DT: CONTACT STATES HIS VEHICLE WILL NOT START. THE VEHICLE HAS BEEN TAKEN TO THE DEALERSHIP 4 TIMES. THE 3RD TIME THE DEALERSHIP REPLACED THE BATTERY THIS WAS OCTOBER 10, 2005. THIS DID NOT FIX THE VEHICLE THE BATTERY WENT DEAD AGAIN. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO THE DEALERSHIP NOVEMBER 14, 2005 THE VEHICLE IS AT THE DEALERSHIP AS OF NOW. *NM UPDATED 11/30/2005 - *NM
DT: THE CONSUMER HAS 2005 FORD MUSTANG. WHEN THE CONSUMER WAS DRIVING SOUTH FROM GRASS VALLEY DURING THE DAY, HE COULD NOT SEE THE INSTRUMENT PANEL. THE CONSUMER BELIEVED THAT IT WAS DUE TO THE INSTRUMENT PANEL BEING LOCATED TOO FAR INTO THE DASHBOARD. THE CONSUMER SAID THAT AT NIGHT HE COULD SEE THE INSTRUMENT PANEL FINE. IF THE VEHICLE PASSED INTO SOME TYPE OF SHADE DURING THE DAY THE INSTRUMENT PANEL WOULD BECOME VISIBLE. THE CONSUMER SAYS THAT HE JUST GOT OFF OF HIGHWAY STATE ROUTE 49 AND NOTICED THAT WHEN TRAVELING WITH THE SUN BEHIND OR IN FRONT, HE COULD NOT SEE THE INSTRUMENT PANEL. ANYTIME THAT THE VEHICLE WAS SHADED THE INSTRUMENTS COULD NOT BE SEEN EASILY. THIS WAS A SAFETY PROBLEM DUE TO NOT BEING ABLE TO SEE WHAT SPEED THE VEHICLE WAS TRAVELING AT. WHEN CHANGING SPEED ZONES, NOT BEING ABLE TO SEE WHAT SPEED VEHICLE WAS TRAVELING AT CAUSED THE ISSUE. *AK *SC
WHILE DRIVING MY 2005 FORD MUSTANG (V6 WITH 7,000 ON THE ODOMETER) AT APPROX. 40MPH THE GAS PEDAL SUDDENLY BECAME TOTALLY INOPERATIVE. THIS OCCURRED ONLY ONCE BUT WAS FOLLOWED IN TWO SUBSEQUENT EVENTS WITH THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT COMING ON AND THE (YELLOW WRENCH LIGHT) FOR THE THROTTLE CONTROL. THIS THEN ACTIVATED THE "LIMP HOME" MODE. OBVIOUSLY LOOSING ALL GAS PEDAL RESPONSE WHILE DRIVING WAS THE FRIGHTENING PART OF ALL THIS. *TR
DT: CONTACT STATED THAT THERE WAS A SMALL AMOUNT OF BRAKE FLUID THAT WAS LEAKING FROM THE CAP ON THE MASTER CYLINDER. THE SERVICE DEALER REPLACED THE CAP ON THE MASTER CYLINDER TO REMEDY THE PROBLEM. THIS DID NOT STOP THE BRAKE FLUID FROM LEAKING. THE CONCERN WAS THAT THE BRAKE FLUID WAS LEAKING ONTO THE STRUCTURE OF THE VEHICLE. OVER TIME, THIS MAY CAUSE EXCESSIVE CORROSION ON THE STRUCTURE OF THE VEHICLE. THE SERVICE ADVISOR STATED THAT THIS WAS NORMAL FOR THIS MODEL. ANOTHER COMPLAINT THE CONTACT STATED T WAS THAT HE POWER DRIVEN SEAT MADE A CREAKING NOISE. THE DEALER WOULD ADJUST THE SEAT TO KEEP IT FROM CREAKING. THE CONCERN WAS THAT IF HE HAS TO ADJUST THE SEAT WHILE DRIVING IT MAY CAUSE THE CONTACT TO BECOME DISTRACTED AND COULD RESULT IN AN ACCIDENT.
