TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2005 FORD MUSTANG. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 30 MPH, THE TEMPERATURE GAUGE BECAME INOPERABLE WITH NO SYMPTOMS OF THE ENGINE OVER HEATING. A CERTIFIED MECHANIC REPLACED THE THERMOSTAT AND TEMPERATURE GAUGE. THE FAILURE PERSISTED AFTER THE REPAIR WAS PERFORMED. IN ADDITION, AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC DIAGNOSED THE VEHICLE WHERE A TROUBLE CODE WAS NOT DETECTED. RECENTLY THE FUEL GAUGE FAILED TO OPERATE. THE VEHICLE HAD NOT BEEN REPAIRED FOR EITHER ONE OF THE DEFECTS. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED AND THEY INFORMED THAT THERE WAS NOT A RECALL RELATED TO THE PROBLEM. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 60,000.
THE INSTRUMENT CLUSTER ON MY 2005 MUSTANG IS FAILING. THE RPM (TACH) DOES NOT WORK AT ALL. MY TEMPERATURE GAUGE DOES NOT WORK AT ALL. MY SPEEDOMETER IS STARTING TO FAIL. I HAVE RESEARCHED AND FOUND THIS IS A COMMON PROBLEM W/ THE 2005 MUSTANGS, YET THERE IS NO RECALL. IF MY CAR OVERHEATS, I WILL NEVER KNOW IT. WHEN MY SPEEDOMETER FINALLY FAILS, I WILL NOT KNOW HOW FAST I AM GOING. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2005 FORD MUSTANG. THE CONTACT RECEIVED NOTIFICATION OF NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 08V082000 (AIR BAGS) HOWEVER, THE PART TO DO THE REPAIR WAS UNAVAILABLE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE MANUFACTURER EXCEEDED A REASONABLE AMOUNT OF TIME FOR THE RECALL REPAIR. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE ISSUE. THE CONTACT HAD NOT EXPIERENCED A FAILURE. PARTS DISTRIBUTION DISCONNECT.
DROVE NOT KNOWING HOW FAST I WAS GOING EXCEPT MY GPS THANK GOD, AIRBAG SAID MALFUNTION POPPED ME IN THE FACE, LIGHTS WERE DIM COULDN'T SEE AND DROVE INTO A POLE. THIRD HUGE ISSUE AND FORD WON'R FIX B/C WARRANTY I COULD HAVE KILLED OR BEEN KILLED. *TR
ENGAGED PARKING BREAK ON 5-SPEED MANUAL CAR OVERNIGHT. FOLLOWING MORNING AFTER COLD WEATHER (BELOW FREEZING), STARTED SMELLING THE EMERGENCY BRAKE AND NOTICING SMOKE WISPS COMING FROM REAR TIRES AFTER DRIVING FOR ROUGHLY 5-10 MINUTES. FRICTION BURN OCCURRED ON BOTH REAR DISC BRAKES. REAR DRIVER SIDE DISC DEVELOPED A CRACK THROUGH THE DISC WHICH REQUIRED REPLACEMENT. DISCS HAD >1000 MILES ON THEM AT THE TIME. LOST BRAKING ABILITY AND E-BRAKE WOULD NO LONGER ENGAGE SO UNABLE TO PARK ON ANY INCLINE UNTIL FIXED. *JS
I CURRENTLY OWN A 2005 MUSTANG GT. I HAVE SEVERAL ISSUES WITH MY GAUGE CLUSTER ON MY CAR. SPEEDOMETER IS STUCK AT 40 MPH, FUEL GAUGE DOESN'T WORK, TEMP GAUGE WORKS WHEN IT WANTS TO, OIL GAUGE ISN'T READING CORRECTLY LOW FUEL LIGHT COMES ON WHEN I DON'T NEED FUEL. I CONTACTED FORD ABOUT THE ISSUE AND THEY WERE NO HELP. THIS IS A SAFETY CONCERN. I DON'T KNOW HOW FAST IM GOING. I DON'T KNOW THE TEMP OF MY MOTOR. I DON'T KNOW HOW MUCH FUEL I HAVE. I BOUGHT THIS CAR USED . HAD ONLY 35,000 MILES ON IT 3 YRS AGO. A YEAR IN A HALF AGO I NOTICE ON FRONT END OF HOOD PAINT LOOKED BUBBLY. DIDN'T THINK ANYTHING OF IT, CAUSE IT WAS A VERY SMALL AREA. NOW IT IS GETTING WORSE. I WAS TOLD THAT IT WAS RUST. HOW IS THIS POSSIBLE?
