, CALIFORNIA. I HAVE PURCHASED A NEW VEHICLE FROM THEM SINCE. THEY HAVE TOLD ME THAT I DO NOT NEED TO DO THE RECALL. I AM WORRIED ABOUT THE SAFETY OF MY FAMILY AND I.
I WAS DRIVING DOWN THE HIGHWAY AND THE FRONT AIRBAG MALFUNCTION LIGHT CAME ON. IT WAS RAINY AND ROADS WERE WET WHEN IT CAME ON.
THE TRANSMISSION UPSHIFTS VERY HARD. SO HARD IT THROWS DRIVER AND PASSENGER(S) BACKWARDS.THIS IS MOST PRONOUNCED AT SPEEDS LESS THAN 30 MPH WHEN IT SHIFTS FROM 2ND TO 3RD. PERIODICALLY, IT ALSO SHIFTS VERY HARD FROM 5TH TO 6TH AT CONSTANT SPEEDS BETWEEN 45 AND 55. THIS PRESENTS A SAFETY CONCERN AS IT IS HARD AND ABRUPT CAUSING A STARTLING SCARE AND A REACTION THAT CAN CAUSE A MOMENTARY LOSS OF STEERING CONTROL.
GETTING A CHECK ENGINE LIGHT - THE READING IS MISFIRE ON CYLINDER 1. AFTER OUR MECHANIC HAS TRIED OVER AND OVER TO FIND WHERE THE LEAK IS COMING FROM. HE SPOKE TO A MECHANIC THAT WORKS FOR FORD. HE WAS TOLD THAT IT IS A KNOWN FAULT IN THAT ENGINE THAT THE COOLANT LEAKS INTO THE ENGINE AND WILL EVENTUALLY CAUSE THE ENGINE TO LOCK UP - CRACK THE BLOCK. FORD HAS NOT DONE A RECALL FOR THIS ITEM EVEN THOUGH I AM ABLE TO FIND NUMERORUS COMPLAINTS OF THE SAME PROBLEM. MY CAR IS NOT UNDER WARRANTY AND I OWE TOO MUCH TO JUST TRADE THE CAR IN TO BECOME SOMEONE ELSE'S PROBLEM. SO KNOW I HAVE OUR MECHANIC LOOKING FOR AN ENGINE AND HAVE TO JUST HOPE AND PRAY THAT THIS ENGINE THAT WE FIND DOESN'T HAVE THE SAME ISSUE. WISH I COULD UNDERSTAND WHY THERE HAS NOT BEEN A RECALL FOR THIS ISSUE IF IT IS A KNOWN PROBLEM.
MY CAR WON'T DRIVE FORWARD OR BACKWARDS I HAD TO TURN IT OFF AND ON AGAIN JUST TO MOVE A LITTLE UNTIL I MADE IT TO MY LOCATION
AS I WAS DRIVING THE WRENCH SYMBOL CAME ON (SEE MANUAL), THEN ABS, TRACTION CONTROL, ENGINE FLUID TEMP, NO DIRECTIONALS, NO HEAT OR DIRECTIONALS, NO DASH LIGHTS, LOW TIRE PRESSURE, AND HILL ASSIST LIGHTS ALL CAME ON AND OFF. I WAS DOING HIGHWAY SPEEDS. WHILE THIS IS A NEW TO ME CAR I HAVE ALWAYS HAD FORDS INCLUDING AN EXCURSION AND MORE RECENTLY AN 07 FOCUS THAT DIED AT 300,000. I NEVER HAD ANY ISSUES WITH THEM ALBEIT THEY WERE BOTH NEW. I AM TOTALLY DISAPPOINTED IN THIS VEHICLE AND IT REALLY HAS ME THINKING ABOUT NEVER BUYING A FORD AGAIN.
WHILE IN MOTION THE ABS LIGHT, TRACTION ON/OFF, AND HILL ASSIST IS NOT AVAILABLE IS LIT UP. ALSO, THE SPEEDOMETER IS SPORADIC. HAVEN'T HAD ANY WORK DONE RECENTLY SO THAT ISN'T THE CAUSE.