2005 MUSTANG V6 AUTO. NEARLY GOT HIT ON SIDE BECAUSE CAR STALLED WHEN ACCELERATING FROM A STILL POSITION TURNING LEFT TO CROSS A THROUGH TRAFFIC ROAD TO GET ACCROSS TO ANOTHER ROAD. HAPPENED AT LEAST 10 TIMES SINCE OWNING CAR.
DIFFICULTY IN FILLING FUEL TANK. I HAVE HAD THIS PROBLEM FROM THE TIME I PURCHASED VEHICLE, TO PRESENT. VEHICLE IS 2005 MUSTANG GT AND HAS OVER 5000 MILES ON IT. BASICALLY, APPROX. EVERY OTHER TIME I TRY TO FILL FUEL TANK, ONE OF TWO THINGS HAPPENS: (1) FUEL NOZZLE WILL ALMOST IMMEDIATELY SHUT OFF- AS IF TANK IS ALREADY FULL. AFTER MULTIPLE ATTEMPTS (WAITING, EXPERIMENTING WITH ANGLE AND/OR DEPTH OF NOZZLE INSERTION) I CAN ALMOST ALWAYS GET FUEL TO START FLOWING INTO THE TANK. THAT'S WHEN SYMPTOM (2) CAN HAPPEN (AGAIN, ROUGHLY HALF OF TIME I PULL INTO STATION). AT ABOUT THE POINT WHEN TANK IS HALF FULL, THE NOZZLE WILL STOP FILLING (AS IF TANK IS FULL) AND WILL REFUSE TO TAKE ANYMORE GAS NO MATTER WHAT I DO. I HAVE EXPERIMENTED WITH DIFFERENT GAS STATIONS, AND EVEN WITH DIFFERENT PUMPS AT SAME STATION AND HAVE YET TO DETERMINE A PATTERN - OR WHY THIS HAPPENS SO RANDOMLY. ONE THING I'M SURE OF IS THAT IT'S THE VEHICLE'S PROBLEM, AS OTHER CARS I HAVE HAD RECENTLY NEVER DID THIS. I HAVE SEEN THAT THIS ISSUE IS KNOWN ABOUT BY FORD AND A TSB HAS BEEN ISSUED. HOWEVER, FROM FORUM POSTS I'VE SEEN ON INTERNET, IT APPEARS THAT FUEL TANK REPLACEMENTS FORD HAS DONE FOR THIS ISSUE MANY TIMES DO NOT FIX ISSUE. FOR THAT REASON, I HAVE LIVED WITH THIS ANNOYANCE SO FAR. *JB
I WAS DRIVING MY 2005 FORD MUSTANG GT COUPE NORTHBOUND ON A 35-MPH CITY STREET. I WAS PREPARING TO TURN INTO A BUSINESS DRIVEWAY. WHILE ATTEMPTING TO BRAKE INTO THE TURN THE (ABS) LIGHT LIT UP ON THE DASH CONSOLE AS WELL AS ''CHECK TRAC CONTROL'' ON THE HEADS UP DISPLAY. IN THAT VERY INSTANT THE BRAKES BECAME ''LIGHT AND MUSHY'' CAUSING THE VEHICLE TO LOSE TRACTION WHILE TURNING. THE END RESULT OF THIS WAS THAT THE VEHICLE STRUCK THE CURB INSIDE THE DRIVEWAY ENTRANCE. THE DRIVER''S FRONT TIRE HIT THE CURB WITH A SOLID IMPACT. THIS CAUSED SERIOUS DAMAGE TO THE RIM, TIRE, FRONT AXLE, AND PROBABLY SOME OTHER UNDERLYING DAMAGE THAT IS YET TO BE DETERMINED. FORTUNATELY NO ONE WAS INJURED, BUT IF THIS HAD HAPPENED ON THE HIGHWAY SOME ONE MAY HAVE BEEN KILLED. I DO NOT IF THIS IS AN ISOLATED INCIDENT BUT I THOUGHT I WOULD MAKE SOME ONE AWARE JUST IN CASE.
