I HAVE HAD REPEATED PROBLEMS WITH MY CD PLAYER (SHAKKER 500) I HAVE HAD SIX STEREOS IN THE CAR AND ALL SIX HAVE DONE THE SAME THING. THEY WILL MAKE HORRIBLE NOISES, SAY BAD DISK OR DISK ERROR OR NOTHING AT ALL BEFORE IT STARTS SPITTING OUT THE CD'S. IF I DO NOT GRAB THE FIRST CD, IT WILL SPIT OUT ALL SIX. I HAVE HAD AN INDEPENDENT INSPECTION OF THE CAR TO DETERMINE THE PROBLEM BECAUSE I DO NOT FEEL IT IS THE STEREO. THE INSPECTION STATES THAT THE VOLTAGE IS DROPPING IN THE CAR WHICH SENDS THE STEREO INTO AN ERRATIC STATE. FORD MOTOR COMPANY SAYS THAT THEY CANNOT DUPLICATE THE PROBLEM SO THEIR SOLUTION IS TO KEEP PUTTING STEREO'S IN THE CAR. I JUST HAD A "BRAND NEW" STEREO INSTALLED ON APRIL 26, 2006. THIS WAS TO BE FORD'S FINAL ATTEMPT TO FIX THE PROBLEM. THE STEREO WENT CRAZY AGAIN TWICE ON FRIDAY APRIL 28, 2006. I HAVE REPEATEDLY COMPLAINED ABOUT THIS BEING A SAFETY ISSUE BECAUSE I CAN'T KEEP TAKING MY ATTENTION FROM MY DRIVING TO CATCH CD'S. I WANT A RESOLUTION AND I AM NOT GETTING IT WITH FORD. I WANT TO KNOW HOW TO GO ABOUT GETTING A RECALL ISSUED ON THIS CAR STEREO/ CAR/ VOLTAGE PROBLEM. ANY HELP YOU CAN GIVE WOULD BE GREATLY APPRECIATED. *JB
I WAS DRIVING 30-35 MILES ON A BUSY STREET (OVER PASS) IN A 2005 FORD MUSTANG WITH MY WIFE. THE CAR WENT CRAZY UNINTENDED SUDDEN ACCELERATION WITH A FRIGHTENING NOISE. I TRIED DESPERATELY TO STOP THE CAR BY BRAKING HARD AND MEANTIME TO AVOID THE CARS AHEAD AND OPPOSITE COMING CARS. THE CAR WOULD NOT STOP. I APPLIED HAND BRAKE ,THAT DID NOT HELP EITHER ONLY TO LEAVE HEAVY SKID MARK AND THE CAR TO SPIN ONCE THANKFULLY IN A CORNER OF A THREE WAY ROAD,AT THAT STAGE I TRIED TO PUT THE CAR IN PARK POSITION ,BUT THE SECOND THE GEAR REACHED THE REVERSE MARK THE CAR WENT FULL SPEED BACKWARDS CROSSING THE BUSY NORDHOFF WAY HITTING A POLE AND FIRE PUMP AND WITH CAR TIRES SPINNING AT FULL SPEED AT THE MOMENT I MANAGED TO PUT THE CAR IN PARK POSITION AND TURN OFF THE ENGINE. LUCKILY NOTHING SERIOUS HAPPENED TO ME AND MY WIFE AND NO CAR OR OTHER PERSON .THANKS TO GOD. HOW.? I DON'T KNOW ,SOMEONE UP THERE MUST HAVE TAKEN CARE OF US AND THE OTHERS BECAUSE THIS STREET IS NEAR A SHOPPING MALL AND THE DAY WAS SATURDAY 15 APRIL AND TIM WAS 1 PM AFTERNOON. THE POLICE AND FIRE TEAM GOT THERE IMMEDIATELY AND THERE IS A POLICE REPORT OF THE INCIDENT. I HAVE HARD TIME TO CONVINCE INSURANCE ALLSTATE AND FORD DEALERS TO ASSIGN AN ENGINEER TO LOOK INTO THE MATTER. I NEED YOUR ADVISE PLEASE. W E ARE EMOTIONALLY DISTURBED . *JB
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2005 FORD MUSTANG. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING AT VARIOUS SPEEDS THE VEHICLE WOULD MAKE A LOUD RATTLING NOISE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT TAKEN TO THE DEALER. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE WHO DID NOT OFFER ANY ASSISTANCE SINCE HER VEHICLE WAS NOT INCLUDED IN ANY RECALLS. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 3,500 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 30,000.