The engine block failed, cracking, causing coolant to leak into the number 3 cylinder. Causing a misfire code. I could hear what sounded like water flowing behind the dash for awhile. Eventually noticed I was a little low on coolant, then ended up using a whole gallon of coolant in about a week. The dipstick also had coolant on it when I checked the oil level. The car has been at the shop since January 23rd, 2021, they tested the head and it was fine. When I noticed it was a serious issue, coolant was blowing out the tail pipes in white clouds. I have a short video of this happening.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2016 FORD FUSION. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE ATTEMPTING TO REVERSE OUT OF THE GARAGE THE VEHICLE FAILED TO FAILED TO SHIFT INTO REVERSE. THE CONTACT ATTEMPTED TO SHIFT BACK INTO PARK HOWEVER, THE VEHICLE FAILED TO SHIFT INTO PARK. THE VEHICLE WAS TURNED OFF AND RESTARTED HOWEVER, THE FAILURE PERSISTED. THE PARKING BRAKES WAS ACTIVATED AND THE GEAR SHIFTER WAS MANUALLY SHIFTED FROM REVERSE TO PARK. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT TAKEN TO BE DIAGNOSED NOR REPAIRED. A DEALER WAS NOT CONTACTED. THE CONTACT REFERENCED NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 18V471000 (POWER TRAIN) AS A POSSIBLE SOLUTION TO THE FAILURE HOWEVER, THE VIN WAS NOT INCLUDED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE AND INFORMED THE CONTACT THAT THE VIN WAS NOT UNDER RECALL. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 143,000. *BF
I WAS DRIVING AND THE STEERING BECAME STIFF AND VERY DIFFICULT TO TURN NEXT MORNING I STARTED THE VEHICLE AND COULD NOT TURN STEERING AT ALL ! POWER STEERING ASSIST FAULT !
TRUNK POPS OPEN RANDOMLY WHILE DRIVING OR PARKED SEVERAL TIMES A DAY. WHEN I SHUT IT, I CAN HEAR IT CLICKING SOMETIMES & IT POPS BACK OPEN BY ITSELF. OTHER TIMES, IT'S SILENT AND I THINK IT'S OK AND IT POPS BACK OPEN AGAIN. THE FOB IS NOT ON ME WHEN THIS HAPPENS, I'M NOT TOUCHING THE VEHICLE AT ALL. IT HAS STARTED SINCE WINTER BEGAN. PLEASE LOOK INTO THIS, I FOUND YEARS WORTH OF CONSUMER COMPLAINTS JUST DOING A SIMPLE ONLINE SEARCH TO HELP ME FIGURE THIS OUT. OBVIOUS MANUFACTURERS FLAW.
A FEW WEEKS AFTER HAVING RECEALLS PERFORMED FOR THE STEERING AND AIRBAG ISSUES, I WAS DRIVING ON THE FREEWAY AND GOT A WARNING LIGHT(ATTACHED) THAT SAID "STEERING FAULT SERVICE NOW". THE STEERING BACAME SLIGHTLY STICKY BUT STILL DRIVABLE. AFTER REACBING MY DESTINATION AND RESTARTING MY CAR, I THEN RECEIVED THE SAME FAULT LIGHT AS WELL AS TRACTION CONTROL, AND AIRBAG LIGHTS. I HAVE HAD ZERO ISSUES WITH THIS VEHICLE AS LONG AS I'VE OWNED IT PRIOR TO IT BEING AT THE DEALER FOR THE RECALLS. THE STEERING WAS NOW ALMOSY INOPPERABLE AND REQUIRED ALOT OF STRENGTH TO MAKE ANY TURN LEFT OR RIGHT. WHILE LUCKILY THE STEERING GOT VERY BAD ON SIDE STREETS, THIS COULD HAVE RESULTED IN SOME SERIOUS INJURY OR PROBLEMS IF IT