DT: THE CONSUMER STATES THROTTLE GOT STUCK WITH THE BRAKE ON. THE VEHICLE SPED UP REAL FAST;.THE CONSUMER TURNED THE VEHICLE OFF. HE THEN PULLED THE VEHICLE OVER TO THE CENTER LANE AND STARTED THE CAR AGAIN. THIS HAPPENED ON JULY 8, 2005, IT HAS NOT HAPPENED SINCE. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALERSHIP, BUT THEY COULD NOT DUPLICATE THE PROBLEM. *AK
I PURCHASED A 2005 MUSTANG ON JUNE 17, 2005. ON JULY 6, 2005, WHILE IN TRAFFIC I NOTICED IN STOP AND GO TRAFFIC THE CAR WAS ACCELERATING WHEN IT SHOULD HAVE BEEN DECELERATING. I ACTUALLY SMELLED RUBBER BURNING FROM THE TIRES THAT WERE STILL MOVING ALTHOUGH THE BREAK WAS PRESSED. WHEN I BEGAN TO ACCELERATE, THE CAR ACTED AS IF IT WAS IN NEUTRAL AND WOULD NOT MOVE FOR APPROXIMATELY 4 TO 5 SECONDS, BUT THE ENGINE REVELED UP HIGH THEN THE CAR JERKED AND ACCELERATED ON ITS OWN. ON JULY 8, 2005 WHILE STOPPING AT A STOP SIGN THE CAR ACCELERATED WHEN IT SHOULD HAVE DECELERATED CAUSING THE TIRES TO CONTINUE TO TURN, ONCE AGAIN I SMELLED THE RUBBER BURNING FROM THE TIRE. ON JUNE 11, 2005, CAR ACCELERATED WHEN STOPPING. I TOOK THE CAR IN TO AUTOMAX FORD, EXPLAINED WHAT WAS HAPPENING, TOOK REPAIR OFFICE ATTENDANT FOR A TEST DRIVE, PROBLEM DID NOT HAPPEN DURING THE TEST DRIVE. ATTENDANT SAID IF IT HAPPENS AGAIN BRING IT IN. ON JULY 12, 2005, ACCELERATED AT STOP SIGN, WHEN TRIED TO ACCELERATE CAR WOULD NOT MOVE, THEN KICKED INTO GEAR AFTER 4 TO 5 SECONDS ACCELERATED HIGH AND SPED OFF. JULY 13, 2005, ACCELERATED WHEN STOPED, JULY 14, 2005, WHEN STOPPED AND STARTED CAR WOULD NOT MOVE WHEN ACCELERATED. CALLED AUTOMAX FORD SPOKE WITH SAME REPAIR ATTENDANT, VOICED MY CONCERN OF BEING AFRAID TO DRIVE THE CAR. I HAVE KIDS AND THIS CAR IS NOT SAFE. ASKED ATTENDANT FOR A LOANER CAR BECASUE I HAVE NO OTHER TRANSPORTATION AND HE SAID HE WILL CALL ME WHEN A LOANER CAR IS AVAILABLE. PLEADED WITH HIM NOT TO FORGET ABOUT ME AND HOW AFRAID I WAS TO DRIVE THE CAR. I HAVEN'T MADE THE FIRST PAYMENT ON THIS CAR AND IT IS CAUSING PROBLEMS FOR ME.
AFTER DRIVING MY MUSTANG APPROXIMATELY 1 TO 1 1/2 HOURS AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS, I EXITED THE INTERSTATE. AT THE TOP OF THE RAMP I ATTEMPTED TO MERGE INTO TRAFFIC BUT WHEN I PUSHED THE ACCELERATOR THE CAR SHUT OFF RIGHT IN THE PATH OF ONCOMING TRAFFIC. IT DID RESTART SO I AVOIDED BEING STRUCK. SINCE THEN IT HAS DONE IT SEVERAL TIMES EVEN WHILE DRIVING ALONG THEN ACCELERATING. I HAVE HAD SEVERAL CLOSE CALLS DUE TO THIS PROBLEM. I HAVE RETURNED THE CAR TO THE DEALERSHIP ON THREE DIFFERENT OCCASIONS. THE FIRST TIME, THEY REPLACED A O2 SENSOR. THE LAST TWO TIMES THEY SAID THEY CAN NOT FIND A PROBLEM.
HESITATION GETTING FUEL WHEN STEPPING ON ACCELERATOR - USUALLY OCCURS AFTER CAR HAS BEEN RUNNING FOR A WHILE. AFTER COMING TO A STOP OR TURN, THE HESITATION OCCURS KNOWN PROBLEM BY FORD ENGINEERS ACCORDING TO SERVICE- NO FIX AVAILABLE. THIS PROBLEM HAS ALMOST CAUSED ME THREE COLLISIONS.