2005 FORD MUSTANG FUEL SYSTEM, REPLACED DUE TO SYSTEM FAILURE WHEN FILLING CAR WITH GAS, IT BROKE AGAIN FORD WILL NOT OR CAN NOT FIX, MANUAL 5-SPEED TRANSMISSIONS REPLACED 2 TIMES AND GOING OUT AGAIN, CAR AT FORD 28 DAYS IN LAST 6 MONTHS FOR WARRANTY REPAIRS, FORD DENIES THE CAR IS A LEMON. *JB
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2005 FORD MUSTANG. WHILE DRIVING 50 MPH THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL AUTOMATICALLY DEPRESSED TO THE FLOORBOARD. THE VEHICLE SPEED INCREASED TO APPROXIMATELY 80 MPH. THE CONTACT DEPRESSED THE BRAKE THREE TIMES BEFORE THE VEHICLE STOPPED. THE DEALER STATED THAT THERE WERE NO RECALLS AND WOULD NOT BE ABLE TO HELP. THE MANUFACTURER INFORMED THE CONTACT TO CALL BACK IF THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE CURRENT AND FAILURE MILEAGE WERE 20,000.*AK
THE FUEL TANK IS VERY DIFFICULT TO GET FUEL IN WHEN THE TANK IS OVER 1/4 FULL. THIS HAS BEEN GOING ON SINCE I BOUGHT THE CAR AND FORD RECOGNIZES THE PROBLEM BUT DOESN'T HAVE A FIX. I HAVE BEEN TOLD TO TRY OTHER GAS STATIONS. IT DOESN'T MATTER WHICH GAS STATION OR HOW THE HOSE IS POSITIONED. *TR
DT*: THE CONTACT STATED WHILE USING THE FUEL PUMPS AT VARIOUS SERVICE STATIONS FUEL WOULD SPILL OUT. THE FUEL SPILLS FROM THE TANK BEFORE THE AUTOMATIC SHUTOFF. AFTER INSPECTING THE VEHICLE THE DEALERSHIP REPLACED THE BREATHER TUBE AND THE FUEL TANK. THE PROBLEM CONTINUED TO OCCUR. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN BACK TO THE DEALER AND WAS UNABLE TO REMEDY THE PROBLEM. THERE ARE SERVICE BULLETINS FOR THE FUEL SYSTEM, THE MANUFACTURER NUMBERS ARE 05-15-12 AND 06-3-13. THE CONTACT TRIED DIFFERENT GAS PUMPS AND DIFFERENT GAS STATIONS WITH THE SAME RESULTS. SOMETIMES IT IS SO BAD THAT ONE CANNOT EVEN GET MORE THAN A COUPLE GALLONS INTO THE CAR, WHILE HAVING IT SPILL AND RUN DOWN THE SIDE AND ON THE UNDERSIDE OF THE CAR. *AK
THE PARKING BRAKE CALIPERS AND PADS FREEZE AND WILL NOT RELEASE WHEN TEMPERATURE DROPS BELOW 32 DEGREES--WHILE THE HANDLE IS FULLY RELEASED INSIDE THE VEHICLE. WHEN IN NEUTRAL AND PUSHED CAR WILL NOT ROLL, AND WHEN IN GEAR AND GIVEN GAS CAR BARELY BUDGES. TAKEN TWICE TO DEALERSHIP--BY TOW TRUCK--BUT WHEN ARRIVED TEMPERATURE HAD RISEN ABOVE 32 DEGREES AND PADS ETC HAD RELEASED. DEALERSHIP HAS NOT YET BEEN ABLE TO REPRODUCE THE PROBLEM. DEALERSHIP INSPECTED ENTIRE ASSEMBLY TWICE AND FOUND NO PROBLEMS. NO REPAIRS HAVE BEEN MADE. I AM A FIREFIGHTER/EMT FIRST RESPONDER AND RESPOND IN MY PERSONAL VEHICLE TO FIRES/ACCIDENTS/MEDICAL EMERGENCIES ETC. HAVING A CAR THAT DOES NOT OPERATE CORRECTLY IN COLD WEATHER IS NOT AN OPTION FOR ME. *NM