HAPPENED ON THE HIGHWAY I FEEL. THIS VEHICLE IS JUST ONLY 4 YEARS OLD AND I HAVE A HARD TIME BELIEVING THAT THE STEERING MECHANISM SHOULD BE FAULTY ALREADY. I UNFORTUNATELY DO NOT HAVE WARRANTY ON THIS PART OF THE VEHICLE SO I AM NOW LEFT WITH A $2500 BILL TO REPAIR A SEALED RACK AND PINION ASSEMBLY THAT DOESN'T (TO MY KNOWLEDGE) REQUIRE ANY MAINTENACE. HOPEFULLY THERE ARE ENOUGH OF THIS ISSUES TO WARRANT AN INVESTIGATION AND POSSIBLE RECALL. THANK YOU,
THE BUSHING THAT ATTACHES THE TRANSMISSION SHIFTER CABLE TO THE TRANSMISSION DEGRADE AND CAUSE THE BUSHING TO DETACH FROM THE TRANSMISSION. IT LET ME MOVE THE SHIFT LEVER TO PARK AND REMOVE THE IGNITION KEY, WHILE THE TRANSMISSION MAY NOT BE IN PARK, WITH NO WARNING MESSAGE OR AUDIBLE CHIME. I ALMOST COULD NOT STOP THE CAR AND RAN INTO A BUILDING. THERE IS ALREADY A KNOWN RECALL FOR THIS VEHICLE BUT MY VIN IS NOT INCLUDED.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2016 FORD FUSION. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE POWER STEERING FAILED WHILE DRIVING. THE POWER STEERING ASSIST, THE ADVANCE TRAC, AND HILL ASSIST WARNING LIGHTS ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO BERGEY'S FORD (700 N BETHLEHEM PIKE, AMBLER, PA 19002) AND WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE TORQUE SENSOR AND THE STEERING RACK NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. AN ALIGNMENT WAS ALSO RECOMMENDED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE BUT OFFERED NO ASSISTANCE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 37,000. *LN*JB
RADIATOR FLUID IS LEAKING INTO CYLINDERS. CAR OVERHEATS IF YOU DONT KEEP REFILLING COOLANT.
When I put my car in reverse, the image displayed for the backup camera is inverted. Ex. If a car is on my right side, it will display that it is on the left side on the screen. It has been doing this for over a year and only seems to work maybe 1/50 trips, in particular when it is extremely cold. Newer fords have been recalled for this error as it is a major safety hazard when reversing.
CAR IS LOSING COOLANT. I SEE THERE HAVE BEEN OTHER FORDS HAVE BEEN RECALLED FOR A COOLANT LEAK / POOR CIRCULATION BUT MY CAR IS NOT ON THAT LIST. WE CAN'T FIGURE OUT WHERE IT IS LOSING COOLANT OR WHY IT KEEPS SHOWING IT IS OVERHEATING. IN IDLE IS SHOWS IT IS OVERHEATING WHEN YOU ARE START MOVING THE TEMP GOES DOWN. CHECKED COOLANT AND IT WAS LOW. ADDED COOLANT THEN THERE WAS WHITE SMOKE COMING FROM THE ENGINE. SMOKE STOPPED BUT THE NEXT DAY IT SHOWED IT WAS OVERHEATING AGAIN WHEN IN IDLE STATE. TOOK BACK TO THE MECHANIC. THEY CAN'T FIND WHERE IT IS LOSING COOLANT BUT SHOWS IT IS LOSING COOLANT. I SEE THERE HAVE BEEN OTHER RECALLS FOR THIS ON THE SAME MODEL AS MINE AND OTHER FORD MODELS AS WELL. MY VIN DOESN'T SHOW IT IS RECALLED FOR THIS ITEM. WANT TO GET FIXED BEFORE I HAVE TO BUY A NEW ENGINE DUE TO HEAD GASKET ISSUE FOR A CAR I HAVE ONLY OWNED FOR A YEAR AND HALF.