I OWN A FORD MUSTANG 2005 V6. THE FIRST THING TO HAPPEN AROUND DECEMBER OF 2013 WAS MY GAS GAUGE DROPPED TO EMPTY AND THE LOW FUEL LIGHT CAME ON WITH A MESSAGE OF FAILURE TO READ THE AMOUNT OF GAS OF VEHICL WHEN IN FACT I HAD A FULL TANK. THIS STARTED DOING IT EVERY SO OFTEN AND NOW DOES IT ON A DAILY OCCURRENCE, THE CHECK ENGINE IS ON AND I HAVE DIFICULTIES TO PASS POLLUTION TEST IN ILLINOIS BECAUSE OF THAT. THIS IS HAPPENING TO MANY MUSTANG OWENERS AND REALLY SOUNDS LIKE A DEFECT ON THESE FORD MUSTANG. IT IS NOT A CHEAP FIX AND FORD NEEDS TO STEP UP TO THE PLATE AND A RECALL NEEDS TO BE DONE. RECENTLY PURCHASED 2005 FORD MUSTANG AND WAS TOLD UPON SALE THAT THERE WAS A PROBLEM WITH THE FUEL GAUGE. I FIGURED IT WOULD BE EASY ENOUGH TO FIX SO WASN'T REALLY CONCERNED. NOW A WEEK LATER I NOTICED THE SPEEDOMETER DOESN'T WORK AS WELL. IT STICKS ON 15 MPH FOR PERIODS OF TIME OR THEN WILL SHOW AT LEAST 15 - 30 MPH FASTER THAN I AM ACTUALLY GOING. I SEARCHED ONLINE FOR A FIX AND FOUND THOUSANDS OF THREADS OF INDIVIDUALS WITH THE EXACT SAME ISSUE AND EVEN COPIES OF LETTERS SENT TO OWNER STATING THAT THERE WASN'T A RECALL BECAUSE IT'S NOT A SAFETY CONCERN. I BOUGHT THIS CAR FOR MY DAUGHTER. RUNNING OUT OF GAS LATE AT NIGHT BECAUSE HER FUEL GAUGE IS BROKEN IS A SAFETY ISSUE. SURE CAN SHE WRITE DOWN MILEAGE EVERY TIME SHE GETS GAS, YES. BUT AFTER READING SO MANY COMMENTS BY SO MANY PEOPLE IT SEEMS AS IF THIS ISSUE SHOULD BE RESOLVED BY FORD. SEEMS TO BE ISOLATED ON THE 2005 ONLY. IN ADDITION NOT KNOW YOUR SPEED LIMIT IS ALSO A SAFETY CONCERN AND ALSO A FINANCIAL CONCERN SHOULD YOU GET PULLED OVER HAVING NO IDEA HOW FAST YOU ARE DRIVING. THE SPEEDOMETER STICKS AT APPROX 60,40,35 MPH. IT WILL USE THAT AS ZERO SO IF IT STICKS AT 60. AND YOU ARE GOING 60 IT WILL READ 120. FORD SAYS THAT I SHOULD REPLACE THE INSTRUMENT PANEL. THERE ARE NUMEROUS OTHER 2005 MUSTANG V6 OWNERS WHO HAVE THE SAME PROBLEM. *TR
MY SPEEDOMETER WAS READING A LOWER SPEED THAN I WAS ACTUALLY DRIVING. IT WAS CONFIRMED WITH A SPEED RADAR SIGN. MY SPEEDOMETER GAUGE WAS OFF BY 15 MPH. I CHECKED ONLINE AND NOTICED THERE WERE MANY OTHER OWNERS WITH THE SAME DEFECT. I CONTACTED FORD REGARDING THE ISSUE AND THEY TOLD ME THERE WASN'T ANY RECALL FOR MY CAR. I DID SOME MORE RESEARCH AND FOUND OUT THE STEPPERS IN THE CLUSTER GAUGE HAVE BEEN KNOWN TO GO BAD. *JS
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2005 FORD MUSTANG. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE AIR BAG INDICATOR FAILED TO ILLUMINATE WHEN SEATED IN THE DRIVER'S SEAT CAUSING THE AIR BAG TO DEACTIVATE. THE DEALER STATED THAT THE SEAT SENSOR NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED AND THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 4,397.