MY 2005 MUSTANG GT HAS HAD SEVERAL PROBLEMS SINCE OWNERSHIP. I PURCHASED THIS CAR NEW AND EVEN HAD TO ORDER THE DETAILS I WANTED ON THE CAR. SINCE OWNERSHIP, I HAVE HAD THE CAR INTO THE SERVICE DEPARTMENT ON SEVERAL OCCASIONS. THERE IS A VIBRATION THAT HAS BEEN UNABLE TO BE IDENTIFIED AS OF YET. DESPITE THE SERVICE DEPARTMENTS CALLS TO FORD. VIBRATION IS STILL PRESENT. THE OTHER PROBLEM IS THE FUEL GAUGE DROPS TO "E" AND AN ERROR LIGHT COMES ON. SERVICE DEPT. WAS UNABLE TO DETECT PROBLEM UNTIL THE SERVICE ENGINE LIGHT REMAINED ON. COMPUTER CODE SAID THAT THE PROBLEM WAS IN THE SULFUR IN THE FUEL. AM TO SUPPOSE TO ADD AN ADDITIVE TO FUEL OCCASIONALLY. FEEL THAT THIS SHOULD BE TOTALLY UNNECESSARY SINCE HIGH-QUALITY FUEL IS USED AND IT IS A NEW VEHICLE. APPARENTLY A SERVICE BULLETIN CAME OUT STATING THIS PROBLEM. THE FUEL TANKS ARE THE SAME IN OTHER VEHICLES BUT THIS IS A MUSTANG PROBLEM???? THIS PROBLEM SHOULD BE FIXED WITHOUT ANY OTHER COSTS TO CONSUMERS. ALSO, NOT BEING ABLE TO FILL FUEL TAX TO MAXIMUM CAPACITY. WAS TOLD THAT IT MUST HAVE HAD AN "AIR BUBBLE." THE SERVICE DEPARTMENT AT FORD IN GRAND JUNCTION COLORADO IS TRYING VERY HARD TO FIX THE PROBLEMS BUT IS GETTING NO WHERE WITH FORD. I HAVE MY CAR IN MORE TIMES THEN I CAN DRIVE IT. THEY HAVE NOW HAD THE CAR 4 DAYS!!!! I THEN RECEIVED A RECALL ON AN ITEM ON MY 2006 FORD F150 KING RANCH. WHAT IS UP FORD??? TWO NEW VEHICLES, TOO MANY PROBLEMS. *JB
I TOOK MY CAR BACK TO DEALER FOR SOME WARRANTY REPAIRS AND THEY ASKED ME IF MY CAR HAD BEEN IN AN ACCIDENT. I ADVISED THEM NO, IT WAS PURCHASED NEW. THEY SAID MY VIN# WAS INVALID. AFTER CHECKING FURTHER THEY DISCOVERED MY VIN NUMBER ON THE DASH AND THE VIN NUMBER ON THE DOOR WERE DIFFERENT. I HAVE BEEN TOLD TO NEVER ALLOW A VIN# TO BE CHANGED, HOWEVER, THEY WANT TO REMOVE MY WINDSHIELD AND REPLACE THE VIN PLATE TO MATCH WHAT THEY SAY IS THE REST OF THE VIN#'S ON THE VEHICLE. I DO NOT FEEL THIS IS ACCEPTABLE. I ENTERED THE CONTRACT TO PURCHASE THIS CAR IN GOOD FAITH AND FEEL THAT FORD SHOULD DO THE SAME. I WAS TOLD BY A HIGHWAY PATROL OFFICER THAT IF I HAD EVER BEEN PULLED OVER AND THEY HAD RUN MY VIN# THAT THEY WOULD HAVE IMPOUNDED MY CAR FOR AN INVALID VIN AND PROBABLY ARRESTED ME FOR DRIVING A STOLEN VEHICLE. THEY SAY THIS IS A SIMPLE FIX AND WON'T CAUSE PROBLEMS DOWN THE ROAD FOR ME. I WANT THEM TO BUY BACK THE VEHICLE OR REPLACE IT WITH ONE THAT HAS MATCHING VIN AND VIN PLATE NUMBERS. THIS IS THE ONLY FIX THAT WILL ALLOW ME TO FEEL SAFE. THE REGIONAL REP JOCELYN DUNNING FOR FORD SAID NO WAY, ALTHOUGH THIS DOESN'T HAPPEN OFTEN, IT DOESN'T FALL UNDER THE LEMON LAW. WHEN ASKED TO SPEAK TO HER SUPERIOR SHE ADVISED US SHE WAS IT. WHEN QUESTIONED FURTHER, SHE DOES HAVE A SUPERIOR, BUT SHE IS THE ONLY ONE TO MAKE THIS DETERMINATION. HELP! *NM
CORROSION ON THE HOOD, WATER LEAKING ON PASS. SIDE DOOR, WATER LEAKING UNDER THE GLOVE BOX, BISSELL AND GAUGES NOT WORKING, SPEEDS UP IN EXCESSIVE SPEED WITHOUT GIVING GAS,