MY CAR SEAT UNDERCARRIAGE IS DISATTACHED. I TOOK MY CAR IN TO A NEARBY FORD DEALERSHIP AND WAS TOLD MY VIN NUMBER WAS NOT ASSOCIATED WITH THE RECALLS. ALTHOUGH MY CAR'S VIN DID NOT HAVE A RECALL, I AM HAVING THE SAME ISSUES AS EVERYONE ELSE THAT HAD A RECALL. I WAS UNABLE TO ADJUST MY CAR SEAT FOR SUITABLE DRIVING AND THEREFORE ENDED UP HAVING AN ACCIDENT. I TRIED TO REACH OUT TO SEVERAL COMPANIES IN REFERENCE TO MY SEAT ISSUE. NO ONE COULD HELP ME BC MY VIN NUMBER DIDN'T MATCH. I HAVE BEEN TRYING TO GET ASSISTANCE WITH THIS ISSUE SINCE 6/2020 BUT WAS TURNED AWAY AT PLATIMUM FORD IN TERRELL TX. PLEASE HAVE SOMEONE TO CONTACT ME AS SOON AS POSSIBLE I HAD A WRECK 12/28/20 MY AIRBAG DID NOT DEPLOY UNTIL AFTER THE CRASH. THE FORCE OF THE AIR BAG BROKE MY HUSBANDS ARM, I AM NOT PLEASED WITH FORDS RECALL PROCEDURES BECAUSE ALL DEFECTS THAT HAPPENED TO MY CAR PRIOR TO MY WRECK WERE BEING OVERLOOKED BECAUSE MY VIN NUMBER DID NOT MATCH THE RECALLS LIST. I FEEL LIKE JUST BECAUSE A CAR WAS NOT MANUFACTURED IN A CERTAIN AREA AND IN A CERTAIN PERIOD OF TIME SHOULD ALL BE ACCEPTED IF A FLAW ALIKE WHAT'S NOTIFIED.
HAD TO HAVE THE ENGINE REPLACED FOR 2500$. ENGINE STARTED LEAKING COOLANT LAST YEAR. TRIED TO SEAL WITH HEAD GASKET LEAK FIX. AFTER OVER HEATING SEVERAL TIMES THROUGHOUT THE YEAR, ENGINE FAILED. THIS SHOULD BE A RECALL.
COOLANT IS ENTERING CYLINDERS - KNOWN ISSUE IN THE 1.5 ECOBOOST MOTORS AS THERE ARE RECALLS IN THE 2017 AND 2018 VEHICLES. FORD WILL NOT REBUILD MOTOR MUST BE REPLACED AT A COST OF $5K. VEHICLE IS 4 YEARS OLD AND JUST VER 100K MILES. NO EXCUSE FOR NEEDING A MOTOR AND ALSO FORD IS DOING NOTHING TO HELP THE CUSTOMER. SAFETY ISSUE IS MINE LOST POWER GOING UP A HILL AND STOPPED ME IN THE MIDDLE OF THE ROAD, THEN APPEARED FINE ONCE RESTARTED. NOW MISSES AND DOES NOT RUN HARDLY AT ALL.
SEVERAL WEEKS AGO I WAS DRIVING MY CAR AND I NOTICED I DIDNT HAVE ANY HEAT AND MY COOLANT TEMP HIGH LIGHT CAME ON. SO WHEN I CHECKED THE COOLANT I DIDNT HAVE ANY AT ALL. NONE OF MY HOSES WERE LEAKING FROM ANYWHERE. I ADDED COOLANT TO IT AND DIDNT THINK NOTHING OF IT. TODAY ON MY WAY TO WORK THE SAME THING HAPPENED. MY COOLANT TEMP HIGH LIGHT CAME ON AND WHEN I PULLED OVER I DIDNT HAVE ANY COOLANT WHATSOEVER. THE COOLANT HAS GOT TO BE GOING SOMEWHERE IN THE ENGINE BECAUSE THERE IS NO SIGNS OF IT LEAKING FROM THE RADIATOR OR ANY OF ITS HOSES.
THE CAR READS AS A 4TH CYLINDER MISFIRE BUT IT'S NOT. THE COIL HAS BEEN REPLACED TWICE AND THE SPARK PLUGS HAVE BEEN REPLACED TWICE ALSO. WENT BACK TO FORD AFTER SPENDING ALL THIS MONEY TO TELL ME THERE IS A LEAK GOING INTO MY ENGINE FORM MY COOLANT. NOW I HAVE TO GET A NEW WHOLE ENGINE AND I ONLY HAVE THE CAR FOR ABOUT 3-4 YEARS. THIS IS ABOUT A $5,000-$6,000 FIX. AFTER RESEARCHING, THIS SHOULD BE A RECALL DUE TO THE AMOUNT OF SIMILAR CASES THERE HAS BEEN. WHEN DRIVING, THE LIGHT WOULD COME ON AND OFF WHEN IT WANTS AND IT SOMETIMES WOULD BOLT FORWARD THIS IS DUE TO THE LEAK TO THE ENGINE. I'VE HAD TO HAD IT TOWED ONCE BECAUSE IT WAS STARTING TO GIVE UP. THIS IS WHEN I TOOK IT TO FORD TO MISDIAGNOSE ME THAT IT WAS THE SPARK PLUGS WHEN IT WAS NOT. THIS IS UNSAFE TO DRIVE AND AN OUTRAGEOUS PRICE TO PAY.
