WHENEVER IT RAINS MY 05' MUSTANG CV ACCUMULATES ABOUT AN INCH OF WATER ON THE PASSENGER SIDE AND IT TAKES FOREVER TO DRY OUT. THE CV TOP IS BRAND NEW AND DOES NOT LEAK AS FAR AS I CAN TELL. I'VE SEEN OTHER PEOPLE COMPLAIN ABOUT THIS ON A FEW DIFFERENT BLOGS ONLINE. WHAT'S THE DEAL? *TR
IN LOW TEMPERATURES, BELOW FREEZING, THE PARKING BRAKE WILL FREEZE. THE CABLE HAS BEEN REPLACED BY THE DEALERSHIP 2X UNDER WARRANTY, YET THE PROBLEM REMAINS UNFIXED. *TR
PARKING BRAKE FREEZES IN TEMPERATURES BELOW 30 DEGREES. I HAVE HAD THE EMERGENCY BRAKE CABLES REPLACED IN 2006, BUT THE FAILURE IS OCCURRING IN THE WINTER OF 2007/2008. *TR
THE INSTRUMENT PANEL IN MY 05 MUSTANG HAS COMPLETELY FAILED. IN 2008, THE GAUGES WOULD BECOME ERRATIC AT TIMES. (TACH, SPEEDOMETER, ETC) THIS HAS BECOME MORE PROBLEMATIC OVER THE LAST COUPLE OF YEARS USUALLY ONLY OCCURRING IN COLDER WEATHER. AT THIS POINT, THE GAUGES HAVE COMPLETELY FAILED. CASE IN POINT: DURING THE SUMMER OF 2011 THE CAR "ACTUALLY" OVERHEATED DUE TO A CRACKED THERMOSTAT HOUSING AND THE GAUGE NEVER DISPLAYED THE ISSUE BEFORE THE FAILURE. WE WERE FORTUNATE TO HAVE PICKED UP ON THE ISSUE (WHILE DRIVING THE CAR AT HIGHWAY SPEED) BEFORE A FIRE OR OTHER UNFORTUNATE EVENT OCCURRED.... OR BEFORE THE CAR WAS PERMANENTLY DAMAGED. WHEN I'VE CONSULTED WITH THE LOCAL FORD DEALER SHIP, (COOKEVILLE, TN) THEY ACT AS IF THIS THE INSTRUMENT PANEL FAILURE IS SOMETHING NEW. THIS ISSUE IS POSTED ON EVERY MAJOR MUSTANG FORUM OR SUPPORT SITE. HECK, THERE ARE EVEN BUSINESSES ON THE "WEB" THAT ADVERTISE THEIR ABILITY TO REPLACE THE "STEPPER MOTORS" THAT CONTROL THE GAUGE FUNCTIONS. APPARENTLY THE STEPPER MOTORS THAT FORD OPTED TO USE IN THEIR INSTRUMENT PANELS ARE THE CAUSE OF THE ISSUE. FURTHERMORE I RECEIVE CUSTOMER COMPLAINT UPDATES VIA THE CARFAX WEB PORTAL MONTHLY. EACH UPDATE CONTAINS DOZENS OF NEW REPORTS WITH THIS PROBLEM. SO.....THE EXCUSE THAT FORD DOESN'T KNOW ANYTHING ABOUT THIS ISSUE..... DOESN'T HOLD WATER. IF FORD WANTS TO OFFSHORE ITS COMPONENTS TO 3RD WORLD COUNTRIES FOR CHEAPER LABOR AND PARTS..... FINE. THE LEAST THEY COULD DO IS STAND BEHIND THEIR PRODUCTS WHEN / IF THEY FAIL. AFTER ALL, THEY SHOULD HAVE EXTRA $$$ IN THE COFFERS FROM THE SAVINGS OF OFFSHORING THEIR COMPONENTS. ANY HELP YOU FELLAS COULD PROVIDE IN PRESSURING FORD TO STEP UP AND TAKE CARE OF THEIR PROBLEM WOULD BE GREATLY APPRECIATED. *KB