AFTER A LIGHT RAIN I NOTICED WATER DRIPPING INTO THE PASSENGER SIDE KICK PLATE/GLOVE BOX AREA. CAR WOULD NOT START. HAD IT TOWED TO DEALER. STARTED NEXT DAY AND COULD NOT REPLICATE PROBLEM. NEXT DAY, SAME PROBLEM. WATER NOTICEABLE IN PASSENGER COMPARTMENT. SHOOK SMART JUNCTION BOX AND NOTICE WATER LEAKING OUT. CAR STARTED AND STOPPED WHEN SJB SHAKEN. TOOK TO DEALER. REPLACED SJB FOR $750. MONTH LATER SAME ISSUE, THIS TIME CAR SHUT OFF WHILE DRIVING ON FREEWAY IN RAIN. LOSS OF ALL CONTROL, ELECTRICAL AND POWER. COULD NOT RESTART. POUNDED ON SJB AND EVENTUALLY STARTED. GOT IT BACK HOME. NOW BRAKES LIGHTS, TURN SIGNAL, HEADLIGHTS, A/C AND DISPLAY PANEL NOT OPERATING. I AM SURPRISED THAT SOMEONE HAS NOT BEEN KILLED YET. IN TRYING TO SOLVE THIS ISSUE, IT APPEARS THAT THE INTERNET IS FULLY OF THE SAME STORIES. SICKENING. *TR
MY ENGINE OVERHEATED WHEN IT COOLED DOWN I CHECKED THE COOLING FAN CONNECTORS AND DISCOVERED THEY HAVE MELTED NOW THE FAN WON'T OPERATE. *TR
SPEEDOMETER AND RPM GAUGES FAULTY. SPEEDOMETER STARTS AT 140 WHEN VEHICLE IS STOPPED AND CLIMBS TILL IT IS VERTICALLY FACING DOWN. RPM GAUGE DOES NOT WORK. *TR
DRIVING ON HIGHWAY 55MPH, CAR SHUT DOWN AND COULD NOT RESTART. TOWED TO SHOP, THEY SAY NEEDS A NEW COMPUTER. $1,300.00 REPAIR. THEY CAR IS 8 YEARS OLD AND ONLY HAS 9100 MILES ON IT. *TR
THE SPEEDOMETER GAUGE IS STUCK AROUND 100 MPH WHEN THE CAR IS NOT MOVING. THE GAUGE THEN MOVES FROM THAT POINT ONCE THE CAR IS IN MOTION. *TR
AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION HAS TROUBLE SHIFTING INTO LOW GEAR. DOESN'T WANT TO ACCELERATE AFTER STOPPING. SOUNDS AS IF IT IS STUCK IN A GEAR. HAVE READ MANY COMPLAINTS ABOUT THIS ONLINE AND FORD JUST CLAIMS IT ISN'T THEIR PROBLEM. ALSO, ALL GAUGES QUIT WORKING AT APPROX 70,000 MILES. FUEL SYSTEM IS TERRIBLE. WILL NOT PUMP GAS PAST HALF A TANK AND SPITS GAS BACK OUT WHILE PUMPING LIKE ITS FULL. CAUSES PUMP TO CONSTANTLY SHUT OFF. ALL OF THESE ARE INCREDIBLY DANGEROUS AND MAKES THIS CAR UNSAFE TO DRIVE. *TR