IN THE WINTER OF 2006, I HAD TO BRING IN MY CAR IN FOR THE DEALERSHIP TO FIX THE PARKING BRAKE. WHAT HAPPENED WAS, THE BRAKE CABLE SPLIT SOMEWHERE ALLOWING MOISTURE TO COLLECT. WHEN THE PARKING BRAKE WAS APPLIED IT WOULD CAUSE THAT MOISTURE TO FREEZE, WITH THE RESULT OF LOCKED BRAKES. THIS HAS ALSO HAPPENED IN 2007. THE CAR IS NO LONGER ON WARRANTY SO I DON'T BOTHER GETTING IT FIXED ANYMORE, KNOWING IT WILL JUST HAPPEN AGAIN. INSTEAD I JUST PARK ON FLAT AREAS AND LEAVE IT IN GEAR. FORD HAS NEVER OFFERED A VALID SOLUTION OTHER THAN BRING IT IN EVERY TIME IT BREAKS. NOT IMPRESSED! *TR
DT*: THE CONTACT STATED WHILE ATTEMPTING TO FILL THE GAS TANK WITH GASOLINE, UPON INSERTION OF THE GAS NOZZLE IN THE FILLER NECK, THE FUEL TANK SENSOR PROVIDES A FALSE READING AS THOUGH THE TANK IS FULL, BUT IS LOW OR EMPTY. THERE IS A CLICKING NOISE FROM THE TANK AREA. THE VEHICLE WAS SEEN BY A DEALER. THE SERVICE DEPARTMENT SUGGESTED THERE WAS A PRESSURE RELIEF PROBLEM. THE DEALER REPLACED THE ENTIRE FUEL TANK ASSEMBLY, BUT THE PROBLEM CONTINUED TO EXIST. UPDATED 2/21/2006 - *NM
COMPLETE LOSS OF POWER WHEN DRIVING IN RAIN IN MY 2005 FORD MUSTANG WITH V 6 ENGINE. *JB
I WAS DRIVING THROUGH A SHOPPING CENTER PARKING LOT AT A SPEED OF APPROXIMATELY 5-10 MPH, APPROACHING A STOP SIGN. THERE WERE ABOUT THREE CARS AHEAD OF ME. AS I APPLIED THE BRAKES, THE ENGINE SUDDENLY REVVED AND BUCKED 3 TIMES RIGHT INTO THE BACK OF THE VEHICLE IN FRONT OF ME. THE BRAKES WERE APPLIED THROUGHOUT, BUT DID NOT STOP THE VEHICLE. THAT MONDAY VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO FORD DEALERSHIP AND THEY COULD NOT DUPLICATE PROBLEM, THEREFORE NO ASSESSMENT WAS MADE. THEY SUGGESTED THE AFTER MARKET FLOOR MAT I WAS USING COULD HAVE POSSIBLY BEEN THE CAUSE FOR THE SUDDEN ACCELERATION. I DISAGREE, THE FLOOR MAT WAS VERY HEAVY AND DID NOT SHIFT ABOUT AND WAS NOT IN THE WAY OF THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL; ALTHOUGH, I HAVE REMOVED THE FLOOR MAT. ANY FURTHER INCIDENTS WILL BE REPORTED. *NM
2005 MUSTANG V6, RIGHT REAR BRAKE LIGHT AND TURN SIGNAL BULB KEEPS BURNING OUT. IF SECOND BULB FAILS ON THIS SIDE THERE IS NO TURN SIGNAL. HAVE SEEN THIS DEFECT ON OTHER 05 + MUSTANGS. *JB
JANUARY 3, 2006 THE DRIVER WAS TRAVELING NORTH ON I-24 (NASHVILLE, TN.). THE CRUISE CONTROL WAS ON! SHE PREPARED TO TURN OFF I-24, AT HAYWOOD LANE EXIT, SHE APPLIED BRAKES. THE CAR FIRST SLOWED DOWN TO 40 MPH. THEN ACCELERATED/SPED UP. THE CAR WAS EXITED THE HIGHWAY AT GREAT SPEED. THE DRIVER BRAKED AGAIN, THE CAR SLOWED DOWN A LITTLE. THE CAR IMMEDIATELY SPED UP, WITH SUCH FORCE THE DRIVER WAS THROWN TO THE BACK OF HER SEAT. PRESSING THE BRAKES NOW HAD NO EFFECT. THE CONSUMER CLEARED THE EXIT LANE ONTO HAYWOOD, THE CAR WAS STILL SPEEDING. THE DRIVER FACED NO CROSS TRAFFIC AT THE INTERSECTION OF HAYWOOD LANE/ANTIOCH PIKE ( INTERSECTION-HAYWOOD THE I AND ANTIOCH PIKE THE TOP OF THE T). THE