MY ENGINE IS MISFIRING ON THE SECOND CYLINDER DUE TO A CRACK IN THE ENGINE THAT'S CAUSING COOLANT TO LEAK INTO THE CYLINDER BECAUSE OF THE MATERIAL THAT THE ENGINE BLOCK WAS MADE.
I WAS DRIVING AND HAVE YET TO HEAR BACK FROM SOMEONE. IT IS VERY DANGEROUS TO DRIVE MY VEHICLE. AFTER READING OTHERS CONCERNS THIS HAPPENS TO FUSIONS A LOT MORE THAN USUAL. I WAS DRIVING AND SOMETIMES WOULD SMOKE WHILE JOLTING FORWARD. THIS IS VERY CONCERNING BECAUSE I DRIVE WITH KIDS IN THE CAR AND THIS IS UNACCEPTABLE THAT THIS KEEPS REOCCURRING. IT READS A MISFIRE BUT I HAVE REPLACED THE COIL TWICE AND THE SPARK PLUGS TWICE. THAT IS NOT THE CASE THE COOLANT GOES INTO THE ENGINE CAUSING THE PROBLEMS AND IS VERY DANGEROUS FOR THE KIDS AND MYSELF.
WHILE I WAS PARKED, I PUT MY CAR IN THE DRIVE POSITION, THE CAR WENT IN REVERSE.

THE CONTACT CONTACTED AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHO WENT TO THE VEHICLE LOCATION AND INFORMED THE CONTACT THE BUSHING FRACTURED FROM THE TRANSMISSION SHIFT CABLE. THE MECHANIC WAS ABLE TO CONNECT THE PART FOR A SHORT PERIOD OF TIME. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE INDEPENDENT MECHANIC AND TO RISER HARNESS FORD (2000 E. RACE AVE, SEARCY, AR 72143, (501) 268-2486) AND THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THE VIN WAS NOT UNDER RECALL. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS UNKNOWN. THE VIN WAS NOT INCLUDED.
STEERING WHEEL IS LOCKED AND NO POWER STEERING. I THINK IT'S DUE TO RECALLS ON FORD FUSIONS. MY CAR DOESN'T HAVE ONE BUT I THINK IT SHOULD. THE RECALL IS THE ELECTRIC POWER ASSIST SYSTEM. MY CAR IS ONLY FOUR YEARS OLD I SHOULDN'T HAVE THIS PROBLEM. THE CAR WAS PARKED WHEN THIS HAPPENED BUT WHAT IF WE WERE ON THE HIGHWAY.
PARKED MY CAR AT WORK. PUT MY CAR IN PARK BUT IT STAYS IN REVERSE, WILL NOT MOVE WITH PRESSER ON THE BRAKE,LETS ME TURN IF OFF BUT NOW I CANT TURN IT BACK ON OR SHIFT. HAS TO HAVE EMERGENCY BREAK ON TO NOT ROLL. THERE IS A RECALL BUT WAS TOLD MY VIN NUMBER DOES NOT HAVE THIS RECALL.
CANISTER PURGE VALVE MALFUNCTION. CAR STALLED COMPLETELY AND WOULD NOT START BACK UP. THANKFULLY THIS HAPPENED WHEN I WAS DRIVING SLOW IN A PARKING LOT AND NOT ON THE BUSY FREEWAY. ANOTHER TIME IT HAPPENED AT THE GAS STATION WHEN TRYING TO RE-START MY CAR AFTER PUTTING FUEL IN. WE RAN DIAGNOSTICS ON IT AND IT FACE THE ERROR OF THE CANISTER PURGE VALVE MALFUNCTION.