THE CLEAR COAT IS BUBBLING/POPPING OFF ON THE DRIVERS SIDE FENDER. WATER GETS UNDER THE CLEAR COAT AND PULLS IT EVEN FARTHER AWAY FROM THE PAINT. *TR
THE INSTRUMENT GAUGES ON MY 2005 MUSTANG GT STARTED TO FAIL. FIRST THE SPEEDOMETER AND THEN THE FUEL AND TEMPERATURE GAUGES. ONLY THE TACHOMETER REMAINS FUNCTIONAL. THIS IS A SERIOUS SAFETY HAZARD AS THERE IS NO WAY TO ACCURATELY MEASURE HOW FAST YOUR GOING. THIS CAN BE A BIG ISSUE ON RAIN SOAKED, ICY OR OTHERWISE HAZARDOUS HIGHWAYS WHERE KNOWING YOUR SPEED IS CRUCIAL TO SAFE OPERATION OF YOUR VEHICLE. FORD IS OBVIOUSLY NOT STANDING BEHIND THEIR PRODUCT AND WILL NOT FIX THE PROBLEM WITHOUT A RECALL, UNLESS I PAY UP 1,000 DOLLARS...THEN WAIT FOR THE SAME THING TO OCCUR AGAIN. NHTSA HAS THE POWER TO ISSUE THE RECALL IF SAFETY IS AN ISSUE. HOW CAN IT NOT BE? HOW MANY HAVE TO BE MAIMED OR INJURED BEFORE YOU ISSUE THE RECALL AND DEMAND THAT FORD FIX THIS PROBLEM? *TR
ON THIS DAY THE OIL TEMPERATURE GAUGE STOPPED FUNCTIONING CORRECTLY. IN THE FOLLOWING MONTHS THE RPM GAUGE, THE FUEL LEVEL GAUGE, AND SPEEDOMETER HAVE STOPPED FUNCTIONING CORRECTLY AND READ THE WRONG INFORMATION. *TR
MY CAR SHOWS ERRATIC NEEDLE MOVEMENT AND GAUGES ARE READING OVER HEAT 0 MILES PER HOUR WHILE MOVING AND STICKS AT 120 MPH AFTER USE AND IS PARKED. GAS METER IS OFF, ODOMETER IS OFF, IT'S VERY SCARY TO DRIVE AND EXPENSIVE. ALREADY DEALT WITH THE WATER LEAK ISSUE FORM PASSENGER SIDE. CLUSTER PANEL IS BROKEN I BELIEVE. BAD DASH BOARD. HUNDREDS OF FORUMS EXPLAIN SAME ISSUES ON GOING YEARS ON NEW MODELS. NOT SAFE OR FAIR FOR FORD TO NOT ADDRESS THIS DEATH TRAP. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2005 FORD MUSTANG. WHILE ATTEMPTING TO REFUEL THE VEHICLE, FUEL SPEWED OUT DURING EVERY GALLON. THE CONTACT MENTIONED THAT THE FUEL GAUGE WORKED ONLY IF THE VEHICLE WAS ON AN INCLINE. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE FUEL GAUGE NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 33,500.