I HAVE ALSO HAD PROBLEMS WITH MY PARKING BRAKE FREEZING ON MY 2005 FORD MUSTANG GT LAST WINTER. I TOOK IT INTO THE SHOP AFTER IT THAWED 3-7-07 - THEY SAID NO DAMAGE WAS DONE, BUT THEY WERE OUT OF PARTS. I TOOK IT IN LATER AND THEY SAID THEY COULD NOT WARRANTY IT UNLESS THEY SAW THE PROBLEM. NOW A YEAR LATER IT IS STUCK IN MY DRIVEWAY AGAIN - I AM MISSING WORK BECAUSE OF IT. WHY HAS THERE NOT BEEN A RECALL YET???? IT IS BAD ENGINEERING, AND BAD CUSTOMER SERVICE. SPEEDOMETER STICKS IN MY 2005 FORD MUSTANG. IT SEEMS TO DO THIS WHEN IT IS COLD OUT. IT DOES THIS ALL THE TIME. I BOUGHT THE VEHICLE USED. *TR
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2005 FORD MUSTANG GT. THE EMERGENCY BRAKE CABLE SLIDES OFF AND CAUSES THE BRAKES NOT TO RELEASE. AS A RESULT, THE REAR BRAKES BEGAN TO SMOKE. THE DEALER AND MANUFACTURER HAVE NOT YET BEEN NOTIFIED. THE VEHICLE HAS NOT BEEN REPAIRED. THE FAILURE OCCURRED TWICE; THE FIRST TIME SHE HAD TO APPLY THE CLUTCH AND THE VEHICLE SPUN VIOLENTLY. THE FAILURE AND CURRENT MILEAGES WERE 37,000. UPDATED 02-25-08 *BF UPDATED
THE SPEEDO WENT FIRST THEN ALL THE OTHER GAUGES STARTED GIVING FALSE ON NO READING AT ALL. I AM USING A GPS FOR A SPEEDO OTHERS IN THIS SMALL TOWN SAY THEY ARE HAVING THE SAME PROBLEMS WITH THERE 2005 MUSTANGS.I TOOK IT BACK TO THE DEALER THEY SAID THEY KNEW OF NO RECALLS OR PROBLEMS. *TR
A VALVE KEEPER INEXPLICABLY FAILED ON MY 2005 FORD MUSTANG WITH ONLY 41,000 MILES ON IT CAUSING THE #4 CYLINDER VALVE TO GO INTO THE CYLINDER AND DAMAGE THE PISTON AND CYLINDER. END RESULT NEED A WHOLE NEW ENGINE. *TR
THE PARKING BRAKE FREEZES WHEN I USE MY EBRAKE AND I CAN'T DRIVE TILL THE ICE IN THE BOOT IS MELTED. IT WEARS MY BRAKES AND HAPPENS ANYTIME I USE IT. *TR
ALL OF MY GAUGES STARTED TO READ IMPROPERLY OR NOT AT ALL, SPEEDOMETER, OIL PRESSURE, GAS, BATTERY, COOLANT TEMP, RPM. THEY DIDN'T ALL GO AT THE SAME TIME AND THE PROBLEM MOVES AROUND BUT THERE IS ALWAYS AT LEAST 2 OR 3 GAUGES SHOWING INACCURATE DATA. IT HAS GOTTEN PROGRESSIVELY WORSE. NOT KNOWING HOW FAST I AM GOING IS A MAJOR SAFETY HAZARD! I AM APPALLED THAT THIS VERY PREVALENT PROBLEM HAS NOT ALREADY HAD A RECALL ISSUED. *TR