DRIVER CAR WAS STOPPED BY RUNNING INTO A CAR AND A VAN AT A GAS STATION. THE VEHICLES WERE SPUN AROUND AND HIT THE GAS STATION AT THE T. THE DRIVER HAS DRIVEN THIS HIGHWAY TURN OFF AND INTERSECTION OVER 23 YEARS. SHE HAS BEEN DRIVING THIS MAKE AND TYPE OF MUSTANG FOR SEVERAL YEARS. SHE HAS OWNED 5 MUSTANGS. THE DRIVER WAS TRANSPORTED TO HOSPITAL BY AMBULANCE. WITH A BROKEN NOSE, BROKEN FOOT (RIGHT WHERE THE FOOT WAS POSITIONED OVER THE BRAKE), CRACKED RIBS, BRUISED AND LACERATED FACE/ LEGS. AFTER A HOSPITAL STAY AND FOLLOW-UP VISITS BEFORE BEING ABLE TO RETURN TO WORK. FORD CONSUMER AFFAIRS WAS CONTACTED AND THEY DID A TELEPHONE INTERVIEW OF THE ABOVE FACTORS. QUESTIONS SEEMED TO BE AIMED AT DETERMINING IF AN ELECTRONIC MALFUNCTION HAD OCCURRED. THE QUESTIONER MAY HAVE BEEN READING FROM A CHECKLIST. LATER, WE RECEIVED A LETTER FROM FORD DEMANDING ALL SORTS OF INFORMATION. THIS WAS FORWARDED TO FORD. ABOUT 1 MONTH LATER, WE RECEIVED A CURT TWO LINE LETTER INDICATING "WE ARE UNABLE TO OFFER ANY ASSISTANCE AT THIS TIME". OUR INSURANCE COMPANY ELECTED TO TRY TO PERFORM A CRASH ANALYSIS. WE APPRISED THEM OF THE SIMILAR CRUISE CONTROL ON THIS WEBSITE AND PROVIDED INFORMATION ON "ROGUE SIGNALS" AND OTHER DATA CONCERNING THIS EVENT. RESULTS PENDING.
ON DECEMBER 30, 2005, MY DAUGHTER (AGE 17) WAS PREPARING TO STOP FOR A RED LIGHT, AS SHE HIT THE BRAKES, SHE STATED: "THE CAR ACCELERATED (FULL THROTTLE), AND WOULD NOT STOP. SHE CALLED US BY PHONE (CRYING) AND REPORTED THE INCIDENT. WE ASKED IF SHE WAS OK AND WHETHER SHE COULD DRIVE THE CAR. SHE SAID YES. SHE DROVE THE CAR BACK HOME (APPROXIMATELY 3 MILES) WHERE WE (FATHER AND MOTHER) QUESTIONED HER ABOUT THE INCIDENT. SHE STATED: "SHE WAS DRIVING ABOUT 50 MPH AND WHEN SHE APPLIED THE BRAKES THE CAR ACCELERATED. I WAS UNABLE TO STOP AND WENT THROUGH A RED LIGHT". AT THIS POINT, MY WIFE AND I BELIEVED SHE SOMEHOW HIT BOTH THE BRAKE AND ACCELERATOR PEDALS SIMULTANEOUSLY. SHE STATED EMPHATICALLY, THIS WAS NOT THE CASE AND SHE WOULD NEVER DRIVE THE VEHICLE AGAIN. ON MONDAY JANUARY 2ND, AT APPROXIMATELY 3:00 PM, I WAS DRIVING THE SUBJECT VEHICLE WHEN THE ACCELERATOR STUCK FULL THROTTLE. I PRESSED THE BRAKES AS HARD AS I COULD BUT THE CAR CONTINUED TO ACCELERATE UNTIL I TURNED THE IGNITION TO THE OFF POSITION. I WAS IN THE CENTER LANE OF THE HIGHWAY. I RESTARTED THE CAR (FOR FEAR OF BEING RUN OVER BY ON-COMING TRAFFIC, RAINING, DECREASED VISIBILITY), PLACED MY FOOT ON THE BRAKE, PLACED THE CAR IN GEAR TO GATHER MOMENTUM, TURNED OFF THE IGNITION, AND ROLLED INTO A PARKING LOT. THE THROTTLE REMAINED OPEN. I CONTACTED FORD WHO PICKED UP THE VEHICLE. TEAM FORD COULD NOT FIND ANYTHING WRONG WITH THE VEHICLE AND WANTED TO RETURN THE CAR. I REFUSED TO ACCEPT THE CAR FOR THE FOLLOWING REASONS: - CAR FAILED IN FULL-THROTTLE POSITION (FAIL-SAFE POSITION SHOULD HAVE BEEN NO-THROTTLE) - ERROR CODES DID NOT IDENTIFY THIS CONDITION - (FORD HAD NOT INCLUDED THIS IN THEIR FAILURE MODES ANALYSIS) - REPLACEMENT PARTS MAY HAVE THE SAME PROBLEM - - NEEDED ASSURANCES FROM FORD IN WRITING THAT THE ROOT CAUSE TO THIS PROBLEM HAD BEEN IDENTIFIED AND CORRECTED. FORD CORPORATE IS SENDING AN ENGINEER TO INSPECT THE VEHICLE. *JB