DT: 2005 FORD MUSTANG GT - THERE WAS BAD VIBRATION WITHIN VEHICLE. THIS HAPPENED ANYTIME WHILE DRIVING AT 45 MPH AND ABOVE. IT SEEMED WORSE WHEN THE CAR SAT FOR A FEW DAYS. THIS DID NOT START UNTIL THE CAR HAD APPROXIMATELY 3000-4000 MILES ON IT. THE DEALER SEEMED TO THINK IT WAS THE TIRES, ONE NEW SET OF ALL FOUR TIRES, AND A SET OF TWO TIRES THAT WERE PUT ON THIS VEHICLE. THE TIRE CALIBRATION MACHINE STATED THAT THE TIRES WERE WITHIN SPECS. THE CONSUMER CALLED THE MANUFACTURER, AND THERE WERE NO RECALLS OR TECHNICAL SERVICE BULLETINS ON THIS CAR. *AK THE CONSUMER BELIEVED THE PROBLEM IS WITH THE SUSPENSION OR THE DRIVE TRAIN. UPDATED 02/14/06. *JB
PINION GEAR IN REAR END WHINED WHILE TRAVELING ON INTERSTATE DURING WEEKEND TRIP. STOPPED AT FORD DEALERSHIP WHERE A TECHNICIAN ROAD TESTED AND EXAMINED VEHICLE. STATED THAT WE COULD DRIVE AND STILL FINISH WEEKEND TRIP BUT TO CONTACT PURCHASE DEALERSHIP FOR WARRANTY WORK. THAT WAS DONE THE PARTS TOOK 5 WEEKS TO COME IN FOR THE 2005 GT MUSTANG. REPAIR COMPLETED AND CAR RUNNING NEARLY FINE. ON OCCASSIONS WE HAVE DIFFICULTY FUELING . THE GAS FUEL PUMP AT THE STATION WILL CLICK OFF AND WE GET ONLY PARTIALLY FUEL THE GT. *JB
PURCHASED THE CAR ON JUNE 1, 2005 AND ON THREE OCCASIONS HAVE BEEN UNABLE TO FILL THE GAS TANK MORE THAN HALF WAY. I HAVE EVEN LEFT THE GAS STATION AND GONE BACK LATER IN THE DAY TO FINISH FILLING THE TANK, BUT WAS UNABLE TO DO SO, AS THE PUMP CONTINUED TO SHUT OFF AS IF THE TANK WAS ALREADY FULL.

THE CAR WAS TAKEN TO DEALER AGAIN, AND THE DEALER PUT ON A BLACK BOX TO RECORD EVENTS. THE OWNERS ARE AFRAID TO DRIVE IT BECAUSE THEY ARE UNABLE TO DETERMINE WHAT IS WRONG OR HAVE IT REPAIRED. THE PROBLEM IS INTERMINTENT.
CANNOT FILL UP GAS TANK. ONCE THE TANK IS HALF FULL, THE PUMP STOPS. THIS HAS HAPPENED TWICE - FIRST TIME ON 6/12/2005 & 6/22/2005. WE PURCHASED THE 2005 MUSTANG ON 6/1/05 AND COULD ONLY FILL IT UP ONCE WITHOUT THE PUMP STOPPING. THE CAR WAS LOOKED AT BY A FORD DEALERSHIP AND A NEW GAS TANK HAS BEEN ORDERED. WILL FOLLOW-UP IN THE NEXT FEW WEEKS TO SEE IF THIS WILL CORRECT THE PROBLEM.
TAKATA RECALL AS WELL AS PROBLEMS FILLING THE GAS TANK. WHILE STATIONARY TRYING TO PUMP GAS IN TO THE GAS TANK THE GAS PUMP WILL SHUT OFF AFTER PUMPING NO ORE THAN 1/16 OF A TANK THEN REQUIRING YOU TO DRIBBLE GAS IN TO THE TANK WITH THE PUMP REGULARLY SHUTTING OFF EVERY FEW SECONDS AND NEVER FILLING THE TANK WITH OUT THE PUMP SHUTTING OFF COMPLETELY, AND THIS HAPPENS AT ALL PUMPS IN EVERY STATE AND EVERY BRAND OF GAS. ONCE YOU PUMP AS MUCH GAS AS THE PUMP WILL ALLOW YOU HAVE TO HOLD TE THROTTLE PEDAL DOWN TO THE FLOOR TO GET THE CAR TO START AND THEN YOU HAVE TO FEATHER THE PEDAL TO KEEP THE ENGINE RUNNING WHICH CAUSES THE ENGINE TO RACE AND IS VERY DANGEROUS.