THE CAR WAS INVOLVED IN A ONE VEHICLE ACCIDENT HITTING A GUARD RAIL ON AN INTERSTATE AT 60 MPH. IT WAS PRETTY MUCH A HEAD ON COLLISION. THE CAR STOPPED IMMEDIATELY WHEN HITTING THE FIFTH POST OF THE GUARD RAIL, STOOD THE CAR UP ON ITS NOSE, SPUN AROUND ABOUT 360 DEGREES BEFORE LANDING ON THE TIRES. DURING THIS TIME THE AIR BAGS NEVER DEPLOYED OR THE PASSENGER SEAT BELT CAUGHT. THE PASSENGER WAS BOUNCED ALL AROUND THE CAR. THE PASSENGERS OF THE CAR WERE LOOKING STRAIGHT DOWN AT THE ROAD WHEN THE CAR WAS SPINNING ON THE NOSE. NOW, BY GOD'S GRACE ONLY, THESE PASSENGERS WERE NOT EXTREMELY INJURED AND WAS IT A FATAL IMPACT. HOWEVER, IF THE SAFETY FEATURES OF THE CAR WORKED PROPERLY, LESS INJURY WOULD HAVE BEEN EXPERIENCED. THE COULD HAVE EASILY ROLLED AND IF SO, THE AIR BAGS WOULD HAVE BEEN A NECESSITY OF SECURITY PRECAUTIONS. FORD SHOULD BE HELD ACCOUNTABLE FOR ALL THE MUSTANGS EXPERIENCING AIR BAG AND SEAT BELT PROBLEMS. I PURCHASE A VECHILE WITH THE SAFETY OPTIONS HAS A MAIN DECISION OF CHOICE. IF THE SAFETY IS NOT THERE, YOU ARE PURCHASING A "PRODUCT" OF DEATH. *TR
THE GAUGE CLUSTERS FAILED. THE SPEEDOMETER FAILED AND IS NO LONGER WORKING. RPM AND FUEL GAUGE ARE STARTING TO FAIL. FROM WHAT I HAVE READ ON-LINE. THE 2005 MUSTANG GAUGE MOTORS WERE POORLY DESIGNED AND FORD FIXED THE PROBLEM IN THE 2006 MODELS BUT FAILED TO FIX THE DEFECTIVE PARTS IN THE 2005 MODELS. *TR
OUR 2005 FORD MUSTANG V6 STARTED SHOWING NO FUEL ON THE GAUGE APPROXIMATED IN JUNE OF 2013. AT FIRST IT WAS RANDOM BUT NOW IT NEVER SHOWS GAS IN THE TANK EVEN WHEN THE TANK IS FULL. WE KEEP TRACK OF THE MILES AND KEEP IT FILLED BECAUSE WE HAVE NO GAUGE. AS OF MARCH 2014 THE CAR HAS A CHECK ENGINE LIGHT ON AND HAS STARTED TO STOP WHEN AT INTERSECTIONS. IT ACTS LIKE IT HAS NO GAS. IT IS FRIGHTENING WHEN YOUR CAR IS SITTING IN BUSY TRAFFIC AND WON'T MOVE. SO FAR IT HAS STARTED UP AFTER A FEW TRIES. WE ARE VERY CONCERNED AFTER READING OTHER MUSTANG OWNERS HAVE THE SAME PROBLEM AND FORD HAS DONE NOTHING TO RECALL OR TRY TO HELP OWNERS FIX THIS ISSUE. *TR
THE VEHICLES TACHOMETER HAS FAILED AND NO LONGER PROPERLY MEASURES THE VEHICLES RPMS. IT IS PROBABLY CAUSED BY A FAILED MOTOR IN THE GAUGE CLUSTER. *TR
DASH CLUSTER STOPS WORKING NO FUEL, TEMP, NO SPEED. SOMETIMES EVERYTHING STOPS WORKING. IF I RESTART CAR IT SEEMS TO RESET ITS SELF. WHEN TRYING TO FILL UP GAS TANK IT WON'T ALLOW FUEL TO GO IN SHUTS PUMP OFF SPLASHES OUT, FOUND THAT IF I HOLD FUEL NOZZLE UPSIDE DOWN I CAN GET SOME GAS IN BUT TAKES ABOUT 10-15 MINS TO FILL TANK. THESE PROBLEMS OCCUR EVERY WEEK. I HAVE NOT RECEIVED NOTICE YET OF RECALL FOR AIRBAG. FORD SHOULD RECALL GAS TANK PROBLEM AND DASH CLUSTERS SEEMS LIKE 2005 YEARS HAVE ISSUES!