BLOWN ENGINE DUE TO BLOWN HEAD GASKET AT 83,000 MILES
MY VEHICLE WOULD NOT SHIFT INTO DRIVE (FORD FUSION 2016 2L 5SPEED AUTOMATIC). IT SHUDDERED AND CRAWLED FORWARD BUT THE TRANSMISSION WOULD NOT ENGAGE. I BRAKED TO A STOP PUT IT PARK AND THE CAR WAS STILL SHUDDERING. I TURNED IGNITION OFF AND ATTEMPTED TO RESTART ENGINE AND ENGAGE FROM PARK TO DRIVE. IT DID NOT SHIFT TO DRIVE BUT SHUDDERED. I HAD TO REPEAT THIS PROCESS 4-5 TIMES AND THEN IT FINALLY MOVED FROM PARK TO DRIVE AND DROVE SOMEWHAT NORMAL 1 DAY PRIOR THE CAR WAS JERKY AS IT ENGAGED. THIS JERKY BEHAVIOR OF THE TRANSMISSION AT LOW SPEEDS I WAS EXPERIENCING YESTERDAY RETURNED . THE CAR BECAME DRIVEABLE BUT NOW A I AM VERY SUPSECT AND I CANNOT FIND A RECALL FOR THIS ISSUE THAT MATCHES MY VIN NUMBER. EVENTHOUGH MANY FORD FUSIONS MADE DURING THE SAME YEAR AS MINE HAVE EXPERIENCED THIS ISSUE
NO POWER STEERING ASSIST, THIS IS 3RD TIME THIS HAS HAPPENED. PREVIOUS REPAIRS HAVE BEEN TO WIRE CONNECTIONS. THIS TIME WE WERE INFORMED MODULE IS NOT COMMUNICATING. COST OF REPAIR ESTIMATED AT $2,100.00. SHOP INFORMED ME THAT DEALER SAYS THERE ARE OVER 900 MODULES ON BACKORDER. OBVIOUSLY THERE IS A PROBLEM. THE CAR WAS BEING DRIVEN WHEN THIS OCCURED. STEERING ABSOLUTELY VERY DIFFICULT. FEEL FORTUNATE THAT DIDN'T HAVE TO MAKE ANY EVASIVE MANUVERS TO AVOID AN ACCIDENT. VERY UNSAFE.
PURGE FUEL VALVE. CAR IS STALLING AT TIMES. OTHER TIMES IT WON'T START. THIS HAS BEEN A RECALL IN THE PAST BUT NOT SHOWING ON MY VIN. SOMETIMES IT IS MAKING A NOISE.
WITH NO WARNING I STARTED MY CAR AND WENT TO PUT IT IN DRIVE AND THE SHIFTER WOULD MOVE BUT NOT GO INTO GEAR. IT FELT LIKE THE SHIFTER WAS NOT ATTACHED TO ANYTHING. LUCKILY THE CAR WAS STUCK IN PARK, IF THIS WOULD HAVE HAPPENED WHILE DRIVING IT COULD OF RESULTED IN AN ACCIDENT OR WORSE INJURIES. I WAS TOLD THERE WAS A RECALL FOR THIS, CHECKED MY VIN AND IT DID NOT SHOW IT AS AN ACTIVE RECALL. I CONTACTED MY LOCAL FORD DEALERSHIP AND THEY DID EXACTLY WHAT I DID AND RUN THE VIN NUMBER TELLING ME MY CAR WAS NOT PART OF THE ORIGINAL RECALL. I DON'T UNDERSTAND WHY ONE CAR IS PART OF A RECALL BUT ANOTHER IS NOT. I HAD TO PAY FOR MY CAR TO BE TOWED AND NOW REPAIRED DUE TO FAULTY PARTS BY FORD!