NONE OF THE GAUGES WORK. I HAVE TO DRIVE PACING MYSELF WITH OTHER VEHICLES. ONLY THE ICON FOR GAS NEEDED COMES ON WHEN THE GAS IS LOW. STARTING AFTER ABOUT 10,000 MILES ON THE CAR I HAVE HAD INCREASING PROBLEMS GETTING FUEL IN THE CAR. NOT JUST MYSELF, BUT ANYONE THAT TRIES TO FUEL THE CAR. I INITIALLY STARTED HOLDING THE FUEL NOZZLE UPSIDE DOWN TO GET GAS AND THAT WORKED FOR A FEW YEARS. (ALTHOUGH YOU LOOK LIKE A DUMB ASS THAT DOESN'T KNOW HOW TO PUT GAS IN A CAR!) THIS LAST YEAR IT HAS GOTTEN SO BAD THAT I AM LUCKY TO GET 2 GALLONS IN IT, AND THAT IS WITH IT REPEATEDLY SHUTTING OFF. SINCE DAY ONE THE RIGHT FRONT WHEEL MAKES A GRINDING/CLUNKING NOISE WHEN I TURN THE TIRE IN EITHER DIRECTION. IT MAKES ME FEEL LIKE THE WHEEL WILL FALL OFF. MY CARS BODY ASSEMBLY IS ALSO CRAP. THE FRONT LOWER GRILL HAS POPPED OFF AND DISAPPEARED. I HAVE SEEN SEVERAL, AT LEAST 10 OTHER MUSTANGS OF THIS YEAR MISSING THE SAME PART. THE PLASTIC, YES PLASTIC!, SCREWS POP OUT. THE PLACES WHERE THE INSIDE SEAMS OF THE CAR ARE SUPPOSED TO CONNECT ARE DETACHED. THE LIGHT ENCLOSURE IN THE TRUNK WILL NOT STAY ATTACHED. THE SEAT HANDLES FALL OFF. I ONLY HAVE 50,000 MILES ON THIS CAR. REPAIR SHOPS TELL ME TO WAIT FOR A RECALL, WHEN IS THAT GOING TO HAPPEN? *TR
WHILE DRIVING IN LIGHT RAIN, I EXPERIENCED A TOTAL FAILURE OF MY ELECTRICAL SYSTEM, INCLUDING HEADLIGHTS, DOOR LOCKS, INTERIOR LIGHTS, RADIO, TRUNK RELEASE, ETC. AT THAT POINT, ALL WARNING INDICATORS LIT UP ON DASH. I PULLED OVER, PUT THE CAR IN "PARK" ONLY TO DISCOVER THAT, WHILE THE ELECTRICAL ISSUES CONTINUED, I COULDN'T GET THE CAR OUT OF "PARK". AFTER ~ 10 MINUTES THE ELECTRIC SYSTEMS CAME BACK ONLINE, BUT THE "CHECK ENGINE" LIGHT REMAINED ON. AFTER TAKING THE CAR TO THE DEALERSHIP, I WAS TOLD THE PROBLEM WAS A WATER LEAK. THERE ARE NUMEROUS POSTS ABOUT THIS ISSUE ONLINE, BUT THE DEALERSHIP CLAIMED TO HAVE NEVER HEARD OF IT BEFORE AND REFUSED TO FIX IT FREE OF CHARGE, DESPITE THE FACT THAT IT'S A MANUFACTURER'S DEFECT. THIS COULD CAUSE A SERIOUS PROBLEM IF THE PROBLEM OCCURS WHILE DRIVING AT NIGHT, WHEN LOSS OF HEADLIGHTS COULD HAVE CATASTROPHIC CONSEQUENCES. *TR
IN DECEMBER THE TEMP. GOT DOWN TO 17 DEGREES, BECAUSE OF THE COLD WEATHER MY EMERGENCY BRAKE LOCKED MY BACK WHEELS UP. I TOOK IT INTO THE FORD COMPANY AND THEY UNLOCKED THEM. I WAS TOLD THAT THEY HAD FROZE AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED OR NOT TO USE EMERGENCY BRAKE UNTIL IT WARMED BACK UP. *TR
MY 2005 FORD MUSTANG PARKING BRAKE CABLE HAS LOCKED UP EACH OF THE LAST TWO WINTERS. I HAVE READ SEVERAL SIMILAR INCIDENTS. THE 2ND TIME MY DEALER SUGGESTED I NOT USE THE PARKING BRAKE IN WINTER. WHY HAS FORD NOT RECALLED AND REDESIGNED THIS PART? *TR