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2005 FORD MUSTANG. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING AT LOW SPEEDS, THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL BECAME JAMMED. THE CONTACT ATTEMPTED TO APPLY THE BRAKES BUT THE VEHICLE CONTINUED TO ACCELERATE AND CRASHED INTO A GRATE. THE CONTACT DID NOT SUSTAIN ANY INJURIES. THE POLICE WERE NOT CONTACTED. THE VEHICLE WAS ABLE TO BE DRIVEN FROM THE CRASH SITE, BUT ONLY AT LOW SPEEDS. THE VEHICLE WAS LATER TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHERE THE CONTACT WAS AWAITING AN INVESTIGATION OF THE FAILURE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS CONTACTED AND OFFERED NO ASSISTANCE. THE FAILURE AND CURRENT MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 70,000. *TR

I HAVE A 2005 FORD MUSTANG AND THE INSTRUMENT PANEL STOPPED WORKING PROPERLY. ACCORDING TO THE GAUGE, I WAS GOING 120 MPH!! THEN THE LIGHTS, RADIO, AND DOORS STOPPED WORKING. I NOTICE THERE ARE A LOT OF THIS MAKE AND MODEL WITH THE SAME PROBLEM. IT'S VERY IRRITATING TO HAVE TO BORROW A CAR TO GET TO WORK AND BACK. ISSUE 1 BACK WHEN I HAD LIKE 30K SOMETHING BRAKE CABLES FREEZE. TOOK IT TO FORD DEALER AND TOLD THEM BUT THEY HAD TO BILL ME $120 TO CHECK IT OUT AND ANOTHER $500 BUT DIDN'T SOLVE THE PROBLEM ISSUE 2 FOUND OUT ABOUT THE FLOODING WHEN THE DRAIN PLUG CLOGGED UP AT PASSENGER SIDE ISSUE 3 ALTERNATOR WENT BAD AS WELL AS THE BATTERY ISSUE 4 VEHICLE STARTED IDLE UP AND DOWN ISSUE 5 CHECK ENGINE CAME ON AND I GOT 5 CHECK CODES ANOTHER ISSUE WAS I WAS DRIVING PULLED UP TO A STOP LIGHT STARTING TO MOVE AGAIN PUT IT IN 1ST GEAR AND THE VEHICLE DIDN'T TAKE SAME TIME IT TOOK LIKE 3-4 SECOND BEFORE I MOVED OUT. I THEN SMELL SOMETHING BURNING LIKE BRAKE PAD SHREDDING ABS SENSORS IDLE SPEED AND OTHER ELECTRICAL PROBLEM. *TR
I WAS AT A STOP SIGN... WHILE DRIVING IN FIRST GEAR ABOUT TO SWITCH TO SECOND... THE CAR RPM REDLINE.. EVERYONE WHO HAS THIS CAR MANUAL KNOWS THAT THIS CAR CHIRPS 2ND GEAR WITH OR WITHOUT TCS ON... LONG STORY SHORT.... TOTALED!!! *TR
SPEEDOMETER NOT WORKING CORRECTLY. GO ANYWHERE FROM 20 TO 80 MPH OVER TRAVELED SPEED. EVEN WHEN SITTING IT STICKS AT 20-80 MPH. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2005 FORD MUSTANG. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING AT AN UNKNOWN SPEED, SHE NOTICED THAT ALL OF THE GAUGES ON THE INSTRUMENT PANEL WERE NOT OPERATING. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC FOR DIAGNOSIS AND THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THE CLUSTER WOULD NEED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 70,000 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 80,000.