REAR STABALIZER BAR BRACKET TOO CLOSE TO REAR WHEEL RIM HOUSING--WITHIN 1/2 INCH.
VEHICLE HAS TSB FOR TANK BELCHING FUEL OUT OF THE TANK AND OR EARLY FILL UP SHUT OFF. TSB PERFORMED AND THIS IS STILL AN ISSUE NOT ONLY DOES THE FILLER CLICK OFF CONSTANTLY BUT MANY TIMES IS SPEWS FUEL FROM THE FILLER WHEN THIS HAPPENS SAME AS BEFORE THE TSB WAS DONE. *JB
DT: CONTACT STATES. THE PINION GEAR (WHICH THE CONSUMER SAYS IS PART OF THE REAR END) IS BAD ON HIS 2005 CONVERTIBLE FORD MUSTANG DIAGNOSED BY THE DEALER. THE MANUFACTURER SAYS THERE IS NO FIX FOR THIS. THE DEALER SAYS THEY CANNOT GET THE PARTS BECAUSE FORD WILL NOT RELINQUISH THE PARTS. THE DEALER AND THE MANUFACTURER TELLS HIM THERE IS AN INDEFINITE BACKORDER ON THE PARTS. THE VEHICLE HAS 4500 MILES ON IT. HE ALSO CANNOT PUT THE CONVERTIBLE TOP UP OR DOWN ON THE VEHICLE. THE MOTOR ON THE TOP IS BLOWN UP AND THE DEALER AND THE MANUFACTURER DO NOT HAVE A NEW ONE AND REFUSE TO GIVE HIM THE OLD PUMP BACK. THEY HAVE TOLD HIM THERE IS NO FIX FOR THE CONVERTIBLE TOP. HE CAN ONLY PUT ONE HALF GALLON OF GAS IN THE CAR AT A TIME BECAUSE THE GAS PUMP CLICKS ON/OFF TELLING HIM THE GAS TANK IS FULL. THE DEALER HAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE GAS TANK IS BAD AND HAS ORDERED A NEW GAS TANK THAT WILL BE THERE ON 7-29-05 WHICH IS COVERED BY THE WARRANTY. OTHER WAS SELECTED AS THE COMPONENT FOR THE PINION GEAR BECAUSE THE CONSUMER WAS NOT SURE WHERE THE PINION GEAR WAS LOCATED . *NM
DT: THE LATCH THAT HOLDS THE CONVERTIBLE TOP ONTO WINDSHIELD CAME LOOSE AND UNLATCHED WHILE DRIVING 75 MPH. THE CONVERTIBLE TOP WENT BACKWARD, NO DEBRIS CAME OFF, BUT PAPERS FLEW OUT OF CAR. DEALER REPORTED THAT THE CONVERTIBLE LATCH MUST NOT HAVE NOT HAVE BEEN LATCHED. NO REPAIR YET, DEALER HAS THE VEHICLE. VERY WINDY OUTSIDE, HEADING INTO A HEAD WIND WHEN INCIDENT OCCURRED. VEHICLE H HAD NO OTHER PROBLEMS, AND THERE WAS NO WARNING.*AK
DT: CONSUMER COMPLAINED ABOUT FUEL SYSTEM PROBLEM. THERE WERE 2 UNIT SYSTEMS. WHEN GOING FROM STOP TO START THE CAR HESITATED, AND IT TOOK AT LEAST 2 OR 3 SECONDS BEFORE IT WENT BACK TO NORMAL. DEALER HAD SEEN THIS CAR, AND ORDERED APART FOR THE REPLACEMENT OF FUEL SYSTEM. THEY SAID THE PARTS WOULD BE IN FOUR TO FIVE DAYS. DEALER TOLD CONSUMER TO DRIVE THE CAR NORMALLY. BUT HESITATION RECURRED.