FUEL TANK AND INLET TUBE FAILS TO FILL PROPERLY. GASOLINE SPLASH BACK ON TO MOTORIST AT FILLING STATION. TRIED TO PUT CONVERTIBLE TOP DOWN, CATASTROPHIC FAILURE OF CONVERTIBLE TOP FRAME AND HARDWARE. NO FOREWARNING. *TR
2005 MUSTANG CONVERTIBLE TOP FAILURE. NO PRIOR WARNING OF FAILURE. I TOOK IT THE THE FORD DEALER IN LUGOF, SC (JAMES ERVIN FORD) TO SEEK REPAIR. DEALER SAID THEY DID NOT REPAIR FAILED CONVERTIBLE TOPS, I SHOULD TAKE IT TO A BODY SHOP. I EXPLAINED THAT THE TOP HAD FAILED AFTER JUST 42.000 MILES ON THE CAR AND THAT FORD HAD ISSUED 2 TSB. THEY DID NOT INVESTIGATE THE TSB AND REFUSED REPAIR. *TR
I HAVE A 2005 FORD MUSTANG WITH AUTOMATIC WINDOWS AND THE WINDOWS KEEP GOING DOWN BY THEMSELVES. THE WILL NOT STAY UP UNLESS THE CAR IS RUNNING. WHEN THE CAR IF OFF THEY ROLL DOWN AND WHEN YOU THEM UP AS SOON AS YOU OPEN THE DOOR THEY ROLL BACK DOWN. *TR
THE GAS TANK IS VERY HARD TO FILL IF THE TANK IS OVER 1/4 TANK. IT DOESN'T MATTER WHAT GAS STATION YOU USE OR HOW THE HANDLE IS POSITIONED. THE AUTOMATIC FUEL SHUTOFF FEATURE OF THE GAS HANDLE WILL SHUT OFF AS IF THERE WERE BACK PRESSURE. *TR
I WAS DRIVING AT NIGHT AT AROUND 30MPH WHEN EVERYTHING ELECTRICAL WENT DEAD IN MY CAR INCLUDING HEADLIGHTS AND DASHBOARD BUT THE ENGINE WAS STILL RUNNING. I WAS ABLE TO DRIVE THE CAR HOME BUT COULD NOT START IT THE NEXT MORNING. HAD TO FLAT BED IT TO THE DEALERSHIP WHERE THEY TOLD ME THE WHOLE COMPUTER SYSTEM FAILED AND HAD TO BE REPLACED. THIS HAPPENED 3 MORE TIME SINCE THEN. EACH TIME I WAS CHARGED $3000 TO HAVE IT REPLACED. IT SHOULDN'T HAPPEN ONCE LET ALONE 3 TIMES. ANOTHER RECENT PROBLEM, MY ENGINE CAUGHT FIRE CAUSING EVERYTHING ON THE LEFT SIDE OF MY CAR TO BE REPLACED. FORD DENIED ANY "REAL PROBLEMS THEY COULD FIND". ALSO HAD MY GAS TANK REPLACED TWICE BECAUSE IT WOULDN'T FILL UP. AND TO ADD TO EVERYTHING, MY GEARSHIFT NEEDS TO BE REPLACED BECAUSE A LITTLE PLASTIC PIECE THAT HIDES THE HOLES WHEN U SHIFT UP OR DOWN, BROKE. $600 ESTIMATE AT FORD. AS WELL AS MY ENGINE SMOKING AFTER DRIVING FOR 2 HOURS AT 65-70 MPH. DO NOT BUY A FORD. IV'E SPENT OVER $12K FIXING THE PROBLEMS THAT I NEVER CAUSED. FORD REFUSED TO PAY A DIME OR TAKE ANY RESPONSIBILITY. TOO MANY PROBLEMS CAUSING UNSAFE SITUATIONS FOR ME AS WELL AS OTHER DRIVERS AND PEDESTRIANS AROUND ME. *TR ## VIN FAILED ##
FILLING FUEL TANK - IN RESPONSE TO ALL THOSE CONSUMERS HAVING PROBLEMS FILLING THEIR 2005 FORD MUSTANG GAS TANKS, HERE IS A METHOD YOU CAN TRY WHICH WORKS FOR ME EVERYTIME. TURN THE GAS PUMP/HOSE NOZZLE IN AN UPSIDE DOWN POSITION WITHIN YOUR TANK AND IT SHOULD FILL WITHOUT SHUTTING OFF! *TR