INTERNAL TRANSMISSION PROBLEMS AFTER PURCHASE AND DRIVING 2016 FORD FUSION FOR 7 MONTHS. VEHICLE HAD BEEN STATIONARY FOR HOURS AS I WAS LEAVING HOME FOR WORK. AFTER STARTING THE CAR AND PUTTING GEAR SHIFT INTO REVERSE THERE WAS A HARD JERKING OF THE ENGINE. THE CAR REVERSED VERY SLOWLY OUT OF THE DRIVEWAY. AS I SHIFTED INTO DRIVE GEAR ENGINE JERKED REALLY HARD ONCE AGAIN AND CAR BEGAN TO HESITATE ACCELERATION. CAR SLOWLY ACCELERATED BUT WOULD NOT DRIVE OVER 30 MPH
THE ENGINE HAS CRACKED AFTER NOT EVEN 100,000 MILES. NOW I HAVE TO REPLACE IT FOR 8000. RIDICULOUS AND DANGER WITH THE FUMES THAT FORM FROM LEAKING THROUGHOUT THE ENGINE. ALL I DID WAS DRIVE IT TO WORK !!! FORD KNOWS IT AN ISSUE TOO!! DO THEY THINK WE DON'T DESERVE OUR MONIES WORTH OR TO BE SAFE!
THE CAR SHUTS OFF WHILE DRIVING UNDER THE SPEED OF 20 MPH. IT HAS HAPPENED 6 TIMES IN THE LAST 2 MONTHS. THE WORSE PART WAS IT HAPPENED ON THE INTERSTATE IN THE RAIN AND I HAD TO PULL OVER QUICKLY ON TO THE RAMP WHILE AN 18 WHEELER WAS COMING MY WAY.

I WAS DRIVING MY CAR ON THE STREET GOING 45 MPH AND MY CAR STEERING LOCKED UP AND WARNING LIGHT CAME ON SAYING STEERING ASSIST FAULT . THEN ANOTHER HILL ASSIST FAULT LIGHT CAME ON . I HAD TO COME TO A STOP ON THE ROAD AND TURN OFF MY CAR AND LET IT SIT FOR A FEW MINS AND RESTART IT AND EVERYTHING WENT BACK TO NORMAL.
THERE IS A COOLANT LEAK IN CYLINDER 2. OF MY 2L ECOBOOST REQUIRING A COMPLETE LONG BLOCK REPLACEMENT. THIS CAN CAUSE THE CAR TO OVERHEAT AND/OR RUN UNRELIABLY. I HAVE HAD TO PULL OVER ON THE SIDE OF A BUSY HIGHWAY TO ADD COOLANT. THIS WILL NO DOUBT LEAVE ME STRANDED ONE DAY SOON, AS THIS IS A KNOWN PROBLEM FOR MANY OF FORD'S ECOBOOST ENGINES YET THEY HAVE NOT RECALLED THESE FAULTY ENGINES. AND I CAN NOT AFFORD AN $8,000 REPAIR THERE IS A FORD TECHNICAL SERVICE BULLETIN 19-2346 DATE OF ISSUE DECEMBER19 2019

THE VEHICLE WAS NOT TAKEN TO A DEALER AND WAS NOT YET REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 77,500.
WHILE IN DRIVE THE TRANSMISSION STARTED MAKING WEIRD NOISES, AND ALL OF THE SUDDEN THE GEAR SHIFTING SOUNDED OFF. THIS ALL HAPPENED ON THE INTERSTATE AT ABOUT 70MPH. AFTER PARKING THE CAR AND TRYING TO PUT IT INTO REVERSE OR DRIVE THE TRANSMISSION WAS FAILING, THE SHIFTER SLID INTO ANY POSITION. THE TRANSMISSION HAS TO BE REPLACED OR REBUILT, IT'S OVER 3K TO REPAIR.
POWER STEERING SUDDENLY FAILED
THE VEHICLE WAS STATIONARY IN MY GARAGE. I WAS ATTEMPTING TO LEAVE FOR WORK AND THE VEHICLE WOULDN'T START. I CHECKED THE FLUIDS AND CHECKED BATTERY CABLE AND FINALLY THE VEHICLE STARTED WITH HESITATION. WARNING LIGHTS 'STERRING ASIST FAULT' 'LOW BATTERY FEATURE' AN 'SERVICE ADVANCE TRAC' APPEARED. COULD NOT TURNED THE STERRING WHEEL AT ALL TO BACK OUT OF GARAGE. BATTERY IS 1YEAR OLD SHOULD NOT BE LOW.

THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE AND TRANSFERRED THE CONTACT TO NHTSA TO FILE A COMPLAINT. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 128,000.