I PURCHASED A 2005 FORD MUSTANG V6. THE FIRST THING TO BREAK WAS THE PLASTIC ON THE SHIFTER THAT YOU PUT INTO GEAR. THEN I STARTED HAVING TROUBLE WITH GEARS NOT WANTING TO GO INTO PARK. I AM NOT THE ONLY ONE WITH THIS PROBLEM. MY SON BOUGHT A 2006 GT FORD MUSTANG AND HIS IS HAVING THE SAME PROBLEM. I WILL NOT BUY ANOTHER FORD. *TR
I HAVE EXPERIENCED COMPLETE BATTERY FAILURE TWICE ON MY NEW FORD MUSTANG. THE LOCAL FORD DEALERS SERVICE DEPARTMENT CANNOT GIVE ME A GOOD EXPLANATION AS TO WHAT IS CAUSING THIS PROBLEM. THEY TOLD ME THAT MY CAR WAS NOT BEING DRIVEN ENOUGH. THIS IS NO ANSWER. THEY TRIED TO SELL ME AN UNDER THE HOOD POWER DISCONNECT APPARATUS. RIGHT BRAKE STICKS CAUSING ROTORS AND PADS TO HEAT UP AND CATCH ON FIRE. THE DEALER REPLACED THE PADS AND ROTORS AND I HAD TO PAY FOR IT. THE PROBLEM STILL THERE. I HAVE ALSO READ FORUMS ONLINE WHERE OTHER OWNERS HAVE HAD THE BRAKE CATCH FIRE DUE TO IT CATCHING. THE MECHANIC AT THE DEALER ADMITTED THAT THE CALIPER WAS NOT WORKING RIGHT, BUT DEALER REFUSED TO REPLACE IT. MY DEALER WILL NOT FIX PROBLEM OR EVER LOOK AT THE ROTOR THAT IS ALREADY TORN UP AND OVER HEATER AGAIN AFTER ONLY 2 DAYS OF DRIVING. THE FIRST TIME THEY COULD NOT FIND ANYTHING WRONG, THE SECOND TIME IT WAS THE CANISTER VALVE, THE THIRD TIME THE FUEL PUMP MODULE, AND NOW THEY DON'T KNOW AGAIN. THE CAR STALLS AND REFUSES TO START. I CALLED FORD MOTOR'S ROADSIDE ASSISTANCE ON FRIDAY 11/18/05 FOR THE FIFTH TIME BECAUSE MY CAR WOULD NOT START. THE GENTLEMEN HAD ME PUSH A BUTTON TO RESET THE FUEL PUMP AND THE CAR STARTED. FORD ALSO RENEGED ON THEIR PROMISE TO OFFER ME A LOANER CAR, STATING I EXHAUSTED THAT BENEFIT, HOWEVER THAT MAKES ABSOLUTELY NO SENSE BECAUSE IF THEY HAD FIXED THE PROBLEM THE FIRST TIME, I WOULD NOT HAVE HAD TO MISS SO MANY DAYS FROM WORK AND DELAYED MY VACATION BECAUSE I CANNOT RELY ON MY VEHICLE. *JB
AT 40 MPH THE 4 WHEEL ANTILOCK BRAKES ON MY 2005 FORD MUSTANG LOCKED UP WHEN I WAS ATTEMPTING TO STOP AT A STOP LIGHT, CAUSING MY CAR TO HYDROPLANE INTO THE BACK OF A DODGE PICKUP. THE STEERING DID NOTHING. THE VEHICLE SPUN 180 DEGREES, WHICH FORCED THE CONTACT TO ATTEMPT TO TURN THE VEHICLE IN A COMPLETE CIRCLE. THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL WAS APPLIED TO ATTEMPT TO RECOVER, HOWEVER THE TRACTION CONTROL PREVENTED THE CONTACT FROM CORRECTING THE SKID. THE VEHICLE WENT OVER AN EMBANKMENT AND BECAME LODGED IN ROADSIDE MUD. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED.