AUTO ACCIDENT @35 MPH FRONTAL CRASH AND AIR BAGS DID NOT DEPLOY IN '05 FORD MUSTANG. *JB
OVER THE WINTER MY FORD 2005 MUSTANG V6 HAD AN ISSUE. THE EMERGENCY BRAKE WOULD FREEZE UP. YOU WOULD NOT BEAGLE TO MOVE THE CAR, UNTIL THE THING D-ICED. NOW MONTHS LATER, DUE TO THIS ISSUE HAPPENING IN THE WINTER, FINALLY THE E BRAKE GOT STUCK IN A POSITION WHERE THE CAR COULD DRIVE, BUT THE BRAKE PADS AND ROTORS WERE TORE UP IN THE PROCESS. THE DEALER IS GOING TO CHARGE ME $700 DOLLARS TO HAVE ALL THIS FIXED (NEW REAR BRAKES AND TO FIX THE CABLE) FORD PUT OUT AN INTERNAL MEMO ABOUT THIS ISSUE, WHY IS THERE NO RECALL ON IT. IF YOU SEARCH THE INTERNET THERE ARE MANY OTHERS WHO HAVE THIS ISSUE. *TR
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2005 FORD MUSTANG GT. WHILE DRIVING 35 MPH, THE CONTACT'S VEHICLE WAS STRUCK ON THE FRONT DRIVER SIDE DOOR. THE AIR BAG DEPLOYED AND BROKE HER WRIST IN EIGHT PLACES. THE SKIN WAS BURNED OFF OF HER OTHER ARM. SEVEN PINS AND RODS HAD TO BE INSERTED IN HER WRIST, BUT IT STILL CANNOT BE MOVED. THE VEHICLE WAS DESTROYED AND A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED. THE CONTACT HAS PICTURES. ON FEBRUARY 27, 2008, SHE SAW A NEWSCAST STATING THAT THERE WOULD SOON BE A SAFETY RECALL ON THE HARSH DEPLOYMENT OF THE AIR BAG AND THE FAILURE TO COMPLY WITH FMVSS. THE POWERTRAIN, ENGINE SIZE, AND VIN WERE UNKNOWN. THE CURRENT AND FAILURE MILEAGES WERE 31,000.
WHEN STOPPED SUDDENLY THE CAR WILL REMAIN IDLE FOR ABOUT 30 SECONDS BEFORE IT WILL KICK BACK INTO GEAR. WHEN THIS HAPPENS, CAR WILL ROLL BACKWARDS IN DRIVE. IF YOU TRY TO PRESS THE GAS TO FORCE THE CAR TO MOVE IT WILL STALL COMPLETELY. CAR HAS BEEN DOING IT SINCE 2007. FORD DEALERSHIP COULD NOT FIND ANYTHING WRONG WITH IT. CAR CURRENTLY HAS 44,000 MILES ON IT. ALSO GAS, TEMP AND SPEEDOMETER GAUGES HAVE STARTED GOING CRAZY THE LAST THREE WEEKS. *TR
HIGHWAY CRASH AT 75 MPH. THE MUSTANG HIT A VEHICLE THAT JUMPED THE MEDIAN . NO AIRBAG DEPLOYMENT . I NEVER HAD A WARNING LIGHT OR ANY INDICATION THAT THE SRS SYSTEM WAS AT FAULT . THIS MUSTANG HAD A FULL FRONTAL IMPACT . I DID CONTACT FORD ABOUT THIS ISSUE AND I WAS TOLD { YOU CAN'T AFFORD TO LITIGATE A CASE AGAINST US } I WOULD HAVE TO PROVE THAT IF THE AIRBAGS DID DEPLOY MY INJURY'S WOULD OF BEEN LESS SERIOUS . I DID BRAKE MY NECK FROM THE IMPACT .I'M SURE THE AIRBAG WOULD HAVE HELPED ME...