INITIAL PROBLEMS: 1. PIN STRIP ON DRIVER SIDE WAS PEELING OFF 2. A/C VENT FELL OUT OF CONSOLE 3. CONVERTIBLE TOP GOT STUCK IN THE DOWN POSITION. STOPPED BY CLOSEST DEALER BECAUSE I WAS ON VACATION AND WE PULLED THE TOP BACK UP. BROUGHT IT TO A LOCAL DEALER FOR REPAIRS AND THEY SAID IT WAS NOT COVERED UNDER WARRANTY BECAUSE THE ENTIRE CONVERTIBLE TOP FRAME WAS TWISTED. THEY STATED THIS WAS BECAUSE I MOST LIKELY HAD DRIVEN WHILE THE TOP WAS HALF WAY UP/DOWN. AFTER SEVERAL WEEKS FORD ENGINEERS DECIDED TO COVER THE REPAIRS FOR THE TOP. TOOK THE DEALER FIVE WEEKS TO GET ALL PARTS AND REPLACE THE TOP. 4. GAS TANK REPLACED BECAUSE GAS PUMPS WOULD CONSTANTLY CUT OFF WHILE REFUELING. 5. A/C MAKES POPPING NOISE EVERY ONCE IN WHILE. CURRENT ISSUES: 1. NOISE IN FRONT END WHILE TURNING AT SLOW SPEEDS 2. AFTER CAR WARMS TO DRIVING TEMPERATURE, THERE IS A THUMPING NOISE HEARD IN ENGINE, VERY PROMINENT IN INTERIOR 3. DRIVER SIDE EXTERIOR DOOR HANDLE STICKS IN THE OUT POSITION 4. CONVERTIBLE TOP MAKING A THUD NOISE WHEN RAISING AND LOWERING TOP 5. PURCHASED A 2005 FORD MUSTANG IN MAY, 2005. FORD FAILED TO NOTIFY COSTUMERS THAT SOME OF THE 2005 FORD MUSTANGS MAY EXHIBIT THE FUEL BANK BEING SLOW OR DIFFICULT TO FILL. BASICALLY, THE FUEL PUMP WILL SHUT OFF WHILE PUMPING GAS, AS IF THE TANK WAS FULL. FORD DID ISSUE A SERVICE BULLETIN, TSB 05-4-8, AFTER I PURCHASING THE CAR, SUGGESTING THAT FORD'S SERVICE DEPARTMENT WILL REPLACE THE GAS TANK. THE BULLETIN STATED THAT THE CONDITION MAY BE DUE TO THE FUEL TANK VAPOR VENTING SYSTEM INSIDE THE FUEL TANK. ALTHOUGH THE GAS TANK WAS REPLACED THE PROBLEM REMAINED. FORD DID NOT CONSIDER THIS A DEFECT, BUT RATHER A CHARACTERISTIC OF THE NEW MODEL OF FORD MUSTANGS. AS A RESULT, I COULD NOT TAKE THE CAR ON EXTENDED TRIPS BECAUSE I WAS NOT SURE THAT I WILL BE ABLE TO FIND A PUMP THAT WILL ALLOW GAS INTO THE CAR. OUT OF 7 SERVICE STATIONS IN VALLEJO, I WAS ONLY ABLE TO USE 1 SUCCESSFULLY, AND EVEN THAT ONE NOW FAILED TO GIVE ME MORE THAN $10.00 OR LESS WORTH OF GAS. *AK

SEVERAL TRIPS HAVE BEEN MADE TO THE DEALERSHIP FOR REPAIRS. THE GAS TANK WAS REPLACED BECAUSE IT WOULDN'T ALLOW THE PUMP TO FILL UP THE TANK. PROBLEM STILL HAPPENS OCCASIONALLY. THE FUEL GAUGE STOPPED WORKING AND THE SERVICE DEPARTMENT COULD NOT REPAIR IT. THE GAUGE WILL NOT ALWAYS SHOW THE CORRECT AMOUNT OF FUEL. IT SEEMS TO TAKE SEVERAL MILES AND SEVERAL STARTS TO CORRECTLY DISPLAY THE AMOUNT OF FUEL. I NEVER REALLY KNOW HOW MUCH I SHOULD TRUST ITS ACCURACY. THE FULE GAUGE WAS REPLACED AND IT DID NOT WORK ANY BETTER. FORD ENGINEERS ASKED THAT I USE 3 TANKS OF PREMIUM GASOLINE WITH TECHRON IN ORDER TO CLEAN THE SENSOR. THIS DID NOT WORK. NOW FORD IS WORKING ON THE PROBLEM AND STILL HAS NO SOLUTION. THE SHAKER 500 CD PLAYER WAS REPLACED WHEN THE CD'S WOULDN'T PLAY AND WOULD NOT ALLOW THE CD'S TO BE REMOVED. BUSHINGS WERE REPLACED WHEN CLICKING NOISE WAS HEARD WHILE TURNING.