DT: THE CONSUMER STATED WHEN PULLING INTO A PARKING LOT AT A VERY LOW SPEED THE VEHICLE SUDDENLY ACCELERATED WHEN BRAKE PRESSURE WAS APPLIED. THE VEHICLE SLOWED THEN QUICKLY SURGED FORWARD. THE GAS TANK ON MY 2005 FORD MUSTANG V6 OVERFLOWS WHEN I FILL IT. I STOP IN ADVANCE OF THE TANK BEING FULL THEN THE FUEL COMES UP AND OUT THE FILL TUBE SOMETIMES WITH ENOUGH FORCE TO SPLASH ONTO MY CLOTHING. THIS HAPPENS EVERY TIME I FILL THE TANK AND I HAVE TAKEN TO NOT FILLING THE TANK COMPLETELY ANY LONGER. THIS IS AFTER THE TANK WAS REPLACED BY MY LOCAL FORD DEALERSHIP WHERE I PURCHASED THE VEHICLE. PURCHASED VEHICLE IN 4/05-PROBLEMS STARTED IN 10/05. ENGINE LIGHT ON AND ENGINE IDLE ROUGH ON 4 SEPARATE OCCASIONS. TWO SENSORS, A SOLENOID, AND SPARK PLUG REPLACED ON THOSE OCCASIONS. NOW CAR IS AT DEALER BECAUSE IT WILL STALL WHEN IDLE AND LOSE POWER. THIS IS REALLY NOT SAFE WHEN YOU ARE ENTERING TRAFFIC! STILL WAITING FOR THE OUTCOME OF THIS. THE FUEL SENDING UNIT NEEDED TO BE REPLACED DUE TO ERRATIC FUEL GAUGE-THE GAUGE WOULD SHOW EMPTY WHEN THE TANK WAS FULL. *NM
(1 AND 2) THE MANUAL TRANSMISSION ON THE VEHICLE HAS INTERMITTENT PROBLEMS WHERE IT WILL NOT GO INTO GEAR (UP-SHIFTING). REGARDLESS OF TYPE OF DRIVING (FUEL EFFICIENT, HARD DRIVING), THE VEHICLE WILL LOCK OUT OF THE NEXT GEAR. FOR EXAMPLE, FROM FIRST TO 2ND GEAR. THE TRANSMISSION WILL GO APPROXIMATELY HALF-WAY INTO GEAR AND STOP. THE RESULT IS AN INABILITY TO CONTINUE ACCELERATING. THE VEHICLE MUST BE TAKEN OUT OF THE LOCKED GEAR, PUT IN NEUTRAL, CLUTCH RELEASED AND RE-ENGAGED, THEN SHIFTED BACK INTO THE PREVIOUSLY ATTEMPTED GEAR (2ND GEAR IN THE CURRENT EXAMPLE). POSSIBLE RESULTS OF THIS INCIDENT INCLUDE ACCIDENTS AND INJURY. I HAVE ALMOST BEEN REAR-ENDED SEVERAL TIMES. (3) THE VEHICLE HAS BEEN TAKEN INTO SERVICE TWICE FOR THE ISSUE. THE FIRST TIME (JUNE '05), THE DEALERSHIP ADJUSTED THE LINKAGE RESULTING IN NO CHANGE. THE DEALERSHIP ALSO TOLD THE CONSUMER (ME) TO MAKE SURE THE CLUTCH WAS COMPLETELY ENGAGED. THE SECOND TIME (10/18/2005) THE VEHICLE WAS PUT IN FOR REPAIR, THE DEALERSHIPS SERVICE ADVISOR AND SERVICE MANAGER INFORMED THE CONSUMER THAT IT WAS A DESIGN FLAW IN THE TRANSMISSION. FORD IS "LOOKING INTO IT, BUT THERE IS NO SOLUTION AVAILABLE AT THIS TIME AND MAY NOT BE AVAILABLE IN THE FUTURE. *JB

WHILE TURNING OFF OF THE HIGHWAY INTO A RESIDENTIAL AREA THE TRANSMISSION MALFUNCTIONED CAUSING UNCONTROLLABLE ACCELERATION. THE BRAKES WERE APPLIEDBUT THE VEHICLE CONTINUED TO ACCELERATE. THE FRONT BRAKES DID NOT STOP THE VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE WENT INTO A CLOCK WISE SPIN. THE CAR TURNED ONTO THE DRIVER'S SIDE AND THEN HIT A TREE. WHAT HAPPENED NEXT WAS THAT THE ELECTRICAL SYSTEM WAS STILL ACTING STRANGE, THE TRUNK OPENED AND TRYING TO CLOSE IT BACK DOWN THE LIGHTS CAME OFF AND ON. THE DOOR LOCKS WOULD LOCK AND UNLOCK BY THEMSELVES. THE VEHICLE HAD $6,300 