PASSENGER AIR BAG LIGHT COMES ON SAYING "PASSENGER AIR BAG OFF" WITH SOMEONE SITTING IN THE PASSENGER SEAT. HAVE TAKEN IT TO THE DEALER 3 TIMES THEY SAY THERE IS NO CODE COMING UP THERE IS NOTHING THEY CAN DO TO FIX IT. VEHICLE HAS ALSO HAD TO BE TOWED IN TWICE FOR A DEAD CELL IN THE BATTERY AND THE BATTERY REPLACED. *TR
2005 FORD MUSTANG GT PURCHASED DECEMBER OF 2004. IT HAS LEAKED CONTINUALLY ON THE PASSENGER SIDE EVERY TIME IT RAINS. THE GEM MODULE HAS BEEN SOAKED EVERY TIME. TAIL LIGHTS MALFUNCTION AND I NO LONGER HAVE WINDSHIELD WIPERS THAT WORK, SO I CANNOT DRIVE IN THE RAIN. THE CARPET HAS BEEN REPLACED BY MY INSURANCE COMPANY BUT FORD REFUSES TO DO ANYTHING ABOUT THESE LEAKS AND THE DAMAGE DONE TO THE ELECTRICAL SYSTEM. *TR
ON 7 MARCH 2007, WHILE DRIVING DOWN THE HIGHWAY AT SPEED LIMIT OF 55, MY 2005 FORD MUSTANG ACCELERATED TO OVER 100 MPH. THE GAS PEDAL WAS ALL THE WAY TO THE FLOOR. I HAD TO PUT THE VEHICLE IN NEUTRAL AND FIND A PLACE TO PULL OVER. I HELD MY FOOT ON THE BRAKE TO TRY TO SLOW DOWN, BUT THIS ONLY CAUSED THE VEHICLE TO FISHTAIL. I FINALLY MADE IT TO A GRAVEL DRIVEWAY AND PUT IT IN PARK, BUT THE ACCELERATOR STAYED ON THE FLOOR CAUSING MY TIRE TO SPIN THROWING GRAVEL AND THEN THEY BEGAN TO SMOKE. I KILLED THE ENGINE AND HAD TO CALL ROADSIDE ASSISTANCE TO BE TOWED TO THE LOCAL DEALER. ACCELERATOR NEVER LIFTED BACK TO NORMAL POSITION. CAR IS CURRENTLY BEING CHECKED AT THE FORD DEALERSHIP. *JB
I WAS DRIVING ABOUT 55MPH AND HEARD A BEEP, LOOKED IN THE DASH AND SAW THE ENGINE WENT INTO A "FAIL SAFE MODE". THE CAR SLOWED DOWN AND JERKED AND SLOWED DOWN QUITE A BIT. WENT TO THE DEALERSHIP AND COULD'NT FIND ANYTHING WRONG W/ IT. IT STARTED HAPPENING MORE OFTEN, SO FINALLY FOUND A MECHANIC THAT WAS ABLE TO DIAGNOSE AND FIX THE PROBLEM FOR $800. I SAW IN THE PAPER THAT A FEW TOYOTAS HAD THIS PROBLEM AND WANTED TO LET YOU KNOW IT HAPPENED ON A NEW FORD MUSTANG AS WELL. ALSO, WHENEVER IT RAINS, (THE SAME CAR) LEAKS WATER INTO AND PUDDLES UP UNDER THE PASSENGER'S SEAT. THIS HAS BEEN A PROBLEM FROM THE BEGINNING OF PURCHASE. I DON'T DRIVE THIS CAR IN THE RAIN BECAUSE OF THIS. I HAVE TALKED TO OTHER MUSTANG OWNERS AT THE OIL CHANGE FACILITY, AND THEY SAID THEY HAVE THE SAME PROBLEM. I REALLY DON'T UNDERSTAND WHY THERE HAS NOT BEEN A COULPE OF RECALLS ON THE 2005 MUSTANG GT. I WAITED A LONG TIME TO GET MY DREAM CAR AND PAID A LOT OF MONEY FOR IT. I HAVE A 2005 MUSTANG. IT HAD FUEL FILLING PROBLEMS SINCE I GOT IT. THE PUMP WOULD CLICK OFF CONTINUOUSLY MAKING IT VIRTUALLY IMPOSSIBLE TO FILL. AT TIMES, IT WOULD EVEN ALLOW THE GASOLINE TO SPEW OUT OF THE VEHICLE. I TOOK THE VEHICLE TO THE SERVICE DEPARTMENT AND THEY ALREADY HAD A BULLETIN FROM FORD INDICATING THE PROBLEM AND THAT THE TANK SHOULD BE