PARKING BRAKE WAS ENGAGED OVERNIGHT WHILE PARKED. TEMPERATURES WENT BELOW FREEZING. NEXT MORNING, RELEASED PARKING BRAKE AND BEGAN DRIVING. ACCELERATION WAS SLUGGISH AND I COULD SMELL SOMETHING BURNING. REAR BRAKE DISCS WERE EXTREMELY HOT AFTER .5 MI OF DRIVING. UPON REMOVAL OF THE WHEELS, THE PASSENGER SIDE BRAKE PAD HAD BEEN GLAZED AND WAS EXTREMELY HOT. BRAKE CALIPER FROZE IN THE ENGAGED POSITION DO TO MULTIPLE CRACKS AND DETERIORATION OF THE PARKING BRAKE CABLE BOOT. FORD HAS NOT ISSUED A RECALL DESPITE REPORTS OF PARKING BRAKE CABLE FAILURE CAUSING POOR BRAKING WHILE MOVING OR NO BRAKING WHILE PARKED AND CARS ROLLING IN TO TRAFFIC. *TR

THE CONTACT HAD TO SHIFT INTO NEUTRAL IN ORDER TO SLOW DOWN THE VEHICLE. IN ADDITION, THE BRAKE PEDAL WAS DEPRESSED BUT THE VEHICLE FAILED TO RESPOND. FUEL GAUGE, SPEEDOMETER AND DIGITAL READ OUT. COMMENTS: HELLO, I AM HAVING SIGNIFICANT PROBLEMS WITH THE SPEEDOMETER ON MY 2005 FORD MUSTANG V6. THIS IS BY NO MEANS AN ISOLATED PROBLEM. SPEEDOMETER JUMPS TO ANYWHERE BETWEEN 20 TO 80 MPH AND REMAINS AT 20 TO 80. I HAVE SEEN IT ON EVERY FORUM THAT I COULD FIND AND IN LARGE NUMBERS. I HAVE NOTICED IS IT SEEMS TO BE MORE PREVALENT WHEN IT IS BELOW 40F DEGREES OUTSIDE. THE SAME THING HAPPENED WITH THE FUEL GAUGE SO I FILLED THE TANK, BUT THE GAS GAUGE STILL SHOWS 1/4 TANK. THIS IS A SAFETY ISSUE AND THERE NEEDS TO BE RESOLVE BEFORE SOMEONE GETS HURT, IF NOT ALREADY. I CHECKED FORD SITE, THERE ARE NO RECALLS ON THIS I'M SURPRISED THEY HAVEN'T HAD A RECALL YET. *TR

I HAVE THIS BUBBLING/ PEELING OF PAINT ON THE HOOD RIGHT WHERE THE HOOD STARTS TO WRAP UNDER IN THE FRONT OF THE CAR TOWARDS THE ENGINE. THERE'S A TSB OUT ON THIS BUT WHY SHOULD FORD OWNERS PAY FOR FORDS MISTAKE AND I ALSO SEEN A LOT OF FORUMS WITH OTHERS HAVING THE SAME PROBLEM. *TR
I GOT THE CAR @42,500 OR SO MILES. THERE WAS A BAD PUDDLE OF WATER AFTER IT RAINED. NEAR THE SMART JUNCTION BOX IS WHERE IT APPEARS TO BE GETTING IN. I HAVE READ ALOT OF COMPLAINTS ONLINE ABOUT THIS ISSUE. FOR SURE A DEFECT THAT FORD SHOULD FIX... AS ANOTHER PERSON ON THIS SITE MENTIONED, I AM SURE THAT MAJOR ELECTRICAL DAMAGE COULD POTENTIALLY TAKE PLACE (I FORCED MYSELF TO COVER THE CAR AT ALL TIMES). THE GAS TANK IS DIFFICULT TO FILL UP ALL THE WAY. I CANNOT SIMPLY PULL THE GAS PUMP "TRIGGER" AND LOCK IT. THE PUMP STOPS, DUE TO THE TRIGGER BEING "TRIPPED" (AS IF THE TANK WAS FULL). SO I HAVE TO HOLD DOWN THE TRIGGER AGAIN (THE FUEL PUMP USUALLY GETS "TRIGGERED" 20 TIMES PER EVERY FILLING OF THE TANK). SUPER ANNOYING AND A KNOWN DEFECT THAT NEEDS A NEW GAS TANK TO BE CORRECTED. HOW DOES FORD NOT CORRECT THIS? *JS