WORTH OF DAMAGE. THE DEALERSHIP DID NOT ASSIST THE CONSUMER WITH ANYTHING. THE VEHICLE WAS PURCHASED ON AUGUST 29, 2005 AS A NEW VEHICLE WHICH ONLY HAD 72 MILES ON IT. UPON IMPACT THE AIRBAGS DID NOT DEPLOY AND THE FUEL CUT OFF SWITCH DID NOT ACTIVATE. HAD TOWED TO A FORD DEALER, WHO DID A DIAGNOSTICS CHECK WHICH REPORTED NO CODES OR FAILURES. THE CAR WAS IN DEALER 2 DAYS WITH NO REPAIRS, NO PROBLEMS WERE FOUND. WOULD NOT FIX MIRROR BECAUSE THEY COULD NOT DUPLICATE A PROBLEM. THIS WAS THE FIRST AND ONLY INCIDENT.*AK
I TOOK MY 2005 MUSTANG TO THE DEALER AFTER IT HAD RAINED AND WATER CAME INTO THE CAR,,ALL THE ELECTRIC TURNED OF THEN BACK ON WHEN I WAS DRIVEN ON THE HIGHWAY,THEY SAID THEY COULDN'T FIND ANYTHING WRONG,,I SEE THIS HAS BEEN A PROBLEM FROM WHAT I HAVE BEEN READING,,NOW THE GAUGES DON'T WORK,,WAS TOLD IT WAS THE CLUSTER BECAUSE OF THE WATER,,CAN YOU GET ANYTHING DONE ABOUT THIS. *TR
PURCHASED OUR 2005 MUSTANG CONVERTIBLE ON 4/27/05, AFTER WAITING TWO MONTHS FOR IT TO BE BUILT. STARTED HAVING A PROBLEM WITH VEHICLE TAKING IN FUEL AFTER ABOUT A MONTH OF OWNERSHIP. TRIED SEVERAL GAS STATIONS TO BE SURE IT WASN'T A PUMP PROBLEM, BUT MADE NO DIFFERENCE. CALLED DON REID FORD IN JULY AND ASKED ABOUT PROBLEM AND WAS INFORMED THERE WAS A SERVICE BULLETIN ON THE ISSUE AND THEY ORDERED A NEW GAS TANK. TANK WAS INSTALLED ON 8/4/05 AND FILLED UP WITHOUT A PROBLEM FOR THE FIRST 2 TANKS. AFTER THAT THE GAS PUMP STARTED CLICKING OFF AGAIN AFTER THE THIRD FILL UP. TRIED DIFFERENT GAS STATIONS AGAIN AND HAD THE SAME RESULTS ON THE NEXT TWO FILL UPS. TOOK VEHICLE BACK TO DEALER ON 9/12/05 AND WAS TOLD THEY WOULD HAVE TO TEST SOME THINGS AND CALL A FORD ENGINEER ON THE MATTER. WAS CALLED BY MY SERVICE ADVISOR ON 8/14/05 AND TOLD THAT FORD WAS AWARE OF THE PROBLEM AND THE ENGINEER TOLD MY ADVISOR AND THE SERVICE MANAGER THAT "IF ALL THE STARS WERE ALIGNED, THEY WOULD HAVE A FIX IN ABOUT 90 DAYS." I WAS TOLD BY MY SERVICE ADVISOR THAT I SHOULD TRY USING GAS STATIONS WITH SLOWER PUMPS UNTIL THEY GET THE FIX...AND I PAID $27,570 FOR THAT ANSWER??? *NM
THE TUNNEL DOWN THE CENTER OF THE CAR GETS EXTREMELY HOT AT THE FRONT OF THE TUNNEL NEAR THE PEDALS. WHEN THE BARE METAL OF THE TUNNEL IS TOUCHED IT IS HOT ENOUGH TO INDUCE A BURN. DEALER CONTACTED FORD AND TOLD ME IT WAS "NORMAL". AS THE PLASTICS AND CARPETING TOUCHING THE TUNNEL AGE, I AM CONCERNED THIS MAY PRESENT A FIRE HAZARD. AFTER REVIEWING POSTS ON TWO MUSTANG FORUMS, OTHERS APPARENTLY HAVE EXPERIENCED THIS PROBLEM AS WELL. THE CAR IS A GT V8 WITH A MANUAL 5-SPEED TRANSMISSION. *JB
DT: THE MODULATOR FOR THE FUEL EJECTION SYSTEM DID NOT WORK ON JULY 29, 2005. THE VEHICLE STOPPED AND QUIT RUNNING IN THE MIDDLE OF THE ROAD. HAD IT TOWED TO THE FORD DEALER. ITS HAS BEEN ALMOST 2 WEEKS ,AND THEY DID NOT HAVE THE PART. THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON CAME ON. THE VEHICLE STALLED. *AK