REPLACED. RECENTLY, I HAVE BEEN HAVING THE SAME PROBLEM AGAIN WITH THE NEW FUEL TANK. I DON'T FILL UP THAT OFTEN, BECAUSE I WORK FROM HOME AND RARELY DRIVE THE CAR. AGAIN, DIFFICULT TO FILL AND FUEL SPEWING OUT OF THE CAR ONTO THE SIDE OF THE VEHICLE AND THE GROUND. I KNOW FROM READING ONLINE THAT HUNDREDS IF NOT THOUSANDS OF OTHER MUSTANGS ARE HAVING THE SAME ISSUES. I TOOK IT BACK TO THE SERVICE DEPARTMENT AND THIS TIME THEY DECIDED THAT THEY WERE NOT GOING TO FIX IT. ACCORDING TO THE SERVICE TICKET IT IS A NORMAL CHARACTERISTIC OF THAT VEHICLE TO SPEW FUEL OUT OF THE SIDE OF THE CAR WHEN YOU ARE ATTEMPTING TO FILL IT UP. YES, I HAVE THE TICKET IF YOU WOULD LIKE A COPY OF IT. THE DATE I PROVIDE ON THIS FORM WILL BE FOR THE MOST RECENT INCIDENT. IF YOUR ARE NOT FAMILIAR IF CAR, IT COULD GO UNNOTICED, CAUSING OVERHEATING OF THE REAR BRAKES AND POSSIBLE WHEEL BEARINGS FAILURE. HAS NOT BEEN REPAIRED AS OF 2/6/07. 1ST TIME IT HAPPENED I WAS GOING ABOUT 45 MPH AND AS I WAS ACCELERATING TO PASS, THE CAR JUST KEPT ACCELERATING BY IT SELF, I THEN BEGAN TO TAP THE GAS PEDAL WITH MY FOOT AND AS I GOT CLOSER TO THE VEHICLE IN FRONT OF ME I HAD TO BRAKE AND PUT THE VEHICLE IN NEUTRAL,WHILE IN NEUTRAL THE VEHICLE IDLE RETURNED TO NORMAL. WHILE I HOLDING THE BRAKE DOWN THE REAR WHEELS BEGAN TO SPIN, I WAS THEN ABLE TO PUT THE VEHICLE INTO NEUTRAL AND TURN IT OFF. WHEN RESTARTED IT WAS BACK TO NORMAL. I THEN TOOK IT TO A FORD DEALER THE NEXT DAY, THEY HOWEVER WERE UNABLE TO DUPLICATE THE PROBLEM DURING THE TWO DAYS THEY HAD IT, THUS NO REPAIRS WERE DONE , I WAS TOLD TO COME BACK IF IT HAPPENS AGAIN, I WAS ALSO TOLD BY THE DEALER THAT THEY CONTACTED FORD AND THAT THEY HAD NO OTHER COMPLAINTS LIKE THIS. I THEN CONTACTED FORD MOTOR CO. AND WAS TOLD THERE WAS NOTHING THAT THEY CAN DO, AND WHEN ASKED IF THEY COULD REPLACE ANY PARTS THAT COULD CAUSE THIS PROBLEM DUE TO THE EXTREME DANGER OF THIS PROBLEM THEY REFUSED. CANNOT FILL FUEL TANK. THE PUMP SHUTS OFF VERY QUICKLY AFTER ATTEMPTING TO FILL. FORD HAS SAID THAT IT IS A FLOW PROBLEM ON THE FUEL PUMPS. THEIR SOLUTION FOR THE PROBLEM IS TO REPLACE THE GAS TANK. MY CAR ALREADY HAS THE UPDATED TANK AND I STILL CAN'T PUT GAS IN IT. THE DEALER SAID THERE HANDS ARE TIED BY THE MANUFACTURER SINCE THE CAR IS UNDER WARRANTY. *NM

THE CONTACT DEPRESSED THE BRAKE, AND EVERYTHING WORKED AGAIN. THE BATTERY WAS DISCONNECTED BRIEFLY, WHICH MADE EVERYTHING FUNCTION INTERMITTENTLY UPON RECONNECTING IT. THE BATTERY WAS DISCONNECTED A SECOND TIME FOR A FEW HOURS, WHICH FIXED THE PROBLEM. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT SEEN BY A DEALER.

THE FORD DEALERSHIP WOULD NOT HELP ME AT ALL, ALL THEY WOULD TELL ME IS THAT I SHOULD HAVE NEVER CHANGED THE ORIGINAL TIRES AND WHEELS.