I WAS DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 75-80 MPH ON I-10 WESTBOUND IN KATY, TX ON A SUNNY DAY, APPX 90 DEGREES. I NOTICED THE BACK END OF THE CAR SWAY FROM SIDE TO SIDE. I SLOWED TO APPROXIMATELY 60 MPH AND THEN HEARD A POP AND THE CAR STARTED SWAYING ALMOST UNCONTROLLABLY AND BOUNCING. HAVING EXPERIENCED BLOWOUTS BEFORE, I KNEW THAT I HAD BLOWN A TIRE. I PULLED INTO THE BREAKDOWN LANE AND NOTED THE DRIVER'S SIDE TIRE WAS COMPLETELY SHREDDED AROUND THE ENTIRE CIRCUMFERENCE OF THE TIRE AT THE SIDEWALL. I HAD LESS THAN 200 MILES ON A BRAND NEW 2005 ROUSH MUSTANG WHEN THIS OCCURRED. IF I HAD NOT HAD HIGH-SPEED DRIVING TRAINING, I PROBABLY WOULD HAVE LOST CONTROL OF THE CAR AND CRASHED INTO THE CONCRETE BARRIER. WHEN I ASKED THE DEALER WHAT THEY FOUND WHEN THEY REPLACED THE TIRE, THE DEALER STATED THAT THE TIRE WAS DEFECTIVE BECAUSE THERE WAS NO APPARENT DAMAGE THAT WOULD HAVE CAUSED THE CATASTROPHIC FAILURE OF THE TIRE. HOOD IS MADE OF THIN ALUMINUM AND IS TO FLIMSY TO TOLERATE THE WIND LOAD. WITH TIME I BELIEVE HINGES WILL LOOSEN AND THE PROBLEM WILL WORSEN. *NM

I HAVE TAKEN IT TO THE DEALER REGARDING THIS PROBLEM , BUT THEY HAVE NOT FIXED IT YET, AND THE PARTS THEY ORIGINALLY ORDERED THEY NOW SAY WILL NOT FIX THE PROBLEM. IN ADDITION, THERE SEEMS TO BE A LESS AUDIBLE CLICK COMING FORM UNDER THE FRONT PART OF THE CAR, USUALLY WHEN THE HEATER OR THE AIR CONDITIONING IS ON, WHICH NO ONE SEEMS TO PINPOINT. THIS IS NOT CONSTANT BUT IS AN OFF AND ON OCCURRENCE. LASTLY, I HAVE A PROBLEM SOMETIMES WHEN FUELING AS THE PUMP TURNS OFF RIGHT AFTER I BEGIN FUELING AS IF THE TANK IS FULL WHEN IT IS NOT. AT FIRST FORD COULD NOT MAKE IT STICK WHILE TESTING AND DIDN'T KNOW WHY IT WAS DOING THIS. NOW THEY ARE SAYING WHEN IT DOES STICK YOU EITHER HAVE TO COME TO A DEAD STOP( WHICH I FIGURED OUT MYSELF) OR DOUBLE CLUTCH IT. I HAVEN'T DOUBLE CLUTCHED A CAR SINCE WAY BACK IN THE 60S. THEY SAY IT HAS TO DO WITH THE SENSORS NOT WORKING AT SLOW SPEEDS. AND THEY SAY THERE IS NO REPAIR BECAUSE IT IS A NORMAL OPERATING CHARACTERISTIC OF THIS TRANSMISSION.