MY 16 YR OLD SON WAS DRIVING AND THE SPEED GAUGE STARTED READING 90 THEN 60 THEN 100 ALSO THE TEMP GAUGE WENT INTO THE RED. HE PANICKED THAT CAR WAS GOING TO BLOW UP AND PULLED OFF THE HIGHWAY AT NIGHT TO CALL TO SEE WHAT HE SHOULD DO. WHILE DRIVING ON LOCAL ROAD HEARD A NOISE FROM ENGINE COMPARTMENT, LOST POWER STEERING, BATTERY WARNING LIGHT CAME ON AND SHORTLY AFTER CAR STOPPED RUNNING. FOUND ACCESSORY BELT DETACHED FROM PULLEY. FOUND OUT FROM FORD THAT THIS WAS THE CRANKSHAFT PULLEY, AND THIS IS QUITE COMMON ON THE 4.0 V6 ENGINE. *TR

THE CONTACT MENTIONED THAT THE FUEL GAUGE BEGAN TO REGISTER EMPTY ALTHOUGH THE VEHICLE HAD JUST BEEN REFUELED. IN ADDITION, THE LEFT TURN SIGNAL BEGAN TO BLINK AT AN UNUSUALLY HIGH RATE OF SPEED. THE CONTACT BELIEVED THAT THE INSTRUMENT CLUSTER MIGHT BE DEFECTIVE. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A DEALER FOR DIAGNOSIS BUT OFFERED NO ASSISTANCE. THE FAILURE AND CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 76,000. THE VIN WAS NOT AVAILABLE.
THE MORNING AFTER A RAIN STORM WHEN PULLING OUT OF MY DRIVEWAY WATER STARTED TO POUR IN BEHIND THE GLOVE BOX AND PASSENGER AIR BIG AREA AND ONTO THE FLOOR. IT WAS ABOUT 1 OR 2 INCHES OF WATER ALL TOGETHER. AFTER DOING SOME RESEARCH I FOUND THAT THE FORD KNOWS WHAT THE PROBLEM IS AND STILL HAS NOT DONE ANYTHING TO FIX IT. IT EFFECTS ALL FORD MUSTANGS FROM 2005 THROUGH 2008. THEY HAVE A TSB 07-14-6 WHICH DESCRIBES THE PROBLEM AND STATES HOW TO FIX IT. *TR
THE INSTRUMENT CLUSTER ON MY '05 GT STOPPED WORKING. IT WILL SOMETIMES SHOW THAT I AM DRIVING AT 120 MPH WHEN I AM IN FIRST GEAR AND IN MY DRIVEWAY. OTHER TIMES IT GOES 25 MPH ON THE FREEWAY IN FIFTH GEAR. THIS IS A SERIOUS SAFETY ISSUE AS YOU NEVER KNOW HOW FAST YOU ARE DRIVING. *TR
FUEL GAUGE READING PAST EMPTY, WILL NOT SHOW ANY CHANGE IN FUEL LEVEL. OTHER GAUGES SHOWING SAME SIGNS OF FAILING. INTERNET HAS MANY COMPANIES THAT WILL FIX THE GAUGE CLUSTER, SO IT MUST BE A COMMON PROBLEM WITH MUSTANGS. ALSO THE LED DAYTIME LIGHTING ON THE DASHBOARD GAUGES IS VERY LOW NOT ABLE TO READ THE SPEEDOMETER OR OTHER GAUGES.

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHO STATED THAT THERE WERE HOLES ON THE LINER IN BETWEEN THE WINDSHIELD AND THE HOOD THAT CAUSED THE WATER TO LEAK INTO THE VEHICLE. THE GAUGES ON INSTRUMENT PANEL AND THE WIRES THAT LEAD TO THE SPEAKERS WERE DAMAGED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 77,000.
